Gourmetrestaurant Kabinett F.W. in Potsdam

The restaurant reopened on September 16, 2020 after a break of almost 6 months. Maybe that was also the reason for the failed performance. In any case, I have to strongly advise against it for the following reasons. Time: Ordered 4 of 7 courses with wine accompaniment. Dinner took a whopping 5.5 hours. This is absolutely unacceptable and inexcusable. The dishes were all cleverly prepared, impeccably prepared with the finest ingredients, even if not everything met my personal taste. The wine pairing was disappointing. Not only were the wines served much earlier than the food, but the quality/quantity of the wines could have been better considering the price (45 EUR for 4 x 0.1L). I'm also not sure if it was really 0.1L. When we finally got the bill after 5.5 hours at half past midnight, completely exhausted, I was shocked by the price of 9 EUR for a 0.75 liter bottle of water. That's sick! If you spend over 300 EUR on the meal, you can expect to be given a jug of still water for free. This is absolutely outrageous. Especially since we're not talking about any Himalayan mountain spring water, but about seltzer. I'm sorry, but we will never visit this restaurant again and I can also advise all other guests to look for other star restaurants.

We had dinner here as part of our weekend stay at the Wellness Hotel and were disappointed! The food and the wine were really very tasty and also recommended - what was absolutely not good was the service. We, two women, came up the stairs to the restaurant with jackets from our rooms in the annex building - it was winter - and were not greeted with a friendly "good evening" or anything similar, but directly, in a harsh tone, by the head waiter Referred to the cloakroom. Afterwards we had to wait over 15 minutes for a table - while there were TWO tables for two free the entire time - including when we, as the last guests, left the restaurant. The head waiter didn't seem to care much about us either - we had to wait a long time until empty wine glasses were filled and were ignored throughout our stay in the restaurant. Not exactly what you would expect from a restaurant like this - it was simply unprofessional. We decided on ZERO € tip and it was the first time I did that!

Ok, first things first: it's expensive! Especially for this region. But it's worth it. You get more than just excellent food: you feel royally looked after. A great atmosphere, very friendly, courteous and attentive service. Oh yes, the food: appropriate to the requirements. To be more precise: great compositions with extremely good wines. The wine accompaniment was worth it. It was really a culinary delight. Lots of nice surprises that flattered you. Plus various surprises as intermediate courses from the kitchen. In short: I'll be back, even if not so quickly, so that my budget can recover...

I liked the fact that people are trying, and it’s worth a lot

The best address in Potsdam. The food was not only of excellent quality but also conveyed a new taste experience with each course. Service is appropriately professional given the price level.

Recommend all the food here except the traditional German food.

Food was a real surprise in some places. 4 courses were sufficient. Unfortunately the service was very slow. Drinks were not sent promptly. When the restaurant manager was at the table everything went perfectly. Perfect service and good wine recommendations. So gladly again. Unfortunately there were just too many mosquitoes on the terrace.

Particularly outstandingly friendly and courteous service staff. Here, as a guest, you are literally carried in your hands. Very high quality breakfast with local game specialties, but also a wide range of vegetarian options. The inventory of the hunter's house is a bit old, but is in a well-maintained condition. The spa area, on the other hand, is state-of-the-art and leaves nothing to be desired with a steam bath, a Finnish sauna and a lavish pool. The fitness room cannot really meet this requirement. There are only three cardio machines in front of a television. Public transport is an excellent way to get to Potsdam and back, especially on weekends, and at a fair price (day ticket: €4.20).

Our experience at Friedrich Wilhelm was good, but not outstanding. The amuse bouche was very good, the king crab with tamago and chili was top cuisine at the highest level. The main courses were unfortunately disappointing: they were good, but not particularly great. You expect more from a Michelin restaurant. The lamb was tender but also a bit bland. The desserts were unusual but good. The service was excellent, if a little too submissive. The waiters thanked us every time they were allowed to clear something away. That doesn't have to be the case. The wines were also good, but not outstanding.

Hier wird einem ein perfekter Abend mit Sterneküche, toller Weinbegleitung und besonders zuvorkommendem Personal geboten. Das Ambiente ist stilvoll, jeder Gang war ein "Gedicht". Es ist immer wieder unfassbar, mit welchen Kombinationen man den Gast begeistern kann. Einfach nur absolut empfehlenswert!

Ein unglaublich gutes Restaurant. Das Menue war eine grandiose komposition. Es war eine gute Wahl den Weinempfehlungen zu folgen. Besonders die Vorspeise und das Dessert haben mir gefallen. Das Personal ist überaus freundlich, gut geschult und zuvorkommend. Der Abend hier zählt gerade zu den Top 5 meines Essengehens.
