Gilden im Zims “Heimat kölscher Helden” in Köln

Very friendly service. Good price/quality ratio. Definitely recommended to get acquainted with the Kölsche brauhaus culture!

This is our third time in Cologne and also our third time at the Gilden in Zims. The service is typically Cologne-style and friendly. The food is, like the last two times, very good. When I look at the fried potatoes, I am always amazed at how much they taste. Since we were sitting in a corner, the Kölsch wasn't exchanged as quickly as we were used to from the two previous visits. The food we ordered, however, came extremely quickly despite it being lunchtime. Sol efficiency is rare. We'd love to come back. :)

At Gilden im Zims in Cologne, I had the chance to try a traditional Kartoffelsuppe Altstädter, a rich potato soup. It was hearty and satisfying, but for me, Polish zalewajka still takes the top spot. For my main course, I went with Himmel un Äad, a local dish featuring fried blood sausage, mashed potatoes, apple sauce, and braised onions. The balance of flavours was incredible - salty, sweet, and earthy all in one plate. Definitely a must-try for anyone seeking authentic German cuisine!

Humanly speaking, the Haksen here is delicious. I went here after wandering around all day and the beer was delicious. There seems to be a clear difference Don't go to a weird restaurant, go here ^^ read vertically

Large selection of dishes, only a short waiting time for the food to be served. Food very tasty and service attentive and friendly. Apart from the fact that it was very loud due to the many guests, there is nothing to criticize.

We were there with a group of 25 employees. Overall it was ok. Unfortunately, there were a few points that were very disappointing at first, e.g. we couldn't use the room we had reserved because, according to the brewery, there weren't enough waiters (sickness absence?) We had already ordered the food well in advance, but the accompanying side salad was missing, which we only noticed the following day. Otherwise we definitely have praise for the chef, the food tasted very good (even without the side salad :))

On a Tuesday evening the restaurant is packed, but the service was very friendly and had a smile for the guests.

The food was very good, I had roast suckling pig which was sensational. The price was also great. All in all we had a lovely evening.

Carnival in Zims. Legendary. Was there at the dance in the Old Women's Carnival. Great location, great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

The atmosphere was great, people from all over the world were guests. The food was totally bad. I had a grill plate with pork steak, chicken steak, roast beef and fried potatoes. The beef was like the sole of a shoe, you just couldn't chew it. You just get mass-produced goods there at a price that is far too high. It's a good place to drink a beer as a lot of tourists come there, but you should look for something else to eat.

First dinner in Cologne was delicious. We had the schnitzel with mushroom sauce. It was absolutely incredible. Super flavorful. We also split a brat which was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing! If I am ever in Cologne again, will definitely come back here. The Kölsch style beer is also so great. I love the 200ml glasses!

Extremely delicious. Great food. Huge meat dishes. Knuckle, schnitzel, ... are really big! There is also a large selection for the Pänz. You can see history in the basement. You can also have a good party there.

Great brewery in Cologne – large, modern, and cozy This brewery in Cologne is so huge that it's easy to get lost in the lower level. Despite its spaciousness, it's modern and stylishly decorated, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The friendly waiters, who provide attentive and friendly service, deserve special mention. The cozy ambiance also invites you to linger. A perfect place to enjoy good beer and spend a relaxing time!

A rare 5-star from me. Very central location, great traditional atmosphere, ultra delicious food, good Kölsch beer. A tad pricy for my Eastern European standard but hey, I expected it to be a lot more expensive.

Went here a while ago and ate with a large group. The food was excellent and the service was good and very accommodating. Unfortunately it was a bit noisy, but otherwise the inn has a great interior!

It was Carnival and the restaurant was fully booked. The service had its hands full, but was available to all guests. Our group of 8 people enjoyed the food.

Very centrally located Wortshaus on the Heumarkt in Cologne. Service was very nice and attentive. Food was great and freshly prepared and everything came promptly so that everyone could eat at the same time. Otherwise, the restaurant is very large and there are other rooms. Overall everything was great and delicious.

Nicely done, everything on the table. No way to the buffet. Was pleasant. Unfortunately, the breakfast selection only met our taste to a limited extent. Cooked ham according to the menu was replaced by a kind of ham sausage (meat sausage with pieces in it), which we don't like. We don't like Flönz (blood sausage). We don't like sausages with scrambled eggs. There was also bacon, but not enough. We don't like salami that much...salmon wasn't enough. Everything was fresh and well presented, but just not quite to our taste. The lunch portion was good. The portion was good for me, the men were still hungry afterwards. Should have eaten more at breakfast...😂😂😂 Our Köbes was great. Unfortunately the air conditioning was running and there was a really noticeable draft. It was pointed out several times that this was very unpleasant, but no remedy was found. I had to put on my jacket, others later wore a scarf or stole. Ventilation and temperature were ok, but the strength of the draft urgently needed to be reduced. Conclusion: The price-performance ratio is right, service is great, nice atmosphere. There is always room for improvement. We'll definitely do it again. 🙂

Nice brewery with delicious food. There's a lot going on, especially on weekends, so it's definitely worth making a reservation. On Fridays from 10 a.m. there is a “Cologne Party” in the basement, so you can party straight from the meal.

Unfortunately our visit to this restaurant was a huge disappointment. Although the kitchen overall wasn't that bad and the dishes tasted good, the service was absolutely disastrous. We had to wait an extremely long time for the beer to be brought to us - even after politely asking several times. It seemed like the staff completely ignored us. This simply shouldn't happen in a restaurant. It's a shame, because the food actually had potential, but the miserable service completely ruined the overall impression.

I have to wait 20 minutes for 200ml of beer. No, you have no other choice. Only 0.2 And waiter said that's my problem. Very unfriendly. Food doesn't taste good without beer. P.S. Restaurant was about 40% full, but security guards have to check if there are free seats.

It was the most delicious meal I've had since coming to Europe! I was especially impressed by how delicious the traditional German dish Himmel und Aade was! You should definitely go

The first recession was not published. Why is a mystery to me. Maybe because it's negative? But that doesn't make it any better. Food good service too In the evening there is an additional cost of €5 for paying guests if you want to stand in the cellar. Ribbons are also only available outside. Whoever is inside has to get out. I don't go there anymore.

Really enjoyed trying a bit of everything. The mushroom cream for the schnitzel was perfect. A must get is the fried camenbert!

Were here with a small group. You can sit comfortably here. We were served quickly and the staff is very friendly. Everyone enjoyed the food. Among other things, pepper schnitzel, grilled plates and liver were ordered.

We tasted the knuckle, well, what can I say, it is tastier near Kaofland. Just ordinary without the word wow, ordinary. Beer is national, you can drink it like water. But I was more surprised that you have to pay when you go to the toilet and only in cash, it was insulting to me. But we liked the waiter, he was cheerful, friendly and never forgot about us))

Large restaurant, 2 floors. Food good, service does what it can with such a mass rush of tourists. It's just mass production. Not so for me. The ambience and coziness suffer greatly as a result.

The Schweinhaksen here is really delicious. I've eaten Schweinhaxen about 3 times in Germany, and this restaurant is the most delicious. The outer skin is crispy enough to eat, and the inside is really moist. The staff was also friendly and nice. Actually, I went around May 24, and while reminiscing, I suddenly remembered it and came back with a review dollar. I said I know the reviews well, but I'm leaving a review because I want people to eat delicious Haksen while they're in Germany🥹 But personally, I thought the black sausage was a little salty haha.

The Zims pan was cold and was replaced after a complaint. The food arrived warm, but the meat was so dry that it was not edible. It's a shame, actually a nice place

Very loud place. Here you don't have an air conditioner, so it smells food everywhere and in the evening it's just too bad air. Food is okay.

On three levels, space for an estimated HUNDREDS of guests. “Kölsche Karte”, delicious Guild Kölsch. Service was on point, food was very tasty. "Adenauer on the walls... Great ambience! I visitee this place twice. The first time it was wonderfull and I would rate it 5 starts - great location, tasty food, variety of options and local specialties, very friendly service. The second time I came back based on previous good experience, friendly waiter at the front showed us where to sit and then a very unfriendly lady literary started shouting at me in German. I answered in English that her colleague told us to sit there. She wanted us to move to a smaller table. Which is fine, we were only 2. However, the way she told us was not fine,shouting is not needed and not expected in a touristy place like this. Hence, 3 stars as an average of 2 experiences. Too bad, the place is great and has more options than any other restaurant at Old market, but after this experience I will not come back.

Olaf is the greatest waiter. The history of the place, the food and all the experience was so Great. We had Gluten Free Food. All was incredible. Came back for lunch the next day.

Modern and traditional brewery, rooms worth seeing, super cozy. We can't rate the food because we were only there for a beer. But the selection looked good.

The place has a lot of history so it’s worth a visit. I have some dietary restrictions and I ordered something that had ingredients that weren’t in the menu. We were also placed at the same table with some other people and it was kind of cramped. The beer was nice, the staff were ok.

Cool Friday at Zims We had dinner at Zims on Friday, which was very good. We sat at a table in the “vaulted cellar”. At 9:30 p.m. we got a notice that THE party would be right here from 10 p.m. ;-) 5 euros for a wristband and then we were off. Tables and chairs to the side...DJ with cool music and the dance floor was full. Great ;-))))

From the reservation to the serving of the food, almost everything was great!. The volume was just so high that you could hardly have a conversation with other people at the table. This volume gave you more and more headaches. You can't and can't forbid anyone from having a conversation. However, I feel it at a humane volume

Nice brewery atmosphere with delicious food and friendly service (Simo). A stay to feel good. The dance floor in the basement rounds off a weekend visit! Small downside: With a really fair entrance fee of 5 euros per person. In my opinion, the cost of $3 per item of clothing for the dance floor is not entirely proportionate. But I would like to end on a positive note and would love to come back! ;)

The Haksen here is so delicious. During this trip to Eastern Europe, I ate Haksen a total of 8 times, and I think it ranks 1st or 2nd. Be sure to order Haksen. The beer is also very delicious.

Our company has been celebrating its annual Christmas party there for two years now, unfortunately only 1 waiter and 1 service staff were assigned for around 50 people. As a result, the waiter was of course overwhelmed at times, but otherwise, as always, a very nice evening.
