Sweet Jesus the service is terrible - alright Bavarian cuisine comparable to any other traditional restaurant in Munich. Ill tempered waiters will ignore you (it took nearly an hour to order food) and prefer to sit gossiping to themselves and openly drinking on the job. And yes, as per the other reviews they have a definite problem with race here.

We were so happy to be at the table with waitress Johanna. She served us perfectly. That's exactly what you want. That's why we came back two days in a row. She was so friendly. We'd love to come back and hope to be served by her again. The food and beer were also wonderful.

Don't come here! This is such a shabby place!!! I'm so pissed :) I read some reviews saying they treat Asians really badly, and it's true, hilarious! Don't even come here, it's such a waste of time 👐👐👐 When I first walked in, no one greeted me. I went to ask for a table myself, and the staff was incredibly perfunctory and awful. I asked in English, and they replied in German. (Likely a mistranslation) They didn't even show me to a table :) A second staff member passed by and I asked if everyone was seated. He said yes, and then left without giving me a menu. After waiting for 5 minutes, another staff member passed by and we asked. 👐 While we were looking at the menu, a staff member came over and told us in a very rude manner that this area was closed and we had to sit in the back. Okay, no one showed us to a table either. We went to the back to find a table, and while we were still looking for a table, another staff member came over and told us that this area was closed and we couldn't sit. Thank you so much 😊 I was completely speechless. I said, "We were told to sit here, but we're told to sit there! Where are we supposed to sit?" She then politely showed us to our seats and said welcome. Great, I thought, finally, I could enjoy my meal. But then! Ha! We waited for over 20 minutes, and no one even came to take our order. They kept ignoring our waving. We even called once, and they told us to wait. After all, the service was terrible, and I was completely disappointed. :)))

Another great beer garden in Munich!!

We had a truly lovely afternoon at the Hackerhaus! The food was delicious (especially the Kaiserschmarrn), typically Bavarian and prepared with love. I'd especially like to mention our waitress, Tamy – super attentive, friendly, and welcoming. We immediately felt welcome. We would love to come back and highly recommend it.

We were there for lunch, and the food was all delicious. We were served by Tamy, one of the most competent waitresses we've had in a long time. She was very polite and accommodating. We were completely satisfied.

The place seems more than decent, and right on a pedestrian shopping street, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone due to the staff's total lack of customer service. The food isn't great either!

Simply a great place to eat and linger

We want to eat there for the second time... because the food isn't bad. As mentioned in a previous review, we weren't served after quite some time. But we even asked the waiters three times, and they were still understanding. The answers were always the same: "My colleague will be right there." Then we asked the other, "My colleague will be right there." The third just said, "Yeah, right there..." We looked at each other and said we'll give them another 5 minutes and then we'll leave. There wasn't much going on outside—maybe 5 tables. We asked our table neighbors how long it took. They also said, "It's pretty long, so if you want to eat, it'll take a while." After 5 minutes had passed and two waiters were standing outside again, and no menu, no questions asked, or no order taken, we decided to leave and not come back.

So... we actually just wanted to have a nice lunch, a few drinks – nothing earth-shattering, we thought. Instead, we witnessed a gastronomic play ala "Waiting for Godot – The Restaurant Edition." After only 30 minutes, we still hadn't received a menu, a drink, or any sign of life from the wait staff. We were already starting to view each other as potential sources of sustenance. Then, finally! The waitress whizzed by – not with a friendly smile, but with the vigor of an orc commander abstaining from coffee. We politely said, "We're ready to order." 😊 There was no order – but an unexpected tirade, loud enough for the entire beer garden. Indignantly, we were denied any patience. Right, how could we possibly expect to eat something in a restaurant after half an hour? We left – hungry and thirsty, but at least one experience richer. Conclusion: If you're hungry, go somewhere else. And if you're into spontaneous parenting conversations at full volume—welcome! 😅

We went for a drink in this crazy heat – it was simply beautiful. The waiter who served us was really funny, and the service was absolutely 10/10, especially with the drinks. The only thing to watch out for is downstairs by the restrooms: There was a woman there who seemed to be in charge of cleaning. She asked me to give her money. I was surprised at first because I thought using the restrooms was included when you eat in a restaurant. When I politely told her that I only had a card (because we were in a restaurant and card payments were accepted there), she said, "Don't be ridiculous" – and started making fun of me. She was really rude. So I told her I was sorry, but I didn't have any cash, and just left. Upstairs, I asked the waiter if it was mandatory – and he said it was voluntary. I just wanted to mention that.

Unfriendly to the extreme. We wanted to go to Hacker for a few beers, and then we weren't even greeted because we had a box of food with us, which we obviously didn't want to eat there. They immediately start rudely telling us that we can't get in with it and that we won't get anything. Thanks very much, Hacker doesn't taste good anyway.

I had a beer there today. After about a 30-minute wait, an older lady came over to take my order. I've never been served so rudely. One star is too many. Unfortunately, it's not a flagship for Munich.

The food seemed okay to us, but the wait was much less so. The people at the table next to ours, who sat down 30 seconds before us, were served before we even bothered to take our order. After eating, no server asked us if we wanted dessert or a drink, and we had to wait a long time for the bill despite our reminders. We could have left without paying and no one would have noticed! And with the exception of one server, all the staff were cold.

I have never experienced such unfriendly and bad staff, a real rip-off

Andrea and Maria were ICONIC. Biggest smiles on their faces, wanted to get to know us. We came on a large trip with almost 40 people, and they treated us like family. Def recommend.

We stopped here for coffee and dessert and tried the apple strudel. It was absolutely delicious! A great spot to take a break and enjoy something sweet. The atmosphere was cozy and the service for our order was quick and pleasant.

Today I ordered food from Hüttn Burger. I found a white hair in my food. I ate half of it and then left it. Also, using the restroom is a fee, which is a negative. I went to the restroom and vomited up the whole burger. I reported this to the waiter. The waiter said he would check with the kitchen. He came back and said that everyone in the kitchen was wearing a toque and that they didn't know how it could have happened. They apologized and offered me an espresso. I declined. My meal cost €22.90; their coffee offer would have been worth maybe €3.50 or €3.90. When I got the bill, I still had to pay for the uneaten food. That was my experience, and I won't choose this place again.👎👎

Best restaurant downtown! A bit more upscale than the usual tourist restaurants!

Stopped by this beer garden this afternoon after a stroll through town. The waiter seemed very out of sorts, unfriendly, and made oddly funny remarks. The food we ordered came quickly, but unfortunately the pork knuckle was completely dry, with a crust resembling a latex glove! My partner's salad was apparently freshly prepared, but the accompanying bread was rock hard and inedible. After asking the waiter if we liked the food, I responded accordingly, and he apologized on behalf of the kitchen and offered me a spirit or espresso. Thanks for the espresso, but unfortunately we won't be back...

The Hackerhaus at Sendlinger Tor offers a pleasant atmosphere in the heart of Munich's city center. It was especially nice that we could sit outside – a definite plus in good weather. The service was extremely friendly and attentive, which made the visit very pleasant overall. The food was solid – the taste was okay, if not outstanding. The prices were reasonable, especially for the central Munich location. The beer was a small disappointment, however: It was served as a Helles (light beer), but surprisingly, it came from a bottle and was poured into the glass – not a draft beer. Especially in a traditional Munich restaurant, I would have expected a fresh Helles on tap. This was a bit disappointing and didn't quite fit with the otherwise harmonious atmosphere. Overall, though, a nice place for a classic stopover – with good service, decent food, and fair prices.

Beautiful location, fantastic food and beer

A traditional brewery with excellent, friendly service and delicious food, beautifully located in a pedestrian zone.

Four of us spontaneously stopped by the Hackerhaus and left full and happy. The portions were very generous (pork knuckle, roast pork, sausage salad). The service was fantastic, friendly, and accommodating. The food was excellent. The entire place was very cozy and inviting. The only thing we deducted was the somewhat high prices. Even though quality can come at a price, we felt it was a bit excessive.

Today I was served by the operations manager Mr. Bugatti, I have to say, the service is excellent. But I don't just see the service, ambience and taste etc., since I also worked in the catering industry myself, I also see that the waiters are completely overloaded. The waiters and waitresses are all nice, friendly and polite. They try to do everything right quickly and quickly, and then have friendly answers ready if a guest becomes unfriendly. But as already mentioned, they are simply understaffed. As a guest, you would also like there to be two waiters, so that you can maybe have a little chat, even if it's just for a minute or two minutes, which is how you actually do it, but stick with it They don't have time to act humanely. I went to eat at the hackerhaus and didn't talk to the waiters or waitresses. So it wasn't the first time I've been to the hackerhaus, the food always tastes different, sometimes you're still in love, sometimes it has no taste and completely forgets to season, every now and then it works and other days you leave it in the hope of getting something better Just go back and eat. The ambience is cozy, nice and clean, but in the women's toilet it's a different story. brought photos. On the whole, it's just nice when you can live and eat with the deductions. Terrible, the manager is a horrible jerk. There are 12 of us and we put together a free table and he gets really rude and starts shouting at us, and at the people at the table next to us who can't put a chair on the side or the police will make them pay €50 and he tells them that he's going to pay it instead of being nice and saying it politely. Horrible.

It was the best place in Munich so far. The food is unpretentious, delicious and beautifully presented. The seasonal offer is captivating. The staff is nice, especially Birgit, she was very friendly and direct. We will be back. :-)

We were assigned a seat at the back. No service, even though there were at least six waiters. We left after 15 minutes. And the restaurant was completely deserted.

We picked this pub because of the name and location, which is often a horrible reason. But we also went because they had Kaiserschmarrn. I have not had other Kaiserschmarrn's to compare it to, but I thought it was delicious. (And I would definitely get it again, and again, and again.) One of my co-diners had a hamburger, which came with a hash-brown pattie under the meat. He enjoyed it very much. We sat outside on the sidewalk patio. The weather was nice and it was a good location to watch people go by.

When you think of a Bavarian inn, you usually have vivid images in your head: rustic flair, warm and attentive service, and the irresistible aroma of hearty specialties that makes your mouth water. Unfortunately, these expectations weren't met in this restaurant – aside from the rustic ambiance. With the exception of a single friendly server, the rest of the staff seemed preoccupied with themselves or trivial details. The food was a complete disappointment: the excessive use of vinegar and the underwhelming cooking detracted from any enjoyment. My partner and I are certain: after this experience, we won't be visiting this inn again anytime soon – what a shame.

A good brewery, highly recommended. The usher at the entrance could be a bit friendlier and not so grumpy and moody on a normal Friday. Service at the table was excellent; the young man did a great job. The food was very tasty and the beer was delicious.

We were there on Saturday at noon. All the tables outside were occupied, but there was room inside. The food was good, it was delivered quite quickly.

Bad food even worst service. Reheated food that tasted like burned fat on cardboard. Kept chasing the staff to ask to order and to ask to pay. They hand things never say thank you or your welcome even after showing them signs of politeness. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT A LOVELY EVENING

I visited a few breweries and there was a very good atmosphere and delicious beer 🥰. I didn't eat anything, the plates that were carried past me all looked very good.

Unfortunately I can't say much positive things. After waiting for 10 minutes, we weren't even served, even though it was around 4 p.m., there were a lot of waiters and the place wasn't very busy. After another few minutes of waiting, we finally left. What a shame!

Unfortunately only two stars. Service is great, rustic and cozy, but the portions are more than poor for the money that is charged. Two veal meatballs with some cucumber salad 19.50, a manageable Viennese schnitzel for just under 28 euros. I would have expected a little more and would have liked to get up again full.

Beautiful historic venue, certainly more refined than the classic brewery and less popular with tourists. A real restaurant where you can enjoy classic Bavarian dishes that would also be found elsewhere but, above all, very different dishes from the usual that turned out to be authentic surprises. Service more professional than friendly. The best place we tried in Munich, certainly not to be missed for those looking for a less banal experience.

I feel like I had a different experience from the negative reviews. We were there end of July, went mid day. The outside seating was busy but the inside was empty so we sat inside. We're immediately greeted and shown where to sit, and given menus. Our waiter was nice and wasn't overly pushy or aggressive. Took our orders, brought the drinks and food and asked us if we were good and then just let us be while we were eating and chatting. When we were done we just waved at him and he came over and we settled the check and left. Nothing out of the ordinary. The food was very good, the service was good, and the price was reasonable. Would go back again if in the area.

The food wasn't anything special - but it was "ok". But nothing more. Service was very slow but friendly. The request to pay was stubbornly ignored. You would expect that in a traditional Bavarian restaurant there would be traditional music or no music - the way Bavarians like it - instead there would be loud "bum-bum monkey music" like in the disco. This has absolutely nothing to do with Bavarian tradition. Terrible. If you like “disco” in a traditional bar, this is the place to be, at least at lunchtime. Personally, I don't like "monkey music" with food.

I was here with my little daughter. We both had a Wiener Schnitzel of veal. The food was incredibly tasty and served quickly, the waiter was super friendly. Absolute recommendation!!

In this typical Bavarian beer hall, we had a late lunch. It took a few minutes until a waiter had time to take our orders. The drinks came quickly and our food after an adequate time. It was great food, and we loved the fried potatoes. Prices were average for Munich Downtown.

I came here with high hopes and an even higher tolerance for bad service – but nothing could prepare me for the three legendary male servers who turned waiting into an art form. After being greeted by the warm and welcoming phrase "Wait outside," I thought, "Sure, that's fine. I can handle a little bit of mystery." Fast forward 45 minutes, and I was still wondering if my drink had been brewed in another dimension. But no worries—three tables arrived after us, ordered, and ate their food all while our existence seemed to be ignored. I was really starting to feel like I was part of a social experiment: "Can you ignore a paying customer for an hour and still make them stay?" Spoiler: Yes, they can. But I held strong, because deep down I wanted to win this subtle game of "I’m Not Leaving Without My Drink!" So, if you're after the kind of service that makes you question your life choices, and you want to know how far you can push your patience, this place is the place to go! 10/10 would recommend if you're looking to test your endurance and get ignored with a grin

A very nice atmosphere. Typically Bavarian restaurant to feel good. Our waitress Ioana was humorous and said afterwards that we didn't miss anything. The food was delicious, but we were missing a side salad with the Cordon Bleu. Nevertheless, we enjoyed everything. The price-performance ratio was not ideal and the wine selection was a bit too small. But we felt we were in good hands and who drinks wine when you're in Munich (🍻)😜At a later hour you can still go dancing and have a drink in the basement of the restaurant. It was a lovely evening and a big thank you to Ioana.

Having known the restaurant in 1998 and visited it many times until 2006, as Hacker-Pschorr Haus with unforgettable dining experiences, we were disappointed by the flavors of the Schweinhaxe and Butterspezl, the decor and the bored polite staff. The prices are reasonable.

The following thing bothered me today: When I went to the old Hackerhaus today (a little later than usual), I couldn't sit down in my old seat. Then I went to another place. But even then I was brushed off and given another seat. This one was very loud (in the middle), so I packed up some of my food and left. There was a young couple sitting nearby who occasionally turned their smartphone on loud, and I had to complain to the couple twice about it. The man also secretly smoked his e-cigarette. I complained about this to the waitress present. And I was told several times that if I didn't like it, I could leave and not have to come back.

A warning to my fellow asian community. Dont step into this place. The Server shouted at us in public because we ask for serving plates.It was so loud that everyone walks pass look at us. 5 of us we ordered 3 as portions here are too big for us. When we ordered water. As is too early for us to drink.We are ready to pay for it. ( he again threaten us , saying we are in German) have to drink beer. When we went to make payment, servers sacarstically say we are rich. Want to charge us 1000UERO. Even punch the numbers on the the machine and ask us to tap. Conclusion. If you are Asian. Dont come.its not worth it at all. Is not just 1 server that behave like this we were serve by 3 different men. All of them are like this. This is not our first time in Germany.But this is by far the worst treatment and experience dine in we have. Living really bad impression on us. Utterly dissapointed.

Munich brewery as you imagine it.

A rustic brewery with plenty of seating. We had seats in the covered outdoor dining area. The tables were quite narrow, so two plates facing each other barely fit. Some of the meat in the brewery goulash was very tough. That's something you have to be able to handle with goulash. The menu was supposed to include napkin dumplings. But I got dumplings filled with cheese. They were more like Kaspressknödel (cheese dumplings). The waiter was trying to be funny and put on a half-act at the next table. It was really embarrassing and just too much.

Just eat Schwein School here. Even if you go anywhere else, this is the best.

This is a store that Japanese people and other Asians should never go to. The waiter is just terrible. My boss and I went on a business trip and had dinner here on our last day. They were incredibly racist, and they weren't hiding it, it was on full display. It would be fine if it was just one waiter, but the other waiter who was in charge of another table also made fun of us the entire time. When both of us tried to order, they either ignored us, acted like we don't know what you're talking about, or told us to wait and gave priority to white people at other tables.It was terrible. However, when they finally took our order, the white person next to us called us even though we were in the middle of ordering, and they told us to wait again and took care of the other white customers first, etc. The worst part was that even at the last checkout, they made fun of us, did a lot of incomprehensible Thai thank you poses, and said things like ``shy shay shay.'' I was so upset that I refused to tip, but they automatically added 10 euros to my credit card bill.Of course I refused, but it was a very unpleasant business trip.
