The place is relatively nice and cosy but don't expect anything about the food. The noodles that were supposed to be "ramen" came out extremely salty, almost not eatable. The burger is no better than in any fast food restaurant, just 3 times more expensive! I didn't see anything that looks like german, apart from the beer...

The service is very attentive and friendly. We were there in a group, and not alone, so the food was understandably in buffet form. There were long waiting times at the stations, unfortunately the food was either lukewarm or cold. The problem could have been gotten under control through better structure and distribution. You definitely shouldn't squeeze the chef with the meat into the farthest corner where it feels like 20 people are lining up, blocking 30% of the buffet.

In early March of 2023, my wife and I were staying at the Hotel next door, and they told us about the restaurant. We went at around 5:30 pm. We were greeted promptly, then seated. Language barrier was not an issue. We had Wienerschnitzel with seasoned potatoes and mushroom gravy. As you can see by the picture below, the Schnitzel filled the plate. As the title says, the food and service were excellent. If we are ever in Frankfort again, we will most definitely eat at the Unterschweinstiege Restaurant again. Chris and Judy Workman.

I had a vegan starter and a vegetarian main i.e., the Sous Vide cooked Chickory and the Beet Root Spatzle respectively. Both were very well presented and tasted delicious. The service was excellent too. Nice atmosphere also.

We had booked at the Steigenberger 1 night before departure with a 2-course menu, which we were able to enjoy at the Unterschweinstiege. It's really cozy, very nice team and it tasted great... the Kaiserschmarrn for dessert was divine🥰 Thank you very much, see you next year

Ich hatte hier mein Abendessen vor dem Abflug in den Urlaub . Das Essen war gut und reichlich , die Bedienung sehr freundlich , aber leider ist es schon recht teuer.

The real deal for classic German food. Best Schnitzel I’ve ever had. and I be had a lot of schnitzel in my time. Potatoes were perfect and the grilled vegetables surprised me…I couldn’t stop eating them!

This place is hidden in the back of the Steigenberger hotel. It took us a while to find it. Bottom line is to park in the garage next to the Steigenberger hotel. Food, service, wine is absolutely excellent. Open relatively late. My new to go to when leaving from Frankfurt.

We enjoyed an absolutely delicious dinner here whilst staying in one of the airport hotels. It is a bit pricey but the food is genuine German food and it is excellent, so totally worth it. We tried a veal schnitzel with green sauce, bratwurst, potato gratin, and 3 glasses of local wine. The servings are huge and they also provide bread, butter and cream cheese at no cost. For 2 of us our bill was just under 100 Euro. The service was friendly, attentive and fast. Highly recommend this restaurant, other restaurants in this precinct don’t appear to offer traditional German food so it’s well worth it. Google maps shows pedestrian access incorrectly - walk down the street with the same name as the restaurant!

Meh. The atmosphere and service were top notch. The food however was nothing special. Seemed like everything was deep fried to keep it easy for cook. We had pork knuckle, wienerschnitzel and bratwurst. The bratwurst was good and I would order again. Overall nice experience but I would probably not return.

Fantastic restaurant that I happened to come upon by accident since I was staying at the Steigenberger Hotel right next door. Great German cuisine, I highly recommend the Veal Schnitzel. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was very cozy and upscale. I ended up coming back the next evening for an encore dinner.

Ambiente etwas angestaubt, Service sehr aufmerksam und professionell. Das Essen ist gut (anspruchsvolle bürgerliche Küche) aber für das Gebotene etwas zu teuer.

Nettes Ambiente aber das Essen war teuer und fade im Geschmack... war in Summe eher enttäuscht und es werden die Hotelgäste eher abgegriffen da wenig Alternativen in der Nähe sind.

Das Essen war leider enttäuschend, z.T. waren Vorspeisen sehr geschmacksneutral, die Hauptgerichte waren kalt sowie auch die Beilagen. Gefühlt waren die Vorspeisen wärmer als die Hauptgerichte. Den Service möchte ich als sehr gut bezeichnen. Wir waren schon, mit diesem Besuch zum dritten Mal zum Brunch, ob es noch einen weiteren Besuch wird zweifel ich stark an. Die beiden Besuche waren von der Küche um Welten besser. Für 69 Euro darf man mehr erwarten.

What a great find hidden behind a hotel. The cheese board, the schnitzel, the seasonal beer, the pilsner — all of it was outstanding.

Love coming here. The food and atmosphere will make you feel like if you’re at grandma’s house. Don’t expect to be in a rush here, the food is definitely worth the wait.

Amazing food! Veal schnitzel served at its finest with the mushroom cream sauce. The starter of sauerkraut soup was a special recipe from one of the chef's grandma in Poland and definitely a must try. Service by J. Musall was prompt, helpful, friendly and memorable. Will be back next time traveling through Frankfurt!

Tolles Ambiente und sehr klassische Gerichte frisch interpretiert. Im Restaurant merkt man gar nicht, dass man direkt am Flughafen ist. Das Personal war sehr freundlich.

Anfangs habe ich bedauert, dass nur dieses Restaurant am Steigenberger Airport Hotel auf hatte. Wir haben etwas gesucht und es dann gefunden. Die Einrichtung auf den ersten Blick etwas „altbacken“. Erinnerte mich etwas an den alten „Wienerwald“. Obwohl das ungerecht ist. Das Essen war wirklich hervorragend. Die Portionen reichlich, interessante Zusammenstellungen. Aufmerksame und freundliche Mitarbeiter:innen. Immer bereit, es einem schön zu machen. Die Preise sind für den Großraum Frankfurt angemessen. Auf jeden Fall ein großes Lob und weiter zu empfehlen.

Really cool hidden resturuant german style hut almost in the middle of the hotel commercial area. Really great German food and drinks. Great staff great recommendations for food and drink. You need to go through the hotel. The Google direction in slightly wrong leads to a delivery entrance but worth following the signs inside striengen hotel.

Das Essen war der Kracher. Sah nicht nur gut aus, war auch sehr lecker. Der Kalbsrücken im Menü kann ebenso, wie die Vielfalt des Buffet s, sehr empfohlen werden. Die Bedienung ist hervorragend.

Went here for Christmas Eve dinner as it was one of the only spots open near the Frankfurt airport (where I was stuck for a day due to flight delays). Service was very friendly and they had menus in English. The food was excellent. Service was a bit slow at times, but...Christmas. A bit pricey for the 4-course meal, but that's to be expected because...Christmas.

We took a flyer on this restaurant as the recent reviews looked great and the low ones were years ago. It was awesome. Food was excellent, one of my better meals in Germany ever. Service was terrific. This was a huge unexpected surprise for some world travelers used to the San Francisco food scene. Give it a try!

All three of us loved our meals, and the dedicated schnitzel eater said it was the best schnitzel he’d had (he got the jäger version). Extensive wine selection. Wonderful, friendly service. Excellent way to end our trip.

The garden setting was a delightful aspect of this large restaurant serving excellent German dishes. I was surprised to find this located very close to the airport — walking distance in fact from Terminal 2. The interior is all dark wood, and in the warm months they appear to operate a beer garden. I ordered beer, served in chilled ceramic mugs, and the classic Schweinhaxe. Very good.

The food was really good but the service was litterally outstanding. The most friendly and helpful service You can imagine from the young man who attended our table. I wish I had asked for his name to mention him in this review, because he went out of his way to help us spend an excellent evening, enjoy the meal and to find an easier way back to our hotel. The traditional decor of the restaurant is pleasant and food was very tasty. Highly recommended for those in the area wanting quality food in a nice setting.

The place is absolutely spectacular! From incredible service to a perfectly cooked filet and surprisingly good German Pinot Noir, this was completely unexpected. Staying at the adjacent hotel for a layover, I wasn’t expecting my tastebuds to be tickled quite as good. The service 5* Food 5* Wine 5*

Went for nice dinner with Friends in their Biergarten. They reserved a nice place and accepted our dog also. Good social distance and COVID measures applied. We ordered nice food ( vegetarian, fish and meat) all was prepared well and tasty. For sure the menu offers only limited selection but everything we tried was excellent. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Great value for money!

Our flight to Dubai was delaid for 12 hours and we were booked into the hotel Steigenberger. Check in was quick and efficient. Rooms are typical airport size on the small side. We skipped the airline bufet food and opted for the UnterschweinStiege instead. Service was very good and the food tasty. Kuup up s great smile.

Literally made an account to leave this review. The buffet was 36€ and had few options, my friend got spinach dumplings that were flavorless, to the point where he had to ask for hot sauce, and dense. it looked like someone chewed up a bunch of bran and like two pieces of spinach and then spit it out. The menu was complicated and hard to read, to the point where I just got the buffet.

As i entered, found the restaurant interior comfortable and service attentive. this german restaurant possesses a terrific buffet for a reasonable price considering the quality. the variety of vegetables. - both fresh and cooked— was surprising and welcome ( veggies dont seem a core competency ex- potatoes in germany). desserts were varied and straightforward. enjoyed the varieties of beers.

This is not an ordinary buffet. This very German buffet has delicious grilled meats being cooked as you are there. They have shrimp and prawns (delicious). Chicken ragout was so good. Many other things I didn’t try. The desserts were outrageous and beautifully presented.
