We drank mulled wine there because the winter market at Heumarkt was closed on January 1st. The price of the mulled wine was the same as at the winter market (€5.00).

All 11 of us ordered different dishes; everything was served at the same time, was tasty, and the portions were adequate. The seating was a bit cramped and quite noisy.

The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent. We sat in the Adenauer Hall, which was very crowded and noisy. It's more pleasant to sit in the front section. But all in all, it was outstanding.

Overrated... It was very loud and very cramped... You should definitely reserve in advance, otherwise there's a wait. The service was friendly, but especially pushy when it came to a beer (sorry... Kölsch), which costs €2.60 for a 0.2-liter glass that doesn't even measure 0.2 liters. No semi-dry white wine available... only by the bottle. Food - well... I'm no gourmet, but I can definitely recognize a sauce from a packet for a Rhineland roast. I know it's in the city center... but that's not enough for a restaurant, and that's why we'll never go back.

The restaurant was packed and our server was super busy. Miranda very kindly took care of us once she noticed the service was lacking. She was very kind and she provided amazing service as a server. Whatever you asked for, she was providing in seconds. I will be going back for Miranda as my server.

Very friendly waiter. We had schnitzel with peppercorn sauce, it was delicious.

Miranda was our waitress and gave us excellent recommendations. She suggested we order a 500-gram sausage with a side dish and a soup to share, and it was more than enough if you don't eat a lot. The food quality is very good, the portions are just right, and the price is reasonable. Miranda also gave us some recommendations about the city and was very friendly. Definitely recommended.

Miranda served us very kindly, and we were so lucky she spoke Spanish! She explained everything and recommended the best dishes in the restaurant! She was so friendly and treated us like royalty! A cozy, busy restaurant. The food was really delicious and reasonably priced. The service was also fast, friendly, and efficient. All in all, an excellent experience.

Cold food. The meatloaf was cold, as were the fried potatoes! Super old, hard, stale fries. Oversalted, cold schnitzel. Disgusting! Mushroom sauce with no filling!! ...OK, 3 mushrooms. The worst part was, we almost evaporated. The waiter wouldn't bring me Kölsch. What's that then?? Not recommended. I'm used to better at other breweries.

Excellent service and beautiful food. Right nect to a Christmas Market. The local beer - Kölsch was delicious and the building is worth a visit in its own right.

In a prime location at Heumarkt, admittedly somewhat touristy, but thanks to a very nice, cozy atmosphere, good food and friendly service, it is definitely recommended.

We went to Gilden im Zims for a small Christmas party. We reserved a table for 2.5 hours on a weekday, which was sufficient. The food was good to very good. Portion sizes varied considerably depending on the dish. The sauerbraten was rather small, while the schnitzel was a large portion. The Kölsch beer wasn't served as quickly as one might expect from other breweries. Overall, 4-5 stars, and the price-performance ratio is reasonable.

Every year on Boxing Day, we enjoy a couple of Kölsch beers, or three or four...

We went to Zims for dinner again today after curling. Delicious, as always. I'd like to especially mention our waiter Emiliano. Friendly, kind, quick, and able to accommodate all our special requests with a smile and explanations. If only all waiters were like him!

A pre-Christmas visit. Without a table reservation, there would have been no chance of a comfortable meal there. Luckily, we knew that.

We had reserved a table for Boxing Day and had a truly lovely evening. A traditional brewery atmosphere and hearty, home-style cooking await you at Gilden im Zims. What we enjoyed most, however, was the cheerful and friendly manner of the waiter who attended our table. And the prices are absolutely reasonable. We'll be back.

They force you to tip. When the service doesn't deserve it, you don't tip. We won't be back.

This is our second time there, this time Miranda was helping us! She is so sweet and make us feel like it was our home and not a restaurant, people like her are what makes us want to go back to places like this.

We were sitting outside and had brought a waffle from somewhere else, which wouldn't have been a problem since we wanted to order four hot chocolates. Unfortunately, the man behind the counter simply turned us away without explanation and in a very unfriendly manner. No friendly tone, no understanding, no sense of service. That's no way to treat guests, even if they just want a drink. Very disappointing.

The service was unfortunately very slow. We constantly had to call the server for drinks, as no one came on their own. It took ages for our table to finally be cleared of dishes. The food itself was really good.

All the food was absolutely delicious! The ice cream was scrumptious, and Emiliano proved to be an exceptional host. While he was hopeless at arm wrestling, he more than made up for it with his service and attentiveness. I wholeheartedly recommend the magnificent meat morsels, both on and off the plate.

We stopped by for a hot aperol after the Christmas market last week. The atmosphere was great, a bit crowded, but that's to be expected before Christmas. Käthe was super nice – we'll be back! :)

Miranda did a great job even though she was not our waitress. She was very attentive and her German language skills were excellent! This place would get one star if it weren’t for her.

The female staff was incredibly friendly. Even though it was lunchtime, there were a lot of people eating inside, but we were guided to a quiet, back-of-house table, where we could enjoy our meal leisurely. I tried the haksen, which was said to be delicious. The portion was enough for two people, so I didn't order any other sides, but I was still full.

A fantastic German restaurant, the food was excellent. The pork knuckle (enough for two) was €27, the breaded meat was €19, and the sausage was €18. Everything was delicious, the atmosphere was great, but above all, I must highlight the service we received from Miranda. She was lovely, professional, and absolutely wonderful. We came back for dinner because of her excellent service. Thank you, Miranda, you're a gem.

Unfortunately, an extremely loud group of young men brazenly celebrated a bachelor party right next to our table. We had guests from abroad, and communication was very difficult because of the deafening noise. The guys should have fun, of course, but they're not the only ones in the world. I wish the server had intervened. There were more than 50 other guests. No one else behaved so badly. It was mainly one young man who acted as if he were the only one in the world. These men weren't teenagers who needed to be taught consideration. One person's freedom ends where the freedom of others is restricted.

Well, that was a delicious lunch at Zims. Reserving a table online in advance works perfectly. The Heumarkt parking garage is right outside, and the Christmas market adds to the festive atmosphere. Gilden im Zims is also decorated for Christmas. We really liked the decor. The waiters are very friendly and attentive. That was truly pleasant. We placed our order quickly, and the appetizers arrived shortly after. We ordered the lentil stew and the cream of Savoy cabbage soup. For our main courses, we had the Brussels sprout and potato gratin and the smoked duck breast on a bed of lamb's lettuce. Everything was delicious and plentiful. The prices are reasonable. We felt very comfortable, would gladly return, and highly recommend Gilden im Zims.

Everything was great, I'd gladly order again. The 250g sausage with fried potatoes was so good, I'm going to gain weight from that generous portion.

At the entrance, a sign read "Please wait here," OK! You look directly at a counter, where a completely bored-looking waiter (how is that even possible?) is standing. I nod to him politely, point to the sign, the waiter nods back, so I go in. He then starts yelling at me, telling me to go back and wait. Personally, I would have preferred to just leave. But okay, I wasn't alone! Eventually, a very friendly receptionist came and showed us to a table on the first floor. The waiter who served our table was also super quick, super friendly, and almost a bit overeager. He explained the menu to us and immediately informed us what was out of stock. (9/10 everything with pumpkin) The drinks arrived super fast! The food didn't take long either. I only had goulash soup and thought it was really good, some really nice big pieces of meat, really tender, not just the flimsy bits you sometimes get elsewhere. I can definitely recommend it. My companion ordered the Savoy cabbage roll. The cabbage was overcooked, and the sauce tasted like a ready-made product, according to her. So, personally, I won't be coming back, but I still want to thank "our" wonderful waiter again; he was simply fantastic despite the stress and the large number of guests!

Very nice hotel, five stars would be too much as the air conditioning didn't work and the rooms were freezing cold. You were given a space heater at reception, but it was very loud if you wanted to watch TV. Breakfast was very good, lunch was okay. The staff was very friendly. Because many conferences and meetings take place at the hotel, there were some queues at the women's restrooms during breaks, as only 3 out of 6 cubicles were open.

We were here as a large group. I had the roast pork. It was delicious. Large portions. We all enjoyed it. They also have a few vegan options. The lady was very friendly. It's true that breweries are a bit noisy. You either like it or you don't.

The Sunday brunch is absolutely fantastic!! The value for money is unbeatable. Breakfast is served at your table, and you can order any additional items as you like – all included in the price. The same applies to the main courses: you first choose from a selection of hot dishes and can order several main courses one after the other. Then there's dessert – all included in the price, no matter how much you order. Only the drinks – apart from coffee – are extra. It's truly amazing for the price. The atmosphere is great, and the service was okay. Not overly friendly, but there were no long waits, and they always proactively asked if we needed anything else.

We discovered it by chance – a proper pub in the city center – and we were thrilled: from the moment we entered to the bill... It was simply fantastic!

We manage to secure a spot during the Christmas fair weeek. Sevice and food was exceptional, few places in Köln where I've had delicious food with a traditional twist. Love it and will come again for sure. We were too hungry to take pictures beforehand.

We usually sit outside at the high tables. The waiters are always friendly and speak the classic Beauhaus slang fluently. We especially like Chris. He always brings our beers faster than we can finish the last one, and that's how it should be. So we've been going to Zims for years and love it.

We ended our civil wedding ceremony at Gilden with a delicious meal. Everyone was thrilled with the quality of the food, whether it was steak or schnitzel. We received a small gift and were very happy with our choice to celebrate at Gilden. Overall, we always enjoy coming to Gilden because, for me, it's simply one of the best breweries in Cologne.

Our visit to Gilden im Zims was unfortunately very disappointing. Even before we were allowed to enter, we were greeted with sweeping comments about "what people like us are supposedly like." These statements clearly came across as exclusionary—a moment that made us feel like we were being treated differently because of our appearance. Although we were subsequently allowed in for two drinks, this was accompanied by the recommendation to avoid certain areas and music so as not to "scare" anyone. To us, this had a distinctly racist undertone and showed no sign of a welcoming atmosphere. Instead of a relaxing evening, we were left with the oppressive feeling of having been perceived not as guests, but as a problem. A real shame.

Highly recommended. The service is efficient and friendly.

Zims is always worth a visit! Yesterday, though, the seating was too cramped and it was incredibly loud! The food tasted good, although the potato pancakes were much too thick. We'll come again today before heading back home to Munich!
