Very pleasant, both the atmosphere and the service.

A really good Apfelweinlokal with an extensive selection of regional classic dishes. They have a large, but cozy indoor area with lots of seating. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and spoke English. We weren’t sure how much apfelwein we would drink so started out with a 4er Bembel. For dinner starter, we tried Handkäse with Musik. Then had Frankfurter style Schnitzel with Grüne Soße and roasted potatoes, Grilled Bacon Chop with Spätzle and salad. All was generous portions for a fair price. The apfelwein was so smooth, we ordered another 4er! Before the kitchen closed, we got some Apple strudel to-go for our breakfast in the morning! The tables were full of boisterous groups, making it clear this is a place the locals enjoy!

Unpleasant service, mediocre food, terrible service, and a long wait. Each dish takes more than 25 minutes to be served, and they offer no apologies. They lack empathy and politeness; not recommended. There are better places around here with better service.

No. Unfriendly staff, who were unfortunately overwhelmed by the lack of structure. The food was also unloving and not very tasty. I've rarely had such bad liver dumplings. The cordon bleu was out of fried food. The aspic was quite nice.

I usually really like going here. It's nice to sit outside in the summer. The staff is usually really cool. Blondie or the older veterans ;) We went today on a holiday. Many tables were free, or reservations weren't available until 1.5 hours later. We wanted a drink and a bite to eat at 4:00 PM. At first, they said it was okay, but then the rude waitress came to our table, looking snotty and wearing fake eyelashes. Nope, just a main course, sorry. Such behavior is irritating and annoying. The place seems to be doing well enough.

I've decided to have my lunch there and wanted to give it a try. You will see a sign at the entrance, saying please wait. There was a group in front of me, they haven't waited so long however when it was my turn they kept ignoring me for some reason(my guess is because i was alone; means less income for them). After waiting around 10 mins they finally decided me to have a seat and ironicaly they came to ask what i want so quick. I didn't like their behaviors and decided only to have a drink. Because they gave me the shittiest table which was like 30 degrees under the sun(this part is acceptable because i had no reservation) i tried to call them idk how many times to ask if its possible to change the table, they kept ignoring me until i got a sunburn. At the end i managed to sit somewhere else then realised you actually don't have to have a rezervation in order to sit some tables there, they said no to me because only 1 person is no customer for them apparently. As long as i finished my drink, the lady which she kept ignoring me with a fake smile suddenly ended up my table asking if o want another drink. I said "ich überlege" then she immediately left with a very rude behaviour saying some cursing words in german. Don't ever come here as a 1 person if you want to be treated properly.

A pleasant atmosphere, occasionally irritable service, and overpriced drinks make this place a great place to linger. The food was simple but good.

I can't rate the food or atmosphere, as we were immediately kicked out for being a stag or hen party. The place was completely booked. Everything was empty inside, and we still got a seat outside. As I said, we were only kicked out because we were a stag or hen party. It's a shame. I've heard so many good things about it, but now I have a different impression.

I found this restaurant very pleasant; it wasn't too loud or crowded. The food was delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive. We were assigned a table even though we hadn't made a reservation.

So after a day of walking around the city, this was a truly homely, pleasant way to end the day. I didn't eat anything; I did that somewhere else, but of course I had to treat myself to an eppelwoi today. It's served in the typical patterned glass (see pictures). If you prefer cider with spritzer, you'll have to order it that way. Otherwise, it'll be served neat :-)

The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was good. But... the smell of pork was so strong in the Eiswein. It was so bad that flies kept buzzing around. The asparagus soup was delicious. But the Eiswein was really... It wasn't so bad that it was uneatable, but it was disappointing because the smell was so strong.

The food was horrible, the older staff said they didn't cook it. The young waitress was nice though, and he was cool. The potato was burnt like a shoe sole. I wouldn't even give it to my hamster. I was even drunk, and it still tasted like cracks.

The potatoes were extremely burnt and still raw on the other side. The first waiter responded, "It's not my fault, I didn't do it." But afterward, he offered a shot of schnapps as an apology.

Unfortunately, the food wasn't seasoned. The schnitzel was good, but the fried potatoes were undercooked and unseasoned. As compensation, we were given a shot of schnapps. At least that's what it was.

Unfortunately the chef changed in 2024, now the food is only worth ⭐️1 star. Excellent home cooking like grandma's. Gladly again. It's nice that there are still pubs like this, that aren't just a scam for tourists.

Direct and friendly service... I can recommend the sparkling apple wine as well as the salad with schnitzel strips and green sauce. And all at a fair price. The sun in the beer or wine garden gets an extra star 😅

We were rudely sent on our way because we just wanted to drink cider and not eat anything. There were enough places available, in a cider bar I actually expect a place for thirsty people who don't want to eat. Then there are 14 people right next to the competition.

When visiting frankfurt visit this place,the atmosphere is great, the service comes with a smile, and the food is affordable and had a great classic taste. We loved it and came back the day after!

One of the best cider bars in Sachsenhausen! The outdoor area is typically Hessian cozy, under old trees - perfect for mild evenings. The apple wine is wonderfully tart and exactly as it should be - a real Frankfurt original. A big compliment to our waitress: super warm, quick and always with a smile. Despite the full house, she had everything under control and was incredibly attentive. This just makes you feel good. A must for everyone who wants to experience the real Frankfurt feeling - definitely come back!

We were looking for an authentic German restaurant in Frankfurt, and we certainly found it here. Our waitress (blonde, I wish I knew her name!) was so accommodating in making recommendations and helping to translate. She recommended the green sauce for our Schnitzel, and it was fantastic. Paired with the Apfelwein, I am still dreaming of this meal. Incredibly affordable, huge portions, made fresh with great outdoor ambiance. 10/10 would recommend!

Typical German food, without a doubt the best place for them, whenever I go to Frankfurt I end up there, the Frankfurter Grüne Soße is fantastic, the best in all of Frankfurt.

Amazing! If you are looking for a very approachable and authentic experience of eating true German food, this is the place to go. I can especially recommend the dishes with „Frankfurter Grüne-Soße“. This dish actually originated from the neighboring city part called „Oberrad“. A perfect opportunity to experience Frankfurt as a native, tourist or with a business event.

One of the classic, rustic cider bars in Sachsenhausen - only apparently a tourist place. The service is very, very nice and good at the same time very special in style. Especially el flaco, the brother in the spirit of Luis Cesar Menotti. You can also go here with several people and in summer you can sit outside on the small Affentorplatz.

Food is very good. The restaurant is a traditional cider bar and has been preserved in its original form. It has none of the artificial flair of a regular restaurant. The restaurant has a beautiful outdoor area with old trees against the backdrop of beautiful old houses. You get a very cheap lunch. I had a fresh redfish fillet with boiled potatoes and tartar sauce for 9.90 euros. Elsewhere you can only get frozen food at lunchtime for a lot more money. The lunch menu is also varied. The Irish stew is legendary. I was satisfied every time. Unfortunately, parking options are limited. You have to walk a bit, but it's definitely worth it. The staff is very nice and accommodating

We were a group of 9 and went for dinner. The restaurant has rules for group reservations for understandable reasons. The general atmosphere, service and food were good. However, our main reason for visiting was to drink cider and at around 10:30pm we were told the cider was out. I think a restaurant that imposes rules on its groups of guests should at least ensure that the product it has in its name is available in sufficient quantities.

Just recalled that I never left any review for this shop after a few visit 🫨 The flammkuchen tasted pretty nice 👌🏻 we accidentally ordered Eisbein instead of the Schweinshaxe 😂 but surprisingly my boyfriend enjoyed it, so i guess it was a nice try! And as always, Bratkartoffeln with grüne Soße will never go wrong 🤤 We love the Apfelstrudel too! 🍎 (Not in Picture) I really like their champignon schnitzel! Apfelwein hmmmm not our thing here

I was here in the summer. Delicious apple cider and a cool cookie - what more could you want. The food was delicious, the service was friendly and quick. Always my pleasure.

Yes, Dauth-Schneider used to be an absolute blast, you immediately connected and could celebrate and be happy. With a rib with cabbage and the apple wine in full jugs. The food is very good, you can also sit outside.

We were actually regulars and only had dinner there last week (see photos!) Yesterday we just wanted to have a drink - at a time when there was hardly a table occupied. We were grumpily asked to sit right next to the door, where there was a draft, to have a quick drink. The question as to whether we could sit at another of the many unoccupied tables that was not directly at the door and counter was rudely answered in the negative! We then went to Struwwelpeter and had a meal there for over 20 euros! Apparently Daubt Schneider doesn't need this! Never there again! When we came out of the Struwwelpeter, there was still hardly anyone sitting in the Daubt Schneider. So it would have been possible to host us! Never again this unhospitable restaurant 👎 Unfortunately I cannot respond to the owner's answer: as already written: When we left the competition, the Daudt Schneider was still very empty - it's a shame I didn't take a photo of it! They could have entertained us, but just drinking wasn't enough! No more! 👎

You can order Zurich Geschnetzeltes for over 20 EUR and get a portion with about 4 strips of meat. The taste was good, but it only lasted a short time, then the portion was gone and the hunger was still there. When asked, the answer was harsh that the boss had calculated it that way. The price-performance ratio here is underground, unfortunately no longer recommended.

We were there in a larger group and unfortunately we weren't particularly impressed by the food or the staff. The knuckle was soggy and had no crust, they definitely saved on the sliced ​​meat, a very minimalist portion for over €20. When we kindly pointed this out to the waitress, she said: “The manager had measured it exactly and there wasn't any more for the price, and we would probably be hungrier than everyone else. The portion would be enough.” We understand something different by friendly guest service and unfortunately the food in general didn't taste good. Never again and we will certainly not recommend anyone to eat there.

When in Frankfurt, go to Alt-Sachsenhausen which is the only surviving part of historical Frankfurt. There, you will find traditional restaurants that serve amazing local food and cider. Dishes with the Frankfurt green sauce are a must-try here. They serve tasty desserts too.

Así que realmente no entiendo a la gente que le gusta este lugar, es lo peor de lo que Alemania tiene para ofrecer. El lugar es realmente una trampa para el turismo masivo. Detallemos: El servicio es mínimo, como en un restaurante de comida rápida, una señora para asistir a un grupo de más de 30 personas, ella hace todo lo posible, pero francamente es lento... Probé el vino apfel, que no pude terminar. Aperitivo : traen un plato que parecen un plato de hospital... 3 opciones una con queso como cosas (malas) , una salsa verdosa con huevos (mmmpor qué no) y una última parte, todavía no sé qué era. El. Viene el plato principal chucrut con salchicha y cerdo. Pobre chucrut (falta por completo el sabor del vino, y las especias solo col acuosa) , embutidos mediocres y cerdo industrial falta el sabor de las cosas reales. Para los vegetarianos las salchichas falsas parecen reales, por lo que muchos incluso las probaron. Puré de patatas también tan insípido. Tan grasienta y extrañando el sabor, una lata de chucrut habría sabido mejor. El strudel de manzana también cojo. No vayas allí.

Yeah, it was good. I had apple wine, frankfurter with green sauce and potatoes, and handkase mit musik. I personally didn't finish the handkäse but it was good. The main meal was a great treat. I would recommend it. I came in thinking I needed german translate, but servers spoke English so it was really helpful for me.

We always enjoy going to Dauth-Schneider, a cozy apple wine bar in the middle of Sachsenhausen on Affentorplatz with a classic Hessian menu. The atmosphere can be a bit loud at times, but if you don't like that, you can't go to the apple winery.

The schnitzel, Apfelwein, and liver sausage were delicious with a very energetic and friendly mother! It's voluminous, so it's best to consult your stomach before ordering 🙆‍♀️

The food is Hessian and good for trying everything. Very popular because it was very loud inside and unfortunately uncomfortable on the beer benches. The beer tables are too narrow to accommodate food when someone is sitting across from them. Not my thing. 😐

Absolutely loved sitting in the garden. Staff was very friendly. Had the huge Frankfurt schnitzel and Jaeger schnitzel. Every part of the meal was delicious. The green sauce delightful. The apfelwein was refreshing, especially with a small part of water added.

Excellent!!! Simply great!! I came to eat a typical Frankfurt cuisine dish but it was a lot of food for 1 person. I chose pork mignon medallions in pepper sauce and toasted potatoes!!! The salad that accompanies is also delicious!! Super Divine!!!!
