Das Bad in München

Outstanding menu and food, great location and with a nice seating area outside when the weather is good too. I had a delicious meal with a curry wurst special.

“Das Bad” is bad. The cheese trio dish was not good. The sausages and sauerkraut were good, but wildly overpriced for the portion size. Overall too expensive for what they offer

Wir waren direkt zweimal hier zum Essen, denn erstens ist der Geräuschpegel nicht so hoch wie in den klassischen Bierhallen und die Atmosphäre hat uns überzeugt. Nicht nur toll vom Ambiente her, sondern auch sehr freundlicher, aufmerksamer Service. Die Bewertungen anderer Besucher können wir nicht teilen. Es gab klassische Gerichte, frisch und neu interpretiert mit dem gewissen Etwas. Wir würden hier sofort wieder einkehren, wenn wir in München sind.

Nothing to complain about, the food was very good and the service was nice and courteous

First time at the former "Scheißheiserl" (Scheißeiserl). A truly wonderful atmosphere in the polygonal room; bright, with wooden tables and chairs. Friendly, attentive staff, good food, and reasonable prices for Munich. We were there in a small group of six. The restrooms were also clean and in very good condition. A place we'll definitely be returning to!

We had visitors and it was suitable and not crowded, but it was only 4:30 p.m.

It was a rather cool evening with equally cool treatment from the service staff. Waited nearly half an hour to settle my tab. Walked inside to ask for the bill but was told to sit at my table because the waitress who was apparently serving my table was busy having dinner. I just called out to the same waitress less than 10 minutes earlier but was ignored. "Spectacular!" The one star given for service is for the one staff who bothered to give a super short description of the menu I pointed at. Lol.

A nice restaurant right on the Theresienwiese. The food was good, but nothing exceptional.

This is a great place to get food. We arrived on a Sunday evening without booking and sat at a table inside. Service was initially good but after our main course we were kept waiting and we had to ask for a dessert menu. The food itself was very good. Good German cuisine done well with some nice touches. Price was reasonable. Atmosphere was ok but the shape of the building means it's not particularly cosy. All in all I'd recommend a visit.

Modern yet traditional—both in the interior and on the menu. A very nice location without much noise.

We had a wonderful evening at Das Bad. The service was excellent—both prompt and efficient. I particularly enjoyed my beer, a pint of refreshing Augustiner Hell, a light and easy-drinking option. The food was also quite good. Given the location, the outdoor seating area can be somewhat noisy due to nearby traffic, but that’s to be expected.

I definitely can't recommend it! I had visitors and wanted to invite them to a Bavarian restaurant in Munich. But unfortunately this place was not a good choice. We weren't served even though there were free tables. When I asked the waitress in a friendly manner, she just rolled her eyes. After a while we left just like other guests. Not a special place, there are many nicer and more hospitable restaurants in Munich.

Food is absolutely good. Unfortunately, the portions are very small and the menu is manageable. Despite there being few guests, we had to wait a relatively long time for a waiter. The ambience inside is very nice, unfortunately the outside is on the street but you know that when you go there

A special location with a view of the Theresienwiese - a successful mix of tradition and modernity with an incredible amount of charm. The service was extremely friendly and competent. Despite the full house at the Spring Wiesn, the team exuded a professional calm that immediately gave us a good feeling. We decided on the “Obazda”, which was not only a visual highlight, but also completely convincing in terms of taste – a real pleasure! The “currywurst” was an insider tip and the sauce was a real taste explosion. From the first warm “Hello” to the equally friendly “Pfiati”, we felt completely at home. Whether for a cozy Augustiner or a delicious meal: “Das Bad” is absolutely recommended.

Very tasty food and extremely friendly staff. I was thrilled with the selection for vegetarians, a huge compliment goes to the kitchen.😊👍 We haven't eaten so well in a long time 😄🙏 We'll definitely be back 😃

Food is general pub stuff. Beef was good. Service was difficult, we kept having to wave down waiting staff for any orders, otherwise we were ignored completely. We were there with some German friends and even they got annoyed with the service.

French friends if you pass by the “Theresien Wiese”, this restaurant is absolutely excellent! The waiter was charming, the dishes delicious and the restaurant is magnificent. Danke für den tollen Abend! Es war richtig lecker!

We wanted lunch and were there at 1 p.m. We were then told that everything was already empty. Not recommended. We had already ordered drinks and had to accept them. It's a shame we were actually looking forward to the restaurant.

Ursprünglich als öffentliche Bedürfnisanstalt errichtet, dann als Dusch- & Wannenbad („Tröpferlbad“) genutzt, später dann zum Aufenthaltsraum für die Trambahnfahrer der Stadt München umgewidmet und später gar als Klohäusel und zur Gepäckaufbewahrung während der Wiesn zweckentfremdet, wurde in 2017/2018 von der Stiftung, der die Augustinerbrauerei mehrheitlich gehört, kräftig umgebaut und entstanden ist ein uriges Lokal, was insbesondere bei Geburtstags- oder Firmenfeiern seinen Charmen offenbart, weil man ohne feste Sitzordnung mit einer frisch gezapften Augustiner-Halben vom Eichenfass quasi im Kreis herum um die Theke „gemütlich ratschend“ seine Runden ziehen kann. Mal was ganz anderes und damit echt urig - zum empfehlen sind insbesondere die „Windbeutel“ zum Dessert!

Original location in a former public institution. Interesting location on Theresienwiese. Bavarian cuisine, not exactly super cheap. The staff is very nice and takes care of the guests. Cordon Bleu filled with O'batztem is a somewhat unusual combination... but of course there are also normal, less extravagant dishes. ;-)

We were warmly served and had a delicious meal! We'll be back! Thank you for the wonderful time with you!

Really enjoyed the food and drink. Augustiner beer always the best! Had a very local neighborhood feel and was a bit of a surprise from the downtown touristy spots. Service was great and the food very good and reasonably priced. Reservations recommended.

Augustiner entspannt - im Gegensatz zu den vielen tollen urigen Wirtshäusern und hippen „Boazn“ bietet das Bad einfach eine natürliche Entspanntheit durch die tolle Architektur in Verbindung mit tollem Service und Speisekarte abseits des „Einheitsbreis“ der Münchner Wirtshausküche!

Es ist einfach nett dort ;) ich kannte das Bad bisher nur im Sommer (Biergarten), auch ohne Biergarten sehr empfehlenswert!

Very nice, quick service. Even an accidentally spilled beer doesn't cause any problems; there are even towels to dry beer-soaked pants. Chili sausage with fries was very good, although it took some getting used to in combination with mixed pickles. All in all, definitely worth a visit.

From the outside I expected a simple restaurant, but was then more than pleasantly surprised by the beautiful atmosphere inside. There are many Bavarian delicacies, but also some vegetarian and vegan options. The vegan currywurst was very tasty and our service was super nice and attentive. Unfortunately it was over at 10 p.m. and the lights were turned on - still five stars ☺️

The waitress (a slightly older lady) was extremely unfriendly. You feel as welcome as a snail in the Sahara. At least, the beer tastes like beer should taste & the gentleman behind the bar was friendly, as he should be👍🏻

Very nice attentive service. Exceptional round restaurant. The goulash was very good. Unfortunately, the red cabbage, a side dish with the duck, was not at all good for our taste, it was creamy, messy and tasted like gingerbread. Better order cabbage or salad with it ;-). Otherwise, gladly again

Very tasty food (crunchy schnitzel of the day) for a very fair price. You sit on the street in the middle of the action. I like it that way. The service was very friendly and competent. Great hospitality!

Today I write: There was a change of tenant here a few months ago. The staff is completely different, unfortunately to the detriment of the service quality. We only go here when we can't think of anything better. And we are looking forward to the next change of tenant, hopefully soon. Previously I wrote: Really a good economy! Beautiful interior, delicious, well-priced food and friendly, welcoming staff! I ordered the Wiener Backhendl which was cooked to perfection and included an incredible potato salad. I will definitely be back on a warmer day to enjoy the outdoor Biergarten!

I hereby award the crown of impudence to the staff at “Das Bad”! We sit at the bar and actually just want to drink something in peace. The whole time the employees have nothing better to do than complain about the guests: some are too stupid to order, others shouldn't imagine that they are the only guests and the next person doesn't know what he's drinking anyway. When we wanted to pay with a card and the device didn't work, a waitress commented: "It must be the guests' fault." ARE YOU CRAZY??? Ugh, job missed!!!

Update 2024: After it was one of our favorites a year ago, I can only rate the substandard and outrageous service from the new management. - the food is okay, although the menu could have been adapted over the years! - were there yesterday at 1:45 p.m. for lunch, as pan gyros with tzatziki and fries were advertised for €12, until 3 p.m. and while stocks last. We were then told that there was only the daily schnitzel from the lunch menu, otherwise the historic, unchanged daily menu. After we had finished eating, the staff sat down to eat between 2:30 and 3 p.m. There were about 5 guests and 5 employees who all ate pan gyros together!!! (Which no longer existed - so for paying guests) Such a terribly bad attitude towards the customers, first telling them this dish is no longer available and then sitting right next to them to eat it is no longer possible. All of this, mind you, was in the presence of the new local manager. The great quality of the bathroom has been destroyed for the time being. I hope you change that. Until then, as former regulars of your two restaurants, we will no longer visit you and will also move our team meetings with 5-10 people that we have been holding at your place for years to neighboring restaurants. Review from 2023 Great location. Exceptionally great pavilion with a great ambience. Top staff, delicious food and very fair prices.

Unfortunately, the food was below average and unfortunately there was no applause for the homemade Waldberrenlimo. Beer = Augustiner + service was ok, nice location therefore 2 stars.

It's a nice, somewhat popular spot for a cool beer and definitely can't complain about that! Service is what it is in Germany tbh, very hit or miss depending on who you have / their mood / day of the week etc. If you're willing to be a bit patient it's worth checking out.

We waited 20 minutes to be served and then asked the waiter to give us a Goschn.

It is a venue right across from the entrance gate of the Oktoberfest area. The garden is beautiful. You can take a break to drink beer. The toilets are very clean.

Great location - right outside the entrance to the Oktoberfest. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating (but do reserve a spot, as it does get busy!). Quick service. Friendly-ish staff.

Food was a bit underwhelming and service was not bad but they were clearly understaffed. Pork Cordon Bleu for me was a big no, meat was tough and the cheese was very weird inside, looking all curdled. My partner had sausages and it was good, but nothing exceptional.

Full marks for everything from the start. Opposite the entrance to the Theresienwiese, “Das Bad” can be found beautifully under the trees. Small anteroom into a beautiful restaurant with a great modern Bavarian ambience. As soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted wonderfully by the waitress, who put a smile on my face as soon as I arrived. At the table the menu, traditionally Bavarian and not too crowded. When asked about special requests, no problem, but instead of leaving something out, the recommendation was adjusted and so we still had a perfect meal. Courteous service staff regularly ask how you are doing. At the end of the meal the service was told that the sausages were a bit cold. The chef didn't let this sit and came to the table and sincerely apologized for everything and also offered to throw two new ones on the grill. It tasted perfect, but I gratefully said no to two new sausages because my stomach didn't want any more after this good portion.😊 A great crew and after a chat with the boss, a wonderful evening ended. Gladly again and thank you for the great stay🤗

El personal obviamente no le gusta hablar inglés. Fue grosero, nos ignoró y dio prioridad a los demás. Parecía un lugar lo suficientemente bonito, pero ahora desearía haber leído todas las otras malas críticas y me fui a otro lugar. Evítalo y busca otro lugar para una cerveza tranquila.
