Les Deux is by far the best restaurant in Munich. The brasserie on the ground floor offers incredibly good and sophisticated cuisine! The staff is exceptionally attentive and personable, catering perfectly to each guest. The menu changes seasonally and always features fresh and expertly prepared dishes, from oysters and game to vegetarian options – there's truly something for everyone! While the prices are on the higher end, this is justified by the outstanding cuisine, attentive service, and fresh ingredients. Anyone dining in the brasserie of a Michelin-starred restaurant should expect this. However, the value for money is very fair.

An unhygienic restaurant and dishonest owner- Fabrice K. PLEASE DO NOT DISTORT THE FACT ON GOOGLE REVIEW. ON 21 OCTOBER 2025: 1. I noticed visible dust inside our wine glass, it looks like fragments of paper towel, so I hold it gently with my one hand to check. THE FACT IS: Owner shout loud at us "DO NOT BREAK MY GLASS!!" 2. I then asking nicely "There is some dust inside, can we change one?" As consumer rights, I assumed I have the rights to change the tableware if found unclean. THE FACT IS: Owner said "I KNOW" with an unpleasant face, ignoring our request and walked away. 3. On my previous google review, owner claimed that we brought a wine "uncorked" which is also listed on his menu. Sounds we did not follow the rules. THE FACT IS: We have contacted the restaurant before our arrival to check the rule, a female receptionist told us welcome to bring and Corkage Fee is 90 euro per bottle. (I have all the communication record) 4. Owner also claimed that the staff was marked unfriendly by us and he replied "deeply regret" on previous google review. THE FACT IS: The person who being unfriendly was the Owner, not the staff. A male server witnessed all and come apologies to us on behalf of the owner. Server even told us "The Owner is in a bad mood today". 5. I believed the gold standard of a Michelin Star restaurant NOT ONLY about delicious food and ambience, but also about hygiene, attitude and respect to all race (Asian like us). I've trusted Michelin guidance and went to their awarded restaurant for so many years, this is THE FIRST TIME I had such disgraceful experience. With such dining experience, I shall let Michelin to review it.

I had dinner at Les Deux – Brasserie and it was an amazing experience. The atmosphere is elegant and calm, giving you the feel of fine dining without being overly formal. The service was excellent, with the staff being friendly and attentive to every detail. Honestly, this is one of the best restaurants in Munich. I recommend making a reservation in advance as it tends to get quite busy, especially during dinner time. Overall, it was a memorable evening, and I’d definitely come back again.

Whether gourmet or brasserie, for us it's the best restaurant in Munich. Whenever we're in town, Le Deux is a must. There's absolutely nothing here to criticize or find fault with. Simply put, that's exactly how modern gastronomy works. The service is friendly, attentive, always there, but never intrusive. The cuisine is perfect, every course a highlight. The ambiance is modern, not over-the-top, but still elegant. Our two four-legged friends are always warmly welcomed and always generously supplied with water. And you won't believe it, they don't charge for dog water. Le Deux is simply recommended. And what's right here, unlike many other Michelin-starred restaurants, is the value for money. I arrived at the restaurant and wanted a table for two people, but the waiter refused to let us in without a reservation. The excuse was that there were no empty tables, even though the restaurant was empty, especially since it was 6 pm. I went to the website to make a reservation and found that reservations were available, but he didn’t help me make a reservation at the same time!!

We had an excellent restaurant experience – the main courses were extremely tasty and completely satisfied. However, the dessert selection was unfortunately very limited and disappointing in terms of taste. What irritated us most was the inappropriate practice: We were served bread and butter as a "compliment," without having ordered it beforehand – and were subsequently charged €6 for it. We found this absolutely incomprehensible.

It’s hard to exaggerate how wonderful our meals were at Les Deux Brasserie. It was near our hotel and we were looking for something other than the usual Munich Bavarian fare. Our first meal there was lunch on the beautiful patio. Great setting, fun people watching, and attentive and friendly/welcoming service. Our choices at lunch included the gazpacho, the gnocchi, and the steamed cod. All were incredibly well prepared and presented and absolutely delicious! My previous experiences with Michelin Star restaurants is that the food can be fussy and not particularly satisfying. That’s not the case at all at Les Deux! The food is incredibly delicious and satisfying. So we went back for dinner and had an equally great experience. Our server again was a young gentleman from Croatia who took great care of us. Our dinner choices included burrata salad, beef tartare, Kikok chicken, grilled St. Pierre, and the steak frites. I’d never tried beef tartar even though I enjoy very rare steak, and the beef tartar at Les Deux was a revelation. I see why so many people were ordering it. I also appreciate that you can tell that every bite of food at Les Deux is clearly sourced from the very best providers. As a fairly decent cook myself, I can tell when the ingredients in a dish are the absolute best available. And did I mention, in my opinion, Les Deux is very reasonably priced? We may never get back to Munich, but the memories of the perfect meals we had at Les Deux will remain with me. Thank you to all of the folks at Les Deux who make it happen.

You are not sitting supr close to the next guests which is a plus. The restrooms can be reached via elevator as they are down 2 floors. I can only recommend this place!

We celebrated our wedding anniversary here and were absolutely blown away. The flavor creations are simply little miracles. With each course, we were more and more amazed. Everything was just perfect. The sommelier, host, and service staff were all top-notch, fun, and efficient. Everyone contributed, was attentive, and showed real commitment to Les Deux. The wine (we gladly opted for the sommelier’s wine pairing) was simply fabulous. One wine was a blend of five vintages, another was my first Viognier, and the wine served with the pre-dessert was from Piedmont and had a wonderful cherry aroma. The service staff answered all our questions and were excellently informed. All in all, a real 5-star experience of the highest class. Here, 'The Bear' or 'The Taste' is truly brought to life in Munich. Nathalie Lablond is a magician who manages to nail taste, presentation, and aroma so perfectly that the price is more than justified. Thank you!

The downside is that the toilets in the restroom are very low. Everything else is great! Special thanks for the soap and hand cream of a famous brand! Comfortable seats inside and outside. Good, not great. The food was mostly good, just not quite worth the premium price tag. The “shrimp cocktail” was tiny shrimp covered in a creamy mayo like sauce on toast… average at best. The duck liver was excellent. The servers were kind, but very delayed in bringing our food. We ordered everything immediately, but dinner was still over 2.5 hours. Our kids were watching shows at the table by the end. It was good, just not nearly worth the very steep price tag.

Review of the gourmet restaurant on the first floor: A Michelin-starred restaurant in downtown Munich, located in an architecturally interesting building in the Fünf Höfe district. What stands out at Les Deux from the first to the last minute is the outstanding service. Attentive, charming, articulate, always on hand, but never to the point where you feel like you're being watched. The 6-course menu is beyond reproach. Arranged on the plate with great attention to detail, with subtle nuances of flavor and the interplay of the individual ingredients. Currently featuring lobster, mackerel, and lobster with a focus on aquatic animals, it concludes with a pigeon dish, which some might prefer to replace with an alternative, as it can be a bit tough or stringy depending on the piece. Apart from that, among the other outstanding courses, only the pre-dessert, a Magnum-style ice cream, falls somewhat short, as it is too sweet, too large in relation to the other courses, and difficult to eat in its current composition. The asking price for the menu is still more than reasonable. The drink prices can be described as assertive, not uncommon in the restaurant industry, but here, at €10 per bottle of water or €25 for a glass of a good, but not exquisite, rosé champagne, they're on the higher end. We had a fantastic evening and look forward to our next visit. 5 stars for the gourmet restaurant. Update to the previous review of the brasserie on the ground floor, Oct. 21: The Brasserie Les Deux on the ground floor has significantly raised its prices following a change of head chef and has eliminated the more reasonably priced dishes without replacement. Therefore, the brasserie is no longer an insider tip. Depending on the server, the service continues to be either outstanding or average for the price. The latter was observed especially outside. The menu selection now ranges from €30+ for main courses, with one or two exceptions. The quality is very good to excellent, but the price level here is still not entirely justified. After our last two visits under new management, our enthusiasm for the brasserie has waned.

Business dinner for 4. Two arrived early and ordered a beer. They were out of beer! (that’s a first time experience in Munich!!). They pushed a glass of wine instead (not really what we wanted), so you would expect that at least to be complimentary. Not so - fully charged. Just not good style. Food was good - we all got the set menu. Sitting outside was pleasant. Total bill +400 Euro. The waiter then asked for a 10% tip!! Is this something new in Europe?? I understand tipping in the US where waiters are paid very little. And other low-paying countries. I believe waiters are paid fairly in Germany, or? Maybe just taking advantage of foreigners - we were a mix from 3 continents. Overall, good food and ambiance. Poor service for a restaurant claiming to be fine dining and that unfortunately put a dent in the experience.

Regrettable experience. More than an hour to bring two cold starters, and after another additional hour without serving us the mains, we asked for the bill (by the way, not cheap) and left. Les Deux is a very good restaurant for all aspects: food, service and atmosphere. The portion is surprisingly large for a Michelin starred restaurant and the sparkling tea drink is amazing. We went for lunch at the Brasserie and the lunch menu was pretty good. The main might look like a traditional German dish with pork and potato puree, but they managed to infuse some fine dining zest to the Iberico pork. Overall a very good choice for a nice meal at the heart of Munich.

Four of us were guests in the gourmet restaurant on a Friday evening. The entire evening was impeccable, the food, the wine and the service were excellent. We felt very comfortable and welcome. Les Deux Brasserie: My favorite address in Munich for fine dining during the week. The dishes are all of the highest quality, taste perfect and beautifully presented on the plate. The service is perfect and yet warm, you immediately feel at home here. The drinks advice is tailored to your personal preferences and is ideal for dining. The whole thing takes place in a beautifully modern atmosphere, the brasserie is simply the perfect complement to the Les Deux gourmet restaurant.

We ate with friends in the “Brasserie” on a Monday evening. Three chose the 3-course menu, I ordered à la carte. The starters and food tasted quite good so far, although not outstanding. The really bitter thing about the evening was the endless amount of time we had to wait. First it took over half an hour for our cocktails to arrive for the aperitif (“sorry, there's so much going on at the bar right now” - which shouldn't be our problem). Our main courses arrived 2 1/2 (sic!) hours after we were there ("sorry, so much is being ordered in the restaurant upstairs and it's the same kitchen and the restaurant has priority" - aha, but that shouldn't be our problem either ). We did get a kind of “in-between drink” on the house to sweeten the waiting time, but that only helped to a limited extent. The service staff should better coordinate and divide up the tables; two of us kept asking for the same things (“another water?” for example), which were then brought several times. We will try other restaurants with upscale food next time before we try again here...

Well, as a know nothing about French cuisine person, I had a blast at Les Deux. The knowledgeable Maître d was able to recommend a 2013 Taittinger over the similar vintages Dom Perignon. It did not disappoint. I randomly pointed at the menu and ate what was served. I think everything tastes better with champagne, no?

On day 1 of my five-day stay in Munich, I went to Les Deux, located in the old town, which houses both a brasserie and a Michelin-starred gourmet restaurant under one roof. In the latter, located on the first floor of a modern wedge-shaped courtyard building, I have reserved a table at which I sit down with excitement and anticipation, because Les Deux has an excellent reputation. Not only because, for example, Edip Sigl, Germany's youngest newcomer to the 3-star league, even won a second Michelin star for the house in 2020, but above all because patron Fabrice Kieffer, one of the best hosts in the Bavarian capital, is concerned about the well-being of the guests takes care of guests. Four of us ate in the brasserie on a Monday evening. The food was really very good. However, we waited a whopping two hours for our main course from the time we arrived. Unfortunately, the attempt to compensate for this with a free round of drinks and a sorbet was only half successful, as this only happened after we had subtly expressed our dissatisfaction with the slow service. The service staff then tried to keep us happy (see above) and apologized. Overall, unfortunately an evening with a pale aftertaste...

The menu, without a doubt, is terrific. But the real highlight is: the service. A perfectly coordinated, silent, highly professional and at the same time very friendly and personal team, led and inspired by the boss of the house - you rarely experience something like that. The brasserie at Les Deux was a great find with a modern menu. Every dish was prepared with a great attention to detail. The veal tongue salad was a wonderful stater. The meat was tender with a great crunch from the radishes and pickled cucumbers, with the creamy dressing pulling it all together. The steak au poivre with fries was also delicious. The tender steak was paired with a wonderful pepper sauce and crispy fries. And let’s talk about the dessert. The Pavlova looks stunning on the plate. And it tastes as good as it looks. The walnuts add a surprising crunch and work well with the raspberry, merengue, and curd cheese. My waiter Ono recommended the pavlova and he was right it was delicious. The service was excellent.

Great food and wine selection. But way too many waiters which keep running like crazy and killing the ambience. Also, pay attention to the volume of wine when you order. Here if you say a glass, you get 0.2 and not 0.1l. I hate when cheap restaurants are doing this and certainly didn't expect this attitude here

We decided to go to the Brasserie and was disappointing. The menu was conservative and nothing special, the food was ok but overpriced. The red wine was served straight from the fridge, unbelievable. The service was ok. We left hungry. I would not recommend and will not come back. We went celebrating a special occasion and ended up being very disappointed.

The reception and seating by a lady at the entrance was friendly and professional. Shortly afterwards, the service staff put the menu in front of us without saying a word – without asking whether we would like water or an aperitif. Our order was also taken wordlessly and demonstratively disinterested. That's why the service employee had to ask again after five minutes what we had actually ordered as the main courses. The wrong aperitifs were then served - and after a long wait - completely wrong starters. General confusion among staff, but no apology. After three quarters of an hour we had our first course in front of us: good, but nothing special. The main course arrived in the normal time frame, although at least one of the main courses was really very good. We were not asked if we would like wine with the main course. When asked about a wine recommendation, the waiter said: “Take the Chardonnay – it goes well with everything.” (!) We are very familiar with this level of service from the “Brasserie” as well as the “Les Deux Restaurant”.

We'd been wanting to visit this Munich institution for a long time – and we finally made it. The evening was lovely overall, but unfortunately also marred by some disappointments that one wouldn't expect in a restaurant with such a reputation. Architecturally, Tantris is in a class of its own. The iconic 70s design creates a unique, nostalgic flair. Our table in the center of the restaurant was beautifully positioned, and we thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. However, the service left much to be desired. Right from the start, we had to wait about half an hour for our four drinks. When they finally arrived, one of them was wrong – it was replaced promptly, but without an apology. This lack of care and attention unfortunately persisted throughout the entire evening. The waiters seemed disinterested, and the presentation of the dishes sometimes appeared unprofessional (quote: "We used the leftover venison in the pâté"). The food was solid – technically well-prepared, but neither truly convincing in its creativity nor its presentation. We also found the lack of any interplay of textures in the food lacking. Many dishes were visually unappealing and simply presented. The service was exceptionally slow: the first course didn't arrive until about 1.5 hours after our arrival. By then, we had eaten plenty of Jessie's excellent homemade bread to stave off our hunger. The bread and the visually and tastefully impressive amuse-bouche became the unsung heroes of the evening – after that, things unfortunately went downhill. In conclusion: A traditional establishment with an impressive ambiance – but one that fell far short of our expectations in terms of service and culinary inspiration.

A must in Munich. Most fine restaurants have one or two memorable courses. Each course at Showroom was its own masterpiece with unbelievable subtle complexity in flavors. The team was so gracious and approachable as opposed to a "stuffy" Michelin restaurant. I can't recommend Showroom highly enough.
