Just three stars, since it has been on the decline for years. There's nothing to complain about when it comes to the taste of the food, but the size of the portions is now approaching ridiculous in terms of price-performance ratio. The laughter gets stuck in your throat when you have to judge the service staff. Urgent need for action!

Food was pretty good, authentic German cuisine. But I have to say the service was terrible. The service person was not at all interested in taking the order. Then when I wanted to pay, he asked where I was from and told me to learn German culture before coming there. I wanted to tip but after hearing this I didn't want to. It's not the way to treat your customers.

I am a traveler from Korea and have visited this restaurant twice by myself. On my first visit, the food was good and the hall staff served us kindly even though it was busy, so I gave them a tip. The red-haired female employee really liked it. And I made a return visit. Food was good. However, when I said hello, the red-haired female employee frowned and intentionally ignored me. (Circumstances beyond doubt) Afterwards, when I approached her to pay, she put her hand on my hip in an aggressive manner and asked, ‘What do you want?’ Let’s say, ‘I’m trying to calculate,’ 15%? 10%? He stood next to me and explicitly asked for a tip. When I was so upset that I didn't tip her, she immediately rolled her eyes and snatched the credit card machine away. I'm sure not everyone has this same experience with this redheaded restaurant owner, but if you're of Asian descent, there's a good chance you will. Because she liked the food, other guests of the kind she respects will still be able to enjoy their meals. bon appetite.

Relaxed atmosphere with relaxed service… The food was very good (we had the chanterelle cream soup and the chanterelles with Schnitzel as a side dish …. ;-)) , the service was perfect, the atmosphere was perfect, price-performance ratio was perfect… Just the sort of experience you’d expect from a typical Berlin “corner” restaurant. We enjoyed how waiters helped the sight-impaired patron on the next table to be led to the bathroom and loved Verena’s snarky interaction with us! (I think she loved us, too… 🥰). The food? It’s the VERY FIRST TIME I had “Pfifferlinge” (Chanterelles) with a Schnitzel as a SIDE dish…. PLENTY of Chanterelles.. Meat was absolutely enough, but I cannot emphasize enough the abundant serving of chanterelles😂😉 I guess the Chanterelle season is soon over, but I will keep recommending this place. I’m sure they will think of other excellent offerings. ALL the waiters were nice! Try it out!

A Berlin corner pub with a special charm. From hard to tender, there is always everything here. But what there is always is a big heart and great food. You can especially enjoy your lunch break here with great food for €7.50. Good German cuisine, what more could you want. Just go there.

As a summary I will say that it is not worth going there, unless it catches you while you are passing through. The food and price were correct, but the cockiness and rudeness of the waiter who served us was a nonsense, he almost threw us out before finishing. From what I read in the reviews, it must be the rule of the house. The most annoying thing of all was that they asked me twice if I was going to leave a tip. It made me want to answer: really? Do you see me looking like a masochist?

Very good food but unfortunately a PAINFUL ending. The waiter has been extremely rude and rude despite leaving us a good amount of euros. It's a shame they turn your food sour. I'm not coming back.

Been there for 12 years but it's getting worse and worse. Service as always, you know it. ;) But the food. The map still reads well, great potential but unfortunately the implementation wasn't successful at all. Schnitzel more breading than anything else, super thin and dry. The mushroom sauce was like water, thin and tasteless. Unfortunately not good at all anymore. Unfortunately, the price/performance ratio is no longer right (except for lunch or the daily special, which is still possible).

In the past I would have always given 5 stars but unfortunately the service and portions have decreased massively. The (unfriendly) staff consumes cannabis in front of the shop so that all the outside places smell like it… The food tastes very good but the rest doesn't fit anymore 🤷🏼‍♂️

We went to Thomas Eck for my husband's birthday during the week and it was a treat! We both had schnitzel with chanterelles, and the staff responded very well to our special requests (without bacon + additional cranberries). They were consistently friendly and open. The schnitzels were so tender and the chanterelles were perfectly seasoned. It was our first visit there but definitely not the last!

I looked for a German-only restaurant in the area and Google Maps took me to Thomas-Eck. I think it was the right choice... Typical place with seats outside, excellent and plentiful cuisine, very fast service, excellent quality/price ratio. A point of reference for future trips...

Very nice german food. I had the schnitzel with potatoes and mushroom sauce, which was plenty of tasty food and for a good price.

We came here often because of the good food. However, the last few visits have been outrageous! A waitress has probably missed her job. Word of her derogatory treatment of some guests and us (yelling at us, laughing at us, not serving the food we ordered) is spreading rapidly. After these events we will no longer visit the restaurant.

On my last visit I had the pleasure of trying schnitzel with fried potatoes. The schnitzel was fried quite lightly, but it tasted very good. The fried potatoes were crispy and flavorful, making the overall dish excellent. The prices were absolutely fair and within what you would expect for such a dish. The restaurant is in a pleasant area, which contributed to a calm atmosphere. I sat outside where it wasn't too loud and you could enjoy the nice weather. The restaurant was busy, which indicates a certain popularity. However, I have to mention that the wait for the food was very, very long. That spoiled the overall impression a bit, as we became a bit impatient. A positive point is that you could easily pay by card, which is very practical these days. Overall it was a nice experience, which was unfortunately somewhat marred by the long waiting time. The food itself was excellent and the ambience was pleasant. If the kitchen manages to reduce waiting times, I would happily give the restaurant a higher rating.

I don't know Berlin cuisine, but I can say that I was welcomed with kindness and that I tried excellent meat and vegetable dishes and a sublime dessert (I think it was a strudel) Not having the menu in Italian we had fun translating both our requests and their proposals from Google Translate and it was a pleasantly successful lunch.

We were curious about Blocki's (Tik tok) recommendation and went to Thomas-Eck. We ordered our food to take away. The staff is super friendly, the portions were sufficient and the prices were more than fair. The food was super tasty, real home cooking. All in all, the restaurant is worth a visit and I can only recommend it.

I found out about Thomas-Eck online and thought it would be perfect for a men's group. There were five of us here and we all decided on the XXL schnitzel, which is available on Friday from 6 p.m. for €15.99. It was okay, but it didn't blow us all away and the fried potatoes with it were just fine. For dessert there was Kaiserschmarren (€7.95), which I personally found quite greasy. We sat outside, but I have to admit that I found it nicer inside.

This is the right place for everyone if they want to experience a real restaurant. Good food/very moderate prices, wonderful chat with the service staff and the stove is ablaze in the kitchen. Will be back in two weeks and I'm happy!

We were in Thomaseck today, finally again after a long time, and I ordered scrambled eggs, but without onions. Food came, scrambled eggs but with onions. But then I said, it doesn't matter, I'll sort out the onions. Shortly afterwards a young man came with a new scrambled egg without onions and said it could be eaten better that way. That was just great, especially I had already started the first scrambled eggs and got a completely new egg. I was really happy about these nice people who work there. Everyone was very accommodating and uncomplicated. Always happy to have scrambled eggs with you.

Yesterday, after a long time, I took the opportunity to eat at Thomas-Eck again. It was well attended, the service staff had a lot to do, which unfortunately also affected the tone a bit. We had knuckle with a special side dish of fried potatoes and chanterelles with a regular side dish of fried potatoes. Everything desperately needed salt. Unfortunately, only the knuckle was crispy. Chanterelles and fried potatoes would have done well with some more time in the pan. The chanterelles have always been a highlight here and were the main reason for our visit. This time significantly weaker. We will definitely try it out again because of our good experiences in the past, but I'm having a bit of a hard time recommending it at the moment. June 9th, 2024: at 2:50 p.m. the three of us wanted to eat. The tables in Pestalozzistr were sunny and all empty. The ones on Krumme Str were in the shade. My request to host us in Pestalozzistr was rejected because our group was too small for that. Real case of customer threatening with order. We ate well elsewhere and will no longer bother Thomas Eck with our sales.

The service was not good today. The drinks were brought very late twice. The service overall seemed annoyed. When asked if you could get a new glass with a carafe of wine after dinner, the response was "Why - we don't have that many glasses." That used to be better overall. A pity.

Really good restaurant with high-quality home-style German cuisine. Very attentive and extremely friendly staff. The food isn't always hot, depending on how busy the place is, but overall it's always delicious. When I'm nearby, about 7-8 times a year, I like to stop by there. I can really recommend the orange ice cream in a hollowed-out orange.

Last Thursday evening: Female waiters need a course in politeness, but the male colleagues are nice and friendly. If you want to pay by card, you will be treated like a second class guest. You always have to go to the counter to pay with a card. On my last visit, however, I asked at the table for a receipt, which is rarely available in the evening. Answer: “It takes time, you have to wait.” What's that about ? Very strange....

We visited Thomas Evk for the first time today and were very pleasantly surprised at how delicious the schnitzel with fried potatoes and my schnitzel with asparagus and butter and parsley potatoes tasted. We sat outside and had a Berliner Weisse and free alcohol when the weather was nice Drank beer We really enjoyed it and we will definitely stop by again soon.

If you want to try German food, get off at Deutsche Uper station and take 3 minutes. The staff is very friendly. I had the liver dish, and the liver was delicious, but the potato salad was also the best.

The table bases are all sewing machine bases. Relics of bygone days can be found on the walls and ceilings. The service was very friendly and sometimes had a food saying on their lips. The food is okay, but it was a lot better. But given today's shortage of skilled workers, I at least give it a third star for it (fried potatoes were pretty mushy and the schnitzel was just fine). The service is terribly bad. As a guest, you can quickly become a nuisance here and always get in the way of finishing work. If you ask a friendly question, you are guaranteed to always get a stroppy and harsh answer. At least the beer was at least as cold as the service.

Clear recommendation! The Thomas-Eck is a rustic restaurant with delicious German cuisine. Price/performance absolutely fair. Schultheiss in 0.4 glass is also a big plus. Eating asparagus is not recommended. Although I very kindly ordered the asparagus soft from the waiter, it arrived on the plate hard. The waiter was inattentive and not interested in whether everything was OK with us. My husband had pork knuckle, which was fine. Unfortunately I have to give fewer stars.

We went there for dinner because it had been recommended to us to try traditional German food. The treatment was very good and they took great care of us. I am celiac and the person who served us was very attentive explaining to us the dishes that could contain gluten. Highly recommended and pleasant place.

Good home-style German cuisine. Good cold beer. Everything with love and without any “bells and whistles” as I say as a Berliner. And at affordable prices. We all had fresh asparagus with schnitzel and a freshly tapped dish. Perfect !! Thank you very much for the separate room for our sleeping baby, we felt very comfortable.

Had a cracking meal with my partner at this gem of an eatery ,we had a mix up due to the orders printer and being "forgotten" for 40mins but that was resolved with a little diplomacy and good humour I'd definitely recommend to someone looking for authentic Berlin cooking experience ......

Unfortunately a place to forget, I took a cutlet and as soon as I put my fork in I immediately realized the poor quality of the breading, and the meat of dubious quality. The waiter was very rude in asking us for our orders to the point of intimidating us. I absolutely don't recommend.

Forget it, I've never found such rudeness and discourtesy as in this place! It's just not worth it... they have disproportionate hatred towards Italians
