We had high expectations based on many recommendations and excellent reviews and were really looking forward to our visit to Jellyfish. And we were not disappointed. The service was excellent and the food was high-quality and very flavorful. The presentation was fantastic, as was the combination of different flavors. The menu was exciting and overall of a very high standard. While there weren't any "outliers" on the positive side, we would definitely come back and try other dishes. The music was a bit loud and unfortunately, they didn't turn it down even after we told them otherwise. And the wheat beer was warm and served in the wrong glass; but thankfully, Bavaria is a long way away. Overall, a very pleasant evening.

There was a small problem at the beginning because my online reservation couldn't be found. However, this was resolved promptly and professionally, and I was still seated. I've been here several times. The food is always outstanding, and the service is always very attentive and pleasantly natural. We've eaten both the Michelin-starred menu and the Bistro menu here. While the Michelin-starred menu is naturally much more extensive and delights on many levels, the Bistro menu is, for me, the best value for money I've ever experienced in a restaurant.

We hadn't dared to go for a long time—after a disappointing first visit xx years ago—unjustifiably, as it turned out! The restaurant—with outdoor seating in the summer—impressed us with truly delicious, diverse, and successful flavor combinations (ponzu, saffron, blanc de beurre, etc.) and a remarkable attention to detail. The presentation of the "fish-centric" dishes was also top-notch. The service was lively, dynamic, and professional—very pleasant. The only thing I didn't understand was why they served boring Heineken beer.

This was our 3. visit at the Jellyfish. I love the creative, but not too exaggerated dishes, and never had a course I didn‘t like. Next time I‘m in Hamburg I will definitely come again!

We opted for a 5-course menu and enjoyed a wonderful variety of dishes, all of which were delicious. The service was excellent, the welcome was super friendly, and it continued until we left the restaurant. Unfortunately, space in the restaurant is a bit limited, and the chairs aren't particularly comfortable—but you're there to eat, not to spend a cozy evening on the couch. The value for money is great. A great team!!!

I went to Jellyfish with a friend for the first time in a while. It was a Thursday. The place was completely packed due to the "Gourmet Summer" promotion. The atmosphere was still good, though. There were enough staff, so our seven-course meal ran smoothly. The individual courses were good to excellent. Not so great: The plates often came straight from the dishwasher and, in some cases, were warm/hot even when cold courses were served.

We had the three-course lunch menu in the bistro. The quality was really good, but the portions were very small (more like fine dining courses), except for the dessert, which was very generously portioned. The service and ambiance were okay, but could be improved. It's fine, but the overall package could definitely be improved.

It was an impressive experience, we will definitely come back

We had lunch at Jellyfish and were once again thrilled! Every single item on the plate was fantastic, and when combined together it was a treat for the palate! The optical design of colors and shapes on the plate is always particularly successful - small works of art! The wine pairing is great as always, as is the excellent service!

Five of us were there for a Hamburg gourmet menu. The seating was cramped and uncomfortable, right in front of the bar, a bench without a backrest. The food was very tasty and imaginatively presented, but not enough to fill us up. The wine was very scarce, and once even under-poured, which was only reluctantly corrected after discussion with the wait staff. The service was not up to par with a Michelin-starred restaurant.

A small, quiet restaurant in the lively Schanzenviertel district. The dining room is small and simply yet beautifully designed, with some outdoor seating on Weidenallee. The bistro menu for lunch on weekends offers great value: three courses for €54, or 4 and 5 courses for €10 more each. The service is young, unobtrusive, and attentive; the food is straightforward, unfussy, and of excellent quality. The compositions are simple, coherent, and to the point; this is a restaurant I would happily recommend. The clientele was mixed and pleasantly "normal." We felt very comfortable; my children also enjoyed the food and were "hooked" on the culinary side. Thanks to the whole team for the wonderful time!

We ordered the four-course menu, and it was simply outstanding. Wonderfully balanced flavor nuances, subtleties, and compositions that delighted us. A tartare of yellowfin tuna on a melon composition with feta espuma – the description didn't appeal to me, but the composition was simply stunning. The same goes for the following wild garlic soup with basil and eggplant. The main course of trout fillet on peas didn't quite impress me. Here, the understated trout simply couldn't compete with the strong peas and the outstanding dashi sauce. The dessert was again a dream. The wines: a good selection and pleasant accompaniments. The service was unobtrusive, pleasant, and attentive. We'll definitely be back – at the very latest when the new menu arrives.

This was my third visit to Jellyfish. I've always opted for the "big" menu and have never regretted it. The combination there is simply fantastic: a very relaxed atmosphere, a focus on seafood, and Stefan Fäth's very special style, beautiful plates where flavor still remains the focus.

A bit happy...beautiful plates, attentive service, but...one course was way too spicy, one course was unspectacular, but two courses were a great joy and enjoyment. Lots of wines on the menu, with a decent mark-up, the open wine is actually even more expensive, but...the wine recommendation is a hit and again a great pleasure. The atmosphere is familiar, cozy, but almost too narrow, too close, too loud. We had light and shadow. There is definitely room to develop further, to become even better and perhaps to accommodate customers in one area or another (beverage prices).

Creative fish cuisine prepared and served with a lot of spirit. The atmosphere is more relaxed than in other starred restaurants. We always enjoy coming back, both privately and for business.

Delicious food, cozy and nice staff

We felt very welcome and comfortable from start to finish. The food was a dream and the service was very attentive and competent. The only point of criticism: When we ordered we were told that water was included. At the end we charged €22 for the water for two people. We consumed well: 5-course menu with wine accompaniment plus aperitif. After the water was advertised to us as free, we were a bit surprised... Otherwise everything was TOP!

Today we decided on the 4 course menu with lamb. An excellent Veltliner from Fritsch with the tartare and the lobster soup with crustacean flan. A red South Tyrolean with the lamb. Everything was great again. Great service; Thank you for that. And there's not much to say about the quality of the food. Always great!!!

The 1 Michelin star is absolutely deserved. Very nice menu with North German elements and flavors that are certainly not easy or impossible to find in combination. Service top, ambience casual but still with a touch of class. Of course the price is very high, but absolutely fair and right for the quality.

It was our first time at Jellyfish and we were completely satisfied; the 6-course aroma menu more than filled us up. The alcohol-free accompaniment opened up new worlds of taste and is a real alternative to the wine course.

During our stay in Hamburg this year, we booked a visit to the Jessyfish restaurant again and were really looking forward to it. As always, the arrival was very pleasant. Unfortunately, this time we were disappointed with the taste of the individual courses. Visually, everything was brilliantly presented. However, the individual delicacies were somehow too extreme. There wasn't a single course that we thoroughly enjoyed. That was completely different. It's a shame. The non-alcoholic drinks weren't to our taste either. With one drink, the waiter told us in advance that the drink would only appeal to 50% of the guests. With the next course of drinks, the waiter knew whether it smelled too much of sauerkraut. We find it incomprehensible that people would still stick with it after having had negative experiences. All in all, we'll reconsider whether to add the Jellyfish to our itinerary next time.

It was actually fully booked - but polite whining and whining helped! By God we didn't have the best table in the house, but by God we didn't sit badly... Menu was great, the wine pairing was high quality and with a nice balance between classic and surprising, the service was great. We had a fun evening!

Great Art does not arise from the desire to be everybody’s darling. Without any doubt this evening has been a wonderful experience, although all three of us had our moments where getting the message was kind of challenging. Apple and Peach wine in the wine pairing was a fearless approach that definitely accepted to cause some irritation. Both did make sense with the corresponding dish, but at least I was unable to find a common ground and become best friends with this selection.

Very cozy little restaurant with super friendly service staff and sensational food. Flexible in wine advice, professional but not rigid. This is how we imagine a special culinary evening.

Regional und so frisch, dass ich fast mit einem Fisch per Du war. Das Menü? Eine Sinfonie auf dem Teller. Die Weinkarte? Durchdacht und voller Entdeckungen. Das Personal? Freundlich, professionell und mit einer Begeisterung, die ansteckend ist. Und dann – die alkoholfreie Weinbegleitung! Ja, richtig gelesen. Endlich mal eine Begleitung, die mit den Speisen flirtet, ohne dass man danach lallend das Dessert bestellt. Chapeau! Das kleine, gemütliche Lokal versprüht Charme – fast wie ein Wohnzimmer, in dem man sich sofort wohlfühlt. Apropos Sehenswürdigkeiten: Die Toilette ist ein Erlebnis für sich! Wer also nach dem Hauptgang noch eine kleine Entdeckungstour starten will – nur zu! Fazit: Ein Top-Abend von A bis Z, den ich nicht so schnell vergessen werde. Wer gutes Essen liebt und keine Lust auf kulinarische Langeweile hat, sollte sich schleunigst ins Jellyfish treiben lassen.

A very impressive experience! The aroma journey really pulls you back and forth and opens up flavor intensities that I haven't experienced before. The service was remarkably attentive, knowledgeable and always with a bit of humor. All in all, a very impressive first insight into star gastronomy. We'll be back as soon as the next VL contract is due ;-)

Absolute disappointment. We were at Jellyfish for the New Year's Eve party after our original reservation on the 30th (with enough notice) was canceled due to renovations. On the phone they promised a nice evening with a kitchen party and nice drinks. First of all, the food was very good, as was the wine selection. The rest of the concept was a total failure. About 100 people squeezed through the store, there was a(!) bar table, used dishes were piled up everywhere and one or two broke. There were also a maximum of 15 seats, everyone else tried to lean against the wall and somehow enjoy their food. The mood became increasingly tense, both among guests and staff. The eternal queues (sometimes 15 minutes for a small bite) then did the rest. I expect a restaurant of this quality to have a decent concept for such a special evening. It ruined our evening and we left after less than 2 hours. An absolute disaster that also saved the great food and wine. The 200€ per person you could have invested better.

We ate at Jellyfish on December 26th, 2024 and made a reservation in November. We treated ourselves to the 5-course bistro menu and our expectations were not disappointed. Anyone who goes out to eat at Jellyfish should be aware that the majority of dishes come from the sea. However, there are also other specialties from the land or from the air. We found the atmosphere to be harmonious, but the tables for two are almost a bit too small. We were almost completely satisfied with our food, but as some comments here confirm, the food is very salty. For us it means well seasoned and edible, but it shouldn't be more than that. If you value a low-salt diet, you could discuss this with the staff in advance. Unfortunately, the duck in the main course was also slightly tough but still very tasty. Unfortunately, we also found several comments about the unclear pricing. We also didn't quite agree with the price on site, as we had reserved the 5-course menu in advance for €69.00. This price was also excellent on the online site. But on the card it was €74.00 and we had to pay that too. *Addition to the price* We were told on site that the price was valid until December 23rd, 2024 and that the IT changeover would not work as quickly on December 24th-26th because no one was working. Now on December 30th, 2024 the price is still €69.00 online. Although today is a normal working day and so is December 27th. Are customers lured into a restaurant with incorrect prices and then ripped off with overly seasoned food and too little content? - 1 star. The welcome was warm and the service was very friendly and good. The information about the food and drinks was also excellent. However, we discovered that despite the high prices, the quantities of wines were not appropriate. We didn't want to say anything about it in the restaurant because we wanted to be sure beforehand. But if you pay an average of €10.00 for a glass of 0.1 wine, you can assume that you will get the right amount in the glass. Attached you will find example images. Since I also work in the catering industry myself, I would rather pour the guest a drop more than run the risk of it being too little. All in all, we would like to come back for special occasions. Our bill amount for 2 people was over €180.00. It's a nice experience, but for this price more work should be done with customer feedback. We wish you a happy new year and much success next year!

Great experience. Great food, great service. The whole team is involved and can get that across. We found the price performance to be adequate. However, wine prices are high and the water fee of €9 per nose is a bit high. But of course that doesn't make much difference overall. This is more of a principle thing in its own right. Unreserved recommendation and we will come back.
