Berliner Rouladenhaus in Berlin

The pub was completely filled with smoke. We were turned away immediately upon entering, 30 minutes before closing time, because the staff apparently preferred to smoke alone and weren't willing to serve us another beer...

Unfortunately, the roulades didn't taste like roulades at all; they were quite overcooked, and the sauce was very thin. We wanted to order dessert, but were told that others had to go first, and then us. We were very disappointed. Never again.

We had a large celebration here that was completely satisfactory. The consultation beforehand, the costs (flat rate), and the buffet were all very good. Service was good. The ambiance is a bit dated. In the end, everything was perfect. Thank you.

Very tasty and freshly prepared

THIS is a true old Berlin pub – a bygone era still lives on HERE. The interior exudes the charm of warmer times and sounds like a hug from a dear grandmother. The culinary experience, by the way, was the same: we had the beef roulade and were delighted. Tender, delicious, the sauce: excellent. You'd get worse in many Berlin-Mitte joints. What was particularly nice was that we were served even though the cook had already closed the kitchen. That's what I call true Berlin hospitality!

We discovered the Rouladenhaus by chance and were in the mood for a nice roulade. When we got inside, it was quite old-fashioned and showing its age. Where can you find that these days – real German cuisine? Gabi served us, a typical Berlin girl with a decent mouth. We really liked the woman 👍. You just have to know how to take it. The roulade was very, very tasty, super soft, not too small, not too big, well seasoned – just like home. We'll be back, and best wishes from Potsdam.

We had sandwiches and a hearty goulash soup here. Everything was delicious. Stylish old restaurant. Time seems to have stood still here.

Yes, delicious roulades and pork knuckle

The restaurant is a very, very pleasant place to dine on good old home cooking. Be it roulades, Leverkusen, meatballs or or or. The landlady and cook are a bit reserved at first. But since we were there on the following 2 EVENINGS, we were welcomed very well and, above all, warmly. A big compliment, keep it up!!! That's exactly what WE were able to appreciate about you. See you again, greetings from North Rhine-Westphalia and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. There is also a smoking room in the back area, so I would recommend it to anyone who would like to have a smoke like us!!!!

So now I'll leave something there. For example about the schnitzel with potatoes and all sorts of Leipziger. Hmm homemade schnitzel, not so much. The Leipziger all sorts had definitely passed the zenith of fresh. The potatoes were rather lukewarm and on the way to mashed potatoes. Second dish: beef roulade with dumplings and red cabbage. Thought I might get better. Wrong thought. Dumplings were clearly homemade but they weren't cooked through on the inside; you could see mashed potatoes. The roulade was almost perfect. Overall would have expected a little more for the price. Oh, one more thing. I ordered a Coca Cola, but unfortunately there was only Pepsi. A total no go for a Coca Cola drinker

A Berlin restaurant with the best German cuisine. A large selection of roulades and other Berlin specialties. The taste is great. Inexpensive food and very good service.

Staff very nice, rooms designed so that you can sit at a table with several people.

The currywurst with fries tastes as if it had been cooked the day before and just warmed up again. The fries were totally hard. The waiters are completely overwhelmed and sometimes forget what they have to do.

I came across this restaurant by accident. I've been searching for a good Rouladen since moving to Germany, to no avail. I was excited thinking that a Rouladen Restaurant would surely know how to make Rouladen. I was wrong. In a city were the chefs do not know how to cook Rouladen this was the worst. It was what I have come to expect. Tough and undercooked. Rouladen is an easy recipe. There's no excuse.Very disappointed.

Noun is omen. After passing the Berlin Rouladenhaus several times by car, we wanted to try out the establishment and paid it a Sunday afternoon visit. The shop was moderately busy, but this only underlined the charming rustic ambience and did not distract from the rustic but not rude service. We ordered two roulades (1x beef and 1x horse) as well as brawn with our drinks and we can say together: eat like mothers! The meat was tender, well seasoned and wonderful and tasty in combination with red cabbage and dumplings or potatoes. I can't and don't need to say anything more here. Maybe one more thing: Don't pay attention to the other reviews, grab your moms and make a pilgrimage to the roulade house for a good piece of meat!

Would you like a little trip back in time? Then come here. I come from the eastern part of the city, but typical old Berlin bars like this one were everywhere in the eighties. Unfortunately, you can hardly find anything like this in the city anymore. I was here in the spring for a cabbage roll that tasted like a cabbage roll should taste. Now we have ordered gannet drumsticks for Christmas Eve. These were just perfect. Not too tight, as is often the case elsewhere, but successful in every respect. And as I said, if you want to travel back in time to the eighties, I can only recommend a visit. The service is even Berliner :-), simply wonderful.

Truly a mega German cuisine with almost all German classics on the menu. Like mother's! Large portions, tasty, brilliantly seasoned. Great, fast service. A really, really good German restaurant. Sit comfortably outside on the terrace and simply enjoy everything. Thank you very much

Berlin's brashness can be charming, but when the four of you are sent away shortly after 8 p.m., even though there are still enough seats available, the fun ends. Mind you, without justification, without apology.

Another traditional inn like before. Whether it's the menu or the decor, everything is very traditional. I thought the food was excellent!

Absolutely old Berlin atmosphere. The meal was a culinary delight. Great selection. Old German cuisine at its finest. Roulades are huge. Everything else on the menu was absolutely delicious too. With the largest selection of drinks I've ever seen. And awesome, Fuschi. It's been a long time. Top shop. And the prices are unbeatable.

Very good food and good service

We wanted to quench our thirst with a nice beer. The first waitress was nice and tapped the beers for us. Then another older lady took over the counter, preferring to satisfy her tobacco addiction in peace in the smoking room. She responded several times in a very unfriendly manner and swore several times under her breath. Other guests who had further requests for their food were only served in a very unfriendly manner after repeated requests! We also wanted to eat with 3 people, but then decided to go to another restaurant. I absolutely cannot recommend the restaurant, which otherwise left a rustic impression!

The roulade house is something to get rid of, as I discovered today with my two guests. Among other things, schnitzel with boiled potatoes without sauce. My girlfriend was able to benefit from me because I ordered a portion of fries with the schnitzel (completely oversalted and full of black spots). I asked for ketchup with it. So my friend was also served ketchup for her dry potatoes. What does this have in common with good food? It was, to say the least, a waste of money. All in all, a huge fiasco. When I asked the waitress about the food at the end of our stay, she simply replied: "I'll pass it on to the kitchen." What does this teach us? Once and never again; Here one point was rated too well.

The Rouladenhaus is a good old institution in Siemensstadt with good cuisine if you know what you're eating... everything is homemade and nice Berlin style. The veal roulades for 26 (!!) euros are a joke! Mini portion! Only the stuffed cabbage is good value for money. The points deducted are based on the portions, the waitress who has been in a bad mood for a year and almost signals to the guest: "I've been working here for many hours and doesn't bother me too much!" That doesn't work!!! Drink prices 😧 1 large beer, which now costs over 10 DM, Büble even 5.60 / formerly 11, 30 DM (!!!) and local Schultiß isn't much cheaper either, is simply too expensive for a cozy Berlin pub! You can see: In the - otherwise so beautiful - beer garden, no one goes there just to drink beer, but to eat and have a beer and then you go again! What's all this with the high drink prices? You're scaring away your guests to places where it's much cheaper in the area - except in the more expensive main building. Please reduce beer prices, then we will sit longer and drink more.....therefore higher sales! And don't make portions so small! This is no longer customer service or good service! But even more so, the grumpy waitress urgently needs to change! That's not how it works, that the guests are hissed at and seen as a nuisance rather than an asset to the innkeepers! Even if she has been there for a few years.....Unfortunately the guest is no longer king here! The photo shows the mini portion of veal roulade for 24.50 (which used to be 50 marks!).

THE classic pub as we know it from before. German home cooking with prices (almost) the same as before. If you're not in the mood for burgers and chic pizza, this is the place for you. A little chat along the way is included

Unfortunately I can't rate the food. When we arrived, 2 tables on the terrace were occupied, but inside it was completely empty. We sat down at a free table, waited for 15 minutes and absolutely no one came. You should at least look outside after 10 minutes if nothing is going on...

Great German/Berlin restaurant specializing in roulades. The cabbage roll was very good. You can choose between potatoes or dumplings. I chose the two dumplings which were very tasty with the sauce. The selection of roulades is very good, as is the rest of the food selection. Drinks include Kindl-Zwickl and generally a lot on tap. You can sit comfortably inside, but also outside. The service is super friendly and attentive. We recommend.

If you want to eat delicious roulades or home-style cooking, this is the place for you. Delicious! However, there are some aspects that make the store somewhat unattractive. You either like the rustic pub feeling or you don’t. :) Unfortunately the service wasn't that good. The service was very slow and many dishes, such as stuffed cabbage, were out. When we asked about banana wheat, we were also told that we had run out of banana nectar. It's a bit of a shame... what's on the menu should be there too. We were not an isolated case. The neighboring table also had to be put off because an order was not available. The food was very tasty. There was a roulade with 2 dumplings. I would have liked another side dish such as red cabbage to round off the plate a bit.😉 The prices are very fair, especially for the drinks. Despite all the criticism, we would like to come back. 😉

I've known the shop for 35 years...and nothing has changed...which is really nice...unfortunately it's no longer a real pub...but it's like eating like a mother's.

Disappointment... Sunday 5 p.m. we wanted to eat roulades with 4 people, when we ordered the food we were told that not all of the food was available... there was still a white cabbage roulade and a beef roulade but we could have brawn with fried potatoes or schnitzel. .. then we paid for our drinks and went to a restaurant where you could order anything from the menu. We had reserved the table in advance, so it wasn't a spontaneous visit. Very unfortunate and not recommended.

One of the last real Berlin restaurants with a slight pub feel. We enjoyed the food excellently and the pricing was also appropriate based on the goods processed. We'd love to go there again. However, it is advisable to make a reservation for the weekend because bingo, darts and skat tournaments are also held there regularly.

It's a pub atmosphere, but still cozy and nice. However, the service takes some getting used to for us, we were immediately called on a first-name basis. It's OK. Unfortunately, prices were higher than before on the Internet. But the food was very good. The traffic light has corrected the prices UP. Nevertheless, recommended, but it should be communicated beforehand, internet or something, that ONLY debit cards are accepted for payment. Which we understand, since the fees in Germany are apparently too high. Still, maybe again. FOOD great.

Alt Berliner Charme mit leckerer deutscher Küche. Wir waren zu zweit. Gute Teller für den Preis. Schnitzel mit Pommes war super sowie der Schweinebraten mit Kartoffeln. Leider war das Gemüse bei beiden teils kalt und die Möhren recht knackig. Wir sind noch nicht die ältesten, aber hatten ordentlich Probleme die großzügig gestaltete Speisekarte zu lesen, ohne teils die Lupe vom Handy zu benutzen. Ansonsten immer wieder gerne

Sehr skurriler Ort. Muss man unbedingt erlebt haben. Das Essen war gut, das Ambiente und die Eindrücke...muss sich jeder selbst ein Bild machen, irgendwie aus der Zeit gefallen🙂

Futtern wie bei Muttern! Hausmannskost wie Mann sie sich wünscht. Zwar ist nicht immer das gesamte Angebot verfügbar, aber es gibt genügend Alternativen. Es hat ausgesprochen gut geschmeckt.

Ein urigen Ort ... eine Zeitreise in die Achtziger. Und wirklich leckere Rouladen zu einem anständigen Preis.

Monday night after a long day, found this little gem of a place. The staff are amazing and make you feel very welcome, even when you do not speak any German. Dinner was tasty and as with Germany the beer is always good. Fully recommend this place for proper hearty German food. Delicious and what is required after a long day. Danke!!!!!

Ich bin mit meiner Freundin hier hingefahren, weil ich gehört habe das es hier gute hausgemachte Rouladen gibt. Meine Erwartungen wurden nicht enttäuscht. Die Rouladen waren fast so gut wie bei meiner Oma. Die Gurke und der Senf waren nicht so gleichmäßig verteilt, und die Roulade war nicht ganz so zart wie bei meiner Oma, ansonsten sehr gut, auch die Beilagen. Die Portionsgröße war groß, wir konnten zwei Knödel leider nicht aufessen. Die Bedienung war sehr nett, und bemühte sich sogar sich auf Englisch mit meiner Freundin zu unterhalten. Preislich lagen wir mit einem Getränk pro Person insgesamt bei 36€, was sehr gut ist da es sehr leckere hausgemachte Kost ist. Ich kann diesen Ort wirklich empfehlen!

War vor 35 Jahren meine Stammkneipe. Leider kein Dart und Billiard mehr da, aber es riecht und sieht (fast) aus wie früher. Nostalgie pur. Bedienung super! Essen völlig ok und preiswert.

Rouladenessen kann man wirklich vergessen. Für viel Geld bekommt man nur eine ungefüllte Roulade. Kartoffeln sind nicht abgedämpft. Die Rinderroulade war wie Schusohle. Also last es, Geldsparen, es lohnt sich nicht.

Kann man ruhig mal essen gegen. Deutsche Küche und große Portionen. Ambiente etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Aber hat auch was.

Uhrige Berliner Kneipe mit schönem Biergarten, das Ambiente ist top. Personal typisch Berlin halt, passt alles. Gehe gerne hier her. Gut bürgerliche Küche, sehr lecker.

Gute Hausmannskost, nette Bedienung und mein Essen war super. Wer ohne viel schnick schnack, gut essen möchte ist hier richtig. Klar zu empfehlen.

Echt Berliner Wirtschaft gutes Essen zu sehr fairen Preisen. Der Laden ist in die Jahre gekommen. Bei den Preisen kann nicht renovierten. Freundliche Bedingungen.

Kann man machen ist aber kein muss

Ich bin oft vorbeigefahren und habe immer überlegt, ob ich es mal probieren sollte, ist ja schließlich ein "Rouladenspazialist" als BERLINER ROULADENHAUS. Also habe ich es gewagt. Als ich rein bin und mich umschaute, dachte ich mir schon: Auweia, runtergekommener Laden. Hat mit Alt-Berlin und Urgemütlich leider garnichts zu tun. Aber OK, das Essen reißt es bestimmt raus. Ich bestellte eine Rinderroulade mit Klößen und Rotkohl, was auch recht schnell serviert wurde. Der Rotkohl hatte dann die typischen dunklen Mikrowellen Stellen (hätte man doch zumindest einmal umrühren können) ebenso die Roulade, die auf der Oberseite hart und trocken war (wenn schon, dann bitte einmal wenden beim erwärmen) , sowie extrem heiß im Inneren, die Tütensoße war reichlich. Die Klöße waren frisch! Die Enttäuschung war groß, mit einer Mikrowelle in einem "Berliner Rouladenhaus" sollte für einen Kunden nichts aufgewärmt werden (ausser vielleicht Wasser). FAZIT: Nicht nochmal, scheinbar war die Roulade handgemacht und hätte bestimmt frisch zubereitet auch geschmeckt, das ist auch der Grund weshalb ich nicht nur 1 Stern gebe. Der Name BERLINER ROULADENHAUS ist leider irreführend, man denkt es wäre ein Restaurant, spezialisiert auf Rouladen, es ist aber keinesfalls ein richtiges Restaurant. Es handelt sich hier nur um eine normale Eck-Kneipe, mit warmer Küche!

Roulade war wie aus der Kantine, meine Partnerin hat eine kleine Sache bestellt aber es wurde was anderes zum doppelten Preis berechnet. Dame war leider unfreundlich und genervt. Ambiente ist authentisch Alt-Berlin.

Ich kann mich den anderen guten Bewertungen nur anschließen, echt leckere Rouladen, wie bei Mutti oder Omi. Uriges Restaurant und es gibt Guinness. Die Roulade war so lecker, da hab ich glatt vergessen ein Foto zu machen, beim nächsten mal ;-)

Es schmeckt sehr gut dort und die Bedienung ist hervorragend. Man wird höflich und zuvorkommend behandelt.
