Altes Hackerhaus in München

When you think of a Bavarian inn, you usually have vivid images in your head: rustic flair, warm and attentive service, and the irresistible aroma of hearty specialties that makes your mouth water. Unfortunately, these expectations weren't met in this restaurant – aside from the rustic ambiance. With the exception of a single friendly server, the rest of the staff seemed preoccupied with themselves or trivial details. The food was a complete disappointment: the excessive use of vinegar and the underwhelming cooking detracted from any enjoyment. My partner and I are certain: after this experience, we won't be visiting this inn again anytime soon – what a shame.

A good brewery, highly recommended. The usher at the entrance could be a bit friendlier and not so grumpy and moody on a normal Friday. Service at the table was excellent; the young man did a great job. The food was very tasty and the beer was delicious.

We were there on Saturday at noon. All the tables outside were occupied, but there was room inside. The food was good, it was delivered quite quickly.

Bad food even worst service. Reheated food that tasted like burned fat on cardboard. Kept chasing the staff to ask to order and to ask to pay. They hand things never say thank you or your welcome even after showing them signs of politeness. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT A LOVELY EVENING

I visited a few breweries and there was a very good atmosphere and delicious beer 🥰. I didn't eat anything, the plates that were carried past me all looked very good.

Unfriendly staff, overpriced and it wasn't that tasty. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Unfortunately I can't say much positive things. After waiting for 10 minutes, we weren't even served, even though it was around 4 p.m., there were a lot of waiters and the place wasn't very busy. After another few minutes of waiting, we finally left. What a shame!

Unfortunately only two stars. Service is great, rustic and cozy, but the portions are more than poor for the money that is charged. Two veal meatballs with some cucumber salad 19.50, a manageable Viennese schnitzel for just under 28 euros. I would have expected a little more and would have liked to get up again full.

Beautiful historic venue, certainly more refined than the classic brewery and less popular with tourists. A real restaurant where you can enjoy classic Bavarian dishes that would also be found elsewhere but, above all, very different dishes from the usual that turned out to be authentic surprises. Service more professional than friendly. The best place we tried in Munich, certainly not to be missed for those looking for a less banal experience.

The food was excellent, generous portions and typical Bavarian flavours. Really tasty! The environment is characteristic and welcoming, in line with the traditional style. It's a shame about the service, which left a little to be desired: there weren't many people, so I can't explain the long waits both to order and to receive the bill. Overall though, a great experience for those looking for authentic Bavarian cuisine!

I feel like I had a different experience from the negative reviews. We were there end of July, went mid day. The outside seating was busy but the inside was empty so we sat inside. We're immediately greeted and shown where to sit, and given menus. Our waiter was nice and wasn't overly pushy or aggressive. Took our orders, brought the drinks and food and asked us if we were good and then just let us be while we were eating and chatting. When we were done we just waved at him and he came over and we settled the check and left. Nothing out of the ordinary. The food was very good, the service was good, and the price was reasonable. Would go back again if in the area.

The food wasn't anything special - but it was "ok". But nothing more. Service was very slow but friendly. The request to pay was stubbornly ignored. You would expect that in a traditional Bavarian restaurant there would be traditional music or no music - the way Bavarians like it - instead there would be loud "bum-bum monkey music" like in the disco. This has absolutely nothing to do with Bavarian tradition. Terrible. If you like “disco” in a traditional bar, this is the place to be, at least at lunchtime. Personally, I don't like "monkey music" with food.

I was here with my little daughter. We both had a Wiener Schnitzel of veal. The food was incredibly tasty and served quickly, the waiter was super friendly. Absolute recommendation!!

In this typical Bavarian beer hall, we had a late lunch. It took a few minutes until a waiter had time to take our orders. The drinks came quickly and our food after an adequate time. It was great food, and we loved the fried potatoes. Prices were average for Munich Downtown.

If you're in the mood for a thrilling game of "Can I Get a Drink Before the Apocalypse," this is the place for you. I came here with high hopes and an even higher tolerance for bad service – but nothing could prepare me for the three legendary male servers who turned waiting into an art form. After being greeted by the warm and welcoming phrase "Wait outside," I thought, "Sure, that's fine. I can handle a little bit of mystery." Fast forward 45 minutes, and I was still wondering if my drink had been brewed in another dimension. But no worries—three tables arrived after us, ordered, and ate their food all while our existence seemed to be ignored. I was really starting to feel like I was part of a social experiment: "Can you ignore a paying customer for an hour and still make them stay?" Spoiler: Yes, they can. But I held strong, because deep down I wanted to win this subtle game of "I’m Not Leaving Without My Drink!" So, if you're after the kind of service that makes you question your life choices, and you want to know how far you can push your patience, this place is the place to go! 10/10 would recommend if you're looking to test your endurance and get ignored with a grin

A very nice atmosphere. Typically Bavarian restaurant to feel good. Our waitress Ioana was humorous and said afterwards that we didn't miss anything. The food was delicious, but we were missing a side salad with the Cordon Bleu. Nevertheless, we enjoyed everything. The price-performance ratio was not ideal and the wine selection was a bit too small. But we felt we were in good hands and who drinks wine when you're in Munich (🍻)😜At a later hour you can still go dancing and have a drink in the basement of the restaurant. It was a lovely evening and a big thank you to Ioana.

Having known the restaurant in 1998 and visited it many times until 2006, as Hacker-Pschorr Haus with unforgettable dining experiences, we were disappointed by the flavors of the Schweinhaxe and Butterspezl, the decor and the bored polite staff. The prices are reasonable.

It would have been interesting to evaluate the food, unfortunately the level of service was so low, we got up and decided to eat elsewhere. A great place if you only want to use the bathroom

A warning to my fellow asian community. Dont step into this place. The Server shouted at us in public because we ask for serving plates.It was so loud that everyone walks pass look at us. 5 of us we ordered 3 as portions here are too big for us. When we ordered water. As is too early for us to drink.We are ready to pay for it. ( he again threaten us , saying we are in German) have to drink beer. When we went to make payment, servers sacarstically say we are rich. Want to charge us 1000UERO. Even punch the numbers on the the machine and ask us to tap. Conclusion. If you are Asian. Dont come.its not worth it at all. Is not just 1 server that behave like this we were serve by 3 different men. All of them are like this. This is not our first time in Germany.But this is by far the worst treatment and experience dine in we have. Living really bad impression on us. Utterly dissapointed.

The following thing bothered me today: When I went to the old Hackerhaus today (a little later than usual), I couldn't sit down in my old seat. Then I went to another place. But even then I was brushed off and given another seat. This one was very loud (in the middle), so I packed up some of my food and left. There was a young couple sitting nearby who occasionally turned their smartphone on loud, and I had to complain to the couple twice about it. The man also secretly smoked his e-cigarette. I complained about this to the waitress present. And I was told several times that if I didn't like it, I could leave and not have to come back.

A rustic brewery with plenty of seating. We had seats in the covered outdoor dining area. The tables were quite narrow, so two plates facing each other barely fit. Some of the meat in the brewery goulash was very tough. That's something you have to be able to handle with goulash. The menu was supposed to include napkin dumplings. But I got dumplings filled with cheese. They were more like Kaspressknödel (cheese dumplings). The waiter was trying to be funny and put on a half-act at the next table. It was really embarrassing and just too much.

This is a store that Japanese people and other Asians should never go to. The waiter is just terrible. My boss and I went on a business trip and had dinner here on our last day. They were incredibly racist, and they weren't hiding it, it was on full display. It would be fine if it was just one waiter, but the other waiter who was in charge of another table also made fun of us the entire time. When both of us tried to order, they either ignored us, acted like we don't know what you're talking about, or told us to wait and gave priority to white people at other tables.It was terrible. However, when they finally took our order, the white person next to us called us even though we were in the middle of ordering, and they told us to wait again and took care of the other white customers first, etc. The worst part was that even at the last checkout, they made fun of us, did a lot of incomprehensible Thai thank you poses, and said things like ``shy shay shay.'' I was so upset that I refused to tip, but they automatically added 10 euros to my credit card bill.Of course I refused, but it was a very unpleasant business trip.

Good beer, really good food but when the bill came they massively overcharged us for the number of beers. Strangely, they claimed we had a certain amount of beers but instantly took 2 beers off the bill when challenged. Nothing added up and I would encourage anyone, especially non Germans to be very aware of what they ordered and received if you come to dine here. Shame, as otherwise everything was very good.

Not a good experience there yesterday. We were not treated friendly and asked to move to another table impolitely. Good that we didn’t order anything yet so we decided to change to another one besides.

Very good atmosphere, food and attention! They have vegan options - We ordered the pumpkin soup and the dish of the day, everything was great! like homemade :) The good attention of the waiters also stands out.

We were there with 8 people for the carnival inn. But what we experienced here borders on outrageous. € 15.-- entry for nothing, no live music, no DJ, the food was terrible, the waiter was completely overwhelmed and so very unfriendly. The restaurant was so overcrowded that the fire protection police would have been happy. Simply a catastrophe and an impudence. Never again.

Ordered Wiener Schnitzel and got raw pork schnitzel. This is a no go... strange service. This place doesn't deserve a recommendation. Once and never again.

Food was ok, nothing spectacular, but I would not recommend this place. First, the waiter was very rude, I got a different beer than the one I ordered(way stronger too), and when I asked for the check, he added 10% more as tips without even asking me. When I asked why is the amount different than in the bill he said it is for the kitchen tax, and after that added the extra to the note as TIPS, right in front of me! Extremely rude and I would avoid this place with any cost.

A pleasant restaurant at first glance, we were looking for typical cuisine, and it seemed to meet our expectations. As soon as we enter the restaurant, the waiters don't seem to want to seat us, even though the room is half empty. Sitting at the table without a word, he quickly asked us what we wanted to drink. The food was not good, the currywurst was just knachi with ketchup sauce and the fries were way too salty. In addition, we asked for water and the waiter brought us the most expensive water on their menu (mini 25 cl bottle at €3.50). During the meal, the waiter drank a beer between his trips, at first glance not really annoying. Excellent Afghan food & friendly wait staff.

The best thing was the welcome and the service. We asked for a quiet table and were quickly taken to a small booth for four, and a water bowl was put out for the dog. Our food and drinks came really quickly and we asked if everything was OK. The white sausages were OK, the pretzels could be better, they were a bit tough. There was enough homemade mustard, but I would have preferred it in a pot and not in plastic bags. The lunch menu: pork schnitzel with fries and salad also looked very good. The beer was freshly tapped.

I recently visited the restaurant and was overall satisfied. The food was really good and the interior of the restaurant is very attractive. Most of the waiters were friendly and accommodating. However, it was very loud in the restaurant, which spoiled the experience somewhat. A waiter who was constantly swearing, both at guests and at his colleagues, was particularly disturbing. I found that very unpleasant and had a negative effect on the atmosphere. Overall a mixed experience - good food and nice ambience, but the noise and behavior of one waiter was disappointing.

Pretzel dumplings were not fresh, but fried and so hard that you could hardly cut them with a knife. Wild herbs were in the sauce. Few mushrooms.

Visited in June 2024. Monday at 7pm. There is both outside and inside seating, but I choose to sit outside. However, even when I tried to order, they never came. I can't get used to this incomprehensibility of Germany. The old man says "Lady lady" and passes by. I wonder if it's a lady. Unable to overcome the damage caused by binge drinking, he makes sausage and potato salad. The sausage tastes just like the boiled ones at the breakfast buffet, but it's salty enough that you don't need ketchup. Also, the potato salad is made with boiled potatoes mixed with sour sauce, which is gentle on a tired stomach. I ate a lot of it. When I called for the cashier, no one came, and when I went to the cashier inside the store, I was told to sit down. It doesn't come easily even after I sit down. It is normal to dry it for 10 minutes. The checkout took 30 minutes. You need space to eat.

Neat little pub that serves delicious authentic German food. The non-alcoholic beer was actually decent. Near city-center, not too crowded, service was okay and nothing too fancy about the atmosphere. If you’re hungry and want good food at a decent price definitely stop here.

Rustikale Gaststätte etwas abseits der Touristenströme. Das Wiener Schnitzel und die Brezenknödel waren sehr lecker. Zuvor hatten wir Kürbis- und Leberknödelsuppe. Auch sehr lecker. Beilagensalat steht nicht auf der Karte, ist aber erhältlich. Der Ober war spaßig, fix und sehr freundlich. Die Preise sind nicht ganz so hoch wie z.B. am Marienplatz. wir haben inklusive drei Bier für 2 Personen (Suppe, Hauptgerichte, Salat) ca. 90€ bezahlt.

I was there for lunch today with my daughter, we sat in the back area. I wanted a side dish change for my dish, just like it was written on the handwritten card on the doorstep. The waiter didn't know anything about this dish and said changing the side dish wouldn't be possible. When I asked in the kitchen I got the change I wanted, which made me very happy. All I can say about my dish is that I have eaten better and the quality of the food absolutely does not justify the price. Finally, what annoyed me the most was that I couldn't pay my bill with my suggested tip when I paid by card, but that this was also specified to me because, according to the waiter, there was no other way. Absolutely incomprehensible and a shame for such a traditional house.

Es war am Montag Mittag sehr ruhig. Die Bedienung hat anfänglich alle Gäste direkt nebeneinander platziert, obwohl nicht viele Gäste da waren. Die bestellten Weisswürste waren leider geschmacklich sehr neutral. Da kein Deckel auf der Terrine war, waren die zweiten Weisswürste fast kalt beim Verzehr. Die Bedienung war sehr flott und freundlich.

Nice place in the city centre. Average but not excellent food, we took a dish of the day, in my opinion the best ever, they were meatballs with classic puree. Then we had a Wiener schnitzel and a cordon bleu. Nothing exceptional. The puree of the other dishes is with cucumber, typical here. Always good rivers of beer, after all, we are in Germany!

Fast service and delicious beer, unfortunately some of the food was lukewarm. We sat in the hallway where it was very crowded every time the door was opened. There is intrusive begging for money by cleaning staff in the toilet.

Service is underground. Order was not recorded correctly. Paying wasn't that easy and very adventurous. Kitchen is ok and the rest below average -> disappointing...we won't go there anymore.

The service men have a very bad attitude, giving commands to their customers like leaders, which makes me feel very bad and uncomfortable. As for the food, the liver dumplings and the soup are extremely salty, you couldn’t drink a bit. Last but not least, the food is very expensive!!!!!!

Excellent place, we went to dinner and the super attentive waiter Alessandro helped us with the menu since everything was in German, if you need a waiter who speaks Spanish Alessandro is the right one, the food is 10, highly recommended
