Friendly and attentive service and very tasty food with reasonable portions. I could have fooled myself with the sauce. It wasn't the first time here and definitely not the last time either.

A pleasant and rich place. Without a reservation we were lucky to be able to eat. We ordered the meatballs and the currywurst and everything was very delicious. It looks like a local restaurant, there were only Germans and the price was okay. Advisable.

The food and beer are great, the service is mostly satisfactory but sometimes typically Berlin (unfriendly). The ambience leaves little to be desired, positive: smoking is prohibited.

The food is plentiful and of good quality. The service we enjoyed was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is wonderfully traditional and homely. A place to feel good and forget time.

The food was delicious, the staff was really very unpleasant. It was true from the reviews that they pick on Italians and also our accent. The staff make you feel like you are a burden in there, very rude even in the way they talk to you, like we are stupid. We refused to pay the tip for this reason and the waiter followed us out of the restaurant to throw this tip thing in our face, honestly it was disturbing and I don't know what he wanted to get from us other than to vent his frustration. If my boyfriend hadn't been there I probably would have already sprayed pepper spray, a violent man following a little girl at night is scary

Don't absolutely come here if you are Italian, but also if you are just human beings. I came here with my girlfriend and the managers of the place really treated us badly. I came here and was made fun of for my English, made to feel like we were a burden and in all of this I didn't want to tip for obvious reasons and the manager followed us out of the place to hold it against us. I'm just saying that if someone punctured his tires or accidentally cut the brakes on his car, I would enjoy it quite a bit.

We had dinner at this restaurant during our holiday in Berlin. As soon as we arrived they immediately discriminated against us as Italians. We weren't crazy about the food, but the service was terrible. Lazy and rude staff. The worst thing was when we went to pay and the owner told us the exact words: "ah, you're Italian, you have to leave your food when you go to a German restaurant" and continued railing at us, "ah, you're Italian!!" I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!

MY OPPOSITE KASSELER, SAUERKRAUT, POTATOES. ALSO ALMOST 20EUR. THE MEAT QUESTIONABLE. THE SC. LOOKS LIKE CHOCOLATE SUGAR COLEUR SAUCE AND TASTELLESS. CLEARLY THE FOOD MADE FROM THE BUBBLE. BOTH WAS THE VERY LAST THING. YEARS AGO THOMAS ECK WAS TOP IN EVERYTHING, IT WAS FRESHLY COOKED. THE SUCCESSOR WRONGLY BEARS THE NAME. BAD CUISINE AND COMPLETELY OVERPRICED. THAT WAS NOTHING. FITS HERTHA BSC. SHAME.

We had a whole goose and half a duck and both were excellent. Next year again!

We discovered Thomas-Eck by chance and were very happy about it. Even though it was packed and we came without a reservation, they immediately and very kindly tried to find a place for us. Service tip-top and quick. Despite the number of guests, our food was served after a short wait and was extremely tasty. Large portions, reasonable prices and great home cooking. We'd love to come back.

“This is Berlin”… Ur Berlin pub/eatery with fantastic food just like mother makes it. If you like it home-style then you've come to the right place. All the employees are nice and you feel like you are with friends. Had the cabbage roulade and the Jägerschnitzel and I would have liked 1 liter of sauce. We'll definitely come back on our next vacation and see what else there is.

The Thomas - Eck Berlin is in Pestalozzistr. 25, located in 10627 Berlin. Here German home cooking and Berlin beer on tap are served to friendly guests in a wood-panelled restaurant with a street terrace. I drank good beers there and ate veal liver with mashed potatoes. Excellent service and food. The pork knuckle is amazing! Food portions are big with very modest prices. The pork knuckle dish would be likely 40e in Finland, here it’s only 16.90 with potato dumplings, sauerkrauts, pickled cabbage and two sauces! This is incredible. Staff are so lovely and funny! A total local gem 💎

Very rude, female service. Little plan once the store is full. Sometimes we waited 30 minutes for a waiter to order something to drink. An attempt was made to add alcohol to the bill even though you only ordered a cola. impudence. You are sat down at a table and then spoken to very harshly (either here or you can leave)...that doesn't work at all!!!! I can't say anything about the food, we didn't eat anything. I won't go here anymore!!!

A thank you to the attentive barman (glasses, tattooed) without him, eating and drinking today (September 28th, 2024) would not have been possible because the older waitresses, both around 50 years old (blond and red-haired), ignored us so much that we felt downright uncomfortable! Maybe both of them should rethink their jobs, not everyone can deal with people ✌️

There was Bavarian. Ribs and a classic schnitzel dish - ribs delicious, buttery, side dish not so rich, the mushroom sauce with the schnitzel has a sweet, vinegary taste - so not ours. Starter Obatzda - awesome😍, service although not full - it took a while until the order was taken (food). Ambiance tends to be homely. For two with 4 wheat beers - a little over €50 - which is completely ok for us.

The food was tasty, but the service was absolutely terrible. First of all we were ignored and if you tried to get the attention of the staff they would shout across the terrace that it was busy and we had to wait our turn. After half an hour we finally had the first beer and ordered the food. When we ordered food and had some questions about the menu, the staff member snapped that we should have read the menu better. In the meantime, a single woman had sat down at a table and she also wanted the attention. The staff member loudly told her that she had to wait her turn and that she had to sit somewhere else because she was sitting at a table for four people by herself. The food was served quite quickly, but what if we wanted to ask or order something? After eating the food, we asked for the bill and paid in cash the amount stated on the receipt. We didn't tip because we thought the service was really terrible. I offered to find $0.20 so we could get $5 back. The male staff member was really angry that we didn't tip and said that we didn't understand German culture and that tipping was normal. Stunned, we accepted the €5 and left. What a jerk of a guy.

So no more old Berlin is possible. Opposite is the market with all the trimmings and here you can have scrambled egg breakfast outside in the sun. Inside, the first people at lunchtime are already drinking Pilsner, but it's a corner bar.

Even though the house was packed, the service staff seemed relaxed and very friendly. The kitchen also did a great job, the food was delicious and very well portioned. Thank you for your great work, keep it up.

I had schnitzel with chanterelles, which was ok because the schnitzel lay very flat on the plate. It reminded me of a ready-made product, but then I saw the "normal" schnitzel from the menu... twice as big and freshly fried. It's a shame that such differences are made here when you use the special menu.

Great food! When you pay by card, the service suddenly stops being nice, so it's worth having cash with you to eat delicious German cuisine without problems with waitresses. When I left a 10 percent tip at the door, I heard laughter. . .

Food and drinks ok, but the service leaves much to be desired. From the beginning, the waiter was only slightly interested in accepting the order. But the dinner finale is nonsense. After checking the bill, the waiter was outraged and blamed us why we hadn't left a tip.

Just three stars, since it has been on the decline for years. There's nothing to complain about when it comes to the taste of the food, but the size of the portions is now approaching ridiculous in terms of price-performance ratio. Food was pretty good, authentic German cuisine. But I have to say the service was terrible. The service person was not at all interested in taking the order. Then when I wanted to pay, he asked where I was from and told me to learn German culture before coming there. I wanted to tip but after hearing this I didn't want to. It's not the way to treat your customers.

I am a traveler from Korea and have visited this restaurant twice by myself. On my first visit, the food was good and the hall staff served us kindly even though it was busy, so I gave them a tip. The red-haired female employee really liked it. And I made a return visit. Food was good. However, when I said hello, the red-haired female employee frowned and intentionally ignored me. (Circumstances beyond doubt) Afterwards, when I approached her to pay, she put her hand on my hip in an aggressive manner and asked, ‘What do you want?’ Let’s say, ‘I’m trying to calculate,’ 15%? 10%? He stood next to me and explicitly asked for a tip. When I was so upset that I didn't tip her, she immediately rolled her eyes and snatched the credit card machine away. I'm sure not everyone has this same experience with this redheaded restaurant owner, but if you're of Asian descent, there's a good chance you will. Because she liked the food, other guests of the kind she respects will still be able to enjoy their meals. bon appetite.

Relaxed atmosphere with relaxed service… The food was very good (we had the chanterelle cream soup and the chanterelles with Schnitzel as a side dish …. ;-)) , the service was perfect, the atmosphere was perfect, price-performance ratio was perfect… Just the sort of experience you’d expect from a typical Berlin “corner” restaurant. We enjoyed how waiters helped the sight-impaired patron on the next table to be led to the bathroom and loved Verena’s snarky interaction with us! (I think she loved us, too… 🥰). The food? It’s the VERY FIRST TIME I had “Pfifferlinge” (Chanterelles) with a Schnitzel as a SIDE dish…. PLENTY of Chanterelles.. Meat was absolutely enough, but I cannot emphasize enough the abundant serving of chanterelles😂😉 I guess the Chanterelle season is soon over, but I will keep recommending this place. I’m sure they will think of other excellent offerings. ALL the waiters were nice! Try it out!

A Berlin corner pub with a special charm. From hard to tender, there is always everything here. But what there is always is a big heart and great food. You can especially enjoy your lunch break here with great food for €7.50. Good German cuisine, what more could you want. Just go there.

As a summary I will say that it is not worth going there, unless it catches you while you are passing through. The food and price were correct, but the cockiness and rudeness of the waiter who served us was a nonsense, he almost threw us out before finishing. From what I read in the reviews, it must be the rule of the house. The most annoying thing of all was that they asked me twice if I was going to leave a tip. It made me want to answer: really? Do you see me looking like a masochist?

Very good food but unfortunately a PAINFUL ending. The waiter has been extremely rude and rude despite leaving us a good amount of euros. It's a shame they turn your food sour. I'm not coming back.

Been there for 12 years but it's getting worse and worse. Service as always, you know it. ;) But the food. The map still reads well, great potential but unfortunately the implementation wasn't successful at all. Schnitzel more breading than anything else, super thin and dry. The mushroom sauce was like water, thin and tasteless. Unfortunately not good at all anymore. Unfortunately, the price/performance ratio is no longer right (except for lunch or the daily special, which is still possible).

In the past I would have always given 5 stars but unfortunately the service and portions have decreased massively. The (unfriendly) staff consumes cannabis in front of the shop so that all the outside places smell like it… The food tastes very good but the rest doesn't fit anymore 🤷🏼‍♂️

We went to Thomas Eck for my husband's birthday during the week and it was a treat! We both had schnitzel with chanterelles, and the staff responded very well to our special requests (without bacon + additional cranberries). They were consistently friendly and open. The schnitzels were so tender and the chanterelles were perfectly seasoned. It was our first visit there but definitely not the last!

I looked for a German-only restaurant in the area and Google Maps took me to Thomas-Eck. I think it was the right choice... Typical place with seats outside, excellent and plentiful cuisine, very fast service, excellent quality/price ratio. A point of reference for future trips...

Very nice german food. I had the schnitzel with potatoes and mushroom sauce, which was plenty of tasty food and for a good price.

We came here often because of the good food. However, the last few visits have been outrageous! A waitress has probably missed her job. Word of her derogatory treatment of some guests and us (yelling at us, laughing at us, not serving the food we ordered) is spreading rapidly. After these events we will no longer visit the restaurant.
