Unfortunately, it's fully booked. Reservations are required. The atmosphere looked rustic.

Service was great and the fastest. 5 minutes after ordering my Schweins Hax it was being served! Schweins Hax the pork was really crispy and juicy. The sauerkraut that I'm normally not the biggest fan was cooked to perfection. To finish the Apfelstrudel was cruncy, warm, as it shoukd be, perfect combination with the cold icecream.

We arrived on Monday to find the restaurant closed for a private event. There was no mention of it online. These things happen. So we went back on Tuesday. The "private event" sign was placed right in front of us. Excuse me? Why wasn't there any information? A simple notice in the window listing the days the restaurant was closed would have taken hardly any effort and prevented this whole mess. An online announcement, requiring only a little more work, would have been even more effective. This way of communicating really bothers me, as it wastes my time and diminishes my anticipation. Other potential guests were equally disappointed and annoyed. Please let us know.

Came here to try apfelstrudel. Have already tried some in southern Germany and in Austria. This one was ok, I would rate it 5.5/10. The pastry was a bit hard and not crispy and delicate at all. Also the chocolate sauce spoiled the classic taste. The general atmosphere and interior is cozy to sit in, typical pub.

Upon arrival, I was rudely turned away at the door at 9 p.m. with the words, "We don't have any staff in the kitchen." Better to post online that the kitchen closes at 9 p.m. A bit disappointing, especially since it was recommended.

Awesome authentic German dining experience. Very nice, quaint, traditional place. From the decorations to the vibe of the building, everything screams old school dinner spot. The wait staff was great. The prices were on par, and the food was all amazing. The bier list was what you would expect, and did not disappoint. Everything we had was phenomenal. Definitely a place to check out if you are looking for the classic dishes. We had no wait for a table of two.

Telephone reservations are not possible, and unfortunately, they are also unwilling to serve people with disabilities. A real shame for a world city like Berlin.

First of all, the meatballs were homemade. I can only say they were excellent and not like that everywhere. The service was very polite; it could have been a bit rougher for an old Berlin restaurant, but I think there were a lot of English-speaking travelers here. With my unmistakable Berlin heart, I still felt at home. A little more warmth in the food and more espresso in the espresso, or a recommendation from a grain of wheat that would be appropriate here in an old Berlin restaurant, and then it would have been a solid five stars.

While on business, I searched for a German restaurant near the Brandenburg Gate and came across this one. I liked that they didn't take reservations, the cheerful staff served us well, and most importantly, the food was delicious. The portions were generous, not salty, and the menu was varied. We each ordered a meal and a beer, and the total for five people came to about 115 euros. Even though it's a beer-oriented restaurant, the interior wasn't too noisy, so we were able to have a conversation. It was a cold day, so we ate inside. It was also fun to see the Bible verse, "Man does not live by bread alone, but also by sausage and ham," written on the wall. (Oh my, I forgot to take a picture of that funny phrase!) My colleagues all enjoyed the food, which was a huge plus. I'd definitely visit again. ^^

There was a line for a table, and quite a few people were waiting. Dirty plates were served. I asked for a straw, and the waiter brought it to me, holding it directly in his hand. The dish was ordinary, nothing special. I won't be returning, as it's not worth it. Unfortunately, there was no potato salad.

Authentic Berlin cuisine, excellent but very expensive. Compared to other restaurants, they charge €3-€8 more per meal. That's quite a lot, considering the ambiance—you sit outside, right on the street. Nevertheless, the service is really fast, friendly, and attentive. The food was fantastic. A bit more reasonable prices, and this old Berlin restaurant would be THE recommendation. If money isn't an issue, for example, when dining with clients or when the lobbyist is paying, ALLET, ALLET, NICE.

It serves typical German cuisine, with only meat dishes, but there's a wide selection. The waitresses are accustomed to serving tourists, so ordering is smooth and easy. The roast beef was tender and delicious. The loin steak was dry. The typical German main dish comes with a side dish, making it easy to choose from the menu. While not particularly delicious, the food is generally quite tasty. There are other restaurants nearby on the same street. It's located in the city center, but the prices are reasonable. The tables are large, making it easy to eat.

Had a schnitzel here. It tasted just like a schnitzel should. Not from the deep fryer, but straight from the griddle. If you're in Berlin and want a good meal, definitely recommended. The service was super friendly and the price was reasonable. (We're Dutch, you know.)

Alt-Berlin Wirtshaus – a gem in the summer heat A really nice schnitzel with fried potatoes, peas and herb butter – prepared and served in a way that only the Germans know how. We sat outside in the sun on a summer day at the end of July, just a stone's throw from Bensberger Tor. A classic wirtshaus with a genuine atmosphere and honest food – just what we were looking for. I would highly recommend a visit – and will be happy to return!

Warning!! Discriminatory treatment toward foreigners!!! I'm giving one star because you can't give zero or less than 4... Regrettable... The star goes to the unpleasant and rude waitress (and other things I can't write...) who "served" us (I'd like to describe her further so she could get a reprimand, but all I remember is that she was blonde, short, with long hair in a ponytail, and little else). We went to the restaurant and there was a line. We waited for our turn. In front of us was only a German family. She interacted with them appropriately, kindly, and explained everything very well. When we tried to talk to her, all she offered were terse answers, mocking laughter, and rather unpleasant responses, trying to ridicule us... If that's her sense of humor (she only showed it to us), it's terrible, and she should behave in front of the public. The other German family was given explanations and alternatives, while we were completely ignored. We left, obviously. At this point, discrimination shouldn't be an option, especially in a place that receives so many tourists... All of you who aren't English or German, DON'T GO!!! The treatment is horrible.
