A train station restaurant. But not at the station. Decorated with love and commemoration of the past. The food was okay. There are "small" portions (more for women) and large = XXL portions. That's pretty decent. I didn't really like the ambiance, because it felt like sitting in a waiting room. When the place is full, it gets quite noisy. The service was attentive, but sometimes a bit chaotic.

We only stopped for a drink. Unfortunately, we were 10 minutes late and lunchtime was over, so we couldn't eat anything. The sausage salad looked very tasty, by the way. The waitress came and slammed the drinks menus on our table with a face like she'd been through 10 days of rain. Not a kind word, not a smile; it couldn't have been more unfriendly. The manager came to pay, I think she was definitely friendlier, but the corpulent waitress was completely unacceptable, so we didn't leave a tip. What a shame.

A quaint and cozy restaurant, great service, but the steak was unfortunately very tough. The schnitzel was perfect.

We had venison roast there for lunch, accompanied by a glass of dry Bahnhofsschoppen (train station beer). Both were excellent and highly recommended. The venison roast was also available as a senior citizen's portion, which we considered quite large. The restaurant is open throughout the day, but the kitchen is only open until 2:00 p.m. and then from 5:30 p.m. We took six bottles of the dry Bahnhofsschoppen (train station beer) home with us at the takeaway price as a farewell gift.

Unfortunately, neither the owner nor the staff were particularly polite, and the food wasn't particularly good either.

I was here today around 8 p.m. and was really looking forward to the delicious meatloaf with peppercorn sauce and a glass or two of Rotling (a type of red wine). But unfortunately, things turned out differently. The friendly young woman at the entrance told me there was no room (I was alone with my dog, who, by the way, doesn't sit on a chair or bench in a restaurant). There were a few tables free inside, and I replied that I could sit inside too. She then kindly informed me that, as a group of several people was coming to eat, she had instructions not to let anyone else in (what a message). Perhaps it will work if I come with a few more people sometime. Until then, goodbye. Right?

I was able to sit down right away at 11:30 a.m. without a reservation. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food was very good; I recommend the salmon steak with pesto pasta. I also thought the price was reasonable. Thank you very much!

Even though we didn't have a reservation and stumbled upon this place more by chance, we were given a very warm welcome and a table was ready. Prices were reasonable, the place was very clean, and the service was very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!

The food was good. Generous portions. The schnitzels (there were two on one plate) were okay. The Hacksteak is a great meatball with a whopper of sauce. I would have preferred less and not the fries. I personally don't like it. Had I known beforehand, I could have mentioned that. A nice location by the water, and a stroll through the village behind it is also definitely enjoyable with all those typical buildings. Furthermore, the service was friendly and prompt.

Nice outdoor seating area with a gigantic umbrella, perfect for rainy days. Views overlooking the Mosel river. The wine was superb! I ordered the smoked trout with radish sauce and bread and butter, very good. The other two people at my table ordered the steak and fries. Both were happy with the flavor of the steak, but said it was rare and too chewy. The young man waiting on us was very friendly and attentive. Edited: came back again and the food was delicious. Service still very friendly. Also, was able to get a flight of wine, chose 3-4 wines with a sample of each. Nice way to try a few different types.

We managed to get a seat without a reservation. From our outdoor table, we had a fantastic view of the Moselle. The food was fresh and delicious. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The salt dressing wasn't quite to our taste, but the salad was fresh and crisp. Everything was fantastic!

We had not made a reservation, but there was still a table available for us. Everything went quite smoothly, no long waiting times. The service was friendly but a bit distant. The food itself was a bit disappointing. The schnitzels were quite thick, so one of them was not cooked properly. This one still looked completely red inside. The rest was well cooked but because it was so thick it was a bit tough. The pepper sauce was tasty but I have had better. My partner had a schnitzel with mushrooms, the mushrooms were not fresh and clearly came from a can. The fries looked like McDonald's fries. It wasn't very cheap either. When we wanted to pay, we went to the counter ourselves because we didn't see anyone from the service. It was okay, but you can get better food for less money elsewhere!

Great food, salad very fresh with great dressing. The menu is manageable but focuses on quality! The view was fantastic, the service was friendly, the portions were large and the price was absolutely justified. Unreserved recommendation if you are looking for German home cooking! We had the great pleasure of visiting the Alter Bahnhof restaurant in Zell for the second time - and again it was an absolute pleasure! I tried the goose with dumplings and red cabbage and it was simply incredibly delicious. Everything was excellently prepared, the flavors perfectly balanced – a true taste experience. My companion had the venison with spaetzle, and here too the quality was simply top. The ingredients tasted fresh and the preparation showed a lot of skill and passion. We were also impressed by the house wine: full-bodied, perfectly tempered and an ideal accompaniment to the food. A big compliment also goes to the service. The staff was consistently friendly, attentive and accommodating. The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy and inviting – perfect for an enjoyable evening. The price-performance ratio is absolutely right here. The prices are more than justified for the quality of the food and the first-class service. We will definitely come back and are already looking forward to our next visit! Many thanks to the entire team at the Old Train Station for this great experience!

Nice place to eat. Friendly staff, but also a bit impatient (I think she didn't sense that very well). Food was traditional German. Pretty straight forward, but tasty. It was striking that they had no desserts. The acoustics inside are moderate. If you can sit outside, you have a beautiful view. A decent address for a simply good bite.

You sit comfortably in the old train station and the food is very tasty, along with a delicious red peach liqueur.

Very nice and fitting atmosphere for the train station. The “older” waitress is great, attentive and very friendly. The “younger one” does her job. The food (pasta with salmon in basil cream sauce and schnitzel with mushroom cream sauce) was very, very tasty and really large portions. The price ratio is absolutely right. It's a shame that quite a lot of cream was used, which makes the food a bit flat. We would go back at any time!

Great, we come to Zell every year and the old train station is a must visit. The schnitzels are highly recommended, and the little wine tasting afterwards is also nice. Delicious food, service is good and sitting outside is much nicer than inside. Reservation strongly recommended.

We were here twice. On the first evening without a reservation, we were lucky and got the last free table. Reservation may be advisable. Food very tasty, very good wine, nice ambience and super nice staff. Recommended.

We wanted to have a seat for 4 people outside at the table that was reserved for 5:30 p.m. but it wasn't until 6:30 p.m. when we asked, the answer was yes, people could sit inside if the weather was good you could sit outside again. That was for us Unacceptable either inside or outside so that's not possible at all

Best schnitzel ever. 2 large pieces of meat, not flattened, super juicy, tender and fried in clarified butter. Clearly enough to fill you up. Incl. 1 glass of wine only 24 euros. In addition, very friendly service and a view of the Moselle. The parking spaces here on the banks of the Moselle are all free.

Der Aussenbereich war in Ordnung. Bei Nachfrage ob die Schnitzel in der Pfanne oder der Fritteuse gebraten sind wurde mir ein Vortrag über die Zubereitung gehalten, jedes Schnitzel wird in neuen Öl in der Pfanne gebraten. Mein bestelltes Schnitzel war dermaßen Öllastig sodass ich die Panade nicht essen konnte.

We arrived at the Old Train Station without a reservation. There wasn't a free table outside, so we sat inside and asked to be moved if an outdoor table became available. All the service staff were super friendly and after a short time we were asked outside, for which we were very grateful. Our schnitzels were excellent - very tender and very plentiful. Despite being hungry, it was almost impossible to eat the normal portion. We would have returned there the next day, but unfortunately it was a rest day.

Great location, you sit in the front row. The chef offers regional dishes. Price/performance not expensive. Not only visited by tourists. I like it.

Ordered Rinderhuftsteak for 28 euros, where there were too many tendons and therefore inedible, which was reported to the waitress without compensation as a result. Therefore left 1/3 steak and cannot be recommended as a place to eat!

Het eten was smakeloos, een hertenbiefstuk dat volledig grijs was gebakken met een zoute saus. Wat een teleurstelling! Ook de mensen die naast ons zaten vonden het eten niet lekker. Zij waren Duitsers, wij Nederlanders. Wat jammer van onze laatste avond aan de Moezel..

Really lovely historic place, to stop by and enjoy the local wines and some delicious food. Servers were really friendly and it is possible to pay by card. Veggie options are also present, with a varied menu that has something for everybody. Prices are moderate, fitting to the quality of the food.

My girlfriend had to go to the bathroom, so I chose a table alone. Not much later the owner came to me and pointed to a sign that the place is for 2 people without saying hello/good day. When I said my girlfriend was on the toilet it was okay. We ordered a lasagna and a schnitzel but both were of mediocre quality. The lasagna looked like it had already been reheated 3 times, the schnitzel looked better but you could taste that the sauce was not homemade + the schnitzel was very tough.

Stopped by by chance, well attended, when we asked we were offered a table for 4 people, luckily, we were told that it would take a while to get the food as the restaurant was quite full, we thought that was very good and wasn't a problem , Employee very friendly, food was very tasty, again at any time

Nice restaurant, great food and a really great atmosphere. Everything has a real train station atmosphere :) Unfortunately there are only a few seats inside. So we can hope for good weather.
