A large event was being held by the employer, so it was held in the hall. The waiters were friendly and the dessert was delicious. The only downside: when we went to the bathroom during the break, our drinks were cleared away, even though there was still something left in everything...

The Augustiner Keller on Arnulfstraße, centrally located near the main train station and Hackerbrücke, isn't just a beer garden or a restaurant for me – it's a Munich institution and an absolute must for anyone who wants to experience the true Munich way of life. The moment you enter, you immediately feel at home. The atmosphere is simply incomparable: You sit comfortably together under old chestnut trees in the spacious beer garden, the cheerful chatter and the aroma of freshly tapped beer and hearty delicacies fill the air. Here, tradition meets warm hospitality. The freshly tapped Augustiner is at the perfect temperature and a delight every time. P.S.: The non-alcoholic beer, which is often regularly sold out, is also available. A special highlight that you shouldn't miss is Fischer Vroni's Steckerlfisch, which is grilled over charcoal. The crispy, juicy mackerel and salmon trout are a treat every time and, in my opinion, the best grilled fish you can get in Munich. They also serve a wide selection of classic Bavarian dishes such as chicken, pork knuckle, Obatzda (traditional Bavarian gravy), sausage salad, and Kaiserschmarren (a kind of pancake). And all at fair prices, which isn't always a given in Munich. The service in the waiting area is always friendly, attentive, and quick, even when the (many regular) tables are packed. Whether with friends, family, as a couple, or even alone – the Augustiner Keller is the perfect place to spend some relaxing time, unwind, and enjoy the Munich way of life. As a local, I always enjoy coming here and can recommend it without reservation. An absolute highlight in Munich that you shouldn't miss!

We visited the Augustiner Keller a few days ago and were thrilled. Even though we hadn't booked and it was very busy, the staff member ran around the beer garden until he found a seat for us (the two of us) in the table service area. Our server was very nice and friendly, even though he was very busy. The food was surprisingly good considering the quantity served there. An all-around successful experience!

I was impressed by the size of the beer garden. With so many guests, my first thought was, "Would I have to wait long for food and drinks?" No, I didn't have to wait long. The service was fast and the food was very friendly. Delicious food. I'd be happy to go back.

We had to try the landmark restaurant on our last night in Munich and it did not disappoint! It’s very filling and delicious but heavy foods. We tried the dessert too and it was all family approved. We tried a variety of traditional fare and the vegetarian mushroom dish was my favorite

In classic tourist fashion, we went to the Augustiner-Keller and got exactly what we expected. A brewery that serves a large number of people. But still with decent quality. We sat in the puppet theater, the assigned waiter came quickly, and we quickly ordered drinks and something to eat. The price for a liter of beer was still reasonable at under €10. The appetizer (broth with noodles) was okay. The main course (shank of pork and roast beef with onions) was both delicious. However, the price for the roast beef with onions was quite high for the relatively small portion. Overall, 4 stars are fine. You get what you expect, the food is okay, and the prices are generally reasonable.

We were only there for a beer. From the wooden barrels, of course, a top experience.

The way the waiters demand tips there is absolutely abysmal. We gave the standard 10% tip, and the waiter said we needed more if we wanted to come back, and then he ignored us for a while. It's disgusting how low we've sunk to accept such service in Germany.

€20 for a piece of bread with three slices of bacon and a bit of salad is pretty cheeky... All the other meals were good but also a bit overpriced.

Service, unfortunately, 1/10. Our visit was unfortunately severely marred by the behavior of one of the service employees. After we politely asked for more drinks, our request was simply refused – for no comprehensible reason. The way we were spoken to was unfriendly and inappropriate. We had the impression that the employee was unwilling to continue serving us. He responded rudely to our questions and made us feel that we were obviously no longer welcome. We have never experienced anything like this before and find it extremely disrespectful. Unfortunately, customer satisfaction does not seem to be a priority here. It's a shame, because under these circumstances we will definitely not be coming back.

I often come to the beer garden here, but yesterday's visit was a disaster: wilted chicken because the service couldn't keep up, and the kitchen piled all the food under mobile heat lamps - sorry, but that was cheeky!!! The service was a disaster, or rather totally unfriendly, and - it wasn't really full!!! That's where the wheat is separated from the chaff in terms of service; we certainly won't be sitting there again!!!

I like this spot a little further out of the main tourist area. Definitely a win if you are around the hbf. Solid Helles and Dunkel. A small but mighty schweinhaxe, knudel was a fair offering, but their sour kaut was unexpectedly stand out. Heck I would go back just for that! Servers were kind, just seat yourself in the main hall. Don't expect English (also, you are in Germany, try German), do expect prompt and polite service. Do expect authentic vibes, do expect kind locals!

The Augustiner beer garden is a true Munich original! Beautifully shaded under old chestnut trees, it offers a cozy atmosphere and a true taste of Bavarian life. The beer – as always fresh and drinkable – and the snacks go perfectly with it. A great place to relax, whether with friends or family. A definite recommendation for everyone.

Good service, nice ambiance, but stay away from the warm Leberkäse (meatloaf). The potato salad was good, but the warm Leberkäse (meatloaf) was completely soggy after probably sitting on the counter for hours. Truly awful. The rest, though, made a good impression.

Food: Since this is a brewery, the beer was really good. I ordered the pretzel & cheese platter + mixed grill. The combination of the pretzel and cheese was good, and it was perfect as a side dish. However, the food was really the worst… I think it was the worst restaurant I ate at during my trip. The meat was really dry and the sauce was really salty ㅜㅜ The price was not cheap, so I was really upset about this price. Service: The waiter who could speak English served us. There was an English menu, so it wasn’t bad. However, the waiter seemed to rush us a lot, so we ate quickly even though the food wasn’t tasty, and I felt bad when I left. Atmosphere: I tried to sit at an outdoor table and eat, but because of that damn cigarette ㅜㅜ Most of the people sitting in the garden were smoking. I ended up sitting inside. The problem was that the windows were open, so the cigarette smell came in ㅋㅋㅋ All German restaurants are like that.. ㅎㅎ Non-smokers, be prepared^^. Smokers will probably like it if you come here. You can smoke, drink, and eat without worrying about what other people think. Just drink and have a pretzel and leave.

A truly beautiful, quiet beer garden in the heart of Munich. The beer, of course, tastes absolutely AMAZING. The men's restrooms are also top-notch. I ate half the chicken for dinner. It was also big and tasty. A visit like this is definitely more fun with more people.

The food was very good. We had chicken and roast pork. Both are highly recommended. The only thing that was a bit annoying was that there were a lot of smokers around us. But maybe we're just not used to that anymore.

We were there with a large group. The atmosphere was great, but the atmosphere was very unfriendly. They were annoyed with every order and made a rude comment about everything. We had to pay at shift change, and the second condition was anything but competent. We went to the Augustiner-Keller, right by the Hackerbrücke bridge, with a large group on Whit Monday. It's a beautiful restaurant with a large beer garden and a great atmosphere. Our server was very attentive and funny, the food was delicious, and we felt very comfortable! There are several Augustiner restaurants in Munich, but I liked the Augustiner-Keller the best so far! We'd love to come back next time we're in Munich.

The beer was served to us well below the fill line. When the foam settled, it was still 2 cm deep. When we asked for a refill, the bartender gruffly refilled the glass. This wasn't amusing. Since we were sitting right at the bar, we watched the proceedings for a while. Most of the beers were just as poorly poured – and we left with far too little. We're a bit disappointed. From such a hotspot of global brewing culture, you'd expect the opposite – honest, full glasses! And even over the fill line – not even a penny for the honorable bartender…

Just foam here – we were at the Augustiner Keller with a few people. And, as is customary, we sipped a few light beers. And every light beer felt like half foam. So, at least a finger or two below the fill line.

Great traditional restaurant with good service and good food!

We were here on June 8, 2025. The beer was excellent. The food was delicious. The waiter left a terrible impression. Everything was fine until it was time to pay. I asked for the bill and said I would be paying by card. The waiter offered me to choose a tip amount on the terminal. I said I would leave the tip in cash. As I was leaving, I said “Thank you” to the waiter, to which he replied, “Thank you for nothing,” implying that I hadn’t left a tip. But I had left a cash tip on the table — 17% of the bill. When the waiter noticed the money on the table, he apologized, but by then I didn’t care anymore. This situation really upset me. My impression of the restaurant was ruined.

The place is huge, as is the garden where you can eat in the shade of the trees. You can choose between the classic restaurant where you are served at the table and the "self service", where you choose what to eat and drink and take it to one of the tables under the trees. The prices are normal

It is a special restaurant that can occupy i guess some hundred customers, the only issue is the loud noise the customers make, but it is all fun.

We went there for dinner today. The quality of the food was very good and the service was quick. The friendliness of some of the waitresses left a lot to be desired – even towards their colleagues. However, we were very lucky with our server, Nikoletta Balogh – thank you so much for that! We'll definitely be back.

Only had lunch. The lunch menu offers smaller portions, but absolutely sufficient for around €10. Absolutely top-notch for central Munich! Standard dishes are huge! Even the staff say: not everyone can manage that! Absolutely top-notch and friendly staff. Happy to have a chat. The beer garden is perfect for larger groups! Huge and incredibly green! Incredibly cozy! Very relaxed! ... And a 10-minute walk from the train station. ... And the liter of beer is absolutely delicious!

In addition to nice historic building, friendly staff, very large biergarten and selection of very tasty Bavarian food, the star of the show is Edelstoff served from wooden barrels which is a must try when visiting Munich.

The food was really good, but the service was the worst. The waiter was an old man with short white hair, and he just threw the food at me, didn't even ask if the food was ok, and when I was paying, he refused to tip. This is the first time something like this has happened to me, so I'm really embarrassed.

Corporate event with 200 invited guests. Buffet with a wide selection and very tasty. Staff were very attentive, never an empty glass or bottle on the table, and it was quite loud due to the large number of people and the band on stage.

I am not german. The waiter in this restaurant told me that in germany culture you cannot call the waiter. Just waiting for the waiter to ask you what you want. So, how to do if you want to order something? I saw other germany people call the waiter. I try to send the signal that I want to order something. Nobody service me. So, it is very sad to me. May be this restaurant is racist .If you are forienger, don‘t come to this restaurant. They won’t welcome you.

Under the arched roof with its colorfully decorated woodwork, we enjoyed a cold beer in an atmosphere elated by the loud mood of the other guests. Unfortunately, the food didn't taste as good as one would expect from such a traditional inn. Hard-to-identify objects in the beer glass, which could easily be mistaken for mouse droppings, dampened our spirits.

Disappointing Experience – Not the Cozy Inn As a native of Munich, I've always appreciated the Augustiner-Keller, but my last visit was unfortunately a bitter disappointment. We were a group of 15 people, had made two reservations, and were initially served friendly and professionally by the waiter. He was attentive despite the crowd and brought us our food and drinks promptly. But as his closing time approached, the atmosphere changed suddenly. We politely inquired whether we would have to stay at our table or move, as our second reservation was about to begin. The waiter promised to clarify the matter, but instead of a straightforward solution, we received an extremely rude response from a supervisor. Without further discussion, we were told that our behavior was "unacceptable" and that we would even be "blacklisted" – a completely excessive and inappropriate response to a simple inquiry. When we were finally instructed to move, we accepted it calmly. But what we were then told was unacceptable: every guest had to order a full meal, otherwise we would have to leave the restaurant. This demand completely ignored the fact that we had already eaten extensively – including main courses, desserts, and several rounds of beer. Rather than hospitality, the focus here was clearly on maximizing sales. The combination of the manager's rude attitude, the absurd demands, and the general rejection of guests who wanted to stay longer makes it clear that the Augustiner-Keller has strayed far from its original charm. This used to be a place of Bavarian hospitality – today it feels more like a tourist destination where regulars play a subordinate role. A real shame.

The Biergarten Agustiner-Keller is a great place for a tasty and typical Bavarian lunch. As in every Biergarten, the service is self-service and before sitting down at the table you go to the cashier to pay. The prices are average, I paid €13.90 for the plate of currywurst and French fries (very abundant). At Augustiner-Keller you can eat in the internal structure of the restaurant which also has an area where the tables are placed inside large beer barrels.

The food was okay. The service was average. The atmosphere was nice. We could talk comfortably even though it was very crowded and noisy.

The menu available online is much larger than the one on site – apparently, some dishes (according to the waiter) are only available in the parlor, but this isn't indicated on the menu. It's annoying if you've been looking forward to a particular dish beforehand. Conversations in the banquet hall are impossible because it's far too loud.

Cool Biergarten with a huge outdoor area as well as a playground for kids. Rule in every Biergarten in Bavaria: you have to pay for drinks, but bring your own food if you like.

It was near my accommodation, so I went there first when I arrived in Munich. The food was delicious and the beer was really good. I especially liked the stout. It is said to be the oldest private brewery, and the food was delicious and the atmosphere was good. The Radler was not too sweet and good, and my husband, who is a self-proclaimed lager lover and a true beer drinker, said the lager was smooth and the stout was good. The charismatic female staff and the attentive male staff were a good combination.

Visited the Augustinerkeller with friends from the USA... they were amazed. A must-see for tourists...

Augustiner-Keller in Munich! We hit up their beer hall, which is a blast. But I can say the hofbrauhaus is more lively. For food, you absolutely have to try the roast pork – it's phenomenal, especially with their potato dumpling. It goes down perfectly with their beer. Speaking of beer, while the Augustiner beer is classic, I personally preferred their wheat beer – so good! We were inside the beer hall, but they've also got this huge outdoor garden. Next time, I'm definitely making a beeline for the garden, though I suspect a lot of tourists just head straight for the hall, which is still a great time. Overall, Augustiner-Keller is totally worth the experience when you're in Munich. Just one little hiccup for me: when I asked for the bill, the server made me go to the counter, he directly asked for a tip! That was a bummer! He didnt have to, I always leave a tip anyway. But honestly, everything else was fantastic!You gotta check it out.

Historic Munich beer house, just a few steps from the center. The interior of the place is beautiful, but during the summer you can also eat in the beautiful park. The service is sufficient, but understandable given the high number of customers. Excellent beer and good food. Applause for the apple strudel. An added value: in the park there are games for children.

Wish we found this place earlier (and not on our last day here). They serve the best tasting Bavarian food! We had the sausage platter, beef soup with liver dumpling, and leberkase. All fantastic. We saw other tables enjoying the pfefferschnitzel, wish we tried that too.

was just walking by here and someone sprayed me on the sidewalk passing by with water from a pressure washer. went inside to talk to the manager, her couldn't be bothered to get off his phone to even speak to me directly. terrible service during working hours, even worse when not working.

Beautiful weather for a mothers day celebration at Augustinerkeller! The Kastanie trees shaded my group comfortably. Food and service are outstanding (as Biergartens go), and Augustiner is Munich's best bier. It was so fresh and good 🍻
