Great service, great food, not exactly cheap but worth every cent, we'll be happy to come back.

We were there for my birthday, and it was excellent! I was asked in advance if I had any special requests, and on the day itself, I was pampered beyond measure. 10/10 We sat in the rustic fireplace room. We will be back!

It was a wonderful evening, with great food, a cozy atmosphere, and excellent service. I was last there about 20 years ago, and it was a joy then, and it still is today. Thank you so much.

C'mon, you know how it is when you're in the moment celebrating a Meisterschale. Besides, we promise to bring the cockatoo back next year when we win the sextuple. There is no need to call the Munich police, they are busy preparing for the Marienplatz celebrations. We'll make sure your cockatoo is well cared for, bathed in champagne and returned safely...

Käfer-Schänke has been a beloved part of Munich’s high society for generations — my mother came here as a young woman, so it was the perfect place to celebrate her 80th birthday. The attention to detail was incredible: rose petals on the table, a handwritten birthday note, and a beautifully wrapped box of Käfer chocolates. Without even asking, they brought out a dessert with sparklers — such a thoughtful surprise! The food was outstanding, and the whole evening was truly unforgettable. Thank you for making it so special!

We recently celebrated an 80th birthday dinner at Käfer with a party of four, and the experience was truly memorable. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with a beautifully decorated table, complete with a thoughtful gift box and a personalized note — such a lovely and unexpected touch that set the tone for the evening. The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely caring throughout the night. The seasonal menu offered a great variety, including excellent vegetarian options and every dish was presented with outstanding attention to detail. We started with finger food which were tiny canapés, would necessarily repeat these, followed by the seafood platter, which was beautifully arranged and mostly delicious — though a few items were definitely for more adventurous palates! The steak tartar was a highlight — the meat quality was exceptional, fresh and flavorful. And whatever you do, don’t miss out on the Spaghetti Ice. Not only is it delicious, but the way it’s prepared right at the table adds a touch of showmanship that made it a fun and memorable ending to the meal. A fantastic experience overall — Käfer made this milestone celebration feel truly special.

Tip top, quiet evening on May 2nd. (That was probably different on May 3rd with Bayern players celebrating :) Good advice on food and wine selection. Pleasant atmosphere, we sat outside on the balcony. The rooms inside are also very nice. Prices are robust but this should be known when booking. It's on our list for the next visit to Munich

An unforgettable evening in a beautiful room, perfect service and wonderful food!

Yesterday we weren't greeted in the restaurant, but welcomed like old friends. It was wonderful and we got a nice table by the window. We were looked after by Marco and every wish was immediately fulfilled. Be it asparagus with schnitzel or Irish beef fillet with wild broccoli. Once again it was delicious. For dessert, we were able to add vanilla ice cream to the Kaiserschmarrn and were completely happy with the well-mixed apple spritzer and blackcurrant spritzer. Marco was always nearby and was professional, polite and accommodating in everything. A wonderful afternoon. Only the background music was a bit too loud and too poppy, which the older regulars also disliked. Nevertheless, we would like to thank the entire team

We always like to shop at Käfer when we are in Munich. Exceptional salads and the finest cakes and cookies. We are also fascinated by the fruit department. Staff very polite, unfortunately that was different.

Organized a lunch there for my pregnant wife and her friends. The team was super helpful in planning, all wishes regarding food could be taken into account and the private room was very nicely decorated. The food was very good, the service was attentive and the atmosphere was wonderful. Price was okay for the quality, very good service and privacy. Many thanks to the team. Highly recommended for small celebrations and private gatherings with friends. We also go there for dinner from time to time and are always satisfied!

The Käfer-Schänke in Munich (although the name Schänke doesn't do justice to the beautiful restaurant) has become my new favorite restaurant. The lunch menu tasted excellent and was presented very attractively. It is offered at a fair price/performance ratio. The wine selection was appropriate. The service at the table was friendly, but could have been a little more attentive. In addition to the 3-course lunch menu, we also ordered the scallops gratin as an intermediate course, which was no problem at all. There is a pleasant atmosphere throughout the house. The individual areas - from stylish modern to classic interiors - are all decorated differently and all look very appealing. A reservation is recommended and can easily be made online. You can easily shop in the delicatessen, which is located on the ground floor, and buy a variety of delicacies to take home. The entire location is an experience that is highly recommended. We'll be back soon and are really looking forward to it. Cashless payment is possible. The parking situation is a bit difficult, but we found one.

We really enjoyed our evening at Käfer Schänke, especially the delicious food! The “Dry January” cocktail options were particularly positive as we are giving up alcohol this month and it was a great way to do so in an enjoyable way.

I had the highest recommendations from my friends and that's why I came to this restaurant. Overall, everything was fine and the restaurant itself is very beautiful, but I ordered beef a la Rossini and there was no foie gras. I was surprised and asked the waiter if this is how it should be according to the recipe? To which the waiter went to ask the kitchen and returned with the answer that he apologizes, but they forgot to put it. And asked if they should bring it to me separately? They brought it separately, but the essence of the dish disappeared, although separately both the meat and foie gras were good, but still I went to the restaurant for the flavor combinations. For a fairly expensive restaurant, just good products are not enough.

Company Christmas party at the Beetle. I was already looking forward to it 4 weeks in advance and the Käfer company delivered. Food: very good. Seafood selection (I don't really like it that much, but even I liked this one), duck pate (I would never have stopped eating this pate, but at some point I finished it), lobster soup, beef fillet (so tender, incredibly tasty) and raspberry tart. They were able to wheel us out after the varied menu. The service was excellent. We've also had waiters at the Beetle who aggressively presented themselves as salespeople. Our service this week was quick, polite, unobtrusive, perfect. We'll be back. Addition 2024: What are these two men doing, playing strange Christmas songs in an intrusive way, on an evening like this? You wash it down with a sip of wine. It was over after 5 minutes. Everything else remained great!

Classic that is always a safe bet! Here you can sit back and relax and know that you are in good hands. We treat ourselves to the private room every time we visit, and what can I say? It's a pleasure every time. A bit like coming home – only with better food and fancier furniture. The employees? Simply great! Friendly, attentive and with the perfect level of professionalism without appearing stiff. You can tell that there is a well-rehearsed team at work here that enjoys giving guests a good time. If you don't know the Käferschänke yet, you should change that as soon as possible. A place that combines tradition, quality and a pinch of charm - always worth a visit!

Get a table for two without booking in advance. The food was very exquisite and super full-bodied. Here you know something about cooking and presenting delicious dishes! Friendly and quick service completes an excellent overall picture. Very small drawback, somewhat limited selection of non-alcoholic drinks.

A cozy restaurant with excellent service, cuisine, and interior design. On the first floor, there is a shop where you can buy Christmas souvenirs. The traditional duck was superb! I have only the best memories of this restaurant.

Foie Gras de Canard was good, as were the scallops, unfortunately the sautéed spinach was over-salted, which greatly affected the flavor of the seafood. But the really annoying thing was: the champagne wasn't poured at the table and didn't have much bubbles left (bottle no longer fresh!?). This probably doesn't meet the demands of H. Käfer...and you can also expect top freshness for €22 in Munich.

I went to the Käfer for dinner with my two daughters and my grandson of 17 months. As you can imagine, it's not that easy with a small child. But here in the Beetle that's not a problem. I had the opportunity to eat in this restaurant for a company convention with Audi. The special dishes they offered us were very good, furthermore the location is very traditional and has a truly immense market in the basement. Full of local delicacies and an endless variety of wines of all kinds. Truly recommended experience

In summary: It was, again, very, very nice in the Käfer Schänke. Whether from the personal welcome when you come up the stairs, to the service at the table to the farewell, very pleasant and professional. Very tasty food in a nice atmosphere. The drinks menu also leaves nothing to be desired. But what deserves special mention is the warm, friendly and professional service. A perfect host with a HONEST smile on his face the entire evening.

The side dishes, especially the potatoes, were also perfectly cooked. After the main course I tried the chocolate cake together with the sauce, it was really a pleasure and melted in the mouth. The service was quick, the waiters were always friendly and responded to all my requests

My friends and I booked a private room for a pre-fixed dinner and had the best time. The food and wine were absolutely delicious and the service was outstanding. Our server let us take our time between courses and let us hang around to have drinks after dinner. He was very attentive, especially with making sure our wine glasses were full. They also gave us a speaker and allowed us to play whatever music we wanted, which made the evening a blast. It was a perfect mix of fine dining and fun. If we ever return to Munich, we will definitely be back!

Always worth a visit. Very friendly service, food good at any time of the day and almost inexpensive for Munich. Wines Food and everything you need for cooking Bread Fish Seafood Spices Meat and vegetables Special foods and ready meals are also available.

Our lunch experience at Käfer restaurant didn’t satisfy me and my friends. At first , everything was amazing and on time. My friend that lives in Munich was at that place several times. It is an elegant and luxury place where you expect the same level of service. I ordered the white truffle pasta (56€ ). When the dish was at the table I tried it and unfortunately the cook didn’t do it in a correct way. It was full of milk cream and there was not even a taste of the right Italian pasta. It was also so sweet, that sound strange but unfortunately it was like that. When I asked the waiter to take it back , that waiter didn’t apologize and say anything. When we asked for a bill, the price of a pasta was there and we had a small not a nice discussion with our waiter K. that a bit laughed at us by saying “ everybody like it , why don’t you” - so not in a respectful way. Definitely this kind of people that don’t have patience and respect to the guests shouldn’t work in hospitality business. So at the end we asked for a manager and we clearly explained our position but the fun thing that when he brought a new bill we saw just a price of the truffle itself ( 28€). I have never seen this in the restaurant business and in such a qualified as we thought restaurant. So I stayed hungry and upset after coming to Käfer restaurant.

Very nice atmosphere, food delicious.

It's simply worth it - as a guest you feel completely at home, you are well looked after and have a brilliant selection of food and drinks. Always a good choice for simply treating yourself or for special occasions. The excellent service also plays its part in making you feel really welcome and seen there, without any celebrity status.

Food was great, but the service was better. Waiters were knowledgeable and entertaining. Surprisingly, the restaurant itself did not look very special. The open kitchen was nice, but most guests sit far away.

If you love things upscale, prefer loving food and drinks to fast food and simply value quality and enjoyment, Käfer is the right place for you. The very courteous service, the very tasty food and the cozy furnishings and seating take the enjoyment to new heights. We like to be guests on site often and always look forward to experiencing true enjoyment among a pleasant audience at Käfers Schänke.

Great place to grab some breads or sandwiches and either sit in their garden by the entrance or take with you to a park close by. First class breads and cold cuts plus excellent coffee. Their fleischsalat is some of the best in the city.

Food and service were great. Overall a great experience. The prices are a bit high but justified in my opinion. Would come back at any time
