After a long time, I finally had a delicious schnitzel again, at the Klosterkrug. The service was friendly and courteous, and the food was delicious, as always. See you soon :)

The beer garden is cozy. The food is good. The service is friendly. A nice stroll beforehand, followed by a good beer.

It used to be a great beer garden. Now the service has deteriorated considerably. Small snacks like bratwurst and pretzels are no longer available... what a pity.

We were there for Schnitzel Day. We've never eaten such a miserable schnitzel. It was carelessly slapped onto the plate. The fried potatoes were gray to black and soggy. The side salad, for €3.00, was a total disgrace. The only bright spot of the evening was the service: friendly, kind, and attentive. But that didn't make up for it. Once, never again.

Schnitzel day, Wednesday, is always great.

The staff was very friendly, and the service was impeccable. We had the venison burger, which was very good, and the chicken breast with noodles. Unfortunately, the chicken breast was made of pressed meat, which is completely unacceptable for me. I didn't know such a thing even existed anymore. In my opinion, pressed meat has no place in the restaurant industry.

Highly recommended; it's a lovely place to sit outside when the weather is nice. The food is good and served quickly.

After ages, I finally gave the Klosterkrug a chance again and went to the schnitzel day today! It was disgusting! Pure fat, zero flavor, zero seasoning. The fried potatoes looked brown to dark brown but were completely mushy! They were probably drowned in oil! Since I was hungry, I ate half, but even after adding salt, everything still tasted of oil! Even the €15 that cost me the whole experience was too expensive! The schnitzel was just greasy and not crispy at all! Simply a disgrace! Eating outside in this nice weather wasn't even possible! Only with self-service and immediate payment, you could have at least been allowed to drink outside! 🙄🤦🏼‍♀️ Sorry guys, but the atmosphere would actually be a gold mine, and we used to go there often from Goslar! We even loved having birthday parties there! But with that food, I won't be coming back and won't recommend it to anyone! 🤷🏼‍♀️ It's just not good! It's been three hours now and I still feel completely sick! The staff were very nice, though!

The food is very tasty, including a vegan dish that was very tasty. Very friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere. We stayed at the monastery hotel for a week and ate here several times, and we were always satisfied.

Waiting over an hour for the food. Tasted quite good, but the portion size was too small for the price. Why not offer more side dishes? They're skimping on frozen fries or fried potatoes, which would probably cost 50 cents more per portion if you bought them. A shame.

Trauriger Sommer Freitag Freitag Früher Nachmittag trotz Öffnung Klosterkrug draußen mit Bedienen, kein Biergarten. War immer sehr gerne hier zu Feierabend zur Bratwurst und Bier. Schade keine Tradition mehr. Für mich und Frau unnötige Fahrt gewesen. Im Flyer stand Biergarten 😜

It's a very pleasant place with a cozy atmosphere. The entire team is very friendly. After the delicious meal, the surrounding area invites you to take a long walk. Highly recommended!

The asparagus buffet is highly recommended. Delicious liqueurs from the in-house distillery are also available. It's also highly recommended for larger family celebrations. We'll be back!

We stopped in spontaneously for dinner today. We were pleasantly surprised; the salad plate and wild boar currywurst were very good. The dark beer is highly recommended. The espresso was also hot and delicious.

Beautiful beer garden (mostly self-service) and actually quite friendly staff. Due to staff shortages, the menu is currently limited. Salad, schnitzel, currywurst. Occasionally, that's enough, so when we visited the beer garden on Friday, we told the staff to come back for dinner on Saturday. When we tried to reserve a specific table for 6:30 p.m. today, they said they couldn't accept any more reservations. Why didn't they tell us this the evening before so we could have reserved a table then? Especially since we're guests of the monastery and there are no comparable restaurant alternatives within walking distance. Poor and customer-unfriendly organization. Hence only 2 stars.

We would have loved to eat at the Klosterkrug today on Schnitzel Day. On a beautiful summer evening, we wanted to eat outside. A friendly waitress informed us that unfortunately, due to a lack of staff, this wasn't possible today. We then left and discovered that the same waitress was serving guests outside. At a dinner on May 4th, 2025, I was served a practically unseasoned mini portion of pasta with tomato sauce in your dirty, unkempt restaurant (dusty window sills next to the dining tables, view from the table of the dilapidated garden area and the dingy kitchen entrance) for a completely exorbitant price of 17 EUR. My subsequent criticism of the "payment counter" (billing at the table was not possible) about the unseasoned, loveless food was acknowledged by the staff with a shrug of the shoulders and a meaningful look. Conclusion: GUARANTEED NEVER AGAIN!!

The employees were very friendly and accommodating. The food (schnitzel day) was excellent and the selection of drinks and prices were also great. We felt very comfortable and ended the evening with a walk in the wonderful surroundings.

Review for the Klosterkrug in Wöltingerode. We spent a wonderful evening as a family in the Klosterkrug and can recommend it without reservation! The food was excellent - from starters to desserts, everything was fresh, tasty and prepared with a lot of love. Particularly noteworthy is the variety on the menu, which really offers something for everyone – our children were also thrilled! The little ones could choose from a special children's menu, and the staff was extremely attentive, patient and child-friendly. Our dog was also given a warm welcome: a bowl of water was immediately brought and he was allowed to sit down and relax next to us. The atmosphere was pleasant, the service was extremely friendly, and you can tell that quality and hospitality are important here. A big compliment to the entire team – we will definitely be back! Conclusion: An ideal place for a family trip where everyone, from the little ones to the four-legged friends, feels completely at home.

Food disappointment. Starter quite good. The burger was a disaster. The meat was dry and tasted old, I couldn't eat it. After complaining, no apology from the waitress, let alone a small apology or compensation. It's a shame. Table reservation was not entered, only with luck could we get a table. It used to be really good here, but unfortunately that is a thing of the past. The food is just average, which also fits the prices. You had to look for the goulash among the whole mushrooms. There used to be really good cooks here. Plus the service is terrible. The heavily tattooed and flippant, inattentive waitress asks at every table whether you even need a drinks menu. "Nope- we brought our own drinks!" - are you crazy??? Diligence works differently! With us it was complete. left out, so I had to ask for it. And then there is only one per table, even with 4 people. In addition, the waitress speaks loudly with her singing, squawking voice so strong that even the guests in the next room can hear what they are drinking. A person like this either needs to be properly trained or not be part of the service at all. Unfortunately, good staff has become very rare these days, so if necessary you take what you can get. For us, the Klosterkrug is over for now. We know him from a more serious time and at a higher level.

We were a group of 10 people who had dinner here for 3 days in a row as hotel guests of the Klosterhotel Wöltingerode. Every dish looked delicious, tasted great and was prepared with great love using great, fresh ingredients. The young service team did a great job. Friendly, courteous, high praise.

As a guest at the monastery hotel, we couldn't find room for one person for the fourth time. The management seems overwhelmed with the planning and the organizational situation. It's good that there are good alternatives in Vienenburg.

We were there last weekend. The restaurant was well attended. The three of us got a table in the Jägerzimmer without a reservation. The food was very plentiful and tasty. This afternoon we wanted to take a coffee break outside with 5 people. We were politely turned away by a young employee because they first had to process the guests present. But we were able to reserve a table for 30/45 minutes later. After the agreed time we were turned away again because, according to them, the situation had still calmed down. However, upon request, we were allowed to sit on the beer tent sets and wait. After a while, a second employee was about to come and serve us when another employee asked her to do some other tasks first. When she was finished, she came to the beer tent set and brought us the cards. While we were trying to choose something, we heard this employee being "harassed" about why she brought us the cards when she was supposed to do other work first (which she did). We then spoke to the employee very angrily and told her that her behavior towards us and her colleague was really outrageous and that she no longer needed to serve us as guests. It turned out that the employee was the restaurant manager. As an explanation for her behavior, she explained that she had been working with the two colleagues for 10 hours, hadn't been able to take a break, hadn't even had time to have a drink and that she had to speak so clearly to her colleague because her German wasn't that good can speak. Furthermore, she didn't know that we had already been there and that her young colleague had put us off until a later date. I would also like to add that at the time of our visit, 7 tables outside and 2 tables inside were occupied and in addition to the 3 ladies, a gentleman was also helping to serve. Long story short. Poor organization and unfriendly and overwhelmed restaurant management. Thanks to the blonde employee who put in a lot of effort, was hospitable and did her job very conscientiously!!!

Great restaurant, even nicer the beer garden. I would like to go there more often if the service wasn't so terrible. This year I registered there twice with a larger group (10-12 people). The opinion was unanimous. Great ambience, nice rooms, even nicer beer garden but the service, because there are chronically too few staff, spoils everything. You wait ages before you can even order something. Then you wait a long time for the drinks to be delivered. Some people get their drinks while the others continue to wait and then have to be patient again until they get something to eat in stages. In the meantime the drinks are gone. When you reorder, it sometimes takes until after the meal for the drink to be brought out. Because of the service I probably won't go there again.

Prices too high for the average food. But it is delicious, the game dishes are recommended! One also wonders why a high hedge outside has to block the beautiful view behind it. All in all, I'm used to higher quality from monastery inns at these prices.

Es könnte so schön sein, tolle Location, schönes Wanderziel, leider gehört der Klosterkrug zur "Servicewüste": Im Biergarten sitzen bei bestem Wetter ca. 10 Gäste. Auf die Frage an die Servicekraft, ob man sich auch draußen hinsetzen kann, bejaht sie dieses. Dort sind weder Tische eingedeckt, noch gibt es Speisekarten. Tische sind nicht abgeräumt. Schirme sind nicht aufgespannt. Eine Bedienung erscheint mit Eisbechern nach ca. 15 Minuten, schaut um die Ecke und ruft, "Alter, was ist denn hier los" und geht wieder hinein....

Unfortunately, the map posted here on Google is out of date. There are fewer vegan options on the current menu. The vegan main course (vegetable curry) tastes like a frozen dish with a few seasonal vegetables added. Not recommendable. The waitresses are very nice, but you have to be patient until they come to you. As a result, I would come back again for a drink, but not for food.

We had dinner here with the family last week. Had reserved in advance. We got a table in the hunter's room and were alone in the room that day. It was quite good, so the kids could run around a little and didn't disturb the other guests. I'm disappointed with the menu, I was expecting game dishes... there was just a game burger. The menu is very manageable, but there are season tickets, such as the current asparagus menu. I chose the homemade sour meat with fried potatoes and remoulade sauce (16 €). The waiting time between ordering drinks, ordering food and being served seemed normal to me. Since we were a large group, we all had something to tell each other anyway. In between, a greeting came from the kitchen: warm baguette with herb dip, which later turned out to be my tartar sauce with the sour meat. Was delicious. About my meal: It was good, nothing special... fried potatoes were crispy, tartar sauce was creamy, sour meat was tender and a fresh side salad. Price-performance fits here. For the children there was, among other things, pasta in tomato sauce with sausage ragout. The noodles are huge spiral noodles and absolutely delicious... unfortunately they are not available for adults. The staff was very nice and tried hard. If you had any questions about the food, information was provided, when you ordered roast beef (as the main course) you were informed that the meat would be served cold, and there was children's cutlery for the kids. But I had to pass on dessert, which only started at €9 (for warm chocolate cake). I think that's overpriced. We had a nice afternoon. Thanks

**Very disappointing!** I have rarely experienced such poor service as in this restaurant. After we arrived, we had to wait for over half an hour before anyone even paid attention to us. The waiters walked past us several times without even looking at us. When we were finally able to place our order, it took another eternity for the drinks to arrive. But that wasn't enough: When we wanted to pay, the same game repeated itself. We were simply ignored and it took far too long until we finally received our bill. Overall a very disappointing experience. If you value good service, I cannot recommend this restaurant at all.

The food was delicious, as always when we were there. The service was very friendly, even though they were just running because there was so much going on. They couldn't clear the plates straight away. But they gave it their all and that's what counts! We'd love to come back.

The confirmed reserved table was not free. The lunch orders were taken after about 25 minutes. The food wasn't worth the money. The fish is fried to death. Add salt to the risotto. The pasta sauce for the pasta is rather bland and thin “soup”. The tarte flambée was “mushy” and soggy. It's a shame about the time and money.

We were passing through the wonderful monastery hotel and then ate at the Klosterkrug. Great service and quick process - very friendly!!!!! The Wild Burger was our choice (21+€) - twice! We like good burgers and I like paying a lot for good food. A baked pita roll with a dry meat paddy, a MINI tomato slice - hardly any sauce, everything was rather very dry. Neither of us finished! Disappointing! Maybe the operator will take the criticism to heart and conjure up a good brioch roll with a juicy homemade paddy for €21, put a delicious BBQ sauce on it, a few braised onions/tomatoes/lettuce... and then there's applause!!!! A good burger can be mastered! I'm writing this because it's currently considered good practice in the catering industry to adjust the price screw properly (because of electricity/purchasing/staff/and the Greens). But then the quality also has to be right! The burger doesn't hold up at all, we didn't have any other food! Good location, great staff!

We went there yesterday for Mother's Day and the buffet was really good, but I think they didn't expect so many guests to come. The waiters were completely overwhelmed, the drinks came late and when we asked about them we heard the man making the drinks shouting at the staff (and it turned out that this man was the restaurant manager). How are the waiters supposed to work properly when their manager is unable to do his job properly and yells at them even though it's his fault that drinks are served late to every table in the restaurant?!!

I'd like to give one point for the ambience, but unfortunately that's about it. If you know that it's Father's Day (holiday) and that the weather is terrible, then you should simply increase the staff so that it's okay. And unfortunately it didn't work at all. I don't want to dwell on the topic any longer, because if you read the reviews, my little criticism is not an isolated case. So please - just plan and organize better. You can't tell guests to order your drinks at the drinks booth, while the waitress stalks out of the restaurant with full drink trays directly to a group of "men" who seem to have arrived 30 minutes later than us, but are served first - with Drinks that they could have gotten at the drinks booth? We sat outside unattended for 40 minutes, asked twice for an order and then happily left.

One star is actually too many. First of all, I would like to mention that we have been here many times, but I have never experienced such chaos as yesterday. Admittedly...it was a holiday and it was full but waiting over an hour for drinks is absurd. Not to mention the food. The tables were not cleared or wiped down. There was total chaos. Nobody knew what the other was doing. Drinks and food were booked to other tables. The trainee was not able to calculate correctly when collecting money. When you mentioned all this you didn't even get an apology. For me it's clear...NEVER AGAIN. It's actually a shame because the location and the beer garden actually invite you to linger.

Today, Friday, we were in the beautiful garden of the Klosterkrug. We've been there several times before, but today it was a total disaster. It took over an hour for the drinks to arrive after half an hour of insistence from us. The glasses and plates of the guests who had been there before were piled up at the neighboring tables. With the exception of one waitress, no one managed to take anything with them when they brought drinks. Then incorrect allocation of orders at the tables, double drinks that came and food that was distributed like it was at the bazaar. Sorry, on May 1st you should work organized. The food, well, schnitzel is also better in the Harz...
