Gasthaus Rustikal in Berlin

As always, it was very nice with you! Food delicious, service very nice and accommodating. Celebrated our mother's 94th birthday with you on April 30, 2025. Thank you to the team, we'll be happy to come back. Keep it up.

Yesterday we were at the Gasthaus Rustikal for the first time. It seems a little old at first. But it leaves nothing to be desired. Super loving and committed service and super delicious food. There was nothing to complain about. The lovely people who work there cater to your every wish. At the end there was a small dessert and a nightcap. Great restaurant, I can recommend it to everyone! :-)

The food was delicious, but we waited almost 45 min for our food. Waitress was very kind, but the service was simply just too slow ://

If you are visiting Berlin, it is a must to go here. Great home cooking and totally delicious and the price is really great.

Arrived in Berlin today, looked for a restaurant nearby and came across this one. Lucky. Completely satisfied. Schnitzels are actually made fresh. The sound from the kitchen can be heard. If you're nearby, hungry and like things "simple", this is the place for you. Good food at very fair prices with very friendly service. Absolute recommendation.

It was a family celebration, over 20 people. It was very good, very eager staff and a tasty buffet. Since I was a guest, I cannot provide any further information.

Spontaneously go out for dinner in the evening and get a seat without a reservation. It worked here. We were able to enjoy a delicious meal in a pleasant atmosphere, served by very friendly service.

If you want to eat German food, I definitely recommend this restaurant! All the dishes, including the garnishes, were delicious and the portions were ample. When we discovered today, not only the furnishings but also the inn were rustic. A journey into old German cuisine conjured up meatballs and a schnitzel on the pan. The taste of the food is reminiscent of dinner at grandma's. You could almost say that you tasted the same love and devotion. The Berlin dialect of the waitress topped off the whole experience. In terms of price, the rustic inn can keep up with other restaurants, but it is not for those on a budget. All in all, a successful experience, although it lacked the wow factor.

Every year at Christmas we pick up our goose legs from home ready to go. And this year you were perfect again! The meat was so tender and cooked to perfection that it was easy to pull off the bone with a fork! That's what you want. And the sauce... 🤤

I've eaten there many times, whether with family or friends. The food was always really good and the portions were always very generous. Last night, for the first time, I was very disappointed at how small the portion was. As always, I had the Berlin meatball pan. The meatballs were only half the size of their usual size, almost like mini meatballs. And the mushrooms were a bit really disappointing at the edge. And for the first time I only had half a fried egg on the meatball, which I didn't know before. The only thing that was normal in terms of portion were the fries. Instead of halving the portion, it might be better to raise the prices a little. We'll be back with the family after Christmas. If that happens again, we'll probably look for another restaurant in the future. The food still tastes very good, but unfortunately the portions are only half as large.

Rustic into rustic or: hardly any wish remains unfulfilled Location: The Gasthaus Rustikal is located in the east of Berlin on Liebenwalder Str. (pay attention: there are two of them in Berlin!) in a residential area in Hohenschönhausen. It is a bit off the main road. You can sit outside as well as inside. Parking spaces: In the evening around 5:30 p.m. it was no problem finding a parking space near the inn. There is no parking space management on site (2024), so you can still park here for free. The ambience: The "Rustikal" is a rustically furnished inn with lots of dark wood and walls decorated with murals. You sit very comfortably at the tables and immediately feel really comfortable. Although the furniture seems heavy, the guest is not overwhelmed because the wall and ceiling paintings show a landscape beautifully designed in a naive style. The menu: The menu is clearly structured and offers good German cuisine. The menu starts with the starters, continues with the main courses, moves on to dessert and ends with the drinks. Every pampered palate should find something in this diverse menu. Even the little ones have been taken into consideration, with a whole page dedicated solely to the children's wishes! The service: I don't get too excited about service. But this nice, friendly service is priceless! She herself took up the challenge of ordering a "Wianer Melange with aan Schlagobers" and "oanem Abflstrudl" with "Wiener Schmäh" and served a melange that was really delicious! No way: “It’s just coffee!” Yes, it's just a small thing, so you don't have to get so euphoric. But if the service is good along with the meal and the waitress goes out of their way to not only satisfy the guest but also make them feel welcome, then it's worth the euphoria. In this inn you have understood what “gastronomy” is all about! The food: I ordered a beef roulade with red cabbage and potatoes. And I felt like Anton Ego from the film Ratatouille, who, as the most feared restaurant critic, was only served ratatouille: it was like a piece of home! My wife ordered a schnitzel pan with mushrooms. The schnitzel was golden yellow, well beaten, delicately seasoned and tasted excellent. The "potato mash" (ree) was homemade, mother's way. The fried potatoes served were also tasty - not something to be taken for granted, as we sometimes had to learn from numerous restaurant visits. Everyone else at the table was also very happy with their food. The portion was sufficient. You felt full but not completely full. There was still room for a dessert. There was a warm apple strudel with ice cream and cream, plus the “Viennese melange with whipped cream” described above. Regardless of whether the kitchen made the apple strudel itself or not: it was also tasty, even though I *actually* don't like cinnamon. :) Despite the limited selection of ice cream (November!), the sundae served at the table was still a generous and appealing portion. The prices: The prices for the food remain moderate (2024). No dish exceeded the 25 euro mark. The roulade was 22.90 euros, the schnitzel pan with mushrooms in cream sauce was 18.90. Since we didn't pay ourselves (we were invited), we can only estimate the evening for two people: it was probably around 60 euros. Not too much for delicious food and excellent service! *Conclusion*: After many visits to restaurants, I am no longer so easily inspired. The demands increase with every good and outstanding inn. But Rustic has once again managed to raise this bar a little higher. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit if you want to eat well, because they understand the craft of gastronomy here.

As the name suggests, a beautifully rustic inn in the middle of the residential area of ​​Berlin's Hohenschönhausen district. Regional menu with original Berlin dishes at normal prices. All of the dishes we were served were tasty and served attractively. The only downside is that the waitress could perhaps have stopped by more often. (wink wink 😉) Whenever I'm in the area again, I'll be happy to stop by again.

Went to the restaurant to eat again and the service was still very good. I ate a small farmer's breakfast, which was again very good. Mine had pike perch and was slightly irritated because the pike perch was breaded. He only knows pike perch fried on the skin. Unfortunately, the breading is not good for the zander. We used to be regular guests at Rustikal and were always very satisfied. Unfortunately the quality has deteriorated significantly. The last few visits, the food wasn't as tasty as it was back then. The asparagus was overcooked, the hollandaise was from a tetra pack and it was also noticeable that the fried potatoes were no longer fresh. The serving of the food was also not as nice as usual, but rather on a white plate with a tablespoon of carrot salad and coleslaw. The delicious blackcurrant schnapps was not included in the bill as usual.

The dark wood paneling is rustic, but looks a bit gloomy. Otherwise everything is great.

A cozy, interestingly furnished inn. The paneling is reminiscent of old inns. The hospitality was very good and very friendly. There is a small deduction when eating because the onions on the fried potatoes were too dark (black). Otherwise very tasty and highly recommended! Bon appetit!

Berliner Küche mit Berliner Schnauze

Wir hatten uns sehr am 26.12.23, in Erwartung der Qualität und des Geschacks vom vergangenem Jahr 2022, gefreut. Leider war die Gänsekeule trocken und die Soße hat überhaupt nicht geschmeckt. Auch wie das Essen angerichtet war, kein Vergleich zum vorigem Jahr. Mein Partner hatte die Rinderroulade, die auch voriges Jahr hervorragend war, und auch da konnte man(n) die Füllung mit der Lupe suchen und die Soße hat auch nicht nach Rouladen geschmeckt. Leider, weil sind gerne bei euch eingekehrt.??? Woran liegt es dass die Qualität und der Geschmack so nachgelassen hat?? Neuer Koch? Anderes Konzept?? Sparmasnahmen??( 2022 Gänsekeule 35,00 € 2023 29,90€)? SCHADE

Kleines gemütliches Restaurant. Aber wenn man bedenkt, das noch 7% MwSt fällig waren, und man jetzt schon 30€ für eine Gänsebrust bezahlt, dann will man gar nicht an das nächste Jahr denken, wenn sich die MwSt auf 19% erhöht!

Das Ambiente ist rustikal, durch die Helligkeit geht aber viel Charme verloren. Hatten Bouletten bestellt, welche erst nach über 70 Minuten kamen und dann leider sehr stark nach Senf geschmeckt haben.

Es war sehr schön Bedienung war nett und freundlich essen hat sehr gut geschmeckt und durch den 1 Tisch reservieren für 1 Std würde unser Jahrestag gerretet. Danke an Gasthaus rustikl

Leckeres Essen und schönes Ambiente

Kurz und gut das Essen war einfach genial. Einfache Deutsche küche perfekt zubereitet. Wir kommen wieder!!!!!

Gute " Hausmannskost". Die Dame, die bedient, könnte etwas verbindlicher sein....da wir schon viele Mal einkehrten, können wir wirklich sagen, dass es etwas gastfreundlicher zugehen könnte. Es wird weder gefragt, ob es geschmeckt hat, noch ob weitere Wünsche bestehen - und man bedankt sich auch nicht bei einem guten Trinkgeld. Das nur so am Rande, doch es beeinflusst einen Besuch und ist nicht so schön. Aber: Das Essen schmeckt und der Gastraum entspricht von der Einrichtung her seinem Namen: Rustikal. Kein Schickimicki sondern Ursprünglichkeit mit netter Dekoration und hübschen gemalten Wandmotiven. Die Preise sind angemessen. Uns gefällt es im Rustikal und deshalb werden wir trotz der Kritik auch wieder einkehren.

War eine sehr positive Überraschung, die Buletten Gerichte sind der Hammer, schöne Berliner Hausmannskost, klassisch gewürzt, die Soße nicht künstlich zubereitet, fruchtig und natürlich. Die Beilage (Kartoffel Püree) war ebenfalls sehr gut. Die vegane Alternative (Blumenkohl Käse Medaillon) ist ebenfalls sehr zu empfehlen, sowie die Portionsmenge für den Preis Unschlagbar ist. Die Servicekräfte waren auch sehr freundlich, entspannt und nicht gestresst. Das Gasthaus ist ist auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen.

Es war ein ein sehr schöner Abend, das Essen war hervorragend und die Bedienung Weltklasse. Danke . Wir werden wieder kommen .

Wunderbares Ambiente Bedienung einfach nur super Essen vom feinsten Portionen genau richtig Unsere Familie freut sich auf ein Wiedersehen

Wir waren zum Familienessen da, wie des öfteren mal. Wir waren allesamt begeistert, das Essen ist immer wieder top ( Kompliment an die Küche), Portionen groß und vom Preis her sehr gut. Hier werden die Schnitzel noch frisch gekloppt, man hört es direkt. Das Personal ist freundlich und flink. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Wir sind aus dem Schwarzwald für ein paar Tage in Berlin....waren dort essen und wir können sagen omg ein Traum, das Essen wie bei Oma, soooooo lecker, sehr gemütlich und die Bedienung eine richtig nette freundliche Berlinerin einfach megaaaaa....
