A Bavarian beer garden in Berlin, right by the Spree River and the Federal Chancellery. The ambiance is pleasant, but it gets very crowded in good weather. There's no proper service, as you have to get your food yourself—like in a cafeteria. But that's somewhat common in beer gardens. Portions were decent, depending on the type. Overall, there's room for improvement, but it's quite nice for an evening.

Probably the best option to have a beer around Hauptbahnhof. Beer is a Gaumenschmaus, the location is great too, it has a special feeling getting hammered right next to the government district. The food is mediocre, but is relatively affordable for a beer garden.

One of the most beautiful beer gardens in Berlin. The setting beneath the chestnut tree is stunningly beautiful. The young staff tries very hard, but often fails due to their own inexperience. The food and drinks in the self-service area are consistently good; the Augustiner is world-class.

Quite loud inside. Food quite expensive for what you get, but it is tasty. To get to the toilet you have to walk quite a long way and down lots of stairs.

I was looking for genuine German food around my hotel & was pointed to this place by the tourist office at the main train station. It was right be the River Spree & consist of not just a restaurant but also a large biergarten, I was not expecting much but the din from the place before I reached it told me that I would not be disappointed. It was rather crowded but the friendly staff was able to offered me a seat high table. I ordered a beer, a vegetable soup & the pork knuckle. The beer came quickly, the soup a little while later & not outstanding. The pork knuckle came after quite a while (they already pre-warned me) & it was served with some kind of mashed potato & sauerkraut & they worked wonderfully together. Benjamin, the owner, roamed around entertaining the guest & spoke to me as well telling me that they also have a basement area which they would used as restaurant space in the winter.

Huge venue with a beer garden on the Spree River, overlooking the Federal Chancellery. Regular fare, Augustiner beer on tap, and truly friendly and attentive staff. Perfect for corporate parties and similar events.

We were here yesterday and were very disappointed. While the atmosphere was nice, the food in the beer garden is absolutely not recommended. We were very disappointed. Had we known, we would have saved ourselves the trip and eaten at a fast food restaurant near the main train station.

Should be on every plan when visiting Berlin

Hi, unfortunately, I can't say much good about it. The outdoor dining area was closed due to a threatening thunderstorm. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to bring our drinks inside, and we wouldn't have been allowed to reserve a table without eating any food anyway. The staff downstairs in the outdoor dining area were very friendly and apologized for the quick closing. The staff in the restaurant were quite the opposite. Sorry, I'll think about going there again when I return from Austria.

Zollpackhof is like a local for people who want to sit next to a minister for a schnitzel. Right by the main train station, but with no tourist chic at all – it's an insider tip with a view of the Spree and politics. The location? It doesn't get any better than this – close to the train station, the Chancellery around the corner, and yet relaxed like a Sunday afternoon. Schnitzel? Worth the money! Large, crispy, filling and happy. If they serve lunch, you can't go wrong – even the lobbyist from next door will be there. Berlin beer garden feeling with a Berlin accent. If you don't go, it's your own fault.

With its spacious beer garden under the shade of old trees, it’s the perfect spot to relax on a hot day. The restaurant has a cozy terrace and a cellar, making it a great year-round destination. The business lunch menu is totally worth it.

We were here for dinner to celebrate a milestone birthday. Unfortunately, it rained, but I can only praise the food and service. We'll be back when the weather's better.

The atmosphere is typically Bavarian. Here you can eat very well-made, authentic Wiener Schnitzel, truly worthy of the name. The breading is super fluffy. Simply delicious.

If you're looking for delicious Bavarian food in Berlin, you should visit the restaurant at the Zollpackhof. There's also a traditional beer garden outside. Here, you can sit comfortably in the shade of a chestnut tree and enjoy a good meal. Service on the terrace and in the restaurant is prompt and friendly.

Personally, I wouldn't necessarily go there again. It was MEGA loud, the service was completely overwhelmed (except for the trainees), and taking orders and serving drinks and food took forever! The food didn't live up to the advertised prices: some of the food wasn't enough: the beef steak was tiny and tough (€29.90), the cheese spaetzle and the dumpling variety were cold - and they sent it back to the kitchen. Absolutely unacceptable. You might be able to sit outside in the garden for a beer or wine, but definitely not inside.

It was a really good restaurant. I was very satisfied to be able to drink the large beers that are so typical of Germany. 😋 The waiters were also very kind and it was a great restaurant!

The Jam & Jazz Brunch, every third Sunday of the month, was very nice. Considering that surprisingly only 6 or 7 tables were reserved on Easter Sunday, the buffet selection was really good. We had nothing to complain about in terms of taste. Even as a vegetarian, I was satisfied with the delicious bites, except for the small sweet pastry, which I found a bit dry. We would like to emphasize the truly attentive and friendly staff; they were always very approachable, friendly, and absolutely helpful. We personally really enjoyed the jazz band; it was neither too loud nor too intrusive. A truly great accompaniment on this wonderful sunny day. By the way, having breakfast on the sun terrace right on the Spree River with a view of the government district is even more enjoyable. We felt very comfortable and will definitely be back. A small request for the Zollpackhof: lactose-free or vegan milk, so that people with lactose intolerance can also enjoy a coffee for breakfast 🤗 PS. A special feature on Easter Sunday was the Easter Bunny, who handed out sweet bags to the kids containing Lindt and Milka chocolate, so nothing like the usual.

Great location opposite the Chancellery, large trees provide shade, they serve Augustiner beer and the food and service are good!

A very nice beer garden on the Spree River with a view of the Federal Chancellery, a 10-minute walk from the main train station. Delicious food, well-chilled Augustiner beer, and you can even get a liter of beer. No waiting, even when it's busy, because it's self-service.

Drinks are good, pizza is terrible!

We've known the beer garden for a long time and go there often because it's always been great. However, we were more than disappointed: perfect weather (32°C at 7:30 p.m.) and not crowded. You think everything is great. Now you go to order food and drinks and get a shock: 1. The knuckle of pork you were so excited about was sold out. 2. The rolled roast, one slice, one dumpling, and a dollop of sauerkraut in a brown sauce, was ice cold!!! 3. Fries with currywurst that looked like they came from the fridge – also ice cold. 4. OBATZDA, which was supposed to be chilled, was very warm even though it was supposedly refrigerated. Sorry guys, but that's not right!!! Add to that the completely overpriced prices... nope, a lot needs to be done here. That's a real shame, because the ambiance is really nice...

The beer garden and the staff outside are truly top-notch. The ambiance is also incomparable. However, offering no restrooms other than the ones inside, then blocking all entrances so you HAVE TO WALK AROUND THE ENTIRE BUILDING to get to the toilet, and especially the fact that the man at reception makes fun of it, saying it's a "wonderfully short walk," is abysmal considering the number of guests. That wouldn't be acceptable in Munich. The way to go.

Yes, it was quite OK. I don't need to go back right away. Everything is designed for mass processing.

Beer garden: I only wanted three glasses. Tried eight. Four of them were dirty with lipstick, and one had a cut. They don't even have wine glasses for wine. So, it's best to bring your own. It's a shame, because the indoor dining is actually quite good.

CALLING IS POINTLESS - The phone isn't actually answered (3 days, 12 attempts). Email? "We're not a call center." Okay, otherwise: very nice (really!), and a selection of Bavarian cuisine – but by no means everything you'd normally find in Bavaria. But what they do, they do well 👍🏻.

We had tarte flambée (good) and currywurst (okay), but unfortunately, the fries were cold and old. YUCK. The roast, knuckle of pork, and chicken looked good.

The Zollpackhof is a wonderful, very large beer garden with a cozy interior on the Spree River near the main train station. The beer garden has two areas: a terrace with table service and a self-service garden. Apparently, a lack of staff is causing wait times for drinks and food in the garden to explode. So we left. The terrace was packed. But I've had a nice time there, enjoyed a good meal, and had great service. Give it a try.

I came here with my family for dinner. On the menu (both the online version and the one presented in the restaurant) listed one vegan option. This is the item I ordered and was told they no longer have it on the menu. My husband also ordered an item and was told that that item should no longer be on the menu. We both ordered something different. I ordered the special salad - greens, strawberries, asparagus, and toasted cashews. The salad was absolutely terrible. The lettuce was wet and soggy, the asparagus was mushy, and the strawberries weren’t even put on the salad. Instead, I got a plate with three strawberries on it. There also weren’t any toasted cashews and when I asked about it, I was given a plate with pine nuts and a few macadamia nuts. Needless to say, I didn’t eat the salad but we were charged for it anyway. We did ask that the salad be removed from our bill and it was. But I would not come back here again and I would not recommend this restaurant- so many other, better places to go.

I'm from Munich, and our group chose the Zollpackhof, beautifully situated on the banks of the Spree, for dinner. We had reserved a table on the restaurant terrace. The beer garden itself is shaded by a large chestnut tree, as is typical in Bavaria. The Augustiner beer is, of course, excellent. It would be nice if they also offered Augustiner's non-alcoholic Helles. The food itself, unfortunately, was not good. The roast pork bore little resemblance to a Bavarian roast pork. The Bavarian cabbage was a brown, tasteless mass that had probably been simmering in a pot for several days. The potato dumplings were the size of golf balls, lacking any breadcrumbs. The supposed Augustiner dark beer sauce certainly hadn't even seen a shadow of an Augustiner dark beer. I regularly eat at various Munich Augustiner restaurants and am always impressed by the food there. Perhaps the chef from the Zollpackhof should do an internship there. The schnitzel and Caesar salad were also of extremely mediocre quality. The good and friendly service somewhat mitigated the poor food. Overall verdict: A nice place with good service and good beer. I would look elsewhere for food.

If you want to eat somewhere for a good price and good quality dishes, then this is the place to be. A good atmosphere and friendly staff, where else do you find that. If I want to eat again next time, it will be there. Really great!

One of the most beautiful beer gardens in Berlin

That was the worst restaurant visit of my life! Our friends from Berlin had reserved a table for 7 p.m. The service was very quick, and the drinks were also brought to our table quickly, to our satisfaction. Our dinner order was also taken quickly. The appetizers also arrived quickly, as expected. But then, unfortunately, nothing happened. After the tables around us received their main courses quite quickly, unfortunately, nothing happened to us. At 8:30 p.m., our friends asked about our food. We were assured that it would be served quickly. At 9:15 p.m., we were unfortunately served food that was extremely inferior in quality, preparation, and temperature. We complained about this immediately. The apparent boss then offered us a shot of schnapps or a free dessert. I declined, as I was still sitting at the table feeling hungry. I had hoped that the evening would at least be refunded for free, with drinks on the house. Our friends quietly paid the bill for their meals and our drinks... unbelievable that this was apparently demanded of them. Extremely disgraceful for this restaurant. Unfortunately, I can only strongly advise against a visit.

Unfortunately, the beer garden was very dirty today. The staff deliberately ignored the trash lying on the floor (despite being warned). Dirty dishes were left on the tables forever... A real shame!!!!!

It's unbelievable how they treat their guests here. If there's a sudden downpour, the umbrellas are supposed to be closed. Regardless of whether you're already eating your food. Where are you supposed to go when it's raining? Some lady with a name tag babbled about a beer garden, along the lines of, "It's my problem if I eat here." What was she actually trying to tell me? What was the point of the fuss surrounding the umbrellas, under which beer garden guests wanted to shelter from the rain and enjoy their visit to the Zollpackhof? What was the point of this harassment? It was tantamount to being thrown out. Ultimately, we were always able to convince the men tasked with closing the umbrellas to leave them open. But honestly, what madness is driving management to treat its guests like this? Should they apologize for this? That would be good!

We wanted to go to the beer garden this Sunday evening. Then we'd see the Reichstag illuminated. Forget it. They run out of beer at 9:15 p.m. The tables are horribly dirty. Not recommended. Anyone who wants beer will probably have to leave in the morning.

We went to the Zollpackhof beer garden after work, beautifully situated right on the Spree River. A great place to unwind. There's a restaurant upstairs, and a self-service beer garden downstairs. The concept isn't entirely clear upon first visit. There's a tarte flambée stand right at the entrance, but you order and pay on the other side. Afterward, you walk back to pick up your tarte flambée – a bit inconvenient. Unfortunately, the selection at the checkout was already very limited at 6 p.m. Cold classics like radishes, pepper bites, or sausage salad were already sold out. There was only potato and coleslaw left. When we asked, the only response was, "If it's not there, we're out of it." It's a shame, especially since cold dishes are usually served quickly. We ordered currywurst. It was okay, but nothing special. The price was fair. A bit inconvenient: After getting your food, you have to line up again for drinks, which takes longer when it's busy. Then you go back to the checkout. By the time you finally sit down at your table, the food is no longer warm. Conclusion: The location is truly top-notch, the prices are fair, but there's still room for improvement in the planning and organization. Next time, opt for the restaurant with table service or simply enjoy an after-work beer by the water.

Everyone was very friendly, and the food was delicious. Wait times were absolutely reasonable. Otherwise, the atmosphere was very pleasant. We highly recommend it.

Absolutely fantastic lunch away from the madding crowd. The Spargel was excellent as was the pork schnitzel. Very nice Bavarian beer.

I ate here with a large group. Seats were reserved in advance, as was the menu (a starter and a main course). Not only did we have to wait about an hour between a rather bland/simple salad and the main course (asparagus, a few potatoes, and a Wiener schnitzel), the vegetarians in the group were poorly served. They were constantly served the "normal" food, only to have it taken away again. And the vegan main course consisted of asparagus and a few potatoes. So what the "normal" guest received as a side dish was the main course for the vegan. In my opinion, that was beyond unprofessional.

I love it in the summer. There's nothing more beautiful than visiting a lovely beer garden in such a beautiful area. The only thing is that the food doesn't seem "spectacular" to me, but it's good. Some dishes are better than others. Occasionally, they have special events worth visiting, such as when they have beer on tap or cultural events. They also have a small children's play area.

In my opinion, Berlin's best beer garden. The food is good, and the atmosphere is very nice. The Augustiner beer is very good, and it would be nice to have it from a wooden barrel.

Despite a sudden rush of guests (after the rain the sun finally came out), service in the outdoor area was stopped promptly.

The portions are far too small. We were a group of 22 people, and no one was even remotely full. We had four forks of pasta and a small piece of turkey on top. Every plate was devoured within five minutes. We left as hungry as we came, and to charge €20 for that is, in my opinion, unreasonable. And before you think we're all competitive eaters or something, I weigh almost 50kg and can barely manage half a pizza. But I've never experienced anything like this before.

This review refers to the beer garden. Unfortunately, the quality and attention to detail here have declined considerably in recent years. The chicken lacked crispy skin, the pretzel tasted a day old, and the Obazde cheese didn't contain Camembert, making it difficult to enjoy. One drink came in a dirty glass. To the staff's credit, complaints were handled without issue. For that, and for the truly pleasant ambiance, two stars. I hope to be able to raise this rating soon.

A bit too expensive....that's just how it is

I went to see the Euro Cup final. The food was good, typical German food! The only problem was that there were only two TVs to broadcast the game. And the place was so big. It was almost impossible to see. In terms of broadcasting, Brazil is way ahead.

The Schweinshaxe here was outstanding! This was my first Schweinshaxe in Germany, and they set a high bar for how Schweinshaxe should taste. Also, our server was funny and nice, but I forgot to get his name. When we were about to finish our meal, the restaurant owner came to us while we were having food and asked us about our experience. That was very thoughtful of him! The only downside of this restaurant was how we had to wait, as we didn't make a reservation, but I didn't know that this restaurant was this popular!

The noise level is quite loud. We were in a larger group, so it wouldn't have been possible to have a conversation with the table next to us. The service is nice, friendly, and quick. Unfortunately, the Zollpackhof is a bit inflexible when it comes to making changes to your meal selection. Although the portions were quite large, almost everyone finished theirs, so you can say the food is delicious. 😀

We were there for an after-work drink. The beer was excellent. The location was special, but the canteen food in the beer garden wasn't that great. The comparatively low prices were noticeable.

Unfortunately, we were here with the company. Shortly after nine, the only food available was currywurst and fries. Ketchup and mayo came from packets, very environmentally friendly. You'd be happy to wait in line for half an hour for that—no. At least there's plenty of space.

We got currywurst and fries for our kids at the bar in the beer garden. Prices: €4.50 for a small currywurst with sauce and another €5 for a small handful of fries, we think, are excessive. Tip: buying them separately doesn't cost any more, but you get twice as many fries. We saw it ourselves with the person in front of us :(

Der Zollpackhof war gut besucht, was meist schon ein gutes Zeichen ist – und das hat sich bestätigt. Das Essen war top, die Wartezeit zwischen Bestellung und Servieren erstaunlich kurz. Das spricht für eine gut organisierte, vorbereitete Küche. Das Personal war sehr angenehm, aufmerksam und umsichtig. Preislich eher im oberen Bereich, aber wer in Berlin ein bayrisches Wirtshaus mit Qualität sucht, wird hier definitiv fündig. Empfehlung: Reservieren

Was there again today and it was perfect, the food was really good, I had a knuckle of pork and it was really tasty but they could have added a bit more to the dumplings

Als nach anderthalb Stunden das Essen endlich kam, waren die Kartoffeln halbgar, der Spargel lauwarm, das Kalbsschnitzel unter der Panade kaum auszumachen. Einzig der Rostbraten war okay. Der Biergarten ist möglicherweise ganz nett, das Restaurant jedenfalls nicht empfehlenswert.

Great location, good beer, poor food, and almost nonexistent service. In Munich beer gardens, the lines are much shorter and the checkout process is faster. Nuremberg bratwursts were sold out by 8:30 p.m. - "It's just busy today," was the banal comment. Great for a drink in a cozy atmosphere, but don't plan on eating.

We met for a reunion of Co workers of the last 30 years. My friends are all in their 80s, thus you need to have a bit of patience. Our female server had lots of patience, she was extraordinary nice, repeated everything multiple times and was just super sweet. Food is great but not extraordinary. Great atmosphere. We were indoors as the weather was rainy. Great place to visit with great view on the Bundeskanzleramt.
