Good hotel, ideal location, good breakfast and friendly service. Single room with only the essentials, small but sufficient for 2-3 nights. Even though advertised on the hotel website, there was no air conditioning in the room and only a fan (which is not enough when it is hot)

Stayed overnight, the room was very large, excellent location and a good breakfast. Excellent value for money when looking for a place to stay in the centre of town.

We stayed in the economy room during an overnight layover to explore munich. The economy room was very nice, actually bigger than I had expected. Great lighting, big windows, comfy bed, and ample storage. The separated bathrooms are single bathrooms, not dorm style, which is great. As all others have said, breakfast is great.

Perfectly located, charming old building, yet well updated interior and rooms. Everything you would need but in a small footprint add to the intimate experience.

Der Blaue Bock mitten im Zentrum feiert diees Jahr 20 Jahre Kulinarik in München. Grund genug, um zu gratulieten und zu sehen, ob die bislang sehr attraktive Küche in Feierlaune ist. Das Ambiente mit dunklen Wänden, moderner Kunst und Tischlämpchen ist manchmal schon etwas düster, so nehmen manche Gäste, um die auch auf dunkel curryfarbenem Papier gedruckte Speisekarte zu lesen, die Taschenlampe vom Handy. Aber was man da liest, ist alles mundwässernd. Im Januar gibts ein 3 Gange Menue für 2 zum Peis von netto 70 €, im März kommt wieder das legendäre Hummerfestival für 85€ pP., welches man als Gourmet nicht auslassen sollte. Die Gänge des Menues für 2 waren (wie bisher) von höchster Qualität und absolut auf Sterneniveau, jedoch ohne Chichi und gradlinig mit feinsten Aromen. Diese klare und feine Küche gehört für mich, schon seit Jahren zur absoluten Spitze in München. Der Küchenstil erinnert mich immer wieder an Hans Haas. Die Weinkarte ist umfangreich der Service kundig und zuvorkommend herzlich. Also Herz was willst Du mehr (vielleicht ein bisserl mehr Helligkeit)! Im gleichen Haus bietdt das Hotel eine gepflegte Unterkunft und ein hervorragendes Frühstück an, für diejenigen, die es weiter nach Hause haben!

Sehr angenehmes Restaurant, toller Service & Küche. Von der Bouillabaise und dem Rehragout hat es keine Bilder gegeben, weil zu einladend war gleich zu essen 😄. 100 Punkte 💯

My wife and I recently stayed here, originally due to depart the day of the big snow storm in Munich (12/2)...which kept us in Munich for 7 nights instead of the original 3 planned. The staff and receptionists were exceptionally nice, helpful, and accommodating during our unexpectedly long stay. And as most people mention, the hotel is in an excellent location. Would definitely stay here again.

Do not let the entrance mislead you. The hotel is very nice and cozy. The staffs are very friendly, helpful and kind. The rooms are clean. The location is perfect. I travel quite a bit and I must say that the breakfast is of excellent quality.

This is a wonderful quaint hotel, historic in nature, yet with all the modern amenities you would expect. However, the best thing about Blauer Bock is its convenient location, complete (and excellent!) breakfast, and kind service. The location is perfect for Muenchner connoisseurs as well as newbies who want to have convenient and quick access to all the beauty the city has to offer. The adjacent Viktualienmarkt offers a variety of excellent casual eating along with other quality restaurants nearby. Marienplatz is about a 5 minute walk from where you see the Rathaus and many other worthy sites. Munich is immensely walkable so that all key attractions are easily reached. The breakfast buffet is replete with local delicacies. Coffee is generously served by a very friendly and hospitable staff. Yogurt, muesli, eggs, German bread, cold cuts, etc. are plentiful. All in a setting of nice decor, cloth napkins, and real cutlery (no plastic!). Lastly, the staff is very helpful and kind with the owner/manager visibly working alongside his co-workers. Whether it is the front desk, restaurant, or room service, they are the best. The property was very clean and well-cared for. Highly recommend! Hotel, restaurant, bar, café in one friendly place with a very pleasant atmosphere. The service is efficient and smiling. Fairly limited summer menu offering Molossol caviar on a bed of leek purée with butter. Delicious. The tartare is good although not spicy enough served with a small salad. A hot accompaniment would have been welcome. The Marillen knoedel are to die for. The dough is thin and the apricot cooked to perfection. Served with delicious vanilla ice cream. The aperitif, reserved, accompanied me until the end of lunch. An excellent crémant rosé.

I found Blauer Bock on TripAdvisor, and it happens to be adjacent to the Viktualienmarkt. We were the only English speakers at the place, but by good luck our waitress Nell had grown up in England and spoke with the same accent as my wife. We ordered the sole, and when it came out, the owner himself arrived to fillet it. The portion was huge and the value for money was phenomenal. There was another fish choice "Wildfangbutt" for which no one including the internet could tell me the English name -- I learned later it was turbot, a fish that in America is found only in Michelin star restaurants. If you are an English speaker, do make at least an online reservation, the hostess seemed perplexed when she thought we were walk-ins.

Sur le conseil du guide Michelin, nous nous sommes présentés dans ce restaurant le28 juin à 20h 35 précises. La salle intérieure était vide et à l’extérieure 2 ou 3 tables occupées. Je demande une table pour 2 et j’ai eu comme réponse trop tard la cuisine est fermée. Avis aux amateurs !!!!
