Stuffy Asian-fusion boredom that is neither fish nor meat. Culinary wise, it is overshadowed by Good Friends and every Ishin restaurant in Berlin. Showy wine list with bottle prices of up to 16 thousand (!) EURO. Who wants that today?

There were three of us there yesterday. Paid 1500€+. Menu with wine accompaniment. Did the visit make me happy.No!!! It's not a menu or a visit to a restaurant in the classic sense, it's a taste event. I had this experience in Thailand for a few euros and had full plates and no teaspoon portions. A good Thai in Germany can do something similar for a tenth of the price. When I go out to eat, I need a good restaurant and not a hyped taste event location. My overall rating was good, the wine accompaniment was excellent. But the store doesn't make you happy.

I had such a good time! I got invited there as a thank you - never been to such a high end restaurant. I have some restrictions food wise (can't have Milk protein) and I never felt better taken care of and like the staff is really looking out for me. They even called in advance to talk to me about the options and what is possible. Everyone was super attentive and friendly and the atmosphere is warm and relaxed. I loved the food!! Everything was incredibly tasty and there were combinations that just broadened my food horizon. I have no actual comparison on this level, but my company did and they thought the food was outstanding as well. So all over, if you want to do something special, you won't do wrong here ♡

Dear Tim Raue, Where to begin with this post? I vividly remember in 2018 sitting at the television in the living room of a home in Florida coming across your episode of Chef's Table on Netflix and upon starting it, I was instantly mesmerized with your restaurant, your food and with Berlin. I appreciated and connected with your story and felt so captivated learning about the winding road it took for you to open a 2-Star Michelin restaurant. That is all it took for me have the desire to experience Restaurant Tim Raue in person. And so, a couple of Fridays ago I finally did. It was better than anything I could have imagined. I was blown away by the service received at the restaurant from start to finish, as though everyone was moving in perfect harmony while playing a complex symphony. Upon being seated, we were tended to our every need and never felt neglected. I was looking forward to the menu being served and loved that I got a card outlining every single dish being presented that evening to me. Now, if we're talking food, I am so happy that I entrusted my palette to your kitchen. Every course was so perfectly presented and upon tasting it, I was met with a spectrum of flavors that worked so harmoniously well together. If I had to pick my favorite course, it would definitely be the Wasabi Langoustine. I had wanted to try it every since I saw it on Chef's Table and it was divine. I also tasted things I hadn't ever tried before, like imperial Caviar with sprat, which blew my mind with its umami flavor and wagyu beef cheek, which was braised to perfection. I really am so grateful to have had the privilege to dine at your restaurant. It is the single most memorable food experience I have ever had in my life and I will never forget how special I felt and how immaculate the food was. Please continue inspiring everyone at your restaurant to doing amazing work so that many more people can experience the unbridled joy I felt with every moment dining at Restaurant Tim Raue. I've traveled globally for many years as a businessman and was asked to join my work colleagues here. From the very second I entered the restaurant to my last step in the restaurant. We were treated like royalty. The service was extraordinarily amazing and I am extremely sensitive to this. The food was beyond my wildest expectations. The wine selection was off the charts. I was once invited to a 2-day trial work. Without payment, of course. There was no response after that, not even by email. It is obvious that probationary workers are being exploited as free short-term staff. Pretty bold. I worked in a Michelin-starred restaurant in France. I have to say, the Tim Raue Restaurant simply can't keep up. ZERO stars!

We visited the restaurant for the first time on November 7th. Table for two. We were really looking forward to a relaxed and culinary challenging evening. Unfortunately things turned out a little differently. Rather mixed. As soon as we arrived, we only had a short opportunity to sit down and acclimatise and our menus were taken. So far so good. However, a staccato of courses followed. Just for orientation: An eight-course menu was rushed through in just over 2 hours. Although I tried to eat very slowly and asked the waiter several times that we wanted to take our time, we hardly had the opportunity to finish the accompanying wine, then the glasses were immediately exchanged or new glasses were put in front of us and the next course began served. Some of the individual dishes were very tasty, but this approach did not live up to the standard. About the food: I'm actually used to other star restaurants where, for example, the greetings from the kitchen are sometimes presented and served individually to acknowledge them. This was not possible here. All greetings from the kitchen. We were served in a single place beforehand. Hardly any explanations. And if so, then only extremely sporadically. And then the price. In my opinion, a menu price of just under €300 for a two-star restaurant is quite sporty but okay. But charging an additional €200 for a simple wine accompaniment with water and a coffee is more than demanding. So we actually paid €500 per person or just over for a meal that lasted just over 2 hours. In my opinion, completely overpriced and not corresponding or adequate to the quality.

Wir haben am 7. November das Restaurant zum ersten Mal besucht. Tisch für zwei. Wir haben uns sehr auf einen entspannten und kulinarisch anspruchsvollen Abend gefreut. Leider kam es etwas anders. Eher durchwachsen. Kaum angekommen, wir hatten nur kurz die Möglichkeit, um sich hinzusetzen und zu akklimatisieren wurden unsere Menüs aufgenommen. Soweit so gut. Es folgte jedoch ein Stakkato an Gängen. Nur zur Orientierung: Ein Achtgang menü wurde in knapp etwas über 2 Stunden durch gejagt. Obwohl ich betont langsam versuchte, zu essen und den Kellner mehrfach darauf angesprochen habe, dass wir uns Zeit lassen wollen, hatten wir kaum die Möglichkeit, den Wein der Weinbegleitung auszutrinken, dann wurden die Gläser sofort getauscht beziehungsweise neue Gläser hingestellt und der nächste Gang wurde serviert. Die einzelnen Speisen waren zwar teilweise sehr lecker, aber dieses Vorgehen ist dem Anspruch nicht gerecht geworden. Zum Essen: ich bin es von anderen Sternerestaurants eigentlich gewohnt, dass beispielsweise die Grüße aus der Küche teilweise einzeln präsentiert und serviert werden um diese zu würdigen. Dies war hier nicht möglich. Alle Grüße aus der Küche. Vorweg wurden auf einer einzigen Platz serviert. Kaum Erklärungen. Und wenn, dann nur äußerst sporadisch. Und dann der Preis. Ein Menü Preis von knapp 300 € für ein zwei Sternerestaurant ist aus meiner Sicht schon recht sportlich aber okay. Aber für eine einfache Weinbegleitung mit Wasser und einem Kaffee zusätzlich mit 200 € zu berechnen ist mehr als anspruchsvoll. So haben wir tatsächlich pro Person 500 € beziehungsweise knapp drüber für ein knapp über 2 Stunden dauerndes Essen bezahlt. Aus meiner Sicht völlig überteuert und der Qualität nicht entsprechend beziehungsweise nicht adäquat.

A delight in every respect 👍 After we had spent a not very pleasant evening at Rutz a few weeks earlier and my husband no longer wanted to go to a star restaurant, I invited him to Tim Raue on the eve of my birthday. He felt comfortable from the first minute. The ambience, the extremely authentic and highly professional team as well as the perfectly coordinated courses with great wine accompaniment gave us an unforgettable evening and reconciled it with star restaurants. Even as a regular visitor to gourmet restaurants, I was deeply impressed by the experience at Tim Raue. Starting with the relaxed atmosphere, the excellent, very young service and of course the food, which was served at the highest level. Rarely have I experienced such a consistently perfect menu sequence, with the signature dish “Wasabi Norway lobster” as one of the absolute highlights. I was also very impressed by the hake, as (in my opinion) it is only rarely possible to prepare a balanced dish from the white fish's meat, which is actually not very aromatic. Here already. Respect. I'll definitely come back.

A culinary revelation. Table for two people (corner table), which was great because we were able to exchange ideas directly: not only about the ambience, but also about the extremely friendly and competent service, as well as, of course, and especially about the excellent food! Ambiance: lovingly furnished, exudes a feeling of cosiness without appearing kitschy. Lots of great details and a very good selection of images. Service: extremely competent, incredibly nice and courteous, very well organized. There were always questions about the wishes and speed of the individual menu items in the process (we really liked that). We would have liked a little more, a more precise explanation of the origin of the food, but that is complaining at a very high level. Menu: We decided on both menu variants, plus some signature dishes (Klops + Norway lobster). What can you say: great play of aromatic worlds, very successful play of textures, depth of taste and excellent presentation on the plate. And we were surprised again and again... Conclusion: if you want to invest the money for an unforgettable evening (such a complete evening has its price), then Tim Raue's restaurant is in good hands! There was even a birthday candle on the table (very thoughtful). We will definitely come back again.

A little disappointed to be honest. There was no clear restaurant manager taking charge of the dining room. The restaurant lacked service and direction from the staff. We got the sense the staff were cold towards each other and didn’t want to be there. There was clearly too many staff working for the amount of customers, so it was awkward seeing them trying to stay busy but at the same time not actually doing anything…It was very bizarre. The vegan menu was ok at best. The standout dish was the carrot with wasabi and also the planted steak. I’d recommend swapping the planted chicken with something else if you have the option, it was a bit dry. Overall, the chefs are clearly talented but the experience was underwhelming due to the staffing issues.

We fulfilled my wife's big wish to eat at Tim Raue Restaurant's 2 star restaurant here! ❤️ As soon as we entered we were greeted warmly and in a very friendly manner and escorted to our table. We had already discussed for a long time whether we would both decide on the same menu or not. The right choice was for everyone to order their own desired menu: I had the “Kolibri X Berlin” and my wife had the “KOI” menu. Both menus were sensationally delicious! 😋😍👍 The service was incredibly attentive and very, very friendly. It was an incredible and very beautiful and very, very tasty evening! Wir haben lange vorher schon diskutiert, ob wir uns beide für gemeinsam dasselbe Menü entscheiden oder nicht. Die richtige Wahl war es, dass jeder sein eigenes gewünschte Menü bestellt: ich das "Kolibri X Berlin" und meine Frau das "KOI" Menü. I had great expectations of the restaurant and they were 90% fulfilled. Great expectations because I think very highly of Tim Raue and his restaurant is one of the top 50 in the world. My husband and I flew to Berlin specifically to test the restaurant. Yesterday the time had come. We were given a corner table which I personally really like. However, it was a bit too loud. (Too loud for a gastronomic 2 star restaurant) I liked the decoration. We decided on the Kolibri menu because the Koi menu was too Asian for me. I wanted to eat a little Berliner style, which was made possible with the Kolibri menu. (The Königsbergerklopse were a DREAM) I looked at the comments here on Google the day before. Many wrote that it was too salty, too sour, etc. Well... I love it when it's salty, spicy, etc. and I can tell you that it was really at my taste limit. The food was extremely spicy and tasteful. People who don't like heavily salted foods are out of place here. The little fish soup shot at the beginning immediately blew me away. It was extremely salty and spicy. Good for me but my tongue had to fight a bit. The menu was fantastic. Everything tasted great except (which is very surprising) the bee sting dessert. All the flavors were present in this dessert. There was no harmony and my taste buds were just dead in the end :D Overall a nice experience! Something completely different. And you also have to be fair and say: He dared to do something. You won't find this much spiciness, acidity, taste, etc. in other star restaurants. I will come back.

Review for my visit last year; I realized I had forgotten them: I've already eaten vegan in a few fine dining restaurants. Hands down, it was by far my best vegan fine dining experience to date at the RTR. First of all, I find it stunning that there is a vegan menu as a “normal” standard, one of three. The design of the menu is also worth mentioning: attention is paid to protein, in the end you are full, and perfectly full (not overcrowded, but not with a growling stomach either). Taste: Fulfills exactly what Tim stands for in the omni koche - a great spiciness, demanding acidity, perfect sweetness and herbal structuring notes. It was a super pleasant pace, with attention paid to the guest. The service was relaxed, yet absolutely respectful of “vegans” and answered all the questions I had about my passion for cooking. In addition, you could observe the perfect coordination being undermined - in my opinion an absolute difference to 1* restaurants, which of course also do this very well, everything is simply a little more choreographed without being impersonal to the guest. I chose the wine accompaniment, which can also be fully recommended - I even discovered a new favorite wine! Conclusion: Go and enjoy the vegan menu, even non-vegans won't miss anything, as you can immerse yourself in exactly the same world of flavors 😉

I wish I could rate it zero stars. This is the worst service that I have ever had. Go anywhere else when in Berlin.

Imposible de culpar, sin embargo, como chef australiano (acostumbrado a ver un paladar de sabor asiático en el trabajo) , un poco deprimido que tuve que venir a Berlín para verlo manejado con este nivel de refinamiento. Solo una reserva real... esto es lo más caro que puede llegar a ser un almuerzo (comparable a la oferta de Gagnaire) y Raue vale igualmente cada euro. Our experience started great, starters very very cool, great presentation and amazing tastes. Unfortunately, along the way, especially with the main dishes all of us felt that it was overly salty (2 people had koi menu and 2 people kolibri) and this really impacted our experience. Petite fours were unfortunately big disappointment as well. Service was fine but lacked attentiveness and not what I would have expected from 2 michelin stars service. I would certainly be curious to come for a different menu in the future

Restaurante muy único. Tuvimos una experiencia gastronómica encantadora! Exactamente lo que esperarías de un Michelin de 2 estrellas. Los platos eran excepcionalmente creativos, casi demasiado creativos, pero nunca se pasaron de la raya. Disfrutamos de los maridajes de vinos y tuvimos el muchacho escribirlos para nosotros. Era bastante difícil encontrar el restaurante escondido en el callejón. Casi perdimos la reserva mientras la buscábamos. Sin embargo, fue una gran experiencia.

What a wonderful evening, Dinner on a Saturday. Starting by entering the interesting location where all the staff great one, one is placed at the table, an appetitive (choice of champagne) is offered and then the culinary experience may start. With a choice of 2 main and a vegan menu, one is also able to add or subtract dishes with tim raue’s classics which I did. A delightful chain of sophisticated courses followed, each with a unique taste and a palette very close to my personal one. Tim Raue has created a unique menu which is close to his personality and experience which brings an enjoyable and tasty experience. Highlight was the duck course and the personal welcomes by Mr. Raue himself, I was told that nowadays he is rarely on the restaurant on Saturday dinners which made the evening even more memorable. Compliments to the service team for an excellent service delivery, one could notice the excellent protocol and touch of personality of each staff member, especially Cecile who guided with a pleasant, comfortable and close touch my journey. Will I come again: Yes!!! Do I recommend this place? Yes!!

Great and repeat visit. I had 5 courses of the vegan menu. Crisply seasoned and with great flavors, almost all of the dishes were a delight. The service was sometimes a bit too distant for me. However, the process and time management worked well, and overall I was well looked after.

TLDR: terrible food quality, mediocre ambiance, bad service. Let me elaborate: I have been to at least a dozen michelin starred fine dining restaurants across Europe and north America. So I think I do know what I am talking about (saying this because the waiter attempted to discredit me as I gave them feedback on food quality). This restaurant generally charges similar amount as fine-dining restaurants in NYC or London, about twice of what you would find in Spain (e.g. Barcelona, San Sebastián), but in terms of quality it is not qualified on anyone’s list. Two problems: the most egregious one being taste! I don’t know how they can serve course after course with such overly salted dish. Essentially, all you can taste is extremely salty and sour. I understand restaurants tend to have sharper taste, but I seriously question anyone with a normal palette would find the level saltiness and sourness acceptable. Yes, of course you do expect each course being beautifully presented but under that facade is just terribly salty and disappointment. The second problem is service, particularly the arrogance or defiance when customers give them feedbacks. There was another group when we dined, who also find it salty. They expressed their opinion and got lectured by the waiter that they didn’t know how to appreciate their food (they need to mix the ingredients up). I overheard the waiter’s arrogant response. So when I voiced my opinion, I prefaced with the fact I did mix and still find it way too salty. But got the same answer. Oh, atmospher. We were seated in the basement with no windows, which would have been fine. But we were seated at a corner under overly bright spotlight directly above our forehead with no ability to dim it down. And it is HOT. We we asked if we could dim the light, the waiter said no he couldn’t. When we asked if he could turn the AC lower, the waiter said, just you know other guests will complain it being too cold. It was an extremely disappointing experience. I can’t comprehend how could this restaurant earn its 2 stars?! My advice, skip it.

With great anticipation, I made a reservation at the prestigious top fifty best restaurant in the world. Today the average per capita is 290 euros. It can be said to be a complete mess, as salty as half a can of salt. The question came up midway through the meal. The waiter said this is how the chef cooks. I suspect that my wild boar cannot taste fine chaff. After talking to the diners on the left and right seats, everyone said the saltiness was unacceptable. But the service is online throughout the entire process, and the understanding and matching of ingredients is perfect. Seasoning is too aggressive.

We invited people to two birthday parties and it was a great evening! The atmosphere is modern and casual. This time we had the table in front of the kitchen and were very happy there too!! The menu including Norway lobster and duck was a culinary adventure that should never end... two Michelin stars are more than deserved!!! The absolute friendliness of the team is worth mentioning. The day before the reservation, we briefly visited the restaurant with our guests around lunchtime because we were nearby. Although there was no restaurant, we were warmly welcomed, allowed to look at the table and a very nice conversation developed. Our satisfaction was important to them!

Wir waren zu zweit in dem zu Recht hoch gelobten Restaurant Tim Raue. Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Abend (mit einigen Abstrichen), an den wir uns noch lange erinnern werden. Wir haben uns für das Koi-Menü plus die beiden Signature-Gerichte entschieden: Wasabi-Kaisergranat und Ente „Marie-Anne“ Dazu wählten wir auch die hervorragende Weinbegleitung. Das Menü war aufregend und abwechslungsreich. Eine Geschmacksexplosion jagte die andere und war wirklich ein Erlebnis - die Küche hat die 2 Michelin Sterne mehr als verdient. Die Weinbegleitung war sehr gut, das Highlight war aber der Satsuyama Sake und der Poliziana Montepulciana. Ein Wermutstropfen hat den Abend etwas getrübt. Der Service entsprach unserer Meinung nach nicht dem höchsten Standard. Der Wein wurde zum Teil quer über den Tisch eingeschenkt, die Gläser wurden auf die Speisekarte gestellt, das Auf- und Abdecken erfolgte abwechselnd von der linken und von der rechten Seite. Eine klare Struktur war nicht erkennbar. Wir hätten uns gewünscht, dass wir von einer Person + einem Somalier bedient worden wären und nicht in diesem ständigen Wechsel. Außerdem hätten wir uns auch gewünscht, einen Weinausdruck zu bekommen, wie es in Restaurants dieses Niveaus üblich ist (An dieser Stelle ein herzliches Dankeschön an die Person, die sich die Zeit genommen und die Mühe gemacht haben, die Weinbegleitung handschriftlich aufzuschreiben). Deswegen würden wir, wenn möglich eine 4,5 geben.

Let me begin by saying the food is in no way bad. However, at this price point, simply good food is not enough. Out of the 8 dishes I was served, only one was memorable. The rest were simply fine. Nothing was offensive or lacking in quality, but there was much left to be desired. As some other reviews have noted, many of the dishes featured flavors which were unbalanced. I can’t recommend dining here based off of that alone. The wine parings were quite good, some far better than others. I find it strange that their “signature dishes” are a €44 addition to an already expensive meal. This felt less than artful. The service left much to be desired. While all servers were friendly, none seemed to care much about the food or the wine or the connection between them. Presentations were very brief and not very informative. I speak German, and there was a waiter who presented each wine in German despite the other servers speaking English as my friend who I was with doesn’t speak German. The German explanations of the wines were also very brief, so it wasn’t a language issue. Moreover, the pacing of the meal was much too quick. We hardly had time to enjoy a dish and reflect on it before the next was brought. It leads you to wonder if they aren’t sitting under a warming lamp in the kitchen. The pacing was also uneven. At times we waited what felt like 20 minutes for a dish while others arrived just moments after we finished the previous dish. One server in particular seemed snarky in a way that made us feel less than welcome. Overall, the service was simply lacking in the attentiveness and thoughtfulness that a two star restaurant should offer. The night before my meal here, I had dinner at Rutz. The difference between the two restaurants is striking, and it is clear that Rutz’s third star was highly deserved. There is clearly much good going on at Tim Raue, but the dishes need refining and the service needs an overhaul. The ambiance is lovely. I don’t recommend dining here till they’re able to get some things sorted out, which they hopefully will soon.

Just like e.g. B. the wine recommended by the sommellier “It is what it is”. Brutal flavors, that's exactly my thing. We keken enorm uit naar ons etentje. We kregen de menukaart en ik gaf mee dat ik allergisch ben aan tomaat. Ik kreeg als antwoord wat ik daar dan eigenlijk kwam doen, dat ze mij niets konden serveren. Ik wou terug opstappen maar mijn man had dit gereserveerd voor mijn verjaardag. Na tien minuten kwam ze terug en vroeg hoe ik dit dan deed in andere restaurants. Toen ik een andere Michelin sterrenzaak noemde waar we een paar dagen eerder gaan dineren waren en zij daar geen enkel probleem van maakten, kon het plots toch. Het enige wat ze moesten doen was 2 gerechten van de menu's verwisselen. Jammer van de bediening, want het eten was top! Het zou nog een betere ervaring geweest zijn mocht de bediening iets vriendelijker zijn, of wat minder arrogant.

UNFORTUNATELY we had a very negative experience. My wife felt very unwell after eating a few courses. We asked the service staff for lots of tissues because our noses started to runny at first. After eating my wife almost couldn't breathe. We quickly took a taxi to the pharmacy and then straight on to the emergency room at the Charité Hospital. My wife has never had an allergic reaction. She received CORTISONE immediately upon arrival at the hospital. I don't know what is being cooked with. The menu had a lot of fish elements and strange effects. For me the food was ok but not outstanding.

Why the extremely low rating for the Raue restaurant? Well, we paid almost 800 (!!!) euros for 2 people without accompanying wine (!). This made it the most expensive and the worst star dinner so far. Measured by performance. 1. Out of the 7 dishes, ONLY 2 star likes. The others were either too salty or simply too unspectacular for a star. With one zero less on the bill I would have said a good dinner, but so... waste of money! 2. There is a clear attempt to save on staff. I just don't get a superior feeling from someone with braces (there wasn't a waiter over 30 anywhere!) and from people who can't really tell me anything about the wine or their faces other than what I read on the menu. This clearly doesn't provide the service for me! 3. The ambience of Kochstrasse is Berlin-like, but I would like to have a different backdrop in the star shop than passing tourists and people who like to go about their daily business. There was no feeling of special at all. Apart from that, these uniforms just look cheap on the waiters and the decoration is of questionable taste. I also won't comment on the fact that our neighbors also seemed dissatisfied. That's not my business either. I think the team should start not just resting on the Raue name, but create a great feeling and experience with the food. So it's just not worth the price and I'd rather spend the money on other restaurants.

I ate the Koi Menu with wine accompaniment. The menu was fantastic, the wine accompaniment was not. The wines tasted strange, sometimes too sweet or sweet for me. I left three glasses. The sommelier didn't even ask and told the very hard-working trainee? "He should pour me some more of the wine that I liked." Wine accompaniment 168€. I had the impression that the sommelier wanted to dominate the extroverted flavors of the menu. Sometimes less is more, its charm could be more.

My advice - save your money and go somewhere good that appreciates its customers. There are far better restaurants for cheaper in Berlin. I was at this restaurant years ago and remember it being great... not anymore. We found the food good, but not great and everything seemed to have some heat, including the Berlin menu. The suggested wine was okay had a lot of silt in it, which wasn't decanted or filtered by the staff. The best food was the crustacean broth in the amuse bouche, the hake, and the pike perch. For €850 for two people, this was terrible value - even for a special occasion. I also wrote them a fairly considered email after the visit two weeks ago and haven't received response. To me, that further illustrates their apathy.

The food is absolute madness. The taste buds are challenged and enchanted from A to Z, regardless of whether it is acid, sweet, spiciness or savory. The menus are great and the display is a feast for the eyes with every course. The duck, pork knuckle and especially the zander were extraordinary. There are no full marks for the food because the amuse-bouche at the beginning has been the same for two years. Two years ago there were 4 pieces of duck breast, last year there were 3 pieces. Ambience: The lighting concept on the upper floor is really just middle class. Service: Friendly and attentive. It doesn't have to be that the water is stored on the shelf next to the table and is at room temperature until the third glass. The otherwise nice waitress also had to list the complicated dishes what felt like 678 times and was so bored that she looked around the room and was bored... Despite these small weaknesses, we don't know of a better restaurant in Germany❤️

So now Mr. Raue. The reception was very friendly. Calmly friendly. Zero slimy, reservedly humorous and so nicely thrown off the cuff. We were shown to the table, which would also have been my favorite. A young lady suggested that she would accompany us through the evening. At some point I asked her her name, just because she was so charming and funny. Cecilia. She told us that she was self-taught, which gave me a wow effect because she was (is) wonderfully confident and professional. Just enough to eat. Every course is a little experience. E.g. zander with a kind of sauerkraut jus. What a wonderful explosion in the mouth. I can (unfortunately) only rave about the service. Attentive, unobtrusive, always present and calmly friendly. It's reputed to be one of the best restaurants in Berlin, and we really enjoyed it. We were well served. On the other hand, several aspects are regrettable: 1. The place is quite noisy. We expected some privacy. 2. Exactly 3 menus, rather copious, are offered... and that's it. No menu for a bird's appetite, and even fewer à la carte choices. 3. A formula with "Weinbegleitung" is not offered, which requires ordering bottles of wine without much character to go with the dishes from the 3 menus. In short: a good restaurant but which could do much better at such a price.

We had the vegan menu on Valentine's Day. The table was nicely set. The service was very good but a bit stiff... you can show your personality a bit. We are in Berlin :)))) and as a Berliner I want waiters with personality. The menu was OK, great start, the finish wasn't to my taste. There was also a greeting from the kitchen in between. However, I was extremely disappointed with one dish, namely the one with the planted meat substitute. Buy the planted in Rewe and no marinade or anything, I honestly don't know if it was fried at all, so it looked completely raw. It tasted accordingly. The curry, for example, was absolutely amazing, it was the first course and I was super hyped afterwards.. To be honest, I wouldn't come here again because I think it's extremely overpriced for a vegan menu. They don't have cocktails either.

Sounds promising, but it doesn't hold up. The oysters and mussels were wonderful, but the rest was unfortunately disappointing. The ceviche was boring. Very small plates, but high prices. It seems uninspired and random, with no real common thread. The service was too arrogant for me. There was no recommendation or advice about the wine and the plates were carelessly placed in a very strange sequence. If the tipping expectations are not met, you as a guest will be treated condescendingly. That hasn't happened to me in a long time. I expected a lot and unfortunately I'm not sad that I can't do it again here.

The food was very impressive, and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire set menu. I also really appreciated the ambience and design of the space—it was lively without feeling overcrowded, and the blend of chatter and music created a pleasant background for our dinner. However, I’d like to provide some feedback on the service, which felt quite uneven. Despite noting my date’s shellfish allergy, the staff repeatedly offered us oysters and later poured oyster sauce over a dish that could have otherwise been enjoyed without worrying about the allergen. Additionally, a glass of wine that wasn’t finished was taken away too soon, and the pacing between dishes was sometimes too long, which disrupted the overall flow of the experience. That said, we absolutely loved the food and still recommend visiting the restaurant. We hope the service improves so Hallmann und Klee can shine even brighter.

After reading some negative reviews due to the change in ownership, we were initially unsettled. However, completely baseless. Absolutely friendly service, lovely atmosphere and excellent food. Also worth highlighting is the very good price-performance ratio of the surprise menu as well as the sufficiently large portions! The portions were just as big as the normal main courses a la carte. We like to eat very well and we all agreed that we hadn't eaten so well in a long time. The only small suggestion for improvement: my main course (Chickenwomanizer) arrived a little lukewarm. If necessary, preheat the plate more. But otherwise excellent. The quality of the food, the location and especially the service are great.

Inventive cuisine, with some very interesting flavors and textures. We went for the 6 courses menu and wine pairing, which was a +4 hours adventure. Tables and the dining room itself are quite small.

As a guest of the Rutz restaurant in Berlin, I can confidently say that my visit there was unforgettable. The dishes are not only beautifully presented, but also incredibly tasty, bringing your taste buds to true ecstasy. The service is perfect - every waiter is professional, polite and knows everything about wines and dishes. The wine list is impressive, offering a wide selection of excellent bottles that pair perfectly with the dishes. The atmosphere at Rutz is elegant, but at the same time pleasant and casual, which makes the time spent here pass very quickly. This is a perfect place for a romantic dinner, a business meeting or a special occasion. A visit to the Rutz restaurant is not just a meal, it is a real culinary experience that stays in your memory for a long time and leaves an indelible impression. It is worth visiting this place and enjoying the unique taste and atmosphere.
