Klein gezellig restaurantje. Als de beoordelingen niet zo goed waren hadden we dit restaurant niet uitgekozen, want het ziet er niet echt heel aantrekkelijk uit aan de buitenkant. De sfeer is gemoedelijk en het eten is prima.

Too little, too expensive, not really tasty...

The food was not good and the wurst was not cooked at all. The smell was bad and patatoes were sour. And the worst part was that I did not eat the meal and I paid full price.

Schnitzel and potatoes was very small for 22 euros! You get twice the size for the same price at many other places. Taste was good, but portion size very dissapointing. Three hungry boys after visiting. The music was rather obnoxious and did not fit the place. Staff was friendly though.

I ordered a hamburger and unfortunately there were some vegetables with the meal and it wasn't washed properly and there was a stone in the food which caused me to break my tooth. He was nice and friendly and apologized on behalf of the chef, but all of the chef's negligence and inattention was disturbing.

First restaurant I visited in Köln at around 11:30 and there were not many people. Very welcoming and warm local atmosphere, with beautiful interior. I had a lugguage with me and they had no problem with that. The server was very nice and gentle with good service and is a good english speaker. The food was great. I am willing to visit again with my friend.

When you go to Cologne, it is a family atmosphere where you can both relax and dine with great taste. They don't just help you, they are friendly and welcoming.

Described as a "quaint restaurant", it was more of a medium pub level. Rap music was playing, which matched the nationality of the service staff (super polite, quick and courteous) but didn't fit the ambience AT ALL. The food was tasty and home-style in decent portions but as I said, the ambience can still be improved.

We had an unexpected WOOOOOW effect in "Grandma's Kitchen" that I really didn't expect. We were shopping in Cologne and our appetite for something "real", coupled with the fact that we happened to walk past this cozy restaurant, fortunately led us there. The dining room isn't particularly big, but that's exactly what gives you the feeling of visiting grandma - the loving furniture, the decoration, the narrowness and the whole atmosphere are simply rustic. We had a WONDERFUL meal there - I had the best vegetable stir-fry, which made me sooooo happy because I just wasn't expecting such a taste experience. The vegetables were AMAZING and deserve more than 5 stars. Since I was sitting with my back to the kitchen, it wasn't until the end that I noticed that the kitchen was really tiny. It's a mystery to me how so many different dishes can be prepared there and that's why the young chef's performance deserves the fullest attention because he prepares the dishes perfectly, presents them very nicely and they arrive very warm to the guest!!! I just couldn't help but thank the chef for his outstanding job and also give him a tip. Dear team, even though you are all quite young, you know how to give us guests the feeling that grandma invited us to dinner. HEART LOVED! And when we come to Cologne again, we'll see each other again - promise <3

Tourist trap. The restaurant is located in the middle of Cologne's pedestrian zone. We were served quite quickly, the food took a while to arrive and was very disappointed when it arrived. It didn't even come close to matching the pictures on the map. I ordered “Grandma’s Burger”. The burger was obviously made from the cheapest ingredients that can be purchased commercially. This was particularly easy to see in the bun and the sauce. Next to it was a sparse portion of fried potatoes. Given the hefty price of just under €19 for such a bad burger and the manageable portion of fried potatoes, my money would definitely have been better spent in another restaurant. In my opinion, the restaurant is not recommended.

Nice service and delicious food. The food was freshly prepared. Very tasty schnitzel and very good fried potatoes.

Great ambience. Had to wait 10 minutes to be served. I ordered matjes with fried potatoes, the food arrived quickly, but the fried potatoes were cold. After complaining, the plate was taken to the kitchen, and a short time later I had lukewarm fried potatoes drowned in fat. The salad and herring had been delicious, but the fried potatoes had been inedible. Once and never again.

At first glance, the restaurant appears cozy and quaint, but upon closer inspection, it appears worn and unkempt. The toilets are unbearable for a restaurant. The food, yes, that's a matter of luck. Some dishes are OK, others are really bad. We had several dishes and everything was from ok to not good at all. The prices are completely unreasonable. Neither the quality nor the quantity nor the ambience match the prices. The second star is only given because the employees were at least nice.

Super nice employees with a good mood Food was quite questionable after, for example, I ordered a schnitzel with a very watery sauce. The taste wasn't even close to good, so no one ate the plate. After I went to the toilet, it was nice that a little mouse accompanied me out. Apart from the fact that the employees are very nice, no one could contribute anything else positive to the stay. A friendly donation for the service was automatically included, even though we weren't even asked > after we were surprised about the amount, someone specifically asked why we had to pay €10+ more. We had Turkey Putenschnitzel with mushroom sauce. The portion was generous and the food came with salad. The food was good but taste of one of the spices was overshadowing the others but not sure what it was, it felt like tumeric to us which some might like it this way.

When we arrived we were greeted warmly and given a seat. After 5 minutes the waiter came and took our drinks and ran away. 2 minutes later another waiter came and wanted to take our drinks again. So there's a bit of chaos here. Because the same thing happened to the guests next to us. We adults each ordered a schnitzel with fried potatoes and salad and the children each ordered a schnitzel without side dishes and one with fried potatoes. The food arrived warm, but apart from the schnitzel, the rest was inedible. Fried potatoes were full of fat and not crispy at all and the salad just didn't work at all... the sauce tasted like feet that had fallen asleep. The schnitzel wasn't crispy either but you could eat it. When the waiter asked if it tasted good, I said no, not really. He didn't react at all and just ran away. Likewise the lady who cashed us at the end. What I thought was nice was that they had moved the parasol for us so that the sun was shining directly into my eyes. The restaurant could be much more than it is. A little more effort and the recession would look different. Unfortunately, the ambience outside looked rather sad.. different chairs, tables and parasols everywhere.. rather uninviting

Very tasty, but three potato pancakes for 16€... The portions should be larger in order to maintain the title "Grandma".

The best thing first, the ambience, nice old Cologne style inside. Unfortunately that was the only good thing, the food was far too small and totally overpriced for the price and overly greasy, tasteless and it had a slight touch of microwave potatoes. The waiters were rather stupid, but all in all, not recommended

We got the food at mismatching timings, so that one person had already finished their food before the other had even gotten them. But the food itself was disappointing aswell way too fatty.

The service is ok, but a bit slow. Unfortunately the food is very bad. The schnitzel is just warmed up, as are the fried potatoes, which are partly cold and have probably never come into contact with salt or pepper. The curry sauce from the currywurst tastes like tomato and is completely unsalted. The salad is the only thing that tastes remotely good, which doesn't mean anything good. The €19.90 schnitzel with side dishes consists of 50% potatoes, 20% salad and only 30% schnitzel. In general, the prices are very high for at least 50% side dish for every dish. The ambience is very nice at first glance, but is quickly destroyed by a massive, probably Ki-generated image on the wall.

A direct and friendly greeting from the waiter. Really fantastic food and really good Kölsch. For me as a Hamburger, Kölsch is always a thing, but it was really good. The cheese spaetzle, currywurst and schnitzel were on point and the fried potatoes were also brilliant. Prices are really fair, especially for the location. I would have expected higher prices here. Really can only be recommended, it wasn't the last time we were here.

Amazing food and lovely service! Had the Currywurst and the Bratwurst, with a long island ice tea. Really enjoyable dinner, tucked away from the hustle of the main streets. The decor could use an update to improve the comfort of the chairs.

The food was great, homemade schnitzel and breaded, fresh vegetables for the salad and the fried potatoes. We sat comfortably on the “terrace” (in front of the restaurant), were served immediately and the waiters were all very accommodating.

What can I say? Or where do I start? Before I sat down, I went to the toilet. The toilet is tattered, it smells so bad of ammonia (old urine) and you walk past rubbish and a warehouse that is open. Normally we should have gone straight on. If the toilets aren't clean, the rest of the toilets aren't clean either. There is no chef working there. Fried potatoes from a bag, absolutely inedible ready-made sauce with mushrooms from a jar. The salad dressing also comes from a bottle. So the mushroom cream schnitzel was inedible, which is what I told them. Then I didn't have to pay for it. The rest, tarte flambée and pizza, was ok, but nothing more. For the price I expect better food. Never again.

Demanding 2 euros from guests to use the toilet is really audacious.

I definitely don't recommend it. The staff made a mistake, served us the wrong dish, and then made grimaces when we asked for a replacement. Food too salty. The toilet is underground, very dark and warm. Prices are high for the quality of the meal.

What a lovely little snack bar, breakfast was delicious. Grandma has something really nice there

In het op veel punten veel te dure Keulen een prima restaurant met een goede prijs/kwaliteits verhouding. Eenvoudige smaakvolle gerechten. De gebakken aardappeltjes zijn heerlijk. Super vriendelijk personeel, de mogelijkheid om te reserveren en lekker tapbier. Wij vonden het een verademing!

The drinks and food came quickly. The tarte flambée was very good. Some of the chairs outside are a bit uncomfortable, but otherwise highly recommended.

It was in a somewhat more quiet side street next to some construction but it was very comfy! The Flamkuchen were really good!

The food was delicious, I was hoping to try Oma’s Potato Salad, but it was not an item on the menu.

Not recommended!! You have to pay 2 euros for children to use the toilet! Definitely not customer focused

We had currywurst 4 times and were totally hungry. But that wasn't enough to eat this meal. The promised currywurst turned out to be a wobbly bratwurst with tomato sauce and the fried potatoes that came with it had only seen a stove for at most half a minute in their miserable life. When the waiter complained, they responded with the statement “Most people like it that way” and offered a 0.2 beer to compensate for a meal of 14 euros. As we were leaving, the words “See you tomorrow” were shouted at us. Once and never again!!!

We had dinner here at the first destination of our Germany trip, was very happy to start with all the German specialities: currywurst, flammkuchen and mezzo mix. The staff was welcoming and friendly, the space was very cozy, the food was good and the price was cheap for the location which was 5min walk from the Dom Cathedral. 5 stars for being a dog-friendly restaurant. Absolutely will come back next time we visit Koln

Well, I don't want to judge the quality and taste of the food. Everyone has different tastes. The staff is probably new as the owner recently changed and is therefore sometimes overwhelmed. Portions not very large (applies to Himmel and Äd). 0.2 liters of Kölsch for €2.60 is an outrage. First and last time there, unfortunately!

Truly Grandma's kitchen, Reibekuchen had it. Dishes on other tables also fine. Little hidden gem.

Potato pancakes (reibekuchen) are delicious! The portion size is the smallest and most expensive in Cologne, but... it's soft, chewy, seasoned just right, and delicious!! The advantage is that they sell it every day, compared to other nearby restaurants where you have to go on different dates... I only ate sausages, but for the most part, it was delicious and not overly salty :) Oh, and at the end, I asked for a tip... I paid 10%.

We’ve ordered two schnitzels, pork and turkey. Both of them tasted as of frozen one from Kaufland cocked in a frituur. Schnitzels were served with brand kartoffel which also was cold and tasted awful. In addition to dish there were veggies, nothing bad or good about them. This dish cost insane 19.80euros per person. It’s definitely not worth your money and time. For the same price in a restaurant you will get much better schnitzels, bigger salad plate and tasty potatoes. I’m sorry that I didn’t make pictures of food we get. This place is a fast food cafeteria with prices of a restaurant, insane. Our bad to go there, just seeing amount of reviews and total score of 4.0. Believe bad reviews, they are true.

Good food, service not too fast.

We found this place on GMaps and thought to try it since it's right by the Dom. Food is ok, decent service with outdoor seating. Expansive menu in English and the waitress spoke fluent English. We had the souppe of the day (goulash), schnitzel and Omas burger. Food was so so and the soup was not good, over priced. Overall, a decent place to drop if you're hungry with kids in tow by the Koln Cathedral.

If you are hungry, please don't come here. It takes 20 minutes to get something to drink and over an hour for the food to arrive

Essen war teils sehr gut, teils gar nicht, die Schnitzel waren völlig zäh. Das Bier war leider auch zu keinem Zeitpunkt kalt. Das Personal mit der Menge Gäste überfordert.

A fantastic venue for our pre football game experience. The venue understood the hectic nature of the Euro 2024 and worked tirelessly to serve the tables and hungry and thirsty fans. They rolled out a massive TV to keep people there watching the games if they couldn't go to a match. The food was great, I had Currywurst mit Karoffeln (potatoes) delicious. Beer was great and rarely in short supply. Happy staff given the immense demand placed on them. If I'm back in Köln I will happily revisit but probably slightly more sober.

Disgusting service. Wanned to eat something and first went to visit a toilet, and this is litteraly first thing the staff meets me with "you are not a guest! You have to pay 2 euros". Payed 2 euros and went across the street to eat, not willing to be near this place ever again.

Saw this little quant place and thought we would have a quick beer. The people seemed lovely and the menu prices seemed very reasonable, so we thought we'd have a meal here. What a disappointment it turned out to be. I ordered the meatloaf and got a different meal altogether, what I didn't actually mind as it was OK. On ordering a bottle of wine as the bill will show we were charged 42 euros for a chardonnay not a pinot gregio what is 6 euro in the local supermarket.. come on 42 euro in a small side st cafe? On top of this we were hit with a tax of 13.70 euro what wasn't mentioned at all. I thought these people were genuine, I was wrong. Be careful with this pavement café please .

4 of us went to eat, we saw that the rating was not very good but we decided to give it a try. The atmosphere, service and food were pitiful. I ordered a salad with tuna, artichokes, olives, onion, tomato and lettuce. They took me out without artichokes and olives, I told the waiter about the carelessness they had and he told me that they would take me out. In the end they didn't take anything from us and they charged me the same; a little lettuce, tomato, onion and a can of tuna for €18.50. Regrettable.

I actually wanted to eat something completely different, but then I decided on a burger. What I thought was really great... They don't offer fries there, but they made extra fries for me from fresh potatoes that tasted really good 😍 Service is really important there 👌 Thank you very much for that 😊

The food was terrible... Simply outrageous for the price.. we ended up paying over €60 for two meals and two drinks.. at the end you are asked whether you tip 5% or 10%... In my opinion that should only happen voluntarily.. and not that the waiters ask you if you give a tip.. in the end I went to the toilet again and that was the end of it for me, just totally disgusting... That smell and flies everywhere.. after that I was disgusted and didn't even eat anything there to have.. NEVER AGAIN 🤢

The food was really nothing Are a couple with 2 children. 2 cups of goulash soup (with dirty old bread) no taste at all. 1 hamburger 1 small ice cream for the youngest 1 glass of coke 1 coffee That cost 63,- Just way too much for what you get. And the toilets just dirty and old, Can't imagine anyone giving this 5 stars. The dirty gunk runs down the stairwell and is just gross. Never again for us

So we were in grandma's kitchen, the shop is a bit thrown together! We ordered 3 salmon pizzas and one spaetzle, the waitress first passed something on to the kitchen incorrectly on one of our pizzas, there shouldn't be ruccola and oregano on a pizza, pizzas came quickly, our friend's spaetzle were delicious and that Pizza too but unfortunately all 3 with ruccola but our friend got a new pizza relatively quickly so you didn't just take the ruccola down and then give it to him it was completely remade! So the food was good, but what I didn't like at all was that our second waitress, a gentleman (and a younger waitress who didn't smell of alcohol but she only ate her Rollo in the dining room) smelled of alcohol and he put a Rollo in the checkout In the truest sense of the word he pushed it in where he then filled the cash register with alcohol and wiped it off with a napkin! You ask yourself why he doesn't eat it in the back but right next to paying customers! Did he not like the food or was there something wrong? It was very strange! The knives for the pizza were so blunt that you could take them with you to Hamburg! So in conclusion, it was tasty but the shop needs improvement and the male waitress shouldn't drink and eat like a piglet while working, that was totally unpleasant!

I think with my experience in evaluating local snack bars and restaurants I can definitely say that. The waitress was busy with everything but little with the customer. Who doesn't!!! If you're very hungry, you'll get great fried potatoes that are exactly how you imagine them to be.

Ate Potato Pancakes (Reibekuchen) with traditional apple sauce.. As a main course, I found it so small, it's crazy! The slice of bread and the pancakes were paper thin! The butter on the bread was thicker than the actual bread. I'm highly disappointed with the food. Beer was OK, service and atmosphere were great but I wouldn't recommend these pancakes if you are hungry, waste of money.

Overpriced shop. Mediocre food with no particularity in taste. The space is cramped and decadent without inspiration. Abuse of German cuisine, touristy in a bad sense. Pity!

I can't recommend eating there. A disaster in terms of taste, unfortunately I didn't receive the order I placed. It's more like a very bad canteen meal. Prices are also way too much for what you get. Salad was very small and only iceberg lettuce with corn, the sauce had hardly any taste. Unfortunately potatoes are very wobbly and soft. Meat hardly edible. The waiter didn't agree with the price despite my complaint. Never again.

Overall only 3 stars, maybe I had bad timing.

Generally a nice restaurant. Unfortunately, tarte flambée with cheese was very greasy. Schnitzel very tasty but expensive for the portion. Unfortunately Mochito has nothing to do with a Mochito!
