Real Bavarian food amazing place great choices of local food. Very friendly and the food is delicious. Worth going for sure. We went with our German friends who suggested the place and we loved it. Excellent choice for excellent food, drinks and company
The Augustiner am Platz is a wonderful place to enjoy good food and excellent beer in a traditional Bavarian atmosphere. The Schanigarten invites you to linger, especially on warm days. Particularly noteworthy is the wooden barrel beer, which is regularly served fresh from the barrel 2-3 times a week - a true taste experience that makes the Bavarian beer experience even more authentic.
The restaurant is a family business, which is reflected in the warm and personal atmosphere. The Bavarian dishes are freshly prepared and cooked with great attention to detail - a perfect combination of traditional cuisine and modern enjoyment.
Since the restaurant is in a very popular location, a reservation is recommended, especially if you want to sit in the Schanigarten or come on the weekends. Overall, the Augustiner am Platz offers a wonderful opportunity to experience Bavarian hospitality, enjoy delicious food and taste the freshly tapped beer. An absolute insider tip for everyone who appreciates authentic Bavarian cuisine and good beer!
I really wanted to try something typical of Northern Germany. I chose Labskaus, even though I wasn't particularly impressed by its appearance at first 😅
They offer it at a reasonable price here, and I highly recommend it!
The portion was huge and I really enjoyed it. I'd love to go back!
My partner had a pollock fillet with potato salad and also found it very tasty.
The restaurant is cozy. I was here early Friday evening, and although it was busy, we managed to get four seats without a reservation.
I'd particularly like to emphasize how inexpensive the food is here. There were four of us (one drink and one meal each; two people only had a snack/snack) and we only paid €70, including tip.
About the photos: I was too greedy and had already started when my partner took the photo—so don't be surprised if something's missing...
Typical German food, without a doubt the best place for them, whenever I go to Frankfurt I end up there, the Frankfurter Grüne Soße is fantastic, the best in all of Frankfurt.
Great restaurant in the Speicherstadt. The location alone is worth it. There is also great service and delicious good food. The menu is select but has something for everyone. Extra requests will be accommodated. There is lunch until 2 p.m. and, at least on our evening, some special dishes. Price-performance fits. Unfortunately, parking in front of the door is not possible. There are some parking spaces at Dovenfleet. Of course they cost. That's a shame, but there's nothing the restaurant can do about it. Messberg subway just a few minutes walk away.
A total winner. If you are looking for really traditional and authentic German cooking, stumble no further than this spot.
The restaurant feels like a large house dining room, with wooden chairs and tables and a really relaxed feeling.
Our waitress spoke great English and took good care of us. They have an English menu as well, so don't stress about remembering German vocab from high school.
We ordered the poached pork shoulder and the schnitzel and both were huge, delicious and really filling. The mashed peas that came with the pork shoulder were outstanding.
They also had a great selection of unusual beverages, and I was especially happy with my non-alcoholic beer I ordered.
