This was my first German restaurant in Berlin and it was the most racist and disappointing experience. The waiter was brutally racist. The experience was horrible and explicitly said he didn't want to serve people from a particular country

Very nice restaurant. Classic German cuisine. The portions are very large. The prices are fair. The service was nice and quick. The map is clear. The guest room is typically designed. I'd love to come back.

As for the food, I've never had such a bad meal. Regarding the service, the waiter was annoyed by the presence of customers. Beer was beer 😅

The food: a lot of quantity, little quality. When paying, if you don't tip they get angry. The service is the worst of all. I don't recommend it to anyone

Very pleasant, typical Berlin restaurant and a mixture of a nice corner pub and a well-kept restaurant. You eat in a separate area where you are seated. There is free choice of seating at the counter (if it's not too crowded) and the Schultheis on tap tastes great. If you have an appetite for German cuisine and/or delicious drinks in Charlottenburg, we recommend it.

The food and beer are great, the service is mostly satisfactory but sometimes typically Berlin (unfriendly). The ambience leaves little to be desired, positive: smoking is prohibited.

A mixture of trendy pub, restaurant and inn. There are Berlin dishes here, such as pork knuckle with pea purée, solidly cooked at a really low price. No main course over €20; many under 17; currywurst even under 10!! The staff are original Berliners with charm and an eye for the guests! The ambience is a mixture of classic pub, stuck in the 70s, solid brewery charm and a pinch of modernity! Really easy to recommend!

Was one of my neighborhood restaurants. I'd been there at least 30 times.The food is perfectly fine. Good prices. I had Rolladen quite often. They were always just ok, a bit tough. They don't know how to cook Rolladen.The atmosphere is pub like and cozy with a large patio facing a church square. The waitresses were always horrible.

Today, January 19, 2025, we were in Thomsas-Eck with 3 people for dinner. The food was overall delicious. Salad top, dumplings top, red cabbage very tasty. I'm just wondering what was sour about the sauerbraten and it wasn't soft either. The same was with my colleague's roulade, not soft. We'd love to come back.

We were there today. The food is delicious and the portions are huge. The service was friendly and the snack was great. Price is also right. We'll be back!

Had a great dinner. The waiter was friendly and helpful! Excellent food... I recommend the meatballs with potatoes and the black pudding and liver sausages...all accompanied by sauerkraut...really good! To finish, a delicious dessert... a sort of batter cooked in butter and then "torn up"... on top of a sort of crumble and apple sauce... I really recommend it!!!

Old-established restaurant with German cuisine. Highly recommended. Prices are still affordable. Every Friday is schnitzel day with xxl schnitzel. I have never experienced a waitress or waiter not being very friendly.

We stopped in as part of a food tour after watching the YouTube video. The food here really tastes homemade and the service is very attentive and extremely warm. The prices are more than reasonable. The ambience is somewhere between a pub and a brewery.

The food isn't bad, but the service and atmosphere aren't great. Nevertheless, when you don't tip or give only a small tip, they look very displeased or say something in protest. I even tried to tip them in cash, but they got mad first so I stopped giving it. It seems to be mainly targeted at Asians and tourists, so I wouldn't recommend it unless you can afford to tip generously.

Quaint restaurant in the style of an old Berlin corner pub. Classic Berlin and good-bourgeois German cuisine. Fast and attentive service. My meal (blood sausage and liver sausage with sauerkraut and potatoes) was good, but unfortunately only lukewarm. Very busy, so advance reservations are recommended. For drivers: Parking spaces in the neighborhood are rare and are managed.

The best traditional German food!

Eat like a mother: Very tasty and appetizing food at reasonable prices, several types of beer on tap and extremely warm and attentive service (thanks to Cheryl, Verena and all the others)! Plus it's very comfortable. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

From the outside you wouldn't think that this seemingly corner bar had such good food. The ambience is rustic, typical pub, the staff has a Berlin snout which is completely okay. Our food was extremely tasty, we had the Christmas menu with goose and pork knuckle and everything that went with it. For dessert there was Kaiserschmarrn. All in all, everything was delicious and obviously homemade. Can only be recommended, a real insider tip 👍

We were there for Christmas dinner and the duck tasted excellent, unfortunately the skin wasn't completely crispy. The goose wasn't that good. The chocolate cake with vanilla sauce was delicious, but the baked apple was floury. The service was very nice and attentive. Unfortunately the chairs were a bit worn out.

When we were in this location for the first time eight weeks ago. We ordered two soups. One of them was delivered with bockwurst, a goulash soup with a hard roll and a pea soup, but without the desired bockwurst, which we pointed out to the waiter. The bockwurst was delivered immediately. So far so good our four main courses were also served afterwards. The puree was cold when we were with us! That didn't stop us from trying it a second time! The second time in this location we appeared again as a group of four. This time there was nothing wrong. So we decided at short notice to go out to eat there again with our friends on December 22nd. While the three dishes of my acquaintance were all okay, I unfortunately noticed from the first bite that something was extremely salty with my pork knuckle. I complained about my food to a waiter and pointed out to him that the food was too salty. Since I eat salty food myself, I decided to wolf down a few bites of my food! After I tried the sauerkraut and potatoes separately, it became clear that the knuckle of pork had too much salt. The waiter I spoke to first took my food towards the kitchen and a short while later. Later a second waiter came. Anger flares up towards us. Since part of the pork knuckle had already been eaten, he theorized that it was interesting that half the pork knuckle was missing and I then complained about my food. He was insinuating to me that you could also get free food that way. There was a verbal argument between us that ended with him wanting to call his boss. I would have liked to have spoken to the boss about the situation. At no point did I or my companion say that we would not pay for the meal. We only pointed out that the pork knuckle is too salty. It's a shame that no one was able to take my advice seriously and try the leftover food. Especially since the first waiter immediately asked whether the broth was salty. Which I said yes! Since I worked in the catering industry for well over 20 years, we were surprised at the reaction from the kitchen - people even made fun of it. When we asked for the bill, we paid everything and my wife smoked a cigarette with a lady in front of the door. Probably the one with the owner, who wasn't exactly happy about the overall situation. Ultimately, however, she went to the location and made sure that we only had to pay half for the pork knuckle. The manufacturer thank you for your arrangement. However, I would like to point out again that it wasn't about paying or not paying at all. We actually just thought it was a shame how the issue of a complaint was handled. It's actually a shame for us, because we wrote it on the map. To support restaurants that still offer German food as much as possible. As I originally mentioned, I come from the catering industry myself and of course I know how difficult it is to find suitable staff and I don't blame the owner for it. I just wish I could deal with these issues more objectively in the future. In any case, we will no longer be visiting the restaurant there in the near future, but we still wish maximum success

When you have a chef like that for a neighborhood pub, you can just feel lucky as a restaurateur. Can someone please tell me what his name is? Good establishments would lick their fingers if they could polish a chef like that a little more in order to get something better out of it. He could do that without any problems... I'm thrilled. Mass-produced goods implemented in a gigantic way and it could do so much more... I am convinced of that.

Friendly and attentive service and very tasty food with reasonable portions. I could have fooled myself with the sauce. It wasn't the first time here and definitely not the last time either.

A pleasant and rich place. Without a reservation we were lucky to be able to eat. We ordered the meatballs and the currywurst and everything was very delicious. It looks like a local restaurant, there were only Germans and the price was okay. Advisable.

The food was delicious, the staff was really very unpleasant. It was true from the reviews that they pick on Italians and also our accent. The staff make you feel like you are a burden in there, very rude even in the way they talk to you, like we are stupid. We refused to pay the tip for this reason and the waiter followed us out of the restaurant to throw this tip thing in our face, honestly it was disturbing and I don't know what he wanted to get from us other than to vent his frustration. If my boyfriend hadn't been there I probably would have already sprayed pepper spray, a violent man following a little girl at night is scary

Don't absolutely come here if you are Italian, but also if you are just human beings. I came here with my girlfriend and the managers of the place really treated us badly. I came here and was made fun of for my English, made to feel like we were a burden and in all of this I didn't want to tip for obvious reasons and the manager followed us out of the place to hold it against us. I'm just saying that if someone punctured his tires or accidentally cut the brakes on his car, I would enjoy it quite a bit.

This is where warmth is very important, bon appetit is meant seriously, value for money and the quality is just right!!! Just eat like you eat your mother. Very tasty and always a pleasure.

We had dinner at this restaurant during our holiday in Berlin. As soon as we arrived they immediately discriminated against us as Italians. We weren't crazy about the food, but the service was terrible. Lazy and rude staff. The worst thing was when we went to pay and the owner told us the exact words: "ah, you're Italian, you have to leave your food when you go to a German restaurant" and continued railing at us, "ah, you're Italian!!" I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!

MY OPPOSITE KASSELER, SAUERKRAUT, POTATOES. ALSO ALMOST 20EUR. THE MEAT QUESTIONABLE. THE SC. LOOKS LIKE CHOCOLATE SUGAR COLEUR SAUCE AND TASTELLESS. CLEARLY THE FOOD MADE FROM THE BUBBLE. BOTH WAS THE VERY LAST THING. YEARS AGO THOMAS ECK WAS TOP IN EVERYTHING, IT WAS FRESHLY COOKED. THE SUCCESSOR WRONGLY BEARS THE NAME. BAD CUISINE AND COMPLETELY OVERPRICED. THAT WAS NOTHING. FITS HERTHA BSC. SHAME.

We had a whole goose and half a duck and both were excellent. Next year again!

We discovered Thomas-Eck by chance and were very happy about it. Even though it was packed and we came without a reservation, they immediately and very kindly tried to find a place for us. Service tip-top and quick. Despite the number of guests, our food was served after a short wait and was extremely tasty. Large portions, reasonable prices and great home cooking. “This is Berlin”… Ur Berlin pub/eatery with fantastic food just like mother makes it. If you like it home-style then you've come to the right place. All the employees are nice and you feel like you are with friends. Had the cabbage roulade and the Jägerschnitzel and I would have liked 1 liter of sauce. We'll definitely come back on our next vacation and see what else there is.

The Thomas - Eck Berlin is in Pestalozzistr. 25, located in 10627 Berlin. Here German home cooking and Berlin beer on tap are served to friendly guests in a wood-panelled restaurant with a street terrace. I drank good beers there and ate veal liver with mashed potatoes. Excellent service and food. The pork knuckle is amazing! Food portions are big with very modest prices. The pork knuckle dish would be likely 40e in Finland, here it’s only 16.90 with potato dumplings, sauerkrauts, pickled cabbage and two sauces! This is incredible. Staff are so lovely and funny! A total local gem 💎

Very rude, female service. Little plan once the store is full. Sometimes we waited 30 minutes for a waiter to order something to drink. An attempt was made to add alcohol to the bill even though you only ordered a cola. impudence. You are sat down at a table and then spoken to very harshly (either here or you can leave)...that doesn't work at all!!!! I can't say anything about the food, we didn't eat anything. I won't go here anymore!!!

Very enjoyable German food, huge portions, and friendly staff.

A thank you to the attentive barman (glasses, tattooed) without him, eating and drinking today (September 28th, 2024) would not have been possible because the older waitresses, both around 50 years old (blond and red-haired), ignored us so much that we felt downright uncomfortable! Maybe both of them should rethink their jobs, not everyone can deal with people ✌️

The food was tasty, but the service was absolutely terrible. First of all we were ignored and if you tried to get the attention of the staff they would shout across the terrace that it was busy and we had to wait our turn. After half an hour we finally had the first beer and ordered the food. When we ordered food and had some questions about the menu, the staff member snapped that we should have read the menu better. In the meantime, a single woman had sat down at a table and she also wanted the attention. The staff member loudly told her that she had to wait her turn and that she had to sit somewhere else because she was sitting at a table for four people by herself. The food was served quite quickly, but what if we wanted to ask or order something? After eating the food, we asked for the bill and paid in cash the amount stated on the receipt. We didn't tip because we thought the service was really terrible. I offered to find $0.20 so we could get $5 back. The male staff member was really angry that we didn't tip and said that we didn't understand German culture and that tipping was normal. Stunned, we accepted the €5 and left. What a jerk of a guy.

There was Bavarian. Ribs and a classic schnitzel dish - ribs delicious, buttery, side dish not so rich, the mushroom sauce with the schnitzel has a sweet, vinegary taste - so not ours. Starter Obatzda - awesome😍, service although not full - it took a while until the order was taken (food). Ambiance tends to be homely. For two with 4 wheat beers - a little over €50 - which is completely ok for us.
