Hugos in Berlin

Ate a great New Year's menu with 7 dishes where it started a little easier and only got better and better. The last main course was a fantastically good Wagyu. Really good wines for all dishes. Finished with champagne until 12 o'clock. Incredible view (even if you sit with your back to the windows as they have mirrors so you can still see) over Berlin with all the fireworks. Very good service with introduction to all dishes and wines. Highly recommended. Would have given a 5 in atmosphere if there had been a little more subdued lighting with candles.

The visit to Hugos was actually supposed to be a wonderful end to a New Year's Eve day in Berlin and we therefore decided on the champagne and canapés event. The conclusion is sobering. I don't want to bash at this point, especially since the crew was without exception polite and professional. But I would have expected a little “more” from a Hugos. The welcome champagne Nicolas Feuillatte was “well dosed” and a little more was unfortunately only possible by paying an appropriate fee…. The description was misleading and they should have communicated that only 0.089 l per person was included - a shame. The canapés were ok, the explanation was sufficient. Star level? - No. The view of Berlin and the fireworks was wonderful and we were also able to get the second “free” bottle of water from the table provided. At least there were Berlin donuts to welcome the new year... I'm just wondering when the in-house one? Bakery made them. Luckily we still had a bottle of champagne in the room… Happy New Year

We were only here six months ago! And we still have fond memories of this evening! We have never experienced the staff greeting us in sign language and they used some signs throughout the evening! They even printed everything out in advance for us. Thank you for this truly inclusive experience! We're still working on it :) The food, service and view - everything is a dream and unique!!! So so delicious!!! So so accommodating! So so beautiful! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

We had booked a table for our silver wedding anniversary well in advance. Everything was a very big disappointment. There were the wrong chairs at the table, two neighboring tables were covered with little hearts all over the table, supposedly because of some wedding anniversaries, nothing was particularly set for us and no congratulations either. At least five different waiters served us. Nobody was our regular waiter and everything was a mess. The courses came much too quickly one after the other, one of the main courses was even served when I was in the toilet and the waiter had even taken me there. So the main course stood on the table for quite a while and became cold. Drinks were not refilled once. The light was too bright and blinding. You couldn't choose any customized dishes, for example lactose-free or vegetarian, there wasn't a lot of different food selection, no bread selection. Just one type of bread. You couldn't get enough anyway. At the end you were asked why you were leaving so quickly and whether you had anything nice planned. When the courses come so quickly one after the other and the service is so bad, you have to go quickly. When we said as we were leaving that we were now celebrating our silver wedding anniversary, we were only wished for a nice evening and lots of fun. Even then, the waiters didn't tell us that our celebration had already taken place at your place, or at least that it was supposed to take place. At the next table, where the 20th wedding anniversary was supposedly celebrated, with little hearts, according to the waiter, there was a couple who were in their mid-20s at the most and definitely didn't celebrate a 20th wedding anniversary. But no one noticed. All this for a star restaurant and with these prices. Just a big disappointment and definitely not recommended.

Top service, top cuisine... Only recommended!

The best birthday present I could have hope for. Amazing attention to detail, warm atmosphere and expert staff. A unique experience. Each bite was full of impressive flavour. Like eating a masterpiece.

Cozy atmosphere and best service

We were a larger group of 10 people dining as the closing event of Innovator of the year awards 2024. I am very impressed how Mr Eberhard Lange and his team handled it considering the size of the group. Value for money wise I do not recall a better Michelin dining experience. Will be back very soon!

The food is very good. The waiters are very kind and attentive as they should be.

We were immediately seated and offered champagne, and to my delight they also had non alcoholic/ sulfite free options. Each offering was executed perfectly. To our delight, every course was an amazing exploration of flavors, appearances, and textures. The kitchen perfectly adjusted to the menu to fit work in my sulfite allergy while providing me with dishes very similar to my dining partner. 10/10 experience. We absolutely wish to come back when we get the chance again. My only comment would be the lighting can make it hard to see out the windows at night, as the location on the 14th floor is an additional perk.

Absolutely clear recommendation! From the food (creative, tasteful and artfully presented) to the service (friendly, competent) to the ambience (beautiful view of the Bundestag, Victory Column, etc.) it was impeccable. As connoisseurs and lovers of gourmet restaurants, which we visit regularly, we can say that the price and performance ratio are right and we would be happy to come back. We had a dinner with a memorable 4-course menu. Everything was perfect. Excellent inventive cuisine. And the service is both efficient and very warm. We had a great time, we recommend it without reservation.

The strength of Hugos is to serve consistent perfection, while avoiding the pitfalls of experimental tastes that lead to two stars for a very few, but for a not quite perfect evening for many others. None of the 6 dishes had any flaws, and the selection of wines that go with them varied and a good combination. Their bread... a frustration that I don't have such a delight every day!

Das Menu war gut, leider keine überraschende Highlights. Für eine Sterneküche gab es außer dem Wiesenchampignons kein AHA-Erlebnis. Der Service war gut, der Getränkeservice vermittelte den Eindruck, die Weine müssten vor der Inventur noch raus. Fazit: für 400€ pro Person keine Wiederholung. Da gibt es bessere Adressen.

Sommelier, Kellner, Essen - alles Top!! Würde jederzeit wiederkommen. Blick ist toll und es war nicht zu laut. Wein wurde fleißig nachbestellt.

Das Menu war optisch wie geschmacklich ein Hochgenuss und absolut top! Auch die korrespondierenden Weine waren hervorragend und wurden schön erklärt. Überhaupt war der Service sehr freundlich und präsent, vielleicht zu präsent, denn nun komme ich zu dem einzigen Kritikpunkt: es ging alles sehr schnell! Kaum hatte ich Platz genommen, kamen sofort die Grüße aus der Küche. Kaum war ein Teller leer, wurde sofort abgeräumt und der nächste Gang kam Knall auf Fall. Hätte ich vor dem Hauptgang (Reh aus Brandenburg, absolut köstlich!) nicht um eine Pause gebeten, wäre das Sechs-Gänge-Menu in gut anderthalb Stunden durchgezogen worden. Es mag daran gelegen haben, dass an dem Abend gerade mal vier oder fünf Tische besetzt und viele frei waren. Vielleicht wollten alle zügig nach Hause. Fair enough. Aber meinem Genuss war das nicht gerade zuträglich. Fazit: Top Qualität wie man sie in Berlin selten kriegt. Aber etwas weniger Tempo und etwas entspannterer slowfood hätte den Abend nochmal deutlich aufgewertet.

Wir haben am 4 Hand Menu teilgenommen. Das Restaurant bietet in seiner Lage im 14. Stock einen einmaligen Ausblick auf die Stadt. Hervorzuheben ist die Spitzenleistung der Küche, die mich an die von mir geliebten 3-Sterne-Restaurans von Paris erinnert. Die fehlenden Tischdecken machen die Präsentation der Speisen etwas schlicht. Dies wird jedoch ausgeglichen durch die Präsentation der Speisen auf dem Teller. Hier leisten die Köche meisterliche (ja fast künstlerische) Leistung. Die produzierten Aromen führen zu einem genußreichen Abend.

Псевдо элитный ресторан. Отвратительный интерьер столовой в бизнесцентре. Для любителей микропорий где намешано 10 ингредиентов и ничего конкретно не понять, а уж тем более запомнить вкус блюда. Зачем то в конце ужина принесли как комплимент 2 черствые булки с джемом внутри, в соседнем супермаркете видимо купили за неделю, есть их было невозможно. Очень сомнительное заведение.

You'll be poor, but it's worth it. It was our first time at Hugos and we were impressed. Not so much by the ambience, but by the cuisine at the highest level. Not only an absolute feast for the palate, but also a feast for the eyes. We had the eight-course menu but the kitchen also offered an amuse gueule and an intermediate course as a surprise. The service was very attentive and friendly and the wine selection was excellent. That definitely wasn't our last time at Hugos. But first we have to save a little....

This restaurant is great! I was there for dinner and it was a great experience! The place looked amazing and the foot tasted amazing. The atmosphere was really good too! I would definitely recommend!

Einfach grandios! Wir sind Mehrfachtäter im Hugos haben es bisher noch nie bereut! Die Küche war wie immer excellent, die Kellner sehr, sehr freundlich und mitdenkend! Alles in allem wieder ein gelungener Abend!

We had a fantastic evening at Hugo’s at the Intercontinental in Berlin. The eight course tasting menu and wine pairing was excellent, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The views of the city were fab. The ambience was spot on. The evening couldn’t have been better.

Was a bit of a bumpy start as I had informed my husband was vegetarian and I did not eat veal and both was not considered until I reminded them. Could not have 8 course menu as they only do a six for vegetarian. Husband sat without a drink for 45 minutes as only I wanted champagne, no alternative offered and no wine list brought until we asked. After that everything went smoothly, food was lovely. Champagne was €31 for a small glass and water €12 for 75cl, most I remember paying and I am fortunate to have eaten in over 100 Michelin restaurants. The view is great over the city and perhaps we just had an unlucky start so would give a try if you like nice food with a view and are in Berlin

A restaurant with a fabulous view over Berlin. A most convenient choice when staying at the Intercontinental Berlin. Upon entering the restaurant you are met with a glorious bar area. Despite arriving 30 minutes early and clearly telling the greeter that we would like a drink before we ate, we were whisked into the restaurant, and duly offered an aperitif. The beautiful bar area remained deserted all night. Such a wasted opportunity. Possibly there is more atmosphere if your table is further within the restaurant, we were placed on the table closest to the door. I enjoyed everything offered on the six course tasting menu. The octopus was a delicious surprise, however I failed to find the horseradish (despite a trained tongue for it!) in the trout dish. The quince and jasmine 'pud' was pure art on a plate. Lacking wine from the southern hemisphere. Guests were varied and seemingly welcomed equally, wether in a hoody or a lounge suit. The staff were professional.

The Michelin star is deserved, a lot of mastery in all the dishes. Presentation of dishes a little difficult to follow because of the waiters' English. Great discoveries in German wines.

We only went to the star restaurant, so I can't say much about the hotel. But the restaurant is excellent with a beautiful view. Everything was fabulous that evening. The food was of the best quality and tasted excellent (pigeon, trout and beef were outstanding). We had the 8-course menu with wine accompaniment. All courses were fantastic in terms of taste. The corresponding wine (outstanding wine list) was perfectly matched to the food. The service was always present without being intrusive, very friendly and accommodating. We had a very nice evening. Highly Recommended.

Fabulous experience! We wanted a Michelin experience and it really lived up to our expectations. We ordered the six course option with wine pairings but it was so much more. One after another amazing dishes came to out table. Just stunning. The sommelier Andrew was perfect in setting up each tasting. Lovely staff. Overall an experience we will never forget.

This fine restaurant is located high above the city on the 16th floor. The view wanders over the silhouette of Berlin and competes with the gourmet menu. A menu consisting of six or eight courses. There is no a la carte. Every course came out of the kitchen as a feast for the eyes and the very friendly employees contributed to a special experience. Special thanks to the Chef de Cuisine Mr. Lange for the insight into the kitchen!

Alles in allem ein perfekter Abend!

What a wonderful evening we had at Hugo’s. From the minute we were welcomed until we left we received first class service from all the staff. We chose the 6 course tasting menu with matching wines. We also had beautiful canapés, a pre starter and pre desert as well as lovely petit fours with our coffee. Each course was explained in detail as was the wine. The restaurant has great views of the city and has a lovely atmosphere. The food was sublime and we both thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.

Best dining experience I had in Berlin so far, a step beyond other places in its class. The langoustine was heavenly, the beef simply exquisite - I get waves of pleasure just remembering that dish. Perfect, subtle wine pairing. Professional, friendly service, relaxed atmosphere. Top notch all around, even though the ambiance could maybe do with a little update, slightly 90s vibes. But that is purely a nitpick, we had a wonderful evening and considering the quality of the kitchen and service you have to wonder - why only one star! Can't wait to come back.

Good presentation, decent ambience , great views and location. Was a bit warm inside. No food choices. Just a preset 6 [ 180E ] or 8 [ 220 E ] course menu, plus alcohol. I felt it was on the expensive side for the overall experience, you only live once.

Service and food were fantastic. The six course tasting menu with wine pairing was wonderful and the amuse-bouch’s were just like extra courses . The Sommelier described / selected the wines to a T to complement the brilliant courses. The view over the Tiergarten to the sunset is a must

A very enticing view of the skyline of Berlin, with friendly and attentive staff. The food exceeded expectations and delivered on every dish (of an 8 course meal). The small additions of the chef coming to great the guests, great Amuse-bouche dishes and a great atmosphere made the overall experience outstanding!

Das Essen war standard eine Mischung von supermarket essen sehr gut dekoriert . Schade! So schlechte Essen habe ich in Gourmet restaurant noch nie gehabt . Die Kellnern war toll, personal sehr aufmerksam.

Great location, 14th floor of the Intercontinental hotel in Berlin, great views especially in the evening. The food is equaly amazing especially the fish serving and deserts. The wine pairing is absolutely fantastic, every wine is served at the right tempetature and goes hand in hand with the food. Another impressive aspect is how well the serving is done, not only thoroughly explained but also tailered to every guest, makes you feel special and welcomed. Definitely a restaurant to visit again!

Very exciting experience at Hugos restaurant. Since the very first moment you step in the restaurant located at the 14th floor of the Intercontinental Hotel in Berlin (the elevator is located on the left side of the lobby) you will be able to enjoy the excellent service of the staff working at the restaurant. The 6 courses menu was simply delicious and the creativity of the Chef will make you enjoy new tastes. Nice atmosphere and definitely one of the best restaurants in Berlin.

Unreliable online booking system that ended up ruining the whole experience. Even after confirming credit card at booking time no confirmation ever arrived. No good responsiveness at all from emails and telephone numbers indicated in the webpage asking for explanation. I had much better experiences both on booking and eating in the restaurant in the past but I edit my response and qualification due to the recent events. A pity but also unforgivable.

We had the 6-course tasting menu paired with wine. They cook food seriously, and what’s more highlighting is the wine pairing and sommeliere, we enjoy his professional explanation very much.

From the moment I first started communicating with Hugos it was a five star experience. Communicating with Nicolas was a smooth, and enlightening experience while we navigated my reservation. Skip to months later, I arrived to Hugos and from the moment my boyfriend and I walked in it was as if we were being treated as royalty. I didn't once touch a door handle as they would always beat me to it and hold the door open, they paid great attention to the details (in a way I never could've fathomed). From intentionally pulling out my chair and replacing my napkin when I would stand up, to the artistry of every dish we had. It was more than I could have imagined, truly. The wine pairing was magnificent and every description given to us was an exact replication of the flavors in the wines. Each course that came out had perfect dimension and layers along with a fine attention to detail. Some flavors I never knew existed. By the end of the meal I felt as though Nicolas and his team felt like family by the interaction and the comfort in the atmosphere. I would hands down recommend this experience to anyone and I will be returning when I return to Berlin once again. With the price tag you may be a bit wary but this is much more than a restaurant, it's a fully immersive experience. Thank you.

Echte ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ,ich halte mich persönlich für sehr kritisch, auch was Preis/Leistung angeht, genau hier sind 5-Sterne uneingeschränkt gerechtfertigt. Im letzten Jahrzehnt habe ich in Berlin schon so einige gastronomische Erfahrungen gesammelt, Essen & Service sind weit überobligatorisch, da sollten die gefeierten Sterneköche mal hospitieren um eine Ahnung von Perfektion zu erahnen. I‘ll be back.

Wunderbares Berlin-Panorama, außerordentlich exquisite Gänge mit persönlicher Note und Grüßen von Eberhard Lange, aufmerksamer u. schnell zirkulierender Service u. Weinbegleitung, 1A-Erlebnis für exklusive Gourmetliebhaber. Hut ab, was diese Meisterküche zaubert und wie aus besten Zutaten Kunstwerke für Auge und Gaumen entstehen.

Toprestaurant! Van begin tot einde lekkere gerechten en heerlijke bijpassende wijnen. Prima prijs/kwaliteit verhouding. Mooi uitzicht over Berlijn vanop de 14de verdieping.

Wir hatten das Restaurant an einem Samstag abend relativ früh besucht und hierfür auch 6 Wochen vorher reserviert. Positiv war, dass alle 8 Gänge handwerklich absolut fehlerfrei waren und uns gut gefallen haben. Die Weinbegleitung war auch größtenteils gut. Unser Tisch war leider eine absolute Katastrophe - so miserabel habe ich in über 20 Jahren noch nie in der Sternegastronomie Platz nehmen müssen. Abseits der Fensterfront, im Gebäudeinneren befindet sich eine Bank vor einer verspiegelten Wand. Vor dieser sind im Abstand von weniger als 1 Meter (laut iPhone-App 85cm) blanke Tische positioniert. Während man an den beiden Enden noch über Eck sitzen kann, sitzt man sich an den Tischen in der Mitte zwangsläufig gegenüber. Einer schaut somit in den Raum und aus den Fenstern, der andere sitzt mit dem Rücken im Raum und Gang und hat auch noch eine große Spiegelwand hinter seinem Begleiter. Der junge Mann, der unsere ungläubige Reaktion wahrnahm, äußerte auch spontan, dass er die Tischeinteilung nicht vorgenommen habe und es ihm leid tue, aber man ausgebucht sei. Wir hätten unserem ersten Eindruck mehr Glauben schenken, an dieser Stelle gehen und auf das 8 Gang Menü unter diesen Bedingungen verzichten sollen. Gesteigert wurde die individuelle Atmosphäre unseres Tisches durch den Lautsprecher, der sich in der Decke unmittelbar in Nähe des Tisches befindet und eine Konversation unmöglich machte. Die beschwerliche Kommunikation wurde vom Service bemerkt und durch Reduzierung der Lautstärke umgehend behoben. Die 8 servierten Gänge mit Gruß aus der Küche gefielen uns hingegen wirklich gut; es wurde sehr solides 1* Niveau, manchmal auch ein Tick mehr, in handwerklicher Perfektion geboten. Zu kritisieren ist lediglich die Portionsgröße einzelner Gänge: Ein 2 x 2 cm großes Stück Steinbutt ist für einen Fischgang auch bei einem 8 Gänge Menü nicht ausreichend. Das Hugos wäre gut beraten gewesen, den Servierenden mehr Hintergrundwissen über die Gänge zu vermitteln. Es wird zwar präsentiert, aber Rückfragen können nicht beantwortet werden. Zum Service: Es ist schade, dass uns nicht angeboten wurde, nach 4 Gängen zu einem der freigewordenen Tisch am Fenster zu wechseln. Es ist schade, dass 2 zu 90 % volle Gläser der Weinbegleitung ohne Rückfrage abgeräumt wurden. Diese beiden Punkte auch symptomatisch für eines der Hauptprobleme des Restaurants: Jeder macht seinen definierten Job, aber keinen mm mehr. Im Ergebnis für uns leider äußerst bedauerlich.

Ein nobler Ort hoch über der City West mit phantastischem Ausblick. Aber das Wichtigste ist die 1-Michelinstern-Küche von Küchenchef Eberhard Lange. Keine Schnäppchenpreise, aber zum Gebotenen angemessen.

Jeden einzelnen Stern Wert , und dieses in jeder Hinsicht! Dazu himmlische Aussicht über Berlin!

Wunderschöne Aussicht und tolle Atmosphäre

Es war ein Traum. Ich bekam den schönen Abend von meiner Frau zum Geburtstag. Von der Begrüßung bis zum Abschied war es Sterne Niveau. Das Essen war zu schön angerichtet um es zu essen. Es war ein tolles kulinarisches Erlebnis. Und wir waren nicht das letzte mal dort. Gratulation!

Magnifique vue panoramique, cuisine excellente...

Überbewertet. Lieblos. Bedienung sehr dreist, fast frech. Das Essen gut, daher die 3 Sterne. Atmosphäre sehr ungemütlich, da hilft auch nicht den grandiose Blick, oder Blick ist nicht alles, wenn dem Rest nicht passt. Nicht empfehlenswert.

Meine Freundin und ich haben das Restaurant gewählt, um unsere 41-jährige Freundschaft ehrwürdig zu feiern. Das Restaurant liegt wunderschön über den Dächern von Berlin, ein wunderschönes Ambiente! Das freundliche, zuvorkommende Personal und die ausgezeichnet, qualitativ hochwertige Küche (jedes Gericht ein kleines Meisterwerk) bescherte uns einen rundum gelungenen Abend! Meinen ganz großen Dank gilt meinem lieben Johannes Gehrich und seinem Team in der Küche, die diese Meisterwerke kreiert haben! Macht weiter so, ihr seid toll!

Schreckliche Telefonistin, keine Geduld

Wir waren kurz nach der Wiedereröffnung nach dem Lockdown im Hugos und hatten einen schönen Abend. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und sympathisch. Uns haben alle Gänge gut bis sehr gut geschmeckt. Mein persönliches Highlight war "Räucheraal & Kalbskopf". Nun könnte man anmerken, dass das 8 Gänge Menü keinen wirklichen roten Faden hatte und es wenig echte Überraschungen auf dem Teller gab. Aber ich fand gerade letzteres eigentlich sehr angenehm. 8 handwerklich tolle Gerichte ... wunderschöne Aussicht über Berlin ...was will man mehr ... Vielleicht noch ein kleiner praktischer Tipp: im Sommer einen leichten Pulli mitbringen. Nur im Hemd war es mit der Klimaanlage irgendwann recht frisch.

Schöner Blick auf den Tiergarten und erwartungsgemäß exzellentes Essen. 180 Euro sind für 8 Gänge und ein paar Extra-Schmankerl aus der Küche in Ordnung.

I was going to eat at Hugos on my day of arrival in Berlin and was a little tired before I went and not entirely in the mood - I'm very glad I did go as the restaurant was exceptional, with great views over Berlin. The restaurant offers a vegetarian menu, which is always a good sign, albeit a bit shorter than the non-vegetarian menus. I was pleasantly surprised to have an offer of a 5 course menu, one more than the advertised max, especially as the additional dish was well worth having.

Had New Year's dinner here last night. Service and staff are great but food was not of quality we had thought of standards for a Michelin rated restaurant. Also the dinner included only wine and champagne for the night. No beer or cocktails. Not worth doing the NYE dinner for anyone interested. Save your money and time and go elsewhere.

Wir hatten hier einen wunderschönen Abend. Tisch am Fenster mit tollem Blick. Wir hatten uns für das Menü inkl. Weinbegleitung entschieden. Das Essen und der Service waren sehr gut. Einziges Manko, wir fanden den Preis für die Weinbegleitung überzogen.

Hier erhält man beides: Sympatische und flotte Bedienung.Ich für meinen Teil hätte mich am allerliebsten vor Hunger erst mal durchprobiert, aber dann wäre nicht der geringste Platz für das gute Mahl mehr gewesen.Das Lokal ist durchgehend fein und wir hatten hier einen tollen Nachmittag.Meine Schwestern und ich das Gasthaus zeitgemäß für sämtlichen Veranstaltungen — unwesentlich ob mit Freund, Freunden oder Verwandtschaft.

An einem solchen Ort und für ein solches Essen ist es nicht schade, zusätzliches Geld zu hinterlassen.)

Ein Fest fürs Auge und Gaumen! Mein besonderer Dank gilt der Belegschaft für den unvergesslichen Abend in absoluter Wohlfühlatmosphäre.

Shocking experience. Weird menu, over hyped. Not what I expected or am used to in a Michelin star restaurant.

Great food and even better wine menu. The head waitress is skilled and knowledgable and the staff creates a cozy atmosphere. Hugos is a must-visit for foodies in Berlin.

Ein wunderbarer Abend mit hervorragenden Speisen liegt hinter uns. Das Team um Herrn Lange überzeugte und überraschte u.a. durch freundliche persönliche Atmosphäre, tolle Gerichte und köstliche Gänge. Frischer weisser Trüffel wurde uns vom Chef persönlich am Tisch gerieben und zusätzliche Gänge waren mehr als toller Ergänzung zu einem wunderbaren Essen. Vielen Dank an Herrn Lange und sein tolles Team.
