A culinary experience in a class of its own! We celebrated my birthday with the family. Excellent cuisine, first-class service and a charming ambience at the highest level. Every dish is prepared with attention to detail. The staff is warm, attentive and makes the evening perfect. A must for connoisseurs and gourmets – I’ll definitely be back!

The Käfer-Schänke in Munich (although the name Schänke doesn't do justice to the beautiful restaurant) has become my new favorite restaurant. The lunch menu tasted excellent and was presented very attractively. It is offered at a fair price/performance ratio. The wine selection was appropriate. The service at the table was friendly, but could have been a little more attentive. In addition to the 3-course lunch menu, we also ordered the scallops gratin as an intermediate course, which was no problem at all. There is a pleasant atmosphere throughout the house. The individual areas - from stylish modern to classic interiors - are all decorated differently and all look very appealing. A reservation is recommended and can easily be made online. You can easily shop in the delicatessen, which is located on the ground floor, and buy a variety of delicacies to take home. The entire location is an experience that is highly recommended. We'll be back soon and are really looking forward to it. Cashless payment is possible. The parking situation is a bit difficult, but we found one.

We really enjoyed our evening at Käfer Schänke, especially the delicious food! The “Dry January” cocktail options were particularly positive as we are giving up alcohol this month and it was a great way to do so in an enjoyable way.

We were pleased to discover this superb restaurant located in Munich during a business trip. There were around twenty of us and we were able to enjoy our evening in complete discretion thanks to the small lounge made available to us, decorated with great taste. I had the highest recommendations from my friends and that's why I came to this restaurant. Overall, everything was fine and the restaurant itself is very beautiful, but I ordered beef a la Rossini and there was no foie gras. I was surprised and asked the waiter if this is how it should be according to the recipe? To which the waiter went to ask the kitchen and returned with the answer that he apologizes, but they forgot to put it. And asked if they should bring it to me separately? They brought it separately, but the essence of the dish disappeared, although separately both the meat and foie gras were good, but still I went to the restaurant for the flavor combinations. For a fairly expensive restaurant, just good products are not enough.

The food, service and ambience are excellent, it's really an experience 😀 Absolute recommendation, just try it out and enjoy the highest professionalism in all areas!

It's a shame that there was so little to eat for that price, but it's just bugs. Otherwise everything was great.

For those who think you can’t get decent service in Munich, we urge you to come to Kafer and experience it for yourself. No detusch? No problem! Everyone is willing and speaks English very well, and hold themselves to the highest international standard. Company Christmas party at the Beetle. I was already looking forward to it 4 weeks in advance and the Käfer company delivered. Food: very good. Seafood selection (I don't really like it that much, but even I liked this one), duck pate (I would never have stopped eating this pate, but at some point I finished it), lobster soup, beef fillet (so tender, incredibly tasty) and raspberry tart. They were able to wheel us out after the varied menu. The service was excellent. We've also had waiters at the Beetle who aggressively presented themselves as salespeople. Our service this week was quick, polite, unobtrusive, perfect. We'll be back. Addition 2024: What are these two men doing, playing strange Christmas songs in an intrusive way, on an evening like this? You wash it down with a sip of wine. It was over after 5 minutes. Everything else remained great!

Classic that is always a safe bet! Here you can sit back and relax and know that you are in good hands. We treat ourselves to the private room every time we visit, and what can I say? It's a pleasure every time. A bit like coming home – only with better food and fancier furniture. The employees? Simply great! Friendly, attentive and with the perfect level of professionalism without appearing stiff. You can tell that there is a well-rehearsed team at work here that enjoys giving guests a good time. If you don't know the Käferschänke yet, you should change that as soon as possible. A place that combines tradition, quality and a pinch of charm - always worth a visit!

Get a table for two without booking in advance. The food was very exquisite and super full-bodied. Here you know something about cooking and presenting delicious dishes! Friendly and quick service completes an excellent overall picture. Very small drawback, somewhat limited selection of non-alcoholic drinks.

The service was outstanding and incredibly attentive - we felt taken care of from start to finish. The food was top-notch, with exceptional quality and flavors that were simply unforgettable. She was always focused on our needs, handled all requests with ease and even managed last-minute changes with a friendly and professional attitude. A cozy restaurant with excellent service, cuisine, and interior design. On the first floor, there is a shop where you can buy Christmas souvenirs. The traditional duck was superb! I have only the best memories of this restaurant.

Foie Gras de Canard was good, as were the scallops, unfortunately the sautéed spinach was over-salted, which greatly affected the flavor of the seafood. But the really annoying thing was: the champagne wasn't poured at the table and didn't have much bubbles left (bottle no longer fresh!?). This probably doesn't meet the demands of H. Käfer...and you can also expect top freshness for €22 in Munich.

The evening was wonderful and your entire team did an excellent job. From the decoration to the food and wine to the extremely friendly staff, everything was top quality. For my wife and I, this evening will remain a fond memory on the occasion of our silver wedding anniversary and our three children aged 17-25 also thought Beetle was great! I went to the Käfer for dinner with my two daughters and my grandson of 17 months. As you can imagine, it's not that easy with a small child. But here in the Beetle that's not a problem. Super attentive waiters took great care of our little man. A heartfelt thank you. The food was excellent as always. We look forward to next time.

We always enjoy going to the bistro because the quality of the food and drinks is always great and the service is attentive and friendly. Very pleasant atmosphere, you feel welcome, it is usually particularly attractively decorated and you enjoy the moment there. Overall, a clear recommendation.

I had the opportunity to eat in this restaurant for a company convention with Audi. The special dishes they offered us were very good, furthermore the location is very traditional and has a truly immense market in the basement. Full of local delicacies and an endless variety of wines of all kinds. Truly recommended experience

Whether from the personal welcome when you come up the stairs, to the service at the table to the farewell, very pleasant and professional. Very tasty food in a nice atmosphere. The drinks menu also leaves nothing to be desired. But what deserves special mention is the warm, friendly and professional service. A perfect host with a HONEST smile on his face the entire evening.

The side dishes, especially the potatoes, were also perfectly cooked. After the main course I tried the chocolate cake together with the sauce, it was really a pleasure and melted in the mouth. The service was quick, the waiters were always friendly and responded to all my requests

My friends and I booked a private room for a pre-fixed dinner and had the best time. The food and wine were absolutely delicious and the service was outstanding. Our server let us take our time between courses and let us hang around to have drinks after dinner. He was very attentive, especially with making sure our wine glasses were full. They also gave us a speaker and allowed us to play whatever music we wanted, which made the evening a blast. It was a perfect mix of fine dining and fun. If we ever return to Munich, we will definitely be back!

Always worth a visit. Very friendly service, food good at any time of the day and almost inexpensive for Munich. Wines Food and everything you need for cooking Bread Fish Seafood Spices Meat and vegetables Special foods and ready meals are also available.

Our lunch experience at Käfer restaurant didn’t satisfy me and my friends. At first , everything was amazing and on time. My friend that lives in Munich was at that place several times. It is an elegant and luxury place where you expect the same level of service. I ordered the white truffle pasta (56€ ). When the dish was at the table I tried it and unfortunately the cook didn’t do it in a correct way. It was full of milk cream and there was not even a taste of the right Italian pasta. It was also so sweet, that sound strange but unfortunately it was like that. When I asked the waiter to take it back , that waiter didn’t apologize and say anything. When we asked for a bill, the price of a pasta was there and we had a small not a nice discussion with our waiter K. that a bit laughed at us by saying “ everybody like it , why don’t you” - so not in a respectful way. Definitely this kind of people that don’t have patience and respect to the guests shouldn’t work in hospitality business. So at the end we asked for a manager and we clearly explained our position but the fun thing that when he brought a new bill we saw just a price of the truffle itself ( 28€). I have never seen this in the restaurant business and in such a qualified as we thought restaurant. So I stayed hungry and upset after coming to Käfer restaurant.

Very nice atmosphere, food delicious.

It's simply worth it - as a guest you feel completely at home, you are well looked after and have a brilliant selection of food and drinks. Always a good choice for simply treating yourself or for special occasions. The excellent service also plays its part in making you feel really welcome and seen there, without any celebrity status.

Food was great, but the service was better. Waiters were knowledgeable and entertaining. Surprisingly, the restaurant itself did not look very special. The open kitchen was nice, but most guests sit far away.

If you love things upscale, prefer loving food and drinks to fast food and simply value quality and enjoyment, Käfer is the right place for you. The very courteous service, the very tasty food and the cozy furnishings and seating take the enjoyment to new heights. We like to be guests on site often and always look forward to experiencing true enjoyment among a pleasant audience at Käfers Schänke.

Great place to grab some breads or sandwiches and either sit in their garden by the entrance or take with you to a park close by. First class breads and cold cuts plus excellent coffee. Their fleischsalat is some of the best in the city.

I was at the Käfer-Schänke as part of a small event. Here you have the opportunity to eat in a private atmosphere in various, very elegantly furnished rooms. The food was excellent and the service was also very good. Certainly priced in the upper segment, but a clear recommendation for private events.

Nice restaurant or inn as you would of course expect from Käfer. We ate very well, some of it worthy of star cuisine. Some things could have tasted better and side dishes could have been chosen differently, but of course it's a matter of taste. It's probably clear to everyone that it's not cheap at Käfer, but some of the dishes are very expensive - Munich is, after all, the city of the rich. We can recommend the Käfer Schänke with a clear conscience.

I’m here continuously every other week. Every time the food is spot on, service is perfect and mood of the staff is great.

The food wasn’t bad at all, however I was expecting much better based on the prices you pay. The place looks good, but not even close to what it should look like given the price you are paying for. The staff was nice, just not nearly as nice as they should be based on the prices they have at that restaurant. I understand it is a traditional restaurant in Munich in a really nice area, but that is about it. It is absolutely not worthy going there.

We celebrated our civil wedding with lunch at the Käfer-Schänke in Munich and can only report positive things. From the start the service was exceptionally friendly and attentive. The staff pampered us and our guests and made sure we didn't lack for anything. The food was simply excellent. Every dish was perfectly prepared and of the highest quality. Particularly noteworthy is the variety and sophistication of the dishes. Regardless of whether it was a starter, main course or dessert, everything tasted excellent and was beautifully presented. Another highlight was the excellent selection of wines. The wine list offers something for every taste and rounds off the culinary experience perfectly. Our guests felt very comfortable in the elegant and cozy atmosphere of the Käfer-Schänke. The tasteful furnishings and the pleasant ambience contributed significantly to making this day an unforgettable one for all of us. A big thank you to the entire team at Käfer-Schänke for this wonderful day. We can fully recommend this restaurant and are already looking forward to our next visit.

The wedding day was a perfect opportunity to visit the Käfer Schänke again after a fairly long “Käfer break”, and what can I say, it was great! It was a great pleasure! Great table, pretty floral decorations (without any excessive romantic "bells and whistles") and a little gift on the occasion of our wedding anniversary. This will be remembered! 😊 The service employee responsible for us, Robert, was top-notch, incredibly attentive and charming. Compliments also to the kitchen crew, that was really good!! Ok, with one small exception, the Kaiserschmarrn is better! But otherwise… it was great. We'll come back and definitely try the Kaiserschmarrn again.

Somehow you have to have been there once in the “Käfer” in Munich. Food and service (almost as expected) at the highest level.

Great food, great service, great place

Food is good quality, but not exceptional. Service was very nice and attentive. In this price range, the dishes could be prepared a little better and taste a bit better. We had the zander and the veal chop and it was all good, but at over €66 for the veal chop you would expect a little more spice. But all in all a good restaurant. The dessert, a lemon tart, was delicious but the lemon tasted a bit synthetic. Otherwise delicious.
