Nachdem wir einen Tag zuvor vom Augustiner Keller sehr enttäuscht waren, haben wir es am Folgetag im Augustiner Klosterwirt. Ohne Reservierung haben wir einen guten Tisch bekommen, wurden sehr freundlich und schnell bedient und das Essen war super lecker! Sehr zu empfehlen 👍

Det er et sted der skal besøges hvid du er til lokal mad. Betjeningen fantastisk. Maden endnu bedre. Der er kælet for detaljerne og det er hjemmelavet mad ned til sidste detalje. Jeg kan varmt anbefale dette sted. Atmosfæren stemningen. Dette sted skal opleves.

Ein eher zufälliger Besuch, da bei bisherigen München-Besuchen dieses schöne Gasthaus nicht auf unserer Route lag; eigentlich war immer das Stammhaus auf der Kaufinger Straße unser Ziel gewesen. Den einzigen Abzug gibts nur wegen der sehr hektischen Atmosphäre an diesem Samstag, ansonsten ein rundum gelungener früher Abend, der sich dann bei einer spontanen sehr amüsanten Tischgesellschaft mehr als ursprünglich beabsichtigt hinzog. Supernette Bedienungen, leckeres Helles und ein hervorragendes Schäufele (auch unerwartet in München), alles in angemessenem preislichen Rahmen. Schöne Aussentische am Kirchplatz. Gern bis zum nächsten Mal!

Location is good as in the center of old town, food is good, service is great. Order the set food, apple pie is very tasty.

La birreria è di fronte alla entrata della cattedrale come da abitudine ci siamo seduti ad un tavolone con altri commensali. Birra buonissima. Mia moglie ha mangiato merluzzo fritto buono, mia figlia cotoletta molto buona e tenera io uno stinco intro cotto nella birra scura. La porzione è enorme più di 1 kg a mio parere, a malincuore non sono riuscito a finirlo consiglio la mezza porzione. Stinco buono. Nel complesso mi sento di consigliare questa storica birreria

It was a really good choice for dinner. Food was incredible. I order cochinillo and it was crispy and soft. The sausages were good and the liver meatball soup as well. The cream brûlée was also good. We order also two beers and two aperol spritz and everything was 70 euros

The pig's feet are not too salty but the meat is very chewy But the waiters are all pretty and nice people. The atmosphere in the store is good

Very friendly and attentive service! Even when there is a huge rush, everyone keeps an overview and the focus is always on the customer. The food and beer are excellent 🍻 Only the ambience inside suffers a bit due to the background noise, but otherwise an absolute recommendation.

The food was very, very good and served quickly. Waitress very friendly, but it took some time before we could order because it was very busy. We sat inside in the summer and unfortunately it was far too hot. Ambience was typical Bavarian tavern, a bit too loud.

The food is basically pork. I'm vegetarian, but I still managed to eat a good dish. The draft beer was perfect and the dessert is unforgettable, an apple strudel with ice cream and whipped cream, unforgettable. The place has been there since around the year 1300, the atmosphere is quite different to outsiders. I recommend the experience to anyone in Munich.

The first and (unfortunately) last visit there. We had reserved a table and were seated at our table. And unfortunately that was it. We waited 20 minutes. Without a food or drink menu and without any service contact - not even a wave. Guests who arrived after us had already ordered their food at this time.

Augustiner Klosterwirt is the epitome of a traditional Bavarian tavern, offering an unforgettable Southern German dining experience. We had the house special platter, which included two types of braised pork with perfectly crisp skin, a delicious dark beer gravy, three different types of regional sausages, regular and red cabbage sauerkraut, potato dumplings, and a Wiener schnitzel. Every dish was cooked to perfection—tender, succulent, and seasoned exquisitely. The service was equally impressive; our friendly waiter ensured that our beers and food arrived almost immediately after ordering, despite the bustling atmosphere. Highly recommend for an authentic taste of Bavaria!

Good German cuisine, service is friendly and fast despite the high number of guests. You sit on top of each other a lot but - for me - not particularly bad. (Maybe not ideal for a first date😄)

I've been to the HB in Munich several times, but this is my first time at the Augustiner. There is definitely a much more relaxed atmosphere here. What surprised me is the speed of operation. Within what felt like 5 minutes I was seated, my order taken and a drink brought with my meal. And with 0% hectic. The knuckle is delicious in both HB and Augustiner. The draft beer tastes great in both stores :) I would happily recommend this Augustiner for a relaxed dinner.

It's well established restaurant in heart of Munich downtown with authentic German cuisine. It's within the high street market. Indoor and outdoor seating. Two floors with mixed individual and big sharing tables. Full bar in downstairs. Foods are German sausages, soups and meaty dishes. Clear Veggie section in menu. Good variety of beers. Ambience is great with quick service and English speaking staff. Easy accessible with flat entry and wide routes. Good for groups, gathering and meetups. Free street parking and paid parking lots available around the plaza.

Amazing food. Have to get the käsespätzle and the Nuremberg sausage they are incredible. We went out to dinner twice here while staying in Munich because it was that good. We had Niklas as our waiter and he was so helpful and pleasant to speak with. He recommended food and activities for after dinner. You must come to this place. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Munich.

Accommodated quickly. Average service. The food is well below average. If this is Bavarian cuisine, it's a miracle that Bavarian people didn't go extinct.

Ordered the House menu and salad, total disappointment. The soup was tasteless. The pork was a disaster, very hard. The sausages, nothing special! The salad and dessert was okay. Overall, I didn’t enjoy it at all. Very busy restaurant you ended up sharing a table. Service is slow as there are too many people. Bavarian food is mediocre. Overhyped, tourist trap. Will never recommend the place.

Flies all over the food. Really disgusting. Waiter did nothing.

The salad was very tasty. However, I would advise against yogurt dressing. This was way too milky. Vinegar oil was pleasant. The waitress had a bad day and took a long time to set the table. The whole place was full. Nevertheless, we didn't wait long for our food.👍🏻

it was very tasty, the waiters are friendly, there are always customers in the establishment who enjoy delicious dishes and a friendly atmosphere. inside the institution is very nice and atmospheric. if you come here, you won't be disappointed, we ordered ice cream and a meat plate)

We went without a reservation and they served us right away. Good quality food and fast service. It was the first restaurant where we saw that they offered several fish dishes (I recommend the salmon trout) apart from the typical meat dishes typical of Bavarian cuisine.

It's amazing how they tap a barrel every 15-20 minutes, from which they tap the beer! The food is brilliantly delicious!

A classic German restaurant, it's a good idea to drink beer while looking at the square. But there is a lot of demand. They don't have many tables outside. You feel uncomfortable.

I ordered a dish called “Journey through Bavarian Cuisine,” or something like that. It was really excellent, especially the crispy and very tasty crust of the pork knuckle. The service was friendly and attentive. Absolutely recommended!

I was recommended this place as one of the best in the city to try traditional Bayern food — and, although I did have a good time, I wouldn’t say it was as outstanding. Partially, because of the service — it makes up a big part of experience, and I felt mostly disregarded at this place. No relevant recommendations on the menu, and rather ignorant attitude overall. The portions are quite small as well, and overpriced (I reckon due to the very central location) — my dinner added up to almost 28€, which is two small appetizers and a glass of wine.

Went there again yesterday at lunchtime while visiting Munich, got a seat quickly without having to wait long and also didn't have to wait long for the food. Great beer, great Schäuferle and Spätzle eaten. Cozy traditional atmosphere, friendly & attentive service, we were satisfied and well fed.

Today I was there again and I can only underline my description. Try the baked goat cheese on lentil salad. Indescribably delicious! And the excellent Augustiner non-alcoholic. This is heaven for Munich residents The portions are plentiful, the prices are reasonable for downtown Munich, the service is perfect, really friendly and helpful. The location in the middle of the pedestrian central. Even when it's full, the guest always comes first. I can recommend Schäufele at any time. The meat is tender, the crust is crispy and the dumplings are fine

Unfortunately the knuckle was very dry and the boiled beef was a bit low. But nice service, great ambience and recommended for a visit to Munich

We stopped by for a light lunch and shared a schnitzel. Our meal was good, the service was friendly and efficient, and the ambiance was fun and energetic.

I went to eat alone :) It was recommended to me as the best beer so I tried it. When I saw the color, I thought it would be light and bland, but was it really refreshing and nutty? It tasted great. The beer is really delicious! The food was average, but the atmosphere and service were all very good. Since it was the last day of my trip, I ate quietly at an outdoor table, but the inside, especially the basement, was full of energy.

I just want to give a shoutout to Stephanie who assisted us with our order - she was very accommodating, friendly and an amazing all rounder. After she gave us our order, she checked how our food was and even let us know that she has already ended her shift and her colleague Philip is taking over to help us with our dessert who was also very lovely. Food is chef’s kiss! 👌🏻🤌🏻 We had a very awful experience in Hofbrauhaus so coming here is refreshing. I probably don't fully understand the authenticity of Bavarian cuisine, but Of the pluses: • a large portion (it is possible for two, or just ask for 1/2 portion, in Bavarian it is ok) • good location • waiters are friendly Of the cons: • boarding queues again • the kitchen is very mediocre • normal beer • the price, in my opinion, is a little high

Some friends and I went on the recommendation of another friend, to eat knuckle. Very good service and food. We tried the knuckle and it was very tasty. Great variety of beer and different sizes. The place is very big. It is better to reserve but if you go there and wait in line the wait is not more than 20 minutes.

Beautiful restaurant in a very touristic spot. It's a very busy place but the service is very quick, the food is great value for money and tasty, and the staff is efficient. There are plenty of seats on different floors, so it accommodates a lot of people.

I just had the best sauerbraten that I’ve ever had. My sister had pollack breaded with pretzel crust and that was great, too. The atmosphere was a lot of fun, too— we sat in the middle of a long table and interacted with those around us.

We came twice during our stay in Munich, the waiters and waitresses are friendly, the beers are good and there are quite a few options to eat. There are a lot of people but we always come to find out if your beer is finished!

Visited a number of classic German beer halls. This is one of my favorites the pork knuckles are huge!

We only drank a beer and didn't eat anything. The ambience is really great, you can hear the bubbling of the fountain. Toilets are numerous and very clean. There are a lot of tables outside!
