Expensive and mediocre food, waiters don't come to the tables at all and there's a long wait for everything

The food was very good, the adjoining room was nice, but unfortunately the service was completely overwhelmed. We had to ask for cutlery and napkins after the food was already on the table. A tray with cutlery was brought, and stacks of napkins were brought to the tables upon further request.

Löwenbräukeller. Let the name of the place not leave you perplexed - sitting in the actual cellar is not the only option: there is a biergarten, a spacious hall and secluded places to have a drink with your company. The food is good, the drinks are good, and in case you are a fan of singing along there is an in-house band going from table to table, that'd play literally everything you can think of with a touch of German authenticity!

The food is homely and the prices are fair. Service is friendly, but ordering drinks after the first round was difficult. The atmosphere is stylish and cozy.

Pleasant ambiance in the beer garden, unfortunately grotesquely overpriced. Drinks (Helles 5.60) and food are priced at the same level as at Marienplatz, without offering any particular quality.

The Löwenbräukeller is definitely worth a visit. The service was very friendly and everything was always super quick. It's also not as busy as the Hofbräuhaus. So if you want to experience Munich flair with less fuss, this is the place for you!

Arrived just after kitchen had shut at 10.00 which was a shame. Miserable waiter reluctantly agreed we could stay for a drink. After 1 drink we, and rest of guests were strongly encouraged to pay up and leave before 10.30. Like previous reviews seems like spoilt by some Miserable staff and rush to get rid of customers if it's a bit quiet. Disappointing first experience of my first german bierkeller. Similar experience to other reviews, needs addressed by management.

Nice place to eat. Everything you would expect from one of the top brewery restaurants. Of course the beer was good but the pool and Uncle was also excellent (one of Germany's guilty pleasures...). There appears to be multiple venues at this site. I nearly skipped it because one of the venues with a similar name showed that they were closed on Google maps. I'm glad I dug a little deeper to find the restaurant was open. If you found this review helpful, please hit the like button.

It was empty on Sunday lunchtime. It's strange. But we stayed. Unfortunately. The food wasn't fresh. The grilled chicken was definitely from the day before (you can tell straight away). At the end we were asked if the meal was good. It wasn't. We were immediately offered something else. It felt like it was routine, so there are always complaints, and the staff are prepared for it. They also cut corners on the beer here. Despite everything being overpriced. Unfortunately not a single glass was filled properly. And to top it all off: we had to wait 19 minutes for the bill, even though the restaurant was almost empty. On purpose?

We met Matthias and Marta in the English Garden; without this pleasant encounter, we wouldn't have considered the beer garden. As a visitor to Munich, you should definitely check out the restaurants, especially since I had the BEST currywurst there, accompanied by a delicious beer. The service gives the impression that everyone is having a good time. I'd be happy to come back next time.

The food is average, the drinks are very good. Service is friendly but not the fastest, but the wait is still bearable. Definitely worth a visit.

The worst service. The place wasn’t even remotely full and none of the five incompetent waiters knew which one of them was supposed to take our table’s order. After an hour of asking and waiting we decided to leave.

I hope to be able to get in next time I visit the city.

Great place and lovely beer garden. Unfortunately, the staff here are too busy with themselves. They wear traditional costumes but different shoes that don't match at all.

I did not tip in the American way (I rounded up the amount to the closest amount in 10) and waiter confronted me by saying that they “live on the tips” (this is the exact word, I do not know how this can be regarded as a “polite reminder”). That German aggression was shockingly real. Maybe it’s true and the restaurant is not obeying the German labor law, in which case I will change this review back to 5 stars and report to labor authorities.

The sausages are delicious, but the pickled cabbage is a bit salty for Taiwanese people. It is delicious, but because it is too salty, only a pile of it is left. However, the horseradish shreds on the top are delicious, but it’s a pity that there are too few... You can sit outdoors if you don’t mind the smoke and noise, but because there are no guests sitting inside, it is cooler and quieter than outdoors, suitable for dining alone!

The atmosphere is simply relaxing. The food, the service, everything is top-notch. You can tell that the work here is done with a lot of passion and professionalism! What I absolutely cannot understand is CJ's review. I read it myself – and quite honestly: You rarely read such a dubious and unbelievable description. Of course, there are contracts in Germany, and of course everything is regulated here. What was claimed there seems completely unfounded and cannot be taken seriously by anyone with a modicum of knowledge.

I don't have much to say about this place. We arrived a bit late and sadly the kitchen was already closed. We just had the chance to drink one beer because the waiter made us leave very early. The atmosphere is nice, but the service could use some improvement.

Nice beer garden. Unfortunately, you pay for the "city center" location. A half-pint of dark beer costs €5.60, which is decent. The seating is nice, though.

We came here very often 30 years ago and really enjoyed it. It was still very busy and the beer garden bar was well-stocked. Now the bar is almost empty, and there were only roast pork or chicken options. We decided on roast pork, which was a roast pork carpaccio with a cold dumpling. I was HUNGRY after the two slices of pork roast and the dumplings! We came here often 30 years ago... Even after our registry office. Then every now and then over the years, but today was definitely the last time.

Service does not listen to your order. Twice I ordered a Maß, but got half a liter, or just another beer. The waiter did not bother to properly split the bill with the group. Unfortunately, that is the service I expect.

Waiter added 20 euro-worth beer on the check, that we didn’t ask and didn’t drink. Unfortunately, we had to go to the train station and only noticed it later, could not go back and argue. I definitely do not recommend the place.

Good restaurant and beer garden, has both indoor and outdoor dining areas. The fried goat cheese salad was probably one of the best salads I’ve ever eaten. The charcuterie platter was also very good; beer was decent.

Value for money? More like a price-performance crime. For that money, I could have bought three frozen pizzas and still had some change left over for a bottle of wine—and that would probably have been the culinary salvation of the evening. Conclusion: If you're happy to pay a lot for little, this is the place for you. For everyone else, it's best to steer clear—or head straight to your favorite frozen food aisle.

We were there for a morning pint, but unfortunately the weather was bad, so we were only able to eat inside. Nevertheless, the building's history is very impressive, and you feel very comfortable there. The service was excellent; we, as Franconians, were well-treated. The food is okay, although in some places you can tell it's geared towards tourists. We'd be happy to go back!

The restaurant is like a mass-produced restaurant. The pancake soup is simply served with salty broth, but otherwise nothing special.

We came for dinner with 8 friends, hoping to try the famous beer and food but the experience was extremely disappointing. From the start, communication was difficult, and instead of helping us, the staff reacted with rudeness and impatience. We waited over an hour for our food, all while being treated with a consistently irritated and dismissive attitude. When they finally asked if they could serve the food, we still had to wait another 30 minutes before eating. Dessert? Forget it! the kitchen was already closed by 21:30, and we were simply told “too late.” Final bill? 45€ euro each for a plate and two beers? Absolutely not worth it. Unfriendly service, long waits, no flexibility. Never coming back.

Very slow service, took 30min to order and 40mins to get the food. Waiters were all rude and looked like they could not care less about customers. Would not recommend.

Good atmosphere in this typical restaurant on the eve of the Champions League final. The waitress raised the level of sociability of her colleague. We ate and drank very well (great beer) great value for money.

Very poor service. We asked for red cabbage twice, but it wasn't served. The waitress never came to refill our drinks. We were only spoken to in English. Prices were outrageous for the tiny portions. The schnitzel was dripping with fat. Recommended only for tourists.

Provides the typical Bavarian beer hall experience, but not at a quality higher than what is found thousands of miles outside of the region at any replica. If you’re here in Munich, you should go elsewhere.

Great and amazing typical Germany food. The place is very nice!

Too bad because overall it was a nice evening, but the treatment of the middle-aged blond waiter was unacceptable. He never smiled at us, he threw dishes on the table all evening, including the POS to pay at the end of the evening, without even saying thank you or saying goodbye. Maybe because we were Italian? I don't know, considering that my boyfriend is from Alto Adige and interacted with him completely in German without any problems.

Much quieter environment and more family-friendly layout than the Hofbräuhaus. Excellent food as well, and good service. Their beer is a bit lighter than the others'.

We were seated in a sort of private room, where we could sit much more quietly than in the large dining room. The food was delicious and homemade, the service was friendly, and the prices were reasonable. We really enjoyed our meal here.

I have been to this pub many times and have always had a good time. The second to last time they tried to overcharge us, but I thought it was the waiter's mistake. This time I did the math afterwards and they actually overcharged us. I'm sorry because it's a nice place but I will never go back

Great location for larger events with excellent service and delicious food

The liver dumpling soup was good; if it had been hot, it would have been fantastic. The warm chocolate cake was truly delicious, with a super-liquid center, truly amazing.

I wouldn't recommend it. A very nice brewery. A nice beer garden...that's it. The price/performance ratio isn't right. The food was rather bland and unimaginative. The roast pork was more like a child's portion. No comparison to the Wiener Platz beer garden. A real shame.

A beer garden where you are still well served, inside or outside.

A very large restaurant with Munich tradition and a large outdoor area. The Löwenbräukeller is busy, and the interior isn't exactly conducive to lively conversation. But that's beside the point if you want to experience something. Fascinating that a three-man brass band can entertain the entire restaurant—hats off. The food is hearty and good. The staff is extremely friendly and simply admirable.

The asparagus soup was excellent, but extremely expensive. The spare ribs were also expensive, but unfortunately really bad: hardly any meat and very tough. Particularly bad: The beer was poorly poured; it was about a thumb's width short of the 0.5 l mark after the foam had settled! The service was very good, though!

The worst waiter in the world... He treated us very badly. I don't even want to give it a star. He just added a tip without my consent.

Roast pork: lukewarm, slices as if cut by a primary school student, crust completely cold, potato dumplings from a large package, gravy lukewarm and tasting like powder. Almost 18 euros for this is unreasonable. I would have expected that at a motorway service station, but not here. Service was quick and friendly. The beer garden was poorly lit. Apparently, so many tourists come automatically that they don't even have to make an effort. The beer is good, but it was poured with 25% foam.

There are some must-see places if you go to Munich. Beer gardens are one of them. This one is very beautiful and very well placed.

There's nothing better than filling your stomach in the Löwenbräu Keller - the food is good, the beer is flowing and the waiters are so friendly that you're in the wrong movie. And what should I say? You won't get ripped off here. Running!

Service poor, prices overpriced

Okay, but nothing more. Crusted roast: meat dry, crust partly. glass hard Spare ribs: from the day before, warmed up, fatty meat, everything completely covered in a dark, rather lousy ketchup-like sauce. Toilets: Get over it! Broken, dirty, disgusting smell. The waitress was well aware of these facts. Not again.

Ok, the place is impressive and beautiful. Dark wood, cool vibe comfortable seating. The menu feature the usual Beer Garden fare and the prices are in line. The service on the other hand was dismal. We sat and immediately were asked for our order before we had opened the menu. We ordered drinks and on return the waiter again asked for the order. We again said we needed time….we were in no hurry…..he obviously was. After a bit we ordered and the food came quickly. Everything was good and nicely presented. I asked for mustard and he forgot! Had to wave him down and it finally arrived. Had to again had to wave him down for drink refills. Now I understand when the place is packed but this was at 4:30 and the place was 10% full. Overall the place is nice but the service is so bad that I will not return…there are too many other options.

I went to Löwenbräu with a friend today and unfortunately didn't have a good experience. There were two hairs in my plate - very unappetizing. The goulash soup tasted like it came from a can, and the schnitzel was rather mediocre. Although you had to pay to use the toilet, there was no toilet paper or soap and the general condition was unsanitary. The waiter also seemed a bit strange in his dealings. Overall, unfortunately, it was a visit that I wouldn't want to repeat.

We come here regularly after work and have always been satisfied. However, a system is creeping in here that is based either on intent or carelessness. Ingredients (especially expensive ones) are “forgotten” in the dishes. For salad with porcini mushrooms, add the mushrooms. In the case of asparagus salad with salmon and rösti, the salmon and rösti are not there. When it comes to baked apples, you're missing a scoop of ice cream, etc... You save quite a bit a day. Some tourists may not notice this or don't dare say anything. You should rethink it or train the staff better. There was hardly anything going on those days. It couldn't be due to stress. Service was always nice. The food itself was delicious.

Great ambience, delicious food, a little difficult to get to the sauerkraut that was hidden under the mountains of meat. Someone knew this and "dug it up" for me ;-) The service was friendly and quick, it was a great evening.

This place was excellent. We visited twice during our trip to Munich and both times sat in the outdoor beer garden. One time it was really busy and the other time a bit more quieter. Both were great vibes. Great beer. Really good food. And the live music on the weekend was a great touch. Out of all the 'big six' breweries in Munich, this was definitely our favourite!

Although according to the website the kitchen closes at 10 p.m. at the earliest, dessert can no longer be ordered at 9:40 p.m. Well, not then.

Apparently supplies were tight, as some of us received significantly smaller portions than others - a far cry from what we had previously seen on other plates. When asked, the friendly waiter honestly confirmed that it was not the regular portion and that the kitchen was currently overwhelmed. A proactive apology or an alternative offer? None. When we asked whether we could accommodate the price, it was also rejected after consultation with the "boss". The fried chicken itself was dry, consisted mostly of bones and was disappointing in taste. Overall a very unsatisfactory experience.

Went there with several people for dinner around lunchtime. Almost empty inside and around 15 tables occupied outside, so there wasn't much going on compared to the fact that there were 6 service people there. Drinks ordered so far so good. Another waiter came again to confirm the drinks. (There were a few mistakes/everything good can happen). Food ordered so far so good. The first half was finished eating for 30 minutes until the wrong food was finally brought. So wait longer again 45 minutes after the first half finished eating, the others' food arrives. At this point, I would say it's a good idea to clear away the empty plates and since 8 out of 10 people didn't have anything to drink, you could definitely ask if you could bring something else. Emphasis on COULD. Well, everyone finished eating and again no one came for 25 minutes until a colleague went out to smoke and asked for the bill, even if we would have liked to stay longer, but with the service, none of us wanted to wait another 30 minutes for drinks. After his smoking break there was still no one to be seen when we finally decided to get up and collectively ask for the bill. Unfortunately, we were put off because we all wanted to pay at once and only the kitchen and the bar were to blame why everything took so long. But there was no apology from him and I have to say that the service made enough mistakes. I work in the catering industry and things can go wrong and have happened to me myself, which is why I don't have a problem with that, but that was the worst catering experience I've ever had.

Good food. Tourist trap prices 😕

Cozy atmosphere as you would expect from a pub. The vegan and vegetarian menu alone could be a little more diverse.
