Servus Colonia Alpina in Köln

Nice place with cute 'wintersportlike' decor. Food was good and service friendly. Really liked the Kasesuppe.

We were in Cologne for a short break and stopped at Servus. We really liked the atmosphere, but we can't recommend the food. My wife's rump steak was extremely sinewy and almost impossible to cut, more like a neck steak.

It's always a wonderful experience at Servus. The food is delicious, and the staff is incredibly friendly and competent! I'll definitely be back!

Unfortunately, the food was anything but good. The sauces weren't homemade, just Knorr or something similar, almost tasteless. The suckling pig roast was a pre-made product of very poor quality. The dumplings were okay, but the sauerkraut wasn't great. In short: I'll only go there for a beer in the summer, as the atmosphere is nice, but that's it.

Hands down the best food we had whilst staying in Cologne! The venue itself was busy and lively but was not overly loud! A great overall atmosphere. The service was efficient as you would expect. The food was delicious, cooked to perfection and very reasonably priced. German beer….what more could you ask for :-) We tried to book a table for the next night as it was that good but was disappointed to find that it was fully booked…..which didn’t come a as huge surprise. We would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

The service was always good. But how is it possible that the Käsespätzle and Bolognese were already sold out by 6 pm? The complimentary schnapps tasted watered down. What a shame. The restaurant has so much potential.

We were a group of 14 people and had brunch in the hunting lodge room. The table was well set and the buffet was constantly replenished. Our personal waiter, Claus, was very friendly and provided excellent service. We felt very comfortable. 👍🏻🫶🏼

Certainly the dish was local and not everyone can like it, but you cannot get it wrong with the mash potatoes. It seems possible. Then it took 20 min to get a piece of butter and another 20 to get a beer. Kathe said she is just a human when I asked the bill twice . It was very promising seeing so many people inside. Expectations were high. But it was the worst experience lately. I am sorry

We had a wonderful day with you. However, we were offered ice cream along with the Kaiserschmarrn (a type of Austrian dumpling), but it wasn't mentioned that this would be extra. Also, it would have been nice if the cups and coffee pots had been cleared away a bit more often. But we were okay with that. The waiters were friendly, funny, and very attentive, always asking if we needed anything else. We had the hunting lodge room with a larger group, which I highly recommend for such occasions. We'll definitely be back.

Claus provided us with excellent service... the hunting lodge room offers a fantastic atmosphere for a group of up to 11 people.

Super friendly staff and very delicious, authentic food.

I had the Obazda with a pretzel and the vegan Bolognese with pasta. The Obazda was okay, but the pretzel was pretty tasteless. The Bolognese wasn't anything special and was under-seasoned; I can do better! The service staff seemed a bit overwhelmed at first (we were a group of 18), but they recovered relatively quickly. As a vegetarian, I probably won't go there again. They also had lentil soup and Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle), which kept the selection quite limited, and for the rather unremarkable food, even though it was nicely presented, it was also a bit too expensive.

First time there for brunch, and definitely not the last. The atmosphere is lovely, and the tables are already beautifully set. The food is excellent, and the service is very attentive.

We were there with a large group. Unfortunately, the food didn't arrive at the same time, and some people even received their appetizers after their main courses. The food was very tasty, but quite expensive. The portions were really small on some plates. However, the staff, service, and atmosphere were very, very good. A nice choice for a Christmas dinner. The limited time slot of 2.75 hours was perfectly fine. We had plenty of time to eat, and the bill was settled promptly without any rush.

Anyone who loves the mountains and Austria will love Servus Colonia. Great food, amazing service (thanks Dado) and a fantastic atmosphere.

Dado was a great server! When we first got to the restaurant they were really full and were not accepting any more people for the waiting list. We walked around for a bit and then came back, and I’m very happy we did. The food was great and the service even better! They even give you a complimentary hazelnut shot at the end.

It was full house inside but staff offered an outdoor table which was fine save for the inhalation of 2nd hand smoke from the stream of non-stop smokers standing around :( Nonetheless, the food was good, tasty and service excellent. A must try for those who want to try German food. The platter of meat for 2 persons was more than enough to feed 4 pax.

A lovely, quaint pub in the center of Cologne. The service is excellent! Friendly and fast. That means no empty beer mugs. The food is good and hearty.

We wanted to drink something here, it was around 15:30. When we came in someone showed us a direction we could walk to take a seat. We went to sit at a table and a server came to our table. When I told her we just wanted to drink something she said that was not possible when sitting at a table, we needed to eat something aswell. She pointed at a wooden couch we should sit for just drinking, but there were no empty spaces, so I told her that was not possible. She gave no option to drink something so I told her we would leave and go somewhere else. Sad to leave because it looked very cosy. There were many empty tables so we did not see the problem of us sitting there. Also I am 8 months pregnant so it would have been nice of them to just let us drink something.. Will never come here again.

The ambiance is 6 stars. Prices are a bit high, as expected for the location. There's no bar. The food is delicious and arrives quickly. The fries are served in a small fryer basket, which limits the portion size. A few more would have been nice. The beer served in a stoneware mug is simply delightful. Definitely not my last visit! 👌🏻

Highly recommended restaurant at Heumarkt in Cologne. Excellent food quality and friendly, professional service. Unfortunately, some tables are quite small and uncomfortable. Otherwise, highly recommended.

A successful evening with very good food.

Located right on Heumarkt, and you can tell by the prices. A 12cm Mettwurst (a type of German sausage) for only €5.90, a small cheese soup for €6.90, etc. Outrageous. The staff was overwhelmed with orders. A shame, as the atmosphere should be conducive to celebrations. I'll try again next year outside of the Christmas season.

A truly remarkable welcome, with a special mention for Dado who served us with exemplary patience. Always attentive and responsive, he was particularly understanding towards those with allergies, without ever being judgmental. My mother was thus able to enjoy her meal in complete serenity, which touched us deeply. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves: the meat was cooked to perfection and the exotic setting added to the pleasure. Language was no obstacle thanks to English. If I return to Cologne, I will definitely book another table here.

Glad that we have dinner at Servus! Friendly staff, delicous food and cozy atmosphere! A little background, we are 40 minutes late. We tried calling them but didnt went through so I sent them an email on time in hopes that we will still be accommodated. Had a lot of stress in the uber because it keeps on changing the pick up and arrival times. Was also busy because of christmas markets. Gladlyyyy we were accommodated!! Had a nice spot upstairs and we were served by Dado! really nice guy! if you want to have something delicious that is next to Christmas Market, Servus is the place!

Lovely restaurant. It truly lives up to its name. The decor is perfectly themed. The beer steins floating in the air are definitely eye-catching. The restrooms were also a highlight for me. Sitting in a cubicle with your feet propped up on skis, you're in front of a ski jump. Amazing! A fantastic and unique idea. Making a reservation for 11 people in advance via the website was a breeze. The food was excellent, the portions were generous, and the price was right. The drinks were on the pricier side! Since it was quite noisy at the table and conversation was rather difficult, I unfortunately have to deduct one star for the ambiance. Parking in Cologne is a nightmare. I can recommend the parking garage at the Philharmonie in terms of cost and location. Otherwise, everything was great, and we'll gladly come back.

You won't regret coming in here. Spaten beer on tap. Great Alpine menu. Summer terrace gets quite busy. Book a table if you have the opportunity.

Nice atmosphere. We had a very friendly waiter, Dado. Unfortunately, we found the food only okay. The meat I had was dry. The prices were also a bit higher than usual and somewhat more expensive compared to Cologne's breweries.

The only downside was the limited time.

The ambiance is really lovely and cozy, however, the tables are quite close together, so it can get rather noisy depending on the number of people. The food was mostly delicious. The Wiener Schnitzel was especially good—we would definitely come back for that. The Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) were also very good, and the chocolate soufflé and Kaiserschmarrn (shredded pancake) were superb for dessert. Only the suckling pig wasn't quite as good. I particularly appreciate that you can order some dishes in smaller portions, as the regular sizes are quite generous. All in all, the restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

I was at the Servus again with my ski group to get in the mood for our December ski trip – where better to do that than the Servus Colonia Alpina? Great atmosphere.

Very nice atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff, and good food! However, we arrived 14 minutes early and had to wait outside the restaurant because there was no room for us inside. The owners should really address this; we didn't appreciate it!

We were disappointed. We had fries with veal schnitzel and mushroom sauce, but the schnitzel is probably better at a mediocre chip shop. The breading certainly wasn't like you'd get at an alpine hut, and the flat meat tasted like frozen meat thrown into a pan. The mushroom sauce wasn't anything special either, and not particularly tasty. I never write reviews, but I am now. I wanted to surprise my husband for his birthday yesterday, as we love the food at alpine huts, and the reviews were very misleading. I would have been better off going to the brewery. The Kaiserschmarrn at the next table was so bad that they let me try it (we were planning to come back because of it!). It tasted like a lump of flour dipped in margarine. That's not an exaggeration. Unfortunately, we won't be giving the place another chance. The atmosphere was nice, and the beer was tasty. The waitress was a bit overwhelmed but friendly. I glanced over the empty glass as I ran through the store, and if I hadn't waved, I wouldn't have gotten another beer so quickly. Therefore: Adequate to poor.

We recently visited the restaurant and were absolutely delighted with the entire experience, especially the service provided by our waitress, Yza. ​From the very beginning, Yza was extremely kind, cheerful, and professional. She truly made us feel special and welcome. She was very attentive to detail, offered excellent menu recommendations, explained with genuine passion, and constantly ensured we lacked nothing, all without being intrusive. ​The service was swift and impeccable, and Yza perfectly managed a small special request we had, demonstrating flexibility and a genuine customer-oriented approach. It is a rare pleasure to be served by someone so dedicated and with such positive energy. ​Congratulations to the restaurant for the delicious food and, above all, for having a wonderful person like Yza on the team! We were here for lunch on a Sunday with five people. Based on previous experiences, I thought it would be a nice way to end a guided tour of Cologne. The location still offers a lovely mountain-like/cabin-like atmosphere with great attention to detail. The staff are friendly and always attentive, readily available, and efficient. Okay, the restaurant wasn't too busy. Stress-free 🙂 As for the food, I can only say 😒 I was almost embarrassed to tell my guests that I had raved so much about Servus Colonia. Our impression: The bread dumplings seemed like convenience food, the meat (suckling pig) was overcooked and over-seasoned, the sauerkraut came sloppy from a tub, the meat platter for two was shiny with grease, and the "Kaiserschmarrn" was a carelessly reheated cake (where was the egg white?). A Bavarian restaurant right in the heart of Cologne. I had roast meat with sauerkraut, dumplings, and gravy. It wasn't bad, but it could be better. The gravy was a bit too salty for my taste, and the roast was cooked a little too long. My companion had the giant bratwurst with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. That was much better. The ambiance was very charming. The ceiling decoration made of beer steins was a great idea.

A great spot in the city center for German food. I'm not a huge fan, but I have to say the portions are generous and the food seems fresh. The decor is well done and creates a pleasant atmosphere. It's fun to see the beer steins being wheeled around the restaurant on a motorized chain. The service was well managed.

Excellent dinner! Aunt was friendly, quick, and precise. We had the Sausage Platter with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes; all the sausages were excellent, and the accompanying beer sauce was excellent and complemented the dish perfectly. The sauerkraut was just the right amount of acidity, and the mashed potatoes were creamy. I come to Cologne for the fair every two years, and I've finally found a place where I can eat well. Until next time, well done!!
