Schnitzelkönig in Berlin

It was really awesome, cool food and huge portions. So if you're really hungry you'll get enough. I can only recommend it, especially the service was very nice and friendly!

So, it's been a long time since I've been there and had a delicious 😋 meal. Not much has changed, almost like old times. Just scents and especially the Berlin snout 😀 . And if you can't cope, you should go where the service staff have a stick up their ass and treat the guests unpleasantly 😉. Stay as you are and carry on as before 😀 😉. Simply delicious and friendly. It's nice that something like this still exists 😉 😀!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great schnitzel. Again and again.

As a Berliner, I was surprised by the cheeky but loving manner of the waiter. Very clumsy and cheeky but I really liked it. So you should bring a sense of humor. The food is really great! Large portions and it tastes incredibly good. The schnitzels are really world class.

The service was very brisk. The fried potatoes were probably pre-wrapped potatoes and the spices were simply missing. My farmer's breakfast wasn't finished. Overall not tasty. SHAME.

That was my first and also my last visit to the Schnitzelkönig. The food was only lukewarm. The cheese layer is too thick. The fries were hard. The waiter probably thought he was being funny. Sorry, but the sayings were totally wrong and sometimes insulting. The ambience wasn't nice either. The cover on my bench was already torn. All in all, I don't recommend it and it's too expensive for the quality of the food.

I wasn't there in person, but the delivery via Wolt confirmed my expectations. Very good food...in sufficient quantities...and everything tasted perfectly together. Well, the messenger had at least some travel time, but everything was still hot. And that with minus degrees outside 👍😋. Delicious..the Bolle tasted delicious here. Eating as ordered, fried potatoes with cream mushrooms, coleslaw/tomato garnish and a very inviting schnitzel... awesome 😚☺️🥰. And I was skeptical about the picture on the online menu... what a child's plate 🤔 Because the options for 400gr..600gr of meat were also available to book. No, the uncle is happy and thanks you for the “handsome rag”...a well-beaten 200mm Schwarzenegger Schnitzel made you feel good. Wide...tasty...crunchy. Knorke ..would tell Berlina what 😊🤗..and a pilsner🍺. Now a question for the owner or current operator: Did you run a restaurant on Schivelbeiner Str./Driesener Str. in the 90s and possibly 2000s? Because I had eaten more often due to work and you could get enough 😋. At some point the shop was gone. Is that also because of the same name - today my neighbor said...take a look at the Greifswalder...that must be them. It's the best Schnitzel place in the area. Was there two times. Once in the afternoon in the week and the food was good. A second time on the weekend for lunch and the food was great. It's a little bit pricey but for that the main portions are big. Would not recommend the desserts though, they are too pricey for what is offered. Will go here whenever I need a good Schnitzel.

Service and ambience are okay, the schnitzel was one of the most disgusting I've ever eaten in my life. Far too thick, baked in the cheapest fat. Meat quality below all dignity. But given the low prices, you probably can't expect more.

Nice original Berlin schnitzel stall with original Berlin Koddersnauze as waitress. This is to be understood as absolutely positive. The innkeeper makes hearty but appropriate jokes in the Berlin style and dialect. The food is the same: hearty, large selection of schnitzels and very tasty. Even the “normal” sizes are completely sufficient for a normally hungry man. - My personal drink tip: Pirates...anything, i.e. hot chocolate with brown rum!

Heavy food that is served here, both by the kitchen and the service. The food is mediocre at best, there are no crispy fried potatoes and frozen fries. The humor that is sold here as “Berlin Schnauze” is more suitable for a cheap daytime pub, just like the “innkeeper”.

The waitress was totally unfriendly, we wanted new sauce and she really annoyed us and slapped it on the table. The food wasn't that good, the fries weren't salted at all and were bathed in old fat. Schnitzel was paper thin and the noodles were almost mushy as they were soft. Ambience was nice

Insider tip when you are in Berlin. Traditional restaurant. Excellently prepared food. Above all, schnitzel of all kinds in three different sizes. Nice, personal, Berlin-style service. Beautiful and cozy in a traditional style. Fairly priced, although not cheap. This in turn is reflected in the quality of the food.

Typically Berlin, from the warm, hearty hospitality to the delicious food. You have to experience it and taste it. We will be back!

Food is OK. Nothing special, good home cooking, portions quite large. Nevertheless, one can question the price-performance ratio somewhat. Ambiance is similarly "rustic", well, it's still possible. Service is mixed. If you're lucky enough to be served by the waitress, everything was great. If it was the man, a disaster. I don't know whether the whole thing was just a tourist show (but we clearly weren't) and the cliché of the "unfriendly Berliner" was intended to be demonstrated, or whether the gentleman really works that way. In the end it doesn't matter. Anyone who treats their guests like this doesn't deserve any guests, they just deserve bankruptcy. Gnarled Berliners don't listen to the authorities, they are brittle to gnarly. Wear their heart on their sleeve. But they're not unfriendly, just open-hearted. This gentleman was just unfriendly to the point of arrogance. And looking at other reviews, that seems to be the standard. On the positive side: we were able to stay there for several hours without having to leave (of course we kept ordering more drinks, but no more food). I would go there again for the food. But I would be worried about being served by the same gentleman again.

Unsuspecting, I embarked on the adventure. Shortly before starving, I ordered the mushroom cream schnitzel. Overwhelming! A completely wonderful decision, as it turned out. Portion size, breading, side dish – by far the best thing I have ever eaten. People will be talking about the outstanding quality of the schnitzel for sale here for the next millennium. In addition, my dry throat was desperate for soothing in the form of a cold beer. I had a large glass of pilsner handed to me and was overwhelmed again. I wanted to bathe in the beer – that was my desire. If I could I would give it 500 out of 5 stars. I have now renounced God - I only believe in the Schnitzel King!

Very slow, only one person was doing everything. The food is not bad but also not great, and it's not cheap for being pork schnitzel and very far from being upscale. I don't hate it, but I also don't understand how other people can like it so much. And of course, no card accepted...only cash -.-

Very good and plentiful food. Great selection and fun drinks menu on a large wine bottle. Old Berlin “kind of” service, very personable and makes the visit an experience. Really recommended!!! On the plan again for the next visit to Berlin.

The Schnitzelkönig is one of the real highlights in the “old east” of Berlin. Rustic furnishings, hearty food and good beers make your stay a wonderful experience. Particularly worthy of mention is the “Jägerschnitzel” made from a traditional GDR recipe. Those in the know know what this is and will enjoy it as much as I do.

The host took some getting used to. You have to like the pub humor and atmosphere. The map is manageable. The schnitzel is still good, but the plates are rather carelessly arranged.

The two of us ate there and each had an XL schnitzel. The schnitzel was ok. However, everything was swimming in oil. The schnitzel was fried and the fried potatoes were swimming in yellow oil. Well, all in all, nothing special. You don't have to go there again. Unfortunately, card payment is not possible either. An absurdity actually in 2024.

I've always wanted to eat a huge schnitzel. Even though I'm currently losing weight, I dared to do it. I wasn't disappointed. It was a 600g part XXL and not dry. The fried potatoes were OK. The service was very good. Everyone very friendly. From the pre-order to the payment process. I asked for roses for my wife on the table and that worked. I will come back.....

The food wasn't cheap, but large portions and very tasty. During our stay, there were 8 of us, the lady at the counter was alone and it got crowded... Therefore 4 stars for the service, it was too much for one person. Ambience a bit old-fashioned but cozy.

Mass instead of class! The quality of the food is just bad. I ordered the Hamburger Schnitzel XL (€28.90). The schnitzel was completely gristly and consisted mainly of breadcrumbs, which is all it tasted like. The mixed vegetables were the cheapest frozen food and were still very hard, and there was also a ready-made sauce that tasted like chemicals. Fried potatoes were also frozen goods. The fried eggs were ok, but you can't go wrong with them. The male waiter is a typical Berlin snob and always has a saying, but that doesn't make up for the poor quality of the food. Toilets are also a disaster and smell like a filthy rest area toilet. The furnishings and ambience are more like a train station pub. I absolutely cannot understand the hype surrounding this place. Absolutely overpriced for this lousy quality. A restaurant also has to earn something, but charging €28.90 for the cheapest frozen food and breadcrumbs is usury! Once and never again the store will see me.

Simply great. The food was delicious 😋 and the waiter, a real Berliner, was funny, attentive and in such a good mood that you could really switch off from everyday life. We will eat there again soon. Thanks also to the kitchen.

The island of original gastronomy from the old - really cool - Prenzlauer Berg. The usual latte macchiato cups and beer bottle holders avoid this place like polar bears avoid the desert! Very pleasant! Large and tasty portions and a good dose of Berlin warmth!

We had the pleasure of visiting German cuisine from “Schnitzelkönig”, our experience was absolutely great. The atmosphere was inviting and cozy, perfect for a relaxed Monday lunch. The pleasant radio music added to the atmosphere without being too intrusive. The highlight of our visit, however, was the outstanding service. The lovely waitress was extremely attentive and friendly. We felt well looked after from start to finish. The waitress's recommendations were apt and pampered our taste buds. The food was delicious and authentic. Every bite was a pleasure, the selection of German specialties left nothing to be desired. Overall, we can recommend the restaurant without reservation. We can also imagine whether it's for a romantic meal for two or a sociable evening with friends.

Good home cooking with an emphasis on schnitzels that are very well made and taste very good. Just like schnitzels should be. The selection is extensive. The service is very friendly and you feel welcome. Berlin dialect is also present there. Highly recommended and we will be back.

The food was really good, the service was fast and the staff was friendly. The only downside was that payment was only possible in cash, which was never revealed in the restaurant until the bill was requested.
