At lunchtime only the three-course menu is offered, which can be expanded with two extras - both highly recommended. The service is sometimes a bit inattentive when refilling drinks.
A new restaurant has arrived. The Tafelspitz from Grabenstrasse has found its new home here.
Very tasty Hessian/Rhine-Hessian dishes await and pamper the palate.
The ambience is simple and modern.
The food was very tasty.
Welcome to the new location and good luck in the new premises.
Great dinner experience. The only thing I recommend to improve are the chairs. Their backs are in my view not high enough, which makes it hard to sit their comfortably for 3+ hours. Other than that, everything was great!
The location at Braunschweiger Platz is really interesting. I've passed there countless times over the years without ever noticing the very chic Jante. The outdoor area looked as if you could definitely have a lovely time there, but in February that wasn't really an option.
The interior is in Scandinavian style. Clear structures, lots of wood. I liked that a lot.
The service was attentive, friendly and very committed, although there were differences between the individual service staff. I would have liked a little less fluctuation here, but that is certainly a matter of taste.
I thought the idea of being able to help yourself with cutlery from a drawer was cool; I would have been happy to see more size options for spoons and forks.
I was very impressed with the food. My highlights were the smoked eel, with the very exciting grapefruit note, the beetroot camouflage, which was served with the excellent game, and the really surprising ice cream dessert, which, with its white chocolate chips and various different flavors, managed to represent an enormous variety at the same time, but without seeming overloaded.
I really liked the non-alcoholic drink accompaniment. Varied, well explained and a great alternative if you don't want to just stick with water.
All in all, I had a great evening and can recommend Jante without hesitation.
Really great food and super friendly, professional service. The food always came to the table at the same time, cutlery that was no longer needed was cleared away straight away and the food itself was very good.
Definitely an experience.
I had the pleasure of dining at this Michelin star restaurant and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the first moment it was clear that nothing was left to chance here - from the reception to the last course. The service was impeccable: unobtrusive but always attentive and with an impressive knowledge of each dish and the wine.
The menu offered a creative yet harmonious combination of regional and international flavors. What was particularly impressive was the precision of the preparation, with each course being perfectly presented, both in terms of taste and presentation. It was a real joy to discover the variety of textures and flavors the dishes had to offer.
The wine pairing was equally excellent and was chosen with great care. Here we not only relied on well-known names, but also on smaller, exciting wineries that harmonized perfectly with the food.
I was particularly impressed by a sweet dish that immediately reminded me of Sundays with my mother - a wonderful feeling!
The ambience of the restaurant was elegant and relaxed at the same time. Despite the fine cuisine, you never felt uncomfortable or overwhelmed. It was a place where you could feel completely at home both in terms of cuisine and atmosphere.
Conclusion: An unforgettable experience that more than met the expectations of a Michelin star restaurant. Every aspect – from service to cuisine – was of the highest standard. Definitely an address to remember for special occasions.
Four of us had lunch at the Schwarzer Adler at the end of January.
My friends have been there several times, but for me it was the first, BUT definitely not the last time.
Kitchen and service very good.
The wine list is really very impressive in terms of selection and especially the vintages.
It was an incredibly great experience!
Big praise to the entire TEAM
A wonderful Michelin-starred restaurant. The decor is simple, with plenty of space between tables, providing perfect privacy for conversation. The service is very friendly and attentive, yet still informal. Excellent food from a true professional. The portions are generous and not in short supply.
Parking is available right in front of the door.
Everything was perfect for a lovely, cozy evening at the restaurant. We'd be happy to return. Thank you!
