The visit to the two-star Eisvogel restaurant was a truly special experience in every respect. Each course was a culinary delight – complex in flavor, perfectly matched, and prepared with great artisanal finesse.
The service team, led by Christopher Pech, is at least as impressive. Professional, attentive, and pleasantly unobtrusive, they create an atmosphere in which you feel at home from the very first moment. Questions are answered with expertise, genuine passion, and a rare blend of stylish courtesy and relaxed conversation.
While in gastronomy, the focus is often solely on the product, this team impressively demonstrates that the quality of an exceptional evening is also created by human warmth, poise, and attention to detail.
What an evening! We had a great meal here, perfect food, excellent service and a great atmosphere. The team was incredibly friendly, attentive and always there at the right time without being intrusive. A special thank you to Sinja, who really took excellent care of us.
The menu was thought out down to the last detail, every course was to the point. A special highlight: the cordon bleu of sweetbreads and goose liver, which the chef prepared especially for us. Simply brilliant!
There were also fantastic wines, especially the Condrieu La Doriane 2022 from E. Guigal which went perfectly with the menu. We'll definitely be back!
Inventive and clever. The gears are perfectly coordinated. I probably don't have to say a word about the quality of the products and the preparation ;-).
The siblings prove that gastronomy at this level does not need to serve the products with a lot of white linen and fanfare. The atmosphere is relaxed and rather casual.
The wines actually surprised me a lot, I didn't expect this quality and I was extremely positively impressed by Elbweinen. Thanks for that!
As so often, it was a great experience. Many thanks to the entire team!!
Familiar, friendly, PERFECT as always.
The optimal place for well-being and relaxation.
Please keep it up!
This is more of an event than just eating out. Certainly not for everyday wear, but ideal for a special occasion. Since I don't normally go out for such exquisite meals, I can only describe the Setkasten in superlatives: top cuisine, first-class service, cozy ambience. I've never experienced wine pairing so perfectly with food. The price is high, but you get something in return - so the price-performance ratio is good.
I was there a few days ago with my grandparents and I have to say I really enjoyed the food, everything was perfect and delicious. The staff was very friendly and took care of every request. I think my favorite dish of the evening was the rhubarb vanilla, overall I would say a delicious meal that was worth every penny. I will definitely pay the Zeik another visit, I'm looking forward to seeing you soon.
Location:
The Aqua is located in the Hotel Ritz-Carlton within the Autostadt and can be reached by car or on foot from the city center/main train station in about 15 minutes. It is located in the side wing of the hotel on the ground floor, access via the hotel entrance.
Ambiance:
The restaurant has a simple, unobtrusive design, almost matter-of-fact, and offers space for around 30 guests. The tables are generously placed and there is enough distance from the neighboring tables. The view from the floor-to-ceiling windows into the almost Japanese-looking garden and over the water of the harbor basin and the Mittelland Canal to the power plant and the city center is very beautiful. The audience was very mixed, from couples to families to business people. No dress code.
Service:
A young, competent team served perfectly choreographed and at the same time very personal and attentive. Our server, who was mainly responsible for us (many thanks again for the crumbler), the advice from the sommelier and, above all, the very attentive young lady at the cheese cart were committed and their recommendations perfectly suited our taste.
We were greeted personally and, in keeping with the occasion of the evening, there was a personal card signed by the entire team on the table.
The menu:
We had asked in advance for a fish-based menu without meat, which was implemented without any problems.
The seven-course menu offered at least three courses that, from our experience, were 100% perfect in composition and execution, none of the other courses were far from perfect, the flavors were always creatively and skillfully combined, more reduced-simple than artificial; Four different types of citrus were used during the course, and the fish was prepared 100% to perfection. Impressive. The wine accompaniment was appropriately selected and was in no way inferior to the menu.
Conclusion:
A wonderfully enjoyable evening. In terms of the quality of what is on offer - according to the three stars of the Michelin Guide - it is actually worth a trip.
What - despite all the satisfaction - could possibly have further improved the overall experience would have been a somewhat more intimate lighting concept and an overall somewhat more individual, more personally designed ambience.
Thanks to the boss and his entire team for this great experience, we'll be happy to come back!
I had the pleasure of visiting Shiraz in its new location and all I can say is that I'm thrilled! The new environment is more comfortable and personal than the old one, making the entire experience even more enjoyable.
The new chef Reyad has integrated seamlessly into the tradition of the house and is in no way inferior to the previous one. I would give it a Michelin star in a heartbeat! The dishes are not only a delight in terms of taste, but also visually a work of art. Every detail has been prepared with great attention to craftsmanship and it is obvious that the cooking here is with passion. The mushroom risotto was my highlight. The whole menu is perfectly coordinated with a fantastic variety of aromas. The wine accompaniment was TOP.
As usual, Serkan Akgün and his employees were top notch - friendly, attentive and always striving to offer the guests an unforgettable experience.
Overall, Shiraz exceeded my expectations in new surroundings and with new chef Reyad Danah. I can only warmly recommend it and look forward to my next visit! Thanks also to Robbe. A big compliment to the entire team!
I have been to over 40 three Michelin Street restaurants in my life, this restaurant is one of the best in my memory, the chef Kevin Fehling was a great host. A great entertainer responds to every customer and sees that there is a lot of passion and love involved. Really admirable and remarkable, especially as a culinary trip, I would do it again.
