It was a family celebration, over 20 people. It was very good, very eager staff and a tasty buffet.

Although we live in the area, this was our first time at this restaurant, tempted by the fact that it's always crowded. Now we at least know why—we ordered black pudding and goulash with Thuringian dumplings, and they were truly delicious dishes prepared with high-quality ingredients. The service was also very friendly and treated our children wonderfully—lollipops, drinks, and other cutlery were included! The atmosphere was lovely. We'll gladly return!
Familiar and cozy atmosphere. There are very good portions, everyone was more than full and got their needed dose of real Thuringian dumplings, roulades, Rostbrätel and knuckle. The landlady and innkeeper are open and attentive. Everyone felt very comfortable. So we'll come back.
We had the great pleasure of visiting the Alter Bahnhof restaurant in Zell for the second time - and again it was an absolute pleasure!
I tried the goose with dumplings and red cabbage and it was simply incredibly delicious. Everything was excellently prepared, the flavors perfectly balanced – a true taste experience. My companion had the venison with spaetzle, and here too the quality was simply top. The ingredients tasted fresh and the preparation showed a lot of skill and passion.
We were also impressed by the house wine: full-bodied, perfectly tempered and an ideal accompaniment to the food.
A big compliment also goes to the service. The staff was consistently friendly, attentive and accommodating. The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy and inviting – perfect for an enjoyable evening.
The price-performance ratio is absolutely right here. The prices are more than justified for the quality of the food and the first-class service.
We will definitely come back and are already looking forward to our next visit! Many thanks to the entire team at the Old Train Station for this great experience!
We actually like going to Hatari. Unfortunately, things have gotten worse in recent years. You definitely have to have time/patience, but that's okay. But what really doesn't work is that the chef let out a burnt cordon bleu. It was really partly black and completely dried out inside. Something like that shouldn't happen. Instead of making a new one straight away, we waited to see whether we would let it go back... and the burger came out lukewarm. What a shame!
