We visited Berlin and wanted to eat somewhere that serves German food. Happy to have found it. We ordered a snack to share and a Schnitzel that was exquisite. Without a doubt I would return!

If you want something typical I really recommend It! Food is good! I would love to see more vegetarian options ☺️

We enjoyed our stay, but the food was not as good as we would have liked. It wasn't cheap either. It is possible to eat local food, but we went there on our own, recommended by a friend, and it was not what we expected. However, it was not a bad experience

Unfortunately, our visit to the restaurant was a bit mixed. When we arrived we sat outside but unfortunately it took a good 15 minutes for anyone to serve us even though it wasn't busy. That was a bit of a disappointing start. However, when the waiter finally came, he was very friendly and took our order attentively. The food itself was really tasty and served quickly - nothing to complain about here. However, what spoiled the overall impression was the situation at the end: other guests were asked for a nightcap after paying, while we unfortunately did not receive this gesture. This was particularly annoying because our bill with a tip was a whopping 65 euros for two adults and a child. This unequal treatment spoiled what was otherwise a lovely evening for us.

Typical German food, generous portions and nice atmosphere

Food way too expensive for what it is. Farmer's breakfast - scrambled eggs with potatoes and a few vegetables for just under €20 is simply cheeky. Pork schnitzel super small and side dishes nothing special. Service is very nice and competent and you sit comfortably. Unfortunately not really recommended. Price-performance is not right.

Delicious traditional Berlin food with Eisbein, Haxe, good schnitzel and currently asparagus dishes. If you like hearty German cuisine, this is highly recommended. The decor is cozy, like a brown café. It is advisable to make a reservation for dinner as it is very busy.

Remember to try Berlin's unique "boiled pig's feet" Berlin is a place where diverse cultures gather, and so does its dining options. In addition, its nightlife is also very famous. Therefore, if you search for restaurants according to the map, sometimes you will end up in a situation where eating and traveling influence each other, so my restaurant choice is traveling. Mainly, I search for nearby restaurants when I arrive at my destination. After all, Berlin is so big that there are many good restaurants, and this is the German restaurant I searched for when I went to Hackescher Markt; in fact, there are many restaurants in Hackescher Markt. However, if you are looking for a German family restaurant that has an atmosphere and is quiet, I think this one is very good. A little away from the noisy market, you can first go to the Hacker Courtyard to admire the mosaic buildings in the courtyard. Moreover, you can eat authentic Berlin boiled pig's feet here. We loved the restaurant. The super friendly waiter. It took them a while to serve us because there was only him, but there was no problem and no rush on our part. The knuckle is very delicious and so are the meatballs. I have tried the snitzchel better in other places, here the batter is very thick but the asparagus is wonderful. The strudel is good but not outstanding and expensive. For the rest, I would repeat without hesitation and I recommend it 100%

Delicious German food! I got the bratwurst with potatoes and sauerkraut, and my husband got the roast beef Rosa. Both were fantastic! We left clean plates.

Classic German food at a cute corner spot in the heart of the city. This place is always packed so come early or make a reservation.

We were going to eat knuckle on recommendation but there was none. It took them half an hour to greet us and more than 50 minutes to give us our drinks. Very bad service. A shame.

Typical and very welcoming place. We were a group of 10 friends and we had Schnitzel, pork knuckle and Strudel (excellent) shared between couples with plenty of beer (even those who don't drink it enjoyed it). Friendly and very polite staff. Highly recommended.

Underrated classic Berliner Kneipe.

The food was very tasty... sauerkraut casserole with smoked pork and gratinated with cheese. The atmosphere is rustic. Unfortunately the service wasn't that friendly. Didn't really look at us and when we wanted a "German" menu and also asked if we could light the candle on the table, we probably totally missed it. I think a restaurant is 50% customer friendly because we also pay for an “experience” and not just the food. So.. food delicious, but we won't be back. We prefer to try other “German” restaurants.

Fantastically good home-cooked food. We ate fresh asparagus (so good), nice new potatoes and excellent schnitzel. To this a good Reisling wine! Pleasant in a genuine environment with service-minded staff. If you are in this district, settle down here for a nice food/drink break. Recommended!

Disappointed! The staff was so slow to take our orders. We had to sit there for 10 minutes to waiting for a menu. After that, another 15 minutes to waited for order. Finally the food came. The plate was warm but the beef was cold?

We went on the recommendation of a tourist guide and we really liked it. If you want to try typical German food, this is your place. The atmosphere is relaxed and the service is very good. We tried the meatballs with mushroom cream and potatoes and the schnitzel with potatoes, very very good flavor and abundant dishes. For dessert we ordered the famous apple strudel and it came with ice cream, very tasty (I wasn't crazy about it but it was a personal preference). Adequate price, with beer and water about €55. I recommend it on your visit to Berlin.

We would like to thank you for an evening in which a seat was found for us even though we were in the door more than an hour before the reservation time, in which we were served nicely and quickly and in which the waiter voluntarily gave us spare beer mats to play with brought to our grandson after the previously used lids had been put to their intended use. If you want to try typical food, it is a must-try restaurant! Everything was delicious! We ordered the homemade Berliner meatballs (hausgemachte Berliner Bouletten) and the knuckle with sauerkraut and potatoes (Geschmorte Haxe mit Sauerkraut und Kräuterdrillinge). The waitress who served us was very friendly, and the atmosphere was very calm. If we go back to Berlin, I think we will stop by there again.

Good afternoon, I am part of yesterday's group. We were 4 adults and a baby. I was the one who spoke to the waiter. From the beginning and almost without letting me speak, he invited us to leave, excusing himself that he was alone and that he would not be able to attend to us. Still looking around and seeing that yes, I'm sorry, but there were only 5 tables with customers, the restaurant was not full at all. We understood this and suggested that we stay and have a beer until he could serve us, without rushing. He asked me again to please leave, he did give us the option of returning after 40 minutes....but who is going to return to a place where in bad manners, it was not pleasant at all, they don't even want to serve you a beer ... That's if he allowed us to go to the bathroom... I'm sure he wouldn't have treated a Berliner the same... I'm sorry but that's how it was.

Typical German restaurant, also in style and ambiance. It's not very big so I recommend booking. We went on the recommendation of the tour guide and it was a great success. Upon entering the place was almost empty, but we decided to give it a try. We chose two typical dishes and the food was delicious, the waiter was very friendly and we were very comfortable. Definitely 100% recommended to try real Berlin food.

Only stopped for a beer, unfortunately we would have loved to try something. The environment is very characteristic and the prices are average. There will be other opportunities to return.

This was a really cool restaurant that had a very cozy feel inside! They have amazing German food that you may not have had before! The staff is incredibly nice and they’re willing to help you if you’re slightly confused by the menu! The only downside was that it was confusing with seating. There’s no host stand so you aren’t quite sure who to talk to to get a table. Even with that I still recommend this cafe to anyone going to Berlin!

Cozy, warm, festive, and delicious. The schnitzel with peas, a fried egg, and potatoes (plus a bit of gravy hidden under the pork) was absolutely fantastic, and the perfect way to wrap up a bone-chilling day in Berlin. Note that the portion size is massive—you won’t be able to finish a plate by yourself. The service was kind, and the decor/ambiance of the restaurant was lovely. Can’t recommend enough for a classic German meal.

Ich probiere es auf Deustch schreiben. Ich war im Sophieneck abend essen. Ich habe Haxe bestellt und war die beste was ich in mein Leben gegese. Atmosphere war würklich super und Service war extreme freundlich. Darja, Kasbek und Marin danke für top Service. Ich komme gerne wieder.
