Servus Colonia Alpina in Köln

The food wasn’t bad, the atmosphere was pretty warm however we unfortunately felt undesired in this restaurant. The waiter assigned to our table seemed to be grumpy and dodged our table on purpose. We waited for 20 mins after we finished our plates to finally interact with the waiter.

Bavarian ambience in Cologne. Lots of wood paneling. Top the beer mugs under the ceiling on the assembly line hook. Very nice staff who tried hard to find a place for the three of us even though we hadn't made a reservation. Everything went very quickly, without stress. Very pleasant. The crusty roast for under twenty euros was very tasty and the quantity was enough to fill you up. 😁 The prices were surprisingly cheap. It wasn't the last time we were there.

Unfortunately we didn't have time to eat anything. The service was really very quick and friendly. The ambience is also very nicely decorated in Bavarian style and I generally always like this 👍. Definitely worth a visit again

Anything that wasn't quite right was immediately improved by Bernd and changed to our satisfaction. I can only praise the staff and everything else.

Nice place in the center of Cologne. The environment is a cross between an Alpine restaurant and a local brewery, perhaps a little fake but pleasant. The menu is more based on that of local breweries. The beer is excellent.

We stumbled upon Servus Colonia Alpina on a lazy Sunday. We ordered the crispy pork which was so so good! And the beers 👍 We had an awesome service staff called Dado who made our experience here great! Before we left, he gave us hazlenut shots and we ended up lugging 2 bottles back. Love Cologne. Love Servus! Thanks Dado! You’re a star ⭐️

Food was very good. Instruction manual was very friendly and professional. It was chips for children on the house... I don't know that either. Unfortunately, I think the veal knuckle was €43.50. I would have liked to try one, but unfortunately it was a bit too expensive. Otherwise everything was good to very good.

Excellent Bavarian restaurant in the Cologne old town. The service is attentive, and the prices are very fair. They have a delicious hazelnut schnapps.. You won't leave the place hungry!

The food (crusted ham roast and grilled sausages with cabbage) was of a good standard... tasty, well seasoned and the right quantity, not too much but not too little either... just enough for the (small) Kaiserschmarrn (which was top). it still worked afterwards. What wasn't so great was that despite a reservation, it felt like half the table next to me was sitting at the table with us... if I make a reservation for 2 people, then I expect a table for 2... not a table where I felt like I was At least 1-2 people from the neighboring table sat (because they didn't manage to reserve for 8 people instead of 6 people). The very friendly, fast and courteous service couldn't completely iron this out, but the ladies made every effort! Thanks for that!

Great brunch on Sunday with great value for money

Mostly Bavarian food, rough, hearty, delicious. Very comfortably furnished, in keeping with the motto of the house. Great service, very friendly, relaxed and accommodating.

Very cozy and well-equipped restaurant. The staff is super friendly and motivated. The drinks are prepared quickly and the food too after a reasonable waiting time. I had Tafelspitz as a main course, semel dumpling soup as a starter and Kaiserschmarn as dessert. As a drink I ordered the house beer, which was very tasty. The price/performance ratio is very good for Cologne standards. It's also a big city. If you are traveling with a group of friends, you could also sit together at a long table. All in all a pleasant stay. I will definitely come back. Keep it up? This was my second visit on 10/23/24 and the rating has been adjusted.

Hut ambience in Cologne, but the food wasn't convincing, especially given the prices: the green salad under the goat cheese already had brown edges and the bread was too dry. The Kaiserschmarren tasted absolutely nothing like typical Kaiserschmarrn, more like ready-made sheet cake dough that was cut into pieces. Unfortunately no recommendation.

The best sauerkraut I've ever eaten! The staff was very friendly, professional, organized and attentive! The food was very tasty - big compliments to the kitchen! It is also super charming and comfortably furnished - just to feel good. I'd love to come back next time!

The food was very, very tasty, the service was also super nice, especially Mr. Demir, a service employee that you would want in every restaurant.

It's not quite as loud and crowded as in most restaurants around the Heumarkt. The ambience is really cool and the food and prices are clear.

Due to the mild weather, we were able to spend time outside with a beautiful view of the Heumarkt.

You have to really like Bavarian music to be able to stand the sound. The food was tasty, but the service left something to be desired.

Top service We were there as a large group, so I can only retell the rest. The homemade roulade is a poem and the red cabbage tastes like grandma's, but the dumplings are a bit off. I had very tasty cheese spaetzle served in a pan. Vegetarian. Unfortunately, all of the spaetzle were served cold, 3 of them, but that wasn't a problem at all, we reported it to service once and it was replaced without any problems. When my dishes arrived after 5-10 minutes, we feasted. My portion was well portioned for me. For others it was too little.

We went for brunch. Several main courses to choose from. Everything delicious.

Authentic food and very friendly service at a very good price/performance ratio. We were there with 5 adults on Friday evening. At our request, the reserved table was even changed again. The volume in this location is particularly positive. You can still have a good conversation even though the store was full. We'll be back. Good bye

Wonderful service until the waiter joked with us in Spanish. The decoration is beautiful. I loved the food but you must be completely willing to try very different flavors such as raw sausage, onion salad 🧅 with apple, etc. otherwise go to MC Donals

Great place for diner with fantastic schnitzel. Very good Germknodel, really surprised us and one was enough for two people. On top of that, atmosphere is very cozy really bringing you in the Alps!

The nek steak here was unforgettable. Cooked and served like you have paid for it, juicy, and packed with flavor. The restaurant’s smooth, almost machine-like operation was impressive, balancing clinical efficiency with a warm, welcoming vibe.

After visiting the Hännesche Theater, we ordered a table in the restaurant and were assigned it without any problems. Service and staff very professional and friendly, selection of food according to the ambience and the template. A limited range of dishes from the Alpine region was presented, supplemented by some Rhenish dishes. Unfortunately, the implementation does not correspond to the expected result, because as a long-time resident of the Free State and the state capital Munich, I unfortunately didn't like it. We had only ordered to please my mother-in-law's partner and I didn't have high expectations since we were in the middle of Cologne's tourist district. It's OK for these requirements but unfortunately it didn't convince me. 🤔

This place was great! Took me right back to the Austrian alpine restaurant huts. The food was really amazing, I will be dreaming about the Kazespatzle for the next few months. Service was also great, my German is not great, but the server was very friendly and patient and spoke great English when I couldn’t figure out how to say things in German. Will definitely be coming back!

We were invited to the Oktoberfest in the upper area. Cozy, clean, fast friendly service. The beer and the food were delicious, no reason to complain. Been there twice now. Still only positive things to report. TOP

Friendly reception, very nice and quick service. The ambience actually suggests a hut atmosphere. Excellent selection of wine but also tasty beer served in a stein. Given the price level, the quality of the hearty dishes could still be improved here and there. Nevertheless, the Servus Colonia Alpina is definitely worth a visit!

I didn't like the food unfortunately

It's a shame, but I imagine something different when I think of cheese spaetzle. In my opinion it was the wrong cheese...it wasn't spicy...onions belong under the spaetzle and not roasted on top Chives or parsley would also give it a frame. I was so looking forward to the dish that I was very disappointed. I'm really sorry. Great location...nice service...unfortunately not enough

Edit: I've been there several times now and the service is again at a very high level as usual. Therefore the rating has been adjusted. I usually eat here at least once a week and always order a schnitzel and beer. Basically, the food and service are top. Today, however, it was not a pleasant visit. It took a very long time until I had the opportunity to order. The beer came quickly. Schnitzel shortly afterwards too. However, with an old or already used lemon (which looked very unappetizing). The waiting time until you had the opportunity to complain was again very long. The problem was then resolved. When it came time to pay, there was no staff available. There was no response to the first verbal request (probably not heard, but the two men at the entrance saw this and did not point it out to the colleague). After a while it was cleared away and I was able to say that I wanted to pay. The waiting time was long again, I got ready to go and talk to the men at reception. Just as I was getting up, someone came to pay. The men at the reception (supposedly managers) could have calmly helped the waiters instead of standing around listless and bored. Not a nice visit today and I wonder what the men at reception are there for. Even as supposed bosses, you can sometimes support people.

Unfortunately, far too loud to eat comfortably.

The young waiter was completely overwhelmed, but this is no surprise since the "chief waiter" was extremely rude to us and to him too. There were 12 of us there and we could have generated a lot of sales if someone had taken orders. Some dishes arrived at the table incorrectly. But not for that at all. Price too high for what you get. The dessert alone was convincing.

A beautiful restaurant from the outside and just as chic and attractive inside. However, the service is “valde rude”, i.e. very rude and/or completely overwhelmed and this around 10:30 p.m. on Friday evening. The question about a beer or a wine was answered that it was closing soon and they could no longer serve us (four people). The cellar spoke in a snarky tone. Unfortunately, the level has steadily deteriorated over the last 12 months. Just sad.

Solid. Food was good and came quickly and at the same time, even though we were a larger group. Price-performance doesn't quite fit for us. Service was friendly, but unfortunately also very chaotic. We had to wait some time for the reserved table; something was often forgotten, especially with the drinks. There was also a lot of confusion when it came to billing.

I was there for a company dinner. Everything was excellent, although unfortunately I ended up with a shank that wasn't cooked to perfection. For the rest, a very nice and welcoming typical place. Advise

The ambience is nice but what I didn't like was the portion size of the food. I had 6 Nurembergers with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut. I get the sausages in a pack from Rewe and the whole thing was a children's portion. I wasn't full and I had expected something different from the sausages. Too bad! Dishes such as roast pork or dumplings were also missing.

Beautiful Austrian cafe in the middle of Köln. A bit hidden in a corner of the Heumarkt. When you enter the Heumarkt from the Alter Markt, turn immediately right, that is where Servus is located.

We are very satisfied. The stuff is so welcoming and very nice. The food was delicious and the inside is clean, beautiful and you feel you are in the Alpes. So definitely I will come again with friends here.

The food was good and served quickly. Minus point: there was a lunch menu in addition to the normal menu. I chose the crusty roast listed on the lunch menu for €11.90. When paying, €19.90 would then be required. When I asked, I was told that I had gotten the roast from the normal menu. The lunch roast would only be very small. Then why, pray tell, isn’t that on the cards? The exact same things were listed there. That's actually not how it works😑. Too bad

If you cannot get to Bayern during your trip to Germany this is a great stop for some authentic Bavarian atmosphere. The food is well worth the price!

Beautiful “tavern” in the heart of Cologne in a hearty Bavarian style. Traditionally, people are served in real leather trousers. Good hearty cuisine at medium prices. The lunch menu also offers a cheaper selection of various daily dishes. And for me.....Like every time "Obazter with Brezn" and a hearty wheat beer....I was satisfied...!!🍺👍 Addendum from August 2024.... The price devil has probably been on the move for the last few years and the prices have been increased sharply. I was recently in Bavaria and so I still have the Bavarian price level in my head. You wouldn't dare pay these prices even in Munich....!!? It's a shame... you probably think the people of Cologne will pay for it... There are no more recommendations from me... 👎👎👎

I was at Servus today as part of a wedding celebration and was very happy right from the start that Servus also offers vegan dishes! I chose the crispy schnitzel and was not disappointed. The dish was very tasty! In addition to my dish, there were also other vegan options, such as a vegan burger. I wouldn't have expected this in a restaurant that offers home-style Bavarian food and was therefore very pleasantly surprised. Definitely a good option if you want to combine omnivorous and vegan! 👍🏼

Top location, but the food is not edible. Chestnut cream soup was as thick as potato puree and had a burnt taste. The side dish of duck 1/4, red cabbage was oniony in taste and thickened with Mondamin. The bread crumbs were hardly in the water, so they were dry and hard. If Boris and Steffi had won every match in the 90s. The duck jus = ready-made sauce probably!

Very nice service, the food was very tasty, a small criticism that the containers weren't clean was warmly accepted and as a thank you the Kaiserschmarrn was free. Definitely go there again. As I said, very friendly and helpful.

The place is very nice and the food is delicious. I recommend the spare ribs with the barbecue sauce. The apfelstrudel is also very good!

We celebrated our wedding in Servus. The helpfulness of the staff during the preparation was great, the service was great during the wedding and the food was, as always, very tasty. I can only recommend it to everyone, super friendly team ❤️

The greeting was: “Let’s see if we have a place first.” The restaurant was hardly attended at all. In my opinion, the schnitzel was preheated in a convection oven, which is an outrage given the current prices! I'm sorry, the Kaiserschmarrn tasted as if it had been prepared from a shaker bottle and also preheated in a convection oven. 🤢 We won't be coming back. 👋🏻

The food was very good and the waiters were kind, very nice place. But they missed our main order after the starters and we had to wait an hour. If we hadn't told them we were probably still there waiting. It's a shame because they got off to a good start and I would have left them a tip.
