Beautiful traditional inn on Mariahilfsplatz with a small beer garden in the inner courtyard. Good Bavarian cuisine and very tasty! For example, the potato salad and dumplings were homemade! Very very tasty and generous portions. But vegetarian and vegan dishes are also on the menu. Friendly service and good value for money. Thank you very much ;)

I'm going to take a little more time for this review. Precisely because I almost only give good reviews, if at all. I usually waste my time on bad experiences. We've been to the Schoberwirt several times now, playing cards. And it was made clear to us right from the start that we also had to consume properly, which we understood and adhered to. During our last visit, one of the four of us had no appetite and we only ordered three meals, at least for now. This prompted the innkeeper to lecture us in front of the assembled guests that it wasn't possible at all. After I pointed out to him that this was going a bit too far, he just said that he is 64 and he sets the rules; normally the tables are occupied twice in the evening. Well, we thought to ourselves, that's just the way it is. But the mood at the table was initially at zero. We still stayed, played, consumed food and also ordered two desserts. The total cost was around 150 euros. The service from the staff was also really okay. Of course, the other tables weren't occupied twice and the beer garden was never completely full. And at that point I still thought that the innkeeper would come to the table at some point and apologize for his behavior - or at the latest when paying. Because we always behaved properly. None. Conclusion: It was our last visit to the Schoberwirt. This has nothing to do with a friendly grumble, which I personally really like - no, that's just outrageous.

This was actually one of my favorite bars when it came to Bavarian food. However, the innkeeper uses a harsh tone. This is not how you want to be treated as a guest and this is obviously just about sales and revenue. It's a shame, but whatever...luckily there are many inns in Munich that put comfort before hard money.

I just asked if there was a place available to eat. The man (hopefully not the HOST) at the counter responded very unfriendly to me, so I have to look, don't rush me, we've been waiting for you.??? What does this person even allow himself to do? That's bad for business. Will never enter the restaurant again.

Very tasty and large portions at reasonable prices. At Dult there is always Munich shashlik, which is really good. Service as always friendly and accommodating.

Nice Bavarian restaurant with local, down-to-earth cuisine. The prices are also reasonable. I particularly recommend the fried chicken and the Kaiserschmarrn. Addendum: In the past few weeks it has happened to us here twice that the two of us in a half-full restaurant were told "no chance!" is transported out again. Good Bavarian service and very tasty beer & food

Good home-style restaurant, like from the old days, known to me for over 60 years on the way to my apprenticeship. My wish (grandma, 85 years old) was to stop at the Schober Wirt with my grandson and it was totally worth it.

The fried pork cutlets are delicious and the desserts are quite traditional. The waiters are friendly and efficient, the prices are affordable, and it's a great downtown restaurant.

First of all, thanks to our children who live around the corner and are currently on vacation, so we finally got to the Schoberwirt. We ate very well, roast pork, roast roast and a sensational Kaiserschmarren and good wine from our own winery in the Wachau. The service was just as sensational, only the two of them managed the whole place, very attentive and with no waiting time. We felt really comfortable, the atmosphere is authentic, stylish and very cozy. We'll be back with the children. Thanks for a nice evening!

The guy in the apron is just funny. Later, only I read the reviews and realized that it turned out to be the owner - a rude, unpleasant person, about whom there are a lot of 1-star reviews. Lack of culture. He greeted us with the words “You are not at McDonald’s.” And we were waiting for an invitation to the table, we didn’t know which table to sit at.. Strange behavior and attitude towards the guests. He also didn’t ask when to serve the cappuccino and the coffee was served first, before lunch, I drank cold coffee. They brought pretzels that we didn’t order or eat, check the bill, it’s a scam. Not surprisingly, the tables are all empty, there are no visitors. I felt that you were not welcome here, that you were superfluous here. I'm mute, but not deaf. Never come here again!

It was very pleasant to sit in the beer garden, it was very quiet despite the busy main street. Staff very friendly and attentive. Prices are good for Munich. I ate roast pork with dumplings and coleslaw. Portion was more than enough and the taste was good. For dessert there was strawberry cake with cream. I think the cake was frosted briefly because the strawberries still tasted a bit like them. But it wasn't a problem. I left it for a few minutes and then the good strawberry flavor came through. We will come back.

Absolute favorite restaurant in Munich. The quality of the food is always convincing, very friendly and attentive service. The atmosphere is very cozy and there is a good distance between the tables, which makes conversations always pleasant. You can recommend the restaurant with a clear conscience (especially the schnitzel with the very tasty side salad).😊

I was there early in the evening during the week. Still, it was pretty fully booked. Because I was alone, I got a seat at the counter, which was fine with me. Due to the anniversary, the food was very cheap. The gentleman at the counter was super friendly and attentive. I felt very welcome and it was truly a balm for the soul for me. Here’s to the next 10 years! And on my next vacation I'll come back and reserve a table! ;)

A great place to go any time! Sure it is old style by interior. But the atmosphere is great. Young and old goes to meet and eat. Well, don't forget, they have German local 🍺! And the prices are good. Fast service. LGBTQI* people are welcome! The best place in town to have "Kaiserschmarrn" (scambled pancake). One portion is good for 2 people. BTW: You can reserve via their website.

Leider zum falschen Zeitpunkt eingekehrt. Schweinebraten zu Jubiläumspreis, natürlich überlaufen. Wir haben uns für Fisch entschieden. Rotbarschfilet gebacken mit Kartoffelsalat. Der Kartoffelsalat war sehr gut. Aber der Fisch war aus der Retorte, ein Tiefkühlprodukt der übelsten Sorte, viel zu krustig, innen glasig, vermutlich Seelachs. Die Remoulade bieb aus. Reklamieren bei dem gestressten, unfreundlichen Wirt - nicht zu empfehlen. Der Fairniss halber: Wir haben hier auch schon gut gegessen.

Five of us consumed the 10 year old offer today. Roast pork with 2 dumplings and bacon coleslaw including 0.5 l beer. A top offer. Quality and taste were very good. An exceptionally competent, quick and friendly waiter, Anton, was in charge of us. I think he managed the whole place. The only downer was the grumpy boss at the counter. That's why we almost wanted to turn back. If he were nicer, this would be one of the best restaurants in the Au.

Gemütliche Gaststube, gutes Essen und nette Kellner. Wir werden aber dennoch dort nicht mehr einkehren, weil der Wirt ein geradezu arrogantes und gastfeindliches Gebaren an den Tag legt - und das ist leider keine Einzelerfahrung.

Excellent quickly food and drinks. Friendly welcoming atmosphere. It was a busy Friday evening when we booked dinner here for a group of 7. We were seated upon arrival and had our drinks order taken straight away. They looked very busy but we weren’t made to wait too long for neither our drinks nor our meals. Quality of food was outstanding. And the gentleman looking after our table was never in a hurry to crack a couple of jokes. The whole place had a really authentic and warm atmosphere. I tried several other restaurants in Munich, but this one is my favourite!

Das Essen ist wirklich sehr gut und preislich echt o.k. Leider ist der Wirt ziemlich muffig. Wir waren schon ganz oft da und bisher vom Essen her sehr zufrieden. Fürs Bezahlen muss man neuerdings an die Theke gehen - der Kellner macht das nicht am Tisch. War uns bisher nicht bekannt. Das passt unseres Erachtens nicht in eine bayerische Wirtschaft.

Whenever we are in Munich, we have to visit the Schoberwirt!

Das Lokal selbst ist traditionell, sauber eingerichtet mit schönen Stuckdetails an den Decken und Holzvertäfelung an den Wänden. Der Service, den hier viele andere bemängeln, ist halt typisch bayrisch, für uns jetzt kein Problem. Die bestellten Gerichte wurden sehr schnell gebracht und haben wirklich sehr gut geschmeckt, auch die Portionen waren angemessen und ausreichend. Einziges Manko, was ich nach Durchsicht der anderen Bewertungen jetzt doch zur Verbesserung habe… die Kommentare des Restaurants auf negative Bewertungen. Als Wirt ist man allen voran eben doch Dienstleister und auf Kunden angewiesen. Hätte ich diese Kommentare vorab gelesen, hätte ich es mir tatsächlich überlegt, ob ich dort essen gehe. Ist halt super schade, da die Qualität und das Angebot des Lokals stimmen. Einfach das Temperament etwas runter und öffentlich keine spitzen Kommentare abgeben. Ein Gast ist NIE schuld an etwas, hier muss der Service Gedanke einfach etwas verbessert werden.

El mejor restaurante alemán en el que he estado. Pequeño y acogedor. Amigables, chapurreando español. Super super simpáticos. El menú es pequeño pero espectacular. Tenéis que probar las carrilleras. Luego pedimos el postre y nos reíamos porque parecía un postre para 8!

Das Essen hat hervorragend geschmeckt. Die Bedienungen waren äußerst aufmerksam und freundlich.

Wir waren heute zu viert beim Schoberwirt und wir waren vom Essen leider sehr enttäuscht. Das Wiener Schnitzel schmeckte und sah aus, wie aus der Fritteuse. Ich konnte das Fleisch nicht mal als Kalbfleisch zuordnen, sondern eher als Putenfleisch. Die 2 Fleischpflanzerl waren winzig und schmeckten auch nicht besonders. Eigentlich mögen wir den Schoberwirt. Ich hoffe nur, dass dies ein Ausrutscher war. Bei wiederholtem Reinfall müssen wir uns eine Alternative suchen.

Ich liebe Orte mit Tradition, so auch diesen Wirt. Mein Fisch war lecker gebraten und mit Mandelkruste auch hochwertig gemacht. 2 Sterne Abzug für die Frechheit hier Fertiggemüse und kreisrunde Karotten anzubieten. Jede frühere Köchin des Hauses würde sich im Grab umdrehen.

Urig schön! Zwiebelrostbraten ist einer der Besten Münchens. Ergänzung: fantastische Gans und Rotkraut. Das Schoberwirt Team ist zuvorkommend, immer (kinder)freundlich und mit dem urigen Spass dabei. Eins der schönsten Gaststätten Münchens.

Waren am Sonntag zum Enten- und Gansessen! Unsere Erwartungen wurden weit übertroffen. Ein Dank an die Küche. Das Serviceteam inkl. Chef war wie immer 1A! Schnell, aufmerksam und freundlich! Werden bald wieder vorbeischauen!

Very nice restaurant within walking distance of our vacation rental. Authentic and delicious German food and the kitchen stays open late. A pleasant local shared his table with us so we could wacth the soccer match.

I loved it! At first it felt like the restaurant is closed but we were greeted by a lovely gentleman who seated us at a lovely garden tables. We were treated to a refreshing salad and tasty pretzel basket. We ordered Swabian pork chops and pork Schnitzel with a beer each. The meal was delicious and warm. Loved the evening well spent. Price : value for money. Highly recommended
