Löwenbräukeller - Das Original in München

Roast pork: lukewarm, slices as if cut by a primary school student, crust completely cold, potato dumplings from a large package, gravy lukewarm and tasting like powder. Almost 18 euros for this is unreasonable. I would have expected that at a motorway service station, but not here. Service was quick and friendly. The beer garden was poorly lit. Apparently, so many tourists come automatically that they don't even have to make an effort. The beer is good, but it was poured with 25% foam.

There are some must-see places if you go to Munich. Beer gardens are one of them. This one is very beautiful and very well placed.

There's nothing better than filling your stomach in the Löwenbräu Keller - the food is good, the beer is flowing and the waiters are so friendly that you're in the wrong movie. And what should I say? You won't get ripped off here. Running!

Okay, but nothing more. Crusted roast: meat dry, crust partly. glass hard Spare ribs: from the day before, warmed up, fatty meat, everything completely covered in a dark, rather lousy ketchup-like sauce. Toilets: Get over it! Broken, dirty, disgusting smell. The waitress was well aware of these facts. Not again.

We come here regularly after work and have always been satisfied. However, a system is creeping in here that is based either on intent or carelessness. Ingredients (especially expensive ones) are “forgotten” in the dishes. For salad with porcini mushrooms, add the mushrooms. In the case of asparagus salad with salmon and rösti, the salmon and rösti are not there. When it comes to baked apples, you're missing a scoop of ice cream, etc... You save quite a bit a day. Some tourists may not notice this or don't dare say anything. You should rethink it or train the staff better. There was hardly anything going on those days. It couldn't be due to stress. Service was always nice. The food itself was delicious.

Ok, the place is impressive and beautiful. Dark wood, cool vibe comfortable seating. The menu feature the usual Beer Garden fare and the prices are in line. The service on the other hand was dismal. We sat and immediately were asked for our order before we had opened the menu. We ordered drinks and on return the waiter again asked for the order. We again said we needed time….we were in no hurry…..he obviously was. After a bit we ordered and the food came quickly. Everything was good and nicely presented. I asked for mustard and he forgot! Had to wave him down and it finally arrived. Had to again had to wave him down for drink refills. Now I understand when the place is packed but this was at 4:30 and the place was 10% full. Overall the place is nice but the service is so bad that I will not return…there are too many other options.

I went to Löwenbräu with a friend today and unfortunately didn't have a good experience. There were two hairs in my plate - very unappetizing. The goulash soup tasted like it came from a can, and the schnitzel was rather mediocre. Although you had to pay to use the toilet, there was no toilet paper or soap and the general condition was unsanitary. The waiter also seemed a bit strange in his dealings. Overall, unfortunately, it was a visit that I wouldn't want to repeat.

Great ambience, delicious food, a little difficult to get to the sauerkraut that was hidden under the mountains of meat. Someone knew this and "dug it up" for me ;-) The service was friendly and quick, it was a great evening.

All the food was great. The pork knuckle, the currywurst, and the spatzle were all amazing. Cool atmosphere and great music as well.

- Food comes out quickly - I don't like it when the staff calculates individual beers for the group. It was hard work and there was no tip. I gave a tip of 15 euros, but I guess it wasn't enough.

Be sure to reserve as a group. The food was delicious and the service was friendly if a little overwhelmed. Entertainment created a great atmosphere.

This place was excellent. We visited twice during our trip to Munich and both times sat in the outdoor beer garden. One time it was really busy and the other time a bit more quieter. Both were great vibes. Great beer. Really good food. And the live music on the weekend was a great touch. Out of all the 'big six' breweries in Munich, this was definitely our favourite!

Although according to the website the kitchen closes at 10 p.m. at the earliest, dessert can no longer be ordered at 9:40 p.m. Well, not then.

Unfortunately not recommended. We were there in a larger group and ordered several fried chicken. Apparently supplies were tight, as some of us received significantly smaller portions than others - a far cry from what we had previously seen on other plates. When asked, the friendly waiter honestly confirmed that it was not the regular portion and that the kitchen was currently overwhelmed. A proactive apology or an alternative offer? None. When we asked whether we could accommodate the price, it was also rejected after consultation with the "boss". The fried chicken itself was dry, consisted mostly of bones and was disappointing in taste. Overall a very unsatisfactory experience.

Always a good address for hearty Bavarian food in a pleasant atmosphere.

Went there with several people for dinner around lunchtime. Almost empty inside and around 15 tables occupied outside, so there wasn't much going on compared to the fact that there were 6 service people there. Drinks ordered so far so good. Another waiter came again to confirm the drinks. (There were a few mistakes/everything good can happen). Food ordered so far so good. The first half was finished eating for 30 minutes until the wrong food was finally brought. So wait longer again 45 minutes after the first half finished eating, the others' food arrives. At this point, I would say it's a good idea to clear away the empty plates and since 8 out of 10 people didn't have anything to drink, you could definitely ask if you could bring something else. Emphasis on COULD. Well, everyone finished eating and again no one came for 25 minutes until a colleague went out to smoke and asked for the bill, even if we would have liked to stay longer, but with the service, none of us wanted to wait another 30 minutes for drinks. After his smoking break there was still no one to be seen when we finally decided to get up and collectively ask for the bill. Unfortunately, we were put off because we all wanted to pay at once and only the kitchen and the bar were to blame why everything took so long. But there was no apology from him and I have to say that the service made enough mistakes. I work in the catering industry and things can go wrong and have happened to me myself, which is why I don't have a problem with that, but that was the worst catering experience I've ever had.

Cozy atmosphere as you would expect from a pub. The vegan and vegetarian menu alone could be a little more diverse.

Very disappointing unfortunately. The exterior is depressing. At least when it comes to my food. The spare ribs were hard, dry and drowned in BBQ sauce. I have to say that I always eat spare ribs, no matter where we are. So I have an idea and can rightly say that I can judge it very well. At the end, as usual, the waiter asked if everything was okay and when I expressed my disappointment to him, he didn't listen to the end and just left 😳 When he left he apologized, but that didn't make up for it.

If you get a meal here, you can consider yourself lucky. Absolutely no recommendation. I would prefer any Rewe to Go. Never been so disappointed.

In Munich each Seven Sisters brewery is a usually historic and fascinating building. This is one of the most beautiful, with typical furnishings, a central counter and a musical band to cheer you up. There is also a large outdoor area. Good beers, spectacular shank, one of the best in all of Munich. Absolutely worth trying.

We are absolutely thrilled – we have never experienced such warm and attentive staff! The service is top, as is the price-performance ratio. Clear recommendation!

There was a lively band playing, and entry was free of charge. The beer was wonderful, and the BBQ was the perfect touch.

On March 13th I called and had eight people make reservations for Easter Monday at 12:30, I was also promised, everything was great. We were happy. We arrived with growling stomachs...what can I say: the Löwenbräukeller was closed: on Easter Monday only from 4 p.m. How can it be that a reservation is accepted for a period that is closed?! Never again Löwenbräukeller. We ate at the competition, there are plenty of them in Munich.

Away from the hustle and bustle of the old town, you can enjoy one of the traditional breweries in the Löwebräukeller. When the weather is good, the shady garden is very inviting, but the atmosphere in the brewery is also very nice. Löwenbräu is without a doubt one of the best beers in Munich. The service staff are very friendly and always attentive. Drinks and food were served without a long wait. Because of the location alone, I'm always happy to be a guest here.

We visited this place for dinner in the hope of experiencing authentic Bavarian cuisine. The food was decent, but the service was extremely slow. We had to ask the waiter to come back over and over again to take our order. There was a lot of noise, and the manager told us that if we were seated outside, we would have to wait even longer. Very little gender diversity: the restaurant was packed, full of loud, uncouth male clients, some of whom seemed to be drunk. Overall, a deeply disappointing experience. I would not recommend this establishment.

Today I was in the beautiful beer garden again with my wife at around half past two after a long time. Unfortunately, our expectations were bitterly disappointed. We ordered half a chicken and a currywurst (probably unique in Germany) without fries. Boy boy, these were both by far the worst things I've ever eaten. Both extremely dry. At prices that are simply a disgrace for the quality delivered. And yes, the “manager” offered us a new dish after our complaint. But that's not the point. It's just that you expect good quality at such prices. That's it for us now. Apparently the restaurant management is not interested in a "traditional tavern" as advertised but only in a quick euro from tourists. It's a shame that such a historic inn is run

The unpleasant waiter snorts as if we were wasting his time

I love taking friends to the Löwenbräukeller to get a classic Munich experience. I probably won't anymore because of the last bad experiences with service there. Our server was pushy taking orders, and then completely negligent afterwards -- totally uninterested. We had to order drinks with him multiple times before they came, and the final tab included drinks that never came, which we had to negotiate off the tab. (And they were not very busy -- just inattentive.) The food also came out staggered over about 15 minutes -- not really possible to eat together for our party of 8. Sorry to see this classic Munich restaurant going downhill.

It is my Beergarden of preference to bring my friends when they visit me in Munich. I mostly like the garden but the interior is also nice. Food is pretty good. Menus are available in different languages. The waiters can range from very friendly to rather rude.

Disastrous experience at the bauma event: there was a vegan menu on the menu, which I signed up for straight away. The starter (salad) came about 1 hour after the regular starter was served, everyone else's plates had already been cleared by then. The main course didn't come at all, about 30 minutes after the complaint I was told that unfortunately it was too late now, but I could eat dessert. I've really never experienced anything like this before.

Review of the strong beer festival... Everything used to be better. Beer benches instead of chairs, narrow beer tables instead of bar tables, only one band (which was very good) instead of two. No more Stoahebn or other supporting program.... Beer price like at the Oktoberfest, Löwenbräukeller, how nice you were back then... Now you're just "ordinary"... What a shame..

We were here for breakfast. The food and drinks were great and the beer garden is very cozy. Unfortunately the experience was greatly marred by the behavior of the maître. Of the three major breweries in Munich, this is the most reasonable and friendly. Overall, the food was satisfactory and the servers were friendly.

Went for the starkbier festival. Good service, very different from Paulaner's festival, which was also very good.

I've only ever been when it isn't busy but I've always been happy to be there and to get a couple of beers and some food. The food is hearty and proper German. On occasion they have a band playing which adds to the atmosphere but I enjoy just being I'm the building anyway. The beer is simply lovely!

We don't live far away and have given the Löwenbräukeller a chance several times and have been disappointed each time. In contrast to comparable places in the city, the prices are by far the highest. But you also get the city's underground service. All the service staff across the board are standing around bored, chatting with each other and making every guest feel absolutely unwanted. Sometimes I thought I had to apologize when I wanted to place an order. We had to wait several times for more than 20 minutes in the relaxed atmosphere in the beer garden and also inside the restaurant until our order was taken and another 20 minutes until the first drinks were brought. We will never visit this inn again.

amazing place! my friends and i stumbled on while bar hoping right into a massive concert like event. it was super fun and the band had great energy. from an american perspective - it was exactly like what you always hear about for germany! would totally go again.

The only thing that wasn't right: a BLACK woman was hired as the toilet attendant. I think that for such a not-so-difficult job, people from this continent, for example, should be hired, rather than Black people. Black people are welcome in the service! They actually say that you can't go wrong with a schnitzel in a Bavarian restaurant. But what was delivered here was definitely not worthy of a Löwenbräukeller. I would even say it's an absolute impudence and then it's on the weekly menu, where you already have an attitude of expectation. Any schnitzel from a gas station snack bar is better. Two small, wafer-thin slices of meat made in the fryer and a “ready-made potato salad” from the wholesale market. The main thing is that they are cheap to produce and sold at a high price. Nobody will be interested in the criticism, since so many tourists only go in here once and the store is still always full, you can reduce the quality.

Dear Löwenbräu team, I was at your strong beer festival last Saturday at a reserved table, which unfortunately didn't quite meet my expectations... 1. They say you can pay with a card, but the personal waitress then makes it very clear to you that this is undesirable... Volskfest vibes or not, it's ultimately a pub where the standard should be to be able to pay by card without any problems (even at the strong beer festival) 3. And the reason for my review: The prices of the measurements are very unclear! It says on the Insta post of the party department (the cooperation with your strong beer festival) that a liter actually costs €13.50, I was allowed to pay €14.50... Just like with the strong beer, in the reservation portal it costs €14.50, I paid €15.50... (in the portal there is also a liter of normal beer plus entrance fee €14.50? Unfortunately the prices are not comprehensible) I really like the Löwenbräukeller, but to be honest I think that's a disgrace. You come there as a Munich resident and then get ripped off like a run-of-the-mill tourist... You can do that in the Oktoberfest tent, but not here... perhaps this information can be passed on to the staff I'm happy to be corrected if I've misunderstood something somewhere, but I think that's a real shame...

No, Augustinerkeller goes. Cheaper and better. Unfortunately, the meat here was not edible and cost too much. I find €33 for a tough stake simply cheeky. In August it costs €23 and you get more sauce.
