Actually, I shouldn't give a star at all. I was in the restaurant with my family on Saturday, April 5th, 2025 at around 4:00 p.m. and the waitress said we could choose a seat. Unfortunately we were forgotten and ignored by the waitress, even though there was almost nothing going on, who preferred to drink cocktails with her two colleagues at the counter. Since we weren't noticed or served, we left. The service cannot be recommended.
I ate at the Ratskeller in Rheinsberg for two consecutive days – and I have to say: simply WOW! I've rarely enjoyed such delicious food in such a cozy atmosphere.
On the first evening, I had the braised beef – tender as butter, incredibly aromatic, and with a perfectly seasoned sauce. It was accompanied by classic side dishes that rounded off the whole experience wonderfully. I was already thrilled! The next day, I absolutely wanted to come back because I was so impressed by the food – and again, I wasn't disappointed. This time, I chose the liver Berlin style, a dish I honestly don't order everywhere – but here, it was an absolute hit! The liver was perfectly fried, tender, still beautifully juicy on the inside, and with a very light, delicious crust on the outside. The onions were golden brown and sweetly caramelized – simply heavenly.
The surroundings were also impeccable: The staff were extremely friendly, attentive, and warm. You feel welcome from the very first moment. The service always had a smile on their faces, was fast, professional, yet relaxed and down-to-earth – exactly what you'd want.
The ambiance in the Ratskeller is very pleasant – quaint, cozy, and decorated with a loving eye for detail. Everything is just right here: food, service, atmosphere.
I'll definitely be back and recommend the Ratskeller to anyone who loves good German food and values genuine hospitality. For me, it's a clear 5-star experience!
Great team, great food, we'll be happy to come back... However, on the weekend you have to book a table in advance because it's a very popular restaurant and always full.
Gasthaus Herkenrath Hof in Leverkusen offers a truly satisfying dining experience. We began with their hausgebackene Spargelquiche mit Bärlauch-Creme, a delicious asparagus quiche paired with a creamy wild garlic sauce, and a fresh salad bouquet that added a light and vibrant touch to the meal.
For the main course, the hausgemachte Rinderroulade mit Apfelrotkohl und Petersilienkartoffeln was a standout. The beef roulade was perfectly tender, complemented by tangy red cabbage and fluffy parsley potatoes, making for a rich and comforting dish. A great place to enjoy authentic German flavours!
