We were there for the candle light dinner. The food was very tasty, beautifully presented and prepared with love. The service was very good and we were served extremely courteously. It was a bit chaotic at times when it came to serving food, but at the end of the day it was a great visit and a very nice evening.

We were there on 10/26/24. Our waiter was really great. Personally, I found it a bit expensive for the price/performance. The duck, however, was really very good. I wouldn't order the Kaiserschmarrn again. Too heavy for me. I ate much better food there. Unfortunately, the plum roaster couldn't convince me either. The Kaiserschmarrn is enough for at least three people. It's really a lot.

Friday November 1st, 2024 spontaneously had something with the family in the beer garden - super friendly and attentive service - Mr. Nico was always friendly, quick and attentive (despite all the hectic pace and sometimes impossible guests)! Highly recommended

Bavarian cuisine to perfection. The dishes are outstanding, there is nothing more to say here. And that comes from someone from Munich.

On the occasion of my birthday, my husband invited me to lunch here. And what should I say? Great. The non-alcoholic melon drink was fresh and fruity and addictive and the soup with the oxtail ravioli was stunningly good. The pike perch with herb foam and venison and the good spaghettini. Wonderful, delicious. In terms of taste and for the eye. The very attentive gentleman from the service gave us a perfect welcome with a smile and humor. We will be back and can recommend the Schwaige with traditional Munich cuisine - interpreted in a new and very tasty way. Almost like a little vacation, the 2 hours flew by in a flash. 😊

Very attentive service. Price-performance ratio is not right here for me. Alternative food due to food allergies (announced in advance, there were several discussions here) has nothing to do with the originally published menu. Bread basket only on request. It's a shame, I expected a lot more. Not recommendable.

We were really looking forward to the so-called “romantic” candlelight dinner in the Schwaige Castle Restaurant. What was sold as a special experience was nothing more than a complete failure. The room was far too bright - and not in a comfortable way. The service was simply catastrophic. The service was very unfriendly and anything but attentive. For what we were offered here, the price was an absolute disgrace. We spent way too much money on a miserable experience. You simply feel ripped off. All in all, this candlelight dinner was a huge disappointment. It was neither romantic nor enjoyable - just annoying. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone! Hands off!

Please don't let the reviews unsettle you. Although the restaurant is located at Nymphenburg Castle, the restaurant has nothing to do with a typical tourist restaurant. The menu contains Bavarian classics but also more unusual dishes. There are also various options for vegetarians, not just the classic cheese spaetzle. We had the duck burger and the pumpkin ravioli. Food really tip top. I can't immediately think of a restaurant in the area that serves such good food. We will definitely come back next time we visit the castle.

We spent a very nice evening there. Eating in the dark. You learn to use your senses and are also told very nice stories that are not read!

The food was mega! So far we have always opted for the lunch menu, which you can view online in advance on the website. The price-performance ratio is also great when you pay €19.60 for a 3-course menu and with such quality. Always happy and highly recommended. Attached is a picture of the desert

We had a fabulous lunch today in the Schlosswirtschaft's beer garden. The pulled duck burger tastes fantastic and the roast pork from straw pigs is also worth recommending. The service is very friendly and attentive and we really like the atmosphere there. We'll definitely be back.

We had a candle light dinner for two as a three-course menu, including sparkling wine. The waitress was very nice and immediately asked about any adjustments to the meal or allergies. For the main course there were two dishes to choose from. Everything was very tasty and we can only recommend it.

Excellent restaurant in Nymphenburg Castle. The restaurant is very cozy and the food is fantastic. The staff are very friendly. A reservation is recommended. There are plenty of free parking spaces available.

A dignified restaurant in a side building of Nymphenburg Palace. The quality of the food leaves nothing to be desired. Of course this has its price. All dishes are freshly prepared. The staff is very accommodating.

The portions are very small but also very expensive. However, the restaurant is very nice.

Luckilly this restaurant is located near one of the most beautiful places in Munich and probably one of the most busiest touristic areas. Sadly, there is no below 0 ratig so i can rate the stuff and how rude and arrogant they behave with people which are not local. If you are near Schloss Nymphenburg, please avoid this place.

A wedding celebration in Schwaige was a complete success. The very good food and the perfect service is commendable.

We had booked the candle light dinner with 5 courses here. The courses are really a very generous size and after the 5 courses you will be more than full. Every course was a highlight, everything tasted great! The ambience was very calm and flooded with candlelight. We had a really nice evening here and can only recommend the candle light dinner here!

We wanted to enjoy coffee and dessert, but were turned away because they didn't have that, even though it was on the menu. Were referred to the nearest pastry shop.

Unbelievable! There were three of us and we wanted to eat something after taking a walk in the castle park. A waiter told us to go to the waiting area because we came through the back garden. So we went to the waiting area and then a man came (probably the owner of the restaurants) and we asked him if he still had room for three people. Without thinking or looking for a single second, he said: “Unfortunately no” with a non-serious look. Before that, we walked through the restaurant once and it was clear that there were enough Seats inside and outside. Half the restaurant was empty and he didn't even look to see if there was still a seat available somewhere. Outrageous!!

Upon entering the restaurant we were immediately told there were no free tables left without even checking. But only 20% of the tables were occupied. This dry and unfriendly treatment probably has a racist background. What a shame!

We celebrated our wedding in the Schwaige Castle Restaurant. The planning and implementation went smoothly and very positively. The contact was always friendly. The food and service are simply great! Thank you for the great day.

The waiter, who has supposedly been working here for 11 years, is very, very unfriendly and rude. I haven't experienced anything like that in a long time.

The best duck I've ever eaten. It's expensive but justified. The food is worth every penny.

A gourmet restaurant basic with Bavaria delicacy. Good location where right next to Palace. Nice beer garden with adequate service, certainly the price is higher than regular. The beer garden is fully covered by threes so that guarantees guests enjoy comfortable dining. My husband ordered Beef roll that was really tasty, but the red cabbage is too sweet to eat. I had fried sliced Celery for vegetarian. The desserts are absolutely the highlight ！ Pear ice with chocolate mouse and small sponge cake and heavy cream. Two main courses were in general delicious. For my dish I think of three pieces of Celery which I had never thought about so simple as that, and they cost more than €22！ What a surprise ⋯ it’s really pricey ！ Well, so if I knew in advance then I would rather order Flamm Kuchen instead.

Impossible service. Despite many free places, we were probably not welcome as paying guests. We have truly never experienced such rude treatment. We can recommend continuing to the Augustiner Wirtshaus. We received a warm welcome there and experienced the exact opposite.

Five of us came and were greeted in a completely unfriendly and condescending manner. We then went somewhere else to eat.

A very pleasant restaurant that is decorated in a traditional and typically Bavarian style. Large indoor space and a nice beer garden if you want to dine outside.

The food here was excellent. All the dishes we ordered, they were the best version of that that I've tried in Germany. Quite pricey, but I didn't think it was anything extreme. A couple of the meat dishes were quite pricey, but you could also get a flatbread pizza or a soup for less than 15 Euro. Even small things like the potato salad were quite delicious. I would recommend if you're looking to have a nice dinner with your family or friends, and don't mind spending a little more for a special occasion.

The three of us wanted to have lunch with you today. The older gentleman/waiter outside at reception greeted us unfriendly as soon as we arrived in the guest garden and was extremely annoyed with us. When we asked if we could eat indoors because of the wasps, we just grumbled and obviously didn't seem to like it. Once inside, we were literally told in a very unfriendly tone which tables we weren't allowed to sit at. The reasons were not given and it seemed quite random as the indoor area was almost empty due to the good weather. Since we didn't know exactly what his problem was, we asked him about it several times. Every answer here was more than unfriendly and rude. Because of this we decided to eat somewhere else. We have often been guests of this hotel in the past and are therefore really disappointed to have been treated so disrespectfully. This is how you successfully scare away paying guests - what a shame!!

We had an event in Munich in July 2024. The choice of restaurant fell on Schwaige. That was the best decision. We were able to use the cozy side room for 2 evenings with 20 women. Very tasty, in addition to the “standard dishes” there is also a good selection of daily specials, prices are at Munich level, a little higher than you might otherwise be familiar with. But friendly staff, we would go there again.

Once again wonderful food and good wine. The beer garden is a real insider tip for us because it is nice and quiet - there is no big traffic and the staff is very accommodating.

Admittedly, our expectations were very high - unfortunately they were not met. Saturday evening of a wonderful summer day in this beautiful ambience. Nothing can really go wrong. Unfortunately, we can't say anything good about the food: the meat patties are not enough - please change the recipe, you can't bring that. The Wiener Schnitzel was ok at a high price of €34 - I have eaten it much better in cheaper restaurants, i.e. crispier and more tender. You should be able to do that better too. First impression: Great on the outside, but (unfortunately) just ok on the inside

Amazing place! Stumbled upon here randomly after a full morning exploring the Nymphenburg palace and park. The food was fantastic! Got the Schnitzel, tomatoes with chanterelles and apple strudel for dessert. Best of yet of the Munich trip!

Top food, fresh and excellently prepared. Very good schnitzel, great risotto and the tarte flambée was also great! Attentive service and a really cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended 🤗 We are already looking forward to our next visit!

We were looked after excellently by the service staff, thank you very much 😊 and felt very comfortable in the beautifully designed beer garden. The food was super delicious with fresh ingredients and creative preparation. The Wiener Schnitzel was a hit and so was the crispy fried celery schnitzel (don't drizzle the lemon on it like you would with the fish 🙉 at that point it won't be crispy anymore). If you can still have dessert: Pear Helene 😋 We will definitely come back. 💯% recommended 👍

Very friendly staff, very nicely located, very tasty food. Many Bavarian classics but beautifully implemented and some new ones defined.

Incredibly rude stuff. We had to wait at the entrance 10-15 mins for someone to even look at us. And the place was half closed, with very few tables. I would understand this if the place would have been full with people but that was not the case. And once someone finally came to us, this person was behaving like we have shown at his place uninvited. Customer service is clearly something they need to learn about. I would (and will) avoid this place. We have been there before and every time we have experienced a bad customer service. Such a pity considering the location..

Today I went to Hellabrun Zoo with my partner and had another delicious meal. The food and service were again impeccable. Only the Kaiserschmarren was too much. 😉

This restaurant seems to be trying to appear luxurious, but in reality is nothing like it.. The food was average at best. At last the waiter just added 10% tip to the bill without question and told me to pay..

Almost the whole place was empty and there was no space available, the beer garden was all free but there was no space, it's a shame I wouldn't recommend it

We were seated and then ignored for 10 minutes, even though there was only one other family at the restaurant. We weren’t even given a menu. Two members of staff were slowly folding napkins while we were sitting right in front of them. When we realized that we weren’t going to be served, we got up and walked out and no one tried to stop us. I would advise you to avoid this tourist trap and support kind service only.

We just had something to drink, very tasty, very nice atmosphere and very, very nice service!

Be extremely careful here. First, they didn’t bring me the potato salad that was supposed to be served in the order, then at the next table they cheated a diner, and the cherry on the cake: they charged 10 times more money from my card! I had to come here again and demand a refund.

The Schweinshaxe was delicious. Appropriate setting for an epic experience.

I kept looking at it from the moment I entered. Half a duck and 3 glasses of salad beer. The taste is good, but the service is not so good. There were other spacious seats, but they sat down at the same table as the customer who had left while waiting and ate on the dirty table. There were so many flies that I could barely eat while fanning myself while eating. When I tried to calculate it, they said they could only give me the recipe if I paid for it. It was 60.7 euros, so I generously gave them 100 euros. Then, they used a miraculous calculation method and gave me 22.3 euros back. If I took it without thinking, I was right. I called them again and told them that I made a mistake in the calculation. They refused to give me 10 more euros, so I typed it out on the calculator and showed it to them. They looked at the receipt with a skeptical look and eventually gave it to me.

We were satisfied with the food. Also with our waiter. The boss should get some training in dealing with customers. There wasn't an isolated case with us. The sound makes the music boss:-)

Gemütliche Einrichtung, sehr tüchtige und freundliche Kellner. Den meisten von unserer Gesellschaft hat das hochpreisige Essen gut geschmeckt: Der riesige Flammkuchen, das ansprechende Risotto, der wohlschmeckende Saibling und die besonders leckeren Rouladen. Nur die Leber war mehr als enttäuschend: 3 winzige, dünner Rhomben ca. 10 cm lang, trocken und durchgebraten, auf einem Berg Blaukraut neben leicht angebranntem Kartoffelpüree (dezent nach unten verstecket). Zudem noch kalt. Die Reklamation verhallte in der Küche ungehört. Angesichts des hohen Preises war diese Gericht mehr als mangelhaft!

Rich and fresh! I was here by chance with the family and we got a table in the garden, the food was delicious and the portions of roast pork were abundant, the price is a little high but it's worth it, the waiter who served us was very friendly and willing to help with a smile!

We celebrated our wedding in the castle restaurant in silence. We are completely satisfied with everything from the arrangement and organization to the food and ambience. Everything went great and we had a wonderful day. The food was only praised by the guests. The apple strudel was particularly well received. We would do everything the same again. Many thanks to Ms. Forstner, who planned and implemented everything with us.

Well, today I had to be silent for a moment too. A really, really nice restaurant with a great beer garden and very good food... if it hadn't been for the very poor service... we waited a very long time for our food that we didn't get as ordered. According to the menu, the Wiener Schnitzel was also available in a small portion, which the waiter denied. The waiter was totally overwhelmed with the few tables! Not once was we asked if it was okay or if we needed something (e.g. new drinks) after 1.5 hours... No apology, no "goodbye" We should have done the same as the other guests and left after 20 minutes of ignoring them. It's a shame, but in Munich you can behave like that. Such good cuisine (great tarte flambée, good schnitzel, very good 2-course lunch menu with risotto) also needs a functioning, friendly service!

Very tasty food for our first wedding anniversary. Received a candlelight dinner from Jochen Schweizer.

The beer garden is very nice and is of course ideally located next to the castle. We thought the food was ok, but nothing more. The waiter was a bit inattentive, so the wrong soup came. There was bread with the soup, but strangely enough it was completely put into the soup. The schnitzel was good, it came with cranberries, but they were either mixed with alcohol or so old that they were fermented, if that's possible 🤔 I doubt whether the schnitzel was worth almost 35 euros. We won't go there again because it didn't really convince us for the high price.

Food was ok, Kaiserschmarrn was delicious but extremely oily (was much better before). But what shocked me was how expensive the dishes have become since they changed the menu. Not worth it unfortunately..

Although there were still a few tables available, it was rude to be sent away as only food guests and not guests who only wanted drinks were given priority.

A nice beer garden in itself. The food was good but overpriced. The whole time you had the feeling that the waiters were stressed and overwhelmed. We were brought to our table without a nice greeting and very unfriendly, and the good service was limited. And the wrong drink was served.
