Schoberwirt in München

A very stable inn. I eat here regularly. Both in larger groups and in pairs. Sometimes just a (very decent) roast pork, small portion 13.90 large 16.90 after which we play cards and are still welcome. But sometimes it has to be a little more and even then you can rely on the Schonerwirt that it tastes good. Onion roast, asparagus with whitefish I have always been very satisfied. The boss serves himself and provides a pleasant, reserved service! Always my pleasure!

It's Bavarian cozy here and there's good food.

We are always here in Munich for work. Last time we were at Shobabiert and it was simply wonderful. Today we spontaneously decided to come back to Schöber after a long day at work. And once again we are impressed by the quality of the service and food. You should definitely try the schnitzel, which is simply sensational - one of the best we have ever eaten in all of Europe!! Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I really can't understand the criticism of this host. He has been running the restaurant successfully for over 10 years and has made it a fixture in the Au. The entire team has been here for years, which clearly speaks for an excellent working atmosphere. The food is excellent, the value for money is unbeatable, and the service is always friendly and attentive. The innkeeper himself goes out of his way to fulfill the guests' every wish. Maybe some critics should reconsider their own behavior before judging others. Here you get quality, warmth and professionalism all in one – absolutely recommended!

Friendly staff, the guest is not a nuisance here (as is often the case in other restaurants), but rather welcome. We had schnitzel and onion roast, great. Finally a chef has mastered the ability to fry the roast as desired. We'll definitely come back.

My favourite restaurant during our stay in Munich. The food is excellent, the portions are huge, it is reasonably priced, the wine is good and the staff are incredibly kind. We were the only tourists (with little German) and the staff were so helpful and kind. I could not recommend this place more and if I am ever back in Munich I will be sure to visit.

Comfort is the priority here. Had a Wiener Schnitzel, which really tasted excellent. The service was very nice and accommodating. I'd love to come back.

Ich hatte den Auftrag für unseren Stammtisch ein neues Lokal ausfindig zu machen. Meine Auswahl viel auf dem SchoberWirt, wie sich herausstellte war es ein Volltreffer. Schon beim Betreten der Gaststätte wurden wir vom Wirt freundlich begrüßt. Der Service vom sehr freundlichen und aufmerksamen Personal war hervorragend. Die Speisen von unserer Truppe ( 8 Mann ) waren ausgesprochen lecker. Aus diesem Grund kann ich volle Punktzahl für dieses Gasthauses geben. Noch eine Empfehlung, während der AuerDult gibt es die besten Schaschlik in der Stadt. PS: Gestern war ich kurzentschlossen mit meiner Frau beim Schoberwirt, Sie war voll Begeistert vom Essen und Gasthaus. Freuen uns schon vom nächsten Besuch. Heinz

We went here for dinner for the first time on Saturday 11/23/24, based on a recommendation. I have to say it was excellent. The atmosphere is rustic and cozy. The service was very friendly and quick. The food was really excellent! Rarely have I had such a good onion roast. My companion was also more than enthusiastic about the roast pork. There can only be 5 stars here. We would love to come back.

Es hat eigentlich alles gepasst, daher eine von mir seltene „Fünf-Sterne-Bewertung“. Das Essen war preislich angemessen. Es war lecker und die Portionen mehr als ausreichend, vor allem, was den Kaiser-Schmarrn betrifft. Das Ambiente ist das eine guten Wirtshauses, nichts überkandideltes, hippes. Einfach und rustikal. Das Publikum nett, die Bedienungen aufmerksam, professionell und freundlich-zugewandt! Aber eben mit dem Zungenschlag eines Wirtshauses. Passt scho! Jederzeit wieder! Gleich morgen noch mal!

We had reserved a table but were a few minutes early. No problem at all. The landlord and the two waitresses were very friendly and accommodating. We had cheese spaetzle and a veal schnitzel. The food came very quickly and it tasted excellent. We would like to go there again on our next visit to Munich

We were just there to drink in this beautiful old Bavarian pub. Among other things, the unusual wines (e.g. Zierfandler-Rotgipfler) are highly recommended there. But not just these!

We have been to the Schoberwirt several times, as always everything was very good! 👍 I usually have the delicious roast pork, which tastes very good! For dessert we have often ordered a portion of Kaiserschmarrn with three forks; it would be too much for one person. 😉 By the way, the Kaiserschmarrn is far and away the best, I've never had one this good anywhere. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The entire staff has ALWAYS been very friendly to us, so I don't understand the negative reviews at all! They're just the eternal complainers🙄. We will come back soon! 😉

This was actually one of my favorite bars when it came to Bavarian food. However, the innkeeper uses a harsh tone. This is not how you want to be treated as a guest and this is obviously just about sales and revenue. It's a shame, but whatever...luckily there are many inns in Munich that put comfort before hard money.

Beautiful traditional inn on Mariahilfsplatz with a small beer garden in the inner courtyard. Good Bavarian cuisine and very tasty! For example, the potato salad and dumplings were homemade! Very very tasty and generous portions. But vegetarian and vegan dishes are also on the menu. Friendly service and good value for money. Thank you very much ;)

I'm going to take a little more time for this review. Precisely because I almost only give good reviews, if at all. I usually waste my time on bad experiences. We've been to the Schoberwirt several times now, playing cards. And it was made clear to us right from the start that we also had to consume properly, which we understood and adhered to. During our last visit, one of the four of us had no appetite and we only ordered three meals, at least for now. This prompted the innkeeper to lecture us in front of the assembled guests that it wasn't possible at all. After I pointed out to him that this was going a bit too far, he just said that he is 64 and he sets the rules; normally the tables are occupied twice in the evening. Well, we thought to ourselves, that's just the way it is. But the mood at the table was initially at zero. We still stayed, played, consumed food and also ordered two desserts. The total cost was around 150 euros. The service from the staff was also really okay. Of course, the other tables weren't occupied twice and the beer garden was never completely full. And at that point I still thought that the innkeeper would come to the table at some point and apologize for his behavior - or at the latest when paying. Because we always behaved properly. None. Conclusion: It was our last visit to the Schoberwirt. This has nothing to do with a friendly grumble, which I personally really like - no, that's just outrageous.

Nice Bavarian restaurant with local, down-to-earth cuisine. The prices are also reasonable. I particularly recommend the fried chicken and the Kaiserschmarrn. Addendum: In the past few weeks it has happened to us here twice that the two of us in a half-full restaurant were told "no chance!" is transported out again. Good Bavarian service and very tasty beer & food

Good home-style restaurant, like from the old days, known to me for over 60 years on the way to my apprenticeship. My wish (grandma, 85 years old) was to stop at the Schober Wirt with my grandson and it was totally worth it.

The fried pork cutlets are delicious and the desserts are quite traditional. The waiters are friendly and efficient, the prices are affordable, and it's a great downtown restaurant.

First of all, thanks to our children who live around the corner and are currently on vacation, so we finally got to the Schoberwirt. We ate very well, roast pork, roast roast and a sensational Kaiserschmarren and good wine from our own winery in the Wachau. The service was just as sensational, only the two of them managed the whole place, very attentive and with no waiting time. We felt really comfortable, the atmosphere is authentic, stylish and very cozy. We'll be back with the children. Thanks for a nice evening!

The guy in the apron is just funny. Later, only I read the reviews and realized that it turned out to be the owner - a rude, unpleasant person, about whom there are a lot of 1-star reviews. Lack of culture. He greeted us with the words “You are not at McDonald’s.” And we were waiting for an invitation to the table, we didn’t know which table to sit at.. Strange behavior and attitude towards the guests. He also didn’t ask when to serve the cappuccino and the coffee was served first, before lunch, I drank cold coffee. They brought pretzels that we didn’t order or eat, check the bill, it’s a scam. Not surprisingly, the tables are all empty, there are no visitors. I felt that you were not welcome here, that you were superfluous here. I'm mute, but not deaf. Never come here again!

It was very pleasant to sit in the beer garden, it was very quiet despite the busy main street. Staff very friendly and attentive. Prices are good for Munich. I ate roast pork with dumplings and coleslaw. Portion was more than enough and the taste was good. For dessert there was strawberry cake with cream. I think the cake was frosted briefly because the strawberries still tasted a bit like them. But it wasn't a problem. I left it for a few minutes and then the good strawberry flavor came through. We will come back.

I was there early in the evening during the week. Still, it was pretty fully booked. Because I was alone, I got a seat at the counter, which was fine with me. Due to the anniversary, the food was very cheap. The gentleman at the counter was super friendly and attentive. I felt very welcome and it was truly a balm for the soul for me. Here’s to the next 10 years! And on my next vacation I'll come back and reserve a table! ;)

Leider zum falschen Zeitpunkt eingekehrt. Schweinebraten zu Jubiläumspreis, natürlich überlaufen. Wir haben uns für Fisch entschieden. Rotbarschfilet gebacken mit Kartoffelsalat. Der Kartoffelsalat war sehr gut. Aber der Fisch war aus der Retorte, ein Tiefkühlprodukt der übelsten Sorte, viel zu krustig, innen glasig, vermutlich Seelachs. Die Remoulade bieb aus. Reklamieren bei dem gestressten, unfreundlichen Wirt - nicht zu empfehlen. Der Fairniss halber: Wir haben hier auch schon gut gegessen.

Five of us consumed the 10 year old offer today. Roast pork with 2 dumplings and bacon coleslaw including 0.5 l beer. A top offer. Quality and taste were very good. An exceptionally competent, quick and friendly waiter, Anton, was in charge of us. I think he managed the whole place. The only downer was the grumpy boss at the counter. That's why we almost wanted to turn back. If he were nicer, this would be one of the best restaurants in the Au.

Excellent quickly food and drinks. Friendly welcoming atmosphere. It was a busy Friday evening when we booked dinner here for a group of 7. We were seated upon arrival and had our drinks order taken straight away. They looked very busy but we weren’t made to wait too long for neither our drinks nor our meals. Quality of food was outstanding. And the gentleman looking after our table was never in a hurry to crack a couple of jokes. The whole place had a really authentic and warm atmosphere. I tried several other restaurants in Munich, but this one is my favourite!
