Ratskeller Saarbrücken in Saarbrücken

A relatively memorable evening. I spontaneously went to the Ratskeller with a language learning group. After we were seated and 6 of our group of about 15 didn't order anything immediately, we were forced by the waiter to order because otherwise we would have to leave the restaurant immediately. The restaurant may have been one of them It was third full and the mood was rather calm. The situation then prompted another waiter to come over and apologize for the waiter's behavior (thanks for that, by the way). I know planning security with large groups is one thing, but if you plan to come more or less regularly and also ensure sales, the behavior is more than questionable. We complained on site and I would like the waiter's behavior to be dealt with internally. For me, after two previous incidents (sometimes with the same waiter), it was definitely my last visit to the Ratskeller. I can also advise large groups and regulars' meetings not to use the Ratskeller as a meeting point. Such behavior shows that the Ratskeller is not interested in you. P.S. The most ironic thing was that after the whole story it took me about 15 minutes and three (!) different cellars to be able to pay.

Had our Christmas party there. After everyone had ordered alcohol and later coffee etc., some wanted a simple glass of tap water. The waitress is not allowed to serve it, the boss forbids it. PATHETIC!!! And bitter aftertaste for our food…

Highly recommended to enjoy German food

Ambiance and service very good. Unfortunately the children's schnitzels were very dry, even the children said that they were the worst schnitzels so far. My lamb and the sauce were okay, nothing more. The consistency of the beetroot dumplings was not optimal and the taste was rather neutral.

The Ratskeller immediately impressed me with its cozy, rustic atmosphere. The restaurant exudes a warm atmosphere that invites you to linger. The menu is clearly laid out and offers a good selection of classic dishes. I was particularly pleasantly surprised by the vegetarian and vegan options - everyone will find something here. The quality of the food is excellent and the service is friendly and attentive. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fair. I can only highly recommend the restaurant! See you next time.

The poor waiter is told by the boss that his food tastes good, after all, 40 people have already ordered the dish today. If you give the food back to the waiter because it doesn't taste good, the sauce is scraped down and seasoned with herbs that taste absolutely disgusting. Instead of doing something to accommodate you, you are portrayed as a liar. There were 20 of us and there were definitely several of us who didn't like their food!

We didn't eat but "just" drank cocktails. They were very tasty.

Eating a catastrophe Steak totally tough fried potatoes burnt and totally greasy you couldn't eat it went back. My aperol was totally watered down so much it had no taste. Plus it was really expensive and you had to pay extra for everything. Never again

Quite a long wait, average burger (good but nothing crazy), and above all no sauce for the fries... a small pot finished very quickly.... barbecue sauce obligatory... the service lacks follow-up to ask what We may need someone to come from the beginning to the end of the meal. Five of us had dinner on Sunday at 7 p.m. First of all, we waited at least half an hour for the drinks. Then another hour for our food. My roulade with dumplings was completely ruined and the dumplings were rock hard. Unfortunately I couldn't eat any of it. As compensation, I got a coffee on the house. Sorry, unfortunately it's not possible at these prices!! Since I unfortunately can't respond to your answer, here's a quick one...as 1. I hadn't even started to try the food when someone came by and just said if everything was ok!! 2. My plate wasn't empty because then I wouldn't have had any reason to complain 3. For the price that the dish cost, something other than a coffee would have been appropriate. We left enough money!! But well, not everyone is capable of criticism, it's a shame actually I know service differently!

Food, service and ambience (vaulted cellar) were great. We decided spontaneously and therefore only got a place with lounge chairs which we found to be semi-comfortable for eating. There was also a company there that day, which is why it felt quite loud, understandably. We would still come back because everything else was fine.

It's a good restaurant. The atmosphere inside is a bit cozy and warm. You can sit outside on a terrace but it will get cold in the evenings. The waiters are friendly and our food was brought fast. It tasted good, only complaint is that ketchup costs extra 60ct. I also had a homemade cherry Minze Limonade which tasted good but had a lot of ice. All in all good but also a few things to improve

Cocktails taste like cocktails in places where you have no idea how they are made: crushed ice, questionable quality of ingredients, sticky sweet. Overpriced for the quality offered. The service staff cannot be blamed personally, but the QM is even worse than the location (although this may be intentional in the latter case). During our stay, which was shorter than planned, two tarte flambées were burned; we ended up having to wait at the bar because none of the bartenders present and currently unemployed could issue a bill...we would welcome one there in the immediate future to be able to visit other restaurants, the place has potential after all.

Went with my office colleagues to experience a semi-final from the UEFA and it was great service and atmosphere. Hamburgers were really tasty.

Since we weren't really successful elsewhere without a reservation, we happened to stop here. Huge brewery, great atmosphere. Food was delicious and came quickly! Staff very friendly. Full recommendation.

Here we get full marks for food, service, ambience and the great cocktails! The two of us were in the Ratskeller on a Sunday evening. The service was courteous, relaxed and very nice. The food was very good and the prices were reasonable. The cocktails are very good and moderately priced. If we are in Saarbrücken again, we will definitely go to the Ratskeller again and to the cocktail happy hour from 10 p.m. 😋.

A very beautiful and modern Ratskeller with very good food...especially great and unusual vegetarian dishes 😋 the historical ambience is a successful mix with modern aspects. The service was very quick and friendly 👍👍👍we felt very comfortable!

Saturday, May 11, 24 We reserved a table for 4 people for 7 p.m. We can only confirm all the positive reviews from our predecessors! We felt at home straight away! The food is really delicious. This is not a brusque old gentlemen's meeting place, but a great location with a wonderful flair! We are glad that the 'Gute Stube' in Saarbrücken is in such good hands! We'd love to come back!

Very nice restaurant and super friendly staff. Right at the beginning when we spontaneously came to the Ratskeller today, we were informed that it would take longer for food to arrive because the store was really full and yet the food arrived just 30 minutes after ordering, which was incredibly tasty and also of top quality. Nice, manageable menu (it's better to have a small menu with good quality food than a completely overcrowded menu because the quality always suffers). Drinks were great, especially my wife really enjoyed the homemade iced tea and lemonade. Can highly recommend the restaurant and we will definitely come back more often in the future.

Never had to wait so long for a schnitzel. Restaurant wasn't full, about a handful of customers and the food only came to our table after an hour. As if the long wait wasn't enough, I got food poisoning because the mushrooms weren't cooked through. I vomited my soul out. Cannot recommend this restaurant more highly. Stay away from the barf cellar 🤮🤮🤮

We've been waiting 50-60 minutes for the food... It's not even half full here... There's no excuse for that. Edit after the "owner" comment: If you're understaffed, you don't let so many people into a restaurant if you know full well that you won't be able to serve them in a normal time. Either you don't know anything about gastronomy, or money is more important here than customer satisfaction. Sad.

Atypical restaurant with its beautiful vaults and stone walls. The prices are a little more expensive than in other restaurants but the food is good and in good quantity. A place to discover or re-discover if you are passing through Saarbrücken.

Very nice restaurant with a rustic cellar atmosphere. The service staff very friendly. The food was very tasty and the portion was big enough. Fairly priced. The bottom line: recommended, if the 2 points are improved, then the word “special” is added 4 stars reason: 1. because the main course came 40 minutes after the starter (we wanted to ask after 30 minutes because the service person had just informed us that she had asked in the kitchen) 2. the smell in the men's toilet was very unpleasant

I have to say straight away that we haven't had such nice and friendly service in a long time as we did that evening. According to the statement, the young man is still in training. Combined with the ambience, you felt comfortable. The food was very tasty throughout, although the side salad still has room for improvement. Nevertheless, I would come back at any time and recommend this restaurant with a clear conscience.

Totally disorganized service...we had to wait forever for the drinks Ordered the schnitzel (it was more of a children's portion) a whole schnitzel and half of it cut in half! A small handful of fries...how are you supposed to get full... My “venison goulash” where I had to look for the pieces of meat was cold.. It was the first and last time we left our money there

Ratskeller consistently provides excellent service and has a charming atmosphere. The preservation of the stone arch architecture adds a unique touch to the place. The staff is exceptionally friendly, and they are proficient in English, in addition to German, making the experience even more welcoming.

Leider lief zum wiederholten Male nicht alles rund. Dem Geschäftsinhaber habe ich darauf hin eine Email gesendet auf die ich nie eine Antwort bekommen habe. Die Mitarbeiter sind bemüht und freundlich. Die Kommunikation zwischen Küche und Servicepersonal scheint nicht zu stimmen. Anders kann man das Desaster nicht erklären. Das Essen ist Geschmacklich sehr gut wenn auch die Portionen beim Fleisch regelmässig etwas klein geraten. Um etwas zum Trinken zu bekommen muss man den Servicestützpunkt aufsuchen und bestellen. Sitzt man etwas abseits der Menge wird man schnell vergessen und Vorspeisen und Hauotgänge werden wild durcheinander gebracht. Das Ambiente ist soweit ok jedoch würde ich es als ,,abgenutzt" bezeichnen. So löst sich das Kunstleder der Sitzgelegenheiten in fetzen ab und wenn etwas so aussieht, kann es so sauber sein wie es will, es sieht trotzdem schlotzig aus.

Cadre très agréable dans une cave voutée magnifique. Cuisine traditionnelle délicieuse et plats copieux aux tarifs corrects. Service agréable mais 2 petits bémols : On n'a pas eu de dessert parce qu'on ne nous a pas informés que la cuisine fermait (donc petite déception en fin de repas, ils auraient pu venir quand nous mangions nous prévenir et nous demander quand il était encore temps si vous voulions des desserts) et au moment du paiement car impossible de régler par carte bancaire de manière individuelle alors que nous étions une grande tablée. Il fallait soit qu'une personne règle par cb pour tout le monde soit régler en espèce. Mais bon globalement c'était sympa, on y retournera très certainement!

Saarbrücken is een kleine charmante stad, gezellige Kerstsfeer 🎄🎁 Ratskeller biedt een originele setting met de ronde gewelven. Eten is geen hoogvlieger maar wel goede Duitse keuken.

Sehr gutes Essen, sehr freundliches Personal

Rustikales großes Lokal mit nettem Personal. Die Karte ist Recht übersichtlich, aber es gibt von allem etwa. Die Portionen sind ok. Aber das was auf dem Teller ist, ist nicht bei jedem Gericht, was man erwartet. Der Töpfchenteller mit Bauernbrot wurde mit hellem und körnigem Flute gereicht. Also alles andere als Bauernbrot. Das Schnitzel mit Pommes kommt ohne Soße und der Ketchup kostet extra und wird in kleinen Tüten wie bei MC Donalds serviert. Getränke wurden in der ersten Tour sehr schnell gebracht. Danach hat es sehr lang gedauert, bis jemand nochmal Interesse an einer Bestellung gezeigt hat. Preislich war alles im mittelpreisigem Segment. Sehr unschön hingegen, waren die Toiletten. Rosa Licht im Vorraum, gestapelte Möbel und alles sehr schmutzig. War so gar nicht passend zum Gastraum. Es war OK hier zu sein, aber ein zweites Mal, würde ich nicht hinkommen.

Wir waren gestern Abend spontan ohne Reservierung im Ratskeller. Die Gewölbedecke schafft eine schöne Atmosphäre. Das Essen hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt. Die Speisen würde ich als gut bürgerliche Küche bewerten, die Getränkekarte ist sehr umfangreich und lädt zum längeren Verweilen ein. Besonders gefallen hat mir die Freundlichkeit des Personal, die junge rothaarige Dame, die uns bedient hat, war sehr höflich und aufmerksam, kam öfters an den Tisch um zu fragen, ob alles OK ist oder wir noch etwas möchten. Leider heutzutage nicht mehr selbstverständlich! Wenn es nicht so weit zu fahren wäre, würde es sicher zu einer meiner Lieblingslocations werden. Aber wir kommen auf jeden Fall mal wieder vorbei. Riesiger Laden, Empfang , Service prima. Laden stylisch urig. Essen(Schnitzel Jägerart) hervorragend. Karte klein, was ja aber nicht schlecht sein muss. Einziges Manko: Toiletten und weg dorthin könnten gepflegter/sauberer sein. Dennoch eine Empfehlung

Un "QG" depuis plusieurs années pour se retrouver autour de bons cocktails (mention spéciale au Captain Hurricane) et d'une Schnitzle ! Le service est plutôt rapide et les serveurs sont tous très gentils et j'insiste sur ce point ! Certains en voyant que nous sommes français essaient même d'échanger en français avec nous. En somme un bon bar restaurant avec un service au top !

Didn't like the food at all. Not a good place if you are vegetarian or vegan. If you love spicy food, Indian, middle eastern or oriental cuisine, this is not the place for you to eat. Ambience wise really good. Can't comment about drinks as I don't drink.

L’ambiance , acceuil très sympa,j ‘ ai pris le steack pour les vrais hommes 400g , 27,90€ plus l accompagnement faut compter au moins 4 € en supplément donc plus de 30€ , a ce prix on s’attend a une belle viande , bah pas du tout , une viande tellement nerveuse que j’arrivais même pas a la couper , un comble pour une viande aussi chère au cora je prends des onglets pour 5 personnes et je paye 31 € donc je suis reparti deçu et mon portemonnaie aussi , les légumes grillée par contre eux était tres tres bon . Enfin bref un soirée assez mitigé qui ne mérite pas plus d’étoile et surement pas une deuxieme visite
