Dining at the Genuss-Atelier was a truly exceptional experience. We opted for a four-course surprise menu with wine pairings. Each course offered creative combinations of predominantly regional ingredients, resulting in seasonally appropriate dishes. The wine selection was excellent and also very regionally focused. The incredibly relaxed atmosphere at the Genuss-Atelier and the exceptionally attentive and friendly service deserve special mention.

The architecture is 10/10 but the service could improve with drinks and having water at all times.. we got the 8 course menu without seafood (allergy) and they gave us mostly vegetarian stuff which was fine but when the “main” meat plate came out it was super underwhelming. Not even the truffles could make it taste better.. very disappointing for a venison dish. My favorite dishes were the cauliflower soup and the sourdough bread with brussel sprouts. Dessert was mediocre

For a Michelin-starred restaurant, this was extremely disappointing. Most of the dishes consisted of overcooked vegetable mush, and the main course—a pigeon—was very dry. Overall, it was a disappointing evening. The only positive thing we will remember was the beautiful ambience of the restaurant.

My visit to the Genussatelier began with a warm welcome. I really liked the restaurant. The vaulted ceiling, combined with the excellent lighting, creates an incredible warmth – kudos for that. I always appreciate a self-service cutlery system, but it's important to ensure there's a sufficient variety and quantity. In fact, I liked the water glasses so much that I ordered them myself. The service was friendly and attentive, with the level of warmth varying slightly depending on the server, but overall it was very high quality. One drawback for me was the limited selection of non-alcoholic beverages. There was something available with the aperitif, but after that, only soft drinks were offered. Now, let's get to the most important part: the menu. The amuse-bouche was a delightful start – not too elaborate and very flavorful. The first course was quince and beetroot, and what can I say? When executed as well as here, these two ingredients immediately won me over. Fresh, fruity, slightly earthy – a perfect combination. The next course was octopus, and with it, my inner moral dilemma once again. Aside from that, it was brilliantly executed. Edamame and a slightly spicy chutney rounded out the dish. The mushroom essence was, for me, the weakest dish of the evening. Rather one-dimensional and lacking in intensity, it didn't fully realize its potential. The next course was a real highlight. Chervil with fresh truffle – simply divine. A multitude of aromas and a pleasant crunch. Next up was gurnard with tomatoes and shallots. Well-executed, but without any surprises or particularly remarkable features. Then, I was served gurnard with tomatoes and shallots. A good dish, but without any surprises or special touches. Then, a red gurnard with tomatoes and shallots. For the main course, we had an Iberico pork dish, and I can only say this: the fillet was excellent, the wild broccoli even more so, and the cheeks truly in a class of their own. A fantastic main course. The desserts didn't quite maintain the same high standard. Everything was well-balanced and good, but in my opinion, the refined elegance of a truly excellent patisserie wasn't quite achieved at Genussatelier. In conclusion, I had a wonderful evening. There were a few minor shortcomings, but these were more than compensated for by the very fair price for what was offered. I can wholeheartedly recommend it!

During our visit on September 26, 2025, there was no pale Czech beer. The menu said Staropramen. The only beer served was Radeberger. That's unacceptable. The ambiance is also inconsistent. There's no Bohemian atmosphere. The food was good.

Marco, our waiter for the evening, is the only positive part of this review. He was friendly, competent and funny. The service alone is the reason for the fact I didn't put 0 stars. However.... the food was unequivocally THE worse I've ever had. And I've been going out to restaurants a lot all my life! Out of the hundreds and hundreds of places I've eaten at all over the world (from simple snack/pizzeria/pub grub to Michelin starred restaurants), I have never found the food so awful. The entire 4-course meal was literally disgusting, sadly. They attempt to pass off as high-end gastronomy with fancy presentation (shown to us onscreen after the meal) but the flavours and textures were simply ghastly. Way too much salt was also used, to mask the absence of any notably enjoyable flavour.. Germany is not known for good gastronomy, and that's ok : they have other areas in which they excel. But please, don't pretend you can cook when you cannot. This was catastrophical. The experience of the Dunkelrestaurant is supposed to be mostly about eating in pitch black darkness, I get that. But the food should at least be edible! I couldn't eat any of my courses and gave them to my husband (he is German and will usually eat anything in order to avoid waste, but even he agreed it was tasteless, too salty and not worth the price...). I felt sick to my stomach for hours after the meal, into the night. The dark concept in which one cannot see the food they eat nor the environment, was original.. but not enjoyable. It was awkward, and took away from the experience of eating, which also passes via our vision. We first eat with our eyes... I understand that this isn't the case for sight-challenged people such as Marco, but for the rest of us who have been lucky enough to see in this life, the habit to see our food is too hard to lose so abruptly. Lastly, the pricing is absolutely outrageous. We spent 186€ on 2 people (4 courses, a glass of poor tasting wine and a small shot of pear liquor). The pear liquor which they make themselves was he ONLY element I liked, it was very nice. But not worth nearly 200€ ... not even close ! All in all, a huge disappointement and a salty (meal) pricetag at the end... Not to be repeated. Sorry guys, I have to be honest, as a food enthusiast and coming from France, the taste of food is very important to me and this was a massive let down. Take care.

It wasn't my first time there, but every time it's an unforgettable evening. Whether alone or in a small group, it's always great. I love the 5-course menu; there's always something new, never boring. The wines are also really delicious and always from Saxony or the Unstrut region. Last time, they even included one from Brandenburg. I'm already looking forward to next evening.

The restaurant is well located, easily accessible by private car or just steps away if you're a traveler and prefer public transportation. The service and customer service are phenomenal, and the explanation of each dish and wine is excellent. We highly recommend choosing the surprise menu with wine tasting. The menu we had, which focused on seafood and fish, was quite good. However, compared to other Michelin-starred restaurants we've been to, the menu was somewhat lacking. The only dish that truly surprised us was the main course. It wasn't spectacular, but it did its job.

Unser 6- Gänge- Überraschungs- Menü war wieder einmal fantastisch- kreativ- ein wahrer Genuss und auch optisch einzigartig. Wir waren und sind einfach begeistert. Ein unaufdringlicher und aufmerksamer Service, mit Erklärungen zu Wein und Speisen- zeigt die Fachkompetenz und Liebe zu jedem Detail. Man spürt dass Genuss hier gelebt wird- und ein ganzes Team für diese Idee steht! Wir freuen uns schon sehr auf das nächste Mal!

We traveled all the way from Hesse to eat at the Genuss-Atelier restaurant—or rather, to enjoy it. The restaurant's name says it all. We spent an all-around wonderful and successful evening with delicious food and drinks. Even though our stay was a few weeks ago, we still think about it often. The 450 kilometers were 100% worth it! We'll be back!

When we decided to take a short trip to Dresden to get to know the city, we happened upon the restaurant "Genuss-Atelier" and immediately reserved two seats, as the website was already very convincing.

Elegimos el menú sorpresa de seis platos para ambos con un maridaje regional de vinos para uno, que compartimos. Nuestra comida era deliciosa e inventiva, con el conejo siendo un placer particular. El servicio fue rápido sin apurarnos, y como mínimo germanoparlantes (nuestro malo) , el excelente inglés hablado por todo el personal fue de gran ayuda. Su entusiasmo por su comida y bebida era claro. Sí, no es la cena más barata, pero fue un verdadero placer y disfrutamos mucho de nuestra noche.

We celebrated our anniversary today at the Genuss-Atelier and couldn't have asked for a better place to do it. Despite not having a reservation, we were warmly welcomed - many thanks to the Blonkowski siblings for this spontaneous hospitality! The 5-course menu for a fair €80 developed into a culinary experience with a total of nine dishes served - each component carefully crafted and perfectly balanced in terms of taste. Even the start with macarons and tartare was an exciting game of textures and flavors. This was followed by highlights such as wild garlic soup with char, halibut with artichoke, celery and excellent beurre blanc as well as rabbit with green asparagus and king oyster mushrooms. Special praise for the accompanying drink: the Pinot Gris sherry was so convincing that I enjoyed it both as an aperitif and with dessert (strawberry with sour cream). The drinks prices were all fairly calculated. An evening full of enjoyment, accompanied by professional, attentive service in a pleasant atmosphere. We would love to come back!

The food was amazing! Every single dish was delicious! We had tasting menu. One can order fully vegetarian, pescatarian, or with meat. Absolutely recommend to come here when in Dresden! The only point is that all dishes were safe combinations of tastes, no experiments/risks. It is a pretty classic menu. Which in my case is a nice option, but for others could be different.

Inventive and clever. The gears are perfectly coordinated. I probably don't have to say a word about the quality of the products and the preparation ;-). The siblings prove that gastronomy at this level does not need to serve the products with a lot of white linen and fanfare. The atmosphere is relaxed and rather casual. Menu and wine accompaniment absolutely recommended - first-class service

We chose the 8-course menu and were thrilled. Price-performance is first class. We really couldn't find anything in any dish that we didn't like or like. The restaurant manages to prepare ingredients that you don't really like in such a way that they still taste very good (rhubarb for example). The homemade lemonade is a real insider tip. The only thing I didn't find tasty was the truffle, which was available as an additional charge to the main course. But that's not because of the preparation or the ingredients, but simply because of my personal taste. I just wanted to try it. The atmosphere is nice and rustic. You feel comfortable and it has a rustic, vaulted cellar atmosphere. Very suitable for the restaurant. The service was trained and regularly offered to get new drinks. There is no reason for criticism here. Parking is easy on the side streets of the restaurant. You can always find something there. We'll definitely come back next time we're in Dresden!

We were hoping for a special evening at this Michelin restaurant, but were unfortunately disappointed by the service. During dinner, a glass of rosé wine was accidentally spilled on one of our light gray jackets. Such mishaps can happen - but what matters is how they are dealt with. When we discussed the incident, the waiter reacted rather evasively and just said that we had to “clarify it with the other colleague”. We were initially not offered a direct solution. At least the other waiter later apologized for the mishap - which we certainly appreciate. Only after we asked further were we offered a hot drink at the end, which we declined - whereupon this was again acknowledged with a sharp comment. It wasn't until the end of the evening that the boss came to the table and offered to cover the costs of cleaning the jacket if the large stains didn't come out - a positive step, but unfortunately too late to save the overall impression. What further irritated us was that the full bottle of rosé wine from which the spilled glass came was still listed on our bill as normal in the end. When we left, we were also greeted quite coldly - without another word about the incident or a final apology. The way the incident was handled and the general attitude of the service staff significantly marred the evening. Unfortunately not at the expected level for a Michelin restaurant.

We were there 3 years ago and it was immediately clear that our 45th birthday had to be celebrated there (even if the journey was 300km away). Words cannot describe how incredible this food is. They manage to prepare ingredients that you don't like at all in such a way that you no longer know why you didn't like that ingredient. Each course is a work of art in the visual and taste sense. The staff is attentive and courteous. This experience is worth every penny and everyone should eat there once in their life.

Location quite nice. The food meets normal expectations and is very manageable in quantity. This creates a high expectation, which was not really fulfilled since the second small piece of meat was tough. Not a big problem in itself. However, the handling of a complaint was disappointing!! Not worth repeating for us!

Auch unser zweiter Besuch in Dresden verschlug uns ins Genuss-Atelier. Angenehme Atmosphäre, freundlicher aber unaufdringlicher Service. Jeder Gang war eine Überraschung und die Präsentation gelungen. Einziges Manko, uns war es zu warm im Lokal. Preislich nicht günstig, aber für das Gebotene in Ordnung. Wir kommen sicherlich wieder einmal vorbei.

Wir wollten einfach mal schön essen gehen und haben im Genuss-Atelier einen Tisch reserviert. Wir haben ein 5-Gänge Überraschungs-Menü gewählt und ich kann nur sagen: Überraschung war es nicht nur - was war überragend! Wir hatten ein tolles Menü, jeder Gang war außergewöhnlich und einfach nur großartig. Wir hatten einen tollen Abend und freuen uns sehr aufs nächste mal. Vielen vielen Dank an das ganze Team für diese tolle Erfahrung:-)

In großer Runde kommen wir immer wieder gern zu Marcus und Nicole ins Genuss-Atelier. Vom ersten Moment an fühlt man sich willkommen – zu Gast bei und mit Freunden. Die Küche? Kreativ, raffiniert und einfach zum Niederknien lecker! Dazu gibt es immer wieder kleine, persönliche Grüße aus der Küche, mit denen wir überrascht werden. Natürlich darf das passende Getränk nicht fehlen: Ein perfekt gekühlter Gin Tonic zum Start in den Abend und die Weinbegleitung passend zum Überraschungsmenü Das Team? Das Beste! Fazit: Locker, entspannt, absolut köstlich – ein Muss für alle, die gutes Essen lieben! Wir kommen garantiert wieder.

Absolute recommendation! The four of us had dinner here yesterday, relatively spontaneously, and I have to say - wow. A great ambience in a beautiful vaulted cellar, very friendly, relaxed and attentive service without being intrusive. And the food - a dream! Very creative and extremely tasty, also very appealing to the eye. A good selection of wines to accompany the wine, perfectly matched to the individual courses. We felt very welcome and comfortable. And it certainly wasn't there for the last time! An absolute evening of enjoyment. Thanks.

We were here for the second time. The first time for dinner, today for lunch. But no matter what time of day: very good service, great ambience and, above all, excellent food. We had the surprise menu, which was well coordinated and tasted very interesting. The kitchen's greetings were excellent, the oysters were fresh, the food sequence was balanced and very tasty. Overall, a very nice time. We like the different herbs, spices and preparation options.

Really great restaurant in a cozy, suitably furnished vaulted cellar including very friendly, individual service and a high level of advice on the dishes and corresponding wines. We chose the 8-course menu and were absolutely thrilled with the menu sequence, the selection of regional products, the presentation and the matching wines. The kitchen and service are a well-rehearsed and friendly team. The price level is also quite moderate for a star restaurant. This won't be the last time we've enjoyed a wonderful evening here!

Exceptionally good food and service. The two of us had the 6 course menu and every single course was delicious. There was one or two pieces of information or delicacies with individual courses or with the wine, very pleasant. For a small family with a baby, the porridge they brought with them was even warmed up in the house and the can was returned cleaned. That's what I call service! I can only recommend the Genussatelier if you want and can spend a little more for very good food. Thank you and gladly again!

Very nice high quality restaurant. Very good service, fine food and a superbly selected wine pairing by the sommelier. All of this seems completely irrelevant. Of course, this cuisine and the wines are higher priced, everyone should be aware of that beforehand.

Excellent cuisine. The food was extremely tasteful and beautifully prepared. Art comes from skill. Menus / menu can be combined. Individual preferences are taken into account. Menu varied. Pleasantly quick, very friendly, calm and careful service. Pleasant atmosphere. We quite rightly received a Michelin star. Very reasonable prices for what is offered.
