Minimal vegetarian options: the pasta is basic but good. The schnitzel is plain but cooked properly and the "warm" potato salad was cold and unseasoned. The apple strudel is good but not out of the world. The bier is great! Overall, would recommend for a drink, don't expect something incredible from the food.

The place was an absolutely madhouse which is part of its absolute charm. The food was awesome! The beer was awesome but the service wasn't exactly the best but it's understandable for a beer hall large. I'd go back

A lovely inn and very child-friendly. We had an incredibly friendly server. They have a separate menu for children, along with crayons and coloring materials. It's great that they also offer vegetarian and vegan options. The currywurst was okay, but I've had better. They could have had a few more fries. But overall, a nice place! They also have their own mission statement, which sounds really appealing.

Wonderful, typical German food!

Strollers are left unattended outside the restaurant in the cold and snowstorm. This is unacceptable for families with toddlers and babies.

We were a group of 21 people at the Augustiner Klosterwirt. Everyone raved about the atmosphere, service, and food. Everything was top-notch and very clean, including the restrooms. We will definitely be back.

This was my first time eating Haxen, so I can't compare it to other places, but I was satisfied. I also liked the restaurant's atmosphere, which felt like a traditional German restaurant. We ordered just one half Haxen for two, and with a beer each, it was more than enough. I wanted to order a pretzel to dip in the sauce, but I was too full to finish it.

One of the best pubs in the center, less famous than the others. The food is very good and varied, from the classic shank to salmon, which is not bad. The staff is very kind and friendly, there was a blonde lady who spoke Italian.

The service was excellent. We had a reservation and arrived on time. The food was delicious, especially the pork knuckle. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was lively, like a German beer hall.

If a Pope felt this beer was one of the two things he missed from his former life, there's nothing more to say than sublime.

The portions are very delicious and filling, mostly pork, but we ordered schnitzel and beef. The pasta-like dish that came with it was quite tasty, like tortellini pasta. The marmalade and potato salad that came with the schnitzel were also very good.

Made a reservation to experience a beer hall while in Munich and we were very happy with our experience on a Sunday evening. Service was prompt and friendly, food was good (a couple of house specials to try all the meats, and a sausage special, plus the apple strudel and berries dream ice cream), plus a requisite liter of Augustiner beer each.

Best Wiener Schnitzel I've had so far. And I recommend ordering it with a Knödel. Edit: 1 year later it's still the best

Half a pig's foot costs around 22.9 euros. Half a foot is a very large portion; one person would be very full. The skin is crispy to the point of being a little hard, but the meat is delicious. My friend ate the same thing, but his had a lot more meat and the bones were very small. The service was excellent!

A-freakin'mazing!!! OMG!! Starve yourself before you come for at least 24 hrs then order the House Special. Meatatarian delight! The crispy crust of the pork shoulder, the sausages, the wiener snitzel...all delicious and amazing. The mustard and gravy and jam were incredible with the meats. The sauerkraut and red cabbage were incredible. I didn't have room for dessert which is so rare!!! I want to come back here for more meals!! Our server spoke English and was so nice.

We went to the Augustiner Klosterwirt for dinner on **January 1, 2026**. Although we **hadn't made a reservation** and the restaurant was packed, we still got a table – a definite plus that made for a very pleasant start to the evening. Since we were a bit late (our own fault) and the kitchen closes at **10:00 PM**, we had to hurry with our order. Nevertheless, we were served **extremely friendly**, with humor and genuine smiles. Our waiter, **Philip**, was attentive, pleasant, and professional from beginning to end – exactly what you expect from good service. To make the most of the kitchen's closing time, we ordered **two courses** right away, which was no problem at all. The food itself was **sensational**. We haven't had such **authentic, high-quality, and flavorful food in a restaurant for a long time – sadly, that's no longer a given these days. Here, you can truly appreciate quality, tradition, and genuine craftsmanship. : ... The **ambience** was exactly what we imagine a Bavarian inn to be: cozy, warm, and authentic. The **air quality** was pleasant, the **restrooms** were clean, and there was **plenty of space between the tables**, making for a very relaxed experience. We're certain of one thing: **We'll definitely be back on our next trip to Munich.** A thoroughly enjoyable evening and a clear recommendation.

Great Bavarian offerings, good value for money, friendly service, nothing special in terms of taste for me, very, very crowded (reservations recommended)

We popped into the restaurant spontaneously, on a Saturday night! They found us a spot: they have drinks on the first floor (lots of bar tables), and food is served in the basement (they also serve drinks). Service: very friendly, welcoming, and short. Atmosphere: everyone is talking, it's noisy, and there's a sense of life and friendship. Food: delicious, truly delicious, and there was plenty to compare it to. We recommend the pork shoulder with cabbage. We would have liked half as much of the mixed salad. Price: average. Drinks: The name suggests they'll be serving Augustiner in various versions. There's a bit of wine, but I don't think they serve anything else! I recommend this place; it feels lively and intimate at the same time.

The place is very large and well-decorated. Even the Christmas decorations were very pretty, creating a lovely atmosphere. The staff was courteous and super friendly. The food was excellent. I would gladly return.

We spent New Year's Eve at this beautiful, quiet brewery with the family. We obviously booked in advance. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was quiet, and the waiters were friendly... Excellent!

To be honest, I didn't have high expectations since we'd tried to get a table at another Agustiner and they'd been terribly rude to us, but this was different and the staff were wonderful. We ordered the macaroni and cheese and the schnitzel to share, and it was delicious with a generous portion. We also tried their famous beer. The bill came to about 30 euros per person.

It was a nice experience. Even though the restaurant was almost full, the food wait wasn't long. The half knuckle was tasty (that was the reason I chose the place). Soup of the day was not to my taste, but it's just my taste. The waitress was polite and attentive.

The place has a great atmosphere, but the food looks good but has no flavor—typical tourist fare. The local trout was tiny and undercooked. The service was terrible; the waitress Michelle treated us rudely over a centerpiece that was supposedly blocking a table—very strange! Perhaps we were just unlucky, but that's the most important thing. It's better to just pop in and find somewhere else to eat. 🤷🏻‍♂️ The price is high for what it offers.

Fast service. We received our food very quickly. The owner asked us several times if everything was alright. We were accidentally spilled with beer by the server – under the table and on parts of our clothes. They took good care of it, but as a small token of apology, we would have appreciated a free beer. Perhaps this could be a suggestion for future guests. The food was delicious, and we were treated kindly. They brought us extra sauce because the owner saw we hadn't put much on our plates. We really appreciated that.

The server pressured us to give a 10% tip, claiming it's the "standard in Europe," which is misleading as 5% is standard for "okay" service in Munich. Furthermore, he didn't show us a bill to review before payment; he only provided the printed receipt AFTER we had already paid. While the math turned out to be correct, the lack of transparency and the pressure for a high tip felt like a tourist trap. A famous restaurant should maintain higher professional standards. Good vibe, but be mindful of the service tactics.

The historic ambiance is cozy and inviting – exactly what you'd expect from a traditional Munich inn. We were absolutely delighted with both the roast pork and the roast pork: succulent meat, a wonderfully crispy crackling, and a rich, perfectly balanced sauce. And to top it all off, a freshly tapped Augustiner beer, which simply tastes exceptional here. Even with the restaurant packed, the service was very attentive, friendly, and well-organized. You feel welcome and exceptionally well taken care of. All in all, an inn that we can wholeheartedly recommend – for anyone who appreciates Bavarian classics, good beer, and an authentic Munich atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

The decor was rustic and cozy, as expected. The food didn't quite live up to our expectations (we're more familiar with Bavarian cuisine), but it was still okay. There's no place more beautiful!! My living room. The welcome at the entrance was excellent. The restaurant management was very attentive, and the table service couldn't have been better. It's also wonderful that, in addition to the vegan currywurst, there are now alternatives for my daughter. She loves coming along now, too.

A restaurant to understand authentic German cuisine. It looks touristy but many locals prefer it for its genuine flavors. The service is very fast and everyone remembers which beer everyone is drinking. Incredible. Reservations are recommended but if you go at a neutral time and accept to sit with other groups you are sure to find one. The portions are large so you don't want to go overboard. There may be a time slot but nothing pressing.

The waiters were indifferent and ignored me. No one served me; I looked at several waiters, but they all ignored me. When I spoke to one waiter, he wouldn't look me in the eye and then left.

This is the real choice for an authentic Bavarian experience in Munich that isn't overly touristy. The atmosphere is excellent, staff are friendly and attentive, and the food is just superb. The pork knuckle was crispy and melt in the mouth good, the schnitzel was paired with a delicious berry sauce. All accompanied with their own beer. This place can get very busy but the queue is speedy, it is worth it for sure.

It was my first time here. Because of the lovely autumn weather, we sat outside. I had half a pork knuckle. There was nothing to complain about; it was very tasty overall. The waiter was quite efficient, so ordering and paying were very quick. For Munich city center standards and a predominantly touristy clientele, the prices were quite reasonable.

This was my first time experiencing racism in Europe. They took orders from people later than me, but told me to wait and didn't come. Later, an older waiter took my order. The same goes for payment. Will never go back and I don't recommend it. The food was just okay.

The red cabbage was the best thing on my plate. So good. And the Sauerbraten was delicious as well. It was absolutely pack as we went in the height of Christmas market season at 5pm, but worth it.

No. 547: Pig's Feet - Haksen, perfect for two! The spicy side dish that comes with the Haksen is a great way to balance out the greasiness! No. 532: Special Assorted Sausages I ordered them! Both were amazing. Absolutely delicious! No. 520: Sausages in Water - Orders are only available until 12 PM, so I couldn't try them, but I'll try them next time. Two menus are provided. The restaurant's special menu? And the regular menu. Two for three people was enough. We ordered the blue beer in the photo, and it was delicious! The aftertaste was rich and delicious. The staff were so pretty and friendly. They were all dressed in traditional Korean attire, which was perfect!

It's quite disappointing that a glass of tap water costs €4.30, almost the same as a beer at €4.80. I regret not reading the drinks menu more carefully, as I honestly felt like I fell into a trap. Even so, it's a highly recommended place for the food, the service, and, of course, the beer. 🍺

One of the best meals we had in Munich. While I don't like to bring other restaurants into a review, but there is this other place called The Hofbräuhaus that is very close. We ate and experienced both. Augustiner is better on every account. Better food, less hectic, better service and just an overall more enjoyable experience. The Roast Pork with Dumpling was perfect. Fluffy dumpling, the pork was cooked perfectly, and the gravy was seasoned well. And of course the Augustiner Helles was the absolute best. If you can only go to one of these types of restaurants in Munich, go here.

This is a famous restaurant for Haksen. We ordered a large one and two adult men were full. Trust me, it's delicious. However, it was a little greasy.
