The cinnamon pan was cold and was replaced after a complaint. The food arrived warm, but the meat was so dry that it was inedible. What a pity, actually a nice place

On three levels, space for an estimated HUNDREDS of guests. “Kölsche Karte”, delicious Guild Kölsch. Service was on point, food was very tasty. "Adenauer on the walls... Great ambience! "I'll be back!" 👍😉

If you are in Cologne and have time, then I can only recommend eating there.

I visitee this place twice. The first time it was wonderfull and I would rate it 5 starts - great location, tasty food, variety of options and local specialties, very friendly service. The second time I came back based on previous good experience, friendly waiter at the front showed us where to sit and then a very unfriendly lady literary started shouting at me in German. I answered in English that her colleague told us to sit there. She wanted us to move to a smaller table. Which is fine, we were only 2. However, the way she told us was not fine,shouting is not needed and not expected in a touristy place like this. Hence, 3 stars as an average of 2 experiences. Too bad, the place is great and has more options than any other restaurant at Old market, but after this experience I will not come back.

Olaf is the greatest waiter. The history of the place, the food and all the experience was so Great. We had Gluten Free Food. All was incredible. Came back for lunch the next day.

The place has a lot of history so it’s worth a visit. I have some dietary restrictions and I ordered something that had ingredients that weren’t in the menu. We were also placed at the same table with some other people and it was kind of cramped. The beer was nice, the staff were ok.

Modern and traditional brewery, rooms worth seeing, super cozy. We can't rate the food because we were only there for a beer. But the selection looked good.

Cool Friday at Zims We had dinner at Zims on Friday, which was very good. We sat at a table in the “vaulted cellar”. At 9:30 p.m. we got a notice that THE party would be right here from 10 p.m. ;-) 5 euros for a wristband and then we were off. Tables and chairs to the side...DJ with cool music and the dance floor was full. Great ;-))))

Nice brewery atmosphere with delicious food and friendly service (Simo). A stay to feel good. The dance floor in the basement rounds off a weekend visit! Small downside: With a really fair entrance fee of 5 euros per person. In my opinion, the cost of $3 per item of clothing for the dance floor is not entirely proportionate. But I would like to end on a positive note and would love to come back! ;)

From the reservation to the serving of the food, almost everything was great!. The volume was just so high that you could hardly have a conversation with other people at the table. This volume gave you more and more headaches. You can't and can't forbid anyone from having a conversation. However, I feel it at a humane volume

The Haksen here is so delicious. During this trip to Eastern Europe, I ate Haksen a total of 8 times, and I think it ranks 1st or 2nd. Be sure to order Haksen. The beer is also very delicious.

The service offered poor service and was more than unfriendly despite there being little activity. With a correspondingly low tip, this became very rude. Ambience OK.

Our company has been celebrating its annual Christmas party there for two years now, unfortunately only 1 waiter and 1 service staff were assigned for around 50 people. As a result, the waiter was of course overwhelmed at times, but otherwise, as always, a very nice evening.

We regularly come to Zims with a larger group (up to 20 people) before a carnival event. What is remarkable is that the food (very tasty and solid brewery cuisine) comes to the table for everyone at the same time and the service is also very attentive when it comes to serving drinks. We would love to come back!

Like all breweries, it's always very loud in Zims, so there's a point deducted for the ambience, even though I know it's not entirely fair. Food was good, unfortunately a little cold, but since it was very full we didn't want to complain. That would have taken too long for us. We ate the spit roast and the fried potatoes lukewarm. The service was very good, attentive, friendly and not intrusive. That's how I wish it, I felt like I was in good hands with her. We'd love to come back

The first time we had lunch at this restaurant, we were well served and wanted to eat the pork knuckle. The waiter who served us was kind and explained that it had run out. We ordered other dishes and the beer, which was good. We liked it so much that we decided to go back the next day to see if we could eat the pork knuckle. However, this time, we were very poorly served by the other waiter, who took a long time to serve us and, even though our table was the first to arrive, it was always the last to be served or to be served. The waiter clearly forgot the things we ordered and we had to ask again. In addition, he had no empathy whatsoever, as he did the other time when the waiter kindly explained to us that there was no more pork knuckle. It was just a simple “we don’t have any, what do you want?”. And in the end, I didn’t want to pay the 10% or any tip because I thought the service was much inferior or that I had the other time and it felt like he was doing me a favor by serving me. Then I hear him grumbling as if it were absurd that I wouldn't pay for something that is optional and should be related to the quality of his service. All the dishes and drinks were very good! It was this last bad experience that left us upset and with no desire to return.

We have a very pleasant time as a group of 19 people spent with you. The food was consistently good and tasty and the service perfect! Even a cell phone with cards that had been left on the table was brought to us after we left the table. Big praise and unconditional Recommendation in the brewery sector.

We had a great time in a chic atmosphere with delicious, sumptuous food (I had the knuckle, enough for three :-)) and a very friendly waitress. There was even a small present for the birthday child. Very nice - we liked it. We'll be back!

Delightful spot for lunch. We made reservation online to secure a spot as its during the New Year festive season. Food wasnt too bad, the restaurant is nicely renovated, very interesting. Service was a little slow and I'm attributing it to slightly understaffed during festive period. We paid in cash, there should be change, but the wait staff just said Alright, Thank You and helped herself to the change as tip? That bit was a little distasteful; all great otherwise.

A very busy restaurant but well worth a visit. This was my second year at the Christmas markets from England and my second visit here. The food is amazing washed down with small glasses of the local beer. I had the German sausage with fried potatoes and bacon. With a beer gravy. It was huge. My friend had the most tender pork with fried potatoes and bacon. And a beer gravy. The staff were very attentive, although rushed off their feet. I will definitely be coming back when I visit the Christmas markets in December.

We enjoyed the sauerbraten, roast beef and salad surprisingly well, considering that the food here is rather secondary. Better craftsmanship than home cooking: the sauerbraten was as tender as butter, the roast beef was as tender and also pink, the salad was well prepared and equally dressed. The Kölsch always came quickly enough and the Köbbes was as friendly as we've rarely seen in Cologne.

Everything was perfect and it was a lovely evening.

We were there for New Year's Eve dinner. The food was really very tasty. Everything very well organized. Paul, our hero, put us in a good mood and was really on the ball.

Mega disappointment. Waited a long time and the venison goulash with spaetzle that came for €28 was a real impudence. A huge plate with a mega wide rim and a tiny hollow with a handful of spaetzle and 5 (!!!!!) small pieces of meat. That wasn't even 100 g of meat. impudence. The Camembert was also only 0-8-15, and unfortunately the bread was hard. First and last time, that's for sure.

Last Saturday we had dinner here with 19 people. Unfortunately, the promising previous reviews did not materialize, even though the food itself was excellent. The service was abysmally bad. After serving the dishes, it turned out that 1 wrong dish had arrived, and the waiter said "then take this" and for 2 people the ordered dishes did not arrive at all. The waiter blamed us for not ordering it. While we still counted the dishes when ordering. After asking several times, it never came and when it finally came - without apologies and by yet another face - it (same dish) was also divided into 2 parts, which we had to ask for again. The waiter who was supposed to be at our table (which was not clear) didn't seem to care and was barely visible to us in one of the many rooms (not all of them cozy). I think it would be better to close spaces if you cannot provide the service that is necessary. Later in the evening there appeared to be another DJ downstairs. Our guests were flatly refused when they wanted to take a look (the DJ room was next to the toilet). When paying, the waiter in question asked whether a tip should be added. When I said "sorry, but no, the service was just not good", after payment had been approved, I couldn't even say good evening and he walked away angrily... there are better locations in Cologne, it's better to avoid these big food places. Shame

Generally, the place is geared towards mass visits and no one cares about a single person. I went a little further and got a good beer and pork knuckle without any problems...

Very raciest place and had a really bad experience with especially with the bodyguards there as without any explanation they asked as to leave just because we were not German.

Unfortunately we have to say that our visit to this store was a disappointing experience. The employee with the blonde, short hair was extremely unfriendly. As soon as we entered the store, he came up to us and asked in an aggressive tone: 'What is it?' We were completely surprised by this rude greeting - we had never been greeted like that before. The entire atmosphere was unpleasant and anything but welcoming. As if that wasn't enough, the waiter then said that they were supposed to be closing right away - at 9:20 p.m., even though it clearly states online that they are open until 12:00 a.m. We found this extremely unprofessional and disappointing. We definitely won't be coming back here!

Hello first of all I was at Zims today (1.1.25). My mother and I had the pepper cream schnitzel and a mushroom cream schnitzel The food was very tasty, but the pepper cream schnitzel had whole peppercorns in it which made the food very spicy The mushroom cream schnitzel was very tasty My brother also had metthapen 1 half rye roll with Mett for 5 euros VERY expensive For a small cup of cocoa 4 euros and for a glass of cola 3.50 euros, also very expensive The ambience was very nice, sometimes a bit noisy due to the other customers, which the operator can't do anything about The service was very friendly and the food arrived very quickly

A great traditional shop! Very friendly and bright staff and a great interior. Perfect for a few good Kölsch and a nice hearty snack, we'll be back!

We were there for dinner on 12/30/24. Very nice staff, always attentive and very empathetic. We both had schnitzel and kölsch tappas as a starter. We enjoyed it very much. The Gildenkölsch is highly recommended. A special thanks to our Köbes. Even though the brewery was very full, he was always friendly and in a good mood. We'll definitely be back! 5 stars!!!

Great food spot for a group with a booking - sadly they put us upstairs where we were the only people on the whole floor and so it felt like a quiet restaurant rather than a bustling beer house! Service was okay although felt rushed through as food service only
