Haus Stemberg in Velbert

Das Essen war anstandslos fantastisch. Der Service war unglaublich herzlich und professionell. Wir haben uns mehr als nur wunschlos umsorgt gefühlt. Besonders hervorzuheben ist, dass ich schwanger zu Gast war und auf alle Aspekte die das mit sich bringt besonders eingegangen wurde. Nochmal vielen lieben Dank für diesen tollen Abend.

Mittag spontan via Email gefragt ob abends noch ein Tisch frei wäre. Anruf bekommen es sei noch einer auf der Terrasse frei. Direkt reserviert. Ankunft war super. Im Lokal gesagt das ich reserviert habe und wurde von der "Chefin" (gehe ich von aus) zu meinem Tisch gebracht. Ich habe mich für das 6 Gang Menü entschieden mit Weinbegleitung. Der Service und das folgende Essen war grandios. Es wurde alles erklärt bezüglich Essen und Wein. Des öfteren kam der Senior Chef des öfteren vorbei und gefragt ob alles bestens sei. Auch das Personal war bestens bemüht einem einen tollen entspannten Abend zu gewähren. Alles in allem, absolute Empfehlung wenn man auf Fine Dining steht. Dies war auf jeden Fall nicht der letzte Besuch.

Ein Michelin-Stern-Restaurant ohne die übliche Michelin-Allüren. Einfach hervorragendes Essen in entspannter und einladender Atmosphäre. Die Ochsenbäckchen waren unglaublich zart, und das klassische Gericht mit Birnen, Bohnen und Speck war schlichtweg unvergesslich. Das Gurkensorbet war ein absoluter Traum – unglaublich frisch, zart-süß und voller Geschmack, überraschend erfrischend und zugleich belebend. Der Schokoladenpudding war so gut, dass ich darin hätte baden können. Jeder Teller war perfekt ausbalanciert und voller Geschmack. Ja, es ist teurer als ein durchschnittliches Restaurant, aber im Vergleich zu anderen Michelin-Sterne-Restaurants erscheint der Preis für die gebotene Qualität überraschend angemessen. Der Service war aufrichtig freundlich und aufmerksam, ohne aufdringlich zu sein, was das gesamte Erlebnis noch schöner machte. Meine Frau kam an Krücken, und ohne dass wir darum bitten mussten, wurde unser Tisch sofort gegen einen barrierefreieren ausgetauscht, was wir sehr zu schätzen wussten. Der Inhaber begrüßte uns persönlich, und auch seine Eltern waren anwesend, was deutlich zeigte, wie viel Herzblut in diesem Familienbetrieb steckt. Zusammen mit der herzlichen Atmosphäre war dies eines jener Essen, an die man noch lange nach dem Essen denkt. Vielen Dank an alle für einen unvergesslichen Abend. Auf jeden Fall einen erneuten Besuch wert, aber eine Reservierung ist unbedingt empfehlenswert.

Was soll man viele Worte verlieren: Es war wieder ein sehr großes Vergnügen. Menü und Service wie immer hervoragend, wir hatten viel Spaß daran.

Tolles Traditionsrestsurant mit sehr guter Küche und nettem Service. Es war alles stimmig.

Gestern hatte ich dort ein tolles Abendessen. Das Essen war sehr gut, vielleicht hätten die Garnelen etwas raffinierter zubereitet sein können. Sie waren durchschnittlich. Aber der Rest war hervorragend. Ich habe nur eine dringende Empfehlung: Ergänzen Sie Ihre Weinkarte um Naturweine. 😜 Die Weinprobe war nicht schlecht, aber teilweise etwas langweilig und enthielt zu viele Sulfite. Trotzdem vielen Dank für den schönen Abend! 😍

Wir waren dort mit der Familie in der Vorkarwoche essen. Das Restaurant ist ein wenig abgelegen. Der Weg lohnt sich aber. ich hatte das Degustationsmenü mit Fisch. Auf unsere Wünsche (es war auch vegan gewünscht) wurde sehr flexibel mit Kreativität reagiert. Überhaupt war alles stimmig und lecker. Der Gruß aus der Küche und die Zwischengänge standen den übrigen Gängen in nichts nach. Vielen Dank !

Wir haben das 4-Gang-Menü im Haus Stemberg gegessen – jeder Gang war unfassbar gut und perfekt aufeinander abgestimmt! Der Service war ebenfalls sehr gut und aufmerksam. Rundum waren wir positiv überrascht und kommen gerne wieder!

Wir hatten einen rundum fantastischen Aufenthalt im Haus Stemberg! Der Service war erstklassig aufmerksam, herzlich und absolut professionell. Man fühlt sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen und bestens betreut. Die Weinauswahl ist hervorragend und lässt wirklich keine Wünsche offen. Hier findet jeder den perfekten Begleiter zum Essen. Apropos Essen: einfach sensationell! Hier versteht man sein Handwerk noch wirklich und das merkt man bei jedem einzelnen Gericht. Besonders beeindruckend ist, dass die Chefs hier noch persönlich kochen das verleiht dem Ganzen eine ganz besondere Qualität und Authentizität. Auch die Sitzmöglichkeiten sind sehr angenehm gestaltet, sodass man den Aufenthalt in entspannter Atmosphäre genießen kann. Die Parkmöglichkeiten sind ebenfalls top bequem und unkompliziert. Es fehlt hier wirklich an nichts! Ein kleiner Geheimtipp zum Schluss: Unbedingt im hauseigenen Genuss-Shop vorbeischauen. Dort gibt es tolle, selbstgemachte Spezialitäten, die sich perfekt als Mitbringsel oder zum Selbstgenießen eignen. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Vorab: Wir besuchen regelmäßig Sternerestaurants (mindestens sechs Mal pro Jahr) und verfügen daher über entsprechende Vergleichswerte. Atmosphäre: Wer einen ruhigen und entspannten Abend in einem Sternerestaurant erwartet, könnte hier enttäuscht werden. Parallel zum Degustationsmenü wird ein regulärer Restaurantbetrieb geführt, was zu einer spürbar lebhafteren, teilweise hektischen Atmosphäre führt. Für Gäste, die mehr Ruhe und Exklusivität suchen, ist beispielsweise das „La Vie by Thomas Bühner“ in Düsseldorf die passendere Wahl. Essen: Die Küche bewegt sich insgesamt auf dem erwarteten Niveau eines 1-Sterne-Restaurants. Das vorab gereichte Brot konnte jedoch nicht überzeugen – sowohl in Qualität als auch Präsentation (Servieren in einer Bäckertüte) bleibt dies deutlich hinter dem Anspruch des Hauses zurück. Das Dessert stellte aus unserer Sicht den schwächsten Gang dar. Service: Der Service wirkte insbesondere zu Beginn hektisch. Brot und Butter wurden wenig aufmerksam serviert, eher beiläufig platziert. Die drei Amuse-Bouches wurden zwar erläutert, jedoch ohne Empfehlung zur optimalen Reihenfolge. Zudem fiel auf, dass die zuständige Servicekraft im Bereich Wein wenig kompetent wirkte; eine fundierte Weinberatung oder die Präsenz eines Sommeliers waren nicht erkennbar.l

Wir waren heute erneut im Haus Stromberg in Velbert – und wie jedes Mal war es ein ganz besonderes Erlebnis. Für uns fühlt es sich mittlerweile fast wie ein „Nach Hause kommen“ an. Diesmal hatten wir auch zum ersten Mal unsere Eltern dabei, und ihr Feedback war ebenso begeistert wie unseres. Das gesamte Team rund um Sascha Stemberg schafft es immer wieder, auf höchstem Niveau zu begeistern – mit außergewöhnlicher Küche, viel Liebe zum Detail und einem Service, der seinesgleichen sucht. Ja, das Preisniveau ist etwas höher, aber man bekommt dafür ein kulinarisches Erlebnis, das wirklich besonders ist und in Erinnerung bleibt. Für uns jeden Besuch absolut wert. Wir freuen uns jetzt schon auf unseren nächsten Besuch im Juni! … und danke fürs signierte Buch 😊

Wow, Haus Stemberg ist schon ein Erlebnis. Beste Küche, bestes Personal alle super freundlich, sehr bemüht und das Essen und auch die Kleinigkeiten drumherum, die immer noch mal an den Tisch kamen waren alle hervorragend. Ich hatte kürzlich das Vergnügen, dieses Michelin-Sterne-Restaurant zu besuchen, und es war eine rundum beeindruckende Erfahrung. Schon beim Betreten fiel die stilvolle und geschmackvolle Einrichtung auf – das Ambiente ist elegant, aber gleichzeitig angenehm und einladend. Das Essen war hervorragend: Jeder Gang war perfekt abgestimmt, kreativ angerichtet und geschmacklich auf höchstem Niveau. Man merkt sofort die Liebe zum Detail und die Qualität der Zutaten. Besonders hervorzuheben ist auch die Atmosphäre. Trotz des gehobenen Niveaus wirkt alles entspannt und nicht steif, was den Abend sehr angenehm gemacht hat. Der Service war aufmerksam, freundlich und professionell, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Insgesamt ein exzellentes Erlebnis, das ich jederzeit weiterempfehlen kann – ideal für besondere Anlässe oder einfach, um sich selbst etwas Besonderes zu gönnen.

Am 15. März haben wir anlässlich der ProWein unseren Kundenabend vom Weingut Brogsitter beim Haus Stemberg gehabt! Es war ein sehr schöner Abend in einem tollen Ambiente! Wir wurden kulinarisch verwöhnt und der Service war perfekt! Vielen Dank für den schönen Abend an Sascha und sein gesamtes Team für diesen gelungenen Abend.

Essen und Service super. Sehr aufmerksames Team und ohne Ausnahme super freundlich. Da es sehr voll war, war es leider ziemlich laut.

Sehr geehrter Herr Stemberg, vorab möchten wir uns für die kulinarische Reise bei Ihnen recht herzlich bedanken. Unsere Gäste waren von dem Menü sehr sehr begeistert! Leider war die Anreise zu Ihnen für einige nicht ganz reibungslos und hat aufgrund von Verzögerung beim Standesamt sicherlich auch einen gewissen zeitlichen Stress ausgelöst, den wir beim Eintreffen von Ihnen gespürt haben. An dieser Stelle hätten wir uns mehr Flexibilität ihrerseits gewünscht. Seien Sie bitte über folgende Kritik nachsichtig. Am 23.02. haben wir Sie telefonisch gebeten, einen Stehtisch vor Kopf aufzustellen. Beim Eintreffen bei Ihnen war dieser nicht vorhanden, worauf wir dann bei Ihrem Mitarbeiter einen Stuhl geordert haben. Während dem Aufenthalt bei Ihnen haben wir auch zur Kenntnis genommen, dass Sie für andere Gäste Zeit für eine Unterhaltung hatten. Wir hätten uns auch über eine persönliche Begrüßung von Ihnen gefreut. Über die Qualität der Gerichte gibt es keinen Zweifel, aber bei der Wertschätzung Ihres Hause gegenüber unseren Hochzeitsgästen war noch Luft nach oben. Die Zeiten, wo man einfach abends mal vorbei gehen konnte und noch ein Tisch frei war, sind schon drei/vier Jahrzehnte vorbei. Nicht schlimm - es dauert nicht ewig bis zum nächsten freien Termin. Und das Warten lohnt sich immer. Ein Restaurant, bei dem der Übergang im Generationswechsel perfekt gelungen ist. Es ist immer noch dieselbe familiäre Atmosphäre. Obwohl sich über die Zeit viel getan hat, um im Ambiente und im Angebot mit der Zeit zu gehen. Und auch das ist gelungen.

Eine Bank. Wir hatten Houston, London, Zürich, Wien und Velbert am Tisch. Was soll ich sagen, alle waren vollends begeistert. Vielen Dank an die Familie Stemberg und das Team. Auf bald!

Einfach nur klasse, Herzlicher Gastgeber und sensationell Küche von Sascha Walter ist der Gastrolegende weit und breit. Vielen Dank für den großartigen Abend. Es war wunderbar

Schmutzige Toiletten, als ich diskret darauf aufmerksam gemacht habe wurde ich laut vom Wirt am Tisch zurechtgewiesen. Als wir keine Vorspeise bestellt haben, wurde dieses mit einem " keine Vorspeisen?, OK?" vom Kellner kommentiert Als das Essen gebracht wurde, bekamen wir 2 Scheiben Serviettenknödel ( kalt) mit den Worten " das müssen sie sich teilen " Der Rotkohl war unter dem Fleisch versteckt, maximal 1 EL. Das Dessert bestand aus einer halben Kugel Eis. Selbst als wir darum gebeten haben die Rechnung zu teilen, wurde dieses vom Kellner laut im Raum verkündet, so dass die anderen Gäste deses mit bekamen. Vermutlich waren wir für dieses exquisite Lokal nicht das passende Klientel. Ich war froh, als wir wieder draußen waren. Eigentlich sollte dieses ein schöner Tag für uns werden. Mein Vater hatte Geburtstag.

Der Besuch im Haus Stemberg war von der ersten bis zur letzten Sekunde perfekt. Die kreative Handschrift der Küche ist in jedem Gang spürbar. Wer eine Küche sucht, die überrascht und begeistert, ist hier genau richtig. Man merkt sofort, dass hier nur mit Produkten höchster Güte gearbeitet wird. Neben der überragenden kulinarischen Qualität hat uns vor allem der Service begeistert. Wir haben uns selten so willkommen gefühlt. Das Haus Stemberg schafft es, eine entspannte Atmosphäre zu kreieren, ohne den Anspruch an absolute Spitzenklasse zu verlieren. Ein Abend, der lange in Erinnerung bleiben wird. Absolut sternwürdig! Wir bedanken uns herzlich für den tollen Abend und den herausragenden Service.

Gutes Essen zu gehobenen Preisen. Der Service ist auf hohem Niveau, hat aber abgenommen. Die Anrichtung ist für die Klasse an Restaurant zum Teil recht einfach. Ein Besuch ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Ein wunderbarer Abend ! Von der Begrüßung bis zum Abschied Freundlichkeit pur, aufmerksamer netter Service und hervorragendes Essen. Im Zuge unseres Besuch hatten wir die Chance das Soul Food Menu zu bestellen, welches im Haus Stemberg nur im Januar 2026 zur Auswahl steht (kleiner Auszug zu dem Thema Soulfood: 12 Monate Spitzenküche. 12× pures Seelenfutter. Die Soulfood Selection holt Spitzenküche dorthin, wo Gäste sie sonst selten erleben: in die Welt der Lieblingsgerichte) Lieblingsgerichte waren es auch! Top gekocht, zum Teil außergewöhnlich und super lecker. Danke für den schönen Abend and gesamte Team. Wir kommen wieder.

Unser Besuch begann leider mit einem sehr unangenehmen Eindruck. Beim Betreten des Restaurants wurden wir vom Chef persönlich mit den Worten „Wie kann ich Ihnen helfen?“ begrüßt – allerdings in einem Tonfall und einer Betonung, die deutlich abwertend wirkten, nach dem Motto, was wir dort überhaupt zu suchen hätten. Erst nachdem wir gesagt haben, dass wir reserviert hatten, wurden wir kommentarlos zu unserem Tisch geführt. Der Service an sich war anschließend gut, daran gibt es nichts auszusetzen. Allerdings war es im Restaurant sehr laut, da sich in einem angrenzenden Raum eine größere Gesellschaft befand und die Schiebetüren nicht geschlossen wurden. Eine entspannte Atmosphäre kam dadurch leider nicht auf. Das Essen war durchwachsen: Vorspeise und Nachtisch waren sehr lecker und qualitativ überzeugend. Der Hauptgang hingegen war enttäuschend. Das Schnitzel bestand gefühlt fast nur aus Panade und war absolut nicht zu empfehlen – für den Preis hatten wir deutlich mehr erwartet. Sehr negativ aufgefallen ist uns außerdem, dass der Chef während unseres Aufenthalts nahezu jeden Tisch mehrfach besucht, Gespräche geführt und nach dem Geschmack gefragt hat. Unser Tisch wurde dabei komplett gemieden – kein Nachfragen, kein Gruß, nicht einmal ein Blick. Das hinterließ ein sehr unangenehmes Gefühl. Insgesamt stimmt für uns das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis nicht. Aufgrund des unfreundlichen Empfangs, der Lautstärke und des enttäuschenden Hauptgangs würden wir das Restaurant für dieses Geld nicht noch einmal besuchen.

Das Essen war Klasse und unglaublich erlebnisreich. Von A bis Z war alles perfekt und zum Geburtstag war sogar etwas Deko am Tisch. Was aber absolut alles übertroffen hat, war das gesamte Team. Chef und Koch kommen persönlich zur Begrüßung, danke für die Zeit. Das gesamte Team ist Gold wert und macht einen Unterschied. Servicepersonal von jung bis erfahren ist top geschult, aufmerksam und sehr auf Zack. Bessere Mitarbeiter kann man garnicht haben, ganz ganz dickes Lob!

Wir hatten das Glück, ohne Bestellung Gans serviert zu bekommen. Dies war meine erste Gans, welche nicht trocken, sondern schlicht eine wahre Gaumenfreude war. Das Essen ist generell von hervorragender Qualität, die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Alles in allem war es ein sehr schöner Abend in einem Top-Restaurant.

Großartiges Restaurant. Wir hatten das Degustationsmenü und waren sehr begeistert. Der Service ist Weltklasse. Wir können das Haus Stemberg uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. Danke für diesen wunderbaren Nachmittag. Ganz liebe Grüße aus Köln !!!

We usually only go to restaurants these days if 1) the cuisine surpasses our expectations (due to its exotic nature) or 2) our skills (due to its craftsmanship and creativity). Neither of these things is necessarily guaranteed here. There aren't really any major criticisms; the food is good to excellent, and the service is incredibly friendly and attentive, but anyone looking for a culinary surprise might be in the wrong place. It's also become too expensive.

Truly an outstanding experience every single time.

We ate here as a family with two children and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food was outstanding and the service was excellent. Easy and very welcoming for families with children.

Sascha Stemberg's incredible hospitality makes every visit truly special. The culinary experience was a dream: we chose the 6-course tasting menu. Every plate was a work of art, and every course was an absolute delight. You can immediately tell that every single member of Stemberg's kitchen team perfectly understands their craft, and the attention to detail is palpable and delicious. Delicious food and excellent service. You feel completely at ease.

We were treated to a complimentary four-course meal with paired wines and were absolutely delighted. The service was outstanding, very friendly and attentive, but not intrusive. The food was a feast for the eyes and the palate. Everything was perfect and it was a wonderful experience. We will certainly visit "Haus Stemberg" again.

The restaurant owner was incredibly kind — as soon as we sat down, we were served a variety of complimentary appetisers to taste, and every single one was excellent. We ordered several main courses, all beautifully presented and delicious, and then went on to try multiple desserts, which were equally outstanding! The waitstaff provided excellent service with warm smiles, making us feel completely comfortable. This is definitely a restaurant worth recommending!

Great restaurant. It's rustically decorated and very cozy. I loved it! The staff is very attentive and friendly. The food was fantastic. I had the Cordon Bleu, which was so tender. Beforehand, there was a welcome from the kitchen: the most delicious bread with salted butter. Then there was a mushroom soup, fantastic! All in all, it was truly worth it.

My husband and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary at Haus Stemberg, and we enjoyed a wonderful evening with excellent food and warm service! You can feel the hospitality of Sascha Stemberg and his entire team, and you simply feel at home in this wonderful atmosphere! Perfect as expected We celebrated our good placings at the Rotary World Championships (hence the photo - 3rd and 1st place!). Since the awards ceremony and the ceremony were a bit sparse in Geneva, we treated ourselves to an evening at Stemberg's. We were not disappointed. The food was of the highest quality, and we received truly attentive service. The menu was truly creative and, in addition to the courses we ordered, included a few surprises. Of course, a chat with the host was a must. We always enjoy coming back.

My grandmother was a passionate cook and restaurateur in this key region. I would have loved to have had her by my side. I know this visit would have meant so much to her, both culinary and personal. All the courses were excellent and left a lasting impression. If you can still remember a taste a few days after the visit, it must have left a lasting, positive impression on your taste buds. The hosts and the service were absolutely outstanding. Warm, welcoming, no wish went unfulfilled, even the fact that we were the only ones who wanted to dine outside. It was a visit that we will treasure for a long time and makes us look forward to the next one. Thank you so much for this wonderful visit!

Solid, but unfortunately without surprises The four of us were there for Sunday lunch and enjoyed the tasting menu. The chef's special was fine. The lobster lacked finesse in my opinion. On the other hand, the cod with eel and a lovely smoky aroma was convincing. The apricot sorbet was bland – just a scoop in a glass (last week I was able to enjoy such a surprise elsewhere: cucumber sorbet with gin gel, fig leaf oil, and meringue). The main course of chicken was classic French – stuffed, I've eaten it 50 times before… the wine list is very good. The service was always attentive and passionate! We were asked to try the Grünhaus Riesling we ordered, even though it was immediately clear that the wine was extremely corked. Ambience? Gloomy! And not really there.

An excellent restaurant. Six strong courses on the tasting menu. The dishes were delicious, beautifully presented, and of very high quality. The extensive wine tour was also impressive. The service was always attentive, courteous, and friendly. We spent a very pleasant evening at Haus Stemberg.

Unser erster und bestimmt nicht letzter Besuch bei dem ganzen Team Stemberg. So ein außerordentlich netter Service und dazu ein verdammt gutes Essen in jeder Hinsicht. Wir haben die Karte in alle Richtungen ausprobiert mit 5 Personen mit unterschiedlichsten Geschmäckern. Alle begeistert! Dazu noch die spontane Möglichkeit, auf die Terrasse zu wechseln ohne Probleme. So macht ein Familienessen Spaß und Freude. - Danke

I had dinner there with a friend last March. We didn't commit to anything but gave the kitchen complete freedom with our menu, and we were absolutely thrilled. Everything was spot-on, lovingly prepared, delicious, and the attentive service from the entire Stemberg team made it an unforgettable evening! We went home full and absolutely thrilled after a varied menu! Many thanks to Haus Stemberg for that! :)

Ich war im vergangenen März dort in Begleitung zu Abend essen. Wir haben uns nicht festgelegt sondern haben der Küche in unseren Gänge Menü absolute Freiheit gelassen und waren hellauf begeistert. Alles war auf dem Punkt, liebevoll angerichtet, geschmacklich ausgezeichnet und der aufmerksame Service des gesamten Stemberg-Teams hat es zu einem unvergesslichen Abend gemacht! Es ging satt und absolut begeistert für uns nach einem abwechslungsreichen Menü nach Hause! Vielen Dank dafür an das Haus Stemberg! :)

Wir waren hier zum Abendessen. Der Empfang war sehr freundlich, das Restaurant hat ein sehr schönes Ambiente. Das Menü war sehr harmonisch zusammengestellt, das Eingehen auf persönliche Vorlieben unaufgeregt und zuvorkommend. Die verschiedenen Gänge waren sehr schmackhaft und auch optisch ein Vergnügen. Die Weinbegleitung war sehr passend ausgesucht. Die Bedienungen waren sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Der Preis war zwar nicht unbedingt ein Schnäppchen, aber jeden Cent wert. Wenn man kein großes Menü essen will, findet man aber zu sehr vernünftigen Preisen auch Gerichte à la carte. Es war ein sehr schöner Abend, wir kommen gerne wieder. Durch die Kooperation mit Stüttgens Hotel konnte das kleine Manko, dass man im Haus Stemberg nicht übernachten kann, nahezu vollständig kompensiert werden - aber das ist Jammern auf ganz hohem Niveau.

Wir waren am Samstag mit 5 Personen zum Essen dort, es war alles perfekt 🤩 das Essen 👍👍👍der Service selten haben wir etwas besseres erlebt, einfach perfekt 👏👏👏da wir in Köln wohnen haben wir beschlossen alle 3 Monaten im Hause Stemberg zu speisen. Schade, dass das Restaurant nicht in Köln ist 😌Tisch ist für September schon reserviert.

Wir konnten kurzfristig einen Tisch für 6 an einem Montagabend reservieren. Trotz Montag war das Restaurant sehr gut besucht. Einrichtung rustikal - aber das hochwertige Geschirr und Gläser weisen direkt daraufhin, dass es sich nicht nur um ein Gasthaus handelt. 6 mal das Degustationsmenue zzgl. einiger Ergänzungen bestellt. Kleine Änderungen am Menue waren problemlos möglich. Leider war der Kaviar als Supplement zum Lachs aus - den haben wohl Düsseldorfer am Wochenende aufgegessen. Alle Gänge waren perfekt zubereitet und nicht nur geschmacklich sonder auch optisch ein Highlight. Netter, kompetenter und lockerer Service. Auch Herr Sascha Stemberg war oft präsent im Gastraum und verbreitete gute Laune ohne den Grüßaugust zu spielen. Wird wiederholt.

Solid cuisine with warm service. The rustic charm of the house is reflected in the cuisine. The relaxed and very pleasant service, as well as its flexibility, are unparalleled: We were able to easily swap between set menu and à la carte dishes, modify something, or omit something. The value for money is excellent! About the menu: The redfish with fine pearl barley was excellently seasoned and cooked to perfection – a real highlight. The asparagus cream and leek soups, on the other hand, were quite creamy and could have used a bit more subtle seasoning. The champagne lobster soup – the actual reason for our visit – unfortunately fell short of expectations and couldn't compete with the much more elegant version at Nöthel. The juice journey is a real alternative to the classic wine pairing. Very nice selection! It was a lovely visit with plenty of warmth and solid, handcrafted cuisine. Anyone who knows the Balthasar in Paderborn will be reminded of its solid foundation – even if one would wish for a little more refinement here and there.

Eigentlich wollten wir uns mit einem Freund treffen. Es ist nicht ganz nah bei uns. Meine Frau war sehr skeptisch. Aber man kommt rein, alle sind sehr herzlich. Tolle Getränke, tolles Menü. Weine zu fairen Preisen, was für alle Getränke gilt. Man sieht allen die Freude an, auch den Gästen. Tolles essen, das einfach Spaß macht. Wir haben den Abend sehr genossen.

Für uns ist das Haus Stemberg unser absolutes Lieblings Restaurant. Hier passt einfach immer alles Toller Service, super leckere Speisen und absolut herzliche Gastgeber. Ein Ort wo man sich einfach nur wohlfühlen kann. Danke für die tollen Stunden in immer gleich bleibender Qualität

The young team welcomed and served us very friendly. Unfortunately we then had an older waiter. He mistook us for soldiers. We felt like we were in the barracks yard. Orders were taken in a commanding tone. Example: When my husband asked me which vegetables would be served, his answer was: it's on the menu. We pointed out that it wasn't on the map. No excuse. He disappeared into the kitchen and then reluctantly aired out the assortment of vegetables. He created a very stiff atmosphere. The dessert was very good. The Wiener Schnitzel was average, the accompanying potato salad was below average. I couldn't taste the star.

A visit to Stemmi is always like a little vacation. Nice people, great service and a kitchen that catapults you into the weekend for 2-3 hours.

Waren zum ersten Mal dort. Eine Reise wert - ein Haus mit Geschichte und tollen Menschen. Wir haben uns etwas durch die Karte probiert - das Essen war hervorragend. Die Weinkarte ist gross und sehr fair kalkuliert! Kein Hotel dabei - man arbeitet aber mit dem Hotel Stüttgens in Velbert zusammen. Der Eigentümer hat uns sogar zum Essen gefahren. Wir kommen wieder.

The tasting menu with wine accompaniment was excellent!

We had dinner there with 3 people on Monday, February 17th, 2025 for my mother's birthday party. When it comes to the ambience, you can say that from the moment you come in you are in a warm living room. The wooden paneling, lamps with warm light and small decorations are very inviting. The chairs were very comfortable and the table had soundproofing underneath, so it was quiet throughout the entire stay and you could easily have a conversation even in a fuller restaurant. The very attentive service was always quick, very friendly and informative. Without asking, the table was decorated a little for the birthday child and a small dessert was served on the house for dessert. All courses of the meal, including the greetings from the kitchen, were prepared and served with love and skill. Everything tasted fresh. As an additional point, I would like to mention that it is a place that you don't pass by often because it is a bit more expensive, but the point here is not to fill your stomach cheaply like at the snack bar, but rather to have a nice and tasty meal. For me, after more than 20 years, it's 1 of 3 restaurants in this class that understand gastronomy and don't just heat up frozen food and slap it on your plate at overpriced prices. We'd love to come back!

Dear Sascha and Walter Stemberg, you gave me an unforgettable birthday today. A Saturday lunch with so many small, unexpected and great touches. The service is absolutely outstanding. The BEST thing I've had the pleasure of experiencing in recent years. What should you say about food? 12/10 ;) incredibly fresh and delicious. Very few people get there. Also the little attention for my 3 fellow participants when there was still an intermediate course so that they didn't have to “watch”. Like many things: unexpected and magnificent. I could agree with the previous reviewers in many areas: One of the best restaurants and hosts in Germany. We have the greatest respect for visiting the restaurant for the first time (and certainly not the last time). Anyone who demonstrates such good taste with the wine list...

Lieber Sascha und Walter Stemberg, ihr habt mir einen unvergesslichen Geburtstag heute bereitet. Ein Samstagmittag mit so vielen kleinen unerwarteten & grandiosen Aufmerksamkeiten. Der Service ist absolut herausragend. Das BESTE was ich in den letzten Jahren erleben durfte. Was soll man zum Essen sagen? 12/10 ;) unfassbar frisch und lecker. Da kommen ganz wenige ran. Auch die kleine Aufmerksamkeit für meine 3 Mitstreiter, als es noch einen Zwischengang gab, damit sie nicht „zusehen“ müssen. Wie vieles: unerwartet und grandios. Ich könnte mich in vielen Bereichen den Vorbewertern anschließen: Eins der besten Restaurants und Gastgeber in Deutschland. Dafür, dass wir das erste Mal das Restaurant besucht haben (und mit Sicherheit nicht das letzte Mal) aller größten Respekt. Wer so einen guten Geschmack auch mit der Weinkarte beweist.....

Etwas weniger Chichi als in manchen anderen Sternerestaurants üblich, unprätentiös präsentiert und einwandfrei in Qualität und Service. Die Beilagen zu den Hauptgerichten hätten wir uns vielleicht etwas phantasievoller gewünscht, aber das ist Kritik auf hohem Niveau.

The food was great and the staff was very friendly. We will come again.

We were there for lunch. The dishes are simple but tasty. Special feature: Compared to beef steak, I warmly recommend the pork dish, I have never had such tender pork meat in my life. The fat is very impressive, it has a good aroma and tastes “pleasant”. You don't feel like it's fat, but like a piece of cake. Really impressive. The decor in the restaurant is idyllic but upscale at the same time. You feel good. The service is courteous and they also speak English.

My absolute FAVORITE RESTAURANT. The skilful mix of home-style tavern cuisine at the highest level and top-tier fine dining meets my taste exactly. The food is simply unsurpassedly good and exactly my taste down to the last detail. But eating isn't everything, a restaurant also thrives on service. Haus Stemberg is an owner-managed restaurant where the whole family takes care of their well-being. And it works just as well as the food. You just feel completely comfortable and I love that. Thank you for many wonderful experiences in your restaurant. I love Haus Stemberg & Family.

We can only recommend this restaurant. It's worth a ride from the city to the rural region of Velbert. From the welcome to the farewell of the senior partners, it was once again an all-round successful day. The service is very courteous and attentive. The food was amazing, beautifully decorated/presented and extremely tasty. Thank you!

Sunday lunch at Haus Stemberg - in addition to the wonderful courses, the service was also completely convincing! The option to put together a menu a la carte or choose a tasting menu is the perfect mix for us. The service is extremely attentive, the ambience of the country inn is cozy and chic and the personal advice from the senior chef, a real kitchen legend, was of course the icing on the cake :)

Haus Stemberg offers fine cuisine - and the finest! The food is fresh, interesting and creative. Plus it’s extremely tasty! The employees are always in a good mood, friendly and willing to provide information. The menu is small but very nice. Everything is clean, well-maintained and makes you feel comfortable. Highly recommended for special occasions. But reserve early!!!

We stayed in Haus Stemberg with 4 people. Everyone was very satisfied. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The senior manager personally gave advice on the right wine to accompany the meal. The wine was very good. The food was great...whether it was a starter or a main course...not to mention the dessert. Everything at its best. The price-performance ratio is ok for me...with the friendly and numerous staff and the great quality of the food. I can only recommend Haus Stemberg.

Simply the best. From elegant cuisine to black pudding. Everyone will find something here and getting started with star cuisine is particularly easy here. Great team, great family. We have preferred eating here for years and now always travel from the Eifel.

Haus Stemberg – for us for around 20 years, the first address for outstanding food, fantastic ambience, exceptional hospitality with professional and friendly service, a family that runs with passion and thus a guarantee for long-lasting “quality time” with the partner family, friends or business partners. Sascha and Coren deserve six stars, which unfortunately cannot be awarded. Please don't let the very few "non-5-star reviews" confuse you. My wife and I are big gastro fans...Gastro is, in that sense, our hobby... although my wife learned how to do it many years ago in a two-star hotel. We love our regular Italian restaurant, just like the upscale and star cuisine with a special focus on North Rhine-Westphalia, as well as restaurants on Sylt that we visit dozens of times every year, such as Jörg Müller, Sansibar or Seepferdchen. In this respect, we believe we have a certain level of judgment competence. During our countless visits to Haus Stemberg over the 20 years, there were perhaps 2-3 times “weird” or irritating guests or guest inquiries. For example, the incomprehension of not being able to reserve a table for the coming Saturday in a top restaurant that is sometimes fully booked for months. Fully booked is fully booked. Or a lack of understanding that a restaurant has to close the lunch menu (which fortunately is available on weekends, at the high gastronomic level, where else is that) even after a reasonable grace period, in order to then be able to reopen at 6 p.m. Fortunately, such guests with completely crazy demands and little gratitude for outstanding cooking and service are in the absolute minority. Once you've been to Haus Stemberg, you become a regular guest. At least that's what the fairly large sample in our circle of friends and our perception in the restaurant say. You always see guests that you have noticed before, either just last month or three years ago. If we, our children or our friends had to choose a restaurant - it would always be Haus Stemberg. It's just the uniqueness. The knack for staff selection (and training!), the fantastic a la carte and the regularly changing menus, the authentic hospitality for every type of guest, regardless of whether you prefer Wiener Schnitzel with Füchsen Alt or, like us, like to order menus and great wines. Be sure to get advice from Walter Stemberg, Sascha's dad, when choosing your wine. As a rule, Sascha's parents are in the restaurant with a helping hand and support Sascha and his wife Coren. We are full of gratitude to have been able to spend so many great evenings at Haus Stemberg and especially thank Sascha for his outstanding cooking. Unrestricted recommendation.

I have been a guest at Haus Stemberg with increasing regularity for 20 years. As a young boy, I was able to follow the great culinary development to a certain extent through grandparents and parents on special occasions. Sascha Stemberg and his team have managed to make international cuisine at a star level a constant while maintaining their own identity and origins. For me, Haus Stemberg combines the best of both worlds in a unique way. With the tasting menu you can take a culinary journey in a class of its own. The menu also contains a lot of classic cuisine that I associate with the Bergisches Land. Excitingly interpreted and prepared to an incredible level. Accompanied by beautifully coordinated aperitifs, wines or even juices. For me, as a native of Neviges, a visit to Stembergs always feels like “coming home”. This is mainly because the Stemberg family is a great, authentic and warm host. Being greeted at the entrance by both generations immediately gives me a feeling of appreciation and comfort. The staff is in no way inferior. It's always the same faces I meet, with some new additions. Always friendly and very attentive. The overall impression is rounded off by the great ambience, which for me reflects the kitchen concept. High-quality furnishings, crockery and cutlery paired with the cozy flair of a Bergisch parlor. Absolutely unique for me. I have now been able to experience a lot of international star cuisine and fine dining. But for me the Stemberg house remains unsurpassed in terms of its overall impression, its concept, its consistency and also its price/performance ratio.

A culinary masterpiece in Haus Stemberg My visit to Haus Stemberg in Velbert was an unforgettable experience. The 6-course meal I enjoyed was a veritable explosion of flavors and textures, more than justifying the restaurant's Michelin award. Ambiance and service: I felt welcome as soon as I entered the restaurant. The cozy country house atmosphere, combined with a modern touch, creates a perfect environment for a relaxed gourmet experience. The service was outstanding - attentive, friendly and always present without being intrusive.

A wonderful place for culinary delights and experiences. If you're looking for creative cooking without any unnecessary frills, Stemberg is the right place for you. What particularly impresses me is the successful combination of noble, sometimes slightly exotically interpreted dishes in alternation with regional classics to perfection such as Königsberger Klopse. Nothing seems artificial or artificial, rather the family tradition (5th generation) seems authentic and friendly. The service is noticeably friendly, communicative and, above all, competent. You can tell that chef Sascha puts his heart and soul behind the stove and lives the passion he inherited from his father. This also applies to the entire family and especially to senior partner Walter, who is at his best when carving the excellent Christmas geese and who otherwise primarily takes care of the exquisite wine cellar. Here you can find excellent (German) wines at pleasantly fair prices alongside top international wines. I'd love to come back.

Der Service , das Ambiente waren top! Hatten uns 3/4 Jahr auf die Gans gefreut die auch vom Fleisch her super war …. Aber die Sauce und der Rotkohl hatten wenig Geschmack . Und das hätte ich anders erwartet ! Der Bratapfel dazu war mini. Da stimmt leider Preis/Leistung nicht …

I had the opportunity to have dinner at Haus Stemberg and from the moment I walked in I knew I was in for a fantastic evening! The family Stemberg will provide you with the warmest welcome a guest could ask for and their personal approach is shown all evening. The food was well balanced and the flavors in combination with using the best ingredients made it close to perfection! The matching wines were well picked and the personal touch of the service made it a night to remember, I will definitely be back visiting Haus Stemberg and I can highly recommend it to guests that are looking for fantastic food and service in a house full of history and warm personal approach.

I can't understand how the restaurant got one star. The quality of the food was certainly good, but what was made of it corresponds at best to that of a better restaurant. I was there with my family during asparagus season and had a Wienerschnitzel as my main course, as well as a few others. We all really thought that it was a ready-made schnitzel, the breading was a complete disaster and all the schnitzels looked the same, just like pressed schnitzels from the factory. We were there around 12.45 and were urged by the boss to order even though we still had to wait for some. After we were finished around 2:20 p.m., the senior manager quickly dispatched us and pointed out that the restaurant was now closing. You really had the impression that you were being treated here for a lot of money and food at a restaurant level. Neither the food nor the service has anything to do with star quality and that at over 850.00 euros for 10 people where 8 only had a main course.

It's been on the "to do list" for a long time...now it finally worked out. Finally go out to eat with the two best and funniest Kitchen Impossible challengers. What can you say? It was just mega!!! Really great, attentive and very nice staff. The food was simply amazing. Whenever you thought it couldn't get any better, the next course came and it got even better and tastier. It was just incredibly great to have experienced it. The house and the casual and relaxed atmosphere simply make the time fly by. I've never eaten lunch for almost three hours before 😂 And if you can then watch the senior preparing the roast goose, the day has gone perfectly... Out of 10 possible points there is a whopping 12. Just say thank you for a really great experience!!!!

We decided to eat here for our 10th anniversary because we've heard good things about this restaurant. We reserved online. There is a parking lot in front of the restaurant. The decoration and atmosphere of the restaurant were very nice. But because we left the door open, there was a draft and my legs were particularly cold. The service was very accommodating. We chose the 5-course menu. Unfortunately, we didn't quite like the taste. Since I don't eat fish, there was either no substitute or foie gras (it might have been different if I had mentioned this intolerance beforehand). Personally, I wasn't impressed by the choice of meat or sauce (this may vary with the season). The dessert was the highlight, it was really good. After the courses we were full.

Super delicious food, great location, very friendly service. We would 100% be happy to come back.

Unfortunately, I can't really say much about the restaurant because the website and the menus on the internet are so mixed up that you don't know what applies. Unfortunately, we couldn't be of any help over the phone either. I once made the mistake in Dubai of ordering a Pepsi Light without a card and paid 9.50 euros. That's exactly why I definitely check the prices beforehand. Unfortunately this is not possible at Haus Stemberg or there are so many menus that the prices for 6 or 4-course menus cannot be clearly seen. Maybe Michelin should include things like this in its criteria so that topics like external representation/website are properly maintained. Too bad.
