Great food, great service. So it's worth eating outside.

This restaurant does very basic dishes you find in a low end Vietnamese restaurant only plating them nicely and mimicking service in a high end restaurant but in an in-genuine way. Besides it’s lame the waiter said he has “ A LOT of recommendations” which essentially means he recommends all the food. Underwhelming and unsatisfying overall.

Every dish is a taste explosion and you won't want to stop. The restaurant and the whole atmosphere is very cozy. It is located about 1 minute from the Rotes Rathaus subway station in the Nikolaiviertel, near Alexanderplatz and is easily accessible by public transport. You can really have a good time at Moon Exquisite. The prices are very affordable for this top quality.

This concept is unique and an enrichment for every palate. Hoa and his team will enchant you into another world. Love goes out. ENZO

I had the pleasure of dining at Moon Exquisite Restaurant and it was simply an amazing experience from start to finish. The entire atmosphere is incredibly inviting and sophisticated, which immediately creates a pleasant mood. The decor is modern but at the same time very cozy, and the view from the window completes the experience. The service was first class - staff were attentive but not intrusive at all times, and they had a remarkable knowledge of the menu. It felt like you were being personally cared for, which made the meal even more enjoyable. Each course was a true masterpiece, both in terms of taste and appearance, and the selection of dishes was varied and innovative. Particularly noteworthy is the quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail that went into every dish. It was clearly noticeable that a lot of emphasis is placed on freshness and taste. The prices are absolutely appropriate for what is on offer and reflect the high quality of the food and service. Whether as a romantic dinner for two or for a special celebration – Moon Exquisite is the perfect place to spend an unforgettable time. The entire experience was completely perfect and I will definitely come back. If you are looking for a special culinary journey, you should not miss this restaurant!

An experience for the senses! The Moon Exquisite restaurant in the Nikolai district is truly a very special place. You feel welcome as soon as you enter - the service is extremely friendly and attentive. But the real highlight is the food! The Dry Age Brandenburg free-range duck is simply indescribable – juicy, tender and full of flavor. I have never experienced such quality before. And best of all, the prices are incredibly fair for what you get. Added to this is the fantastic view of the banks of the Spree, which rounds off the entire experience. Moon Exquisite will definitely be my new favorite spot in the heart of Berlin!

We were excited to visit this restaurant as the pictures of the food looked amazing but it exceeded all my expectations. Every dish was beautifully prepared and utterly delicious and the staff were really friendly and helpful. I can’t wait to go again to have more of the menu!

The restaurant is in an excellent location, next to the river, offering a beautiful atmosphere and a relaxing environment. The cleanliness of the place is exemplary, while the staff is particularly kind and helpful, creating a pleasant experience in terms of hospitality. However, the food did not meet our expectations. Although we wanted to try something different, the flavors did not impress us, which is probably due to the different culinary culture. In addition, the portions were small, while the prices are considered particularly high in relation to the quality and quantity of the dishes. Overall, despite the welcoming atmosphere and the excellent location, the dining experience and the quality-price ratio were not satisfactory.

Yesterday I was looking for a restaurant that I visited with a good friend 13 years ago. I found it too, but unfortunately it was closed. However, since I was hungry and didn't want to go far, I looked at the neighboring restaurant. Beautiful colors, very stylish from the outside already. When I read that there was Asian fusion cuisine here, I was hooked. So why not, take a look inside! In the entrance area you are welcomed at the bar before service, with a classic reservation desk, a beautiful bar... the in-house ripening cabinet also suggests and promises a lot. I was promptly welcomed, my wardrobe was taken away and I was offered a place. The guest room itself is divided into two rooms and impresses with its modern elegance in dark green tones paired with some gold and subtle mirrors. Beautifully set tables with white tablecloths, cutlery and glasses. You can see the desire to offer some upscale gastronomy here. A small drawback, paper napkins instead of cloth, but more on that later. The selection of food and drinks is limited, which I find to be a good thing as a restaurateur and chef, because you can always see the freshness and quality of the products. The same applies to the operators' perspective on their concept and the desire to always be able to offer their guests good quality. Let's get to the process. As an aperitif there was the house's own rose sparkling wine, very tasty and more than fair in price for Berlin standards. Since I wanted to be surprised, I decided on a 4-course surprise menu. At €58, this is very well priced, you don't get too much but not too little either. At the start there was a greeting from the kitchen which was served here in the form of a soup... a "Tom Yam soup". As an Asia fan, I was very happy with it. I would like to make a small suggestion for improvement here...! A little bread and butter at the start or just in between would loosen things up a bit and bring more joy to the guest and more time to the kitchen. The starter was pork belly from Duroc pork, cooked sous vide for 16 hours. Very tender with a yet beautiful crust, all components worked together to create harmony. In the second course there was a wonderful confit scallop. I've eaten a lot of them, but this one was special! Butter is tender and with a world of aromas that I have never had before. For the main course, the senior service employee asked me which I would prefer... entrecote or rump steak! I said that the chef should please decide what he recommends. It came with the entrecote...I just wanted it to be medium rare! You know what's coming...unfortunately it didn't work. Nevertheless, I got it new without any complaints and it was exactly right. Here too I gave the advice that it would be better to cut the steak a little smaller but thicker! That makes it easier... to get a medium rare steak that's not even 1cm high, even I would have problems sometimes. Enclosed was a wonderfully dressed mashed potato to put in...plenty of butter and lime zest...fresh and simply wonderful. The dessert was a crème brulee with a scoop of ice cream...also a dream. The whole thing is accompanied by a bottle of Sauvignon blanc from Rheinhessen. Nice drop. This was rounded off with a degistif, where I received an addition to my order directly from the service without any charge. It was a beautiful evening that I can see eye to eye with colleagues in my profession. Conclusion: An up-and-coming restaurant with room for improvement in terms of service, but the kitchen is well positioned and you can feel a really nice and sincere hospitality here. I just wanted to try something new and ordered a three-course menu here. The first bite sent me into a taste ecstasy. The different flavors and extras that accompany the dishes come together in pure harmony. Unfortunately my day didn't go so well that day, but after dinner it was still perfect! I would especially recommend the cheesecake as dessert, juicy but not too sweet and the taste is in a different world. The condition must be mentioned separately. Very friendly, fast and attentive in what is otherwise a service desert in Germany. I can't understand the negative reviews at all, the price was definitely worth the food and service! I will definitely come back when I need a break from everyday life.

A very good reconversion of Balthazar which we almost no longer recognize. There is now a more “fusion” cuisine of multiple inspirations. Their white Châteauneuf-du-Pape is very good.

We had an exquisite meal at Moon on Valentine's Day and had the Valentine's Day 4-course menu as a couple and it was just great! Fine ingredients and a great combination of different flavors that you don't know before and simply taste incredibly delicious! Absolute recommendation, we will definitely come back!

Very good food. The little greeting from the kitchen, an excellent little soup in the cup, is always particularly good. Interesting combinations of Italian and Japanese cuisine with good wine and wonderful dessert. For guests who want to eat vegetarian and no seafood, only fish remains. A purely vegetarian meal would be desirable for the future. We have been coming here for birthdays for several years. Table requests were made possible. Thank you for that! Overall very friendly service. My review was based on the Balthazar 2.

We were there spontaneously and would be regular guests if we lived in Berlin. We had pumpkin soup, organic silken tofu in a crispy coating and a vegetable side dish and it was really delicious. The service was very friendly, quick, caring.

Stoped in on a cold day for some drinks and tapas. Excellent service. Beer and wine were great. Had 3 tapas, pork belly, burrata, and the carrot soup. Recommend all 3. Pork belly was great - the risotto it was served on was cold but still tasted great and there was only 3 pieces for party of 2. Always weird. The burrata was served with some fruit/crackers and enjoyed. Would have had multiple rounds of the soup if we weren’t on the go!

Nachdem ich einige negative Bewertungen aufgrund des Eigentümerwechsels gelesen hatte, waren wir zunächst verunsichert. Jedoch völlig grundlos. Absolut freundlicher Service, schönes Ambiente und hervorragendes Essen. Hervorzuheben ist auch das sehr gute Preis-Leistungsverhältnis des Überraschungsmenü sowie die ausreichend großen Portionen in diesem! Es waren genau so große Portionen wie bei den normalen Hauptgängen a la carte. Wir gehen gerne sehr gut essen und waren alle der Meinung, dass wir lange nicht mehr so gut gegessen haben. Einziger kleiner Verbesserungsvorschlag: mein Hauptgang (Chickenwomanizer) kam etwas lauwarm an. Ggf. Teller stärker vorwärmen. Ansonsten aber hervorragend. Qualität der Speisen, der Location sowie insbesondere der Service super.

After reading some negative reviews due to the change in ownership, we were initially unsettled. However, completely baseless. Absolutely friendly service, lovely atmosphere and excellent food. Also worth highlighting is the very good price-performance ratio of the surprise menu as well as the sufficiently large portions! The portions were just as big as the normal main courses a la carte. We like to eat very well and we all agreed that we hadn't eaten so well in a long time. The only small suggestion for improvement: my main course (Chickenwomanizer) arrived a little lukewarm. If necessary, preheat the plate more. But otherwise excellent. The quality of the food, the location and especially the service are great.

We drove here a little skeptically when we came to the restaurant, wow......great ambience, a lot of attention to detail.....and then Anh Hoa conjured up a variety of creations for us......a taste explosion , the Amazing.......I can more than recommend this restaurant.......We were thrilled and would love to come back......

Unfortunately, Balthazar 2 no longer exists as we knew it. The owner has changed. There is now only Asian cuisine and you have to like that. The ambience is visually no longer what it used to be. Everything dark green and gloomy. It's a shame that one of our favorite restaurants has been lost again.

It's a shame the crash after the change of ownership. No carbohydrates, e.g. bread, ordered meat 'rare', got shoe soles, everything was lukewarm. Cuvee of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon touted as a white wine. Poorly invested money

Haven't been to this restaurant for a while. We booked it again and were very surprised that even though the name was the same, it was now more of an Asian restaurant. Unfortunately my pickled beef was totally rushed with soy sauce. Won't be back.

Food is delicious, very exquisite combination of tastes and plating. We decided it was the best meal we had had in Europe so ordered dessert (crème brûlée). The atmosphere was a bit quiet (but it was a Sunday afternoon). Music was charming. Highly recommend.

We were guests at a birthday that was celebrated at Balthazar. The 5-course menu was perfect from start to finish, visually beautifully presented and I couldn't fault the preparation or taste. The service was very attentive and responded to every request.

As an old visitor of this place I have similar experience to many, that is rather disappointment, that leads to conclusion to never come back. The change of concept, chef and the menu, is up to every business, however, here i feel, there is a certain luck of transparency, that is expected from business that charges quite a big coin for a meal. The trust this place built by giving top notch service and really high quality kitchen is being used now selling mediocre Asian food that does not justify the price. So if you coming for Balthazar you used to once know and love, it’s not there, don’t go. For a new place owners I’d really suggest to be more transparent and reconsider their price strategy because the quality is not there.

We have often been guests at Balthazar, but after today we probably won't visit this restaurant again. The food is not worth comparing to the usual quality. There was no greeting from the kitchen, no bread. We suspect a change of ownership. The restaurant was highly recommended, but can no longer be visited. The Wiener Schnitzel was coated in a breading that was so thick and dark that it didn't separate from the meat. The potato salad was sour, the lemon slice was old. The braised water buffalo was dry and came with fried onions that were inedible. The last time we were there was in December 2023 and, as always, we were very satisfied. What has happened in the last few months is incomprehensible. If the owner, Mr. Zurbrüggen, still exists, we would like to talk to him. It's a shame, but such a meal would never have left the kitchen under his supervision. An invoice was actually created for the inedible, returned food with the words: What was ordered must be paid for. I will spare myself any comment on this. The food was not paid for!

We celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary at Balthazar2 with the 12-course surprise menu. The evening was sensational! The food - all 12 courses - was outstanding, from water buffalo in truffle sauce to cordon bleu and veal fillet! Very high quality, super tasty - with matching wines. The service was actually even better - the best service I've had in Berlin in years. Every wish was implemented immediately, with wonderful ease and friendliness. Unreserved recommendation for special evenings - we will definitely come back regularly. Thank you again for this perfect wedding day!

We've been to you several times and this time we came specifically for the water buffalo because it tasted so good the last time. The last time I visited was disappointing as I had great expectations of a delicious meal. This time the slices were pretty greasy on the outside. And the celery mash, well. And some fried onions were very hard. All in all we paid 70 euros for 2 people. That's fine for an atmosphere like this. However, we have a restaurant where we are regular customers and nothing has ever disappointed us.

Excellent wines, excellent service, well-balanced and well-prepared dishes

Excellent performance... The greeting from the kitchen (cold tomato soup) was so spicy that four out of six guests couldn't drink it. Schnitzel and potato salad were excellent. The hash browns didn't taste like anything. There was nothing on the menu for children and the staff recommended potato gnocchi with chanterelles to the 3-year-old - the kitchen couldn't make tomato sauce. We sat well outside. The restaurant is not responsible for the honking car demonstration and the bad street musician.

Were there for the second time. Unfortunately we were disappointed this time. The starter was delicious, the greeting from the kitchen only came after the starter, the main course was missing a component that would have made the dish, the only answer was to ask, the kitchen didn't make it in time today, no apology or prior information. The dessert was again very good. Unfortunately, the service was more about smoking than serving the guests. It's a shame, I would have liked to enjoy the good cuisine from the first time again.

Good food, pleasant atmosphere and good service.

It’s a dining, but not fine. I’ve been here with friends for a special occasion; we had a tasting menu (4-course meal). The starter was perfect, the soup was salty, and my friends couldn’t finish it even with beer. For me, it was ok and delicious. The main dish was nice but too simple. The dessert was a total disappointment (strawberry theme); the taste was artificial. But if the food was more or less ok, the service was a disaster. We had to wait a lot for someone to come and get our order, and when they finally came, they turned to another table in the middle of the conversation with us. Only one girl explained the dish when we asked her. Others didn’t know the menu and didn’t care about our experience. We paid €170 for three persons for average food, bad service, and a loud street musician nearby, and they wanted us to tip 🤡 Please note that in Berlin, you must choose the tip amount on every terminal. And they have it starting from 10% to 20+. Zero is not an option on the screen; you have to choose it manually.

The service is terrible. My friends and I ordered food, they didn't get food. Although the waiter discussed with me and recommended the food to me. After about 40/50 minutes of waiting and my asking, it turned out that he wrote it down but didn't pass it on. There was no apology or offer of any compensation. This for a restaurant like this is simply unacceptable.

Food average, but nice atmosphere and location on the Spree

In the last few years I have been a guest here from time to time on business trips, for dinner with a larger group of colleagues, for a cafe or for lunch with a small group. The food is good, the service was always good and the location on the Spree can't be beat. I'm looking forward to next time.

We only had one menu choice without any other information. The waiter sighed because my mother took more than 1min30 to choose her drink and when she asked him the difference between the different beers he replied "it's just bier" while rolling his eyes

Great experience. Fine surroundings and friendly, helpful service. This is a walk to location beautifully situated on the river. This is white asparagus season and both a soup and the vegetable as a side were delicious.

Beautiful Spring day. Chose a window seat over outside seating for easier conversation. Enjoyed white asparagus as soup and my wife as vegetable with Schnitzel. Prices were very reasonable. Staff was friendly and helpful and seemed proud of their restaurant.

Een mooie gelegenheid, gelegen in een hoekje aan de Spree. Met enige twijfel gereserveerd, omdat ik niet zo weg loop met de term Nouvelle cuisine. Maar een warm welkom en een mooi aangekleed restaurant wat een warme sfeer uitdraagt wekte verwachtingen.De zeer vlotte en aardige bediening en het buitengewoon lekkere eten deden mijn laatste twijfels verdwijnen. De borden waren prachtig opgemaakt,( en voldoende) de wijnen prima en de rekening zelfs nog iets onder verwachting. Met 5 personen in een luxerestaurant op zaterdagavond en dat voor 400 euro. Hier wil ik graag terugkomen.

Sucht man ein Restaurant in der Innenstadt von Berlin, hat man darüber auch etwas mehr Zeit, sollte man sich diese Lokalität nicht entgehen lassen. Hier stimmt einfach alles! Auf Empfehlung suchten wir im März 2024 das Balthazar auf. Als Vorspeise gab es eine asiatisch inspirierte Ente in einem Knuspermantel ähnlich wie bei einer Frühlingsrolle, verbunden mit einer angenehmen Schärfe in einer Sesamöl-Soja-Soße. Köstlich. Als zweiten Gang wurde eine Suppe von gelben Mungbohnen mit weißem Balsamico und einem diskreten Senfsalat serviert. Danach wurden wir mit einer gebratenen Buttermakrele in einer grünen Mojosoße und einer geräucherten Schwertfischcreme verwöhnt. Alles zusammen einfach himmlisch. Das Kalbsschnitzel mit lila Kartoffeln, gefüllt als Cordon Bleu mit einem Allgäuer Frischkäse war herzhaft und auch knusprig zugleich. Der krönende Abschluss bildete die Birne Helene, etwas moderner interpretiert mit Vanilleeis und frischer warmer Schokoladensoße am Tisch erst auf die aufrecht stehende Birne gegossen. Wahrlich ein kulinarische Gaumenschmaus. Abgerundet wurde das vorzügliche Essen durch einen äußerst aufmerksamen, stets unaufdringlichen Service, der den Aufenthalt hier sehr angenehm gestaltete. Jederzeit wieder!!

We celebrated my birthday with friends at Balthazar 3 days ago (17 people). It was a very beautiful evening. Everything worked out, as previously discussed. All employees were friendly, attentive and quick. The food was very tasty, the wines were excellent. We felt completely comfortable and well looked after.

We stayed at Balthasar 2 with 4 people and had a very nice evening that we will remember for a long time. The food was so surprisingly prepared and delicious! The amusements in between also demonstrate a high level of hospitality. Our waiter Brani accompanied us through the evening in a competent, friendly and humorous manner. Thank you! We will be back!!

We were in Berlin for a few days from Hamburg, so we decided on the restaurant. I can only recommend everything, but don't forget it's a High Claas restaurant :)

Feisad, a super guy and great host at Balthazar2 😋 There was no sign of a gastro crisis in the evening at Balthazar with the 5-course morning post menu. A warm welcome and attentive service that continued throughout the evening really made the culinary demanding evening a very pleasant experience. Feisad lives the saying “the guest is king” calmly and with heartfelt hospitality. You could really feel that he enjoyed his job. We were full of praise and at the end he confessed, “Now I’m blushing.” The high level of professionalism of the Balthazar team with boss Holger Zurbrüggen was also reflected in the excellent five-course menu, which successfully mixed Asian and local flavors. The pear Helene served at the end of the trip sent the tongue wistfully back to familiar culinary realms. What could be better than a warm farewell late at night after a thoroughly successful evening and the sincere promise “See you next time…”.

We didn't expect a meal like this. We were really excited about the morning post menu. Unfortunately the acoustics were really difficult. Due to the high rooms and the materials used, it was very loud and echoed strongly. The service was attentive and friendly.

My number one point of contact in Berlin! Super pleasant service, which shines with its courteous manner and excellent attention. Big compliments to the entire team behind the scenes. We can highly recommend both the menu and the independent a la carte selection. The menu is optimally portioned and perfectly coordinated. Unbeatable price-performance ratio! The corresponding wines are wonderfully selected and impress with their exquisite aromas. We had a quiet table in the back room surrounded by light sounds of musical accompaniment and subtle decoration, which created an absolutely harmonious audiovisual ambience during the meal. I give full marks for the overall acoustics and the play of light fluctuation reflected in the glasses! All in all, the Balthazar at Spreeufer 2 is a definite must-do in Berlin and sublime on every level and of course highly recommended. I would like to thank you for the great evening and the unforgettable culinary experience that made this unforgettable excursion perfect.

La verdad es que el menú de gala con maridaje de vinos nos sorprendió y estuvo muy bueno. Lamentablemente el servicio, a pesar de intentarlo, deja mucho que desear. No saben controlar los tiempos y no son muy profesionales. La calidad precio (79€ pp.) está muy bien en mi opinión. Pensaría sí repetir por el servicio,pero la comida de 5 pasos estaba muy buena.

We ate the Valentine's Day menu there and it was truly an outstanding experience. The food was extremely delicious! What particularly impressed us was the service. I haven't experienced such attentive and hard-working service staff in a long time. We'd love to come back!

Unbearably rude. I urge to stay away. I have lived and ate all around the world (and berlin). Never in my life have I had this bad of an experience. Edit to answer your comment: It’s all fine if the place is fully booked. I am not complaining for that at all. Your staff kicked us out when we were simply asking to get a table. And we did not even insist on it, we entered and just asked for a table…We were in disbelief of what had just happened. There is no excuse for treating people like this, let alone customers. You should consider retraining your staff from 0. One good note: The young guy was actually nice and trying to explain the situation before the other dude bullied us out.

Beautiful women's day. The service was amazing as well as the culinary experience, great performance from the chef, great taste 👍 Service really attentive and great. We'd love to come back. This makes eating out fun. Thank you for that . 2nd visit after celebrating Valentine's Day - thrilled again 👍 simply great!

The food is ok but the guests often think they are crass because they eat there. I was just with Balthazar. Ambience unfortunately among these selfish ultra-capitalist people. Unpleasant clientele.

A very mixed experience, from wonderful - rabbit pie, oriental and chocolate cake - to a shame - well prepared seawater prawns with a fine sauce and stuffed mini peppers but unfortunately almost completely charred potato and beetroot slices - to bad - Viennese schnitzel with inedible breading that doesn't change either left to scrape off, with sticky, bland potato salad (I already had a bad review, unfortunately I didn't learn anything). I said this to the waiter and it was received warmly. As an apology, we gladly accepted a grappa and a coffee, which unfortunately ended up on the bill. When I asked in a friendly manner, the bill was corrected, but without any expression of regret. The service, at first very friendly, but then zero, we had to take our own coats and there was no farewell. It's a shame (also the absence of the owner). We probably won't come back...

An all-round successful evening. A real museum moment. Super nice service - nice spot by the window and divine food. Calzone with purple potatoes black salsify soup Beetroot risotto White chocolate & coconut parfait Absolute recommendation - winter ❄️ as well as summer ☀️ - I'll definitely be back.

We went on December 26, unfortunately it was a public holiday.. we were well received (hence a star) but once seated there was only one dish on the menu.. without the prices displayed. It was 30th the dish without real vegetables (if there were any) but the meat was not bad.. (hence the 2nd star)

Wir haben das Restaurant vom Concierge unseres Hotels erhalten. Waren echt begeistert richtig gutes Essen mit sehr guter Weinauswahl. Ein richtig guter Geheimtipp ! Vielen Dank wir werden im Sommer wieder kommen!

Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist sehr gut in diesem Restaurant. Also: die Küche sehr zu emfpehlen, das gilt für alle Gerichte, die wir gegessen haben. Unverständlich ist das Verhalten des (Ober-?)Kellners: Er hat sich das Trinkgeld selbst genommen! Will sagen: Er hat uns nicht herausgegeben, sondern das Restgeld, das er in der Box hätte zurückgeben müssen (nach den üblichen Gepflogenheiten!) einfach nicht zurückgab. Das kann man nicht machen: Trinkgeld, das wir bestimmt gegeben hätten, seine Leistung war so schlecht nicht, ist eine zusätzlich Belohnung für eine gute Leistung, kein Muss! Daher: Vorsicht bei Barzahlung! :-)
