The lunch menu from the daily specials is highly recommended; very tasty and great value. A beautiful view of the small square. The service was very friendly and attentive.

The food was good, but the waiter's attitude was very disappointing. I think he probably hated Asians. He was considerate and served the white people around him in a friendly manner, and even asked "Is the food delicious?" during the meal, but there was no seat for us. We were kept waiting for a long time, whether it was to take our order or to pay, and only started to move when we started speaking German. He asked for a tip, so I paid 1% of the meal, but he even complained about the amount. To top it off, he said later that he would have been fine with 0! It's very unfortunate that racism exists. In order to avoid discrimination, we should also do as the Romans do, and be polite when interacting with other countries and cultures, but the fact that we are discriminated against just because we are Asian, without knowing the person's character, is something that we need to appeal for improvement. It was a disappointing experience that made me think that we need to make an effort on both sides.

This was our second time there, and it was fantastic again. A very nice brewery with delicious food and excellent service. I highly recommend it; we'll be back. 👍

Anyone who is in Munich should definitely visit this old, typical Munich inn. Located directly opposite the entrance to the Frauenkirche, everything your heart desires is offered here. The service greets you very friendly at the door and you will always be smiled at in a friendly manner during your stay. The food is very tasty and the portions are large. Nevertheless, you should leave room for one of the delicious desserts. All in all, highly recommended

Siamo stati in questa locale, un pò scelto di getto senza verificare troppo le recensioni ma siamo rimasti un pò delusi. Quantità/qualità/ prezzo elevati. La cameriera che ci ha fatto accomodare ai tavoli è stata gentilissima, ma quella che ha preso le comande è stata davvero scortese con noi perchè eravamo stranieri e parlava in tedesco anche se sulla targhetta aveva l'indicato che parlava in inglese e faceva la spazientita, con i ragazzi tedeschi affianco invece è stata simpaticona, davvero pessima cameriera. Abbiamo preso: 551 Spalla di maiale croccante arrostita con l'osso, con salsa alla birra scura Agustiner, crauti freschi e canederli di patate (€ 25,90): il pezzo di carne era buono, non mi diceva nulla il canederlo che era molto colloso; 541 Sauerbraten brasato di manzo alla Franconia con salsa di pan forte, canederli di pane e cavolo rosso alla mela (€ 23,90) buono il cavolo e mela, il canederlo non era niente di che e troppa salsa. Creme brulé € 7,50 porzione abbastanza risicata, niente di particolare Radler da ,5l e Hell da 0,5l € costavano cad € 4,60 con parecchia schiuma ma buone. Abbiamo speso €66,50, i prezzi sono alti rispetto a quello che abbiamo mangiato. I tempi di attesa sono veloci, è tutto già pronto.

Nice and quick service even though the cellar was full. Good food, generous portions. Schäufele was good. Unfortunately it's a bit noisy in the vaulted cellar and the tables are very cramped.

After we were guests last year, we had to come back because of the good experience. It was absolutely worth it again. Although it was very busy, as expected, the waiters were super attentive and on their toes, so there was rarely anything like a wait. Greetings and big praise go out to Stefan. In terms of taste and ambience, it's exactly how you would imagine a visit to a typical inn in Munich. There's nothing to complain about here either in terms of price or what's on offer. All in all, definitely recommended, whether to go out for something to eat or just for a beer or two. Thank you for the great evening with you, we will be back 🙂

The girl at the front was very rude , I attempted to sit at two tables one downstairs and one upstairs, both tables refused me to sit there . When I went back up to her she had a serious attitude saying you have to sit with people. That was not an issue , the issue was both available tables refused me to sit. Her response when I told her after making me stand there 10 minutes waiting for her was Go back downstairs there is a table there, extremely rude and dismissive Food was great , the waiter was great, the setting was great but that girl seriously needs to learn how to talk to people.

Located right next to Munich Cathedral. Very nice rustic Augustinian inn, good food, prices for dishes are rather high, drinks/beers are rather cheap. Always very busy, reservations are strongly recommended. I would love to come back.

We came here for dinner before a night out. I had a beer, and the 4 sausage special. The sausages were smaller than I expected. The potato salad was very good, though! Service was good for how busy it was. Was a nice experience but nothing special.

We spontaneously went to this restaurant on a Saturday lunchtime. Since I like to eat spaetzle with good melted onions from time to time, I decided on it. Unfortunately, they didn't live up to my expectations: I found them rather bland in terms of taste, and instead of having a creamy consistency, they were served in a strange sauce that didn't really harmonize. So far we have always been very enthusiastic about the Klosterwirt, unfortunately it didn't work out last Saturday on May 3rd; Service staff were very impersonal and stressed, plates and cutlery were unappetizing and dirty, the potato salt and sauerkraut were significantly worse and less tasty than usual. We will still come back and hope for quality that is appropriate for the price.

The food and ambience were fine. Unfortunately the waiter gave me shit when I was paying. He asked for 45€. I was surprised at the amount and asked for the bill. The invoice showed an amount of €44.80. It's only a succinct 20 cents, but intentionally cheating on a guest is an absolute no-go for me. I then complained to the person who allocates the places. She only regretted the waiter's actions. Here I would have expected, for example, an espresso and a shot on the house. I will no longer visit this restaurant.

food was quite good. place was very very loud and crowded. grateful to eat the traditional food!!! very big portion sizes and reasonable prices. if you come as a couple you will be crammed into a table with strangers which is i guess just part of the fun atmosphere! definitely a lively experience. this is my stunning husband eating the “liver dumpling soup” which i did not like but he did. he finds so much beauty in everything. i would mary him again every minute.

Good restaurant, a bit on the pricey side if I have to be honest. The service was good considering that the restaurant was absolutely packed. However, we were seated pretty quickly! I had the veal schnitzel, which was good, but I was hoping it would be crispier. The warm potato salad was really good and tasty! The man sitting next to us ordered the pork knuckle that was really impressive! So maybe go for that, rather than for the schnitzel!

The male waiter who served me on April 18th at around 5:30 p.m. was very friendly to the German guests, but arrogant towards me (an Asian guest). When I wanted to order or pay for something, he replied: "I don't mind"...otherwise he behaved as if he couldn't understand a word I said, even though we both spoke standard German and everyone else at the table understood me immediately. I will never come to this restaurant again.

My girlfriend and I ate there and it was just ridiculous. You're wondering what exactly I mean by that. Here is the story: The food was good and the place is just authentic. The problem was with a particular waiter who flirted with my girlfriend and treated me like a ghost until I paid for the meal. I ordered food for both of us and he didn't even look me in the eyes, he just looked at my girlfriend. He also came to the table two or three times later and each time asked my girlfriend if it was all right for her. Guess what, he didn't even ask me. My friend also told me later that he winked at her every time. I just think to myself: either he's crazy about young girls, he's lonely, or he's a racist and doesn't want to wait tables for an Asian guy. Personally, I will never eat there again. You're welcome to go there, but you'd better hide your friends from the particular waiter.

Wat een fijn restaurant voor een typische Bayerische maaltijd. Prima eten en heerlijk bier. Zowel de schnitzel als de zwiebelrost braten smaakten prima. Een aanrader!

We had a male waitress who was really very very nice! But the food, I really have no idea. My dish (meat) was totally raw... my partner's food was totally cold. I expect something for these prices.

I ordered three types of sausages and I like two of them. One of them was a little spicy, but it wasn’t my preference. The local pork knuckle was good but their skin was a little hard than crisp. Coffee affogato was pretty good. The Apple strudel was more like a pie than a strudel. The wait person was very nice. She came every now and then to check us out if everything was ok.

In front of the cathedral, this restaurant is a must-see in the city of Munich. The knuckle (I ordered medium and it was huge) is incredible, crunchy and very well prepared. It also comes accompanied by a salad. The beer was perfect, I ordered an Augustiner. The right staff. As a curiosity, Pope Benedict XVI used to have lunch here.

Room under the Munich cathedral. Inside you can eat typical traditional dishes, I tried the pork shank, absolutely recommended. The fact of sitting with strangers is interesting, as there are long benches.

Delicious beer in a rustic restaurant. Disappointed with the food. Mass delivery with overpriced dishes. After complaining, service staff didn't make much of an effort and became invisible. Well attended and loud.

We stopped by for drinks and were told to sit at the bar since we were not eating. The bar near the entrance looked full, so we went downstairs to check the other one. A waitress there showed us a spot at the back with only one stool, which made no sense since there were two of us. So we headed back upstairs and found a high table near the bar that seemed okay to sit at just for drinks. Then we waited for someone to take our order but no one came. We flagged down a waitress who said another colleague had our table. She said she would tell her, but no one showed up. Eventually, we managed to stop the right waitress and ordered two beers. We also asked if she could clean the table because there was mustard on the menus and on the table. She took the menus and the mustard jar but left the table as it was. So we had our beers at a kind of messy table. The beer was good as expected but the service made it hard to enjoy.

Despite the queue at the entrance, we only waited a few minutes. Service was very organized and always friendly and helpful. Beer and food were at the table in no time and were very tasty.

We ordered the House Special so we could try a little bit of everything. It could have been presented better. There was a pile of pork meat all piled up together, which took away the crispiness of the knuckle, which in my opinion was the star of the dish. The sauce was greasy and tasteless. But the house beer was very tasty.

This place was recommended to us by our guide on a walking tour earlier in the day. I thought it was going to be Tourist Trap nonsense, but the food and service was excellent. We are vegetarian so weren’t expecting to have many options, but the vegan currywurst on the menu meant we were able to try out something close to a regional speciality, as well as käse spaetzle and the most delicious red cabbage side dish.

During a trip I stopped at the Augustiner Klosterwirt to have a drink. I received a warm welcome and was offered a place upstairs or downstairs. I decided to sit downstairs, in the basement, directly at the bar where I was also warmly welcomed and served straight away. The atmosphere is great and the beer tastes really good, I'll definitely come back and try the food too.

I have been to the Augustiner Klosterwirt many times and have never been disappointed. The waiters are friendly and quick, no matter how busy it is. The food tastes very tasty. The guest room is very nicely designed. I will definitely come back next time I visit Munich.

We had a very nice male waitress. The gentleman tried very hard to fulfill all of our wishes, from the unusual composition of the food to special requests for the drinks. Food and drinks were served quickly and tasted great. Small note: It would just be nice if the ordered food came together despite the restaurant being full.

An authentic restaurant in traditional Orit.

We had reserved online in advance, which went without any problems and we got a place straight away on site. Our waitress Melina was very accommodating and very friendly, our two children were particularly enthusiastic, there was a coloring sheet including crayons right at the beginning. The food was perfect, the Schäufele was very tender and the side dishes also tasted excellent. That was definitely not the last time. Whenever we are in Munich again, a visit to the Augustiner Klosterwirt will definitely be planned.
