Fantastischer Service und leckeres Essen! Auch das Parken war super einfach. Das Gebäude hat die Form eines riesigen Weinfasses – einfach genial! Die Außenterrasse bietet viel Schatten und lädt zum Verweilen ein. Dieses Restaurant solltet ihr euch nicht entgehen lassen!

Meine Mutter und ich waren heute nach längerer Zeit wieder im Fass essen und haben uns sehr auf den „Schiefen Sack“ gefreut. Leider wurden wir enttäuscht. Weder die Bratwurst noch der Leberknödel, auch nicht das Sauerkraut oder der Kartoffelbrei haben geschmeckt. Das entspricht für uns keiner pfälzischen Qualität und ist schade für ein Touristenlokal. Erst recht für das weltweit bekannte Riesenfass. Die Bedienung war zwar sehr nett, aber wegen dem Essen werden wir nicht noch einmal kommen. Wirklich schade!

Tackernadel im Essen!!!!! Mein Bruder hatte heute eine Tackernadel im Salat. Das Essen wurde zwar ersetzt, aber der Umgang mit dem Vorfall war für uns noch schlimmer als der eigentliche Fehler. Keine ernst gemeinte Entschuldigung, keine Einsicht und ein Verhalten, das wir als respektlos empfunden haben. Für uns steht fest: Wir kommen nicht wieder.

Absolut bodenlos, wir hatten eine große Tackernadel im Salat. Wir hatten danach garkeinen Appetit mehr. Das Schlimme ist aber, dass der Kellner das ziemlich lustig fand und gesagt hat das ist nicht sein Problem. Wir mussten den vollen Preis zahlen. Kein Entgegenkommen, keine Entschuldigung.

Fass Bad Dürkheim – Hygienemangel und unverschämter Umgang mit Gästen Heute war mein Sohn mit einem Freund und dessen Schwester im Fass in Bad Dürkheim essen. Der Freund hatte die beiden sogar von seinem Taschengeld eingeladen. Leider wurde der Restaurantbesuch zu einer großen Enttäuschung. Im Salat befand sich eine Tackernadel bzw. Metallklammer. Nach diesem Fund war den drei jungen Leuten der Appetit verständlicherweise vergangen, sodass sie das Essen nicht mehr essen wollten. Noch schlimmer als der Hygienemangel war jedoch die Reaktion des Chefs. Anstatt sich aufrichtig zu entschuldigen und eine angemessene Lösung anzubieten, bestand er darauf, dass das Essen bezahlt werden müsse, da ja "nichts passiert" sei. Außerdem meinte er sinngemäß, man solle doch selbst ein Restaurant eröffnen, dann würde man sehen, wie schwierig das sei. Ein Fremdkörper aus Metall hat in einem Salat nichts zu suchen. Hier geht es um die Gesundheit der Gäste. Fehler können passieren – entscheidend ist aber, wie ein Restaurant damit umgeht. Eine freundliche Entschuldigung und ein kundenorientiertes Verhalten wären das Mindeste gewesen. Leider war dieser Besuch sowohl aus hygienischer Sicht als auch wegen des respektlosen Umgangs mit den Gästen sehr enttäuschend. Aus unserer Sicht ist das Restaurant daher nicht zu empfehlen.

Ich war heute dort essen und hätte nie gedacht, einmal eine Tackernadel im Essen zu finden. Fehler können passieren – entscheidend ist, wie man damit umgeht. Leider wurde unsere Reklamation nicht ernst genommen und der Besitzer zeigte keinerlei Einsicht. So geht man nicht mit Gästen um.

Gutes Essen, ausgezeichneter Service.

Es war wirklich klasse! Wir waren dort zum Mittagessen und hatten den Nebenraum sogar ganz für uns allein, was den Aufenthalt besonders angenehm gemacht hat. Das Essen war ausgesprochen lecker und auch unser Hund durfte mit ins Restaurant, was wir sehr geschätzt haben. Der Service war durchweg freundlich, aufmerksam und herzlich. Wenn wir wieder einmal in der Gegend sind, kommen wir sehr gerne wieder. Wirklich ein tolles Restaurant mit hervorragendem Essen!

Ich war bei meinem letzten Besuch sehr überrascht. Schneller und freundlicher Service, die Tomatensuppe, das Rumpsteak und das Mandel-Tiramesu haben ausgezeichnet geschmeckt. Preis-/Leistung passt. Gerne komme ich wieder.

Touristisches Highlight der Stadt

Sehr enttäuschend. Wir waren an einem Samstag Abend um 21.40 dort, die Bedienungen haben uns ignoriert. Nach Ansprache einer Bedienung haben wir zwar eine Karte erhalten, aber keiner fragte uns was wir möchten. Ein anderer großer Tisch bekam noch etwas zu trinken, wir wurden konsequent ignoriert. Als wir dann gingen, habe ich mich bei einer Bedienung beschwert, sie meinte nur sorry, wäre nicht ihr Bereich. So was ist KEIN SERVICE

Ambiente nur drei Punkte, wir saßen draussen und die vielen Fliegen haben schon sehr genervt. Als Hobbykoch war ich vom Tütenpüree sehr enttäuscht. Hat dann doch was von Massenabfertigung.

Wir kommen immer wieder gerne ins Bad Dürkheimer Riesenfass. Das Essen ist jedes Mal sehr lecker, die Portionen sind gut und das Personal ist stets freundlich, aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Auch auf Extrawünsche wird ohne Probleme eingegangen, sodass man sich als Gast wirklich willkommen fühlt. Die Lage ist ebenfalls toll, nach dem Essen bietet sich ein entspannter Spaziergang durch Bad Dürkheim an, perfekt für einen kleinen Verdauungsspaziergang. Klare Empfehlung, wir kommen gerne wieder!

Wir haben bei großer Hitze einen sehr schönen Abend im Freien bei sehr gutem Essen und sehr freundlichem und aufmerksamen Personal verlebt! Gerne wieder!

Schon beeindruckend, das Fass! Wir waren um die Mittagszeit dort essen. Alle Gerichte, die wir hatten waren sehr lecker und ausreichend dimensioniert. Der Saumagen war sehr gut. Innen gibt es schöne Sitznischen um auch mit einer Gruppe ein wenig abgeschirmt zu sitzen. Das Personal ist trotz des Andrangs freundlich und die Speisen kommen in angemessener Zeit. Gerne wieder, wenn wir mal wieder in der Region sein sollten.

Ein Muss bei einem Besuch in Bad Dürkheim. Gepflegte Getränke und leckeres Essen nach Wahl typische Pfälzer Küche oder gut bürgerliche Gerichte in einem gemütlichen Ambiente. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Preis- Leistung stimmt. Klare Empfehlung! Mein Lieblingsgericht: der Fassteller.

Nach 35 Jahren das erste Mal im Fass zum Essen gewesen. Muss sagen,bin schwer begeistert. Das Essen ist hervorragend. Der Service ist Top. Sehr nett und freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Ambiente ist echt schön. Wann sitzt man schonmal in einem Fass zum Essen. Fazit.....wir kommen wieder. Am Pfingstmontag waren wir wieder da. Wir waren zu zweit zum Mittagessen. Das Ambiente im Restaurant ist wirklich toll, sowohl drinnen als auch draußen. Das Essen war okay, aber nichts Besonderes. Der Kellner war heute nicht gut gelaunt, das kann aber schon mal vorkommen.

Die Kellnerinnen slawischer Herkunft behandelten uns schrecklich. Sie gehen sehr vorsichtig mit dem Wein um.

We were a group of three for dinner today. We called 10 minutes before opening to see if there was a table available for three. It worked out perfectly; the staff was friendly and the service was quick. The portions were generous. I had the "barrel platter," and the others each had a schnitzel dish. The portions were almost too big to finish. They deserve more than five stars, but unfortunately, that's not possible. The decor is cozy, and if we're ever in Bad Dürkheim again, we'll definitely go there again. Unfortunately, it's quite a drive from the Lippe district. Keep up the good work!

Great garden dining. Beautifully presented German food. This place is the epitome of well presented German food. Huge beer and wine list. Not a good place if you are on a diet. Spaetzle very heavy on the cream and cheese. Excellent. One complaint....lots of rude people have no problem sitting there for an hour after eating blowing smoke in other people's faces while they eat. Of course, it's outdoors, but still, not cool.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary there and were very satisfied. The food was delicious and the service was very friendly and attentive, but not intrusive. We will definitely come back.

Beautiful space literally made in a huge barrel! Quite a warm atmosphere dominated by large wooden tables and beautiful spaces for large groups! German cuisine with a multitude of choices and a wide variety of wines from the region and beyond.

Since my girlfriend and I only saw the giant barrel from the outside, we can't normally give stars, but the giant barrel looks enormous from the outside.

Excellent service! I've had liver dumplings many times before, and they were always very good, but this time they were awful twice. Firm, gristly, not tasty, onions not cooked properly, pale and sweet.

The food was average. I had roast beef with fried potatoes and remoulade. The remoulade tasted of absolutely nothing, but the beef strips were okay.

We were there on a Friday at lunchtime and found it very cozy. We sat in one of the comfortable booths. The food was plentiful and very good. The staff was super friendly and the value for money was excellent. We will definitely come back.

Hmm... I have mixed feelings. There are just so many great restaurants in the Palatinate. I think it's a must to have been to the Fass at least once. But it's very typical of a tourist trap... and as a local, I know many other nice restaurants. It was nice... the food was good. The service was okay. I've been there once... I've seen it before.

We've been here twice for dinner in the last three months and highly recommend it. The food was always excellent, the service was incredibly friendly, and there were options to suit every budget. It was always busy, so it's probably best to make a reservation beforehand.

We were there on a Saturday at lunchtime. We were a group, had made a reservation, and were allowed to change tables upon request. The restaurant has regular tables inside, but also tables in barrel-shaped booths, giving you your own private nook. Each restaurant offers a wine recommendation. There's a wide selection of dishes, including vegetarian options. The food arrived very quickly; the appetizers and soups were there in about three minutes. The food was fresh, hot, and the portions were generous—enough to fill you up.

A fantastic restaurant with a modern-rustic wooden style. The food is of the highest quality and prepared with great care. The staff is friendly and attentive. This definitely won't be our last visit.

Great food. Sat quickly at 4pm. Friendly staff that spoke English, we had translate ready. Kids had fish, we had schnitzel and pork medallions with salads. Food came quick and was delicious. Recommend if you are in the area.

Last night I was invited to a birthday party there: I ordered beef strips with fried potatoes. The fried potatoes were mealy, soggy, and not at all crispy. The beef strips were actually sirloin, which were unfortunately sinewy and dry. Beef strips are something else entirely. The large room made it incredibly noisy; conversation was nearly impossible. All in all, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

We were here for dinner. Service was very quick, food was good. The atmosphere was a bit noisy at times, which is probably due to the size of the restaurant.

This was the best restaurant I've seen in a long time. The food was absolutely delicious. You definitely won't leave full. The atmosphere is wonderfully rustic and cozy. The staff are incredibly friendly. I'd go back just for this restaurant.

Outside you see the rainbow, but inside it's dry. Time for lunch and then another walk!

For a restaurant with such a long history, the quality of the food should be significantly better. The price-performance ratio is by no means satisfactory. Throwing a pre-formed vegetable schnitzel (estimated at 150g) into the deep fryer has nothing to do with fine dining or high prices and is not filling. We had booked a table for a group of about 40 people and ordered our food in advance. The prices would be perfectly reasonable if the portions were correspondingly large. The service was excellent and, despite many rumbling stomachs, contributed to a great atmosphere… Staff like that are simply invaluable.

The price of the spritzer is definitely geared towards tourists, but otherwise it's very tasty. The waitresses are incredibly friendly and attentive. It's recommended to make a reservation beforehand.

We didn't even get to the food. The place was far too small, there was no alternative, and then we weren't asked to leave. As a tourist, that probably doesn't matter, but as a local...

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant! We had made a reservation for a 90th birthday party for eight people (including a toddler in a highchair). We were given a square table, approximately 1.20m x 1.20m, where we were supposed to have a leisurely lunch. It would have been impossible to even fit all the plates on the table because it was simply far too cramped. The staff's response was that they couldn't change it. However, if we wanted to leave, we were told to make a quick decision because they wanted to reassign the table. So, we all got up and left. Therefore, I cannot give a realistic review of the food. A real shame!

We've been there for what feels like the 100th time. As always, the food was very good. The service was friendly. It's always busy. The restrooms are clean. We'll gladly come again.

I ate "Schifer Sack" (a type of sausage). It was delicious. The service and ambiance are truly top-notch. This monument to wine and culinary culture is a must-see.

We ate inside the world's largest beer barrel – quite a unique experience! The service was friendly and pleasant, and the barrel platter included a bread dumpling with mushrooms. It was filling and delicious. We also visited the Roman quarry Kriemhildenstuhl, which offers a great view, the Celtic rampart Heidenmauer, and, of course, the enormous saltworks.

The restaurant inside the Dürkheim giant wine barrel offers good food and a wide selection of wines. Service is quick and friendly. A wine recommendation is provided with every dish. The whole operation is a large and efficient organization. You can sit either in the lower part of the barrel or in the adjoining, barrel-shaped structure. The large hall is not currently part of the restaurant. Reservations are recommended!

We were a group of eight people on a day trip to Bad Dürkheim and had lunch at the Riesenfass restaurant. Unfortunately, we live too far away; I would definitely eat there more often. We had one person with numerous allergies, and even they were able to get their desired meal, as everything is freshly prepared. If the fish couldn't be seasoned, they got it without, and if the green beans with bacon were to be without bacon, no problem, they were made without bacon! Everyone was so friendly and patient, even though the Riesenfass was quite full. I had a "small" schnitzel with mushroom sauce and fries, absolutely delicious, and the fries were crispy on the outside, not soggy at all. I was truly impressed and ended up annoying my companions afterward by constantly saying how delicious it was. Paying was also incredibly quick, even though everyone paid separately and in different ways, some by cash, others by card. The service was truly wonderful; you couldn't tell they were stressed at all. Thank you so much for this fantastic service!!!

Cozy atmosphere; you can sit either in the regular restaurant area or, very originally, in wine barrels at the side. The food is delicious, the service is friendly, highly recommended 👍🏻

Unfortunately, we often have a very high number of reservations, which puts a lot of strain on the staff. I recommend assigning customers a seat immediately upon arrival.

Top location in the Palatinate!

Consistently excellent food! It's worth it! Here you'll find barrel-shaped platters, boiled beef, and rump steak.

My group really enjoyed the food, and the portions were generous. A smaller portion would have been enough for me. Or you can simply take the rest with you.

I used to think the Fass was a tourist trap, but that's really not true. Lots of locals go there, the service is great, and the food arrives quickly and is cooked to perfection. Highly recommended, especially since the price/performance ratio is even better than in many other restaurants along the wine route.

Fantastic! A restaurant in a barrel, and even our table was set in a barrel-shaped alcove! Quick staff, delicious traditional dishes, and very generous portions! We tried the excellent cotoletta and Saumagen. It's a shame we didn't get to try the desserts because the kitchen closes at 9 pm. Recommended!
