EssZimmer by Käfer (BMW Welt) in München

It was okay. The service wasn't that attentive and we sometimes had to refill the water ourselves and we had to wait forever for drinks. The ambience is nice but not outstanding. Unfortunately, one of the spotlights was very inconveniently placed and shone heavily into my face. The volume in the restaurant is also a lot louder than in other high-quality restaurants. The food was good and nicely prepared.

The location at BMW Welt is something very special as soon as you arrive. We were greeted very courteously and shown to our table. Welcomed straight away with a small appetizer. We had the five course menu plus an extra course. Everything was excellent from start to finish! There is absolutely no improvement. We look forward to coming back.

There is nothing comparable in Munich. This is all top shelf. Perfect in every way.

The dining room has been our favorite for top-notch fine dining for years and it truly was again at its best. We ate excellently, were surprised with lots of great little things between the menu courses and we were once again thrilled by the fine workmanship, the taste experiences and the aesthetics on the plates. The service is very friendly and attentive and explained the ingredients of each course in detail and prepared us nicely. The corresponding wines went well with it and we also enjoyed it. Mr. Bräuer also had time for a nice conversation at the end of the evening and we wish him all the best and all the best to the new team from summer 2025. We will definitely be happy to come back!

Simply amazing food and service. Esszimmer is a double Michelin Star rated restaurant on the 3rd floor of BMW Welt (BMW World) in the Olympiazentrum neighborhood of Munich. Chef Bobby Bräuer and his team produce a multi-course extravaganza of amuse bouches, main dishes, and desserts that are worth the hefty asking price. There are two menus - standard and vegetarian - for which you can choose 5-to-8 courses. A third menu provides wine pairings to go with each course. Our experience involved a choice of five meat/fish options, two cheese-driven options, and one sweet dessert. The attentive staff was extremely accommodating of my family’s dietary restrictions and spoke to us in English, which made it much easier to understand the complex ingredients explained in detail. Our table overlooked the BMW Welt “showroom” of unique sedans, which provided a pleasant view for the 3-hour cavalcade of culinary delights. We could have stayed longer, but our time zone lag meant it was time to retire to our hotel with full stomachs and a great memory of this wonderful restaurant. My wife and I agreed this was the best meal we have ever eaten. And our 11-year-old “foodie” son smiled the entire night, which might give a better idea of how excellent Esszimmer München really is. Prost!

Ein Abend im Esszimmer ist rundherum ein Erlebnis. Von der technischen Atmosphäre der BMW-Welt taucht man in eine warme Atmosphäre des Esszimmers ein. Bereits der Empfang am Aufzug lässt einem spüren, dass man herzlich willkommen ist. Und das geht den ganzen Abend so weiter. Das Menü bietet mit jedem Gang ein geschmackliches Erlebnis wunderschön angerichtet. AusgezeichnetWeine ergänzen den Abend. Einzig bei den Temperaturen der Weine gibt's Luft nach oben. Der Weißwein eher zu warm, der Rotwein zu kühl. Dennoch der Abend ist ein außerordentliches Erlebnis.

Wir waren anlässlich eines besonderen Jubiläums erstmals im Esszimmer. Als sich die Tür des Aufzugs in der 3. Etage der BMW-Welt öffnete, wurden wir sogleich von freundlichen Mitarbeitern in Empfang genommen und zum Tisch geleitet. Unser Wunsch nach dem "schönsten" Tisch im Restaurant wurde erfüllt. Wir hatten einen guten Blick ins Restaurant und die angrenzende Küche sowie in die BMW-Welt auf die dort ausgestellten Fahrzeuge, viel Platz und private Atmosphäre. Zur Begrüßung und Erinnerung wurden wir mit einer Karte zu unserem besonderen Anlaß - unterschrieben vom gesamten Team - überrascht. Bei der Menüauswahl haben wir uns für alle 8 Gänge entschieden. Nach einem kleinen Aperitif ging es auch gleich los mit den ersten Leckereien, frisch gebackenem Brot und einem Amuse-Gueule, bevor der erste Gang serviert wurde. Die einzelnen Gänge waren hervorragend, variantenreich komponiert und im Detail verziert angerichtet, auch wenn 1 oder 2 Gänge nicht ganz unseren Vorstellungen entsprachen, aber über Geschmack lässt sich bekanntlich nicht streiten. Die Weinempfehlungen passten ebenfalls sehr gut. Abgerundet wurde das schon sehr umfangreiche Menü am Schluß mit weiteren Leckereien und - zu unserer weiteren Überraschung - mit einem anläßlich unseres Jubiläums extra zubereiteten sehr leckeren Dessert. Fazit: Wir haben - so wie wir es uns gewünscht hatten - einen sehr schönen Abend verbracht mit einem hervorragenden Abendessen. Der Service war sehr freundlich, aufmerksam, unaufgeregt und dezent im Hintergrund, das Timing perfekt. Nach dem rund 4-stündigen Abendessen haben wir das Restaurant rundum zufrieden verlassen und empfehlen es sehr gerne weiter, verbunden mit einem nochmaligen Dankeschön an das gesamte Team.

An evening at Bobby Bräuer's is an unforgettable experience! Every single course was a true work of art in which you could literally taste the extraordinary skills of a two-Michelin-star chef. The flavors were perfectly balanced and the wine pairing chosen complemented the menu at the highest level. It is rare that precision craftsmanship, creativity and taste come together at this level. An absolute must for anyone who wants to experience culinary perfection. Thank you, Bobby Bräuer and the team, for this extraordinary evening!

Ein großartiger Abend mit unglaublichen Erlebnissen für den Gaumen und großem Unterhaltungswert Dank Ireneo Tucci…

My sister made a reservation request for six people online a month before our planned visit, as five people could not be selected. Unfortunately, we received a cancellation via email just one day before the planned visit, without any explanation. Despite trying again with a different email address and credit card, the response was the same - a rejection, again without any explanation. This makes it impossible to plan your visit in good time. It is noteworthy that the restaurant points out that if you do not show up or cancel at short notice, you will be charged €900. Reference is also made to the dress code: “[…] we ask gentlemen to wear long trousers, even on warm days.” So there seem to be high standards for the guests, as befits a restaurant like this. However, the restaurant itself cannot be reached by telephone - neither on different days nor at different times. It is unfortunate that the high expectations of guests are not matched by appropriate service. With such disappointing service when making the reservation, you lose the desire to even redeem the fine dine voucher. This would have been worth €60, which would only have covered a small part of the bill. It seems as if there is no great interest in this income or there is simply no need to behave professionally. Otherwise the reservation process wouldn't be so outrageous.

Das EssZimmer stand schon lange auf unserem Plan. Zu unserer Silberhochzeit war es dann soweit. Wir verbrachten einen wunderschönen Abend in dem Restaurant bei einem 6-Gang-Menü, bei dem eine Köstlichkeit die andere ablöste. Auch die entsprechende Weinbegleitung war vom Feinsten. Vielen Dank noch einmal an das Team und den hervorragenden und freundlichen Service sowie die vom Team unterschriebene Gratulationskarte als Überraschung am Schluss.

It was a wonderful evening in a great atmosphere. The service was excellent. We had a five course menu with excellent dishes.

The gourmet menu I recently experienced was an exquisite journey through the heights of culinary art. Each dish demonstrated a masterful combination of creativity, precision and the best ingredients. The start was the Chiemsee pikeperch, accompanied by imperial caviar, buttermilk and linseed. The delicate flavors of the pike perch harmonized perfectly with the slight acidity of the buttermilk and the subtle saltiness of the caviar, while the flaxseeds added a pleasant crunch. We continued with a Breton mussel pot, which became a true taste experience thanks to the combination of fennel, bean seeds and Szechuan pepper. The fresh seafood and the spicy note of the Szechuan pepper complemented each other perfectly. The Black Cod, served with almond, tomato and saffron, was another highlight of the evening. The buttery fish was perfectly showcased by the nutty almonds and the intense taste of saffron. A special treat was the quail from the Bresse, accompanied by tahini, ginger and corn sake. The tender quail and the exotic aromas of ginger and tahini created an incomparable taste composition. The veal shank and goose liver, served with chicory, Kara Kara orange and Jerusalem artichoke, were another example of the fine art of the cuisine. The delicate stilt and the rich goose liver harmonized perfectly with the sweet-tart note of the orange and the earthy Jerusalem artichoke. The Hochalpe mountain cheese with mustard fruits, lettuce and radishes offered a successful change and prepared the palate perfectly for the sweet conclusion. The strong cheese and spicy radishes created a wonderful contrast. The golden pear with cardamom, rose and opalys was a real highlight of the dessert. The sweet, juicy pear and the subtle aromas of cardamom and rose created a harmonious and elegant finale. The crowning finale was the guanaja, accompanied by fior di latte, rooibos and Piedmont hazelnut. The intense chocolate and creamy components provided a luxurious conclusion to this exceptional menu. The option to choose between a 5, 6, 7 or 8 course menu offers a flexible way to experience this culinary masterpiece. Each course was a testament to the passion and talent of the kitchen, making this menu an unforgettable experience for any foodie.

What a restaurant! Although the restaurant hasn't been said enough yet. What an experience! The BMW Welt, with a view over the entire area, is probably the best star experience in all of Germany. The service is top notch, as is the menu and of course the ambience is as described. We were here for our anniversary and were really blown away. No deduction, full 5*

We were there in March and I thought for a long time whether I should write something, but I can't let it go. So: Food 4/5 When I go to a restaurant like this and pay these prices, I want to be able to say: it was sensational. But that wasn't really it! That's what everyone at the table said too. Some of the courses definitely pleased the palate, but there was no WOW effect. Ambience 2/5 The floodlight above my head, which couldn't be dimmed or turned off, also suppressed any sense of well-being. Service 3/5 There was black sediment in the last wine. This can happen, but when I complained about it, the waitress initially reacted with incomprehension. At the end there were two more incorrect invoices. I understand that quality has its price, but here I can only give 3 points for the overall performance.

What a restaurant! I was there in April and celebrated my birthday with a meal and what can I say - just fantastic. The ambience, the service and of course the cuisine were terrific. In my opinion the best star restaurant in Munich, if not in all of Germany.

It was just fantastic, you are greeted directly at the elevator and shown to the table. Very attentive yet unobtrusive service. From our table we had a beautiful view down to the BMW Welt plaza. Very nice atmosphere, maybe a bit too bright, but I'm not really a benchmark here! You can also watch the artists of the “cold” kitchen prepare the dishes to perfection through a large window. Our food was excellent, we had the 8 course menu with accompanying wine for 5 courses. There is nothing to complain about and we would be happy to come back. An all-round successful evening.

It was an experience, more than just going out to eat. I had never had such an experience before. It is a culinary journey lasting several hours. The atmosphere was relaxed and calm. There was enough space and it wasn't too tight. The advice on wine was professional and our individual wishes were taken into account, but in such a way that it still fit the menu. Very attentive and friendly service.

Our first experience in a 2 star restaurant… It was perfect, set to the millimeter, from reception to departure. Would you like details? The cuisine pleases both your eye and your taste buds. A service measured to perfection presents you with the details of each plate as you hand it over and, I saved the best for last, what can we say about the sommeliers? Above all, benefit from their experience, I recommend their food and wine combinations. A must!!! A progressive magic: It's like simply accelerating with the six-cylinder on a mountain pass... It all adds up to something crazy, enough to put a smile on a depressed person's face... For me, this should simply be reimbursed by my health insurance :-) In short, we loved it, we loved it, we want it again! An unforgettable gift and evening, I can't wait to turn 10 years older...

Wir waren begeistert: Das 8-Gänge-Menü mit Weinbegleitung ... jeder Gang eine Explosion von Aromen und Geschmäckern ... Allein um auf die Ideen für die angebotenen Geschmackskreationen zu kommen, muss man ein sehr kreativer Künstler sein. Wir fanden es einfach unglaublich gut ... eine Begeisterung folgte der nächsten ... die Weine dazu ebenso ausgefallen und bestens abgestimmt. Frage: Lohnt es sich für ein Abendessen mehr als 400 Euro p. P. auszugeben? Antwort: Ja, sicher nicht regelmäßig ... aber für einen besonderen Anlass - und den hatten wir - ganz sicher! Schmeckt man den Preis? Ja, wenn man diese Art der Kunst zu schätzen und genießen weiß. Und zum Schluss noch ein nettes Gespräch und ein Geschenk vom Patron persönlich - ein wundervoller Abschluss eines grandiosen Abends. Danke, Herr Bräuer, dank auch an den famosen Service und alle Beteiligten vor und hinter den Kulissen!

A perfect evening from start to finish. Attentive and friendly service, always present and we always felt looked after. Very good wine selection for the menu. And the menu itself - every course is a real taste explosion. Respect what the team has conjured up.

I have known Bobby Brauer for many years now and he is still that creative captain of the ship Esszimmer . He is unarguably the best in Europe for the sauces he makes and also the balance he achieves for every single dish . They have maintained the Michelin 2 stars for the last 7 years and still one of the best places you can have a meal in Munich . I was also fortunate to work with him for a couple of months and I owe a lot to him for all what I learnt .

One of the best 2 star mich we have been to in years

The first visit to the “dining room” was actually a taste experience. 02/25/2024 A very nice evening from the first minute to the end. There is absolutely nothing to complain about. Very nice staff, very informal and everyone was friendly and nice. We'll definitely be back. I actually can't think of any suggestions for improvement. Not exactly cheap, but the price and performance are reasonable, For us it was worth every cent.

Typical for restaurants run by well-known star chefs. Here, too, I unfortunately have to admit that the food was nothing special and simply little. Nicely prepared. I received the food as part of my vehicle pickup.

We were there before Christmas for a birthday party. We were thrilled like the last time. It's a shame that you won't be chauffeured home anymore.

Actually everything was perfect. But the next morning, the three of us men agreed that we found the 5-course menu too smooth and perfect for a real feeling of well-being. We knew beforehand that it was extremely expensive. But afterwards we just agreed that we wouldn't follow Michelin stars and would choose more down-to-earth Munich food for the following evening.

The service team was very friendly, courteous and professional. The ambience is really like in the dining room, only the high ceiling disturbs the otherwise homely atmosphere with candles, flowers and books etc. The greatest thing was, as expected, the food. Every course (the 8) was an experience in terms of taste, aesthetics and consistency and warmth!! We also give a small deduction for the service for the somelier. Without asking, he brought us two bottles that were already open. Since we didn't like the first one at all, it was actually unnecessary to offer us the second one, which was very similar. Instead of advice, we felt trapped in a bad promotional conversation for his two favorite wines (or because they were even open and had to go). When he offered us a white wine as an alternative, we took the second one. We would have expected more at this level. Conclusion: The food is really worth every visit and we would be happy to come back to correct the impression. Maybe we'll just bring a few red wine suggestions...or a bottle as an idea ;-))

My husband and I gave each other a visit to the EssZimmer restaurant for Christmas. We didn't regret the visit for a single second. It was a wonderful experience that you won't forget. The atmosphere is incredibly beautiful, the entire service team is extremely friendly and my vegetarian menu was sensational! The highlight of my menu was the Baesuk dessert. It was the best dessert I have ever eaten 😊🫶. Many thanks to the entire EssZimmer team for these unforgettable, beautiful moments of happiness 😊🍀. You are great!

An evening in a class of its own! You can expect an excellent meal. But this fantastic service and perfect wine accompaniment as well as the farewell by the boss himself far exceeded our expectations.

Disappointing. Not worth the high evaluation nor the price. The food was good up until the main course. Everything after that didn’t befit the high standard. The whine was rather lacking lacking from the beginning. The service also was only superficial. As soon as you expressed one wish, question or critic it crumbled like a house of cards. Our sommelier was only present for one of the seven courses. Apparently there were guests with personal connections, so all other guests got neglected. Same with the chef. In similar establishments the chef usually asks the guests wether they are content with the food. Here, the only time I got to see the chef, he made a very arrogant and stand-offish impression. All in all, I would not recommend this. You can find better establishments in Munich for that price.

The meal was an experience. There is a star for that. Unfortunately the service was so poor that I wouldn't recommend a visit. We were greeted with the dry words: We weren't expecting you at all. (Even though we called twice that my daughter was sick and we were late) We even had to get up at the end of the meal to look for staff and ask to be allowed to pay the high bill.

那天晚上我們正在慶祝生日，食物很美味，擺盤很好，氣氛很好。但對於服務部分，很難讓我相信這是米其林兩顆星，當然只是一些小錯誤，但可能是我們不會說德語，不能展示他們的全部實力，他們的團隊成員也很有耐心但不太注重細節，但無論如何我們都有一頓豐盛的晚餐和美好的回憶。

Bobby Bräuer war nicht zugegen (was erstmal nicht ungewöhnlich ist, da man auch als 2-Sterne Koch nicht jeden Tag in der Küche stehen kann). Auch Ireneo Tucci war nicht da und auch keiner der die Rolle des Sommeliers hätte erfüllen können. Es blieben einige Tische frei - auch für Spitzengastronomie scheint die derzeitige Lage nicht einfach zu sein. Wir waren die einzigen, die zum Sechs-Gang Menü eine Weinbegleitung hatten. Vielleicht weil der Wein hier derart sparsam eingeschenkt wird, dass er meist deutlich unter dem z.T. vorhandenen Eichstrich von 0,1l war. Bis auf leichtes Wissensdefizit beim Wein und einem wirklich nur leicht verschobenen Timing (ein paar mal deutlich zu schnell), waren die jungen Service-Damen sehr gut, nett und wirklich aufmerksam. Die Küche insgesamt machte uns mehr Sorgen - zwar war der Einstand mit heißer Steinpilzsuppe und schönen Amuse-Gueules plus warmen Brot sehr geglückt. Einige Gänge waren auf dem erwartbaren höchsten Niveau (Lachs mit Pflaumen sehr gelungen, Crab Vert und Jakobsmuscheln superlecker), aber leider gab es auch etliche Gänge, die wir jetzt nicht auf Top-Sterne-Niveau bewertet hätten. Die Reh-Tandoori Röllchen schmeckten aufgewärmt, der St. Petersfisch war nur okay und der Alte Gouda (mit Hagebutte, Granola und Fichte) war eine echte Qual. Überhaupt war alles eine Spur zu sehr lauwarm. Meine Frau hatte sich zu recht darüber aufgeregt, dass die kleinen schwarzen Schälchen in dem etwas in Fett raus gebackenes gereicht wurden, an mehreren Stellen angeschlagen waren. Kaputtes Geschirr hätten wir zuhause vermutlich entsorgt? Alles in allem dennoch ein schöner Abend und klagen auf hohem Niveau - aber zwischen unserem letzten Besuch und heute lagen Welten. Es wird heute wohl einfach nicht die beste Performance gewesen sein. Kommt vor.

We enjoyed a noteworthy dinner at Ed’s Zimmer in the BMW Welt in München. The service from start to finish was outstanding and friendly. The food was superb. The venue overlooks the BMW Welt which is a showroom and museum in a beautiful, modern building on the BMW campus. We had choice of 5 to 8 course tasting menu and selected 7 with wine pairings, We loved everything and were very impressed with the creativity of flavors and presentation. The restaurant is modern and lovely, I it is intimate. This is a pricey place but we thoroughly enjoyed the food, wine and experience. To os it was well worth the splurge and given level of chef, kitchen and staff, well worth it. Well done! This team has earned their Michelin 2 stars

A restaurant inside a museum...for me a big surprise, for its quality and surprising dishes, intense flavors with great delicacy...really impressive!

Unser vierter Besuch und natürlich wieder ein zu großer Abstand seit dem letzten Mal. Ich habe gerade nochmal meinem Bericht vom Juli 2021 gelesen und den kürzlich erlebten Abend reflektiert. Normalerweise gönnen wir uns so eine Art kulinarischen Abend eher an einem Samstag, aber diesmal war schon alles ausgebucht, so dass wir an einem Freitagabend nach einer anstrengende Woche vor Ort waren. Wie immer wurden wir erwartet, als der Fahrstuhl sich zum Restaurant öffnete. Die Jacke wurde mir abgenommen und wir wurden zu unserem mittlerweile schon Stammtisch geleitet. Schön, dass darauf geachtet wird. Die Frage nach einem Aperitif erfolgte zu schnell, gerade erst hatten wir Platz genommen und uns in dem noch relativ leeren Lokal, zumindest im vorderen Bereich, umgesehen. Diesmal gab es einen Rosé Champagner von Bollinger als Hausmarke. Er war nicht ganz so intensiv und fruchtig wie wir die bisherige Marke in Erinnerung hatten, aber dennoch gut. Der junge, sehr aufmerksame Sommelier vom letzten Besuch war leider nicht anwesend. Wir hatten uns auch diesmal gegen die Weinbegleitung entschieden. Stattdessen orderten wir einen Amarone, welcher schnell dekantiert wurde. Schon knapp 5 Minuten nach unsere Ankunft wurden die ersten Grüße aus der Küche gereicht. Boah, das geht aber diesmal fix. Spontan erinnerten wir uns an den letzten Besuch, als die Gäste gebeten wurden schon 18:30 Uhr zu erscheinen, da Restaurants bereits 22 Uhr schließen mussten. Für so ein Sternelokal eine echte Herausforderung. Unser geliebtes Brot wurde mit zwei verschiedenen Aufstrichen u.a. Misobutter gereicht. Wie immer köstlich, wenn auch diesmal nicht ganz so ölig. Diesmal lag kein persönlicher Speisenvorschlag auf meinem Platz. Stattdessen erhielt ich beide Karten und konnte zwischen Fleisch und Vegetarisch wählen. Ich entschied mich für 6 von 8 Gängen aus dem vegetarischen Menü sowie einen Fleischgang. Hier hatte ich lang überlegt, aber letzten Endes eine sehr gute Entscheidung. Das Rehkitz wurde in mehreren Varianten serviert. Zum Einen pur als Filet, zum Anderen im krossen Teigmantel, aber auch im Inneren eines Beignet in kleine Streifen. Wow. Dazu gab es beim Fettgebäck Rotkraut. Neben dem Fleisch wurde eine angeröstete Kerbelknolle sowie gegrillte Ananas serviert. Das ganze wurde von einer Tandoorisoße umrandet. Der Alte Gouda danach wurde mit Hagebutte, Granola und Fichte serviert. Schon der Teller war wie bei fast allen Gerichten eine Augenweide. Die Hagebutte war eine große Kugel, die beim Anschnitt leicht zerfloss. Himmlisch. Natürlich war auch der letzte Dessertgang ein Gedicht. Er bestand aus Ricotta, Pistazie, Vanille und Orangeat. Der Abschluss nach fast 4 Stunden war noch ein Gruß aus der Küche bestehend aus Salty Caramel Macarons sowie Tütchen mit Basilikum und einem Taler mit Creme und Banane. Es wurde empfohlen, sich zuerst dem Basilikum zu widmen. Das Gebäck war zwar gut aber leicht zäh. Der Taler mit der leicht gebräunten Banane ein Genuss. Wie immer ließ es sich Bobby Bräuer nicht nehmen, alle Gäste am Fahrstuhl zu verabschieden. Für diesen Abend hatten wir einen Uber zur Heimfahrt gebucht. Schön wäre es, wenn der Chauffeur-Service wieder zur Verfügung steht.

You have a choice of 5,6,7,8 couse meal and each one can pick differently. The sommelier is very knowledgeable. We ened up picking a dry German Reisling for 75 euro. An excellent price for an excellent wine.

Ein Abend der Superlative. Jeder Gang des fünf Gänge Menüs inklusive der vielen kleinen Zwischengänge war von herausragender Qualität . Eine unglaubliche Geschmacksexplosion. Die Speisen waren optisch einem kleinen Wunder gleichzusetzen. Geschmacklich umwerfend, eine Explosion von Aromen, Düften und der Geschmack unvergesslich. Das Ambiente war nicht nur einladend sondern zum Wohl fühlen gemacht. Der perfekt aufeinander abgestimmte Service ließ keine Wünsche offen. Die Weinbegleitung zum Menü war von exquisiter Qualität und wurde vom Sommelier hervorragend dargestellt . Alles in allem war es ein perfekt abgestimmter Abend…. absolutes Highlight.

Ein hervorragendes Restaurant. Wir hatten das 8-Gänge Menü mit "Weinreise". Es war gustatorisch ausgezeichnet und die korrespondierenden Weine fabelhaft. Der Service war stets höflich und zuvorkommend.

Die Auswahl an Speisen war sehr eigenartig (Hauptgang nur Taube und Kaninchen) und die Portionen waren winzig, aber dafür die 5 Gänge für 200€ hoffnungslos überteuert.

Wir hatten einen tollen Abend hier mit absolut großartigen Gerichten. Die 2 Sterne schmeckt man - absolut verdient ist diese hohe Auszeichnung! Dazu kommen eine angenehme Atmosphäre sowie ein erstklassiges Serviceteam. Besonders der Sommelier hat einen tollen Job gemacht und uns fantastisch beraten. Wir kommen wieder.

Well if in Bavaria you must visit the spiritual home of BMW why not include a Michelin restaurant. Not only was the food amazing but the service was outstanding. Highly recommend the experience.

Wir waren zu zweit in diesem wirklich tollen Restaurant. Von der online-Reservierung, über Empfang, Essen und Service war alles perfekt. Sehr, sehr professionelles Team mit Top Sommelier und wirklich überragenden Essen. Selten so phantastisch gegessen. Vielen Dank für diese tolle Erfahrung!

Wir waren heute zu Gast im Esszimmer. Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und geben zu jeder Frage sachkundige Auskunft. Die Erklärungen zur Weinbegleitung war kompetent , nett und sehr persönlich. Man(n) lernt mit jedem der acht Gänge dazu. Danke für den schönen, n etten Abend an das Team.

Everything was just perfect. Starting with the food and the wine pairing. Service is very careful and friendly. Even if the location could look strange (BMW Vault) the dining room is very nice and offers a spectacular view over the showroom.

3 Stunden, 3 Gänge und Grüsse aus der Küche. Warum derart lang? „Nur gut gemeint“ lernen wir als als doch noch eine Hauptspeise kommt. Wirkt nicht überzeugend. Und so ist ist das Hauptproblem des Abends leider der gesamte Service. Die Personalnot der Gatsronomie hat offenbar auch Köfer nicht verschont, ok. Aber: Engagement und Kenntnis der wenigen Preise sollten auch Quereinsteiger und Anfänger einbringen können. Und - nicht wichtig, aber Michelin lässt grüssen: Man darf beim Einschenken auch die Mittelstürmer-Position verlassen. Wer sich wie wir statt für 7 oder 5 nur für 3 Gänge entscheidet, kann nur mit Hilfe des leckeren Brots satt werden. Hätte man vorher mit google-Bilder-Suche checken können, ja. Da wir aber bislang nur normale Portionen aus dem Stammhaus kannten, gab es den Reflex nicht. Das zudem nur 2 x 15 € von 200€ pro Person des 5 Gänge-Preises abgezogen werden, hätte man befürchten, aber schwer ahnen können. Das ein 0,1 Glas Weisswein über 20€ kostet, könnte irgendwo in der Karte stehen. Eine ganze Flasche ist privat für 30€ zu kaufen - im Einkauf wohl für die Hälfte. Sorry, aber das ist unredlich - und ja, man selber schuld. 400€ auf der Rechnung, zu Zweit für einen insgesamt enttäuschen Abend, bei dem man sich beim finalen feedback an Kellnerin und Leitung des Restaurants zudem noch wie Bittsteller fühlen darf: Sehr schade. Gewürdigt mit Blicken, die sagen wollen, man müsse ja nicht wiederkommen. Leider richtig. Wir haben schon viel in der Welt gesehen, einfachst und teuerst gegessen, das gestrige Diner ist leider schwer zu toppen.

Von 19:15Uhr bis 0:15Uhr waren wir fünf Stunden in den besten Händen im dritten Obergeschoss der BMW Welt. Das Essen war phantastisch. Die Weinbegleitung eine klare Empfehlung zum Menü. Unsere rauchenden Gäste haben regelmässig die Terrasse im zweiten OG aufgesucht - da kommt auch Abwechslung auf. Insgesamt ist das EssZimmer sehr zu empfehlen - wir freuen uns immer wenn wir auf absolute Profis in Service und Küche treffen.

Unser Besuch vor Corona hätte 6 Sterne verdient und wir schwärmen heute noch davon. Natürlich war deshalb auch die Vorfreude sehr groß. Das Ambiente ist immer noch großartig, die Speisen auf höchstem Niveau und alle Service Mitarbeiter nach wie vor ausgesprochen freundlich. Und doch war es diesmal anders, aber 5 Punkte gibt es auf jeden Fall trotzdem. Dem Service hat es diesmal an der gewohnten Aufmerksamkeit und Professionalität gefehlt, nicht jedes Gericht hat uns umgehauen und die hohen Erwartungen wurden nicht mehr ganz erfüllt. Trotzdem auch diesmal ein positives Erlebnis und ein wunderschöner Abend. Hinweis: Alle getätigten Aussagen spiegeln ausschließlich meine eigene persönliche Meinung / Erfahrung wieder.

2 Michelin Star cuisine at perfection. For foodies here some facts what makes it special. They offer 2 menue versions and you can also change courses between them. They also offer an alcohol-free wine pairing and a BMW 7 Series shuttle service (free of charge). Service is very professional and friendly. I can only recommend.

In (über) einem "Autohaus" ein Gourmetdinner (2 Sterne) zu genießen ist schon etwas sehr Spezielles. Tolle Geschmackskompositionen in traniger Atmosphäre und der Chef ist sichtbar und erklärt gern seine Philosophie. Das "Runtergeleiere" des Servicepersonals was man dort jeweils auf dem Teller hat ist etwas gestelzt und niemand kann sich das auch nur einigermaßen merken. Muss man aber eigentlich auch nicht.

We eat at Michelin restaurants regularly. On our recent trip to Europe Esszimmer was one of four such visits. The presentation is utterly faultless. 100/100. The service is so well choreographed it could be on the west end stage. A large table with 8 people on it all got served simultaneously with 4 service staff. And therein lies my only pedantic fault picking - that in being so slick and so well organised it borderlines on impersonal. The reviewers from Michelin want to see that I know - but for us it just took away from that personal touch which would have made Esszimmer the best restaurant we've ever eaten in. The service was very good and the personnel were excellent - it just felt like it lacked sincerity at times. Each to their own. The taste profiles were slightly on the safe side at times, but equally we could not find a single dish in the entire meal that either one of us disliked. It was truly exceptional. If this restaurant was sat on the top of the Alps instead of looking down on the BMW showroom I'm sure it would have 3 stars - that's what would sway a Michelin reviewer. But not us.....we would like to see a more personal approach. Nonetheless, what a place. If you're in Munich you absolutely must go, It's magnificent.

Das Esszimmer ist wirklich ein Erlebnis. Der Empfang ist zuvorkommend und das Serviceteam sehr aufmerksam und kompetent. Die Speisen waren alle köstlich und die Qualität top! Die Weinauswahl lässt keine Wünsche offen. Insgesamt hatten wir einen unvergesslichen Abend!

We had a six course tasting dinner here. The food generally tasted great, and it was elegantly presented. However, there were a few dishes that felt odd: the ham in the truffle "special" was very salty and felt out of place under a ton of spinach foam. The dish with scallops was nice, but for some reason there was scoop of fish tartar hiding in the middle — and that tasted significantly more of fish and the sea than the rest of the dish. I enjoyed the wines a lot, but the house cocktail was a (presumably very good) German sparkling wine (Sekt) with a splash of thyme and berry syrup: that didn't do anything good for the wine and it ended up looking like something you would serve as a kid's party. Im sure the syrup was homemade and excellent on its own, but I had expected something more for the "house" cocktail. We were served by a flurry of polite and friendly waiters. I would have liked them to explain the dishes more slowly (they did so when we asked). The six courses were too much for both of us (especially with all the small surprise dishes served in-between). Next time we'll go for five and I'll probably go for the vegetarian menu instead to see what the kitchen can do in this direction.

Wir haben am Wochenende einen Geburtstag gefeiert. Das Essen und der Service waren ausgezeichnet. Auf Allergien wurde ohne Probleme eingegangen. Wir haben sogar ein handsigniertes Buch vom Chef höchstpersönlich bekommen. Tausend Dank an das ganze Team Esszimmer für diesen tollen und unvergesslichen Abend.

Tolles und einzigartiges Erlebnis. Herr Bräuer und sein Team sind sehr authentisch und jede Person bringt sich auf seine Art ein. Man spürt als Gast die Werte wo bei diesem Konzept gelebt werden. Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Abend zu zweit, wurden herzlichst willkommen geheißen und vorzüglich bewirtet. Der Service war überaus freundlich und zuvorkommend. Dabei keineswegs aufdringlich. Perfekt!! Die Küche, ein Traum. Jeder Gang eine Überraschung und geschmacklich raffiniert und auf den Punkt abgeschmeckt. Auch beim Ambiente wurde hier alles richtig gemacht. Weiter so!

Located on the top floor of the BMW Welt, you have an amazing view along with very good food. We had the 6 course meal and it was pretty good. Deducting a star as I felt one of the staff was a bit rude to an African couple who had come without a reservation. Of course there is a polite way of asking them to leave without being rude! No complaints about the food actually!

Grandioses Essen mit perfektem Service in tollem Ambiente.

Ein wirklich perfekter Abend, hier stimmt einfach alles, vom aufmerksamen Service bis hin zur feinen Küche, sogar die Innenarchitektur und das Setting sind einmalig. Highlights: Das Hauptdessert (tolle Einbindung von Curry), die vielen kleinen Häppchen (Hut ab vor dem Entremetier) und das Brot samt Aufstriche. Chef Bräuer ist mir sehr sympathisch.

I really wanted to love this restaurant because of the location. But the food for me lacked a lot of creativity and flavour. Even our chicken was not served hot. The service was good but it was a shame to see the floor manager constantly chastising one of the staff.

Immer noch sehr kreative und ausgezeichnete Küche. Leider kein Fahrservice mehr. Bis auf die manchmal schwierige Reservierungslage absolut top.

Freundliches Personal, nicht allzu hohe Preise, delikate Speisen, allerdings fehlt es an Wohlfühl-Atmosphäre, das liegt wohl an den baulichen Bedingungen und ist wahrscheinlich auch nicht änderbar.

Wunderbar gemütliches Ambiente, tolle Location und Architektur, herzlicher Service und phantastische Küche. Hier stimmt einfach alles. Die Stilistik der Küche würde ich als "entspannte Kreativität" bezeichnen: in sich ruhende, präzise Geschmackskompositionen, die ohne Effekthascherei auskommen und einfach lecker sind. Sommelier Frank Glüer ist ein großartiger Gastgeber und berät fachkundig zum Thema Wein. Pairing ist sehr treffsicher und die Weinauswahl originell, ohne den Gast mit ständigen "Hast-du-noch-nicht-gesehen"-Tricks zu nerven. Fazit: ganz ausgezeichnet.
