Excellent service. The sommelier's wine selection enhances the evening with perfectly coordinated accompaniment. The team is not only excellently trained, but also puts their hearts into the matter. The service is humorous, individual and professional -- just as masterful as the cuisine itself.
There are restaurants and Berlin restaurants. Sometimes that may not make a difference, but often it does. Even and perhaps because you have a Michelin star. Nobelhart und Schmutzig is Berlin in almost everything. The food is Berlin or at most Brandenburg, the fantastic kitchen brigade in the open kitchen where every member can offer a dish, the openly politically committed, but especially Billy Wagner, owner and sommelier who frolics around the bar table arranged in a square and provides the guests in his own in-your-face way with beautiful wines, beautiful stories and responsible and surprising dishes. The man lives his restaurant and everything screams Berlin. The food here is surprising with perfect wine, beer or non-alcoholic pairings, but above all it is also a unique experience.
We had a wonderful evening with fantastic food. These flavors will be remembered. Thank you very much, we'll be back! Our special thanks go to Stella from Service. With her open, friendly and courteous manner, she made the evening perfect. We look forward to seeing you all again.
Wonderful little hotel, located in the middle of Neustadt and right on the market square.
Great breakfast and very nice staff.
Unfortunately, this hotel does not have an elevator or other options to get to the first and second floors.
Still great even after 48 years. Very classic cuisine, yet surprisingly light and inventive. Add to that the warm service under the very knowledgeable restaurant manager. And all this in one of the most beautiful buildings in historic Kaiserswerth. My recommendation: Go!
Thank you for the oriental trip. It was a highlight for both the taste senses and the eyes. This was underlined by pleasant, informal and authentic service. We had a very nice evening in the rooms surrounded by old, thick walls with accents from the Orient.
The restaurant reopened on September 16, 2020 after a break of almost 6 months. Maybe that was also the reason for the failed performance. In any case, I have to strongly advise against it for the following reasons.
Time: Ordered 4 of 7 courses with wine accompaniment. Dinner took a whopping 5.5 hours. This is absolutely unacceptable and inexcusable. The dishes were all cleverly prepared, impeccably prepared with the finest ingredients, even if not everything met my personal taste. The wine pairing was disappointing. Not only were the wines served much earlier than the food, but the quality/quantity of the wines could have been better considering the price (45 EUR for 4 x 0.1L). I'm also not sure if it was really 0.1L. When we finally got the bill after 5.5 hours at half past midnight, completely exhausted, I was shocked by the price of 9 EUR for a 0.75 liter bottle of water. That's sick! If you spend over 300 EUR on the meal, you can expect to be given a jug of still water for free. This is absolutely outrageous. Especially since we're not talking about any Himalayan mountain spring water, but about seltzer.
I'm sorry, but we will never visit this restaurant again and I can also advise all other guests to look for other star restaurants.
We had a beautiful 7 course meal here. Exceptional food - a really wide variety of tastes, textures, cultures, and ingredients. Every dish was an explosion of flavor and the waiter even brought my husband the bone from our veal cutlet to get every last bit of flavor! Speaking of service, it is also exceptional. Attentive, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable - even having to translate the complicated ingredients to English for us! Would absolutely eat here again.
