The food quality and the portions were disappointed. Too salty and the Kaiserschmarrn was dry. Very good and fast service and real Bavarian restaurant atmosphere.

One of the best places on this planet! The beer tastes incredibly good! I can highly recommend it! Everyone should see it! The Augustiner Keller is an enrichment for our beautiful city of Munich! Also very good for tourists, recommended! I'd love to come again!

Fine for drinking, not so good for eating. We had soup, a schnitzel with fries and the brewery plate with dumplings and sauerkraut. The soup was very thin, practically no ingredients and smelled very much like Maggi. The taste of the schnitzel was okay, but for over 25 euros it wasn't good in terms of price/performance. The delicacy plate for 30 euros was nothing. A small dumpling with a child's hand full of sauerkraut and 3 very dry pieces of meat. The beer was very tasty… We had a total of 80 euros, but I still gave the waitress a 5 euro tip because she couldn't help the bad food. There wasn't even a thank you. It's a shame, the next time we're in Munich we'll go somewhere else.

Typical place, with more than 800 seats, outside the historic center, where you can enjoy a beer and local cuisine. Quick and kind service. The place, as usual, is confusing and chaotic... but don't be scared, it's a prerogative of Munich beer bars!

A nice pub, the beer wasn't super, but the dishes in my opinion were really good, prices within the norm.

We were in the basement on Saturday November 2nd, 2024. Nice restaurant. nice service and good beer. But our meal was a disaster. The young pork roast from the neck ridge with potato dumplings and red cabbage was served without red cabbage. The piece of crust was just wobbly and not crispy. One had the impression that one was getting the leftovers from the lunch table. Meat, dumplings and sauce were okay. Instead of red cabbage there was coleslaw. But no information why red cabbage is missing now. The cheese spaetzle was overcooked and had almost no cheese on it. So these really weren't cheese spaetzle. Hence my guess that it was leftovers from lunch. We ordered around 2:15 p.m. I ate the young pork roast in the beer garden in the summer, it had red cabbage and it was really the best red cabbage I had ever eaten. It's a shame that things weren't good for you this time.

The typical beer was very good, the knuckle was delicious and had a crispy crust, my partner was vegetarian and although there weren't too many options, he had several dinner options. Super friendly staff. We ordered 4 wheat beers, 1 cheese with pretzel, 1 knuckle and a risotto for €65 with tip included. The place being so famous and typical, the price is quite reasonable. We will recommend it.

Nice beer garden/restaurant, delicious food

Delicious food, refreshing beer, beautiful traditional German decor, cheerful efficient service. The sauerkraut was especially good, crunchy and tart. We were there at lunchtime on a weekday. Our server was a charming woman from Croatia who we enjoyed chatting with, until it was time to pay the bill. Instead of printing a bill and putting it on the table, she led me up to the computer terminal, punched in numbers and announced the total. Then she asked how much I wanted to tip. I said we don’t believe in tipping in Germany— besides she had given a speech earlier about being paid a good living wage as a German worker. She then scolded me for not wanting to tip and gave a lecture about tipping tradition in Europe. I still refused to tip. She gave up and printed out the bill with receipt. I later realized she had charged us for a side dish which we didn’t order but which she said ‘I’ll bring you this, you’ll like it.’ There’s your tip, lady. A very pleasant dining experience marred by tipping manipulation.

Here again after years, in the next room on the left. Solid Bavarian food, half light or non-alcoholic for less than €4, can be counted on one hand in Munich. Thank you Augustiner, that's right. Classic cozy tavern atmosphere, with appropriate noise levels, you can't be too sensitive. We had reserved and it was already almost full at 6:30 p.m. Eating, drinking and wading... the latter is no problem here either.

Wow! My first time in Germany and on my first day this is where we stopped. This experience was my favorite. Their beer was the best beer I think that I’ve ever tried and the food was excellent! Atmosphere, we didn’t want to leave. After dining inside we spent another hour or so outside where they had a musical show going on.

We were sent to the vaulted cellar in a relatively unfriendly manner. Loud, uncomfortable, beer glass with lipstick, annoyed waiter, lukewarm liver dumpling soup....all in all it's bad for the money....nothing like Bavarian friendliness....

A branch directly managed by Augustiner Keller, one of the three major stores in Munich. The interior is spacious, but the outdoor space is overwhelmingly large. On days when the weather is nice, we recommend sitting outside. The beer has a clean taste, so it goes well with fatty snacks such as Schweihaksen or sausages. However, the taste of the snacks sold at the store is sour.

I used to love being there. The quality then deteriorated significantly. Beer was only 3/4 full. I'll get to the bar like that, the waiter said. In winter it drafts like pike soup. Mass processing as well. 👎 I'm used to completely different products from the butcher and baker. White sausages, schnitzel, pretzels, etc. It's definitely done for me.

Rustic restaurant with excellent beer and traditional Bavarian delicacies. You just have to be able to ignore the many tourists. I can warmly recommend Edelstoff from the barrel.

We were there with 10 people for dinner on Friday. The restaurant was actually fully reserved, but they still organized a nice place for us in the vaulted cellar. We had extremely friendly and courteous service, the food and drinks we ordered came incredibly quickly (max 10 minutes). All wishes were fulfilled immediately, the children even received a high-quality coloring book! The food was very tasty and very good across the board, and the beer is of course world class. We'll be back, thank you for your hospitality!

We ate here because of the many positive reviews and thought the food was okay, but unfortunately the price-performance ratio wasn't right here. We paid €50 per person. The mixed salad was unfortunately drowned in salad dressing (coleslaw/potato salad). Unfortunately, the fried potatoes didn't convince us. The duck was also way too dry. Nice atmosphere, friendly service.

The best beer in Munich, and the cellar is always worth a trip. On my last visit on a Saturday in October 2024, the staff was extremely friendly and the food was delicious. Everything was wonderful, gladly again.

Quiet location next to B3 Rundfunk Anstalt. Lots of space inside with a stylish Bavarian ambience. The service was nice, but was in a bit of a hurry to clear up. The taste of the dishes was good, except for the white sausages, which unfortunately mostly burst open. Price-performance okay.

We had a late breakfast in this wonderful restaurant. The staff was super accommodating and we had fresh white sausages and a delicious Augustiner Edelstoff.🤩👍😉 The beer garden is one of the most beautiful in all of Munich

What a great restaurant, what an atmosphere and conviviality, really German through and through, the food was delicious, the pepper schnitzel with spatlze was tasty for me, the portion was just too small, but that doesn't change the fact that it was very tasty and the service is simply very good oh yes and not to forget the beer, just delicious, no negatives found here

Food was very good, but service was awful and possibly racist. I would not suggest Asians people go there. The waiter was rude and racist.

The food came very quickly and was delicious. The service was attentive, but there was almost nothing going on. If it gets crowded, I have no idea. The atmosphere was quite nice, we were down in the basement and it got quite warm over time. There was no remedy.

Pretty poor food, but the worst was the attention. As soon as you arrive they run you to a table and then guess when they serve you. You go to ask for the bill and it takes more than 40 minutes for the waiter assigned to you to appear. Of course, to ask for the 10% tip, that's what he's smart about. I've eaten here several times. However, we didn't have a very good experience when we were there in the evening. The Oktoberfest beer there was almost undrinkable as it was almost non-carbonated. In addition, the staff was unfriendly towards us because of a misunderstanding that could be clarified, but didn't have to be. I won't be a guest there anymore for the time being.

If you want to experience traditional Bavaria, this is the right place. In summer the beer garden offers a Bavarian ambience, otherwise the cellar is a great place to meet up with friends. Typical dishes such as meat loaf, sausage, knuckles, duck and sauerkraut can be found on the menu, but also vegetarian dishes. Anyone interested in beer will also get their money's worth. Booking a table in advance is advisable and in October 2024 there was extensive road work which made access and parking difficult.

The waiter here took the initiative to ask us for a tip (the dish he gave us was wrong), 64.3, I had to say 66, but he was very kind and introduced me to the tipping culture, showing off to me that a European knows Chinese What do you say about the tip and ask me to give it 10%. After telling him that we were students, he relented, but still asked me to pay 77 euros before he agreed.

The food (and that's what matters) was very good. Even though it was Monday (or maybe because of it?), it was full and we waited an hour for food. The room we were sitting in was reverberating with sound and it was getting louder and louder.

A great traditional bierkeller with a good traditional menu supplement by a not so traditional vegetarian menu. The food was good, the beer was good, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming.

The waiter was very nice and the food was accessible in cost and well served, wide menu with lots of options to choose. I loved the beer that the waiter recommended, it was a sweet beer.

We spent 3 days in Munich, tried quite a few traditional restaurants. Hands down this place is better than those overrated places!

Simply the best beer garden in Munich

Grading: 1 (worst), 2 (bad), 3 (Average), 4 (good), 5 (Amazing) Waiters (die Kellner): Very polite, funny, and kind. They speak English fluently. They also help you to select a good dish as well as they gave you a comprehensive answers to your questions. (5) Starter: --Keller Kässer was delicious and fascinating. It is a traditional starter in Munich. I recommend it. (4) Main dish --Lachfilet: It was amazing. It was well-cooked juicy inside, and crispy on the upper layer. The potatoes were well-cooked, and the vegetables were hot enough. It is worthwhile to try it. (5) Dessert: -- Kaiserschmarrn: It was greasy and, at the same time, dry. It tasted horrible. I could not eat more than two spoons. (1) --Apfelstrudel: It was tasty because of apples, but they used too much cinnamon. You can even see the cinnamon almost everywhere. It was a bit less than average. (2) --Dampfnudeln: It was delicious. (4) Drink: --Zitronenlimo was fine. I had a better one in Munich. I expected a fancier design. (3)

Went there as a couple on a Sunday evening and without a reservation. Relatively long queue and annoyed staff at the entrance. We were seated at a large table with other people, which is of course completely fine without a reservation. Our waiter was a bit overwhelmed and it took quite a long time until we got a menu. After ordering, everything came pretty quickly. Unfortunately, the beers were poorly poured and the beer mugs that were carried past our table were only half full. The food was okay, you can tell it was a commercial kitchen, so it wasn't a culinary delight. The portions were also relatively small for the rather high price. All reasons for us not to necessarily go here again.

This is a place where you can feel the local atmosphere. Haksen is delicious and beer is also delicious...haha I recommend stopping by if you go to Munich.

Sat in the great hall. The food was tasty but the portions were relatively small (at a normal price, i.e. expensive) The service wasn't really friendly and really pushy, constantly trying to force things on us that we didn't want. The ambience was okay, but nothing special. All in all, I wouldn't visit the restaurant again.

Quaint restaurant, very large and therefore very loud, conversation is almost impossible. Our waiter was very quick and friendly. The food was delicious. The steamed dumpling with vanilla sauce was very tasty and very filling, it couldn't be done alone after eating, so the three of us ate it all.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Augustiner Keller in Munich and absolutely loved the experience. The restaurant is highly recommended with a large beer garden and a beer parlor that offers Bavarian and international dishes. We were lucky enough to get a table outside and were able to enjoy the beautiful atmosphere of the beer garden. The service was excellent and the staff was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the Augustiner Schmankerlplatte and the half knuckle, both of which were absolutely delicious. Overall, our visit to the Augustiner Keller was an unforgettable experience. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic Bavarian experience.

We were there before a football game and loved it!!! Great ambience, delicious beer, delicious food, absolutely moderate prices and very good service!!! Many thanks to our waitress Tobias, who was very attentive and very, very friendly!!!!! We'll be back!

Handy, only short stroll from central station, Drank in the front covered beer garden but checked out the amazing beer hall to rear and atmospheric panelled room at side.

Beer was great as any other place in Munich, but food was average. The best thing about it its its location and the looks of the place.

Cost performance is excellent. Good beer and wonderful choices of Bavarian dishes. Unfortunately, service personnel forgot a drink and it took too long time to receive the bill. But he was very friendly and helpful. I didn’t have much time as I had to catch next Flixbus. If someone looks for any typical Bavarian restaurant near bus terminal, I recommend here.

In short: Beer on tap, food great, service unbeatable, ambience is second to none. Amateurs/tourists go to the Achso you must have been at the Platzl HB, whoever is self-respecting goes to the Augustiner Keller..

Rustic, food is great with beer but not so spectacular. Fully in line with my expectations.

Really bad. First of all, the waiter, who dropped the food for other guests at our table, covered us from top to bottom with gravy. There wasn't anything more to hear than a "that can happen - sorry" thing. Quite the opposite. After the action we were no longer noticed. Then to pay we had to get up and come with us and then I suddenly had to pay 6 euros more for the warm Leberkäs, which wasn't even on the menu - even though the order was taken by the cellar and I was then bullied by it. Such behavior is not acceptable at all. That was the last time!!!! Bottom drawer

Everything you could want in a tradition German pub!

Beautiful classic Bavarian brewery, their typical cuisine is not the best for us Italians but for the atmosphere and the beer we are happy to ignore it.
