My son and I had eaten and drank in 2 larger Brewhaus’ before and found this great place. It’s much more personal, friendly and fantastic service with the oompah band playing live. Food was really good with a decent selections of beers.

Herzlicher Empfang , von der Chefin persönlich an den Platz geführt worden. Bier wie erwartet sehr lecker. Essen war gut und die Bedienung sehr freundlich. Empfehlenswert

Excellent typical restaurant in the center of Munich. As expected, we found excellent and plentiful food, very good Augustiner beer, and an atmosphere in line with expectations. The service is not unpleasant at all, these guys are just running around like crazy and will be quite stressed, but they were quick and willing to explain the menu.

Writing this review from my grave. It was such a good meal it killed me 😂 I wish I could eat here every day of my life! Our server was hilarious too. What a great experience! Can’t rate this place high enough.

Best restaurant in Munich! Excellent !!

They accommodated us pretty fast although it was very busy. The food came out fast, and it was tasty. The Aperol and the Hugo were not great. Stick with beer!

Very great and fast service, the beer tasted nice, and the food was delicious but for that price I was hoping to have a bigger portion. Overall would say it was a pleasant lunch with a great atmosphere.

Rich but normal, not bad either. The best is Weissbier beer.

Pretty good roast pork. Wiener Schnitzel bland and very oily. Pan was definitely too cold. A real Wiener Schnitzel is different. Roasted potatoes got the missing salt on the schnitzel, all in all edible but not worth a second visit. It's a shame the small consolation was the good beer.

Nice inn, thanks to the open windows you can almost sit outside. The volume was pleasant. Very friendly staff. Chicken with potato salad was very tasty. We've had better roast pork. Veal pancakes were also very tasty, as was the Obatzda. We'd love to come back.

Loved the atmosphere here! They had live music, and it felt like an authentic experience! Our server was friendly and funny. The pork knuckle here was one of our favorites!

Food and service were top. Very friendly service and good tasting food. The selection of dishes and drinks is large enough so that everyone can find something. After ordering, the food arrived at the table nice and hot and quickly.

Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Try the house beer from the barrel . Crisp and floral notes , goes well on hot days and recommend to pair it with the schnitzel. Do yourself a favor and drop by, Family friendly and not as loud as other spots so you can talk to your friends

Sat down one night to have a drink. There was live and as far as I understand "traditional" music. There was like a small brass ensemble with accordion and everyone was singing along. It has nice atmosphere, would recommend.

Great Bavarian food. The staff were friendly and very nice. Dogs are also allowed, this is not something to be underestimated.

Location in the center of Munich, quiet and spacious. Very welcoming staff and good food with more than generous portions. We struggled to finish our dishes. Super shank and roast! The platter with typical cured meats and cheeses is also very good.

Very good location and a very friendly Bavarian establishment. The service was very friendly and accommodating! I can only recommend it and is a must if you are in Munich.

The location is very nice. The waitress is a little nervous. They should increase the number of waiters. The young male waiter was very polite. Great for beers. The same is true of the ambience of the place. My advice to Germans is that if you want to get ahead in tourism, your waiters should treat people well.

The vegetarian 3 types of dumplings and the vegan spinach pretzels were outstanding. Generous portions too. The best non-alcoholic light beer from Augustinerbräu. Best place ever! Directly diagonally opposite the Hofbräuhaus.

Excellent service! We arrived at a busy time but the wait was worth it! Very good quality-price ratio! The beer is very good! The food was perfect, in temperature and flavor, the portions are abundant and we couldn't finish it all, so I will return later just to eat a dessert from this place! Our waiter Luan was lovely and made us feel very welcome, He is someone I will always remember! I highly recommend the place to learn about local cuisine.

“Simple inn”, but great service, great food and great atmosphere inside.

Right in the city center. For the absolutely reasonable price you get a decent portion. The beer of course a 10/10. Typical Bavarian rustic interior. We had to wait maybe 5 minutes for our table for 2. More than okay considering the crowds. Changing tables (better places) is no problem. Our waiter Alex V. was super nice and committed. A recommendation!!!

We had dinner in this restaurant in the center of Munich without having booked in the middle of August. After waiting about 10 minutes we were escorted to the table. Not chaotic and well organised. Friendly and smiling staff. We enjoyed typical Bavarian dishes. Excellent rotisserie chicken with chips.

The food is good, but it is expensive for what it is. There were a lot of people and they sat us at a high table on quite uncomfortable stools. The service was friendly.

Absolutely recommended! You can enjoy Bavarian cuisine in a welcoming and less chaotic environment than other places in the center of Munich. After being accompanied to the table by a very kind waiter, who spoke Italian without problems making us feel at ease, we ordered roast pork (delicious!!!) shank and cutlet with chips (a very generous portion) and obviously he could not miss the beer, light and thirst-quenching. The prices are a little high but we are in the center of Munich and we really enjoyed our stay so as far as I'm concerned it's justified. I would like to particularly thank the waiter who looked after us, he was kind and helpful! When you are abroad and find someone who makes an effort to speak your language you feel at home...THANK YOU!

Super delicious food at lunchtime. For 17.90 roast pork with a light beer is ideal. Unfortunately it wasn't possible to exchange a Helles for a Radler, which meant my wife couldn't take advantage of the offer and had to order something else.

Very good gastronomy, everything was very good but the service remains to be reviewed. Indeed, the waiter didn't speak English very well and sold us two liters of beer (!) without us knowing it. I tried to get it changed to two pints but he refused even though the bartender hadn't even started making them. Furthermore, we waited a very long time with our arms outstretched for the waiter to come and cash us (around 20 minutes). I had to go to the checkout directly. Another waiter made a joke to me and his colleague then said "don't worry he's gay he only likes men". I was very uncomfortable.

We enjoyed our visit - great beer and tasty food at relatively reasonable prices. It’s quite busy and you might have to wait a bit. The seating organization is not very good and while there are empty tables staff is too busy to notice and deal with the line of people waiting.

We reserved online about 45 minutes before our arrival and all went smoothly (highly recommend you make a reservation because there was a line out the door). Traditional German menu. The food and beer was great. Loved the veal meatballs. Kids were happy with sausages.

Very nice service, delicious food and delicious drinks (especially the light ones from the wooden barrel). Nice, rustic and lively atmosphere! A reservation is recommended, especially on weekends. Without a reservation, you still have a good chance of getting a spot if you wait a bit.

We were here for dinner. It was a great experience all around! Starting with the reservation, which was easy to make online. You could choose the open reservation times at your leisure, and the subsequent email confirmation arrived promptly. A reminder was also sent later. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were greeted very friendly. Overall, the staff was very courteous, attentive, and well organized. The food came very quickly and tasted great! The pork knuckle and roast pork were tender, the crust was crispy but not hard, absolutely perfect! A roast can often be dry, but that wasn't the case here! The sauce was really tasty, not overpowering or too salty. The side dishes rounded the whole thing off wonderfully, refreshingly. Plus the excellent Augustiner beer, what more could you want? Also really good prices for the quality offered. For us, this stay was an absolute success and we would fully recommend the Augustiner am Platzl!

Unfriendly service. When ordering a small special, we didn't mention that there was no small one. When asked, the response was rude.

It's nice that there is live music on weekdays too. A nice alternative to the large Hofbräuhaus with good prices (0.5 liter beer for €4.60). I also find it very positive that there is at least a vegan dish and that it is actively advertised. A good start, it would be even nicer if there were, for example, vegan meat loaf from the vegan butcher shop in Munich. Tastes fantastic and is a cruelty-free and sustainable alternative :)

Stopped in for an afternoon helles and a snack. Since it was after lunch it was pretty quiet. The food and service were excellent. Special thanks to Luan for the recommendation of the Strudel which is to die for!!

I am on my second trip to Munich in about as many months. I stopped by Augustiner am Platzl again. Food is great. Beer is great. Service is great. Actually can please we get Augustiner am Platzl to move to Katterbach or Ansbach.

DANGER: When asked whether the veal schnitzel could also be had for children, the waitress offered that there was also a half portion. What is not kept secret is that for a dish that costs almost 30 euros, just 2.50 euros is taken off the price. That doesn't even correspond to 10%. When asked, it was confirmed that this was okay. The ice cream and cafés on offer no longer make me happy, my money is gone.

We enjoyed this spot. Nice place to sit out and people watch, have a beer, and try some traditional food. Busy location. Recommend checking it out.

Good restaurant, it was very busy and loud but that didn't bother us. It's great when people have fun and it tastes good. The portions are large and the prices are very reasonable considering it is right across from the Hofbräuhaus. Unfortunately, the lettuce wasn't washed properly; there was still a tiny bit of sand or earth in between. But other than that it was very tasty and a lot.
