Wasn't really mine. The restaurant was connected to the gas station. So I felt like I was at a train station. Service was difficult as I don't know the language used there. I can only speak German, poor English, Italian and Swedish.
Price performance underground. On the way home I was tempted to go to Mac Donald again. I bought 2 double cheeseburgers for just under €8 (I'd rather go to the bakery and buy 2 good sandwiches) for a meal. I fell for it again. But the staff was very friendly and professional.
The long chicken (the meat) wasn't crispy on the outside but rather fatty, as if it had been in the frying fat for a long time and the frying fat wasn't hot enough. Tasted like old frying fat.
Same with the Nuggets.
There was an aftertaste of fat on the tongue.
Since Lieferando probably blocks negative reviews, then so be it. We had it delivered today and wanted to eat MC Chicken and Mc Rib again after a long time. Rolls sticky, chicken there was only the taste of breading. Mc Rib is no longer what it used to be. You could look for a salad at Mc Chicken and a slice of cucumber at MC Rib. The highlight was the artificial and floury, strangely disgusting taste of White Choc raspberry. One bite and NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOF. And something like that for so much money - shame on you, you can't offer that to anyone!
I normally write reviews very rarely but you forgot my shitty 9 nuggets. Of course that happens, but I was looking forward to the nuggets hours before the end of my catering shift. I only noticed it at home
The shift is strange... Only after I started asking why no one was coming up and taking the bar - they came up... they always responded quickly in this place...
Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3/5)
I visited McDonald's at Dusseldorf Airport and I want to share my impressions.
1. Location and accessibility
It is located in the airport terminal, which makes it convenient for travelers waiting for a flight or arriving in the city. It is easy to find - it is in the arrivals area, and the signs are quite visible. In principle, the idea is good: after a long flight or before landing, you can quickly grab a bite in a familiar and understandable place.
But there is a nuance: during rush hours it is very crowded. Queues can be long, and free seats at tables are rare. If you have little time before boarding, waiting for your order can be a problem.
2. Service
Here is where the fun begins. In general, the staff works quite quickly, but is clearly overloaded. It is obvious that the employees are trying, but they are clearly understaffed.
The cashiers are polite, but not in a hurry, and the kitchen seems to be in a constant rush. In some cases, orders are mixed up or take a long time to prepare, especially if it is not a standard burger, but, for example, a salad or coffee.
Orders are issued through self-service terminals, but sometimes they work intermittently. There were cases when the terminal froze, and you had to call an employee, who also could not always quickly solve the problem.
3. Food quality
McDonald's is McDonald's, and you should not expect restaurant quality here. But still, the food in the airport branch seems a little worse than in the city restaurants of the chain.
Pros:
✔️ Burgers meet McDonald's standards.
✔️ French fries are crispy (if fresh).
✔️ Drinks are served in a good assortment.
Cons:
❌ Often the food looks untidy, as if it was put together in a hurry.
❌ Potatoes are sometimes oversalted or, on the contrary, bland.
Coffee is average quality, sometimes bitter.
I often order a Big Mac - in this branch it was warm, but not hot, the bun was a little dry. Chicken McNuggets were tasty, but the sauce was not the one I ordered.
4. Prices
Since this is McDonald's at the airport, the prices here are higher than in the city restaurants of the chain. The difference is not critical, but still noticeable.
For example:
A Big Mac menu in the city costs about 10 €, and here - 12 €.
Cappuccino is 1-2 € more expensive than in other McDonald's.
A cheeseburger costs about 3 €, although you can usually find it cheaper.
Paying more for the same burgers is not the most pleasant feeling, but for an airport this is standard practice.
5. Cleanliness and atmosphere
A difficult question. On the one hand, the restaurant looks modern, clean, and cozy. On the other hand, due to the influx of people, the tables are not always cleared on time, and the trash cans overflow.
Pros:
✔️ The design is nice, like in new McDonald's.
✔️ There are charging stations for phones.
Cons:
❌ Sometimes they don't clear the tables on time.
❌ It's too noisy during rush hours.
If you need to have a quiet snack, this can be a problem here.
6. Speed of service
As I already said, this can be difficult. Depending on the time of day, you can get your order in 3 minutes, or you can wait 15-20 minutes, which is a bit much for McDonald's.
If you order something non-standard, for example, coffee with plant milk or a burger without sauce, the likelihood of a delay increases.
7. Airport Alternatives
If you're not a McDonald's fan, there are other options at Düsseldorf Airport:
Bäckerei Kamps – delicious sandwiches and pastries.
Marché Mövenpick – better quality food, but more expensive.
Starbucks – for those who want coffee and dessert.
McDonald's is still a good option if you want a quick and predictable snack, but sometimes the wait can be longer than you'd like.
8. Overall Rating
Food: 3/5
Service: 3/5
Cleanliness: 3/5
Prices: 2/5
Speed: 3/5
Overall Rating: 3/5
McDonald's at Düsseldorf Airport is a good option, but far from ideal. If you're short on time, you risk getting stuck in line. If you want to enjoy your food, it's better to look for an alternative. But if you want a standard burger without any surprises, this is it.
I ordered 1 menu 2 burgers
The 2 burgers, a cola and the fries were missing.
That doesn't work at all. Got ripped off for €7. Of course you have all the evidence to prove this +witnesses. Complaint email is definitely out, I definitely want my money back
