Altes Hackerhaus in München

Food was ok, nothing spectacular, but I would not recommend this place. First, the waiter was very rude, I got a different beer than the one I ordered(way stronger too), and when I asked for the check, he added 10% more as tips without even asking me. When I asked why is the amount different than in the bill he said it is for the kitchen tax, and after that added the extra to the note as TIPS, right in front of me! Extremely rude and I would avoid this place with any cost.

A pleasant restaurant at first glance, we were looking for typical cuisine, and it seemed to meet our expectations. As soon as we enter the restaurant, the waiters don't seem to want to seat us, even though the room is half empty. Sitting at the table without a word, he quickly asked us what we wanted to drink. The food was not good, the currywurst was just knachi with ketchup sauce and the fries were way too salty. In addition, we asked for water and the waiter brought us the most expensive water on their menu (mini 25 cl bottle at €3.50). During the meal, the waiter drank a beer between his trips, at first glance not really annoying. However, what was our surprise when we were charged for an extra beer at the time of the bill, and when we complained, a small refund came out of our pocket. To conclude, AVOID

Excellent Afghan food & friendly wait staff.

The best thing was the welcome and the service. We asked for a quiet table and were quickly taken to a small booth for four, and a water bowl was put out for the dog. Our food and drinks came really quickly and we asked if everything was OK. The white sausages were OK, the pretzels could be better, they were a bit tough. There was enough homemade mustard, but I would have preferred it in a pot and not in plastic bags. The lunch menu: pork schnitzel with fries and salad also looked very good. The beer was freshly tapped.

Very nice restaurant with nice service. First there was a pumpkin soup and for the main course the trio of sausages with puree and sauerkraut, all very tasty. It was a nice evening

I recently visited the restaurant and was overall satisfied. The food was really good and the interior of the restaurant is very attractive. Most of the waiters were friendly and accommodating. However, it was very loud in the restaurant, which spoiled the experience somewhat. A waiter who was constantly swearing, both at guests and at his colleagues, was particularly disturbing. I found that very unpleasant and had a negative effect on the atmosphere. Overall a mixed experience - good food and nice ambience, but the noise and behavior of one waiter was disappointing.

Pretzel dumplings were not fresh, but fried and so hard that you could hardly cut them with a knife. Wild herbs were in the sauce. Few mushrooms.

Visited in June 2024. Monday at 7pm. There is both outside and inside seating, but I choose to sit outside. However, even when I tried to order, they never came. I can't get used to this incomprehensibility of Germany. The old man says "Lady lady" and passes by. I wonder if it's a lady. Unable to overcome the damage caused by binge drinking, he makes sausage and potato salad. The sausage tastes just like the boiled ones at the breakfast buffet, but it's salty enough that you don't need ketchup. Also, the potato salad is made with boiled potatoes mixed with sour sauce, which is gentle on a tired stomach. I ate a lot of it. When I called for the cashier, no one came, and when I went to the cashier inside the store, I was told to sit down. It doesn't come easily even after I sit down. It is normal to dry it for 10 minutes. The checkout took 30 minutes. You need space to eat.

Neat little pub that serves delicious authentic German food. The non-alcoholic beer was actually decent. Near city-center, not too crowded, service was okay and nothing too fancy about the atmosphere. If you’re hungry and want good food at a decent price definitely stop here.

Rustikale Gaststätte etwas abseits der Touristenströme. Das Wiener Schnitzel und die Brezenknödel waren sehr lecker. Zuvor hatten wir Kürbis- und Leberknödelsuppe. Auch sehr lecker. Beilagensalat steht nicht auf der Karte, ist aber erhältlich. Der Ober war spaßig, fix und sehr freundlich. Die Preise sind nicht ganz so hoch wie z.B. am Marienplatz. wir haben inklusive drei Bier für 2 Personen (Suppe, Hauptgerichte, Salat) ca. 90€ bezahlt.

I was there for lunch today with my daughter, we sat in the back area. I wanted a side dish change for my dish, just like it was written on the handwritten card on the doorstep. The waiter didn't know anything about this dish and said changing the side dish wouldn't be possible. When I asked in the kitchen I got the change I wanted, which made me very happy. All I can say about my dish is that I have eaten better and the quality of the food absolutely does not justify the price. Finally, what annoyed me the most was that I couldn't pay my bill with my suggested tip when I paid by card, but that this was also specified to me because, according to the waiter, there was no other way. Absolutely incomprehensible and a shame for such a traditional house.

Fast service and delicious beer, unfortunately some of the food was lukewarm. We sat in the hallway where it was very crowded every time the door was opened. There is intrusive begging for money by cleaning staff in the toilet.

Nice place in the city centre. Average but not excellent food, we took a dish of the day, in my opinion the best ever, they were meatballs with classic puree. Then we had a Wiener schnitzel and a cordon bleu. Nothing exceptional. The puree of the other dishes is with cucumber, typical here. Always good rivers of beer, after all, we are in Germany!

Es war am Montag Mittag sehr ruhig. Die Bedienung hat anfänglich alle Gäste direkt nebeneinander platziert, obwohl nicht viele Gäste da waren. Die bestellten Weisswürste waren leider geschmacklich sehr neutral. Da kein Deckel auf der Terrine war, waren die zweiten Weisswürste fast kalt beim Verzehr. Die Bedienung war sehr flott und freundlich.

The service men have a very bad attitude, giving commands to their customers like leaders, which makes me feel very bad and uncomfortable. As for the food, the liver dumplings and the soup are extremely salty, you couldn’t drink a bit. Last but not least, the food is very expensive!!!!!!

Service is underground. Order was not recorded correctly. Paying wasn't that easy and very adventurous. Kitchen is ok and the rest below average -> disappointing...we won't go there anymore.

Excellent place, we went to dinner and the super attentive waiter Alessandro helped us with the menu since everything was in German, if you need a waiter who speaks Spanish Alessandro is the right one, the food is 10, highly recommended

We ate the Leberkäse, which was not good both visually and in terms of taste. It felt like it was coming from the microwave to the plate and not fresh from the oven or from the pan. Too bad!

Absolute tourist spot. A request as to whether a dish could be slightly modified was not received and I had to choose something else. On advice, I was then recommended the winter salad. Absolutely NO recommendation! A few lettuce leaves, 3 slices of apples and 3 slices of cold pumpkin and some dressing with 2 slices of old bread, totally sticky and without any taste. For €18, it's quite a disgrace. Not recommended! The other dishes were also rather disappointing or nothing special.

Abbiamo pranzato il giorno di Natale, cibo buono personale gentile atmosfera accogliente, unica pecca mi hanno aggiunto una mancia di 18 euro nello scontrino senza concordarla e di cui mi sono accorta solo in seguito. Forse perché era Natale ma avrebbero dovuto dirlo.

We wanted to have traditional German food for our Christmas Day lunch and it was amazing. Great service and perfect ambiance

The food was tasty. We had about the last reservation on Christmas Eve, and you could definitely tell they were trying to close down - service was a bit scant, food was starting to run out - it probably would have been better if the restaurant had just closed down a couple hours sooner. But if you're not there in the last moments before a holiday, I'd recommend it! Ambience was really nice.

Had dinner there today, unfortunately both dishes weren't particularly good. Our opinion was the sauces from the packet, the duck was dry and tasteless and the roast pork wasn't particularly good either. Were disappointed.

On a Saturday night in Munich during xmas time, it can be nearly impossible to find a table anywhere for dinner without reservation.But Hackerhaus makes it possible. We thought we would be seated at the 2 seaters in the walkway given it was busy but they gave us a nice big table in an alcove. The menu is very bavarian, anything you can imaging. We opted for Käsespatzle and Meatballs with potato salad and 2 beer. The food was great and generous portions. Would come again and try more of their dishes.

This restaurant was recommended to us by our flight attendant. It did not disappoint. The venison goulash was fabulous. Highly recommend stopping here for a meal

We are vacationers from Saxony-Anhalt and were in this restaurant for the first time. The staff was super friendly and the food was great. I can only recommend it.

Very nice atmosphere, but significantly more expensive than comparable locations (e.g. Augustinerkeller). The roast pork was super tasty and the portions are large. Service was a bit stressful at peak times but still always friendly.

Do NOT come here if you want good Haxe….. it’s the worst haxe ive ever had in my life, an abomination…… super slow service, you need to get up and get stuff for yourself, you need to find a waiter yourself

We stumbled into Hackerhaus our first day in München and it was the best meal we had here. I recommend ordering a bunch of dishes and sharing family style. I especially loved the Knödel with mushroom gravy and the sausage trio, but that doesn’t mean the Schweinshaxe and Käse Spätzle weren’t also eye rollingly delicious. They gave us a side of lightly fermented cabbage that was the perfect balance to the rich foods, bright, very slightly sour and sweet. Our waiter was delightful and joked with us once he saw we also are playful souls. Laughing with him and my family during an incredible meal in a beautiful restaurant is a memory I’ll treasure forever.

Traditional German restaurant with an interesting menu of dishes. We recommend the snitchel (giant) and the knuckle. The atmosphere is typically German due to the decoration and the clothing of the waitresses. Very central.

Good food, very friendly service, pleasant atmosphere, reasonable prices, I would happily go there again.

The positive thing was that we got a table half an hour before we made the reservation. However, we were ignored for a while, even though the waiter walked past us three times. Roast pork with artificial sauce and dust dry. Crust was ok. Burgers not bad but not better than in any other shop. There were plenty of cheap fries. Apparently they were from McDonald's. Unfortunately, we left a lot left over, but we weren't asked if anything was wrong. Price performance doesn't fit here at all. Yes, it was very busy, but you can still expect something given the prices.

Es war ein sehr schöner Abend in dem Lokal. Besonders hervorzuheben war der sehr nette, freundliche, aufmerksame Kellner, der wirklich Spaß in seiner Arbeit hatte. Das erlebt man heute nicht mehr oft. Er hat dies für uns zu einem unvergesslichen Abend gemacht.

Very cozy dining room, attentive service and a top location in Munich's old town. The food is fresh and tastes good. Compared to other brewery taverns in the city center, the portions could be a little larger for the prices quoted. Still happy again.

Food, vibe good but servers not kind at all It's my first restaurant to come to Germany. And my favorite draft beer Since then, I haven't drank a beer full of barley. However, the staff is unfriendly Menu description roughly Saying to find a seat guide or the server in charge VGerman Tips 1. You can sit anywhere. 2. There is a server in charge of the area.

Caution!!! Scam, the two of you have a bill of 200.00 euros, too many drinks on the bill, no response despite a complaint, we will have to clarify this with a lawyer. It's a shame it used to be a serious restaurant!

Everything tip top. Very friendly Tyrolean waiter. Top pork knuckle, top schnitzel and good beer. Very fast service and normal prices.

We had to wait 45 minutes to even be able to order. The food was okay, but we would have expected more for the price of the schnitzel. It was filled with a lot of connective tissue. The portion was very large. Quality instead of quantity would be desirable. The service leaves a lot to be desired. The waitresses are totally stressed, while the boss and a young man who assigns seats do very little. A few years ago it was definitely much better.

Nice Bavarian restaurant on Sendlinger Straße. The service staff is very attentive and courteous. You can stay seated as long as you want. There is a beer garden, a restaurant and tables in front of the restaurant. You can pay in cash or by card. The toilets are clean.

The dishes tasted as if they were reheated, not freshly prepared; the skin on the Schweinshaxe was impossible to cut with a knife, let alone chew.

The food was incredibly expensive, we asked for two dishes with four sausages each and it costed like 80 euros both. the sausages were good but that was not a real price for the food we goot, we were scammed, in a single phrase.

Unfortunately, our service didn't work so well... I wonder who annoyed the man so much that he wasn't motivated anymore 🤨🙈 We would have liked to have eaten something else, but since the drinks were already such a deal, we did omitted to keep the effort low 😉

Very good traditional German food. We had to wait a little longer for our food because the restaurant was quite crowded but the waiter remained very nice.

Food good, but doesn't justify the price. Our service was rude and inattentive. The other tables were better off.

Were there later this afternoon and ordered meat patties with potato and cucumber salad. The meatballs were as compact as tennis balls (read: hard) and the sauce was (according to the menu, gravy)... definitely not (anymore) fresh. The staff also left a lot to be desired. And half a beer for almost €6 is also too expensive. Even if the time in the late afternoon was perhaps unfavorable for a warm meal - we certainly won't go there again.

Cozy seating right on the pedestrian zone, friendly, motivated staff and generous portions, very tasty and fresh. There is absolutely nothing to complain about here :)

STAFF Unfriendly ON October 25, 2024 In the afternoon, the most expensive beer in comparable restaurants. We missed out on food. The pillow on the next table that was completely nitpicked wasn't replaced or cleaned. Nobody was interested in the funerals.

Went there twice in a row because we really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. Children's menu is also very good. Highly recommended.
