A really really great place!😃
Great service, very very personable.
Extra wishes are implemented extremely well. My accompaniment was very complicated, it was really given to make her happy. She got “probably the best burger of her life” in the ⭐️ restaurant.😅
Thanks for the exception.🥰
The food was really great!
Thank you for this lovely evening
I cannot fold anything at this place. At a cool location with a nice decor you can enjoy food of world class. Flavor after flavor explosions. Every dish plated with care. And really nice staff and attentive service. Not surprised it is in the list of 50 best restaurants in the world. Thank you Tim Raue and team!
Spectacular experience in a world of flavors in a class of its own. The service and wine recommendations are in no way inferior. Thank you for this extremely successful evening.
Yesterday I was looking for a restaurant that I had visited 13 years ago with a good friend. I found it, but unfortunately it was closed.
But since I was hungry and didn't want to go far, I looked at the restaurant next door.
Beautiful colors, very stylish from the outside. When I read that they serve Asian fusion cuisine, I was already hooked.
So why not take a look inside!
In the entrance area, you are greeted at the bar before service, with a classic reservation desk, a beautiful bar...the in-house aging cabinet also gives a lot of indications and promises.
I was welcomed promptly, my clothes were taken from me and I was offered a seat.
The dining room itself is divided into two rooms and impresses with modern elegance in dark green tones paired with a bit of gold and subtle mirrors. Beautifully set tables with white tablecloths, cutlery and glasses.
You can see that they aim to offer a bit of upscale gastronomy here. One small drawback: paper napkins instead of cloth, but more on that later.
The selection of food and drinks is limited, which I, as a restaurateur and chef, find very good, because it always shows that the products are fresh and of high quality. This is also the operators' view of their concept and their desire to always be able to offer their guests good quality.
Let's get to the process.
As an aperitif, there was the house's own rose sparkling wine, very tasty and more than fair in price by Berlin standards.
Since I wanted to be surprised, I opted for a 4-course surprise menu. At €58, this is very reasonably priced, you don't get too much but you don't get too little either.
To start off, there was a greeting from the kitchen, which was served in the form of a soup... a "Tom Yam soup". As an Asia fan, I was very happy with that.
I would like to make a small suggestion for improvement here...! A little bread and butter to start with or just in between would loosen things up a bit and give the guest more joy and the kitchen more time.
For starters there was a pork belly from Duroc pork, cooked sous vide for 16 hours. Very tender with a nice crust, all the components worked together harmoniously.
The second course was a wonderfully confited scallop. I've eaten a lot of them, but this one was special! Butter tender and with a world of aromas like I've never had before.
For the main course, the head waiter asked me what I would prefer...entrecote or rump steak!
I said that the chef should please decide what he recommended.
The entrecote came...I just wanted it to be medium rare!
You know what's coming next...unfortunately it didn't work out.
Nevertheless, I got it new without complaining and it was just right. Here too I gave the advice that it would be better to cut the steak a little smaller but thicker! That makes it easier...even I sometimes have problems getting a medium rare steak that is not even 1cm thick. Accompanied by this was a superbly prepared mashed potato, to die for...plenty of butter and lime zest...fresh and simply delicious.
The dessert was a creme brulee with a scoop of ice cream...also a dream.
The whole thing was accompanied by a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc from Rheinhessen. A lovely tipple.
This was rounded off with a digestif, and I got an addition to my order directly from the service without any charge.
It was a lovely evening that I can put on a par with colleagues in my profession.
Conclusion: An up-and-coming restaurant with room for improvement in the service area, but the kitchen is well-positioned and you can feel the really lovely and genuine hospitality here.
I can only say thank you, wish you good business and always satisfied guests.
I'll be happy to come back when I'm in Berlin again.
And so greetings from Dresden
Micha
The place was actually fully booked – but polite whining and complaining helped! We certainly didn't have the best table in the house, but we certainly didn't have a bad seat... The menu was fantastic, the wine pairing was high-quality and struck a nice balance between classic and surprising, and the service was excellent. We had a fantastic evening!
A truly fantastic menu and an exciting wine pairing. The restaurant was fully booked and, unfortunately, very loud. A very diverse crowd, which was somewhat surprising for a gourmet restaurant.
First of all, the service was great. There was only a sweet and vegetable course among the meals, which I did not like at all. Of course, this has to do with my own taste. The wine Somelier recommended to us was amazing. In terms of atmosphere, it was very enjoyable to watch Berlin from above on the roof.
If I compare it to the fine dining restaurants I have experienced before, I can say that it is in the last place. The ambiance was a performance with loud music and nothing to do with the food.
Sounds promising, but it doesn't hold up. The oysters and mussels were wonderful, but the rest was unfortunately disappointing. The ceviche was boring. Very small plates, but high prices. It seems uninspired and random, with no real common thread. The service was too arrogant for me. There was no recommendation or advice about the wine and the plates were carelessly placed in a very strange sequence.
If the tipping expectations are not met, you as a guest will be treated condescendingly. That hasn't happened to me in a long time.
I expected a lot and unfortunately I'm not sad that I can't do it again here.
In the low season (I can't say anything about the high season) the hotel was a big disappointment. Neither the staff nor the service nor the food met an acceptable standard. For the excessive price, the quality was poor - some of the rooms were dirty and the staff seemed completely overwhelmed. Each employee gave different information, which led to numerous misunderstandings. There was no question of hospitality, when you asked for fresh towels you were told otherwise that you should use a towel for several days and why I only used my towel once and then they didn't want to give a new one until I explained my situation 5 times, the service was simply non-existent. In my opinion, this hotel doesn't deserve any stars and is absolutely not recommended.
Unglaubliche kulinarische Reise. Die Kreationen sind immer auch kleine Kunstwerke. Vielen Dank für die Geschmacksexplosionen und dem tollen und erfrischenden Service in einer sehr ruhigen Atmosphäre. Wir kommen wieder!
In an informal but welcoming environment, a surprising dinner. Faelt's cuisine is made of intense flavors that counterbalance and support each other. The wines, predominantly German, but with French and Spanish contributions, harmoniously accompany each dish. The "controversial" dessert: magnificent. A beautiful evening. Highly recommended
Well, the restaurant will be closing soon. The two of us wanted to get another impression and have a nice evening. A terrible atmosphere for a 1 star restaurant. Wooden chairs without upholstery or padded bench simple. Wooden table varnished so that it looks relaxed and at the same time saves 1500 euros in white laundry per month. Guest room noisy and too cold in winter, heating on level 5 lukewarm. The person sitting next to you at the table should wear simple, thick sweaters and not designer clothes, which are not shown here. A blouse or something similar is not possible as it would cost too much due to the temperatures. A record player plays black vinyl with very special music, often so loud that you can't hear the person sitting next to you at the table. If the music is turned down, it is quickly turned up again... The service sometimes seems thrown together or provided by temporary employment agencies. Preferably in English and poor German. All in all, you celebrate yourself in the special way of the boss in the house until the bitter end of the establishment. In terms of food, there are only 8 course menus yes or no. Optional corresponding wines. The wines were more of a mediocre accompaniment, but matched the courses. In principle, the kitchen can do more than the restaurant offers in its own way. When it ends in mid-December, the operator will rethink its concept. Too casual and “special” for a star, too expensive for anything less. Just an attempt to make fine dining trendy in Kreuzberg. Unfortunately, the spirit of the times is changing more and more quickly. Result of the evening 500 euros for two, in a special atmosphere with very competent cuisine. Others can do that better in Berlin...we felt entertained, but unfortunately not picked up.
