A Countess of Reventlow once said, "Schwabing is not a place, but a state of being." That's certainly true. Tantris represents a new state of being when it comes to food and wine. There's nothing more to say.

From start to finish, the experience was exceptional. The warm welcome, attentive yet unobtrusive service, and perfectly balanced atmosphere made the evening unforgettable. Every dish was a masterpiece—beautifully presented, bursting with flavor, and crafted with precision. The wine pairing elevated the meal even further, showing true expertise. A place where fine dining meets genuine hospitality—highly recommended and I’ll definitely return!

Tantris is an institution that absolutely lives up to its reputation—our visit was an experience from start to finish. The food remains deeply rooted in French cuisine, yet modern and refreshing. And the service is also absolutely professional, yet open-hearted and charming.

Only tried the a la carte menu, which wasn't extensive, but food and extra amuse bouches was delightful, especially the suggested wine...

We returned to Tantris for the first time since the "Haas" era. The food, drinks, and service exceeded our wildest expectations! The "greeting from the kitchen" alone was first a visual and then a delicious dream! And so it continued... the entire menu was beautifully and creatively presented and tasted excellent and outstanding from the first to the last course! As usual at Tantris, the service was extremely attentive, yet not intrusive, but relaxed and humorous. The sommelier gave us excellent advice! We didn't have a wine pairing, but the recommendation paired wonderfully with the delicious food. In summary, we were absolutely thrilled with the "new" Tantris and, as the restaurant manager bid us farewell, promised to return as soon as possible!

I was privileged to be here again since 1986. The quality, preparation, and presentation of the food are second to none: world-class cuisine. I was particularly impressed by the exceptionally professional friendliness, utmost expertise, and attentiveness of the staff ("Old White Man"). This made the meal an unforgettable work of art. Where else can you find a restaurant with such a history, a restaurant that has shaped the culinary scene in Munich and Germany, yet continues to offer gastronomic excellence without vanity and in the most creative way? Our lunch visit to Tantris was perfect. The food was a mix of top-quality ingredients, classic French cuisine, and inspiring special ideas in every course (such as the sorrel with the galette). The ambience is nothing short of spectacular. Set in unique architecture, every detail in the room conveys the history and style of Tantris. You feel like a guest in another world, yet never a stranger. The service contributes to this: young, uncomplicated, friendly, and highly professional. The fact that we were able to take a peek into the kitchen at the end of our visit was a special highlight. Tantris is unique, and our visit here certainly wasn't. We look forward to our next time!

Fine dining at its best. I saw the logo on the Riedel glasses, and I knew it will be great. Wine pairing was spot on. The staff is VERY experienced and knowledgeable. I highly recommended and I’ll be back.

My wife and I have dined at plenty of top-tier restaurants, and Tantris earns its place among them without trying too hard. The service struck the right balance—attentive without hovering—and the atmosphere felt naturally relaxed. The food is technique-driven but not showy; every dish highlighted great ingredients without overcomplicating them. It’s a confident kitchen doing excellent work. Easily one of Munich’s standouts, and worth a return.

A sacred temple, even in appearance, of German catering. The menu changes very often and is not à la carte: it follows the idea of ​​the chef who from start to finish tries to take you to another planet, sometimes succeeding and sometimes not. In short, it is the classic high-level German cuisine that is 90% based on French cuisine, with a pinch of Asia and Italy. The service is very attentive but at times heavy. Saturday lunchtime special menu including wine pairing. Excellent service, very attentive, a well-coordinated service team. Well-selected wines and matching digestifs. Great atmosphere, acoustics and lighting concept, subtle, appropriate background music. Highly recommended. Thank you very much for this wonderful, relaxed Saturday lunch.

Of course, the food was simply outstanding. The service of the dining room team, Lina and Maximilian in particular, was equally exceptional. Pleasant and discreet. But what stroke me is the 1970’s elegant dang and ambience, the acoustic is fantastic, you can hear the music, you can hear the person in front of you next to you, but not a single intrusive noise from other tables or other element disturbing you. Very well design. Highly, highly recommended!!

The service is proper, respectful, but not timely. We waited in average 30 minutes for each course. We had 7 courses! The wine isn’t that amazing, the food is good but not impressive. I’m sorry to be so critical but for the price it’s not worth it.

We went to Tantris again for lunch. This time is significantly better than the first time. Food freshly prepared. Very nice and lavishly furnished. We would like to come again. The food looks good, but the quality and taste are really disappointing… It feels like the food is being taken out of the fridge for a moment. All the food was way too cold. Dessert isn’t a highlight either…

The exterior and interior design in the 1970s style made of concrete with black and red walls and ceilings is due to the fact that this restaurant has been successfully operated here for three generations. This also explains the legendary series “The Clash” and similar music in the background. I found the waiters very helpful, especially the sommelier. The amuse-bouche on six plates is perhaps a bit too much before the actual menu. But the lobster pancake and the cuttlefish red mullet were both excellent. Great restaurant for a great evening. It has a very special atmosphere, reminding every guest why Munich once has been the culinary capital of Germany. Now, Benjamin Chmura and team are still outstanding. Each course is a French Cuisine-inspired work of art. And there’s one of the best wine lists you can find. And of course, the service is excellent. But if you prefer “a la carte” over degustation menu, go for the DNA restaurant. Edit: photos represent a “best of”

We went to Tantris for the first time today and tried the Menu Jeune. What an incredible experience, the service was simply excellent, totally accessible and completely unobtrusive. We were also lucky enough to be served the new menu. Everything tasted delicious, the wine and non-alcoholic accompaniment was wonderfully coordinated with it. We are very knowledgeable in culinary terms, but we have never had an experience like this in the catering industry. We are very soulful and floating on a pink cloud. A big thank you to everyone involved in today's team!

Without many words, simply wonderful

We spent a very nice evening at Tantris. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether the menu price of €345/person is justified for a (“only”) 2-star restaurant. The service and sommelier were very attentive and relaxed a bit over the course of the evening. Then everyone had a little more fun. I think it would be nice if people knew the names of the employees. But that is only the case in a few (star) restaurants. The dishes were very creative, tasty and very well portioned. Special requests were taken into account. The amuse bouche (6!!) were excellent. What is not always the case in star restaurants: we were well full. There are small deductions for the “pear-hay-grain” dessert. Benjamin may forgive me, but that reminded me of muesli on pear compote. Certainly that wasn't the highlight. The wine selection is sufficient and ranges from “affordable” to top class. We didn't take advantage of the wine accompaniment. The digestive from Reisetbauer is not a bargain at €30 for 2 cl. But the magnum bottle costs around €500 just to purchase. In summary: Gladly again. Thanks!!

The “under 35” offer gave us the opportunity to get a taste of “fine dining”. It was a very, very great experience, the service staff were super friendly and all the dishes and wines were introduced. The ambience was also great and very pleasant. What I found particularly exciting was that even though you actually know the ingredients, when put together it was such a new taste that seemed strange and the consistency also harmonized wonderfully. Really a great offer and a great experience overall!

I am absolutely speechless!! From the first moment we stepped into the restaurant, I was in awe! The restaurant looks very cozy and yet modern! The staff is smiling and kind. For us, this was the first experience at the Michelin restaurant and we are excited. We celebrated our anniversary here with my husband and the congratulatory note on the table from the staff pleasantly surprised and pleased us 🤗 The food was amazing! Beautifully served and presented down to the last detail. The staff also speaks English, which I appreciated, as my German is not very good. I will recommend you where possible because there is absolutely nothing to complain about. Thank you!

All prophecies of doom that the new Tantris cannot keep up with the old one are wrong: It was fantastic on March 6th. The food of the great, likeable Benjamin Chmura (father Israeli, mother German) is of course completely different to that of the wonderful Hans Haas. The iconic ambience has been changed very little, so much so that you think it has always been that way.

Tantris is definitely one of my Michelin highlights and an experience I’d love to repeat. Its interior is a piece of art as well as the food. Portions were very generous and there was a great mixture of creativity and harmony behind each dish. Wine pairings gave me a chance to learn more about some exquisite German wines once again and service was excellent: attentive, knowledgeable, warmhearted and truly passionate about their job. An absolute 10/10 evening!

Die Erwartungen sind hoch. Erstens bei dem Namen und zweitens bei den Preisen (345 Euro für das Menue und 215 Euro für die Weinbegleitung dazu). Es war auch nicht schlecht. Jeder Gang war okay, allerdings ohne das große Aha-Erlebnis, das ich in Sternerestaurants so wertschätze. Das Gleiche galt für den Wein. Der Wein, weshalb ich die Weinbegleitung gewählt hatte, war "ausgetrunken" und die anderen Weine waren okay, aber keine Erhellung. Deshalb in Summe akzeptabel, aber auch nicht mehr

We had the 6-course lunch menu with wine pairing and it was an absolute dream. One of the courses wasn't completely to our liking, but was immediately swapped for another course. Service and wine were incredible. Thanks again especially to Anna and Oskar!!

Basically a very great experience with fantastic food. However, there is a deduction when it comes to food because they forgot about my allergies, served our main course an hour after the previous course and then didn't even offer us a digestif, dessert or you name it as an apology. Unfortunately, that was a bit disappointing, as you would expect a little more at almost €1200 for two people. Otherwise, the service was very friendly and the food, as I said, lived up to expectations. The blue vanilla dessert was really outstanding.

Tantris, das Mekka für Feinschmecker! Schon beim Betreten des Restaurants strömt einem eine perfekte, nicht gespielte Freundlichkeit durch das Personal entgegen. Ein Service am Tisch, ohne Aufdringlichkeit, trotz der vielen Servicekräfte - ein Personalmangel war nicht zu verspüren! Über die servierten Speisen zu reden hieße "Eulen nach Athen zu tragen". In der Küche sind "Kochkünstler" am Werk, die es verstehen , dem Auge des Gastes ein perfektes Kunstwerk in der Ausgestaltung des Tellers zu präsentieren. Der Gaumen darf sich ebenfalls auf eine Geschmacksexplosion freuen. Die angebotene alkohlfreie Getränkebegleitung war für mich im positivsten Sinne "umwerfend". Alles in Allem ein perfekter Mittagslunch. Ich komme wieder.

I very much enjoyed my visit to Tantris where i celebrated my 60th birthday 15 years ago! Food beautifully presented, some lovely dishes (the bread and crab galette were particularly good) and a couple which perhaps were a little disappointing in terms of flavour. Special Saturday lunch menu where unexpectedly the paired wines were constantly replenished by the very personable Oscar. The highlight of this trip was the very friendly, attentive and professional service from all the staff. I was very quickly given a power bank to recharge my phone and I was also presented with a personal menu signed by the chef and invited into the kitchen to meet him which made this a very special occasion for me and is a reflection of their thoughtful customer care.

Me gustó mucho mi visita a Tantris, donde celebré mi cumpleaños número 60 hace 15 años! Comida muy bien presentada, algunos platos encantadores (el pan y la galette de cangrejo eran particularmente buenos) y un par que quizás fueron un poco decepcionantes en términos de sabor. Menú especial para el almuerzo de los sábados donde inesperadamente los vinos maridados fueron constantemente repuestos por el muy agradable Oscar. Lo más destacado de este viaje fue el servicio muy amable, atento y profesional de todo el personal. Rápidamente me dieron un banco de energía para recargar mi teléfono y también me presentaron un menú personal firmado por el chef y me invitaron a la cocina para conocerlo, lo que hizo de esta una ocasión muy especial para mí y es un reflejo de su atención al cliente.

TANTRIS! The best in Germany. Every course, non-alcoholic wine, home-baked bread, the best butter, the blackest espresso. HEAVENLY! Every course is a taste explosion. The service is gallant and cosmopolitan like in Vienna. And the AMBIENCE? Courage and a clear goal have made this copper-clad structure a real MAISON CULINAIRE. And that has been the case for over 25 years. Cheers! You even pre-assembled a wheelchair ramp for me so that I don't have to climb stairs. Neo and Martin say thank you very much, it couldn't be better.

At lunchtime on January 25th, 2025 we followed an exciting wine recommendation (Werlitsch: “Joy”), which accompanied us excellently throughout the entire menu. Wonderfully delicate bienvenue, great courses, courteous, openly friendly service. Befitting the good reputation of the company and its boss.

Wir waren schon in einigen Sterne Restaurants aber leider war das Tantris enttäuschend. Der Service gemischt. Eine Allergie wurde zwischendurch vergessen. Die Gerichte nicht überraschend. Einzig der Wein Sommelier war Spitzen-Niveau. Durch seine Person und die ausgesuchten Weine.

A great restaurant that more than lives up to its reputation. Extremely high quality menu presented with a lot of love. A vegetarian version was not only delicious, but also visually appealing. Certainly one of the best restaurants in Germany.

Quizás llegué con una expectativa demasiado alta. La comida es buena pero no excelente. Definitivamente no inventivo, lo cual no es necesariamente algo malo. Pero algunos de los sabores y salsas de los diferentes platos son demasiado similares... todo era cremoso con una acidez para cortar la cremosidad. El servicio era impecable. Pero nuestro almuerzo de 7 platos tomó casi 3. ¡A 5 horas! No puedo entender cómo este lugar es un 2 * La semana pasada tuvimos una comida fenomenal en Marv Ben en Copenhague. A mitad de precio y mitad de la duración de la comida, sopló Tantris ouf del agua con su menú juguetón, flujo perfecto y ejecución impecable. Lamentablemente no puedo recomendar.
