Wir waren einmal zur Kommunion dort. Kaffee und Kuchen war Super und die Bedienung Spitze. Danach sind wir zu zweit zum Essen dort gewesen und waren ebenfalls sehr zufrieden. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Wir haben die Konfirmation unserer Mädchen mit 28 Personen gefeiert. Das Essen und der Service waren herausragend. Wir und unsere Gäste waren sehr zufrieden . Das haben alle sehr genossen . Lieben Dank für den reibungslosen schönen Tag. Familie Lang

Sehr leckere Speisen in einem Vintage Ambiente. Die Toiletten sind sehr sauber und der Aussenbereich fühlt sich wie ein Biergarten an. Drinnen gibt es ebenfalls einen Café Bereich. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Richtig schönes Ambiente und humorvolle als auch nette Bedienung. Das Essen war auch lecker. Die "Chip chops" statt den üblichen Pommes anzubieten ist ein tolles Erlebnis (mega lecker) und das Schnitzel war auch sehr kross. Für die Menschen, die nicht so viel essen können, gibt es einen "Seniorenteller", die natürlich nicht nur Senioren bestellen können 😊😆

Wir wohnen fast drei Jahre in Neviges. Das Wohnzimmer ist seit Übernahme von Bibi und Jaso einfach nur empfehlenswert! Tolle Gerichte, toller Service, tolle Events und wunderschönes Restaurant! Probiert die Gerichte und lasst euch liebevoll bedienen!

In Neviges in der Altstadt ,haben pierogis alla chef gegessen,waren lecker.Inneneinrichtung erinnert an ein typisches Wohnzimmer.Mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet.

In einem total leeren Laden wurden wir unfreundlich behandelt. Das Essen war ganz okay. Das Ambiente war muffig. Es hat sehr alt gerochen. Bei den Bewertungen hatte ich echt mehr erwartet

Ich komme wirklich super gerne hierher – oft zusammen mit meinem Partner. Obwohl wir beide noch recht jung sind, lieben wir diese altbürgerliche, gemütliche Location total. Endlich mal kein Mainstream und keine Fließband-Ware, sondern richtig ehrliches Essen mit Herz und Leidenschaft. Ich wurde hier noch nie enttäuscht, weder vom Service noch vom Frühstück oder den anderen Speisen. Für die Schnitzel fahren wir gut eine Stunde, weil man sowas heutzutage echt selten findet. Alles wirkt hausgemacht und genau so schmeckt es auch: einfach richtig gut, wie bei Oma. Der Service ist immer freundlich, charmant und hat oft einen lockeren Spruch auf den Lippen. Man fühlt sich sofort wohl und willkommen. Klar, die Auswahl ist etwas kleiner – aber genau das zeigt ja, dass hier alles frisch und mit Liebe zubereitet wird. Qualität statt Masse. Die schlechten Bewertungen kann ich absolut nicht nachvollziehen, vor allem wenn sie auf einzelnen, nicht erfüllten Erwartungen basieren, obwohl sonst alles gepasst hat. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall immer wieder gerne und hoffen sehr, dass es dieses tolle Lokal noch viele Jahre geben wird 🫶🏼

Nur einen Stern, weil der Kuchen wirklich lecker war. Der Service im Café war unterirdisch. Wir kamen in einer Gruppe mit guter Laune, aber nach dem unzuverlässigen, langsamen (5 Minuten für einen Espresso!) und absolut unfreundlichen Service sind wir leider wieder gegangen. Es ist unvorstellbar, dass man Beträge unter 10 € nicht mit Karte bezahlen kann (und die Gebühr ist im Jahr 2026 absolut inakzeptabel). Außerdem war der Service schlecht, unhöflich und respektlos. Wir mussten etwas bezahlen, das wir gar nicht bestellt hatten und das wir wieder mit nach Hause nehmen mussten (bezahlt mit Bargeld, Münzen). Gäste sind hier nicht willkommen. Die Bedienung zeigte uns ihre Missfallen über unseren Besuch durch Augenrollen und war sehr unhöflich. Ich hoffe wirklich, dass die nächsten Gäste eine deutlich angenehmere Erfahrung machen.

Moinsen! Wir waren, spontan, nach etlichen Jahren, auf einen Besuch in Neviges (kommen aus Gevelsberg, ich selbst stamme, gebürtig, aus Velbert) .Auf der Einfahrt in den Ort, von Richtung Langenberg aus, fiel uns dann schon das Schaufenster des Cafés auf! Vor Staunen und innerlichem Kind hätte ich fast die Linksrechtsschikane, vom Bahnhof die Hauptstraße entlang vergeigt 😅, da wir selbst kleine Fans der Wirtschaftswunderzeit/ des Rockabilly sind. Nach einer Begehung des Nevigeser Doms, entschieden wir, ebenso spontan, wie es der ganze Tag der Fall war, das Café/ Restaurant zu besuchen und ... sagen wir so: Hätte ich keine Ohren gehabt, wäre der obere Teil des Kopfes runter gefallen, wegen durchgehendem, freudigem Grinsen. Wir haben uns so wohl und willkommen gefühlt, ...wollten nicht mehr wech! Auch wenn es nur Kaffee und Kuchen war, super lecker und Preise sehr sehr fair! Es ist Alles sehr besonders, passt in's Ortsbild und gerade auch Jene, Die auf die alten Zeiten stehen, erleben hier Nostalgie mit Mobiliar, mehr Vintage (original alt) und etwas Retro (neu auf alt gemacht) in gut verteiler Weise, ohne ein Gefühl im überfüllten Antikgeschäft zu sein! Chef und Chefin (die anderen Mitarbeiter haben wir noch nicht mitbekommen) Herz am rechten Fleck und man begegnet sich auf sympathischer Augenhöhe! Wir waren, definitiv, NICHT das letzte Mal da! Wer kann, schaut Euch deren Website und, wenn geht, folgt auf den sozialen Medien und verpasst nicht die diversen Veranstaltungen, Die frühzeitig dort angepriesen werden! Wir waren jetzt schon mehrfach hier mit Familie und Freunden. Alle sind begeistert.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sehr empfehlenswertes Restaurant Wir waren bereits mehrfach hier, sowohl zum Essen als auch bei musikalischen Veranstaltungen. Das Personal ist freundlich, aufmerksam und dabei nicht aufdringlich. Die Speisen sind ansprechend zubereitet und von sehr guter Qualität, geboten wird eine gehobene deutsche Küche. Die Veranstaltungen finden in angenehmer Atmosphäre statt, mit fest zugewiesenen Sitzplätzen, an denen man vor oder während der Veranstaltung essen kann. Das Publikum ist stets angenehm, das Ambiente erinnert an ein gemütliches Wohnzimmer. Auch das Sonntags-Frühstücksbuffet ist empfehlenswert. Es bietet eine reichhaltige Auswahl mit vielen hausgemachten Produkten sowie warmen Brötchen und frischem Brot. Der Mittagstisch ist ebenfalls sehr zu empfehlen, mit abwechslungsreichen Gerichten um die 15 € inklusive einer leckeren Suppe. Insgesamt ein Restaurant, in dem man sich durch die schöne Einrichtung und den guten Service sehr wohlfühlt.

Wir haben hier den runden Geburtstag meines Mannes mit 21 Personen und Buffet gefeiert. Alles war zur vollsten Zufriedenheit und wir werden hier demnächst öfters essen gehen.

Heute leider sehr enttäuschenswerter Service, der nicht dem Ambiente entspricht. Ich bin dort öfter Gast gewesen, habe den Laden mindestens 4 Freunden empfohlen, und wollte heute nur einmalig die Toilette aufsuchen und bat an gerne auch einen Euro zu zahlen, da ich kein Gast war. Der Kellner war reserviert unhöflich, als wenn ich etwas dafür kann, dass (vermutlich) regelmäßig andere Leute auch schon mal gefragt hätten, erlaubte es mir jedoch. Dann kam ein anderer frecher Kellner mit Zopf, der sich in den Dialog einmischte und mir mit infantilen Sprüchen sagte die Toiletten seien draußen (-> ich soll wieder gehen). Im Endeffekt wurde mir verweigert auf Toilette zu gehen, obwohl ich Geld anbot. Ich kann es verstehen, dass es nervt, wenn man als Restaurant quasi als öffentliche Toilette verwendet wird, aber dann mietet bitte keine Räume direkt in der Innenstadt, wenn euch die Frage dermaßen abfckt. Oder nehmt meinetwegen soviel Geld pro Toilettengang wie Wucher-Sanifair. Der eklatante Mangel an Freundlichkeit, passt nicht zur nostalgischen Einrichtung. Wer vorgibt ein Restaurant der alten Schule zu sein, der muss auch dies beim Personal abliefern.

I spontaneously decided to visit Wohnzimmer in Neviges – and it was a truly delightful surprise! The restaurant is somewhat hidden away, but that's precisely what gives it its special charm. As soon as you step inside, you immediately feel at ease – the atmosphere is cozy, welcoming, and somehow a bit like being at home. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive without being intrusive. You can tell right away that they work with passion. The food was excellent, freshly prepared, and absolutely delicious – every dish was presented with care. For me, it's definitely a hidden gem in Neviges – anyone who enjoys good food and a relaxed atmosphere should absolutely visit Wohnzimmer. I'll definitely be back!

We were there for the first time yesterday, celebrating my birthday with my husband and kids...we received a very warm welcome...the food was delicious, generous portions, and beautifully presented. The ambiance was unique and very cozy; we felt at home and at ease.

The cake was very good, especially because it wasn't overly sweet. The selection was good. It's also nice that you can park right in front of the restaurant if you want to quickly buy some cake to take home.

We happened upon it by chance and stopped in. We were delighted by the unique ambiance. The delicious food and very attentive service rounded everything off. We'd be happy to come back. Thank you very much.

We were there for a cake lunch on Sunday. The service was very friendly. The food was delicious. The lunch buffet was only partially refilled, so it emptied relatively quickly. Afterwards, there was a delicious cake buffet. The ambiance is wonderfully cozy, with old and partly historic furnishings and decor. That day, a Silesian reunion was taking place in the village at the same time, and it was very crowded, loud, and at times a bit hectic. But that's understandable and doesn't deduct a star. There is no parking at the restaurant.

Very friendly service, the food was good, I liked the atmosphere.

One Thursday after my son's swimming lesson, we spontaneously went into the living room. We received a very friendly welcome and got a great table. The waiter was very polite and competent. There was a schnitzel for the child and a dish from my homeland, "pierogi," for me; they had to pass the taste test. My grandmother always made them for me. The chef did a really good job; the pierogi were top-notch. It won't be the last time I order them. The schnitzel was also delicious. We will definitely go there again, especially during Silesian Weeks 😉.

At the end of May, I celebrated my birthday with around 30 people in the "living room." We sat comfortably at four tables adjacent to the room where the buffet was set up, just like in our living room! The food was rated as very tasty and high-quality by all guests, and there was absolutely nothing to complain about. The service staff were very attentive and friendly until late in the evening. All in all, a more than successful restaurant visit, highly recommended!

Hey, totally cool restaurant. My wife and I discovered it by chance last weekend while visiting Mittelmarkt. The 1950s architecture is striking from the outside, but even more so inside 😂 Time has truly stood still there. Absolutely fantastic 😍 The friendly waitress was super fast and super nice, the food (pork medallions with fried potatoes and xy sauce) was fantastic, and the Benedictine beer on tap was absolutely fantastic 🥰. The prices are, as usual, in this range. I'll definitely be back again.

Extensive menu, delicious food, friendly and attentive service, good value for money. Parking is a bit tricky for those unfamiliar with the area, so it's best to check in advance! We were there for a large birthday party and were very satisfied. Highly recommended!

From my own experience, I don't quite understand where all the 5-star reviews come from. I had a cream of asparagus soup that wasn't creamy and was practically flavorless. I followed it with a ready-made schnitzel with 5 asparagus spears in Thomy hollandaise sauce and pre-made, machine-peeled boiled potatoes. It was accompanied by a chemical-tasting fruit spritzer. Overall, not bad, but not great either, and certainly not worth the 30-minute drive. There are no vegan or vegetarian options on the menu, even though they're advertised.

Nach einem Besuch im Dom war die Idee, in einem gemütlichen Kaffee mit leckerem Kuchen noch etwas zu entspannen. Hat leider nicht geklappt. Der Service in diesem Restaurant Café ist eine absolute Voll- Katastrophe. Es war relativ wenig los, drei Damen und ein Herr im Service. Die erste Dame, nachdem wir 15 Minuten gewartet haben, erklärte uns, dass sie nicht zuständig ist für unseren. Die zweite junge Dame rannte dreimal vorbei und hatte überhaupt keine Reaktion, trotz Ansprache und Handzeichen. Dann ging ich zum Kuchenbuffet und bat darum, dass man bedient wird. Nun kam eine freundliche Dame, wie sich später mal herausstellte, die Chefin. Sie sagte sorry und wir konnten die Bestellung aufgeben. Jetzt wurde Kaffee gebracht, der war aber lauwarm. Bin wieder zur Theke gegangen und habe gesagt sorry der Kaffee ist kalt. Also wurde der Kaffee ausgetauscht gegen einen heißen. Als wir bezahlen wollten, die nächste unangenehme Situation, die junge Dame, bei welcher wir sagten, dass wir zahlen möchten, schickt die die Chefin zum falschen Tisch. Wie es dann so ist, 😅vier junge Leute, die einzelnen bezahlen und nicht mehr so richtig wussten, wer was hatte. Das dauert natürlich. Also neue Wartezeit angesagt.🙂‍↕️ Echt schade, der Kuchen war okay, die Inhaberin hat sich bemüht, freundlich auf die Reklamationen auch an anderen Tischen einzugehen, ich glaube aber, dass beim Team noch erhebliches Potenzial aufzubauen ist.

We were there on Sunday morning for the breakfast buffet. This means that all food and drinks are included in the price. There is a wide selection of sausages, cheese, jams and other delicacies available. Scrambled eggs, bacon and Nuremberg sausages and whatever else is running low is always freshly refilled. However, the ambience is really very special and worth a visit alone. There are many decorative items from the 60s to 90s that I and our parents remember from their childhood. All in all, a very successful Sunday morning with an attractive price/performance ratio. We'd love to come back.

The atmosphere is very nice. I had ordered heaven and earth. The portion was moderately large. The homemade mashed potatoes tasted unimaginative and were lukewarm at best. The food is delicious. The service was super nice and quick. There is live music every now and then. However, when it is full, it is very loud and you have problems understanding your own words. But the food and everything around it makes up for it. We'll definitely be back.

Absolute recommendation! The journey of over 50km was worth it. Ambiance: When we entered the restaurant we were really impressed by the atmosphere. We have never felt as comfortable anywhere as we did there. That's why the name "living room" is absolutely appropriate, because you just want to linger there and enjoy the atmosphere. There was a lot of attention to detail here. Eat: We listened to the recommendations from the service and were not disappointed. Be it a starter, main course or dessert, it was excellent. Service: Everyone was very friendly and accommodating, we didn't miss anything. Thank you for the great evening in your living room. We will come again 😊

We were there for the Bergisch coffee table. The waffles were delicious and the service was friendly. Instead of the extremely watery filter coffee, we ordered a cappuccino, which was unfortunately also bad. Bread and cold cuts tasted like pure industrial goods from a package. All in all, nothing special and not worth the trip for us.

I had dinner in this cafe/restaurant today with my best friend and her daughter It was a recommendation from my friend. I was there for the first time. I was totally enchanted by the ambience with its 50/60 charm. decades. I felt as comfortable there as I did with my grandma. 😍 The food was super tasty and totally fresh. And not too expensive either. For 3 main courses, 3 desserts and 9 drinks 94 is completely fine. The service was also excellent. The waitress was very friendly and very charming. Small additional requests for the dishes were taken into account. This beautiful retro café/restaurant is a must see. I will definitely eat here with my boyfriend sometime. LG

Talking.... wanting to use a voucher book and complaining about a family breakfast that was actually delicious but cost 37 euros, of which the restaurateur doesn't even have 10% left. Neviges living room. Yes indeed. A living room like in the early 1960s with a music chest and old tube radios. I can't complain about the service. We arrived around 4 p.m. and were told that everything would be reserved from 5 p.m. - could we imagine being ready by 5 p.m. We were able to (2 people). So we were allowed to sit down and order pierogi. These are available with cabbage and minced meat fillings. We were interested in both and so we each got a mixed plate of pierogi. And what can I say? The pierogi were excellent. Maybe the pierogi with cabbage tasted just a little bit better than the ones with meat filling. But both were delicious. Unfortunately I can't post a photo of the meal because the pierogies were gone in no time. The prices were ok too. A portion of pierogi cost €14.90. The drinks were averagely expensive (wheat beer €5.00, white wine spritzer €6.20). But what shocked me deeply was the mistreatment and misuse of bibliophile treasures such as full-cloth bound volumes of Goethe's individual works in the Book Guild edition from the 1970s as coasters for drip candles (see photo)! But the good food and the friendliness of the service lifted me up again.

Without a reservation, I recently dropped in one evening with 20 students. Everything went smoothly. Super friendly welcome and service. Pleasant homely decor and atmosphere. Excellent kitchen. Very tasty food at a good price. Everyone was satisfied. Highly recommended. I'll be back.

Wunderbarer Abend heute, aber wo soll man anfangen? Der Name "Wohnzimmer" passt: Man sitzt nicht wie so oft dicht an dicht wie die Hühner auf der Stange, sondern an schönen alten Tischen zwischen ausgesuchten Möbeln. Während der Wartezeit auf das Essen hat man seine Freude beim Betrachten der vielen originellen Details, mit denen die Besitzer des Restaurants Akzente setzen. Lustige Sachen, altes Geschirr, ein bisschen Flohmarkt, ein bisschen Nippes. Aber alles wirkt in dieser Umgebung stimmig und im besten Sinne "uncool". Sehr fröhliche Begrüßung, dann den ganzen Abend über aufmerksame, kompetente, aber nie aufdringliche "Bedienung", besser "Begleitung". So erfuhren wir z.B. bei der Bestellung, dass es zu bestimmten Fleisch- oder Fischgerichten täglich wechselnde frisch angerührte Soßen gibt, und was es mit hausgemachten Chips auf sich hat. Beides sehr köstlich, wie überhaupt alle unsere Speisen: Ob Beilagensalate in Orangenvinaigrette, deftig gewürzte Piroggen, die vielgelobten Schnitzel oder feinstes Zanderfilet, zart und knusprig - alles war perfekt für unseren Geschmack. Ein großes Dankeschön dem Team vom " Wohnzimmer", Ihr macht alles richtig! Hatte ich "uncool" geschrieben? Falsch! Das Wohnzimmer ist bestimmt neben dem Kloster der coolste Platz in Neviges. Wir haben uns vorhin schon überlegt, wann wir wiederkommen können und was wir dann ausprobieren.

Best fries (organic) currywurst I have ever eaten. The waffle was also to die for. We have already threatened that we will come back 😍 Oh and all this for €47.50 (including 2 Capucino/ 2 espresso/ cake/ Hugo/ Krefelder and two schnapps... We always paid twice as much in the Düsseldorf area and it worked only tasted half as good. A big compliment also to the very friendly staff.

As always, a very nice atmosphere and the food is also organic quality from regional farmers, first class. The schnitzel and the pilgrim pan are a taste explosion and a schnitzel could hardly taste more tender

It was our second visit. Unfortunately it was also our last. The first time we were treated nicely and the food was good, the price was as advertised. This time we wanted to eat breakfast here because we had received a voucher for it. So called there and booked a table for breakfast. When we went in, we saw the hefty price of €14.90 per person for the "breakfast buffet." Because we had come from further away because of the voucher book. We had it in our hands and it was on the table while we ate, which was easy for all the employees to see. But the waitress didn't tell us that the boss had been thinking about not accepting voucher books for breakfast for three weeks. Although this regularly leads to problems (customers who are surprised with a bill that is too high) Same with us. We showed the voucher on which it was clearly offered 2 for the price of 1. We didn't get this voucher for free, you pay €45 for this voucher book. After the meal we were too stupid to discuss the price. Since two inquiries didn't help, we paid and vowed never to come back. I don't know whether the line has already been crossed into fraud here or not. For our feelings, definitely yes. We found the buffet to be comparatively small, there were few scrambled eggs and it was cold. We only added more after we had the cold scrambled eggs on our plates. But overall it was ok. The Greek yogurt with honey was delicious. Absolutely not recommended for the price. Toddlers are €7.90 Adults charged €14.90. Conclusion: Young family paid €37.70 for breakfast here, which we otherwise get for half or less. It's a shame about the potential that is being wasted here. Is the boss new? Probably has to, because otherwise he would have ordered the vouchers for customers to buy and then no longer be allowed to redeem them from him. Information will only be provided upon payment, i.e. when you can no longer decide otherwise. Fraud ? Feels like that. At least we were deliberately not told that the voucher would not be accepted. (Because it was visibly placed on the table) This is how you scare away your customers.

Ate from the buffet for a larger group. Very tasty and good. The sauces were especially delicious. The service was friendly and attentive, but there was still a lack of professionalism. So we had to wait outside the door because everything wasn't prepared yet. Still recommended.

We had the salmon fillet with rice and vegetables and that was excellent. Price/performance more than okay...staff and owner MEGA friendly and very attentive. You felt very comfortable there. We will definitely be regulars now. Perfect and keep it up :-))))

Seating difficult to understand, everything at the front was empty, even old ladies had to go to the corner. The cake selection was poor and the coffee was cafeteria-like
