Were there for dinner in the dark. The food was great, as was the waiter and the storyteller. The overall presentation of the event was impressive!

One of the best ducks we have ever eaten, very friendly service, nice location. As always with nice things, a little crowded, but well regulated and therefore not squat or loud.

It was very tasty, especially the fish from the daily menu.

I don't write reviews too often, but today I would like to praise the service! I have rarely experienced such attentive and courteous staff anywhere as at Schwaige! Keep it up! (The food was of course also very good!)

The most professional gastronomy far and wide, with excellent Bavarian service. With the two portions of Kaiserschmarrn, she brings forks for everyone in the group of colleagues and lots of small plates - without being asked. She also put the tables together for us... nothing could be missing. Just professionals. The food is always of the correct standard, including vegetarian. Prices here in the Schloßwirtschaft as well as at the other top locations in Munich such as the Chinese Tower, for example.

Very good Bavarian food. Big portion for “big” money. But price/performance fits. Staff was very friendly. Surprisingly good for a tourist hot spot. We'd love to come back (as "locals").

Nice, sophisticated atmosphere in a traditional restaurant that I first visited over 40 years ago. I was recently able to get a current picture for myself at a family celebration. Only very few people are able to maintain consistently good quality over such a long period of time. The Schwaige is not a place for experiments, but it stands for reliably good quality and how should we put it, intimacy on a higher level, which the service ensures. The guests seemed grateful and very happy for this. No matter whether it was pike perch, roast pork, celery schnitzel, everything tasted delicious. There are only deductions because of my "böfflamott" or boeuf à la mode, an import of Bavarian cuisine from France. Very delicately presented with a delicious sauce, unfortunately there was a much too dry, long-cooked piece of beef shoulder hidden underneath. Something went wrong during the preparation, it can happen. The subsequent dessert, a crème brulee with pear pieces in the puree and served with ice cream, was more than sumptuous and was hardly manageable after the main course. Overall a very nice experience.

Wir haben gestern unseren mydays Gutschein , Candle Light Dinner, eingelöst. Wir saßen in einem separaten Raum mit Paaren an 2er und 4er Tischen, die alle sehr schön eingedeckt waren. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam, das 3-Gang Menü sehr gut und das Ambiente schön. Wir kommen gerne wieder, allerdings dann nicht via mydays Gutschein, da wir zum Abschluss den Essensgutschein gegenzeichneten und die Differenz zum ursprünglichen Gutscheinsbetrag erschien uns hoch.

I rented the small Max Emanuel Hall for a private event and I have to thank those responsible again for this. The preparation process was uncomplicated and highly professional, the execution on the day of the event went perfectly, and the same applies to the service provided by the service staff on site. The food also made all the guests very happy and tasted excellent - I only received very positive feedback, which I would like to pass on to all employees and those responsible in the Schwaige Nymphenburg Castle Restaurant. Highly recommended and would love to come back again. From spring onwards, the beer garden in the courtyard is particularly attractive.

Were here today for the candlelight dinner. The food was good. The service excellent. However, we imagined the ambience to be a little more romantic. Too pressed and a little too little privacy. But all in all a nice evening.

We booked a Candle Light dinner via their website to celebrate my partner’s birthday. We loved our time there, and appreciated particularly the kind and thoughtful service. Would definitely recommend this for a nice celebration.

The food is very good, the service staff is friendly and accommodating and the prices are fair

Luckily we had a side room for our alumni meeting alone most of the time. This makes it perfect for ratcheting. The vegan celery schnitzel was very good, a few more vegan dishes would be nice. Unfortunately no vegan desserts.

Service was very nice, but seemed a bit inexperienced. Ambiance is very good, unfortunately the food is anything but okay for the price. The Wiener Schnitzel for 33 euros was completely flaxy, the cabbage with bacon was so overcooked that it was more of a puree. Even the pretzel was rock hard and significantly worse than any bakery. The pumpkin in the salad also appears to have been neither cooked nor fried and was rock hard. All in all, for a hefty sum of over 200 euros for 5 people, it was a very disappointing visit.

The place was nice, the staff were welcoming, didn't like the soup much, I found it to be pricey too, the flammkuche was alright, I thought the orange juice is freshly squeezed but no, in general it's nice, I liked the decor the candle lights, also it helped me relax a bit after visiting the palace, I just sat there charged my phone, watched a movie, and ate, was good

Had a wonderful experience dining here. Salad was delicious (never thought pumpkin could taste so good) and duck/fish were equally notable! And a special nod to Gerhard who spoke both english and bavarian and was able to guide us through gluten free options in the menu!

Die Gaststätte ist nah an dem Schloss Nymphenburg und bietet höherwertige Speisen und Preise an. Wir hatten heute Mittag Appetit auf einen Flammkuchen und Spinatspätzle und beides hat uns richtig gut geschmeckt. Das Ambiente ist gepflegt und angenehm entspannt gewesen.

Always my pleasure! We were warmly welcomed by the service manager and brought to the table. The restaurant is really comfortable to sit in and has a lovely atmosphere. The service is also very good and courteous. Our highlight was the food - everything was really perfect!

We had reserved a table for a birthday dinner. Even though we had a reservation, we were seated in the inn. At the bar. The employees are all friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately for us, neither the uncovered wooden table nor the loud surroundings had anything festive about it. It's a shame, I saw the beautiful festive tables online and thought we could give them a try. It must be said here that you want to go to the restaurant. No recommendation from me.

Great restaurant, first class service and very tasty, only the price is a little too high, but since you're almost eating in the castle, it's definitely justifiable for special occasions.

The food is reasonably delicious and the interior is nice. Food also comes out quickly. however! Service causes ‘loss’ of ‘humanity’. One particular employee was enough to make me feel depressed by carelessly throwing the menu and a beer mug coaster on the table👍 However, other employees were tactful and kind, which made it even better. Seeing the staff not even saying hello as I left... my values, which I thought were good only for good food in a restaurant, were completely shaken🥲

This was my first time dining in Germany and I encountered such unreasonable treatment, let alone a restaurant that had won Michelin. The waiter accidentally spilled soup on my pants when serving the meal. He only gave me a wet cloth and asked me to deal with it myself. There was no apology until the meal was finished and I left (at least I didn't hear an apology in English). The food is a bit expensive and not suitable for Asian people's stomach. It's a bit too salty. It is recommended to dine here when you have spare money.

Very nice restaurant with a clear menu with seasonal and regional dishes. Reservations are recommended during peak times. We only had something warm and dessert. But the other things looked very good from a distance.

Simply perfect, as you would expect... to spontaneously get even a large group together at a long table and to make them happy after the tour of the castle with perfect service and very good taste... keep it up

We were there for the candle light dinner. The food was very tasty, beautifully presented and prepared with love. The service was very good and we were served extremely courteously. It was a bit chaotic at times when it came to serving food, but at the end of the day it was a great visit and a very nice evening.

We were there on 10/26/24. Our waiter was really great. Personally, I found it a bit expensive for the price/performance. The duck, however, was really very good. I wouldn't order the Kaiserschmarrn again. Too heavy for me. I ate much better food there. Unfortunately, the plum roaster couldn't convince me either. The Kaiserschmarrn is enough for at least three people. It's really a lot.

Friday November 1st, 2024 spontaneously had something with the family in the beer garden - super friendly and attentive service - Mr. Nico was always friendly, quick and attentive (despite all the hectic pace and sometimes impossible guests)! Highly recommended

Bavarian cuisine to perfection. The dishes are outstanding, there is nothing more to say here. And that comes from someone from Munich.

On the occasion of my birthday, my husband invited me to lunch here. And what can I say? Great. The non-alcoholic melon drink was fresh and fruity and addictive and the soup with the oxtail ravioli was stunningly good. The pike perch with herb foam and venison and the good spaghettini. Wonderful, delicious. In terms of taste and for the eye. The very attentive gentleman from the service gave us a perfect welcome with a smile and humor. We will be back and can recommend the Schwaige with traditional Munich cuisine - interpreted in a new and very tasty way. Almost like a little vacation, the 2 hours flew by in a flash. 😊

We were really looking forward to the so-called “romantic” candlelight dinner in the Schwaige Castle Restaurant. What was sold as a special experience was nothing more than a complete failure. The room was far too bright - and not in a comfortable way. The service was simply catastrophic. The service was very unfriendly and anything but attentive. For what we were offered here, the price was an absolute disgrace. We spent way too much money on a miserable experience. You simply feel ripped off. All in all, this candlelight dinner was a huge disappointment. It was neither romantic nor enjoyable - just annoying. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone! Hands off!

Very attentive service. Price-performance ratio is not right here for me. Alternative food due to food allergies (announced in advance, there were several discussions here) has nothing to do with the originally published menu. Bread basket only on request. It's a shame, I expected a lot more. Not recommended.

Please don't let the reviews unsettle you. Although the restaurant is located at Nymphenburg Castle, the restaurant has nothing to do with a typical tourist restaurant. The menu contains Bavarian classics but also more unusual dishes. There are also various options for vegetarians, not just the classic cheese spaetzle. We had the duck burger and the pumpkin ravioli. Food really tip top. I can't immediately think of a restaurant in the area that serves such good food. We will definitely come back next time we visit the castle.

The food was mega! So far we have always opted for the lunch menu, which you can view online in advance on the website. The price-performance ratio is also great when you pay €19.60 for a 3-course menu and with such quality. Always happy and highly recommended. Attached is a picture of the desert

We had a fabulous lunch today in the Schlosswirtschaft's beer garden. The pulled duck burger tastes fantastic and the roast pork from straw pigs is also worth recommending. The service is very friendly and attentive and we really like the atmosphere there. We'll definitely be back.

We had a candle light dinner for two as a three-course menu, including sparkling wine. The waitress was very nice and immediately asked about any adjustments to the meal or allergies. For the main course there were two dishes to choose from. Everything was very tasty and we can only recommend it.

Excellent restaurant in Nymphenburg Castle. The restaurant is very cozy and the food is fantastic. The staff are very friendly. A reservation is recommended. There are plenty of free parking spaces available.

Das sehr schöne und edle wirkende Restaurant war das 3. Mal der passende Ausklang des Besuchs meines geliebten Schlosses Nymphenburg. 2x war ich zufrieden. Dieses Mal wurde mir ein Katzentisch zugewiesen. Sehr arrogant dann darauf hingewiesen, ich solle bitte keinen 6er-Tisch wählen. Leider macht man solche Erfahrung als alleinstehende ältere Frau immer wieder mal. Die 1/4 Ente war furztrocken, die Haut dünn und nicht resch. Offensichtlich in der Mikrowelle aufgewärmt. Wein und Apfelküchl versöhnten etwas. Insgesamt leider eine Enttäuschung wider Erwarten.

A dignified restaurant in a side building of Nymphenburg Palace. The quality of the food leaves nothing to be desired. Of course this has its price. All dishes are freshly prepared. The staff is very accommodating.

The portions are very small but also very expensive. However, the restaurant is very nice.

Luckilly this restaurant is located near one of the most beautiful places in Munich and probably one of the most busiest touristic areas. Sadly, there is no below 0 ratig so i can rate the stuff and how rude and arrogant they behave with people which are not local. If you are near Schloss Nymphenburg, please avoid this place.

Das Personal war eingebildet und unfreundlich, anfangs wurden wir am Eingang mehrfach ignoriert bis man uns dann einen Tisch gegeben hat. Das Essen war alles andere als gut, der Preisklasse nicht entsprechend und sehr enttäuscht.

A wedding celebration in Schwaige was a complete success. The very good food and the perfect service is commendable.

We had booked the candle light dinner with 5 courses here. The courses are really a very generous size and after the 5 courses you will be more than full. Every course was a highlight, everything tasted great! The ambience was very calm and flooded with candlelight. We had a really nice evening here and can only recommend the candle light dinner here!

We wanted to enjoy coffee and dessert, but were turned away because they didn't have that, even though it was on the menu. Were referred to the nearest pastry shop.

Unbelievable! There were three of us and we wanted to eat something after taking a walk in the castle park. A waiter told us to go to the waiting area because we came through the back garden. So we went to the waiting area and then a man came (probably the owner of the restaurants) and we asked him if he still had room for three people. Without thinking or looking for a single second, he said: “Unfortunately no” with a non-serious look. Before that, we walked through the restaurant once and it was clear that there were enough Seats inside and outside. Half the restaurant was empty and he didn't even look to see if there was still a seat available somewhere. Outrageous!!

Upon entering the restaurant we were immediately told there were no free tables left without even checking. But only 20% of the tables were occupied. This dry and unfriendly treatment probably has a racist background. What a shame!

We celebrated our wedding in the Schwaige Castle Restaurant. The planning and implementation went smoothly and very positively. The contact was always friendly. The food and service are simply great! Thank you for the great day.

A gourmet restaurant basic with Bavaria delicacy. Good location where right next to Palace. Nice beer garden with adequate service, certainly the price is higher than regular. The beer garden is fully covered by threes so that guarantees guests enjoy comfortable dining. My husband ordered Beef roll that was really tasty, but the red cabbage is too sweet to eat. I had fried sliced Celery for vegetarian. The desserts are absolutely the highlight ！ Pear ice with chocolate mouse and small sponge cake and heavy cream. Two main courses were in general delicious. For my dish I think of three pieces of Celery which I had never thought about so simple as that, and they cost more than €22！ What a surprise ⋯ it’s really pricey ！ Well, so if I knew in advance then I would rather order Flamm Kuchen instead.

Impossible service. Despite many free places, we were probably not welcome as paying guests. We have truly never experienced such rude treatment. We can recommend continuing to the Augustiner Wirtshaus. We received a warm welcome there and experienced the exact opposite.

A very pleasant restaurant that is decorated in a traditional and typically Bavarian style. Large indoor space and a nice beer garden if you want to dine outside.

The food here was excellent. All the dishes we ordered, they were the best version of that that I've tried in Germany. Quite pricey, but I didn't think it was anything extreme. A couple of the meat dishes were quite pricey, but you could also get a flatbread pizza or a soup for less than 15 Euro. Even small things like the potato salad were quite delicious. I would recommend if you're looking to have a nice dinner with your family or friends, and don't mind spending a little more for a special occasion.

The three of us wanted to have lunch with you today. The older gentleman/waiter outside at reception greeted us unfriendly as soon as we arrived in the guest garden and was extremely annoyed with us. When we asked if we could eat indoors because of the wasps, we just grumbled and obviously didn't seem to like it. Once inside, we were literally told in a very unfriendly tone which tables we weren't allowed to sit at. The reasons were not given and it seemed quite random as the indoor area was almost empty due to the good weather. Since we didn't know exactly what his problem was, we asked him about it several times. Every answer here was more than unfriendly and rude. Because of this we decided to eat somewhere else. We have often been guests of this hotel in the past and are therefore really disappointed to have been treated so disrespectfully. This is how you successfully scare away paying guests - what a shame!!

We had an event in Munich in July 2024. The choice of restaurant fell on Schwaige. That was the best decision. We were able to use the cozy side room for 2 evenings with 20 women. Very good selection of food. A restaurant depends on its staff. We had an attentive and personable waiter. A successful atmosphere. Thank you, the Queens of Arwendayle

Very tasty, in addition to the “standard dishes” there is also a good selection of daily specials, prices are at Munich level, a little higher than you might otherwise be familiar with. But friendly staff, we would go there again.

Once again wonderful food and good wine. The beer garden is a real insider tip for us because it is nice and quiet - there is no big traffic and the staff is very accommodating.

Admittedly, our expectations were very high - unfortunately they were not met. Saturday evening of a wonderful summer day in this beautiful ambience. Nothing can really go wrong. Unfortunately, we can't say anything good about the food: the meat patties are not enough - please change the recipe, you can't bring that. The Wiener Schnitzel was ok at a high price of €34 - I have eaten it much better in cheaper restaurants, i.e. crispier and more tender. You should be able to do that better too. First impression: Great on the outside, but (unfortunately) just ok on the inside

Amazing place! Stumbled upon here randomly after a full morning exploring the Nymphenburg palace and park. The food was fantastic! Got the Schnitzel, tomatoes with chanterelles and apple strudel for dessert. Best of yet of the Munich trip!

Top food, fresh and excellently prepared. Very good schnitzel, great risotto and the tarte flambée was also great! Attentive service and a really cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended 🤗 We are already looking forward to our next visit!

We were looked after excellently by the service staff, thank you very much 😊 and felt very comfortable in the beautifully designed beer garden. The food was super delicious with fresh ingredients and creative preparation. The Wiener Schnitzel was a hit and so was the crispy fried celery schnitzel (don't drizzle the lemon on it like you would with the fish 🙉 at that point it won't be crispy anymore). If you can still have dessert: Pear Helene 😋 We will definitely come back. 💯% recommended 👍
