Friendly but at the same time relaxed gourmet restaurant. Not over-the-top or exaggerated like the Residenz Heinz Winkler or similar shops. Nice and attentive (and sometimes quite talkative) service from the reception to the end. Starters were the best, all creative and tasty. Main courses were also okay, although not a single course “knocked us off our feet”. We didn't think the desserts were that great, even though they were actually the simplest. Visually appealing but nothing great in terms of taste. Wine accompaniment was generous and varied. Very good knowledge of allergens. All in one a good experience

Been there several times but this was the first visit since the "new" chef at Business Lunch on Friday: The food was sensational. Big compliment to the kitchen - my highlights were the piece of fillet (tender than butter!!), mackerel, the buckwheat parfait and pumpkin seed sorbet/ice cream with the truffle🤤 really great! Service was very attentive, I like the new visual style. Non-alcoholic aperitif was a bit bland so it would have been better to choose non-alcoholic sparkling wine or something similar. Will definitely come back

Very good restaurant, We had lunch and, if I remember correctly, had the 6 course menu + additional course and you have to say, that is really eating as an experience. Incredibly creative dishes that depend on the season and are really prepared and served to perfection. The food has a lot of very fine flavors that all come into their own little by little. The staff was very friendly, there is also an alcohol-free accompaniment that is really good. For anyone who has never been to a star restaurant and is worried that it might be too pretentious or something similar, I can reassure you, you always know which cutlery is for which and I didn't have the impression that you can't talk to people normally can also make a joke sometimes.

For the second time we had a perfect 5-course lunch here with excellent service and delicious creations. The accompaniment of drinks without alcohol is highly recommended. The atmosphere is inviting and you immediately feel at home. The typesetting box can be reached via the lower floor of the Edeka market. We will definitely come back.

We were looking for a fine-dining restaurant that also offered vegan food. We then found a typesetting box and had a vegan 6-course menu there. We were absolutely thrilled not only because of the food, but also the service was perfect. You can really tell that the courses/dishes are thought out. An evening can't get any better with good wine. Many thanks again to the entire set box team!

This was our first time at a fine dining restaurant and it was truly an all around great experience. I had the vegetarian menu and the non-alcoholic accompaniment and my partner had the "normal" menu with wine accompaniment. Every single course and the accompanying drinks were simply a pleasure. There was also a lot of information about the dishes, which really makes the whole thing an experience. You should bring enough time. We were surprised at how quickly the time flew by, even though we were there for 4 hours. The whole staff was super friendly. Frank relaxed the whole thing and we felt very comfortable. We'd love to come back :)

We have been here for the third time now, both in the evening and at lunchtime, and are once again thrilled. The restaurant is definitely on a par with star restaurants. Not only does the food taste great, but it is also beautifully prepared and served. The service is extremely friendly and you feel in good hands even if you have little fine dining experience. The chef incorporates citrus fruits and herbs and combines them with flavors from childhood. We can also recommend trying out the Chefs Table, as you are right at the heart of the action and get a lot more information. There are also vegetarian menus and great care is taken to accommodate all intolerances and tastes. One more small wish at the end: add piglet tea to the menu again at some point

The food and service were absolutely stunning. The dishes are prepared with total dedication and taste incredibly good. We were also really impressed by the friendly service and kitchen staff. Each dish was lovingly explained and presented. Thank you for this unforgettable lunch, where we were able to get to know completely new tastes.

Food was very good, with the exception of the vegetarian main course. This was a bit weak (celery was still very firm). The service was a bit disorganized.

Definitely the best meal I've had in Düsseldorf and also in Germany. This is truly a Michelin star caliber restaurant. Every course was better than the last. The only negatives I have to say are the desserts, although well-prepared, weren't my personal favorites. I gave the atmosphere 4 stars because the lighting is just way to bright in there for me. But the food and the staff are amazing! Keep up the good work. We'll be back in a few months once the menu has cycled.

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Abend mit Freunden am Chef‘s table. Das Menü war von allerfeinster Qualität und der Michelin-Stern kann eigentlich nur eine Frage der Zeit sein! Die Gelbschwanzmakrele und die Grüntee Pavlova erzielten regelrecht Geschmacksexplosionen wie man sie selten erlebt. Bei jedem Gang spürt man die Frische der Produkte, die jedes Mal anders in Szene gesetzt werden. Das Team um Chef Egor Hopp ist rundum sympathisch und aufmerksam. Fachkompetent wurde in die Gänge eingeführt und auch Rückfragen zur Herkunft wurden beantwortet. Die Preisgestaltung ist m.E. realistisch und angemessen. Das Setting in der Feinkost-Abteilung eines Supermarkts ist sicherlich ungewöhnlich, aber gleichzeitig natürlich auch spannend. Eine absolute Empfehlung für Düsseldorf!

We had the great pleasure of spending an evening at the boss's desk in the typecase. Pure enthusiasm - food, drinks, service, atmosphere, the boss's explanations...!!! We've been to many star-rated restaurants - we have no idea why the set box wasn't awarded at least one star. Anytime again - the 280 km journey is worth it. Thanks!!!

Erst will man es gar nicht glauben, ein Spitzenrestaurant im Untergeschoss eines, allerdings sehr edlen, Feinkostmarktes. Man findet es gleich neben der Champagnerbar. Die Atmosphäre ist von Anfang an sehr angenehm, gehoben, aber nicht abgehoben. Die Begrüßung und Aufnahme ist ausgesucht freundlich, einschließlich eines Besuchs des Chefkochs am Tisch. Die Beschreibung des Menüs erfolgt auf Karten, gestaltet von einer bekannten Künstlerin, zu jedem der insgesamt zehn Gänge des Abendmenüs. Die einzelnen Gerichte sind in ihrer ausgesuchten Finesse schlicht überwältigend, Und auch der sehr aufmerksame Service lässt keine Wünsche offen. Die gedämpfte Nähe des Feinkostmarktes haben wir nicht als störend empfunden. Von der Leistung dieses Restaurants waren wir einfach nur begeistert.

Hidden in the delicatessen department of a supermarket is the Setzkasten restaurant, a Düsseldorf culinary delight. The service was friendly and courteous, the kitchen works quickly and deliciously, the location is interesting: all in all, an all-round successful restaurant. Update: now also with the well-deserved (first) Michelin star! Congratulations!

Yesterday I had dinner in a restaurant with my girlfriend. The menu is really very creative, unusual and very well coordinated in terms of taste. The individual components were very tasty. The wine pairing was really perfectly matched to the menu. The food and wines were explained in great detail and professionally. In fact, I can't remember ever having a menu come across as exciting and interesting to me. Even when there were questions about the food, the service was able to answer everything without help from the kitchen. We had a very nice evening. Thank you!

Sorry, aber man sitzt im Keller. Je nach Tischposition hat man ein „tollen Ausblick“ auf die Toiletten …. Portionen zu klein, Preise wie im Sterne- Restaurant und das Servicepersonal ist teilweise sehr unprofressionell. Und am Ende darf man noch nicht unerhebliche Parkhausgebühren zahlen- super.

The restaurant is in an unusual location: in the basement and in the middle of a large, beautiful food market! The welcome was warm and we felt very welcome as guests. We had reserved and our table request was taken into account; we were seated at a nice, large, round table. The ambience is pleasant, the tables are far enough apart so that you don't hear the other guests' conversations. The meal was an experience; every course was exceptional and very attractively presented; Everything tasted wonderful and was very, very good! My companion had the “normal” menu, I had a vegan multi-course menu. It was very nice that every “normal” course was translated into a vegan version by the kitchen team! We also really liked the fact that the chef kept showing up and explaining what we had on our plates! We had our menu with wine accompaniment; the sommélier was also very friendly and competent. The price-performance ratio is very good for the great experience and the good quality! All in all: I can highly recommend a visit to the Settkasten!

We ate in the casement box before the renovation. I would particularly like to highlight the very nice lady at the reception. Even though the Setzkasten restaurant only gets very good reviews, I have to differentiate a bit. Service: For a restaurant of this class we missed a sommelier. Our waiter was completely overwhelmed with the wine and water service. We had to fend for ourselves several times. Kitchen: The food was very tasty - only the portions (fish & main course) were very, very small. We left hungry. We could have done it like our neighboring table did, because they reordered bread 3 times 😃! Summary: Next time we'll go to a real star restaurant to eat again.

Fantastic, just fantastic. Innovative gastronomy and art at its best. We spent a full 5 hours in the typesetting box and love every carefully selected component of the dishes. The wonderful illustrations by Elisabeth Tans and the fine humor and culinary knowledge of our waiter Frank and every absolutely thoughtful and down to the tiniest detail Planned and harmonious culinary delights are a dream. Many thanks especially to the head chef (cherry picker) and his team de cuisine. There is also convenient parking directly at EDEKA Zur Heide and the restaurant is barrier-free. We will be back.

Wir haben im Setzkasten unseren vorgezogenen 25ten Hochzeitstag gefeiert. Ja klar haben wir gehört das sich ein paar Sachen geändert haben. Aber Punkt 1 die neue Einrichtung ist einfach super ; Punkt 2 das Team ist hoch motiviert und immer da wenn man sie braucht und nicht sichtbar wenn man einfach nur genießen will und Punkt 3 und das ist der Hammer , was die Küche schickt hat auch jetzt wieder einen Stern verdient . Innovativ , verspielt, köstlich und immer wieder einen Besuch wert, nur weiter so

The Setzkasten restaurant is located downstairs in the supermarket. The waitresses are all super friendly. Everyone is very involved in the kitchen. We decided on the lunch menu and also treated ourselves to the lobster. Overall, a well-rounded affair. It was a lot of fun.

This was our fourth time in the setting box and as always we were not disappointed. The lunch menu offers star-level food at a good price/performance ratio. The employees are very attentive and the service is always top. We'd love to come back.

Update March 17, 2022 Definitely improved. Service and quality. Update 2024 Shame about the type case. While service was perfect, the case was disappointing in other respects. That was my 10th visit. Price/performance is no longer right. The portion sizes of all dishes appear to have more than halved in 12 months. The quality is high, the quantity greatly reduced.

A great evening in the typesetting box. The menu is simply great! Delicious! Nothing was missing. The only small point of criticism is the service. The wine accompaniment for one course was only brought upon request (after the course was already in front of us) and the finale was unfortunately forgotten or only served after we had pointed it out. Otherwise, great presentation of the individual courses and wines at the table. Definitely worth a little trip for us!

Today was our 5th visit to the typesetting box. Thanks to the redesign, we like the restaurant even better than before. The ambience is more relaxed and elegant, but still offers guests more privacy in their seats. We have been very impressed on each visit, but the current menu has been taken to a new level. The menu concept was consistent from start to finish and the accompanying wine complemented our entire stay perfectly. At this point we would like to positively highlight the very attentive and friendly sommelier Martin, who accompanied us through the menu. Many thanks to the entire Setkasten team for this unique experience! We are looking forward to the next time!

Absolutely great! Much more than just normal dining out as you know it. It was truly an experience that everyone must have had. Everything prepared with so much love and effort and worth every penny! We had never been to a gourmet restaurant before and yet we felt very comfortable and had a special, unique experience!

I am very pleased with the food, service and attention to detail that the chefs and service provided during our visit. A clear recommendation to anyone who loves good food.

My wife and I last visited the Setzkasten gourmet restaurant in April 2024. This was my third dinner there after Dec 2021 and Jan 2023. Service: The team was very friendly and very accommodating. There was a good atmosphere, which had a pleasant effect on the relaxed atmosphere. Eat: The menu was again carefully planned and implemented. I would now generally choose the kitchen style. as a mixture of classic and modern elements. What was very striking in my opinion was the extensive avoidance of Asian interpretations. For this purpose, some Eastern European interpretations have been used under the again changed - namely now sole - kitchen management of Mr. Hopp. In my opinion, the cuisine largely maintained the standard compared to the last visit: I found the confectionery very good, but noticeably reduced. Overall, I would rate the starter with bluefin and the main course with lamb as very good. I found all of the other dishes to be at least excellent. Particularly noteworthy in my opinion were the wonderful amuses, an excellent intermediate course with John Dory, a great pre-dessert and the impressive dessert with cherry. Wine: Overall, I really enjoyed the wine pairing. The style, character and origin of the wines were again very varied. All of the wines tasted at least very good, but mostly excellent, and all of the wines went very well with the dishes. This time some wines had characteristics that were new to me - in particular a wine from Patagonia. Presentation: I would still describe the presentation of the dishes and components as very good to excellent. This time I didn't think the color schemes and decorative elements were worth highlighting to the usual extent. The textures were perhaps no longer as elaborately arranged as on the last visit, but I still liked them very well to excellently - several spheres stand out in particular and I would still describe the textures as a strength of the cuisine. The presentation again included a whole series of beautiful “special effects”. These were several simple positioning effects, a simple DIY effect, and two or three simple surprises. Also two or three notable sculptural elements and one or two fake effects. The service intensity of the extensive team at and around the table was very high - however, components at the table were only added or changed in a few cases. I found the introductions and explanations of the dishes to be very good to excellent. The kitchen team, including the head chef, took part in this on several occasions. The team has recently announced and visualized the individual dishes using stylized images and descriptions in postcard format. The pictures remain on a stand at the table. The portion sizes were perfect again this time. The team improved the timing, I thought it was very good now. I thought the presentation of the wines was excellent. All wines were presented with appealing introductions and explanations. Rooms and location: The restaurant is easy to reach by public transport. The location in a supermarket is a great unique selling point. In my opinion, this doesn't detract from the fine dining experience - nor does the fact that the room is in a windowless basement. In my opinion, the ventilation and the noise level were impeccable. The furnishings have been loosened up and I would still describe the style as elegant. Many tables offer an extensive view of the kitchen. The restaurant shares a toilet with the supermarket. Price: In my opinion the food and wine were excellent value for money. In summary, I would say that the case easily met my expectations and in some respects exceeded them. We will definitely visit the restaurant again.

I've been in the typesetting box three times now and am enchanted every time. The food is unbelievably good... My family, friends and I have never eaten such good food. I can recommend it to anyone who wants to experience an absolute pleasure trip. The waiters and chefs do their jobs with such dedication... I would give more than 5 stars for the service and food if I could.

Each bite was an explosion of different flavors. The courses were prepared with a lot of love and perfectionism and there was a detailed explanation for each course in order to understand the intricacies of the dishes. The gourmet experience is not exactly cheap but is still worth it. Approx. 200 euros per person with non-alcoholic drinks.

Insgesamt hatten wir einen tollen Mittagstisch. Ok, ehrlich gesagt ist das natürlich kein Standard im Alltag, aber der halbe Tag frei nehmen hat sich definitiv gelohnt. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder, danke für das Erlebnis Service (5/5): Das Personal wirkte von Minute 1 sehr freundlich, höflich und respektvoll und man hat sich einfach sehr wohl gefühlt. Ganz kleine Kritik: während des Menü musste man dann doch pro-aktiv nach einen weiterem Getränk fragen, aber wirklich "meckern" auf hohem Niveau Location (4/5): Es ist insgesamt warm und modern eingerichtet (nach dem Motto: weniger ist mehr (positiv)), aber alles etwas dunkler. Kleiner Wehrmutstropfen, dass man an einigen Plätzen (bei uns z.B.) direkt in den Feinkostladen guckt. Da gibt es schönere Anblicke, aber dafür konnte man auch die Küche beobachten, was wiederum sehr spannend ist Essen (5/5): Es war wirklich wirklich alles sehr lecker und würden es sofort wieder essen. Das Menü war auch sehr harmonisch in der Reihenfolge. Besonders hervorzuheben: das Ferkel im Apero (hätte auch nur das essen können) und der Schaum bei der Jakobsmuschel.

A magnificent evening. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here last Saturday. A very special day and a very special experience. We didn't even pay that much money for a meal, but it was worth every euro. As a chef and hotel manager, we are both at home in the catering industry and we can only say positive things. All the staff were consistently top notch and even though they've probably gone through the menu sequence 100 times, it always felt authentic and warm-hearted. The head chef and a few colleagues also appeared while serving and were able to convey how much they enjoyed their work. The food was a pure culinary delight, we found it difficult to keep ourselves from licking the plates ;) Dear set box team, thank you very much! We will remember this evening for a very long time. Dear management, treat this great team to new uniforms so that they don't look like they came from the meat counter ;)

This time we were looked after at the table by Martin and the same compliment as in our first review also applies here, thank you for the lovely evening. The food was very unusual and delicious. We like the ambience, the friendliness and also the open kitchen, where you can see the attention to detail with which the food is prepared. We've been meaning to visit the Setzkasten restaurant for a long time, but somehow we never managed to schedule it. This evening it worked. Our expectations were quite high and they were exceeded. A great atmosphere and every course was simply great. We booked the wine accompaniment and each wine was very unusual and went perfectly with the respective course of the menu. We were looked after by Frank, many thanks to you Frank for the great support and the nice explanations. In general, we find the concept of the Edeka Markt Zurheide in a former Kaufhof building unique and could be a good example of abandoned Galeria buildings in some cities. If you have the chance, you should definitely visit the Setzkasten restaurant

The food was excellent!!! The atmosphere was perfect, the people working there were very friendly and welcoming but we arrived at 18:30 and they finished serving us at 22:30. That was the only bad part about the restaurant. 4 hours was a lot of time. Also they never brought us the second dessert that was on our menu!

My partner and I wanted to treat ourselves to something special and really experience food. We were not disappointed in the setting box, on the contrary - our expectations were far exceeded. One evening before the reserved date, we were asked by phone from the set box whether the reservation was still valid and we were asked to arrive 15 minutes later for lunch. We had a slightly further route from the Soest district, so this was very convenient for us. Luckily we had done some research about the restaurant in advance, otherwise we probably wouldn't have expected it to be in the delicatessen department in the middle of the basement of an Edeka. When we entered the restaurant we were immediately greeted in a very friendly manner and given our jackets and coats. We were brought to our seat and were immediately greeted in a friendly manner by our waitress. The waitress immediately noticed that this was our first visit to a star restaurant and quickly lightened our somewhat tense mood with casual sayings and little jokes. A bottle of water was handed out and careful attention was paid to refilling it as soon as the glass became a little empty. We decided on the drink accompaniment without alcohol, here again a special compliment to the new sous chef Jil Berres, according to the waitress. The drinks went wonderfully and excellently with every single item on the menu and were sometimes even more exciting than the breathtaking dishes. As a starter there were, among other things, small pralines with beetroot and eel, which were not greasy at all and extremely fresh. The chocolates were very surprising and tickled several senses at the same time or one after the other. A really strong start. Warm bread was then served, which was baked with raisins instead of yeast, which according to the waiter was supposed to be more digestible. The bread was served with butter refined with truffles and truffle oil, which was topped with caviar. There was also a delicious oil with tomato essence - we had never experienced such an intense tomato taste. This was followed by several courses of fish and/or seafood, all of which were really excellent. As already mentioned, the drinks accompanied every course wonderfully. The highlight of the menu for us was the main course, US short rib with black and pink fermented pepper and shallots with mushroom cream. I've eaten a lot of meat in my life, including Wagyu beef - but we've never eaten such tender and intense meat before. The meat was permeated with flavorful fatty fibers, which were absolutely pleasant to chew. The shallots with the incorporated mushroom cream went incredibly well with it. The drink was fermented berry juice, which tasted wonderfully with the fermented pepper. Already full, it was time for dessert. This consisted of several parts made from different citrus fruits that we had never heard of before. Everything tasted wonderfully fresh with lime and the individual desserts were beautifully stacked and served on several plates one on top of the other. We paid a total of just over €230 plus tip for the lunch menu for two people including a bottle of water and the non-alcoholic drink accompaniment. For us, this visit, which lasted over 3.5 hours, was absolutely worth it and in our opinion the price-performance ratio was absolutely right. It's probably not the last time we've visited the typesetting box.

I was recently in the typesetting box with my partner and it was simply an experience for us. You immediately forget that the restaurant is in a supermarket when you enter it. The atmosphere is simply fabulous, we felt very comfortable. The food was also just a dream, everything just came together perfectly for us and it looked very good too. You really notice how much thought and effort goes into every drink and every dish. I can only recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a real taste experience, because that's really good here. Thank you to the Setzkasten team for giving my partner and I such a wonderful experience.

Das Menue mit der passenden Weinbegleitung hat uns wieder voll überzeugt. Unser Highlight war die Gelbschwanzmakrele mit Sake als Weinbegleitung. Der Service ist Aufmerksam und freundlich. Es ist möglich einen Blick in die Küche zu werfen und der Küchenchef nimmt sich Zeit für ein paar Worte. Wir haben den nächsten Abend im Setzkasten schon gebucht.

An all-round successful evening, the food was really delicious and there was definitely a “wow effect” in some courses! Wine accompaniment and service were also first class! I think after the renovation in spring/summer the star will definitely be awarded here again!

Went there for lunch and had a really great experience. The service is great, the atmosphere is modern and simple but very cozy. You completely forget that you are actually in the basement of a gourmet Edeka. The food is excellent. Playing with different textures is awesome. The flavors are perfectly balanced and combined. The highlights for me were the short rib in a fabulously intense jus and the creative ways to integrate different citrus fruits into the dessert. I particularly liked the wine accompaniment. You can also find many ingredients and drinks in the supermarket right on your doorstep. The return of the Michelin star would be more than deserved

Super nice atmosphere, very friendly and courteous waiters and a nice selection of dishes.

Absolutely loved the experience here! Of course you pay a certain amount which is quite above average dining, however in return you get an absolutely above average dining experience! The service is outstanding and are really trying to accomodate you in everything you need. I think the bread that is served on the side here deserves an honorable mention: it was served with delicious butter and they made sure you’d never run out through the whole course. If you are looking for a restaurant for a special occasion I think you will have a lovely time here!

The food was really good, great ideas, very well implemented. Personally, I didn't like the dessert that much. But that's a matter of taste. Unfortunately, the service was not convincing at all. We felt uncomfortable. An employee constantly called us our first name. I don't expect that in a place like this. We were regularly forgotten. Courses came without adding plates or cutlery. Other guests who came after us were served before us. Petit Four was forgotten and only brought when asked. There was no indication that the parking ticket would be stamped. We felt more like second-class guests (which we may well be in this restaurant - especially since such restaurant visits are rather the exception, it should be something special). Unfortunately, it was no longer a nice event. A pity!

I had the vegetarian menu and I have to say it was fabulous! I didn't miss anything.

I would also give it 6 stars if I could. We had the menu with wine accompaniment. The meal was delicious. Every course is also excellent for the eye. The wines matched perfectly and our waiter was extremely friendly and very well trained. We will be back.

Eine Kochkunst für die Götter !!

Wow, begeistert, hier werden die Erwartungen wirklich mal übertroffen. Spitze.

Hochwertige und außergewöhnliche Speisen, ein wahres Erlebnis für besondere Anlässe.

Mein Mann hat mich an meinem Geburtstag überrascht und wir waren hier essen. Ich habe mich wirklich selten so wohl gefühlt! Eine offene Küche, die es erlaubt den Künstlern bei der Arbeit zuzuschauen und sich mit Ihnen darüber zu unterhalten. Wir hatten 7 Gänge und eine Flache Wein, die uns empfohlen wurde. An die Vorspeise denke ich auch heute noch zurück! Sie hat meinen Mann und mich umgehauen. Wahnsinnig gebussvoll, perfekt aufeinander abgestimmt, einfach ein Gedicht, wow! Eine Geschmacksexplosion wie man sie nur in Top-Restaurants erlebt. Aber auch die darauf folgenden Gänge waren der Wahnsinn! Der Service war perfekt! So wie es sein soll, in einem solch edlen Restaurant. Wir wurden kompetent beraten, super serviert und umsorgt. Konnten mit allen einen netten und lustigen Austausch führen. Wir selbst kommen aus der Gastronomie und wissen, wie schwierig es sein kann. Vielen Dank für den durch und durch gelungenen Besuch in Ihrem Restaurant! Es war sicher nicht das letzte Mal, eher der Startschuss ein Stammkunde zu werden.

Nach meinem nunmehr zweiten Besuch im Setzkasten, zuletzt vor einem Jahr, hat sich das hohe Niveau der Küche nochmals leicht gesteigert. Die Speisenfolge ist eine kunstvoll arrangierte Geschmacksreise, wie sie ja auch vom Restaurant so bezeichnet wird. Über die Top-Qualität des Essens ist von anderen schon genug geschrieben worden, daher möchte ich mich auf das Drumherum beschränken. Wir saßen am Chefs-Table in der Küche und konnten die Zubereitung der Speisen aus nächster Nähe mitverfolgen. Unglaublich, wie routiniert und stressfrei alle Mitarbeiter ihre Arbeitsschritte ausführen und wie ruhig und respektvoll der Küchenchef mit seinen Mitarbeitern umgeht. Er nahm sich auch viel Zeit, uns alle Gerichte nebst Zutaten ausführlichst zu erklären. Bedingt durch die begrenzte Öffnungszeit des Restaurants bestehen auch keine langen Wartezeiten zwischen den Gängen, was ich sehr schätze. Wenn es hier überhaupt irgendwas zu kritisieren gibt, dann allenfalls, dass die tatsächliche Speisenfolge in einem Fall von der Karte abwich. Auch eine Weinkarte wurde nicht gereicht, wobei das bei der gewählten Weinbegleitung auch nicht nötig war. Und dass in einem Restaurant dieser Kategorie die Portionen klein und die Preise für Mineralwasser hoch sind, ist hinzunehmen. Wir können dieses Lokal nur empfehlen und freuen uns schon den nächsten Besuch.

Wir hatten hier unseren Hochzeitstag verbracht. Tolle Qualität beim Essen und Trinken. Auch beim Service. Das Essen war ein Erlebnis. Wir kommen wieder.

Dieses Etablissement ist eine kulinarische Reise der Extraklasse, die dich den ganzen Abend mit einem herausragendem Service in absoluter Perfektion begleitet. Inklusive der dazu begleiteten Getränke auf Wunsch.

Wij zijn afgelopen weekend gaan eten bij Setzkasten en zijn aangenaam verrast. Bij binnenkomt bleek dat wij de Chef's table hadden. Het was mooi om zo een kijkje in de keuken te krijgen en extra vragen te kunnen stellen aan de chef en keukenbrigade. Het eten was subliem! Mooie, verrassende smaken, goede porties en heerlijke wijnbegeleiding. Wij gaan geregeld uit eten bij goede (sterren)restaurants, maar dit was nog een stapje verder. Ook complimenten aan de bediening! Slavo was heel attent en gastvrij. We kijken ernaar uit om in de zomer weer terug te komen!

Geweldig. Een prachtige reis in een bijzondere ambiance. De gerechten zijn verfijnd en deze prikkelen de zintuigen. Erg goed.

Wir hatten gestern einen wunderschönen Abend im Setzkasten in Düsseldorf. Chefkoch Egor Hopp und sein gesamtes Team im Service und in der Küche haben uns 4,5 Stunden am Chef‘s Table verwöhnt. Vom Apero über die verschiedenen Gänge bis zum extrem zuvorkommenden und unaufgeregtem Service war alles perfekt. Die gesamte Küche nahm sich viel Zeit, die einzelnen Gänge zu servieren und zu beschreiben. Die einzelnen Teller waren perfekt abgestimmt: Jede Zutat war perfekt herausgearbeitet und auch in der Kombination sehr gut aufeinander abgestimmt. Säure, Süße und Schärfe waren grandios > Umami pur. Bitte weiter so.

Wir waren zum Lunch inklusive Weinbegleitung dort. Zugegeben war es die erste kulinarische Erfahrung in dieser Liga, wir haben aber durchwegs positive Erfahrungen gemacht und waren von dem Service sowie dem Essen begeistert.

Eine super Location, in besonderer Umgebung, mit außergewöhnlich emphatischem und fachkundigem Personal. Die Küche ist sensationell und trägt ihren Stern zurecht.

Wie immer, hatten wir einen perfekten kulinarischen Abend. Es war ein absoluter Genuss.

Appetisers we’re pretty good then it went downhill with mains. Did not serve the petit fours. Pretty understaffed for a Michelin 1 star restaurant and low attention to details. Stated allergies in the online reservations and they didn’t take note of this till I reminded them. They did remove the nuts for the first dish then forgotten about it for the later dishes. Did NOT serve the champagne for the wine pairing ! Nor did they offer to take off the amount from the billl. Took 4 hours to serve the few Dishes with a lot of time wasted in between Utterly disappointed

Lower ground atmosphere , 1 star rating instead of 1 Michelin service. Food was too salty/ too sweet . It’s my first time ever not finishing my dish. Only 1 dish was worth eating. Dietary restrictions were not taken seriously eg nut allergy. They got the sparkling water and still water wrong. When given feedback , the waiters just acted blur and ignorant and defensive . After giving the feedback , they chose to not explain their food . To our disappointment , the main chef was not even around . They SO DO NOT deserve a Michelin star.

Ausgezeichnetes Essen mit tollen Variationen und vielen verschiedenen Geschmäckern. Super freundlicher Service und auch die alkoholfreie Getränkebegleitung war top. Klare Empfehlung! Vielen Dank auch nochmal an Martin für dieses tolle Erlebnis und den ausgezeichneten Service!

Vielen Dank für den gestrigen Abend es war richtig geil und das Essen ist mega po*rno. Wir werden öfters kommen freu mich schon riesig auf den nächstes Besuch und hoffentlich wieder am Tisch in der Küche.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 von 5 Sternen! Und dass völlig gerechtfertigt! Das beste Restaurant in dem wir jemals essen waren. Angefangen bei dem absoluten tollem Personal. Jeder Wunsch wurde einem sofort erfüllt und ich behaupte zu sagen sie lesen einem jedem Wunsch von den Lippen ab!! Weitergemacht bei dem hervorragenden Essen....es war ein Erlebnis! Jeder Gang wurde an Tisch genau erklärt und jede Zutat auf der Zunge gespürt! Wir hatten keine Weinbegleitung aber dafür einen Wein der uns empfohlen wurde vom Service. Der Wein war sehr sehr lecker und hat zu jedem Gericht genau gepasst. Nach jedem Toilettengang wurde einem an den Tisch ein Tuch zum erfrischen gelegt. Es war ein durchaus gelungener Abend den wir niemals vergessen werden und es war jeden Cent wert! Das Menü kostete 129€ pro Person und war daher im oberen Bereich, aber wie in meiner Rezension zu lesen war es das wert. Danke für das tolle Erlebnis, wir werden bei unserem nächsten Besuch wieder vorbei kommen.

Es ist schon originell, dass man in einem "Supermarkt" in ein Restaurant geht. Wenn man dann am Platz sitzt, merkt man davon gar nichts mehr. Rundum ist es ein gelungenes Erlebnis, hier zu speisen. Das Essen an sich ist schon großartig und außerordentlich ansprechend angerichtet, aber das würde zunichte gemacht, wenn nicht auch der Service stimmte. Hier lebt der Service die Leidenschaft mit jeder Pore: Höflichkeit, Witz, Charme und das Fachwissen zu den einzelnen Produkten runden das grandiose Essen ab. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen sicher wieder.

Das Erlebnis! Also, wo soll man da anfangen, ja, man geht hin, um zu essen, aber das Essen tritt irgendwie in den Hintergrund und das Erlebnis steht im Vordergrund! Klar isst man da, aber es ist nicht nur Essen, es ist wirklich ein Erlebnis, ich musste noch nie so oft lächeln, wenn ich Essen im Mund hatte. Einfach unglaublich, jeder Löffel oder jede Gabel war ein Genuss und eine Überraschung! Natürlich ist es nicht billig, aber wer wirklich erleben will, was man aus "Essen" alles machen kann, ist hier absolut richtig. Werde auf jeden Fall wiederkommen! Der Service war hervorragend, sehr zuvorkommend, nett, jeder Teller wurde genau erklärt und der Küchenchef hat uns auch einen kleinen Besuch abgestattet. Wir sind überwältigt und freuen uns auf den nächsten Besuch! The experience! So, where to start, yes, you go there to eat, but the food somehow takes a back seat and the experience is the focus! Sure you eat there, but it's not just food, it's really an experience, I've never had to smile so often when I had food in my mouth. Just amazing, every spoon or fork was a delight and a surprise! Of course it's not cheap, but if you really want to experience what you can do with "food", this is absolutely the right place. Will definitely come back again! The service was excellent, very courteous, nice, each plate was explained in detail and the chef also paid us a little visit. We are overwhelmed and look forward to the next visit!

Hervorragendes Essen und ein sehr sympathisches Team!

We had an absolutely wonderful meal here at Setzkasten for our anniversary! The degustation was well planned and executed in terms of flavour, technique and inventiveness. And the varying textures in each dish were so satisfying. Two of the dishes were a tad too salty for my liking, but still so enjoyable and were quickly balanced by the following dishes. Service slowed down a little at the end, but we weren't so bothered by that. Our server Frank was so lovely, professional and thoughtful! Thanks to him and the rest of the team at Setzkasten we had a beautiful time! Perfect for date nights and special occasions. P.S. The snacks are to die for!
