Highly recommended. The waiters and waitresses are incredibly fast and super friendly...everything for the restaurant guest.

We had reserved a table online the evening before, and it worked out perfectly. We were greeted very warmly and courteously the next day and shown to our table. Within five minutes, we received our ordered drinks, and less than another fifteen minutes later, we received our two delicious roast pork cuts and the best knuckle of pork in all of Munich. We have been spending our summer holidays in Munich for five years and have eaten at the Augustiner Klosterwirt at least once per stay. We are always impressed by the exceptionally good food, the great service, and the wonderful atmosphere. We will definitely spend at least one evening at the Klosterwirt on our next visit to Munich.

Right in the city center, right across from the Frauenkirche. Very good, typically Bavarian food, with generous portions. Top-notch service, fast and punctual. Our waiter was friendly and helpful! Considering the central location and average prices in the area, the bill was reasonable. Highly recommended!

The food is delicious, the service is friendly. The outdoor seating is quite nice. But the prices! Hence only 3*. A shoulder of pork with dumplings and sauerkraut for €25. In the Franconian home of the shoulder of pork, you'll pay €10 less. It's incomprehensible why Munich is so much more expensive than Nuremberg.

Three of us arrived in the evening without a reservation. There was a bit of a queue, so we were expecting something exceptional. We were then seated on the terrace with a view of the church. We ordered and were served fairly quickly; the food was good but not exceptional. Despite this, there were a few negative points. The waitress who took our order wasn't very friendly; we felt a kind of racism towards the French. Furthermore, when we got the bill, the waitress kept the change without asking. In short, this restaurant is not a "must-see" during your visit to Munich.

Had a fabulous experience on our first day in Munich. Our waiter gave us lots of recommendations and talked us through the special dishes and specifically explained what was vegetarian on the menu for my partner. Highly recommend if you want to eat good traditional Bavarian dishes in a laid back setting in the safe hands of the staff, definitely eat here!

Were just passing by and saw a small line outside, so thought we would give it a try. It was fabulous, although no booking and a line, they are so efficient that we were seated within 5 minutes and the staff all had smiles on their faces, service was impeccable just like the food. I had the pork knuckle and it is the best I have ever had. Crackling came off easy and meat was perfectly cooked. My wife had the schnitzel and that was delightful as well. Would 100% recommend for anyone looking for authentic Bavarian food.

The Haxen sausages were crispy and tasty. However, the Nurberg sausages were a bit salty.

Great dinner with family and relatives on a summer evening. Welcoming, friendly, helpful staff throughout. As a group of 7 we were seated downstairs in the vault. Seating also available on ground floor, indoors and on the large patio. Staff helped us proactively to get access with wheelchair through side door and elevator. Great menu and drinks list. Delicious local comfort food, very tasty. Orders were taken without rush and great recommendations. Served quickly given the high level of patrons dining. Excellent service and experience. Highly recommended, we will be back 🍻🍗!

A hot, fresh beer from the wooden barrel, that's where I'm at home. The Klosterwirt is a place where you meet locals and visitors alike, simply a place that makes this wonderful city even more livable.

Hello, We visited your restaurant yesterday. It was our first time in Munich and we were very hungry after a 500-km drive, so we stopped by. I knew the prices would be higher than at home, but charging €30 for a schnitzel with a side dish was truly excessive. The schnitzel was thin, but tasted okay. We were greeted by a young lady who led us into the restaurant and assigned us a seat. Inside, however, the stuffy, unpleasant air made us feel quite nauseous. So we asked if we could sit outside, which they kindly allowed us to. The waiter was a middle-aged man and actually quite nice. Why am I deducting points? For the overpriced food, which filled us like fast food. For the dirty cutlery—five or six of them—that I had to clean with napkins because I didn't even want to know how it was cleaned. We pointed out the dirt, but the response was just "Hmm..." without any apology. Another reason for point deduction: We didn't get a bill. The waiter only showed me the total amount, but no receipt to verify the amount. Honestly, paying €73 for two meals with water is completely excessive in my opinion – especially when it's schnitzel. We were on a trip and I didn't want to make a fuss, but if they charged €73 for a meal like that back home and half the cutlery was dirty in a cutlery container on the table, I would get up and leave. I paid anyway because I didn't want to argue, but your restaurant didn't convince me to come back or give a better review. Whether the price is high or not is up to each individual to judge, but for me, it was clearly overpriced. P.S.: The restroom was also dirty – no one wanted to touch anything there. A good option in the center of Munich. We had two different pork dishes, although the sauce, side dishes, and preparation are very similar. Be careful with the water… it costs almost the same as a beer (€4.20 vs. €4.70).

Place is nice as the service but for the prices I expected a loaded dish 😅. If you hungry maybe eat something before or later. To drink beer is nice. Biergarten is beautiful.

Our last stop of the trip was Munich! We started off with dinner at Augustiner Klosterwirt. I ordered roast pork with dark beer gravy, potato dumpling, and sauerkraut—a Bavarian specialty. This was one of the most delicious meals on the trip! The highlight was the very crispy and flavorful skin. The gravy was also so rich and savory while the acidity of the sauerkraut balanced all the flavors. The pork, sauerkraut, potato dumpling, and gravy made an excellent combination. Augustiner also brews some of the best Weissbeer in Bavaria. Highly recommend!

This is where I would go if I lived in Munich. Exactly what I was looking for.

Scamming customers who don't speak German. We ordered two coffees, we wanted short coffees and they gave us the most expensive coffees on the menu. We paid €9.40.

The food was excellent. Our server did an excellent job and spoke fluently in English. The atmosphere was lively and had a great local feel.

A true traditional Munich brasserie, with welcoming and highly efficient service. The dishes are served very quickly and the portions are generous. A local atmosphere is guaranteed! The dishes are generous and tasty. The only downside is the desserts: the Apple strudel was disappointing.

The best pork chop and potato salad I've ever had. The waiter was incredibly kind. When we mentioned we were rushing to the airport, the dishes were on the table within minutes. If I'm ever in Munich again, I'll definitely be back.

I had lunch with my son there. We had the steak and the pork knuckle which were very good. Although we were able to sit quickly this is a busy place so reservation is recommended. A bit noisy due to the size and the number of people. The beer is also good so try it. The prices are logical for Munich.

We didn't make a reservation, but we only waited a short while for a table for two. The location is perfect, right in front of the Frauenkirche. The service was friendly. Thank you. The food? Absolutely delicious! We'd love to come back! I couldn't eat it all because it was too much for me. I had the rest packed up and ate it the next day, still crispy and delicious! 👍👍👍

Fantastic experience, the food was great. Only thing was a slightly presumptuous waiter. He brought us the biggest desert plate, even after we said no desert! Also he brought me and my male friend the biggest Steins of beer, but assumed my girlfriend wanted a small, when she clearly ordered the big boy! He was hilarious and funny though so I don't want to dog him too much... the food was absolutely fantastic, and so was the desert plate... would recommend.

It's a delicious and beautiful place. It was a fine example of Bavarian cuisine. However, we had to wait in line in the rain to try it. It's a very popular restaurant. We shared a table with strangers. It was very noisy. We tried the veal schnitzel and the German noodle dish, Spätzle (with cheese - item 563 on the menu). I highly recommend it, especially if you don't eat pork.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon/evening at the restaurant! The food was truly fantastic – authentic Bavarian, delicious, and beautifully presented. One small suggestion for improvement would be to expand the menu a bit to offer more variety for repeat guests. I'd like to highlight the waitress, Renate: extremely attentive, friendly, and welcoming – we've rarely experienced such good service! This is a very good restaurant with a very clear English menu and friendly and professional service. Their barrel-brewed lager will completely cheer you up from the aesthetic fatigue of Munich beer. It is an atmospheric restaurant where foreign tourists can come without pressure. Salad with chicken, sausage platter, and fish are the dishes that impressed us the most. Because they are delicious, we didn't have time to take pictures!

I was visiting from the US with my parents and grandparents, and I cannot recommend this place enough. Our host, Geza, took outstanding care of us. I plan on coming back, and, when I do, I will be requesting Geza.

The patio looks over a beautiful square, with the the Frauenkirche church directly across. Listen to the church bells chime, watch people stroll around, and enjoy authentic food. I had the pork with some crackling (wow), served with a potato dumpling, which was perfectly spongy, and sauerkraut, of which Im not a fan of, so I might not be a good judge of. The servers are dressed in traditionally, which adds to the ambiance. We sat outside, but the inside is gorgeous.

The visit has taken place on June 2025. We sat outside and liked the view. The salad was super delicious. The cabbage dish with tiny pieces of maybe bacon in it was very good. The sausage dish was also delicious. The foods were delicious overall but a bit pricey im comparison to portion which is justifiable due to the location. The lady who served us at our table was not happy when we tipped zero… but that should not be a thing in here, the serving, the smiles should not exist only for tipps, the tipping systems should be removed completely. This creates a burden, a bad memory, and a sense of self guilt. I recommend this place and come back only for salad.

The Klosterwirt is a typical Bavarian restaurant, rustic with lots of wood and very high-quality furnishings. Both upstairs and in the basement are very cozy. There are plenty of outdoor seating areas, and you can get a table even without a reservation. The restaurant is clearly geared toward tourists; the waiters speak English and are able to communicate well with foreign guests. The food was delicious, and the roast pork was super crispy. The value for money is good. Our waitress, with her typical Bavarian charm, was very helpful and in a joking mood. The restrooms were very clean during our visit, and the restaurant was full at the time.

I haven't had such a delicious roast in a long time. It was accompanied by a delicious wheat beer. Very reasonable prices and top quality for a "hospot."

Yes, I'm sorry, it was a mistake on my part. To make up for it, I want to point out that we had a very good meal. But if I only gave it a 3/5 rating, it's because when it came time to pay, they pushed me a bit to leave a 10% tip. They said to me, "If I tip 10%, is that okay with you?"

A very good Augustiner in Munich, opposite the cathedral, right in the center. Fast service and Bavarian-style dishes. I recommend it if you're looking for a Bavarian atmosphere. There was no live music when I visited, which meant it wasn't too noisy.

My son and I are in Munich for the first time, and we reserved a table for our first evening. We got it, of course. Unfortunately, it was inside. It was very crowded and therefore very, very loud. My son couldn't stand the noise, started crying, and I decided to leave the place for his sake. I let them know that we were vacating the table because it was already busy outside and many people were waiting for a table. I looked outside for an alternative, and the nice gentleman who assigns tables approached us shortly after and asked if we wanted a table outside, and then invited us back in. Thank you very much for that!! He did grumble a little that we didn't ask if we could sit outside—rightfully so, I just hadn't thought of it :D I deeply respect the service and the effort behind it, and I'm grateful for it. It was much more pleasant and bearable outside. The waiters were also super friendly, loved the kids, and the food was 10/10! If we can get a table there again this week, we'll be back!

The atmosphere is Bavarian, as it should be. The food was good, but why a Bavarian restaurant only serves one dumpling with roast pork is probably the chef's secret. No true Bavarian eats just one dumpling. But I would order it again. Our service was also very friendly and attentive. I will definitely come back.

We enjoyed excellent food and good Aperol Spritz and red wine at a cozy table for two. Despite the busyness, we received plenty of attention and very friendly service. The ambiance on the square in front of the Frauenkirche is wonderful. A highlight of our three-day stay in Munich! We'll definitely be back.

Horrible. We just left after waiting more than 45 minutes to be served by waiters who systematically ignored us every time we called, and we had to leave without eating. The rudeness and lack of professionalism was enormous, a huge disappointment. I do not recommend it at all.

We came as two families with our children, ages 5 and 7. The atmosphere captivated us as soon as we walked in; we knew we'd come to the right place. The food was delicious. We were delighted to be able to sample authentic Bavarian cuisine. On a side note, we were very fortunate that Geza, who took care of us, was very informative about Bavarian cuisine. He went out of his way to help us make the right choice. We'd also like to thank him for his friendly and helpful manner. If I ever return to Munich, I'll definitely dine here again.
