I celebrated my birthday here, and it was fantastic! Beer from a wooden keg, delicious appetizer platters, and tarte flambée. The ambiance in this location is, in my opinion, unique in Munich. Everything was superbly organized. Since then, I've loved coming here and love the relaxed atmosphere. The beer is always very cold here, which isn't a given in Munich anymore.

Ingo B. is the best thing that ever happened in Munich. Katja G. also always helped us. A big compliment to Chris for the wonderful service. The strawberry schnapps tasted so good and is highly recommended. Axel F. is always available for a quick meal or a lazy evening.

Cozy restaurant with good food Axel F. has a truly lovely Bavarian restaurant – cozy, warm, and very inviting. The food is delicious and freshly prepared, just as you would expect. The staff are friendly and attentive, and you immediately feel welcome. If you enjoy Bavarian food, you should definitely stop by here.

Super nice atmosphere Good service, good vibe

All the staff were very friendly and polite, and the atmosphere was great. I lost my wallet there, and they did everything they could to get it back, and it was complete. They didn't even charge me any money. Very nice. Many thanks to the Axel F team.

Unfortunately, the service quality did not meet our expectations. My beer glass still had lipstick on it, presumably from its previous use. The waiter's response to my complaint was regrettably unsympathetic, with no apology or appropriate response. The second waiter seemed more preoccupied with personal matters than with serving the guests. Although the restaurant was only moderately busy, we had to actively seek out the waiters, as they did not come to our table on their own initiative. Since I did not order any food, I cannot comment on the culinary offerings.

Chris, Axel and Lissi wanted to finish for 2 hours when we arrived and then they built up 2 hours of overtime for us

Great atmosphere, beautifully decorated, and friendly service. I was very pleased! The spare ribs are, of course, amazing!

The food (homemade fries, Obatzter (traditional German sausage), and pretzels) was first-class. Beer and shandy (Monday and Tuesday at a special price, exemplary!), the terrace was covered by good umbrellas (rainproof), there were short waits, and the service was professional. Of course, we didn't try the entire menu, but everything looked very, very delicious (burgers, spare ribs, steaks). The portions were filling! Please make a reservation! This place is quite busy, and for good reason! We'd love to come back.

Today we landed soaked at Axel F. Lissy and Chris pampered us. The currywurst and fries were amazing!

There are some people who make all the difference – for me, Niels is just that. Coming here on Sundays has become a ritual for me, and that's not because of the place, but because of him. He knows how to make the moment special in a completely calm, honest way. You can tell that he's not interested in business, but in people. Without Niels, my Sunday would just be a Sunday – with him, it's a highlight. And the steak is sensational (value for money).

We wanted to eat something here after midnight. We were greeted warmly by the wait staff and given two stacks of menus. After looking through the many sheets and quickly making a decision, we waited—what felt like forever—and no one came. After one of us got up and walked toward the bar, the waitress finally remembered. As we placed our order, we received an indignant announcement that they were no longer serving food at that time. A corresponding notice outside on the notice board or on the menus, a refusal to display food options after midnight, or a friendly reminder from the waitress would have saved us a bad experience and this unfortunately poor but well-deserved review. I'm sorry!

Very slow and rude service made me and my friends feel very uncomfortable. They also didn’t like the fact we weren’t from Germany and made it very obvious to us . It’s a real shame as it’s in a great spot in a great neighbourhood. Would not recommend to anyone and really ruined our evening

Avoid at all cost, long waiting, racist staff. I have to unfortunately edit my review because after visiting another few times we had horrible experiences. A few times we were waiting over 30mins for drinks or sitting at a table and not one waiter coming over for 20 mins so we left. The most recent was very upsetting because the waiter was racist to our group after we just asked how long the drinks would take. Will never return to this place and I would recommend everyone to avoid it.

Absolutely disgraceful and shameful service. Over 40 minute wait for a round of drinks and when we called the waiter out he told us to leave and go back to our country. I am disgusted by the people working there.

The charming lights outside may convey a cozy Bavarian atmosphere, but don't be fooled—the atmosphere inside is anything but warm, especially because of the staff. We ate here several times during our stay in Munich, and it's definitely worth a try: beautiful outdoor area, truly delicious food, and a varied menu. The tarte flambée is heavenly! This restaurant, however, has room for improvement. Aside from the younger waiter, the service is unfortunately mostly unfriendly, stiff, and grumpy. The staff could certainly benefit from some customer service training. Caution: We were overcharged one day. Check your bill before paying!

Good food, a pleasant atmosphere, and friendly staff, and the value for money is also good. It's also a great place to go as a group, although it's advisable to reserve a table in advance. In addition to food and drinks, it's also great for group game nights.

We've started going here regularly. Basically for the best beer (Augustiner), and recently they've started offering slushies—Sarti, Aperol, and passion fruit spritzes. A good "ice cream sundae" to cool you down, so to speak. The staff is super friendly and accommodating.

Food okay, service disappointing Unfortunately, we didn't have a particularly good experience. The server was extremely inattentive – even though the two neighboring tables arrived after us, they had their menus much faster, and our orders were also taken promptly. We had to ask twice if we could get a menu, but somehow they forgot each time. The food itself was okay and arrived relatively quickly – the restaurant was only moderately full at the time. The taste was solid, but nothing particularly outstanding. The value for money was just about okay. Overall, unfortunately, it wasn't a great visit – mainly due to the inattentive service.

Best place to hang out and see live going by. Nils and Andy are the best waiters ever. They read your lips with your wishes and and are always up for lough. Very very professional and and most appropriate! Thanks for all!

Nice restaurant, decent food Review date: 2023 Pros: Generally a nice location, service was prompt and friendly, value for money = OK; food was OK (after reheating), beer garden looks promising. Cons: The food was lukewarm (from several members of the group) - but was fixed after a complaint. The door to the restrooms was permanently open. Paying at the table was not possible. Conclusion: Not recommended

We were there today (21st of June) at 8 PM – unfortunately, the service was very disappointing. Even though the terrace wasn’t busy, we waited over 10 minutes without being acknowledged. The waiter preferred chatting with another guest instead of serving us. When I raised my hand to order, he responded mockingly. We asked for wine without specifying the size, and he brought the large one without asking. The same happened when we wanted to pay – 10 more minutes trying to get his attention with no luck. We had to go inside to pay, and he gave us a rather threatening look. Such a shame that a beautiful terrace has such unprofessional service.

The spare ribs are delicious. The Augustiner beer wasn't my cup of tea; it was too weak. The service was okay.

I had to wait an hour and 15 minutes to be served. I was only served because another guest showed solidarity with me and asked the staff to serve me. Unfortunately, poor service is not uncommon in Munich, so experiences like this are unfortunately not uncommon.

Never again! Unfortunately, the experiences on my last visit have now forced me to submit a Google review. A few days ago I was with a larger group at Axel F. in the evening after a game at the SAP Garden to have a drink. I've come here many times for years (sometimes with larger groups) and have been thrilled every time, which is why I suggested this restaurant to our group this time too. As soon as we entered, we quickly got the impression that the waiter didn't really want to see us, but nevertheless we got a table and ordered the first round of drinks. Part of our group didn't notice that the waiter wanted to bring the order, so he took it back with him. When they went to the bar to get the missing drinks, all they said was that he would recommend that we stop talking when the waiter comes (Funny, I didn't know that in a restaurant you have to keep quiet and are banned from speaking!) We didn't get any more drinks because, firstly, the waiter didn't pay any attention to us and secondly, he wanted all the drinks to be paid for together (for a group of 18???). When I went to the waiter for a one-on-one conversation to ask what the problem was and to calm the bad mood, I was first ignored, then mocked and finally had to listen to snarky comments. Such a waiter is not only damaging to your reputation, but may simply end up in the wrong job. It's a shame, you really had the potential to be a good location in the SAP Gardens catchment area and I'm sure that not only us but also other visitors to the arena would have ended up there more often, but as the "nice" waiter said to us several times, "you don't need our money." After this experience I will definitely not come to you again and I will also advise other people who are looking for a restaurant/bar near SAP Gardens not to come here.

I like to visit this restaurant again and again with an excellent lunch and there is always something nice in the evening too - great atmosphere and quick, courteous service. Always my pleasure.

Bad reviews are actively reported to Google as “defamation”. Sorry, what's that supposed to mean? The service was just bad and the food was overpriced. The right way would be to respond to a review and vow to improve instead of doing something like that.

Visitamos Munich durante el período de año nuevo y pasamos nuestra primera noche en Axel F para la cena - las costillas eran increíblemente sabrosas. Como resultado reservamos de nuevo para su fiesta de Año Nuevo - o fiesta de Silvestre como se llama en Alemania. Qué gran noche - la cena incluida fue simplemente excelente. El ambiente era muy divertido y el personal estaba todo fuera para asegurarse de que todos disfrutaban. Entonces los fuegos artificiales a medianoche fueron la guinda del pastel. Volvimos a almorzar el día que nos fuimos a casa, así que eso te dice que deben haber estado haciendo algo bien. La próxima vez que visitemos, sin duda volveremos.

We arrived after midnight, were extremely hungry and, upon request, were given the best potato and cucumber salad in the world despite the kitchen being closed. A big thank you for that!

We sat there in the evening with a few people to drink a few drinks. You really have to say, the staff is super friendly, the atmosphere is nice and inviting and the cocktails we had were all very good, I've never had better ones. Can only be recommended if you are in the area

A real insider tip! The veggie burger and the fish & chips absolutely surprised us - both were unexpectedly delicious. The ambience exudes a charming 80s flair, which defines the character of the restaurant. Of particular note was the unusually friendly service, and the food was served in a flash. A real alternative in the area – we would definitely like to come back!

I had ordered the takeaway spareribs BBQ over the phone and was told the wait would be about 20 minutes. Since I was there anyway, I waited inside and received a small aperitif for waiting. I found that very attentive and the staff was personable and friendly. The spare ribs were very tender and really flavorful. I'd love to come back!

Officially open until 1:00 a.m., but I was only offered a cut at 9:30 p.m. (3.5 hours earlier) because they were closing now. At least the staff was friendly.

A great venue with a large selection of food and drinks. The service was quick and attentive. In summer it's definitely fun to sit in the beer garden, even if it's right next to a busy intersection.

Unfortunately the service is not very attentive, fries arrived wrong then they came again when we had already finished eating. The food itself is okay, we had burgers. Unfortunately the bun was cold so not very edible and the fries are soaked in a spice that certainly doesn't taste bad, but in small quantities and not as a marinade. The ambience is okay but you can do more with it. Unfortunately we cannot recommend the restaurant.

I recently celebrated my birthday there. The organization, food, and service were top-notch. Cool music from the DJ. A great evening. I'd go again anytime.

Unfortunately, I can't comment on the food or the ambiance. I would have loved to see for myself. One negative I can say is the service. I would have loved to buy Christmas vouchers. I was told it wasn't possible because the office was closed and I had to order them three days in advance. Honestly, I've never experienced that anywhere else. It's a shame. Someone else is running the business now.

I wanted to eat vegan. The bowls gave the impression that they could be prepared vegan without much effort. Unfortunately that is not the case. Unfortunately, the three types of fries are all fried in animal fat and are therefore not an alternative. Finally I got a large salad - mostly leaf lettuce, so you won't get full. Judging by the color of the dressing, this probably had yogurt or cream or something similar in it. Of course that doesn't work at all. Overall I felt that vegans are not welcome here. I understand if this eating habit overwhelms traditional Bavarian cuisine. But unfortunately there was no attempt at all to find something halfway satisfactory for me. Quite the opposite - the reaction was more accusatory than regretful. My meat-eating fellow visitors also had the same impression. How do you say so beautifully? Once and never again.

Great restaurant, always good food, friendly service and the best beer. Very refreshing compared to the usual pubs because of the modern furnishings and relaxed atmosphere. The location is also great. Every now and then there is a party here.
