Waldgaststätte Schützenhaus in Bad Dürkheim

The service is very nice and friendly, but can be slow at times when it's too busy. Some of the food is overpriced. French fries were not served really warm and did not taste good (not crispy, half cold, stale) Winemaker's steak: Very thin, not really warm hidden under very fatty onions. Unfortunately, sausage salad was tasteless. We don't plan on going to this forest restaurant anymore.

Everything was just great. Very nice staff and great food. I'll definitely come back.

Very good food "like at mother's home" and good portions at reasonable prices. We had schnitzel with asparagus and potato halves from the oven, and rump steak with onions, herb butter and fries - delicious! Super nice and attentive staff :-) There are tables both inside and outside, everything is rustic and cozy, as befits a rifle lodge in the forest, but in no way old-fashioned. You feel completely comfortable!

The 4 of us were there very spontaneously. We were promptly assigned a table and our orders were taken straight away. Food also came very quickly. The service was friendly and when it started to rain a bit, the boss put up an umbrella for us so that we didn't get wet. Highly recommended.

We happened to pass the Schützenhaus while hiking and stopped in spontaneously. We were warmly welcomed and greeted by the boss. The restaurant was completely booked and all the tables were reserved, but they still made it possible and we got a table for two people with a dog. The rest of the staff were also very friendly. The menu is amazing! It is so varied and large, there are good home-style and Palatinate dishes. The food tasted fantastic, everything is freshly prepared, the taste is simply great. We liked it so much that we ate in the Schützenhaus three times in a row during our four-day vacation. We ate twice in the sunshine in the beautifully landscaped beer garden. You just feel comfortable in the Schützenhaus and the warmth and friendliness of Anja and Teo (boss and boss) and her entire team cannot be surpassed. The Schützenhaus is highly recommended, we love it and will definitely go there again and again, we are happy to accept a 50 minute journey there.

The food is super delicious! Boss and boss very warmly! The girls in service are incredibly friendly and accommodating. Pretty much everything was full but Anja still found a spot for us! The Schützenhaus is always very busy, so it's best to reserve in advance :-) The atmosphere is also 100% right ☺️👌🏾

After a nice hike, we wanted to stop off at the forest restaurant, cold and hungry! We deliberately adapted our route to this gastronomic place because we also had a severely disabled person with us! We even checked the peak times so as not to experience a disaster! It was just 12:30! The restaurant was completely overcrowded! While searching for a free seat, a female voice thundered from the depths of the room: "Reserved?" I didn't! When I shook my head in the negative, they turned away! That's it! With my visit from Berlin I was out quicker than I was in! We were so looking forward to the schnitzel day, which is beautifully advertised! Absolutely disappointing! ———————— After 7 years I accidentally read your “answer”! You haven't learned anything! Too bad! In any case, our path always goes far past you!

The terrace outside is currently being renovated, which will definitely be really good. Large selection of food, tasty and good portions. Reservation recommended.

We were there again last Friday and we were all completely satisfied. Delicious food, friendly service and above all: super spritzer! We sat on the new terrace, unfortunately under a parasol despite the pleasant sunshine. It's only spring. But there were people in our immediate neighborhood who preferred to sit in the shade. So we had to admit defeat. But you can't please everyone, even though Theo tried hard. Anyway, I'll be back

Schlemmerschnitzel is always good, but on Sundays it is very popular, so reservations make sense.

Absolute recommendation for good home-style cuisine, top team, I was there again today, always to the utmost satisfaction, as a chef it's definitely my tip in Bad Dürkheim. Father-in-law celebrated his birthday here today in a small circle. As a surprise, there was a song from the team and delicious champagne. That was great. Very tasty rump steak, fantastic bratwurst. Good salad dressing. Really good Palatinate cuisine. And the landlady Anja sang. A very friendly staff!

Beautifully situated forest restaurant at the Schützenhaus, with Palatinate cuisine and excellent wines. Great atmosphere and a fantastic team. The food was delicious, as always. The owner and chef are always relaxed, no matter how stressful things get; they never try to turn guests away, even when it's full. Therefore, my advice: always make a reservation in advance. And the best part is, the new terrace is finished 👍

I have to admit that this is one of my first applications! But in this restaurant everything really fits, the price-performance ratio is great, the view of Bad Dürkheimer is a dream, the waitresses and the landlady and especially her husband were super friendly and down-to-earth, happy to give A+ again

We were guests at the Schützenhaus for the first time at the weekend and were more than thrilled. Warm hosts welcomed us and we spent a very nice evening with really good food, music and dancing. That wasn't the last evening in the Schützenhaus.

I can absolutely recommend the forest restaurant, but you shouldn't be bothered by the hustle and bustle or the noise in the restaurant. The food and the service were excellent.

This was my second time there and the service is still very good, effective, fast and friendly. You can tell that it is a family business with great commitment. Schnitzels aren't really my thing, but they're good there. Unfortunately, the fries were too heavily seasoned with paprika for me this time. I think salt is enough. Otherwise...everything is fine. There is always an extra plate if two people want to share a dish without making a face. A good wine list with good local winemakers. I'm excited about the newly paved terrace.

Yesterday we were there with our footballers' get-together :) Drinks and food went very quickly, even though the restaurant was completely full. A very, very big compliment to the waitresses. When Theo came to us at the end and offered schnapps and espresso on the house, we got into a nice conversation. Very familiar :). The food tasted very, very good and I can only recommend it. We would definitely come again :)

Yesterday we were four people in this "hut" for the first time and were immediately impressed! From the first contact at lunchtime we noticed that a lot of things work here differently than in other restaurants. The shop was packed, but the boss, Anja, came straight up to greet us warmly. We had requested a table for 4pm and she told us she was fully booked but offered to just come by later. She promised to reserve a spot for us – and she kept her word! When we arrived at 3:45 p.m. we were immediately recognized: "It's nice that you're here! Here's your table." Anja brought us the menus and immediately took our drink orders. It was obvious that they have enough service staff - the team really seemed to enjoy their work! The atmosphere among the guests was also great. The food was simply fantastic! The homemade schnitzels from the pan with side dishes and salad cost less than 20 euros and were of first-class quality. Suddenly music started playing and Anja sang along loudly - that put even more of a good mood in the whole restaurant! Her husband also joined us and had a nice conversation. We'll definitely be back!

At first glance there were 6 people in the restaurant, everything was full, after a short wait we were assigned a table. Theo the boss apologized, it might get loud for a moment (drilling work) and in compensation everyone was given a shot or espresso of their choice. The food (various schnitzel dishes) was delicious and plentiful We had a lovely afternoon There was no drilling until we left.

We went for a walk in the area, stopped by there unplanned and just checked to see if we could get a spot. We were welcomed very warmly and were able to join some nice people at the table. Even though it was really full, everything went really quickly and the food was really good. If we are in the area again we will definitely come back.

The Waldgasthaus Schützenhaus in is a place where you immediately feel at home. The quality of the food is excellent - from Palatinate delicacies to Mediterranean dishes, everything is served here at the highest level. The staff, including the warm-hearted boss, are extremely friendly, accommodating and literally read your every wish. A special highlight is the beautiful outdoor terrace, which offers a wonderful view of Bad Dürkheim in summer. The lovingly renovated guest rooms create a cozy atmosphere that perfectly rounds off your stay. A visit here is always a pleasure – we would love to come back!

We went to the Schützenhaus today after hiking and can only recommend it. The whole group enjoyed everything very much. I would like to highlight my delicious bratwursts. The service was very nice and attentive. Another plus point.....since we couldn't predict the time of our arrival at the restaurant within 30 minutes in order to make the reservation...that wasn't a problem. It doesn't happen often. Many thanks to the boss for the really delicious schnapps. We'd love to come back.

Highly recommended, but reservations advisable. Everything I've eaten there so far has been good. Palatinate cuisine plus! The spaghetti with shrimp is to die for. No Italian cooks better. Service is always very friendly, prices are absolutely okay.
