It is a highly recommended place to have lunch or dinner in Frankfurt. Both the roast knuckle and the sausages are great and are located throughout the historic center of the city.

If you look like a tourist, they will even include a tip in the price list. I expected around 80 euros, but was charged 90 euros, and without even thinking about it, I paid 95 euros plus a 5 euro tip. Something was strange, so I asked for a receipt, which I don't usually receive... Oh my! Sure enough! They had already secretly charged 10% for the drink gelt. On top of that, I gave another tip. I guess they thought you were a fanboy. Fortunately, after checking the receipt, I complained and got my 10 euros back. I am leaving a review so that others will not be disappointed. If you look like a tourist, they sneakly show you the price with tip. I expected to pay just around 80€, and got charged 90€, and I unknowingly added a 5€ tip on top, making it 95€ total. Felt weird, so I asked for a receipt (which I normally don’t do)... And guess what? Surprise, surprise! They had already added a 10% service charge without saying a word. So basically, I gave a tip on top of their sneaky pre-tip. I did get 10€ back after complaining. thank you for the perfect service. Leaving this review so no one else gets played like this. Tip is something I give, not something you sneak in.

An iconic place in Frankfurt. Located right in the center near the Dom you get an authentic German experience. The beer is diversified and very good and the food is very varied including German specialties. The prices are also decent and the staff is very attentive and helpful.

We did not eat, therefore my review only concerns the brief conversation we had with the person who, anything but kindly, welcomed us. My question: do you have a table for three people (I saw some free tables); His response: have you booked? My answer: no, we are tourists and we were passing by; His answer: there is no room. End of conversation. We took note and went to another place (less fake and fuller than the previous one) with German cuisine where, without a reservation, they found us a seat. Frankfurt is full of good German taverns where you can try typical dishes which, let's face it, are all similar. Beer is excellent everywhere so you just need to take a few steps to fix it.

Consistent value in its food and service. Unfortunately the ventilation was so bad that when we left the shop our clothes smelled like we were working in the kitchen. I believe that such a good restaurant needs some renovation every now and then.

We went there on a Saturday, could find a table even without reservation. The atmosphere was really nice, a beautiful and clean restaurant, german-style. The service was also very good. What really disappointed was the food. I know that you can't expect the best in such tourist spots, but the quality of the food was really bad and the prices so high that it is one of the worst value for money I have experienced in Frankfurt. Go maybe for a beer but avoid eating there.

I'm a little confused about this place, the food is very good, the place is normal, but the service of the waiters is really bad and it may be something cultural since as Mexicans, we are used to a much different service, I know that in Europe that type of service does not exist, but other than that, the experience here of attention, not of service, is terrible, they do not look at you, they take too long to give you the menu and then they take longer with the food, but the experience would be even worse, they take even longer to give you a table if you arrive without a reservation, there is no sign that says wait to be served, and if you ask them they are always running away with bad answers and believe me it is not the language, because they have their phraseology well in English, you cannot approach them to ask for a table, they turn their backs on you, you have to be chasing them, not at all attentive when talking to people, I understand that the local people may have their secrets but being in a tourist area there are people from everywhere, I had to watch while I waited for my table, which was a little over 30 minutes, how people from Japan, Latin America, and other places responded poorly, and a waitress even asked some Asians to get up because they sat at a table that had just left. In the end, they ended up leaving. I think that aside from the cultural and linguistic issues, there is a lack of attention.

If you want to taste a german food, drink good beer and feel loud atmospher which is usual for national german restaurant the best vhoice is Oauliner am dom restaurant. They served so tasty chrispy pork knuckle, sausage or schnitzel which come great with beer (weisbier isy choice). The staff are very kind and hospitality. Only which I can suggest is to make reservation before you go, because they are always so full. All that remains is for you to enjoy.

Delicious traditional food in a cozy relaxed atmosphere.

Basically, it's delicious, but the staff is busy and there are a lot of people so it's hectic. I recommend it if you need to eat near the cathedral, but you don't have to go far to find it.

Fantastic restaurant 👌. Is a bit hidden at the rear side of the church, but once you get in is cozy. The waitress are dressed with typical German outfits. The beer is awesome as many places, however here everything is branded with Paulaner. The food is also good, I tried the knuckle that is big, I would recommend to share that plate, unless you are super hungry and if you eat a lot 😋 The schnitzel is perfectly cooked and we saw a plate of sausages that looked fantastic as well. Is a mix of 3 different sausages that can also be shared but is fine for an individual portion.

If you are visiting Frankfurt for the first time or want to experience Germany in the most efficient way possible on your itinerary, you can have dinner here. At 7 p.m., you can enjoy the pleasant sight of the cathedral bells ringing. It's right next to Römerplatz and the cathedral, and you can try Munich's Paulaner beer as a draft beer, as well as Schweinhaxen, wurst sausages, schnitzel, and other menu items. Servers in Europe are different from those in Korea, so please don't call or gesture loudly and be a little more lenient about service times. It's a little faster than other restaurants.

Do NOT go here. This place has MICE. A mouse ran across our feet WHILE we were eating and when I looked down under the table I found another mouse DEAD and DECOMPOSING in an open mouse trap. I couldn’t believe my eyes. We told the waitress who responded only with “we know”. We were refused any discount on anything we ordered despite this and were instead offered a dessert, an apple strudel with pastry which was completely RAW and INEDIBLE. Not to mention, if you hope to come here for the pork knuckle, don’t bother. The menu says wait time 30mins but it came out in less than 10. It was clear it had been microwaved, the meat was dry and the “crispy” skin was rock solid. Don’t walk , RUN AWAY from this place. A complete tourist scam and brings shame to the Paulaner brand.

Authentic German restaurant. Nice flavors and big portions. Ocoberfesst is the dish containing shank, smoked steak, schnitzel and frankfurter sausage. Everything you want to try from Bavarian cuisine... Fast and friendly service. If you go to Frankfurt what do I recommend!

Appropriate ambience. Pleasantly empty at lunchtime every week. Delicious food, which unfortunately is served rather lukewarm. Part of German restaurant culture is that guests can talk undisturbed for a while after ordering and without food in their mouths. The food doesn't have to be delivered in an impossible record time. This shows that everything is already prepared and not really fresh. You can do this when the store is filled with dull tourists. Express processing should only take place then.

More touristy. Food was okay. Dähatten the mixed plate. Half the knuckle was so dry that you almost choked on it. Location a bit like sitting in a container. It's okay but as I said, more for tourists from further away.

For me it was a typical tourist restaurant. The goal seems to be to process a lot of people quickly. As a solo traveler, I was seated at a table right by the counter. Terribly restless and only one stool to sit on. This is not how I imagine a cozy meal to be. When I asked for a seat with a backrest, I was assigned a small room with a small table. Okay first, then the order. Everything came very quickly. Too fast in my opinion. The taste was good, but nothing special. Unfortunately, I noticed that guests were generally treated quite rudely. Two women were also told that such a small group would be difficult. I would be interested to know why it is worth so little as a solo traveler or as a couple. This is not hospitality. I then asked for the card for dessert. Got it and then had to wait 20 minutes - no one came. I placed my order on the way to the toilet. Unfortunately, I again encountered the rude waitress who harshly referred me to her colleague. All in all, 30 euros were gone, including the tip. Frankfurt price plus current market situation. It's probably ok. But to be honest, this kind of treatment no longer makes me want to take my money to this place, but to a place where you are valued as an individual. I didn’t have a reservation but they were able to find me a seat. Service was great. Food was delicious. Price was fair. I will be returning when I go back to Frankfurt.

It's nice that there's just breakfast. The condition of the accommodation is not as good as other places, but it is value for money. And be sure to go to the beer house on the first floor in the evening. It's delicious.

A restaurant so good that we went back two days in a row! If you are in Frankfurt and want to taste local specialities, this is the right place. Food is more average than good. According to the menu, bread dumplings are homemade, but as soon as you eat them, anyone who has ever made them knows that this is not the case. Staff is nice but for almost no guests there are 6 people standing around chatting as if they were at a party rather than at work.

Visitando Frankfurt con mi esposa e hija y queríamos experimentar la buena cocina alemana. Después de leer muchas críticas que elegimos visitar aquí y no nos decepcionó. No habíamos reservado y era un domingo por la noche con muchos restaurantes cerrados, pero el personal nos sentó rápidamente. El personal era excelente, muy amable y feliz, nos sentimos muy bienvenidos. La comida y la cerveza era tan sabrosa y servida rápidamente. Fue un final perfecto para nuestro viaje. El restaurante está a 5 minutos a pie de Paulsplatz, muy cerca de la catedral de Frankfurt.

Leider war unser Besuch am heutigen Samstag sehr enttäuschend. Das Ambiente und der Service waren/sind nett aber das Essen, bis auf den Nachtisch einfach nicht lecker. Vielleicht hätten wir auch was anderes bestellen sollen aber beim Schnitzel und co.sollte normalerweise nicht so viel schief gehen. Um mich kurz zu fassen: Fleisch von schlechter Qualität, zu dick, nicht durchgebraten, Kartoffeln zu dick, verbrannt und ohne Geschmack. Die Soße wirklich katastrophal und die Pilze wie Gummibärchen. Die restlichen Gerichte genauso. Sorry liebe Gastronomen aber das darf euch nicht passieren denn für so eine Qualität noch Geld zu bekommen ich definitiv eine Abzocke!

I visited on January 25, 2025 at around 8:00 pm. This is such a famous restaurant that if you think of German food in Frankfurt, this is the place to go. I happened to be sharing a table with a Japanese person. First drink (beer) Think about the dish before ordering. I ordered an assortment of 4 types of sausages and fried pork. The seasoning was delicious and it was a fun restaurant where you could feel Germany. Of course the sausage was delicious, but the potatoes were delicious. The store clerk's older sister is dressed in traditional clothing, and it's fun to see her in that style. I paid a 10% tip. I think it was about 10,000 yen for two people. I would like to visit Frankfurt again if I have another chance.

Great place to try traditional German food. There are a lot of people so you may have to share the table. The overall salty taste is strong, so ordering beer or a soft drink is a must.
