Ha! This place! If you are looking for a Mosel glory days restaurant, this is the place. We loved it, as soon as we walked in. It was winter. So we pretty much had the place to ourselves and honey, there are not a lot of options, but this place was just what we needed. We were cold and wet and this place was old and warm with wooden decor and a schnitzel as big as an Olympic frisbee! It's not too far off the beaten path and it certainly is ideal for the little'uns and even doggos. It's one of the few places that has it's own parking lot. It's far from fancy cuisine. More like oma style, which is totally our style. Down home cooking. We'll definitely be going back. I don't recall the details of the menu. The wine must have been pretty good. Wink! Wink! Very typical German fare as far as I remember, but perhaps slightly limited in variety, but don't hold me to that.

The schnitzel was delicious, the fries nice and crispy. The salad that came with it was a can of sad stuff on a plate. A real old-fashioned German restaurant.

We've been there several times, and everything we've tried has been very good. The schnitzels are fantastic, and in the fall, the venison is highly recommended. The portions are more than ample, and the service is excellent. The prices are perfectly reasonable. Next time, we'll try the schnitzel platter for two.

Because of the relatively good reviews, we stopped here during our vacation on the Moselle. Our first impression was of a landlady smoking outside the door. Inside, we were greeted by a very old-fashioned, but clean, ambiance in rustic oak and pop music. The schnitzel with fries and salad we ordered arrived promptly, but were absolutely nothing special, and the sauce was extremely limited, so half of the fries had to be eaten dry. Overall, I would describe the portions as just about adequate. My curry sauce, garnished with fruit according to the menu, contained two halves of grapes, half a tomato, and a slice of olive. The main reason we wouldn't visit this restaurant again, however, is partly the landlady's truly disgustingly long, brown-stained fingernails, which she also uses to serve food, and the intense lingering stale cigarette smoke, as she takes every opportunity to have a quick smoke outside the door. Every plate, every drink served, is accompanied by a rush of nicotine. The food could have been so good.

We ate at the Bürgerhof twice, and it was delicious both times. My favorite was the Mosel schnitzel!! TOP Especially because the Bürgerhof is reminiscent of the old days and has a retro decor, we thought it was fantastic! And above all, it was very clean.

Perfect for down-to-earth people who like home-cooked food. Plenty, good, and affordable. I think it's great.

Het is een leuk plekje, en je kan er voor een goede prijs eten. Alleen is pinnen helaas niet mogelijk omdat het bereik (mobiel) niet goed is. Ik zou zeggen dan maar internet via de vaste lijn. Ik vond het eten opzich wel okay, alleen gebruiken ze erg veel zout en dat proef je gelijk als je al jaren zelf geen zout gebruikt!

We ate there twice during our short break. We had a schnitzel dish each time. I have to say, it was simply delicious. The accompanying sauces were top-notch. The value for money was simply top-notch! The tomato soup and garlic toast were also very tasty. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes a traditional inn like this. The service was okay, but it's always different on your own, and I have a lot of respect for that. I highly recommend it! We'll be back next year!

I admit, the restaurant is a bit dated...but that's precisely what gives it its charm! Everything is clean and well-maintained. The food was simply AMAZING. We all had almond schnitzel with asparagus and croquettes, and it was absolutely delicious. I have to say, the prices were very, very reasonable. €15.80—I haven't seen such prices for such a delicious and plentiful meal in ages. The Bürgerstube restaurant is my absolute recommendation. TOP!!!

The restaurant is located in Merl. It serves good, home-style food. The prices are perfectly reasonable. It's filling, and the food is delicious. Overpriced in the larger towns.

This was the tastiest schnitzel we ate during our holiday! These are beaten on the spot. The interior is old-fashioned, but that makes it authentic and cozy. The service was also very friendly. We had a schnitzel with mushrooms and one with pepper sauce, both very tasty, as well as the fries that came with it. We thought the salad was a little less, but that is personal for everyone. The wine was also tasty. This business is quietly located and has parking in front of the door. Be careful: you can only pay with cash here. Definitely recommended if you're staying in the area!

We discovered the restaurant by chance and went there for dinner. The boss is super nice and was very attentive. The drinks and the food were at the table very quickly. The food was very tasty and the portions were really sufficient. My husband, as a meat eater, of course had a lot more choice, whereas me, as a vegetarian, only had one dish on the menu. But I knew that beforehand, so it was completely fine 🙂 Price/performance was great. The furnishings are a bit old but everything was clean and nicely decorated. If we're in the area again, we'll definitely come back.

I was back today after almost 10 years. The “Swiss Schnitzel” (filled with Camembert) is to die for. The price/performance ratio is TOP. I ordered a table again for next Sunday.

The restaurant is somewhat reminiscent of the 90s. The radish art on the plate enhances it a bit. “Modern” Cola from Hamburg is offered, but the rest is “old”. The schnitzel is pounded well in the kitchen and it tastes good too! The pepper schnitzel becomes a Madagascar schnitzel because a pepperoni is added. Overall it's ok and you get delicious food. Attention, cash only.

Very cozy restaurant. A bit remote, but well attended. About the food; 1. Extremely tasty onion soup, well seasoned. 2. Beef broth with a lot of strength 3. Nicely presented garlic toast. 4. The schnitzels served were very large and very tasty. 5. The side salads are also very large, tasty and mostly contain fresh ingredients (except canned corn and beans). Price level top. Conclusion, it is definitely worth a visit. Small note: a little more sauce might be enough for the almond schnitzel with chanterelles. Otherwise really good!!!

A real old-fashioned German restaurant, we love it. Delicious food, various types of snitzels on the menu. But also plenty of other choices. Is an older couple, Mrs. does the service and mr. is in the kitchen. Super friendly, definitely worth repeating. And for the Dutch, they have enough mayonnaise 🙈🤣

We had dinner at Bürgerstube Zell on May 19th with 4 people and a dog. I reserved the table by phone. As main courses we had, among other things, schnitzel, which were really very good, and the other dishes were also really tasty, with good portions and nice service. Price / offer: Very good. We wanted to eat in the restaurant but unfortunately it is closed. It is listed as open on the internet and there was no sign on site saying it was closed today. Nobody answers the phone because you're supposed to reserve a table. It's a shame, we were looking forward to eating here.

A home-style, family-run restaurant that you should definitely consider when visiting. The food is freshly prepared, lovingly prepared and very tasty. The boss is very friendly, the interior has charm, a bit old, but very! clean. The rich schnitzel platter and the Moseler schnitzel are indeed recommended. Gutbürgerliches Restaurant mit viel Herz geführt. Auf Sonderwünsche wird sofort eingegangen. Das schnitzel wurde frisch zubereitet und kam heiß an den Tisch. Das Ambiente ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen und recht zusammengewürfelt. Insgesamt war es ein angebender Aufenthalt.

Essen geht so. Einrichtung über die Jahre gleich geblieben, fahren seit Jahren schon an die Mosel. Sowie die Einrichtung so auch der Service.

Rustikaler Schick wo der Chef selbst kocht und die Gattin serviert. Wir hatten eine tolle Schnitzelplatte, zwei leckere Salate zu einem topp Preis Leistung Verhältnis. Wenn wir wieder in die Ecke kommen, machen wir auf jeden Fall dort Halt. Sehr freundliche Bedienung 👍

Wir waren an einem Samstag Abend hier ohne Voranmeldung. Wir wurden freundlich begrüßt und bekamen auch ohne Reservierung einen Tisch. Essen und waren schnell bestellt. Wir bekamen zügig unsere Getränke, den Vorspeisensalat und das Hauptgericht. Ich fand den Salat sehr warm als ob er schon länger in der Küche vorbereitet gestanden hat. Mein Schnitzel und die Pommes waren okay. Irgendwie waren aber die Teller ein wenig fettig, nicht ganz sauber. Das ganze Restaurant ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Wir sind nur durch die Beschilderung im Ort darauf aufmerksam geworden. Ich würde noch ein mal hingehen um zu sehen ob wir einfach nur einen schlechten Tag erwischt haben.

Schönes Gasthaus für Liebhaber vergangener Zeiten. Essen war sehr gut. Richtig gutes Schnitzel, ausreichend Pommes und frischer Salat. War bestimmt nicht das letzte Mal. Gerne wieder. FAIRE Preise, keine Touristen Abzocke.

Da gibt's nicht viel zu sagen, absolut urig,sauber, und unfassbar leckere Schnitzel. Genauso stell ich mir ein Deutsches Oldschool Lokal vor. Gerichte m.M nach preislich zu günstig. 2.- mehr waren noch völlig in Ordnung

Wir sind extra für die Rieslingsuppe hergekommen und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Die Suppe war sehr heiß und sehr lecker, der Riesling Geschmack kam gut hervor😋.

Bedienung schnell und freundlich, keine lange Wartezeit aufs Essen und es schmeckt hervorragend. Das Ambiente muss man gesehen haben, einfach nur toll.

Wir waren zu viert hier Essen. Das Essen war mega lecker und nicht gerade wenig. Die Bedienung, hätte durchaus fröhlicher sein können und flexibler. Wir wollten Beilagen umbestellen was sie weniger toll fand. Dabei sind die gewünschten Beilagen eh auf der Karte gewesen. Trotzdem würde ich gerne wieder hingehen wollen.

Schnitzeljagd für zwei Personen, reichlich und vielseitig. Rustikale Einrichtung aber gemütlich. Gerne wieder.

Die Bedienung war freundlich und hat auch Sonderwünsche entgegengenommen. Das Essen war wie aus einer anderen Zeit. Vor 30 oder 40 Jahren hätte ich es für gut befunden, heute allerdings nicht mehr zeitgemäß. Salat bis auf ein grünes Blatt aus der Dose, Erbsen aus der Dose, die Soßen recht langweilig. Das Fleisch war von guter Qualität. Nach einem 2. Getränk wurden wir nicht gefragt und Dessert wurde auch nicht angeboten. Wir waren um 18:30 die letzten Gäste, die angenommen wurden. Andere wurden weggeschickt, obwohl noch Tische frei waren. Also besser reservieren.

Je rijdt er zo voorbij. Nu eens niet aan de Moezel gelegen. Maar je er echt naar binnen gaan. Heerlijk eerlijk Duits eten. De Schnitzels worden terplaatse zelf gemaakt. Zeer vriendelijke bediening. Goede huiswijn en veel lokale gasten. Dan weet je als buitenlander dat je goed zit. En dan de prijzen.

Wir waren vor zwei Jahren schon mal hier. Und muss sagen das Essen ist super gut wie vor zwei Jahren!!! Top. Wir kommen wieder.

De naam kan misleidend zijn, er worden geen hamburgers geserveerd. Wel lekkere Duitse keuken! Prijs/kwaliteit zeker oké, schnitzel mit pommes voor 11 euro... Het interieur is ook typisch Duits... Niet echt gezellig.
