Visited Tantris in Munich — elegant place with amazing food. I tried the Crab Galette with Caviar, and it was absolutely stunning: delicate crab, crisp layers, and the caviar on top just sealed the deal. A visit to Tantris is truly something special. You immediately sense the rich history and high quality of this restaurant. Yet, you don't feel intimidated, but rather genuinely welcome. Our lunch was superb. The dishes were high-quality, perfectly balanced, and always included a small, creative surprise. I especially appreciated the classic flavors while still experiencing something new. The ambiance also impressed me. The architecture is exceptional, and you can simply feel that the place is something unique. The service was incredibly friendly, attentive, and pleasantly relaxed. We were even given a brief peek into the kitchen at the end, which was a real highlight for me. It's clear to me that Tantris is one of a kind, and we will definitely be back. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Anyone who comes here expects perfection. The amuse-bouche fully met this expectation. Among the courses, the Souce Bois, Encre, and especially the Chimera were delightful. The red mullet was largely bland. The Wellington also deserved more character. Desserts were definitely not the evening's strong point. The plum sorbet was a delightful treat. The Amor dessert was neither recognizable in taste nor texture. The good music at an appropriate volume was a pleasant accompaniment throughout the evening. The service at the table was very attentive and professional. The knowledgeable sommelier was a bit too hasty when pouring the wine. A wine that has spent years in the bottle doesn't need to be in the glass in a split second. A lovely evening, unfortunately not quite perfect. On my last visit to the restroom, there were no towels available – this shouldn't happen here.

There are people who can't afford or don't want to dine at a restaurant of this caliber, while for others, dining in this environment is part of their regular routine and can blend seamlessly into their everyday life. And then there are those who treat themselves to a truly exceptional culinary experience because they are curious and enjoy venturing into uncharted territory. We belonged to the latter group, and we had a wonderful evening! Many elements came together to make these five hours a truly memorable experience: The service staff were consistently attentive and friendly, the food was of the highest quality (delicious homemade bread, six amuse-bouches, and exquisite chocolate pralines to finish were the icing on the cake), and the wine pairings were perfectly matched. The ambiance was unique, with a very fitting selection of background music. And last but not least, I was delighted to receive an exquisite birthday gift from the patisserie – thank you again for that!

The food at Tantris Restaurant was truly fantastic; the exquisite quality of each course, perfectly paired with drinks, was simply divine. A wonderful birthday celebration. The only slight drawback, which doesn't significantly detract from the overall rating, was the lack of any special birthday gesture. The staff was well aware of the celebration and offered their congratulations, but at such a high-class restaurant, one would expect a small token of appreciation, perhaps a special chocolate or something similar. Nevertheless, a truly wonderful restaurant; we will gladly return.

We'd been wanting to visit this Munich institution for a long time – and we finally made it. The evening was lovely overall, but unfortunately also marred by some disappointments that one wouldn't expect in a restaurant with such a reputation. Architecturally, Tantris is in a class of its own. The iconic 70s design creates a unique, nostalgic flair. Our table in the center of the restaurant was beautifully positioned, and we thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. However, the service left much to be desired. Right from the start, we had to wait about half an hour for our four drinks. When they finally arrived, one of them was wrong – it was replaced promptly, but without an apology. This lack of care and attention unfortunately persisted throughout the entire evening. The waiters seemed disinterested, and the presentation of the dishes sometimes appeared unprofessional (quote: "We used the leftover venison in the pâté"). The food was solid – technically well-prepared, but neither truly convincing in its creativity nor its presentation. We also found the lack of any interplay of textures in the food lacking. Many dishes were visually unappealing and simply presented. The service was exceptionally slow: the first course didn't arrive until about 1.5 hours after our arrival. By then, we had eaten plenty of Jessie's excellent homemade bread to stave off our hunger. The bread and the visually and tastefully impressive amuse-bouche became the unsung heroes of the evening – after that, things unfortunately went downhill. In conclusion: A traditional establishment with an impressive ambiance – but one that fell far short of our expectations in terms of service and culinary inspiration.

In addition to the exceptional cuisine, boasting two Michelin stars, we also received a personal, handwritten anniversary card, demonstrating that despite their acclaimed reputation, they still appreciate such thoughtful gestures. We would return in a heartbeat and are certain this won't be our last visit!

A truly wonderful evening as part of the Menu Jeune! The stylish ambiance, the professional service, and the superbly coordinated dishes made the experience perfect. Particularly noteworthy were the paella with Koshihikari rice and cuttlefish, and the main course with its sensational pâté en croûte.

Despite my initial apprehension about not belonging "in such a place," we quickly felt welcome and enjoyed the many delicious and beautifully presented courses with impeccable service. We visited Tantris for the first time today and tried the Menu Jeune. What an incredible experience! The service was simply excellent, completely approachable, and completely unobtrusive. We were also lucky enough to be served the new menu. Everything was delicious, and the wine and non-alcoholic accompaniments were wonderfully complemented. We're very knowledgeable about food, but we've never had such an experience in a restaurant before. We're very inspired and floating on cloud nine. A huge thank you to everyone involved in today's team!

We were looking forward to a special experience in a two-star restaurant – unfortunately, our expectations were completely disappointed. Hardly any special ingredients, apart from a homeopathic dose of lobster. In this league, you want to be surprised and inspired, but that was completely absent here. With a menu priced at over €400, you expect culinary surprises and ingredients that are out of the ordinary. The flavors were often unbalanced – two dishes were simply extremely sour, while others were carelessly presented. The service was also disappointing: The wine recommendation didn't arrive until the end of the second course, despite our repeated requests. What was particularly disappointing was that our wedding anniversary received no attention at all. While guests around us were receiving birthday gifts, our occasion went completely unnoticed. We've often had much better food for much less – and felt much more appreciated as guests. We will definitely celebrate our next wedding anniversary somewhere else.

We were really looking forward to Tantris. On our birthday, we tried the new Tantris for a company event. We weren't greeted particularly warmly at the bar. We didn't feel comfortable and our names were soon taken down at the table. The cocktails were very good, though. The house special was fantastic and very promising, given the menu. Unfortunately, one course after another was served like an assembly line. There were no breaks between courses. Twice, one of us had our plates taken away while we were still eating. This was very unpleasant. The left-handed person had her plate turned back. The service was arrogant and inhospitable. We chose the wine pairing. In some cases, the glasses weren't filled to the mark. The crowning glory of the meal was strawberries with cream. Wonderful in taste, but presented unimaginatively, far too traditional. Besides, strawberry season is over. I hope they won't have hot raspberries with vanilla ice cream next time. Sorry, but with two stars, expectations are higher. There is nothing to complain about in terms of craftsmanship, but the senses were not enchanted.

We had lunch at Tantris for the Menu Jeune – our first visit to a two-star restaurant. The food was excellent, each course an experience. The service was attentive and professional, yet pleasantly relaxed and personalized – not at all stiff. A fantastic concept that makes fine dining accessible to young guests. Highly recommended! The seasonal starter – a variation of tomatoes – was particularly noteworthy.

A Countess of Reventlow once said, "Schwabing is not a place, but a state of being." That's certainly true. Tantris represents a new state of being when it comes to food and wine. There's nothing more to say.

We returned to Tantris for the first time since the "Haas" era. The food, drinks, and service exceeded our wildest expectations! The "greeting from the kitchen" alone was first a visual and then a delicious dream! And so it continued... the entire menu was beautifully and creatively presented and tasted excellent and outstanding from the first to the last course! As usual at Tantris, the service was extremely attentive, yet not intrusive, but relaxed and humorous. The sommelier gave us excellent advice! We didn't have a wine pairing, but the recommendation paired wonderfully with the delicious food. In summary, we were absolutely thrilled with the "new" Tantris and, as the restaurant manager bid us farewell, promised to return as soon as possible!

Our lunch visit to Tantris was perfect. The food was a mix of top-quality ingredients, classic French cuisine, and inspiring special ideas in every course (such as the sorrel with the galette). The ambience is nothing short of spectacular. Set in unique architecture, every detail in the room conveys the history and style of Tantris. You feel like a guest in another world, yet never a stranger. The service contributes to this: young, uncomplicated, friendly, and highly professional. The fact that we were able to take a peek into the kitchen at the end of our visit was a special highlight. Tantris is unique, and our visit here certainly wasn't. We look forward to our next time!

Fine dining at its best. I saw the logo on the Riedel glasses, and I knew it will be great. Wine pairing was spot on. The staff is VERY experienced and knowledgeable. I highly recommended and I’ll be back.

My wife and I have dined at plenty of top-tier restaurants, and Tantris earns its place among them without trying too hard. The service struck the right balance—attentive without hovering—and the atmosphere felt naturally relaxed. The food is technique-driven but not showy; every dish highlighted great ingredients without overcomplicating them. It’s a confident kitchen doing excellent work. Easily one of Munich’s standouts, and worth a return.

A sacred temple, even in appearance, of German catering. The menu changes very often and is not à la carte: it follows the idea of ​​the chef who from start to finish tries to take you to another planet, sometimes succeeding and sometimes not. In short, it is the classic high-level German cuisine that is 90% based on French cuisine, with a pinch of Asia and Italy. The service is very attentive but at times heavy. Of course, the food was simply outstanding. The service of the dining room team, Lina and Maximilian in particular, was equally exceptional. Pleasant and discreet. But what stroke me is the 1970’s elegant dang and ambience, the acoustic is fantastic, you can hear the music, you can hear the person in front of you next to you, but not a single intrusive noise from other tables or other element disturbing you. Very well design. Highly, highly recommended!!

The service is proper, respectful, but not timely. We waited in average 30 minutes for each course. We had 7 courses! The wine isn’t that amazing, the food is good but not impressive. I’m sorry to be so critical but for the price it’s not worth it.

The exterior and interior design in the 1970s style made of concrete with black and red walls and ceilings is due to the fact that this restaurant has been successfully operated here for three generations. This also explains the legendary series “The Clash” and similar music in the background. I found the waiters very helpful, especially the sommelier. The amuse-bouche on six plates is perhaps a bit too much before the actual menu. But the lobster pancake and the cuttlefish red mullet were both excellent. Great restaurant for a great evening. It has a very special atmosphere, reminding every guest why Munich once has been the culinary capital of Germany. Now, Benjamin Chmura and team are still outstanding. Each course is a French Cuisine-inspired work of art. And there’s one of the best wine lists you can find. Without many words, simply wonderful

We spent a very nice evening at Tantris. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether the menu price of €345/person is justified for a (“only”) 2-star restaurant. The service and sommelier were very attentive and relaxed a bit over the course of the evening. Then everyone had a little more fun. I think it would be nice if people knew the names of the employees. But that is only the case in a few (star) restaurants. The dishes were very creative, tasty and very well portioned. Special requests were taken into account. The amuse bouche (6!!) were excellent. What is not always the case in star restaurants: we were well full. There are small deductions for the “pear-hay-grain” dessert. Benjamin may forgive me, but that reminded me of muesli on pear compote. Certainly that wasn't the highlight. The wine selection is sufficient and ranges from “affordable” to top class. We didn't take advantage of the wine accompaniment. The digestive from Reisetbauer is not a bargain at €30 for 2 cl. But the magnum bottle costs around €500 just to purchase. In summary: Gladly again. Thanks!!

The “under 35” offer gave us the opportunity to get a taste of “fine dining”. It was a very, very great experience, the service staff were super friendly and all the dishes and wines were introduced. The ambience was also great and very pleasant. What I found particularly exciting was that even though you actually know the ingredients, when put together it was such a new taste that seemed strange and the consistency also harmonized wonderfully. Really a great offer and a great experience overall!

I am absolutely speechless!! From the first moment we stepped into the restaurant, I was in awe! The restaurant looks very cozy and yet modern! The staff is smiling and kind. For us, this was the first experience at the Michelin restaurant and we are excited. All prophecies of doom that the new Tantris cannot keep up with the old one are wrong: It was fantastic on March 6th. The food of the great, likeable Benjamin Chmura (father Israeli, mother German) is of course completely different to that of the wonderful Hans Haas. The iconic ambience has been changed very little, so much so that you think it has always been that way.

We went to the restaurant for lunch and decided on the 6-course menu. We felt like we were in France! This "art de vivre", fewer restaurants can offer. A big compliment to Benjamin Chmura and his friendly team! The kitchen was excellent and the service staff was friendly and professional.

Jeder Gang war okay, allerdings ohne das große Aha-Erlebnis, das ich in Sternerestaurants so wertschätze. Das Gleiche galt für den Wein. Der Wein, weshalb ich die Weinbegleitung gewählt hatte, war "ausgetrunken" und die anderen Weine waren okay, aber keine Erhellung. Deshalb in Summe akzeptabel, aber auch nicht mehr

An institution in Munich - a wonderful service with great food in a very special and originally 70’ interior

This is how you imagine a perfect evening! Food: Exceptional! Service and sommellier: Excellent and humorous!

We had the 6-course lunch menu with wine pairing and it was an absolute dream. One of the courses wasn't completely to our liking, but was immediately swapped for another course. Service and wine were incredible. Thanks again especially to Anna and Oskar!!
