A typical restaurant with a Berlin flair (I, not from Berlin, would describe it that way). Very, very good German cuisine with large portions, a varied, plentiful, and appealing menu. Prices are completely reasonable. Very nice, friendly staff. I thought it was great.

I saw Thomas's video of how the chef prepares his food 👌👍🍀🍀🍀 They're fantastic, just like my mother's or wife's 👍🍀🍀🍀👌 Very clean. When I'm back in Berlin, I'll definitely go there with my wife because she's also a great cook, Asian style, of course. But she can also do what Thomas does in his kitchen. I really like what Erh shows there, and it's also made with a lot of love. You can see that Erh can cook!!!!! Simply fantastic 👍👍💙💙💙👌👌🍀🍀🍀

Very good atmosphere and good value for money, friendly service

Here you'll find good, honest German cuisine at fair, market-standard prices. The service is first-class, the selection is fantastic, and the daily specials are highly recommended. Inside, you're sometimes sitting very close together and can sometimes hear all the conversations around you, but that also adds to the atmosphere!

Jule, you rarely see a nice restaurant these days. I'm from Halberstadt but I can't get away from it. I still have my salsify and the chard. I'm self-sufficient. I've now taken out my potatoes, the red potatoes, so I don't need to buy any vegetables. Now the kale is slowly coming to eat. It just needs the first frost. Unfortunately, I can't give more stars. Regarding the first point, the price-performance ratio is unbeatable. The food is (actually) enough for two people, so it's very plentiful and damn delicious. And it's prepared very quickly, even though it's always full when I, or rather we, are here... So, on to point number 2. The service is excellent, always friendly... Sooooooo AWESOME (stay the way you are). And the ATMOSPHERE is cozy and cozy, and if there isn't a free spot, people move a bit closer together and there's space. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and the delicious food...

The food was good at this long-established Berlin restaurant. The service had that Berlin charm, making it warm and welcoming. Highly recommended.

Recently, I went to eat at Thomaseck with my wife and daughter for the first time in a long time. It was supposed to be a nice evening, and it would have been if our "server" hadn't been so rude. (Mid-50s with red hair) It started with her chewing gum with her mouth open while taking our order and speaking like a naughty 14-year-old. I've never experienced anything like that before. And then, in response to my criticism, she told me that I don't have to come back if I don't like the service, that was too much of a stretch. I definitely won't be a guest again. If the owner can afford such staff, then I feel sorry for him. This woman would be better off working for the BSR (German Federal Security Service) or on a construction site, but not in a bar or a restaurant. Otherwise, everything was fine. Too bad, and all the best.

I picked up the daily special there for the first time today. Wow, I have to say the food is better than my grandma's, but *shhh* the staff is super friendly, and the price is unbeatable for the daily special. Highly recommended, and we'll be back often.

I was there with my uncle and aunt. The food was excellent. I had the schnitzel with mushroom sauce, my uncle the fried white sausages with pretzels, and my aunt the roasted smoked pork with potatoes. To top it all off, there were two glasses of homemade lemonade (which is an absolute dream for the palate) and the home-brewed beer, which my uncle highly recommends. For dessert, I had a yeast dumpling, which was absolutely delicious. The service from Sebastian, Pierre, and Sandra was breathtakingly good. We were shown to our seats and served immediately. They frequently asked about our well-being. The atmosphere is uniquely beautiful and very much in keeping with the traditional design of German culture and cuisine. 10/10 rating and absolutely worth a visit.

I can recommend it, but not everything tastes as expected. You have to try it for yourself. The sauce is as thick as pudding. Huge cabbage roll, but unfortunately very little meat.

One of the not so many old Berlin style restaurants still hanging in there against all odds. And I love coming here. This is one of the places I would love to be a regular, there is just not enough time. Great service, very good German food, cold beer, and some of dishes are just amazing. The Kohlroulade that I had last time was one of the best I ever had. One recommendation - if only possible try to get a table outside. It is so much more fun than inside

We were at Thomas-Eck again today and were once again impressed by the food – herring and vegetarian tarte flambée. Excellent value for money. Our next visit is definitely on the cards. We can't understand some of the negative reviews.

We went inside. Tables were available, but we were told to sit at the tables outside. After waiting 15 minutes at a dirty table for a waiter, we gave up. We were no longer curious about what would happen next.

It was my second time eating there. Great service from Marcel, friendly, welcoming, and fast. The food was simply unbeatably delicious, just like it was at home. It was served quickly even though it was busy. We were also informed right away that it might take a few minutes due to the high number of orders. The food arrived at the same time for the three of us 👍, and the portions were a nice size.

It's simply a part of the Karl-August neighborhood. Delicious food, large portions, and good value for money. Lovely terrace, and even inside, you can feel that this pub/restaurant has been around for a long time with a great atmosphere. Everything I've tried from the menu so far has been delicious. We've been here many times, and the service was always good and the food was always delicious. Unfortunately, on August 3rd, things were different. The service was in a bad mood, and we had to wait quite a while. The food wasn't as usual this time either. The chanterelle soup was greasy, and the chanterelles with potatoes weren't great either. It was the same at the other restaurants. We hope we just caught a bad day.

We were ignored without a word, tried to make contact with one of the waiters for several minutes, made eye contact at the entrance, and tried to approach the waiters to get a table. After a while, we got fed up with that too and left. It's a shame, we used to like the place. We were there this Sunday evening.

It's unbelievable that there are people complaining about a tiny price increase. They probably haven't paid for electricity or shopped for a long time. Then they throw away a 20-year-old loyal customer and immediately stop coming back. By the way, I haven't eaten a schnitzel, but I've rated it. I'm always amazed at the kind of comments people write about the place. Well, anyone who has no idea and wants to satisfy their anonymous need to communicate probably acts like this these days. My experience is that everyone is squeezing over themselves to satisfy their customers. Yes, there are outliers. So what!!! So many German restaurants are closing. Anyway, the food is good, and if it isn't, it's immediately replaced. I feel so sorry for you, dear Thomas Eck team. Don't let it get you down. You are and will remain a real crappy place.

We are (were) regular customers for over 20 years. Unfortunately, it has to be said that the price-performance ratio is getting worse and worse. The schnitzels are still good. I ordered a tuna salad. I've eaten it often in recent years. This time it was very small, with little salad, not like it used to be. The price, of course, was much higher. That would be OK if the quality were right. They included a 1/4 roll. Since that simply wasn't enough, I ordered another one. They charged 60 cents for it. It's not good and expensive, but that's just not acceptable. My wife had currywurst with fries. When ordering, she was asked whether she wanted ketchup or mayo. The ketchup was also added to the bill at 50 cents. Less quality for a higher price, that's just not acceptable. We won't be back. Too bad, we loved it there. But at some point the owner might realize that he can't live off tourists alone.

I don't understand how this place is rated as it is. As a non German native, every time I go I'm treated with open hostility and annoyance that I don't know their full menu offerings. If you ask a question, if you don't understand their dialect, if you make an order, they are openly hostile or ignore you. I get that Berliner Schnauze is some point of cultural pride but my experience was more leaning towards xenophobia

I came to this German cuisine restaurant because I had seen a video on YouTube on the Moodi Foodi Berlin channel. I was not disappointed for my first real meal in Berlin. Although I don't speak a word of German, I was very well received, the server communicated with me in English and made recommendations on the choice of dish and beers. I had the room to myself since it was a heatwave. The interior of the restaurant is superbly decorated. I ate very well and the beer was good. I was served quite quickly. I highly recommend this type of restaurant if you are passing through Berlin.

A great restaurant for good, hearty food. Whether it's blood sausage and liver sausage, aspic with fried potatoes, or a variety of schnitzels, all dishes are freshly prepared and delicious. Delicious draft beers are also served – Pilsner Urquell or Jever are preferable to Schultheiss (they even serve Kölsch). The prompt and friendly service, which leaves nothing to be desired, is also a pleasure, and thanks to the very reasonable prices, you can return here often if you're in the mood for hearty food and a down-to-earth dining experience.

Look at the delicious food. We ordered the pork knuckle and the black pudding and liver sausage. The pork knuckle was perfectly prepared and deliciously seasoned. The sauerkraut was also delicious. I haven't had such delicious black pudding and liver sausage in a long time. The service is also commendable. The prices are more than affordable. A great old Berlin restaurant. My wife had schnitzel with Belitzer asparagus, and I had the sausages. Both meals were top-notch. The mustard on the sausages was for the potatoes! Kudos to the butcher who made the sausages. The mustard would have ruined the flavor of the sausages! I'd love to come back next time I'm in Berlin.

Yesterday's (evening) experience was the opposite of the first (lunch). Long wait for one of the three waiters to take our order (despite four empty tables around us). Greasy fried potatoes that smelled of fish. Salad with brown ends. Schnitzel was okay. Tarte flambée was burnt. Beer was good. Our first visit was far better. We've had good food here once, and not so good once.

We went there because of Blocki's recommendation. I'm not really into restaurants, as I equate them with a pub, but that's not the case here at Thomas Eck. We ordered pork knuckle, and it was incredibly delicious. And the pork knuckle was still good to eat the next day, since we couldn't manage to get it ready, so we took it with us.

Unfortunately, we had a bad experience here. As soon as we walked in looking for a table, three different waiters were unfriendly and treated us poorly. We felt so uncomfortable that we decided to leave without even sitting down. I wouldn’t recommend this place based on the service we received.

We were advised to try this place for German knuckle, they highly praised it. I will not go there again! The service is terrible, no one wanted to serve us, we had to go and order ourselves. The waiter came to other tables, but they avoided us (probably because we speak German very poorly). There were 4 of us, we ordered two dishes. When the dish was brought, no one asked how many people would eat, they served the dish on two plates and one more plate under them. The coffee was brought quickly, but they did not even offer sugar. We ordered a glass of beer, so we had to beg for it, they ignored the order. In general, we did not get any pleasure from the authentic German dish, it was cooked well, not raw, that's all I can say. And yes, why did I mention the plates, this service was included in the bill - 2.5 per plate. I do not recommend this place at all.

Great, friendly, and relaxed service. It's advisable to reserve a table for lunch. We were there on a whim and managed to snag a table at the counter. I had the bratwurst with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut from the weekly menu for €7.90. The meal came without sauce, which shocked me, as an absolute sauce freak, and I felt a brief moment of sadness. But this mashed potatoes reminded me so much of my childhood, and with the delicious bratwurst and smoky sauerkraut, a sauce would have been so unnecessary. I haven't been so enthusiastic about a meal in a long time. For dessert, we had Kaiserschmarrn with apple sauce and powdered sugar. By the way, they offer it with and without raisins. 😉 Personally, I found the Kaiserschmarrn too sweet, and I'll order it without powdered sugar next time. I'm already looking forward to going back soon, this time with a table reservation and the kids.
