Wish we found this place earlier (and not on our last day here). They serve the best tasting Bavarian food! We had the sausage platter, beef soup with liver dumpling, and leberkase. All fantastic. We saw other tables enjoying the pfefferschnitzel, wish we tried that too.

Standard biergarten experience. Was really crowded on a sunny Sunday. But the waiting lines weren't that long (luckily) They have a nice space for kids and a few tables for parents.

Beautiful weather for a mothers day celebration at Augustinerkeller! The Kastanie trees shaded my group comfortably. Food and service are outstanding (as Biergartens go), and Augustiner is Munich's best bier. It was so fresh and good 🍻

We were staying in Munich and wanted to visit the famous Augustiner Cellar. Luckily my wife had reserved and we were surprised by the annex when we arrived. Typical Bavarian beer tent culture - you have to like the atmosphere 😉. The food we ordered was delivered extremely quickly, but we were not disappointed. Everything still tastes excellent. Home-brewed beer was very good 😋. In high season it might be a bit stressful - there is room for 5000 people in the garden!!! If we end up in Munich again, we will still go there again.

Summer in Munich is unthinkable without a visit to the Augustiner beer garden! As a Munich resident, I always like to come here - for me it is a piece of living pub culture in the middle of the city. The atmosphere is cozy and authentic, the service attentive and warm. I would particularly like to mention the non-alcoholic option – a real surprise for me! Pleasantly full of flavor – I drank three of them and could have continued. The food was also consistently good: down-to-earth, fresh and simply delicious. A place where you really feel comfortable as a Munich resident. I'm already looking forward to the next time!

This huge, traditional Bavarian beer garden is a must for every visitor to Munich, especially as it is also very popular with Munich residents! We were there for the “official start of the beer garden season” including a brass band and the finest sunshine. It was super crowded, but due to the size of the beer garden (there is a classic beer garden with self-service and service and several terraces with service...we sat on one of the latter) you can always get a seat - at least as a couple. You shouldn't be afraid of contact because the tables are almost exclusively large, as you'll mostly be sitting at a table with strangers - but that's Bavaria! The service is not only fast and friendly, but also extremely accommodating and “guesses” your wishes before you can express them. On our day and table it was (according to the invoice) El-Sayed, thank you, you made our stay in the beer garden unforgettable! The food is good to very good Bavarian quality and if you don't go for the Wiener Schnitzel and/or asparagus (asparagus time!), you can easily get there for less than €50 for two. A measure for €9 is not expensive! Recommendation for bad weather and/or winter: do not go into the tavern hall, but take the side entrance to the cellar vault, very rustic!

I had a lovely vegetarian barley risotto here for dinner. The service was quick and it felt less touristy than some of the other beer kellers in München.

Very pleasant setting because it is outdoors. I didn't taste the food but classic beers at classic prices. Too bad the beer list is limited. The service, however, is deplorable, especially with tourists. Rude waiter from start to finish. We were rushed to pay and when paying said waiter forced my hand to get a tip which he didn't do with local customers. I refused (given the quality of the service) and he openly made fun of me as if I wasn't right next to him...

Unfortunately we didn't make a reservation. The restaurant was overcrowded.

We had dinner there with about 20 colleagues and it was a terribly tiring evening, especially because of the unbearable noise in the “lager cellar”. The service was tried hard, even if not really successful, and unfortunately the food hardly exceeded the simplest wholesale quality or system catering. The prices were actually grotesquely excessive. My expectations weren't high, but they were still seriously disappointed.

The beer is very delicious. I was going via bus, but there was a brewery I had saved there before, so I went there at 10 in the morning, thinking I had to go there at all costs. Both the lager and dark beer are delicious, and for lunch, you can enjoy meat and French fries for 9.9 euros. With two beers, food, and a 10% tip, it came to 21 euros.

Personally, I like it better than Hofbrau.

We ordered a pork shoulder to share between 2 persons and 2 of their beers. As usual, German beers don’t disappoint. I love it. We tried their seasonal beer that tasted a bit on the sweeter end, not my favourite. Pork shoulder skin was crunchy, meat was tender and not dry, only thing to complain was the potato dumpling… doesn’t taste like anything and extremely starchy.

One of Munich's representative breweries. Most people visit to drink Augustiner beer. It seems like a lot of locals come too? I ordered a bunch of Haksen Bis, sausages, and 3 beers, and it was okay! There were so many people that I had to wait to take my order. It was noisy so it was hard to have a conversation, but everyone seemed excited. The price was 56 euros.

A very large place, in fact even though it was full they found us a seat almost immediately, not even 5 minutes of waiting. A place that gives the feeling of truly being in Munich, with very typical dishes and excellent quality beers. The waiters are super helpful and I noticed that they speak many languages, including Italian. I had a really good time and if I return to Munich I will definitely go there again. The beers are really good and seeing the waiters bringing more than 10 beers together is a truly fantastic sight. The food is of excellent quality and really good. Great place, just outside the center, where you can enjoy excellent Bavarian cuisine and excellent beers. The restaurant, especially in spring and summer, is very large and has the tables inside a garden. The meat is excellent. For water, two beers and meat we spent 26 euros each for 3 people.

I visited this place twice. The first time, I had the pork knuckle, schnitzel, and sausage. Everything was delicious and the beer was amazing. I came back yesterday and was disappointed. I ordered the Frankfurt sausage, which was bland, unappetizing, and just not enjoyable. That said, the vibe is great, very social, with a mix of tourists and local Germans. Overall, I would return for the atmosphere and beer, but the food can be hit or miss.

I usually don't leave negative reviews, but I felt this experience needed to be shared. First, as soon as our group entered the restaurant, we were shown to a corner seat facing the wall, even though it was relatively quiet because it was a rainy day. Besides us, there were only Asian customers gathered in that space. Second, the staff's response was very disappointing. They just looked at us without saying a word until they took our order, and the food was quickly placed without making eye contact or even saying a basic hello. I witnessed a friendly response that was different from that of the table next to me (local customers), and I felt uncomfortable about this difference. Third, when we were served food that we didn't order, we were embarrassed because they responded with a tone like, "You don't like this? You're not going to eat it?" without a polite explanation or apology. If an incorrect menu appears, I think the general attitude is to apologize and then correct it. Fourth, although business hours were announced to be until midnight, I felt as if I was being asked to leave around 10 o'clock. What was most unpleasant was that after this inconvenient situation, I was repeatedly asked to leave a tip at checkout. At first, he directly showed me the amount and asked for it, and even though I refused, he offered different amounts several times. I felt quite pressured by the repeated requests. We had a wonderful opportunity to enjoy Southern German cuisine at the restaurant located near Munich Central Station (München Hbf). Each dish we tried was authentic and very delicious, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend it for your Munich getaway. We eagerly anticipate our next visit.

We had the pork knuckle (good) , kaiserschmarrn (torn up pancake jam and custard on the side - ok, not wow), and of course, the beer. Beer was amazing! Really refreshing and flavourful. It wasn't particular busy when we went. The waiter seated us on a round table to be shared with other tourists, was late to take our orders (it was a struggle getting any of them to notice us - not attentive), but was quite pleasant when he finally attended to us.

A real Munich experience! The Augustiner-Keller is one of my favorite beer gardens in Munich. The beer tastes wonderfully fresh and is typically Augustiner - simply great! The food was also great: the pork knuckle was crispy. A special compliment goes to our waitress Ms. Cindy ✨✨✨ incredibly warm, attentive and with Bavarian charm. Despite the hustle and bustle, she always had a smile on her face and kept an overview. The place is disgusting. The waiters are rude both inside and outside. Especially outside. The most drunk visitors immediately start vomiting. They move you because of the reservation where there are no identification marks, it is impossible to order food outside. They took a lot of our time and we went to self-service.

The worst service I have seen in Germany. Not only the staff are not helpful, they're rude. We were moved three times because no one would explain the options, but would complain after we had found a seat. Saying: here only one litre beer is served, here is reerved. Here no food is served you have to go back up. They wasted 40 minutes of our time. We were tired and hungry. We decided to go to the self service part and get a snack before finding a classy beer garden. I do not recommend this place.

2025 5/3 The pig's trotters are not as good as the German pig's trotters at Costco in Taiwan, whether they are fried or authentic. This is THE Augustiner biergarten to go too, not the one on the Marionplatz. Its huge in the find your own seat area and also huge for the exterior service tables. The beer is well priced and the food was tasty. They do have a bathroom inside and down some stairs with a tip table. Enjoy your time~

Very nice and tasty place. The restaurant is very large, so everyone will find a piece of the table for themselves. We sat in a nice garden outside. The ordered duck, Schnitzel, and Klöße in mushroom sauce were delicious. The prices are rather higher, but the food will definitely compensate for it. I recommend.

Completely overcrowded, our reserved place was given to others, so we had to wait until something was free, then you can leave the reservation straight away... The couple also sat at a table of six and waited another hour for their friends 🤦🏼‍♂️ Relatively small portion for the price. But everything is homemade and very tasty!

We were here a week ago – and it was absolutely lovely! The location was well attended, but still pleasant. Particularly noteworthy is the playground: large, clean and with seating right next to it - perfect if a parent wants to “helicopter”. ;-) In my opinion, the prices are absolutely reasonable. What really stands out, however, is the service: incredibly friendly, fast and with a good dose of humor. Bavarian hospitality is truly still alive here – warm, attentive and genuine. Thank you for the great visit – we will definitely be back!

Great time tonight, meals for some of the group better than others. I can't believe how immense this place is. The waitress says it sits 6000 people. I still can't get my head round it. Well worth a visit. And don't forget the giant pretzels.

Anyone who stops here will immerse themselves in an authentic piece of the Bavarian way of life. The beer garden is idyllically located under old chestnut trees and can accommodate several thousand guests. Despite its size, the place loses none of its charm: the rustic ambience, the murmur of the guests, the clinking of the beer mugs - all of this creates a welcoming, almost familiar atmosphere in which both locals and tourists feel at home. What makes the Augustiner-Keller special is, above all, the excellent food. The selection ranges from classic Obazda and Brezn to juicy Hendl and freshly tapped Augustiner from a wooden barrel - one of the best beers Munich has to offer. The quality of the food is remarkably high for a beer garden: fresh, strongly seasoned, traditionally prepared and served in generous portions. However, you shouldn't come here expecting a classic restaurant service. The self-service area is well organized, but when it's busy - which happens almost every day in summer - there are naturally long waiting times. The operating personnel in the reserved area are often difficult to reach. However, this is not a lack of commitment, but simply due to the sheer number of guests. If you're prepared for it, you'll still find your place and your beer. The feeling of community is particularly nice: sitting at a long table with strangers, eating, drinking and laughing together - that's simply part of the Augustiner Keller experience. It is this mixture of Bavarian cosiness, culinary enjoyment and sociable togetherness that makes the beer garden so special.

We just went there for dinner, the food was OK but nothing more, without knowing that there was a big room with a Bavarian evening! Obviously you needed tickets, but in the middle of the evening, it was possible to come in and enjoy it! ROBBED AT THIS PLACE, listen to my story: It is undeniable that many locals come to this place with a very fun atmosphere. BUT here as a tourist I did not feel it deserves high rating for the service we received. There was a table of locals having a very fun party and they draw much attention of the whole place, unfortunately all waiters on the field included. For 15 minutes I have been looking for eye contact, raising my hand with no one coming to me. A 10% tip was forcefully added by the waiter though I clearly stated NO when I was checking out. He said somthing like 'I know no tips in China but here we do minimun 10%', then he just added the amount so naturally and blatantly. Sadly me and my friend totally don't mind giving service fees, which we had done many times before, but just towards outstanding services. Food was good Okay, but the service I got made me feel robbed and neglected.
